Idris Elba will officially be switching from hero to villain soon.

Variety reports the Thor: Ragnarok actor is in "final negotiations" to portray the villain

in the Fast & Furious spinoff film, Hobbs and Shaw, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

and Jason Statham.

The Rock also confirmed the news on Twitter.

The Rock and Statham will be reprising their roles as special agent Luke Hobbs and the

mercenary, Deckard Shaw, respectively.

Although they're often at odds in the Fast & Furious franchise, this film will see the

two teaming up—likely to defeat a common enemy a.k.a. Idris' character.

This won't be the first time Elba played a villain though.

He played Krall in Star Trek Beyond and voiced Shere Khan in 2016's The Jungle Book.

But Elba will be fresh off of his longtime role of the heroic Heimdall in the Thor trilogy

and Avengers: Infinity War, where he met an untimely fate at the hands of Thanos.

Elba isn't the only one with something to celebrate this year though.

The Rock's film, Rampage, will be the only film released by a major studio this month

that is based on original source material, per Los Angeles Times.

Spider-Man Co-Creator Steve Ditko Dead at 90 - Duration: 1:13.

For Complex News, I'm Hanuman Welch.

Steve Ditko, co-creator of Marvel superheroes Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, has died at

the age of 90.

The NYPD confirmed the death to several news outlets Friday, one week after his body was

found in his Manhattan apartment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, authorities believe Ditko died two days before a social

worker found him unresponsive.

A cause of death has not been announced.

Ditko was born in 1927 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, where developed a love for comic heroes like

Batman and The Spirit.

After graduating from high school in 1945, he enlisted in the military and began drawing

comic strips for an Army-syndicated newspaper.

Ditko would go on to study under Batman artist Jerry Robinson at the Cartoonists and Illustrators

School in NYC.

About five years later, Ditko landed a job at Atlas Comics—a precursor to Marvel—where

he met comic book legend Stan Lee.

The two eventually worked together to create iconic characters like Doctor Strange, Iron

Man, and supervillain Samuel Sterns, aka the Leader; however, Ditko is most known for his

instrumental role in creating Spider-Man.

THR reports Ditko was responsible for the teenage superhero's signature look; the

blue-and-red costume, as well as the web shooters, were reportedly Ditko's idea.

Following the news of Ditko's death, many fans and writers took to social media to honor

his life and career.

Trump Says That People Who Criticize Him Are A Threat To This Country - Duration: 3:41.

In a really bizarre interview that happened this past weekend, Donald Trump told Fox News

host Maria Bartiromo that his critics, the people out there not being nice to him are

a threat to this country.

Now, specifically to give you a little bit of context to what he was talking about, he

was referring to all of the alleged incivility coming from Democrats and the progressive

left in this country.

Incivility that incidentally doesn't actually exist.

He continuously points to Maxine Waters as somebody who's attempting to incite violence

even though she has never called for violence against conservatives.

But nonetheless Fox News gave the president this ridiculously softball interview to give

him the opportunity to attack his critics and then claim that they were the ones who

are a threat to this country.

Let me just throw this out here.

Donald Trump is the person who's a threat to this country and that's not a crazy statement.

I know lots of people say that.

But listen, here's the reason.

His economic policies, his tariffs, his trade wars are absolutely killing our economy.

We're going to continue to lose jobs.

We're going to continue to lose businesses.

We're going to continue to lose economic activity revenue all because Trump wants to bully other

countries for no apparent reason whatsoever.

His Supreme Court pick is going to further diminish the rights of consumers in this country

as we have already seen Neil Gorsuch do at every possible turn.

He has voted in favor of gerrymandering, voted in favor of restricting the right of people

to vote, voted with corporations against consumers.

That is a threat to our country.

After all, this country is not just corporations.

This country is people.

It is human beings.

We are the ones who cast the votes.

We're the ones who go out there everyday and make life livable for the rest of this country,

for the top 1% and those are the people that are getting screwed over the most from this

Trump administration.

That's what I mean when I say that Donald Trump is a threat to this country because

this country is people and people are suffering.

Hell, just a week ago, we learned that the Trump administration is out there lying to

the UN saying that extreme poverty in the United States doesn't even exist, so they're

denying the existence of 18 and a half million Americans who make less than 5, $6 a day trying

to survive on that, making under whatever ridiculously low amount of money it is each

year to where they're not even in poverty, it's extreme poverty and the Trump administration

is telling us they don't exist.

That's a threat to our country.

Telling people that a certain group of people classified by the country they come from are

coming over here to k*** you or r*** you, that is a threat to our country.

Snatching children from their parents and locking them in cages, that is a threat to

our country.

It's not the critics.

It's not the people trying to hold you accountable.

It's not the people being mean to you on Twitter.

They're not threats to this country, Mr. President.

Right now the biggest threat that the United States faces is coming from you.
