WHAT TO DO IF YOUR LIFE SUCKS - Dreams Around The World - Duration: 8:29.

Hey Dan here and in this video I'm answering a question sent in from an

ENFP although my advice is really going to be universal here no matter what your

personality type. Ultimately it boils down to: My life sucks, what should I do?

So here are the highlights of the question: I've been listening to your

YouTube videos on and off and just started up again as I've been having

difficulty in my life I've reached a point where I'm not sure what to do

anymore I'm burned out and have no drive, motivation, dreams, or money to do

anything except stay at my dead-end job that I once again went back to because

the grass wasn't greener on the other side. I'd hoped to start in total the last

two plus years a work from home job but I know nothing about the motivation of

running my own business but I can't stand the cubicle grind in data entry

long term - I don't blame you for that one - My feelings get in the way of dictating

what I should do in almost everything I do in my life. I will point out there's

some typos and some issues, something I might touch on after why that's

important but everything I do in my life and realize that I can't always feel

good about being a business owner because every choice of being an

employee or a business owner has its pros and cons. I don't have any direction

in my life, I'm all over the map, I can't choose a destination and if I do, I

either get bored after a while or I can't see things through to completion.

Being 37 years old and making less than $14 an hour with a two-hour commute to

work every day is not my idea of fun. it's absolute hell. Any advice and what I

should do? - So it doesn't sound like you're in a great spot. And I gotta give

you the hard truth is from what you've told me and where you're at I mean if

you're 37 and for the United States earning less than $14 an hour with a

two-hour commute doing work you hate, you screwed up somewhere. I mean that's the

honest truth of it, right? If you told me you were doing work you loved and you

weren't earning any money that's a different story but doing work you hate

for a very low American wage I say so because people watching from all over

world some places that's a very good income but based on the cost of living

in the US, that's not a good livelihood. You screwed up somewhere and I bring

that up because you might want to start at the fundamentals, you know. You talked

about starting an at-home business and that's something that I cringe at

because you know it sounds like you're probably looking for an easy solution

you know and you're in a point in your life where I think you're the potential

prey a victim of phony gurus and self-help people who are gonna say: "Hey

buy my magic potion, take your last five hundred dollars you have left on your

credit card and buy my course and I'll change your life!" Because you're in a bad

spot and I gotta tell you I don't think there's going to be a quick you know

get-out-of-jail-free card for you necessarily. What I would do if I was you

is I would take some time, I would focus on reading, videos as well but things

that you can go in depth and reflect. I'm guessing that there is a pattern

somewhere there is a trend in your life where you're doing something you

mentioned in terms of your emotions you have some self-awareness on that already.

There's something that keeps coming up that keeps putting you in these

situations and until that's resolved you're going to struggle whether it is

getting a better job or starting your own business or making a big change

because there's something in the foundation that isn't right. That doesn't

mean you aren't right and that doesn't mean you're stuck this way at all, it

just means there's something you need to figure out, you know...For me one of those

things was ADHD where I always knew I had ADHD, everyone in my family does, but

I'm like yeah I was smart enough to get through school it wasn't really a big

issue and I just kind of toughed it out but at a certain point in my life

especially working for myself, working from home I'm like: Wait, I might actually

want to look into this and I started reading up on it, reading up on doing

things like exercise and diet at all kinds of ways to address it and that had

a big impact on everything else in my life. That was something that I realized

afterwards was ultimately holding me back in the like little ways but so many

little ways everyday and so that's something I would encourage you to look

at. Not ADD specifically although that may be something but look at what could

be an underlying issue. It could actually be a serious psychological issue you may

have something I can't tell from your message, I'm not gonna try to

diagnose you but you could have any number of underlying disorders that if

you look into treatment might resolve all the other problems or you may just

have some kind of patterns you do with people a mindset you picked up when you

were younger, something that is ultimately holding you back here that's

what I would start with in terms of making a change until you've done that

nothing else will really make a huge difference. Now with that said something

else I would start doing and you can do at the same time simultaneously is look

to improve an area of your life don't necessarily think to make your big

change right now and I know I'm sure you're impatient you don't want to be at

this dead-end job but is there another area you can start improving there's a

personal development saying - How you do anything is how you do everything and

that tends to be true for people, you know, if you have asked one area of your

life might have asked the other areas of your life similarly if you start to

develop really positive habit it can end up improving many areas of your life.

Jordan Peterson talks about this in a bit of a different way with like making

your bed and I don't make my bed in the morning to me it seems useless because

I'm just going back into it at night but his logic behind the make your bed is

you're starting the day I guess being disciplined and being you know doing

something good, you're building good habits and that kind of thing. I think

the same could apply to anything you know start to learn like something you

know, read a book start learning a language on Duolingo on your phone and

do that for 30 minutes a day. You'll build discipline, you'll improve your

thinking, you'll start to feel pride in yourself again like I'm guessing based

on your situation you don't feel the best about yourself right now and that

makes it hard to make change again so picking up some kind of hobby, a martial

art, just exercise, running, doing something, learning about whatever, doing

something that you can make progress and feel proud abou - anything but a video

game. I love my video games but you know getting to level 50 with your World of

Warcraft character may not have enough of an external impact on your

but something you can do involving like language, people, learning, maybe even

start volunteering which sounds crazy because you're probably thinking:

Volunteer somewhere? I need help right now, why would I help other people but

you might find by making a change like that that it will adjust your wiring

inside by taking time to give to other people it will change how you're

thinking and that could also help you make progress so those would be the two

things I would look at and I would say this pretty much to anyone. If you've

watched this far in the video and you feel like you know your life sucks or

you're in a tough spot or maybe there's someone else in your life that isn't a

tough spot and you're watching this video for them is look at underlying

issues. I can almost guarantee if it's been a pattern throughout your life

there's something there that is causing it and until you address that the rest

won't make as big of a difference and the second thing is do something you can

take pride in and that will start to make you feel good to start to at least

adjust how you're feeling on a day to day basis. I would say exercise, learning

or volunteering something in one of those three areas would be where I would

look at. Hope you've enjoyed this video, I hope you find this helpful, do write me

How to Salt Pasta Water - Duration: 2:43.

- Hi, I'm Jerry James Stone, and in today's video,

I'm gonna show you how to properly salt your pasta water.

I feel this is the one thing that most people make

the biggest mistake when it comes to making pasta,

because when you're cooking pasta,

getting salt into that pasta is really important

for having a properly salted dish.

Some pasta sauces don't have a lot of salt on them.

For example, pesto is not overly salted.

Or even just a basic marinara.

So having the right amount of salt is super important.

My water is coming up to boil

so let me show you how to do it right now.

(upbeat music)

The first step for properly salting your pasta water

is to have it boiling.

You're gonna add in about one tablespoon

for every pound of pasta that you're cooking.

As soon as you add it in, it's gonna boil like crazy.

This is really important because this is how you're going

to introduce salt into your pasta.

And now, as you can see the steam,

the facial that I'm getting,

it's back up to a roaring boil.

We're gonna add in our pasta.

It's very important that you just add salt and water.

Never add oil to your water for cooking pasta.

It will make it not stick, but it will also mean

that your sauce will not stick to it either.

And now we're just gonna cook it per package instructions.

And that's all there is to it,

to properly salting your pasta water.

I know it seems simple,

but I can't tell you how many people mess this up

and it really does affect that perfect dish.

So when you're serving your next pasta meal

make sure you cook it properly just like this.

If you like this video, give me a thumbs up

and hey you know what, if you like to cook like I do,

then subscribe.

I release new videos every single week.

And if there's something that you wanna see,

whether it's a recipe or a how to, drop a comment below.

I'll see you guys next time.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport report, home sales went down 9-point-6 percent

The decline followed tougher government measures to cool the overheating market and strengthen

The number of homes sold in Seoul reached 1-hundred-71-thousand, down 8-point-9 percent

from the previous year.

In the capital region including Gyeonggi-do Province and Incheon, sales dropped by 6-point-6

Branding calm you can find more information about what I'm discussing here today. In fact, that's probably the best reasonable support

I'll try and find a link for you guys and leave it underneath if you're interested

Anyway, what he discusses is something called intent-based branding. So what the idea is in very loose terms is that

there's only one way that you can get people to buy your high ticket offers and that is if they

Did it to turn I'm such a good drawer

I'm so neat at writing. So if you know what they stand for good for you, but basically it means

People will only buy from you. It doesn't matter if it's the online or offline world if they know

like and trust

You okay? So how do we get people to know it like and trust us we offer them valued?

So basically what Frank discusses and what the technique involves is creating

some pieces of content

so you might have one piece of content there one piece of content there and

the best way to do it is usually through very short videos that

Are very simple you don't need to go to fancy

Even just on your smartphone as you're walking through the park or you're driving or whatever the case may be

basically, just giving some value to your audience and

That value could be a tiny little tip to save on their home loan if you're in the mortgage industry it could be

how to prepare their house for sale if you're a real estate agent it could be

You know, what's some market demographics if you're in real estate or you go to coaching business, maybe something thats related to your audience

so you just do these little videos you can do it all in one tank and then just cut them up if you prefer and

Edit them

And so the idea being is that people you send an ad and traffic to this first video

over here

So that can be through facebook FB

FB and instagrams and whatever and doesn't really matter where else it comes from

The point being is that you're sending traffic Google Adwords the big G calm chuckle, okay

Okay

so you're sending traffic to your first little video or your blog content blog article that actually helps the audience and

Here's the tricky part about it. You are not looking at selling them

It is designed to sell eventually, but you're not really looking at selling them

You're basically just saying look here's his something that's gonna help you guys

Yeah, thanks for watching that's it and you don't even put a link there that's that's the crazy part about it

So the whole idea is that you just want to engagement in your video

Now what you can do with the likes of Facebook Ads

Is you can then re target the people that have watched say I don't know 50% or 75%

Thank you

imagine that if you've got someone that's watched a hundred percent of your video or even

75% they're pretty engaged as opposed to someone that's only watch to say three seconds

So then what you do is that starts forming an audience and then you use those people that are viewed 50% or 75%

to show them another video in

your sequence

So that's always that one and then it's always that one followed by

Guess if what happens bang-bang all these pieces of content that are designed to help them out

Now what you're effectively doing in this stage and like I say the idea is to provide value. So you're solving their problem first

You're solving the problem here. You're solving their problems their you solving their problems here. You're helping them

you're helping them helping them and then finally

Only when you've solved their problems and you've got out in front of them and you know them

They know you they know because I've seen you around them on all the ads

they like you because you're helping them out with your their problems and

They probably trust you because you haven't just tried to sell themselves straight away. It's only then when you get through to these last two

that you can then go and pray probably just the last one to be honest, but you can basically say

Cool, if you did get value out of anything here and you want to take it up a notch

feel free to have a look at link below and

Get in contact with my team to see if we can work together. And again, it's a soft pitch. You're not really saying

Hey y'all. Now that I've given you all the stuff buy my shit. You're basically saying

Great, if you think this has been valuable and you would like to discuss perhaps how we can help you more

Feel free to have a look at the link. That's all you're doing and it's so soft

and so kind of

Almost half-hearted that the idea being that they've got so much value there by the time they get down to this stage

I've watched all this content but time to get out there to this stage then they're like, oh, yeah. This guy's awesome

I want to I want whatever content is gone

So therefore they're more likely to click on the link and no more likely for you just to do a rough pitch and say hey

Yep, look you obviously know you know how I can help you out

Is that something you want to move forward with and then it's up to you to close that 5k deal

Or the 20k or the 30 and 100 whatever it is. It's irrelevant. It's more just the idea of providing that value first

Like I say it's not something that I invented and if you do want to learn more, please

Have a look at any of Franklin's stuff. He's an absolute genius when it comes to all the stuff

They gives you a very rough idea of how this whole principle works

But yeah, definitely definitely ever look at it if you want to get into that

Especially if you're looking at selling high ticket items and like I say, it doesn't matter if it's a mortgage broking

you know for it to help your clients out because it can actually work for small business and make one of the

Gentlemen that I follow online he runs a business himself and uses a very similar concept. I've even done it with things is

Innocuous you might say as concrete cutting. So they've managed to grow these amazing businesses out of simple concrete cutting

They've actually provided value somehow on there. I don't quite know. I haven't seen it myself

But yeah, anyway that that's the idea behind it

Now if you don't wanna put your face on camera, look I completely get it's gonna take a little bit longer

but these can all just be blog articles and

Again, you're just trying to provide value value value value value value value bang-bang-bang not selling not selling

Oh, by the way, if you do want anything else or help with any of this bang?

let's reach out to me here nice and easy and that whole thing works amazingly well and it's because

You're using that formula like I say, which is the no. Oh

Man, what the hell no, like and trust

So by the time they hit the end the people that are really engaged

they will know you because you've been there they will like you because you've provided value and they'll trust you because you haven't tried to

Sharpen the whole way as I mentioned. Anyway, that is intent-based branding 101

Like I say if you do want to learn more about this reach out to Frank Kern. He's just an absolute

Legend when it comes to the stuff and you'll probably explain it a lot better than I ever could

But anyway, that's the rough principle behind it. So I hope you hopefully got some value out of today's video and if you did

Please feel free to like and comment on this video or not. That's cool, too. But yeah, anyway, my name is Jamie Jean

Thanks you thanks very much for watching and I'll see you guys next time. Bye for now

Gov't to consider opinions of small business on wage policy: Finance minister - Duration: 0:41.

Korea's finance minister met Thursday with organizations representing small business...

to discuss ways to improve conditions for them.

Minister Hong Nam-ki vowed to stay in close touch with these groups... and listen to their

ideas when it comes to the minimum wage, which has been raised by double digits for two years

in a row now.

These organizations have been calling for wages to be raised more slowly... because

of the difficulties higher wages have posed to small business owners.

Minister Hong also vowed to support the self-employed.

Although the specifics have not been announced yet, he said the government will submit a

bill this year to parliament to support these two groups.

Korea to be heavily affected by EU safeguards on imported steel - Duration: 1:58.

EU Member States greenlit the European Commission's plan to impose definitive safeguard measures

on steel imports.

It's a decision that's expected to have a significant impact on South Korea.

Kim Ji-yeon explains further.

The latest safeguard measures on imported steel products released by the European Commission...

are a heavy blow to major steel exporting countries like South Korea.

The EU is the fourth largest importer of South Korean steel,... with over three-point-three

million tons of steel exported to the region in 2017... worth some two-point-nine billion

U.S. dollars.

"On top of U.S. tariff measures on imported steel, the EU measures are expected to directly

hit Korean steel exporters... hurting production as well as the volume of steel exports.

It's going to be tough for the Korean government to try to get an exemption from EU safeguards

since the measures usually cannot exempt certain countries."

The European Commission has informed the World Trade Organization of its decision to impose

a 25-percent tariff on 26 steel products including hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel sheets...

imported into the EU above a certain level.

The measures will come into force early next month and run until July 2021.

The European Commission said steel imports below 105-percent of the volumes recorded

over the 2015 and 2017 period will be exempt from tariffs through 2021.

But steel imports exceeding 105-percent will be slapped with a 25-percent duty.

The tariff decision follows an investigation last July after the Trump administration imposed

tariffs on imported steel and aluminum products for national security reasons.

Last week, Seoul raised opposition to the EU's plan... signaling it would take retaliatory

measures if the EU insisted on the safeguard measures.

Kim Ji-yeon, Arirang News.

Gimp: Remove The Background And Make It Transparent - Duration: 6:43.

In this Gimp Workshop tutorial for beginners,

we are going to remove the background from an image and make it transparent.

When we have opened Gimp, we go to file in the menu bar.

Then we go to open.

Search for the image that we want to use and open it.

There is a download link in the video description for the image used in this tutorial.

When your image does not fit in the window,

you can go to view, zoom and fit image in window.

Go to layer, transparency and hit add alpha channel.

In the layers panel we can see that the font changes from bold to normal.

This indicates that this layer now can have transparency.

Although we are going to remove the background, we are first going to select our subject.

There are many ways in which we can do this.

One of the easiest ways is by using the free select tool.

Click in the toolbox to make it active.

Hold the Ctrl key and zoom in by rolling the mouse wheel.

We can click node after node to select our subject.

But when you have a steady hand, you can also click and drag to make a line.

Pressing the backspace key, lets us undo one or more previous made nodes.

Then we can just continue.

When we press and hold the mouse wheel down, the cursor changes into the move tool.

We can then, by moving the mouse, move the image.

Letting go of the mouse wheel gives us the free select tool again.

This moving of the image, can of course also be done with the scroll bars.

Usually it is best to stay just a little bit inside the boundaries of our subject,

when we make a selection.

Selecting hair can be a bit difficult, but later on we will see

how we can make it look better in this particular image.

When we are at the bottom of our image, we can just click outside the image

and move to the other side.

For the sake of the tutorial we will speed up the video until we are back at the first node.

Now we click the last node over the first node.

Then hit enter or double click in the selection to apply it.

Go to view, zoom and click on fit image in window.

With this image, there are several areas inside the selection that we also have to remove.

Go to the tool options.

At the mode we click on the third button, which is subtract from current selection.

Select the remaining areas in the same way as you did with the girl and the suitcase.

And again, we go fast forward.

Click Ctrl+Sift+J to fit the image in the window.

Go to select and click on feather.

We feather the selection line with 5 pixels, and click okay.

In this way the edge of our selection is not so hard, but looks more natural.

We have now selected the object, but we want to remove the background.

Go to select and click on invert.

We can see at the marching ants at the edge of the image,

that the background instead of the girl is selected.

Then we go to edit and click on clear to remove the background.

The checker board structure that we see now, is the transparency.

Go to select and hit none, to deselect the selection.

Now we will work a bit on the hair, to make it look more natural.

Go to the toolbox and make the smudge tool active.

Then we choose brush bristles 02.

Change the size to about 15 or 20.

This depends also on the size of our image.

Bigger image means bigger brush.

Smaller image means smaller brush.

Smudge the edge of the hair like so, to make it look more natural.

When this is done we go to view again.

Click on zoom and fit image in window.

Now to finish of, we are going to export our image out of Gimp.

Go to file and click on export as.

Contrary to what you would expect, we have to go to export or export as

and not to save or save as.

Here we can search for the destination folder.

And here we can give it a name, but do not hit enter yet.

Images with transparency always have to be exported

with a PNG extension to keep the transparency.

So click on select file type,

scroll down to PNG image

and click on it.

The extension behind the image name is now changed to png.

You can also just type in the extension behind the image name.

Now we can click export.

And in the dialog that pops up, we can just click export again.

And that is how you do it.

I hope this helps.

Please take a moment to give it thumbs up and leave a comment.

Thanks for watching.
