How do South Korean citizens feel about Pyongyang's participation in the games?

A recent survey shows the majority welcome the move.

Our Lee Jeong-yeon took to the streets to hear directly from the people for their views

on the matter.

North Korea officially confirmed in Tuesday's first talks... that it will attend the upcoming

2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

And to this, most South Koreans have responded favorably.

(Korean) "I very much agree.

We need to stop thinking of them as enemies, but as allies.

Divided families should also be reunited.

So I hope this can be a stepping stone to unification."

(Korean) "I'm very much in favor.

We will have a stronger international presence if South-North relations improve, so we need

to continue these conversations."

(Korean) "I think it's a very good thing.

It's the way it should be.

Pressure can't solve the problems at hand.

We need to take it step by step, starting with the Olympics."

(Korean) It's good we can take this opportunity to

talk to North Korea.

I hope we can get along better in the future and solve other problems like the nuclear

issue.

According to a survey conducted this year on around 500 South Korean citizens, almost

8 in 10 were in favor of the regime taking part in the Games to improve inter-Korean

relations.

One thing worth noting is that those in favor outnumbered those against... across all age

groups, genders, political orientations and geographical regions... with the exception

of those who support the Liberty Korea Party.

(Stand-up) The overall favorable sentiment among South

Korean citizens toward North Korea's participation at PyeongChang 2018 seems to be based on a

common wish for improved inter-Korean relations that could one day bring lasting peace to

this divided country.

RWTH App - Duration: 3:05.

For one k ∈ Z, we have ak=bk (mod m).

Is this correct or not?

In my lectures, I've often asked students to present specific solution approaches.

However, the students often lack the courage to say something in public,

which is why this method doesn't work very well.

b was not very high, only 3.

For all k>1, we have a^k=b^k.

How can I encourage students to ask questions during the lecture

and, of course, how can I deal with their questions?

So, how can we establish an interaction?

Actually, the solution to this problem was quite obvious.

We asked ourselves: what is it that today's students are very familiar with?

We quickly came to the conclusion that they use social media, such as Facebook, etc.

This is how the idea of direct feedback in the lecture hall was born.

This direct feedback allows us to reach approx. 50-70% of all students on a continuous basis.

Here, we see 25. The 12 is odd.

However, first we see that there are 5 figures.

2,4, there's more, so this must be wrong.

Furthermore, as you can see, not all of these figures are odd.

Therefore, this result must be wrong.

When I asked students to publically share their opinion,

approx. 40% of all students participated.

Thanks to the RWTH app, the participation rose to nearly 100%.

Here, you see the next image.

1, 3, 7, 9, 15.

Is this answer right or wrong?

Sometimes you feel ashamed to ask a question

because it shows the others that there's something you don't know

and they might think "it's so obvious".

In these cases, it's good to anonymously ask a question.

I become very nervous when a professor asks me something during the lecture or when I have a question.

Therefore, I prefer waiting until the end of the lecture to ask the professor in private.

The app makes it easier for me to give an answer

and to evaluate my current level of knowledge.

Furthermore, it allows me to compare myself to the others

and it shows me whether I'm keeping up with the subject matter or not,

which is also interesting for the professor.

Due to the direct feedback, the interaction with the students has become much more intensive.

We've created a feedback tool that's intensively used by students.

This technology is very suitable for professors.

As you can see on the whiteboard behind me, I am a great believer in analogous methods.

However, this technology is very simple and it allows you to effectively communicate with the students.

Therefore, I strongly recommend you to use this tool, as well.
