#BoycottSnapchat is trending on Twitter India.

The popular social networking platform is facing an outrage from its Indian users

after a former Snapchat employee alleged that CEO Evan Spiegel was not interesting in expanding

the business to poor countries like India and that the app was meant for only

rich people. Snapchat, however, has turned down the allegations.

This is ridiculous.

Obviously Snapchat is for everyone!

Its available worldwide to download for free, said a Snap Inc. spokesperson in

a statement given to a blog.

The company has also responded to Pomplianos other claim in his lawsuit filed at a US court

in January that Snapchat showed inflated user data and was misinformed about key

metrics. Snapchat may not be as big as Facebook or WhatsApp in India, but is quite

popular.

According to several media reports, Snapchats user base in India is around 4 million.

Currently, Snapchat is under immense pressure to improvise as its several iconic features

are being ripped off by social networking giant, Facebook.

Already, Instagram Stories has hit 200 million users, surpassing Snapchats.

As expected, Spiegels alleged comment didnt go down well with its Indian users.

Just like the Aamir Khan-Snapdeal controversy, people have started a campaign on Twitter

to encourage everyone to uninstall the Snapchat application.

Some are even claiming to have given poor ratings to the application on the

app store.

A quick glance at the reviews section of these app stores will show a bunch of

comments outraging against Spiegels comments.

At the time of publishing this story, Snapchats rating on Google Play store is 4 whereas

on iOS it has just one star from 6099 ratings for the current version.

How To Paint A Car Commercial - Duration: 25:01.

- Hello, and welcome to The Shirtless Painter.

Anyone can paint,

and anyone can paint anything they want.

And today, I'm gonna show you how to paint

a car commercial.

See, I've prepped my canvas here.

We've got sort of just the baseline commercial,

a green screen set laid out.

So, go ahead, and if you're following along at home,

take time to do that.

And we'll flash, on the screen, some of the colors

that we're gonna be using today.

What do you say let's get started?

Okay, so we have our sort of concrete floor area here,

and, of course, our 360 green screen studio, so

the first thing that a car commercial needs is a car.

And a car can be any color.

I think I'm gonna start with a nice

Lamborghini red.

Look at that.

What the heck, we'll just give it a kiss.

Kiss of yellow.

And we take our car brush,

and just begin to

just lay out the body of the car,

can be any kind of car you choose,

can be a hatchback,

can be an SUV,

anything you like.

Don't let anyone tell you what kind of car to paint.

So we'll just sort of get

the roof in there, maybe there's sort of

a rack up there where you could put your skis or snowboards.

You make the call.

Okay.

We've got the hood of our car here.

Look at that.

Now, I don't own a car.

It's been a while since I've seen one, but

this is sort of just a car from

my imagination, and I encourage you

to use cars from your imagination as well.

Look at that.

Okay, so we got our main car show sort of laid out here.

Before this car's gonna go anywhere,

we got to give it some wheels.

Okay, so we take just a little bit of our car wheel black.

And just fill it in

just like that.

Maybe it's four-wheel drive,

maybe it's a stick shift,

completely up to you.

Again, this is your car, your choice,

your business.

Just add a little,

just a little stripe right there.

Another little wheel stripe right there.

Now, we don't want our crash test dummies or,

god forbid, our people flying through the front hole there,

so we're gonna go ahead and give this car a windshield.

Okay, so we take a little bit of our Walter white here,

just give it a nice kiss across the front here,

just a kiss, you decide how far it goes.

If you want to move beyond a kiss, well,

that's between you and the car.

What the heck, we'll give it just a nice big

sort of bay window here,

let all the kids look outside

as you're driving to grandma's or grandpa's.

Beautiful.

Okay.

So we've got our studio and our car,

and no car commercial is complete without the director.

Someone's got to call the shots.

We'll go ahead and take a little bit of our director yellow.

Mix it with our car mix here.

And, what the hey,

give it just a little bit of the

Jaleel White.

Okay, and then we'll give our director

a little home over here.

There he is.

Just watching over things.

Maybe things aren't working out so well

with his film career.

I'm gonna go ahead and make this director Steven Spielberg.

Okay, so we'll just take a little Spielberg white

and just give him a little wisp of a beard.

Spielberg beard.

There we go, look at that.

And, of course,

we got to give him a signature

Spielberg hat.

I like to think this is a hat that he got

while working on Bridge of Spies.

There's his baby blue eyes.

So we've got our main Spielberg head laid out here.

Let's go ahead and give him a body.

All right, so we're gonna give him a

classic filmmaker vest,

so we take some of our filmmaker vest yellow

and mix it with our Amblin Entertainment white here.

All right.

There we go.

And now it's time for the rest.

We've messed with the vest, now let's mess with the rest.

He's got a nice red shirt on.

His friends might come up to him and ask,

"Does the shirt match the car?"

And he's got an answer ready.

So he's got one hand

sort of rested in his crotch there,

and, in the other hand, we'll give him a classic

quiet-on-set little bullhorn here

just to quiet everyone down.

There's a lot of chitter chatter going on.

Okay, so we got that.

We'll just add the quiet-on-set hole.

A nice little hole at the front of that.

Look at that.

Add his jeans here.

And he's got one leg sort of crossed.

He's done this before.

He's directed a lot of big-budget movies.

Simple car commercial isn't gonna faze him.

So we could have him in sort of a relaxed pose.

Give him the shoes,

whatever shoes he wants to wear.

You got to sit somewhere when you're directing,

and I could think of no better place

than a nice, comfy director's chair.

Maybe it's got his name on the back,

maybe it just says director.

It's none of my business.

Look at that.

Gorgeous.

Just add a little shadow on the chair here.

There we go.

There we go, he's the boss and everyone knows it.

Okay, so we've got our car and our world-famous director.

So the next thing we're gonna need is a camera.

You can't shoot a commercial without a camera.

Believe me, I've tried.

All right, so

let's go ahead and add our sort of camera

crew over here, we just add a little standard camera black,

nothing fancy,

slot that right in here.

And I think, for

a shoot like this, you're probably gonna want a tripod.

Okay.

There we go.

One, two,

three.

All right, okay, and since the

camera lens is really just the windshield of the

camera, we'll go ahead

and just add a little bit of our windshield color here,

just to sort of make it official that this is a windshield

in its own way.

And since we have Mr. Spielberg

calling quiet on set,

that means we're rolling, so we'll just add a little bit

of a record button, there we go.

Red light means we're rolling.

All right, so we got our camera, our director,

and, of course, our car.

It's awful dark in here.

What do you say we add some light?

It's always good to think of ways to conserve energy,

so why bother with fancy studio lights

when we've got a car?

What do all cars have on the front of them?

No, not hood ornaments, headlights.

Let's go ahead and add some headlights.

Let me just add a little bit of our Lamborghini yellow

and mix it with our headlight white.

There we go, just give it a nice

couple of headlights there, nice and bright.

That ought to light the studio nicely.

And while we're in there,

let's go ahead and give it

a nice little grill up front.

Look at that.

And just a little touch of a hood ornament, why not?

Okay, so this is a big Hollywood shoot.

A lot of money and a lot of people working on set,

and those people need to be fed.

Let's go ahead and add our craft services table.

So we'll just take a little bit of our crafty white here,

and here's a nice area over here,

we'll just go ahead and slide in a nice, big table here.

Excuse me, Mr. Camera,

plenty of room for both of us,

don't get upset.

Everything's under control.

All right, so Spielberg has got legs,

what do you say we give this table some legs?

Without legs, a table is really just a big plate.

So we're gonna give it some legs.

Okay.

Ooh la la, look at the legs I'm seeing here.

Nice legs on that camera tripod.

Gorgeous legs on that table.

So, on our main table shape here,

let's go ahead and just give it

a little shadow here on the side, a little table shadow.

And now for the fun part: the snacks.

Now, we've got some

hungry people on set, so

let's go ahead and give them some apples,

a couple of nice red apples,

it's fall, it's autumn time here on set.

Nice, big, juicy apples.

Okay.

And, of course,

this is an early morning,

early morning call,

so we're gonna go ahead and have a

big old tray of bagels here,

sort of get our bagel tray

purple color here.

Okay.

Okay, so we're gonna go ahead and mix some of our

bagel beige here with our white bread white.

And we'll just go ahead and add

just some little circles here,

nothing fancy, we've all seen a bagel before.

But I encourage you to have fun with it.

You don't have to stick to the standard flavors,

everything, cinnamon, raisin,

go ahead and make up some new flavors.

I'm gonna call this one,

oh, what the heck, I'm gonna call it mustard seed.

So I'm gonna use just sort of beige

and our mustard seed here.

All right.

There we go, look at that.

Some nice bagels here,

just give it a little, since it's mustard,

oh, what the heck,

just add some mustard to it.

There we go.

And you're talking to a lot of people all day on set.

People get bad breath, they're drinking a lot of coffee.

We're gonna go ahead and just give him some packs of gum,

just some nice packs of gum, we'll leave one right there.

Got a blue flavor, now give it a nice spearmint flavor.

And, for the kids,

just a little bit of bubblegum.

Nice bubblegum pink

right behind the bagels.

So we've got our camera, we've got

keeping everyone fed with craft services table here.

What do you say

we go ahead and add our sound guy?

Got to hear the audio.

We're going...

You know what?

We're gonna add our sound woman,

go ahead and just add her,

oh, what the heck,

right behind the craft services table here.

We'll give her her own shirt color.

She likes both flavors of gum,

so we'll add a little bit of green

to a nice sound woman teal.

All right, and we're gonna have her reaching high up,

high up in the sky.

Look at that beautiful woman,

and she could have gone to film school,

she could have gone to school for something else,

and just sort of found herself here,

maybe started as a PA.

It's up to you.

Completely up to you.

Okay, so we'll take a little bit of our boom pole black here

and just really...

There we go.

Look at that.

What do you say we give her a hand?

Or maybe two.

That's a little joke I make every time I paint a hand.

Give them a hand.

Maybe it's summertime,

and maybe today to work, she wore her

favorite yellow shorts.

There we go.

Nice yellow shorts.

You know what, though? There's probably air conditioning

blasting on set here, so let's make them yellow pants.

We don't want her to get cold.

It's easier that way, too.

And we'll just give her some matching shoes here.

She's got black eyes, like a shark.

And we'll give her a shock of red hair.

Okay.

I'm gonna say, in my painting, that

the woman running sound is Lucille Ball,

maybe she came to Hollywood,

things went a different way.

I'm sure she'd do a great job and be a legend

in this field

the same way she was

as an actress.

A comedienne.

All right, so we're running sound,

we've got our director in place, the car is ready to go,

gassed up.

So, we see the car, but

we don't really see what the car can do yet.

Let's go ahead and add,

why do we want to buy this car?

That's the whole point here.

So we're gonna go ahead and add a roof rack here.

A lot of car commercials are aimed at younger people.

A lot of younger people like to snowboard,

so we're gonna go ahead and just add a snowboard

to the roof of the car.

So we just take a little bit of our snowboard green.

Look at that.

And I'd like to just say a special hello

to all the mothers out there.

Without mothers, we wouldn't have people,

and, therefore, we wouldn't have painting.

So I just want to thank the mothers for providing us

with the people who paint, and for painting their selves.

Mothers can paint.

Sometimes it can be busy being a mom, but

you should always find time to paint,

even to the detriment of your children.

So we've got everything we need here for

a commercial shoot,

the only thing missing here is my favorite mother,

my wife.

All right, so we're gonna go ahead and add my wife.

And, you know what?

Maybe Mr. Spielberg thinks he's big, but

we're gonna make my wife really big.

Okay, so we'll just get a little bit of wife face

color mixed in here.

Just slop it up real good.

I'm gonna take a bigger brush here.

And there we go, just add my wife up here.

Just sort of overseeing the whole shoot.

Spielberg's focused on the creative, but

just got to have someone around to

make sure everything's okay,

make sure the craft services table is stocked with bagels.

Right now we're out of cream cheese,

and my wife is very good at keeping

the cream cheese stocked.

So we'll go ahead and add her ruby red lips here.

I think she's gonna, maybe,

at the end of the day, if all goes well,

she'll give everyone a little kiss,

including me,

and you, too.

My wife's got long eyelashes, like a drag queen's,

so we're gonna go ahead and

add those in there.

Nice long lashes.

And beautiful black eyes.

Okay.

We'll give my wife sort of a short

Liza Minnelli cut here,

nice sort of old-fashioned flapper cut.

And she's got sort of a stern

look on her face, maybe she doesn't agree with

the choice that Mr. Spielberg made.

Even he makes mistakes,

and my wife's not afraid to stand up to him.

And then we'll just add our wife body here.

Just really mix together our berry blue razz

with our hatchback red here,

and we'll get sort of a nice, muddy

maroon color.

Very regal, and my wife is a queen.

Don't let anyone tell you different.

Okay, so we'll just,

she's got sort of a nice

cable-knit turtleneck on.

It's a chilly day.

And she's maybe just reaching over here.

Maybe she's unhappy with the sound,

and she's just gonna go ahead and take over

from our sound woman.

And she's just sort of reaching in,

reaching in from off camera here.

Excuse me, off canvas.

I'm so caught up in show biz,

I'm starting to forget that I'm a painter.

Just kidding, I would never.

I would never forget.

Never forget you're a painter.

All right, so she's just sort of wearing...

Oh, what the heck.

Let's make it a big old long sweater dress

right to the floor.

Floor length.

Nice floor-length sweater dress for my wife,

my big, big wife.

Okay, and this is a big sound stage.

She's about 30, 40 feet tall,

as you could see next to the big car here,

our big, beautiful car,

big, beautiful wife.

Okay.

And what do you say we give my wife a hand?

I don't mean a round of applause, but

I sort of do mean a round of applause.

She's a very accomplished woman,

and we'll just give her long fingers in there,

just sort of reaching out.

And the final touch.

She's so big that she has to use car paint as nail polish,

so let's go ahead and give her

the same color nails as our nice car here,

just some red, beautiful fingernails.

Look at that.

All right.

Thanks for joining me on this episode

of The Shirtless Painter.

I invite you to take off your shirt and paint along with me.

There's nothing better than moms,

and there's nothing better than painting,

read my lips.

See you next time, everyone.

DR. COREY: YOUR PORES ARE THE

GATEKEEPERS OF YOUR SKIN.

THEY LET SWEAT OUT AND KEEP IN

MOISTURE, BUT SOMETIMES THEY

YOU HAVE TO TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR

PORES TO DETERMINE YOUR SKINCARE

REGIMEN.

YOU HAVE ABOUT ONE MILLION PORES

PER SQUARE INCH ON YOUR BODY AND

THEY CAN OFFER MAJOR INSIGHT

INTO YOUR SKIN'S NEEDS AND

WANTS.

IN ORDER TO LISTEN TO YO

PORES THOUGH, YOU HAVE TO

UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY'RE ALL

ABOUT.

PORES ARE TINY OPENINGS IN YOUR

SKIN THROUGH WHICH YOUR BODY'S

SWEAT AND OILS TRAVEL TO THE

SKIN'S SURFACE.

IF ALL GOES CORRECTLY, THAT

SEBUM OIL PROVIDES JUST THE

RIGHT AMOUNT OF MOISTURE TO KEEP

YOU SUPPLE WITHOUT BEING SHINY.

PLUS, SEBUM OIL GENTLY REMOVES

DEAD SKIN CELLS FROM YOUR PORES.

OF COURSE, THINGS DON'T ALWAYS

GO ACCORDING TO PLAN.

SOMETIMES, YOUR PORES GET

CLOGGED WITH EXCESS OIL, DIRT,

DEAD SKIN, AND BAD BACTERIA.

WHEN THAT HAPPENS, BEWARE OF

ACNE.

IN FACT, ALL FORMS OF ACNE

IS WHY WE HAVE TO LISTEN TO

THEM.

IF YOUR PORES ARE BARELY

VISIBLE, AND YOU TEND TO HAVE

RELATIVELY CLEAR SKIN, YOU

FORTUNATELY ARE THE BEARER OF A

NORMAL SKIN TYPE.

YOU CAN BE FAIRLY FLEXIBLE WITH

YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE.

DESPITE ITS NAME, NORMAL SKIN IS

ANYTHING BUT.

SOME ESTIMATES PUT THE

PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE WITH THIS

SKIN TYPE AT JUST 5%.

IF YOUR PORES ARE TINY BUT YOU

FEEL THAT YOUR SKIN IS OFTEN

TIGHT AND FLAKY, YOU'RE MORE

LIKELY TO HAVE DRY SKIN.

REACH FOR MEGA-MOISTURIZING

PRODUCTS THAT CATER TO THAT, BUT

MAKE SURE THEY SAY

NON-COMEDOGENIC ON THE LABEL,

WHICH MEANS NON-ACNE FORMING.

AND NEVER OVERWASH YOUR FACE AND

BODY, AS DOING SO STRIPS AWAY

THE OIL YOU DO MAKE.

BUT WHAT IF YOUR PORES ARE

GIGANTIC?

IF YOU CAN SEE THEM, YOUR PORES

ARE PROBABLY INFORMING YOU THAT

YOU'VE GOT OILY OR COMBINATION

SKIN.

COMBINATION SKIN TENDS TO BE

OILY JUST AROUND THE CHIN, NOSE,

AND FOREHEAD, WITH DRY AREAS ON

THE CHEEKS.

PEOPLE WITH OILY AREAS ON THEIR

SKIN WILL WANT TO REACH FOR

STRONGER FACIAL CLEANSERS AND

LIGHTER MOISTURIZERS SPECIALLY

FORMULATED FOR THEIR SKIN TYPE.

THOSE WITH OILY AND COMBINATION

SKIN ARE ALSO MOST LIKELY TO

HAVE PIMPLES, WHICH, AS WE KNOW,

STEM FROM CLOGGED PORES.

IF YOUR PORES CONSISTENTLY FILL

UP WITH ACNE, CONSIDER PICKING

UP ONE OF THE HUNDREDS OF

ANTI-ACNE FACE AND BODY WASHES

WITH EITHER BENZOYL PEROXIDE OR

SALYCILIC ACID OUT THERE.

BUT REMEMBER NOT TO OVERWASH AND

DRY OUT YOUR SKIN, AS DRY,

CRACKED SKIN CAN ALLOW BACTERIA

TO GET IN AND MAKE YOUR ACNE

WORSE.

BUT AS ALWAYS, IF THINGS AREN'T

GOING RIGHT, MAKE SURE TO

CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR.

Donald Trump Has No Conscience, He Only Sees Profits - Duration: 9:46.

Immediately following Donald Trump's missile strike in Syria, the media, political analysts,

pundits, they began telling us that Trump was so moved by those images that he saw on

TV of the chemical attack in Syria that he just decided that he had to act.

Well, this is a lie.

Donald Trump has not suddenly developed a conscience and I'm joined now by Chauncey

DeVega, host of the Chauncey DeVega Show and Politics Staff Writer for salon.com to tell

us why we shouldn't believe that Trump cares about anyone but himself.

Chauncey, thank you for joining me today.

Always a pleasure.

Thanks for having me.

This is really interesting.

There's so many different angles on this Syria missile strike.

It's nearly impossible to cover all of them, but one of the big ones, the first ones that

came out, was that Trump was moved by the images of these children who had died in the

chemical attack that he decided the best way to respond to this was to send 59 tomahawk

missiles to an airfield in Syria.

I don't understand that logic one bit.

Of course, obviously, it's not true.

I don't believe he was moved, but we're supposed to believe that the image of dead children

made Donald Trump want to, I guess, go kill more people.

Is that what happened?

Of course not.

Again, this is just another example of the mainstream, so called liberal corporate news

media not doing their job in a desperate effort to be possessed by war fever and to normalize

this fiend, Donald Trump.

Ivanka, I guess as his daughter, the narrative now is that his daughter is some version of

the horse whisperer and got in his ear and told him that he has to do something while

he's sitting there with the Chinese Premier eating horrible food at his overpriced resort

and giving an order to launch these missiles.

Interestingly enough Donald Trump actually owns stock in Raytheon, the company that makes

these tomahawk cruise missiles, so that's something to certainly be considered in terms

of his calculus.

This is simply one more example, one more effort of Donald Trump and his Cabal, Steve

Bannon, Miller, Anton, and others, and Gorka, of course, trying to get the Russia story

off of the front pages of the newspapers.

Again, just doing anything that he can.

Again, going back to the idea of having a splendid little war because that's wonderful

bait for the news media and it's also wonderful bait for the American people because we are

seeing a temporary bump in the poles from Donald Trump attacking, basically, an empty

and abandoned airfield after telling the Russians that the attack was going to come.

They told the Syrians who basically evacuated and only left obsolete and damaged aircraft.

Of course, again, interesting coincidence, not even hitting any of the airfield to the

runway.

Yeah, and Donald Trump had told us, he said this in an interview on Fox Business, 'Every

missile hit its target, which was remarkable, never happened before.

Best missile strike ever.'

That's what he said on Fox News.

Everything hit its target.

He omitted the fact that literally within hours of these 59 missile strikes, they were

back up and running with this airfield.

Possibly one of the biggest, I don't want to say blunders in military history, obviously

we've seen a lot of those from George W. Bush, but this was the biggest nothing that we've

seen from the US Military.

There was nothing.

All he did was boost Raytheon stock through the roof and boost his own stock within the

media who now, they're calling him presidential.

Now he looks presidential.

Is that what it takes to look presidential?

You just have to go kill people because people died.

We know at least four children were killed from this missile attack according to the

reports, four kids.

The same ones that allegedly moved him to do this and that's presidential?

I guess by definition, yeah, when you look back at the other presidents who've caused

these disastrous wars, sure.

I guess he fits right in there with Bush or Bush Senior, or Reagan, or anyone of that

caliber, but this was not presidential.

The media's behavior since this strike has been absolutely disgusting in my opinion.

Again, a fifth grader using Google could come up with his information, take him 30 seconds.

They also not holding him accountable for his previous statements.

Well this is the same Donald Trump who literally said he would tell Syrian children to their

face that they couldn't come to America and that they would have to go back as refugees

and die.

He said this.

His son, what did he say?

Described Syrian refugees as Skittles candy and I don't understand how this metaphor works,

but somehow some of them are poison, so you can't eat any of the candy.

Again, this is nothing to do with human empathy or sympathy.

Also notice that Trump and his administration have no follow up plan for what to do in Syria

afterwards.

This is rank amateurism, but again, as we saw with the raid with the Navy SEALs in Yemen,

this is serious business, this risking people's lives.

It's also resulting in people being killed.

Again, the mainstream media, again, as they have been since day one with Donald Trump,

are asleep at the wheel.

Absolutely.

What's even worse is that he's gotten so much praise from the media including those who

were, I guess, formerly his critics that four days after the missile strike, he decides

to start sending warships over to North Korea.

He tells us on Twitter he's building an armada, says that he had a good phone call with China

the night before, and we're ready to act on this menace of North Korea.

He saw what one strike did for his numbers, did for his coverage in the media, and now

he's planning on going after an even more dangerous target that, as far as we know,

has some level of nuclear capability.

We don't, I guess, have full reports on what that level is, but North Korea isn't necessarily

someone you need to go poking.

They're dangerous, yes.

They do horrible things to their own people, but one idiot on Twitter is certainly not

the solution to this, but that's how Donald Trump is approaching it at this moment.

In my Salon piece on this, I also point out this serious, serious, serious concern that

this administration, because of their hostility to the very idea of government, their hostility

to the common good, their hostility to the commons, Bannon himself saying, quoting Lenin,

that basically he wants to destroy the state, create chaos so they can impose their own

will.

You have basic parts of the government, especially the State Department, that have not been staffed.

You have career professionals who have quit because they will not work with Donald Trump.

Donald Trump is dispatching, almost like a commissars under Stalin's Russian, political

folks to monitor people who are the bureaucrats to make sure that Trump's message is adhered

to.

The head of the State Department is a man who didn't want the job and his wife as a

Christian fundamentalist and a "prayer warrior" told him that God wanted him to take the job.

Basically he's there as basically a stand in for the plutocrats and for Exxon to loot

the world.

He's an incompetent himself who apparently gets really, really tired.

He was in South Korea and he said he had to leave because he was sleepy.

I mean, so much for the myth of these great CEOs as captains of industry, but you have

level upon level of incompetence and I'm really worried, and others are, in terms of the types

of signals that you send to your adversaries, to your allies.

The signals Trump is sending, and also not sending, again, this whole idea of a black

box where Trump says, 'Well, I don't want my enemies to know what I'm going to do.'

Well, adults at the table in international relations, you send signals to each other.

That's how you prevent war.

You don't want to have to guess about a peer or adversary's intentions.

That's how you have a war.

Trump seems to be playing a game because, again, this is all about political calculus,

about distracting people from their horrible regime.

As you point out in your Salon piece, his entire presidency, this attack on Syria, and

everything else we've seen is a performance of the worst aspects of our common humanity.

I think that is an absolutely brilliant way to really describe what we've seen.

Again, it's been 12 weeks, I believe, 12 weeks since this man was sworn in as President of

the United States and we have seen the worst of the worst.

I'm afraid that we haven't seen the worst of what they're capable of just yet.

What do you think about that?

It's interestingly enough.

I just spoke to a historian who studies fascism and authoritarianism.

He's at Yale University.

He has a great book out.

His last name is Snider.

Everybody should go pick up this book.

He basically comes up with 20 ways that individuals can resist this moment.

Literally, he and I were just one the phone about five minutes ago.

He and I were chatting about what comes next.

He made a very, very, I think, incisive and disturbing observation.

Going back to Trump and his fascination with the military, his political calculi, his finality,

that he thinks that Trump will have his own version of The Reichstag fire.

Going back to World War II and Hitler's rise, where they staged an event to then use that

to create a state of emergency.

The question then becomes when Trump does this, be it through militarism, attacking

another country, God forbid something happens in this country with terrorism, will we be

able to resist?

Will that be the point of no return?

His insight's, rather, are that if we get something done within a year, we can resist,

but if the people don't stand up in every way possible in their day to day life through

votings, elections, where they donate money, through actually our interactions with each

other in terms of our common humanity, we may be too late.

I'm in agreement.

Something bad is going to happen.

I know that's vague.

Trump is going to use it to declare a state of emergency.

Absolutely.

I think that's the next step.

INSIDE... THE ITALIAN WARS! - Alpha campaign preview (ITA, ENGLISH SUBTITLES) - Duration: 22:22.

ENGLISH SUBTITLES Made by Alessandro Seregni

Hello every one and welcome back, you are with Markus 1590

and today, for the second episode of "Inside",

I want to review another Mod for Medieval 2 which is still under development.

Today's Mod is "Die italienische kriege",

that you may also know as "The Italian wars".

This project was developed by a German team,

it is set in the Italian peninsula and the nearby kingdoms

within a short time period (from 1493 to 1559),

in the middle of the Renaissance.

This Mod has already proved to be very interesting,

mainly thanks to its Battle Beta

which has allowed many fan to have a firsthand experience.

Still today's topic will not be the Battle Beta

but I will focus instead on the Alpha version of the campaign,

which I have had the opportunity to try out being a tester.

After a full and deep analysis,

I can firmly say that "The Italian wars" has achieved a full score:

the mod, in fact, provides a unique gaming experience if compared with the Vanilla version,

both in regards of kingdom management and tactical battles,

this was possible thanks to strong emphasis that was placed on historical realism.

Anyway, before going deep in to the campaign,

I want to provide you with an overview on the entire Mod:

we can start saying that, even if this historical period was already covered in the Vanilla version,

the battles will be completely different from the ones that we got used to in the official CA game.

The focus point in every battle, in fact,

will be the rocky pike formations, who's role will have a unique new added value.

In Medieval 2 vanilla, the pike formations were almost useless.

But in "The italian wars", they play a very important role.

The second key component in every battle will be the gun powder,

whose main use will be the one to specifically disrupt the pike formations

before charging in with the rest of the infantry.

I also would like to take a specific moment

just to praise the astonishing effect of the smoke coming out of the guns;

the real ability of the German modders was to create a dynamic effect with the smoke,

which will follow the wind making it exceptionally realistic.

For what concerns the single units,

the graphics are really well done,

some details worth mentioning are the traditional uniforms, the flags and even the drum rhythm.

An additional amazing feature is to have used in game the original voices:

according to the nationality the audio will change,

so that we will appreciate a different gaming experience for the chosen faction

Spanish

French

German

Hungarian

and, obviously, italian.

The only exception will be for the Muslim's factions,

whose voices will be in English but with a strong middle eastern accent.

Also the game soundtrack has been completely renovated,

both for the campaign and the battles.

Another interesting feature concerns the horse archers (or musketeers),

they will not be any longer on a perfect line but they will always have a shuttered formation.

Let's move on to the AI,

is undoubtable that this is one of the major strengths of this Mod:

the AI as been completely renovated and now it has a faster and more efficient way to react to the player's moves.

It will always try to gain the high ground

(especially when it will be in numerical inferiority)

and also to charge whenever our ranged troops will start to fire

(they will no longer simply sit duck).

Clearly the AI has also a dynamic component,

and it will be able to change its tactics during the battle according to the situation.

But lets move on to the core point of this video-review: the campaign.

As mentioned above this is just the alpha but, nonetheless,

I have found only minor faults

aside from one that has made me fail the campaigns

(but I have already notified it to the developer).

What I have experience is an overall very well structured campaign;

the map has its heart in the Italian peninsula

but it comprehends also the Balkans, Swiss land, Austria,

the southern part of Germany and portion of France and North-Africa.

Let's move on to the playable factions:

the "foreign" nations will be

the Kingdom of France,

the Kingdom of Spain,

the Holy Roman Empire,

the Kingdom of Hungary,

the Swabian League,

the Helvetic Confederation,

the Republic of Ragusa,

the Ottoman Empire

and last but not least, the Hafsids.

Within the peninsula we will find all the different Italian factions:

the Bentivoglio (the lords of Bologna),

the Duchy of Milan,

the Republic of Venice,

the Republic of Genoa,

the Duchy of Savoy,

the Margravate of Mantua,

the Republic of Florence,

the Republic of Siena,

the Margravate of Monferrato,

the Duchy of Ferrara and Modena,

The Papal State,

the Dutchy of Urbino

and the Kingdom of Naples.

Once that we will choose one faction we will start our campaign.

First of all, we have to say that the game is not monotonous at all;

even if most of the factions, as we have seen, are Italians,

the initial situation, the challenges and the roster are completely unique to each and every faction.

This will allow us to live a unique experience with every different game.

A strong driver for the uniqueness is the fact that every faction will have different initial economic and political conditions.

Opening the campaign, we will be greeted by a notification hand written by the modders

hich will provide us with a detailed explanation over the mod and some useful tips.

But let's summarize them:

the first topic will be the maintenance costs.

As in other mods (ex. Bellum Crucis) our choices will have an impact on the annual revenues.

Moving one army in the open field will in fact generate additional costs.

This dynamic is something that I really appreciate

as it makes the game more realistic.

Still in the alpha there were a few things that needed to be fixed

(not all the troops and not in every region making such a movement would generate the additional expenses).

The opening notification does warn us also in regard of the strong impact that religion has:

this aspect is particularly relevant in the HRE, the Balkans and Tunisia.

The archbishops play a central role;

this is another extraordinary innovation that will please the historians.

The title of Archbishop, in fact,

will be available only in those cities where in reality there was one

(it will not be affected by the level of the religious infrastructure).

A practical example is:

in this campaign, if you "recruit" a priest in Florence,

the next turn we will have an Archbishop,

and there will be a maximum of one for each and every entitled city.

I should also mention that to balance the gameplay

not all the historical locations have been reproduced in game.

For example, in Sardinia, there is the Archdiocese of Cagliari,

but not the Archdiocese of Sassari (created in 1441);

In fact, two spanish archbishops from the second turn was unbalanced.

But this is not all for what concerns religion.

he Archbishops are extremely powerful candidate to be elected as cardinals.

This implies that the more entitled cities we control,

the higher will our possibility to influence the Roman Curia.

And, as you can guess, having the pope support will be determinant in many occasions.

All of this was described in the opening notification

but I have not had the chance to test it in game;

the reason is that in this Mod you do not have the scroll with all the Cardinals,

but we will see later the reason.

First, in fact, I want to tell you another couple of things.

The first one is still linked with religion and is:

the Order of the Knights of St. John.

As you may know, the Order has his headquarter on the island of Malta,

which is controlled by the Spanish.

Well, thanks to the Order,

our family members, aside from the traditional military and political role,

they may play an active role on religion too.

If we will build a chapter of the Order,

the noble that will remain in that specific city

can develop a good relationship with the Knights to the point where they could become affiliate,

which will improve our relationship with Rome.

The second point concerns the mercenaries:

historically speaking mercenaries have always played a central role in all the Italian wars.

In this Mod the creators have thought of introducing the figure of the "Capitano di Ventura"

which are mercenary captains.

From what we could read in opening note,

these figures may offer you their services in case we are at war with another faction.

If we will accept the offer,

the captain and his men will appear under our command,

giving us in just one turn a full and well-trained army but whose expenses will be exceptionally high.

Some of you may think that for this reason they are not worth the shot,

well if we refuse the proposition the consequences may be even more dreary.

Probably, if you decline the offer he may join our enemies

or even worst just come and pillage our land (it will spawned a rebel army in our land).

Nonetheless, just like the roman Curia,

also this feature couldn't be tasted in game as I have never had any proposition of sort.

In my case this had happened because,

just like in any other Total War title, our campaigns are influenced by "Events";

some of them are scripted while other are generated on a random base.

Well, in this alpha version not all the events have yet been introduced.

The developers are still working on this aspect of the game,

but we can expect more, interesting new features;

if we give a look to the "campaign script" file,

we can notice a long list of historically accurate events.

Each faction will have his own specific events,

which will influence our entire campaign.

Just to give you an example,

with Florence we will have the execution of Savonarola as a unique faction event,

or the creation of the League of Cambrai.

Linked to this fact there is also another "discovery" that I have made:

with in the factions' logos area there are some flags that do not belong to any faction.

For examble, the badge of the Duchy of Florence (that will be the Gran Duchy of Tuscany).

Well this is because some of those kingdoms did changed over the covered period of time

(the Duchy of Florence was created in the 1532, while the campaign started in 1493)

so the Modders added also this aspect for what concerns historical realism, by an appropriate event.

Undoubtedly this is very interesting and will be appreciated by all the historical fans.

I do not know yet how such an event may influence the campaign,

but I like to think that maybe with a change in the government form it will impact our state management and maybe also the public order.

Generally speaking, the notifications that we will receive at any new turn

have some unique new paintings, is just a small detail but is another very nice new feature.

But let's move on from the opening notification and let's give a first look at the overall campaign:

first of all we have to be clear, due to the historical period,

we will not find the traditional Medieval 2 castles.

Cities are no longer convertible into castles

but in the map will be present some forts that the player or the AI can use to defend his position.

Being already present on the map at the start date,

and not being possible to completely destroy them,

our generals will not have the chance to build new ones.

Besides this, the forts are completely unrelated to the cities which control the region in which they are placed.

This dynamic will make more interesting all the campaigns,

as conquering a region capital will no longer be enough to fully control the land,

because the forts will remain under the control of the enemy faction.

In fact, the AI will try to fight to the last before abandoning any position.

In regards of the AI, the modders' work, in this regard, has been superb.

They have been able to adjust all the major flaws of the original artificial intelligence

(such as the unjustified war declarations);

thanks to this now diplomacy is much more realistic,

regardless of the difficulty level (almost no one will renounce to the possibility of trading with you).

At the same time the AI seems able to read in the correct way all the different situations that may develop with in the game

(for example, it will not simply charge at you but will rather withdraw with in the city walls)

making it much harder to beat.

As we have seen,

the cover period is quite limited:

for this reason the Modders have decide to divide every year in 5 turns,

one for each season aside from winter which will have two.

In this way the player will have at his disposal a fairly high number of turns

to achieve all the objectives and win the campaign.

Also the characteristic of the generals have been changed:

in my Florence campaign one of the assistants that I have had was none but Francesco Guicciardini itself.

He didn't simply play a formal role but it actually influenced the general specificities, providing unique bonuses.

Another completely renovated aspect is the one of the rebellions:

unlike Medieval 2 vanilla, where at a higher level of difficulty we would keep on seeing new rebel armies spawning,

in the "Italian Wars" this dynamic has been much more limited, making the campaign more fluid.

Speaking of the buildings:

many new ones have been introduced, allowing us to implement a better faction management.

One of them has been already been presented, and was the chapter of the Order of St. John.

But there are many more:

in the mod we will find the Jewish quarter, already present in Bellum Crucis,

which will decrease the public order but will provide us with additional income,

we will find a many different guilds, manufacturing centers controlled by important families

and even many unique historical buildings such as the "Castello Estense" of Ferrara and the "Torre della Lanterna" of Genova.

Each one of them, clearly, will provide us with unique bonuses and, eventually, even some malus.

Another completely renovated aspect are the fleets.

aval recruitment will be particularly difficult and expensive,

while in the vanilla version we just needed a dock, in "The Italian wars" we will no longer be able to do that.

This feature makes also the construction of a fleet a much more realistic:

we will no longer be able to take control over the sea with any faction (like in the vanilla)

but instead we will find a very limited number of navies in the Mediterranean,

moreover belonging to the same factions.

The reason is that there are just a few factions that can afford, since the beginning,

to build a fleet giving them a strong initial competitive advantage.

Among them, obviously, the Republic of Venice,

with a few others has a serious advantage at the beginning.

Last but not least there is the AOR system,

this feature is present in many mods and is always very appreciated by the players.

AOR stands for Area of Recruitment and it allows one faction to recruit some unique units in some specific regions, therefore enriching the roster.

For example if we conquer Tunisia with a European faction,

we will be able to recruit Muslim archers or sudanese tribesmen in all the northern Africa cities.

On a generic level is worth mentioning that all the units will have higher recruitment and keep costs if compared with the vanilla.

This does pushes the player to rely more heavily on the mercenaries and to build strong temporaries armies,

that will be disbanded as soon as the conflict is resolved.

Always speaking of single units,

we can even find a complete rename, it is purely esthetic,

but it still need some polishing too (due to a wrong italian translation).

We have finally come to the end of this review.

I want to answer immediately to the question that many of you may have: when will it be out?

Honestly I don't know how the works are going, but I think that we will have to wait still a bit more.

As we have seen, in fact, all the major features have already been done or are under way.

It was really fun to try the campaign out,

even if it was just an alpha version, and I really like this project.

Clearly, aside from some necessaries fixing,

there're a lot of features to implement,

and these things will surely need additional testing.

Anyway I will keep in touch with the developer team and I will update you with any news,

and the channel will be always available for them to promote other reviews or collaborations.

Speaking of collaborations, before saying goodbye,

I wanted to mention that the next "Inside" video will go back to "Tsardoms Total War",

as I am cooperating also with this developer team.

More in details, I have been asked to do another review of this mod,

this time I will focus on the Battle Beta which has been enriched with new playable factions.

I hope that you have liked the video, and if is so just leave a "like".

Thanks for passing by and see you soon.

Bye!
