Hello its Kinoshita Yuka (Eng subs by ~Aphexx~) (subtitles optimized to be viewed on PC-Mac)
today I'm here in Vietnam
tadaa check it out its a Cacao orchard
this is my favourite chocolate and its made from cacao
today we'll be seeing how cacao is made from the bean to bar and level up our choco knowledge
alrighty lets get to it
this is a cacao tree and this is its fruit
this is my first time ever seeing the fruit like this look at how red it is
these cacao fruit are so pretty look at that sheen
and here is a ripe fruit I'll now pick it
its hard
its a bit on the moist side I'll now get them to cut the cacao for me
I wonder what it looks like inside
its white like this inside it
There is a bit of Flesh surrounding the seed
I just can't believe that something like this Will turn into chocolate
I will now give the fruit surrounding the Cacao a taste
omg its soft AF
yummy
It has a flavor that reminds me of lychee It's sweet and yummy
Inside the fruit are the beans And those are called the cacao beans
Look at all the cacao fruit I'm just surrounded by them all
You can make a ton of chocolate with all this
This is what's left over after removing the seeds
They say this is to be used as fertilizer
This is a cacao sapling And they have allowed me to plant one here
K, this is my Kakao sapling
The cacao fruit grows up to be as big as this
We chop into the fruit here
And then let it ferment in this box
One of the workers here will show us how They cut the fruit prior to fermentation
so fast this is fast AF
this dude is a machine
And now we extract the fruit whoa he's fast
so he just tosses it in like that
Remove the seeds like this
And it's these seeds that turn into chocolate
And we take this mountain of product
And squeeze it using this machine To turn into juice
Fill it right up and then place the lid on top
It's coming out It's coming out
omg so much is pouring out
I will now drink the juice that was squeezed out
sweet It's like drinking a fruit juice
Doesn't taste of chocolate at all It's so sweet and yummy
delicious
We now allow it to ferment here
It's roughly 40 degrees
wow I wonder how much chocolate this will make
After fermentation we allow it to dry here
spread it out It suddenly smells like chocolate up in here
I had no clue that I'd be doing Something like this here in Vietnam
Once the beans have dried It gets roasted in this machine
It smells so sweet in here
This is what it looks like after being pulverized
This machine separates the shells from the cacao
This is what it looks like after being ground down It's starting to Look Alot Like Chocolate
We've added sugar to the beans that have been processed
It's very chocolatey looking It looks so yummy
And allowed to set in this mold
It looks so yummy
It looks so nice
tadaa at long last the chocolate is now ready
While wearing this "aozai" I will enjoy this chocolate Along with this Vietnamese coffee
Now to remove it from the mold
tadaa its done its come out so nicely
And now I will eat it itadakimasu
Yummy
It tastes so good eating it here On location
And now for the Vietnamese coffee
It tastes so strong and yummy I totally love Vietnamese coffee
These are the Meiji brand chocolates Made from this cacao beans
Perhaps you've seen these before?
These are Meiji's "T H E" chocolate
These are three each of eight flavors Totaling 24
The packaging is so KAWAII
these are "T H E chocolate and Down here you can see that it says bean-to-bar``
Bean-to-bar meaning that these are Made from the chocolate beans
Isn't it so amazing that you can buy these Bean-to-bar chocolates at your local supermarket or
Convenience stores alrighty lets eat itadakimasu
You can tell here that they are all different colors They are apparently all very unique
We'll try this one out first Comfort bitter
The packaging inside is so KAWAII Like this
And this is what they look like
It's got a very nice and intense Aroma to it
Got a very strong taste to it There's so much depth of flavor to it and it's so yummy
When you bite down on these The chocolaty flavor just explodes
Next up a flowery Elegant bitter
Unlike the one I had before this one has A very fruity aroma
It's a flavor that reminds you that Cacao is made from a fruit
next brilliant milk
The milk name denotes that Milk was added to combat the bitter notes
Apparently they try to limit their usage of sugar
If you remember, I tried out some of that cacao juice And it tasted so very sweet
And they use that Sweetness in here
It smells as if it'll taste very sweet
The bitterness of the cacao Has been muted a bit
And the milk gives it a very mild and yummy flavor
next Sunny milk
This tastes even milder than the one before
They are really upping the milk factor
next Vivid milk
They're really increase in the Milky flavor It's not overly sweet at all and so yummy
Since they are using less sugar than others chocolates It doesn't leave a bad sugary aftertaste
Leaving the original sweetness of the chocolate to come through
