Today the Search Engine Google is celebrating Martin Luther King Jr.

Day 2019 with Google Doodle in the United States.

Today's Doodle was created by Brooklyn-based guest artist Xia Gordon.

Below, she shares her thoughts on today's Doodle.

Martin Luther King Jr.

Day is an American federal holiday marking the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr.

It is observed on the third Monday of January each year, which is around King's birthday,

January 15.

The holiday is similar to holidays set under the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.

The earliest Monday for this holiday is January 15 and the latest is January 21.

Born the son of a Baptist minister in Atlanta, Georgia, Martin Luther King Jr. fought tirelessly

for the civil rights of all and to bring about a more united nation.

From the Montgomery Bus Boycott to the March on Washington and the historic civil rights

march in Selma, Dr. King repeatedly risked his freedom and his life in pursuit of his

dream of racial equality.

His legacy lives on through a series of victories, from the 1956 Supreme Court ruling against

segregation on buses to the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

Legislation signed in 1983 made Dr. King's birthday a federal holiday.

Congress designated it as a national day of service with the aim of creating solutions

to social problems and moving us closer to Dr. King's "Beloved Community."

Today's Doodle by guest artist, Xia Gordon, depicts Dr. King at his writing desk as he

wrestles with his ideas, perhaps contemplating how he might help to form a more unified society.

To this day, Dr. King's example continues to light the way forward, with love.

"Hate is too great a burden to bear."

Speaking at the Southern Christian Leadership Conference's annual convention, the Nobel

Prize-winning civil rights leader affirmed an idea set forth in his 1963 book, Strength

to Love: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.

Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Martin Luther King Jr was the chief spokesperson for nonviolent activism in the Civil Rights

Movement, which successfully protested racial discrimination in federal and state law.

The campaign for a federal holiday in King's honor began soon after his assassination in

1968.

President Ronald Reagan signed the holiday into law in 1983, and it was first observed

three years later.

At first, some states resisted observing the holiday as such, giving it alternative names

or combining it with other holidays.

It was officially observed in all 50 states for the first time in 2000.

We believe people's efforts to show their will to pay back

and overcome their situation should be the most important standard

in the credit assessment regardless of their financial status.

Alternative credit assessment platform is a credit evaluating system

based on analyzing big data from smartphones.

We analyze the information from the application and score them.

And we use that score as adding points on the total score they already have

so that people would have one more chance to be re-evaluated rather than easily getting rejected.

The goal of Like Lion is to resolve IT education disparity.

We teach computer programming for free or with a little amount of tuition fee.

When we went to rural areas, many people lived without computers.

We went there to teach programming, but they didn't have a computer.

We wondered what we should do.

So we decided to buy computers from the money we got from Google Impact Challenge and corporate donations.

We installed computers at schools and gave some to the students,

and started to teach programming.

"BF.ZIDO" is an application that helps the people with disabilities by showing information they need when transporting on the map.

They can check whether a place has accommodations for people with disabilities before they transfer by using the app just like Google Maps.

We have done community mapping workshops with schools, people without disability, and organizations.

We tried to put in information and pictures from those activities into the application.

"Smart Donation Information Platform" is a system that helps people make a reasonable decision on donating

by providing information about nonprofit foundations.

And qualitative evaluation system collects news

related to those nonprofit organizations together.

Self-diagnosis test has been improved to be more user-friendly so that donors and nonprofit foundations can use it easily.

Impact career is a program that connects young adults

who wish to make the world better

with companies which already are doing business for the greater good.

We collect job opportunities, then we find young adults

who want those jobs through recruiting platform "impact.career"

Then before each individual enter the company

they go through a boot camp prepared by Root Impact.

"Flower Recycling" is a project to use the flowers that have been used or left over.

We get the flower donation and give them as a gift or teach flower arrangement lesson

for those underprivileged people who have little access to flowers.

In the first year, we created an organization called "Education Solution Network".

Around 20 revolutionary education companies had the opportunity to meet one another regularly

for seminars and learned from one another,

eventually understanding the rural areas.

"Clean Area Project" is a project that sends young adults from the city to rural areas

without college students to do volunteer tutoring and actual work as well.

We call the project and the people who protect tidal flats (getbol)

through observation and recording

as "Getbol Keepers"

We have one system that allows regular citizens to take a picture of the organisms

they observed right away and upload it with the location data.

We have another system that officially recruits Getbol Keepers and train them

so that they can persistently accumulate the scientific data.

"The World's Biggest Class" is a project about using textbooks and materials from the formal educational system as leverage

so that children can grow the ability to solve real problems that matter in the real world.

In Cheonan Saesaem elementary school,

there was a pattern that kids did not flush the toilet.

There, the kids showed the process of finding the essence of the problem through research.

We realized that we could achieve strong educational effects by stimulating children's problem-solving instinct.

I believe there is a change in education bigger than the superficial number.

Now we are teaching

around 1,400 students in 85 colleges.

Also, we are expanding our classes to 4 foreign countries.

One bride donated the whole wedding flowers to us.

As a result, we were able to send 70 bouquets to 6 organizations and comfort women.

I was impressed by the message that they would be grateful for those who helped delivering wedding flowers to the comfort women

making the flowers much more valuable,

and that they will remember it forever.

It is our goal to expand our system and help people who are financially excluded

to get re-evaluated with a better credit assessment system.

Look After Yourself (Ep 1) - Work Boots - Duration: 5:41.

All about you

Episode 1- Boots.

I talk a lot

about marketing and sales and systems

and hiring and firing

but you run your business

and you're responsible for growing it and growing it profitably

and no one's going to do that for you, are they?

So let's talk specifically

about looking after you, that's coming by it's all about you.

I'll talk about managing you and managing your time and your priorities and yourself and your

diary in other videos. I want to talk for the next few

about looking after yourself. You're important, you're important to your business

and all these videos talk about that and looking after yourself so you make more money and so you make

better decisions is important and all those things are true.

But you're also important because you're important to you

and you're important to your mom and you're important to your family

as well as to the business and to kind of work responsibilities.

Looking after you is important for its own sake as well. You don't want to feel sh*t you don't want to be

unhealthy, all that kind of stuff.

There's more to life than work and being successful so we need to look after ourselves.

Let's start. Let's start from the bottom with our boots.

How long do yours last?

When I was young about 25,

in my first job, I wasn't wearing boots, I was wearing shoes because it was a suit. I was working in sales in

the IT industry and someone told me something about shoes and this guy said,

"You know the reason shoes wear out quickly, the reason mostly that they die on you,

is because they stay damp, your feet sweating all day and then you put them on again the next day

and there's still a bit damp and of course in a damp environment bacteria and bugs live

so they're never dried out properly so these bacteria and bugs live in your boots in the leather

or the other stuff, in cotton linings and stuff and they eat it

so your boots get basically rot from the inside. The linings and the leather

start to get eaten away and they lose their shape and they lose their stiffness

and eventually you're throwing them away

and know that they stink.

The answer to this was I was told,

buy two pairs, wear them on alternate days (this gives in time to dry out)

which means the bugs don't live

which means then they don't get to breed and grow

and all that, they die every night so your boots will last considerably in longer days,

more than twice as long because you have two pairs.

It was a good tip. Another time. I remember thinking when I was told this

who knew? I didn't know .

Now I do and here we go I'm telling you, your welcome,

buy two pairs wear them every other day, they'll last you much longer.

So there's a business lesson coming. I remember

being told this and realising that I didn't know

and the world (I'm sure your world is full of stuff you don't know).

You don't know what you don't know either (there's no cliche there).

You don't know what you don't know until someone comes along and tells you

here's the thing you didn't know

and you've lent it and then you do know. And that's okay. I don't think we should be feeling bad here

for what we don't know.

I don't want you to feel bad for what you don't know but what I do want to say to you is

your role in your business has changed somewhere and most of my business coaching clients

are well educated in the technical side of your business in your trade.

They have the technical skills. You keep yourselves up-to-date on the regulations on new tools or new

technologies or new ways of doing things.

But now your role is changing and you're moving more into

being a business owner than a trade person, you need to remember

to keep yourself up to date on the business stuff as well. Don't be surprised

(I'm talking about business because I'm a business coach). It would be a shock if I didn't win it.

So it's important for you to keep yourself

to learn these new things for about marketing and about digital marketing and social media marketing

and specifically how to market your business,

about sales and how to do that properly,

about how to have systems, about how to use technologies in the office as well as on site,

about how to manage people and lead people properly and set a culture and hire and fire well,

all that stuff. This stuff you need to do and learn.

And guess what, that's what I teach. That's what I help with in my programs.

Those shocks (no sh*t Jon).

But that's good. I've put these stuff together. I've made that my job to put this together

in a way that you can use it quickly

and easily and put it into practice in your business.

A business coaching program like mine isn't the only place you can learn stuff, of course

it's not, I went and learned it somewhere. I didn't just make it all up.

I've learnt in books, and on courses, and online, and all sorts of other places. You can do that

but you can come to my place, and my course and my program.

Learn more quickly and more importantly

put it into practice in your business which is the point. The point of learning this stuff

is to put it into practice and implement it in your business and make your business better

and make your performance in your business better.

   Dembele's future was called into question earlier in the season, with much talk over his disciplinary problems

 Manager Ernesto Valverde was asked countless times about his discipline, as he was reported to have turned up late to training and even going AWOL

 Arsenal were linked with an audacious £100million swoop in the summer, particularly after Dembele was photographed with Arsenal stars Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Matteo Guendouzi in the summer

 Aubameyang and Dembele are friends, of course, having played together at Borussia Dortmund before the pair went their separate ways to London and Barcelona

 The links between Arsenal and Dembele continued into the start of this season, mainly down to the player's disciplinary issues

But with the Gunners only looking at loan deals this January, because of a lack of finances, any move for Dembele is off the table

   And his form at Barca would suggest they had little chance of signing him anyway

 And after another sparkling display, the Barca fans could not help having a little dig on Twitter, with some Arsenal fans questioning how they were ever linked with the French forward in the first place

My Identity - Duration: 3:21.

Our religion is our identity

and every single aspect of our lives is covered.

A Muslim's purpose is is to serve Allah and serve his people.

We are taught to be humble, kind and help people in need and spread our religion through our good actions.

However, in the present situation of the world, staying true to ourselves and our deen is harder challenge than anything else.

Sometimes being true to one's identity and steadfastness in ons belief can bring a change that's beyond one's expectation.

This incident is based on a true story that happened to me ten years ago when i went to get my drivers license test in canada.

I arrived at the place where I had to take the test and went to the front desk and asked the man behind the desk for the information for the test i had registered for.

He looked at me and said that I was not allowed to take the test with my niqab or face covering which I found quite surprising because i knew i would be driving with my niqab on what would be the point of taking my test without it.

I told him very firmly that I would be driving with this on and that i was no gonna take this off.

So he said that he would call the manager and ask him on what to do next and he called the manager for me and explained to him the entire situation to which the manager agreed to take my test himself

So i went outside, met the manager and we got into my car and we drove. He took my test and I had practised from before so i wasn't as nervous as i should have and i did pretty well.
