(gentle music)

- [Narrator] Alex is excited,

his uncle Ned's coming to town

and he's been bugging his dad to get Ned a job.

Elyse is worried Steven's boss will find out

about that time Ned embezzled

four and a half million dollars

at his last gig, in Philadelphia.

Uncle Ned arrived slurring waving two trash bags

he brought in from the curb for no apparent reason.

He announces, "This calls for a celebration!"

and grabs five beers.

Ned's losing at Trivial Pursuit,

rounding the corner on that fifth beer

and tells Alex to grab him another beer.

Elyse says, "It's late and time for bed."

Ned says, "Sure thing, right after one last brewdog."

Elyse is like, "Ahem, Ned, too much sauce."

Uncle Ned mumbles some nonsense into a can.

Elyse tells her brother it's time he got a job.

Ned says nobody will higher him

after that whoopsy-daisy when he threw

4.5 million into a money pit.

Steven tells Ned he got him an interview

with a colleague of his own.

Uncle Ned says that calls for a celebration

and sends Alex back to the fridger for two more beers.

Uncle Ned is sleepless in Ohio,

having a late night starring contest in the dark

with an empty bottle of liquor.

Alex comes in for a snack

and Ned invites his underage nephew

to take a seat and turn the fuck up.

Alex says he's pulling an all-nighter

for an economics final.

Uncle Ned says, "That's all the more reason to have a beer."

which makes, zero, damn, sense.

Only, they're out of beer because Ned drank all the beer.

Uncle Ned suggests they go for a beer run

but when Alex says stores are closed

because it's after 2 a.m., Ned hears that as a challenge.

Ned saunters over to the pantry

and rounds up every container that has any alcohol,

including artichokes and maraschino cherries.

Uncle Ned says he hit the jackpot

and, while it might not be Miller Time, it's vanilla time.

Then, he slams a bottle of vanilla extract

like a guy who's, certainly, done this before.

Rock bottom has never tasted so sweet.

Uncle Ned's trashed and he wants to help Alex study.

Alex says he'll take a rain check from Ole Vanilla Breath.

Ned's pissed that Alex doesn't want his help

and asks why he's too good to join his uncle

for a tall glass of cherries.

Alex says he's never seen his uncle drunk and Ned snaps.

He gets extremely loud and incredibly gross,

saying, "You think I'm drunk?

"Well, howdy partner, I'm drunk.

"And, why the fuck shouldn't I be?"

Which makes sense since it's 2 a.m. in the 'burbs.

Uncle Ned is riding the bi-polar express,

laughing and hugging and screaming,

shit's a mess.

Alex tells Ned to sleep it off.

But, Uncle Ned says, "Nuts to that."

and tries to call a taxi by screaming,

"Taxi!" in this kitchen.

Realizing that's not how you call a taxi,

Ned leaves with his hobo margarita.

Alex is upset because he was gonna have

vanilla pancakes with cherries for breakfast

and that plan just walked out the goddamn door.

The next morning Uncle Ned asks Alex if he slept alright.

Alex is all like, "Nope.

"And, you know why I didn't sleep well."

But, Ned doesn't know because he blacked out

harder than an epileptic at a strobe light convention.

Alex says Uncle Ned has a big problem.

His mom's not hearing it.

Mallory and Jennifer got Uncle Ned

some ugly socks for his interview, very ugly.

Steve says the interview's at 11.

Ned says he'll be there with socks on.

Alex reiterates, "Uncle Ned has a drinking problem."

and his mom says, "He just likes to party

"and he's partying a little harder than usual, these days."

Then, Alex finally drops the bombshell

about that thing he did with the vanilla,

which, come on, should've been his opener.

Uncle Ned feigns surprise

over a turny bottle of hootch in his jacket.

He pours a splash in his O.J.

and his sister is like, "Bro, your interview

"is in two hours, get your life together."

Ned says he can stop anytime.

Elyse says, "Prove it."

So, he casts his morning cocktail away, down the drain.

Uncle Ned's interview is going fine

until Mr. Wertz asks him about that time

he embezzled 4.5 million smackers.

Uncle Ned says he could tell that story best

through song.

Mr. Wertz gets a phone call and Steven tells Ned

to relax and just be himself,

which is a huge mistake because Ned's self

is an alcoholic disaster.

Ned proceeds to blow this interview.

He really fucks this thing up sideways.

And, when Mr. Wertz tells Ned he forgot his socks

Ned clarifies, he actually has them ugly shits

in his pocket.

Mr. Wertz says, "This interview's over."

Ned grabs his clarinet,

deuces.

Steven says Ned showed up hammered for his interview

and he needs real help, right now,

because he's on a terminal road to addiction.

Saving Private Jameson stumbles in with champaign

because that interview he aced, calls for a celebration.

Elyse scolds her drunk brother,

but Ned says he never had a shot of getting that job.

Steven says he did until he sullied his chances

by being a fuckin' embarrassment.

Elyse says, "Psst, dumb-dumb,

"you've got male hereditary alcoholism

"and the circle won't end until you call AA.

"They've got volunteers who can help."

Alex shows Ned newspaper clippings, he keeps in his wallet,

of his uncle's past accomplishments,

which is so weird that he keeps those

next to his ass all the time.

Who does that?

Uncle Ned says, "These are garbage.", accurate,

and throws them in the fire.

Alex tries to stop him from discarding

the leaflets of his success

and Ned slaps him back to the furniture.

Steven says, "That's it, get help or get out."

Uncle Ned is cryin' like a bitch

and finally agrees to call AA.

He picks up the phone, makes one last punchline

then gets serious.

He's an alcoholic

and he needs help

and he's ready to get his life back on track.

Only, he doesn't because we never see Uncle Ned ever again

because he, probably, family tied a rope around his neck

and fucking killed himself.

So, what did we learn today?

If you're visiting family you haven't seen in a while,

showing up sober and empty handed

is better than wasted with garbage.

And, apparently, you can get drunk from vanilla extract

but, it's such a bummer, you might as well not.

And, everyone deserves a second chance,

even if you embezzled $4.5 million.

But, don't waste that opportunity by being a boozy mess

when the guy who bangs your sister

puts his neck on the line.

And, if your nephew loves you and looks up to you

don't scare him in the kitchen

or slap the taste out of his mouth like he owes you money,

even if it is, kinda, weird he keeps newspaper clippings

about you, in his wallet.

And, if you say you're gonna be somewhere with socks on,

be there with socks on, even if them shits are ugly.

See you next time, on A Very Special Episode.

Black Lung Is Back: US Falls Further Behind - Duration: 4:10.

Health professionals are reporting that advanced black lung disease is reemerging at rates

never before seen by the scientific community.

From the 1970s going into the late 1990s reports of black lung were steadily declining but

since then there's been a dramatic comeback especially in the last five years.

Joining me now to talk about that is Mollye Barrows, legal journalist for the Trial Lawyer

magazine.

You know Mollye, first show segment we do has to do with debtor's prison.

Now we see we're going backwards with the health of miners which for the 20s and the

30s was a disaster with black lung disease.

If you look at the composite of these stories.

We continue to move backwards and this is story that's kind of one of the indicators.

Tell me, what are the findings in this report?

Well it's extremely interesting because like you said, it was such an issue for so many

decades and in 1968 they passed a law that basically held the mining industry accountable

for doing more to protect its miners.

So they saw a decrease in on the job accidents and they also made some headway when it came

to a worker's health long term.

Making sure they get proper testing in this, that and the other.

During the years, over the decades when they tested from say 1970 when this rule took affect

to the 1990s you saw a decrease in cases being reported because there was also regular enforcement

of the rules that allowed these folks to get tested and created less harmful working environments

if you will.

But, what we're seeing now with a rise of cases in 2000 and now in this decade, there

are conflicting numbers but between government agencies as well as independent agencies,

they're finding upwards of a 1,000 cases of black lung which is a generic term that really

covers several diseases that are related to breathing in coal dust into your lungs.

Basically there's a number of factors that play into this but the mining industry not

abiding by rules is certainly plays no small part.

To me this story, this is a big story, obviously black lung increase.

But I think it's pardon the pun, but it kind of the canary in the mine isn't it?

It has to do with our entire culture.

We're not moving ahead in things like this.

We're moving backwards.

Like I said, we started off this show doing a segment on debtor's prison.

Now there was one time when we had a huge black lung problem and we solved it in United

States and now we're going backwards again.

Third worlds are even doing as well as we're doing in that regard.

Is there any idea what set this coal industry's response to this as well?

What are they saying?

Just like with your debtor's prison story, just like so many of the regulation stories

that we cover, it goes back to people cutting corners.

And so they're basically they don't know.

They're still basically trying to get to the root cause and determine, point a finger directly

at blame.

But so far what many believe is that it's longer working hours, so the remaining, you

have an industry's that's basically being downsized, hundreds of coal mines have closed,

hundreds of miners are now out of work so those that do have jobs are working longer

hours.

There aren't as thick of a coal stream or seam is what they call them, you have smaller

coal seams so when they dig for this stuff it's not just coal dust they're breathing,

it's rock and it's silica so it's creating a more deadly combination to create a resurgence

in these diseases.

Arguably in the 30s, 40s and 50s there were some regulations that gave coal miners some

protection but this is across the board.

This is not just in the coal mines.

The regulations have to be enforced.

That's right.

You have to have a culture and a society that says, "Regulations matter where it comes to

human health."

And as I look at this story, there's no way that I can look at this and not say there

are bigger issues here and it shows that we little by little are just turning it into

this third world banana republic.

This is how we judge how we're doing as a culture and as a society.

And this is just one more story, just like the debtor's prison that makes you really

ask that question.

If companies did the right thing because it was the right thing to do instead of looking

for opportunities to cut corners at the cost of human life and health we wouldn't be talking

about this right now.

The rules are in place to protect people.

They're looking for ways to not abide by them.

It is a race to bottom and there's plenty of people in the regulatory industry that

are more than willing to help.

Thank you.

Yes, thank you Pap.

Gun Industry: Total Immunity From Lawsuits - Duration: 7:30.

Gun manufacturers are one of the only industries in America that have immunity from facing

lawsuits.

Congress granted gun makers this power in 2005, which consequently let families who

lost children in mass shootings, like Sandy Hook and the recent event in Florida, without

any way of holding these corporations accountable.

Some of their firearms are designed specifically with the power to inflict mass damage, and

yet the law says you can't hold them responsible.

Joining me now to talk about this is RT America correspondent Brigida Santos.

Brigida, can you explain for people watching who aren't familiar with this law, what is

it?

How did it come about?

Most people have no idea that these gun manufacturers, for the most part, are immune from any kind

of meaningful lawsuit.

Yes.

So this law is the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, and it was enacted in 2005.

What it does is it provides immunity to gun manufacturers and dealers.

It basically shields them from any civil liability lawsuits in state and federal courts.

Now, this was signed by President George W. Bush in 2005 after a series of lawsuits in

the 1990s ended unfavorably for the gun industry.

It was around that time that the gun industry began lobbying heavily to Congress, and, of

course, all of that money did get the influence that the industry needed here.

Ever since 2005, people allege that the gun industry has acted negligently and carelessly

and recklessly in its marketing and distribution of firearms allowing unauthorized users and

criminals to get their hands on these weapons, all while knowing that they will be used to

carry out crimes, Mike.

Well, Brigida, it's even more involved than that.

We know that if you look at the design aspect of this, let's just talk about design defect,

there are all kinds of ways to make guns safer.

There are ways to where you can even prevent a child from ever shooting the gun without

some type of combination.

There are types of signaling devices that can be put in them that prevent the unlawful

use of the weapon.

There are half a dozen ways that are right out there in the market right now that could

be put into this users technology.

Do we know of any technology that exists that have been built into these weapons, which

are used in any of the recent shootings?

Of course, there is safe gun technology, things like wrist bands with RF ID chips in them

that would only allow the person wearing the wrist band to unlock and deploy the weapon.

There are also fingerprint technologies that can be implemented into weapons to make them

safe from accidents or preventing unauthorized users from shooting them if they are stolen.

But it does not prevent somebody like Nikolas Cruz, who purchased this gun legally in Florida

following all of the laws and rules and regulations.

So yes, there are safe technologies, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to

stop these mass shootings, especially if that user gets this gun legally, Mike.

Well, I can tell you this, a friend of mine had brought a case in New York.

It was a well plead case.

It was well researched.

It was on its way to a jury, and when Congress passed this law to prevent these types of

lawsuits, but what he found was that some guns are designed, Saturday night specials,

they're sometimes referred to, and the documents that he found behind the Saturday special,

I guess is the best way to put it, is that they had in mind using the gun.

They knew exactly how it was going to be used.

They knew exactly their market.

It was basically a bottom feeder market.

We're going to sell it cheap.

It's going to be used for exactly what we know.

It's not even used for self defense.

It's used for offense.

So he had all of the information on that gun, had plenty to go to a jury, and was prevented

from doing that because of this immunity law.

I think we're going to see more and more of that unless we get Congress to step back and

change that.

The only way you can shut these people down sometimes is take their money.

Some of the Sandy Hooks families, for example, who lost their six year old to that awful

shooting tried to sue the manufacturers of the AR-15 that gunned down their child.

How did that case turn out?

Was it actually affected by this immunity law?

So these families sued Remington Arms Company, which is the manufacturer of that AR-15 used

by Adam Lanza to murder all of those children.

Now, they sued saying that the AR-15s were created by the US military to inflict mass

casualties on the battlefield, and therefore, they should not be sold to civilians like

Adam Lanza who can misuse them.

Now, unfortunately, a judge initially ruled against these families citing the Protection

of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.

Those families have appealed to the US Supreme Court.

That case is currently pending, Mike.

So everything is lying on this case to see whether anything is going to change with this

law, Mike.

What are your call on the chances right now, for example, with all the interest in this,

for challenging this immunity through Congress?

What's your take on that?

There have been many constitutional challenges to this law.

All have so far failed.

Now, this lawsuit with the families from Sandy Hook, if the Supreme Court rules in their

favor, as I said, it will change everything, but the likelihood that that is going to happen

is pretty slim, because it's really relying on a previous Supreme Court ruling from the

1970s in which a family won against a manufacturer of a slingshot.

So they're trying to base this case on the ruling there.

I don't know that they're going to be successful here.

States can do things like California did when they repealed this law, but still 34 other

states have immunity laws protecting gun manufacturers and dealers.

So it's going to be a really tough fight here, Mike.

Yeah.

I don't see this going anywhere.

Now, think about this.

If you really analyze from the outside looking in on this case, there are so few industries,

I mean, less than three or four in the entire world that do business in America that have

this kind of immunity.

This gives you a sense of how powerful this gun lobby is.

People are always throwing up their arms.

We get questions all time, people calling us, "Why don't you bring some lawsuits about

this?

Why don't you do something about it?"

Well, the truth is very good lawyers all over the country have tried.

This immunity bill has got to go away before you're ever going to stop this.

If you sue a manufacturer that makes one of these guns that they know its a design defect,

they know it's not going to be used like we would expect it to be used, if you'd just

be able to take them to court and take their money away, put them out of business, then

the next manufacturer would change the way they do business.

This is an easy solution.

Unfortunately, you have Congress, again, getting in the way of any chance of changing all this.

Brigida, thank you for joining me.

LGR - The Sims 4 Jungle Adventure Review - Duration: 10:13.

The Sims 4.

Man, this and Skyrim are like the cockroaches of games in recent years.

I keep forgetting it exists, then every so often it scurries out from the darkness and

people are either excited or confused.

Sometimes both, like how you can dress up in Sims 4

llama costumes in Final Fantasy XV now.

Mmkay.

And then there's the topic of the day, Jungle Adventure,

the sixth game pack for The Sims 4.

Once again it costs $20 and once again it's bringing back a slice of gameplay from The

Sims 3, specifically the world adventuring from World Adventures.

But as you might guess from the title, it's no longer a world you're adventuring within,

but a single jungle and a single adventure.

As is Sims 4 tradition, this pack snatches an idea that players enjoyed in the past and

whittles it down until it fits into the game's more limited framework.

And I don't exactly blame them either, since the cutting-down approach certainly worked

for Cats & Dogs if the crazy sales numbers are any indication, currently being the highest-selling

expansion pack to date.

So let's see how the approach works for Jungle Adventure!

As always you get some new clothing and hair straight away.

And it's about what you'd expect for a pack geared towards hacking your way through

dense plant life and getting tourist-wasted in cantinas: pith helmets, colorful shirts,

vests, and pants, a new tattoo, a few new hairstyles, and some hiking shoes.

Well, at least when it comes to adults.

Kids and toddlers don't get much of anything, beyond a hat and a couple shirts.

I was also hoping they might add a few more outfits or accessories for pets, since after

all, you can take your pet along as a jungle companion.

But nope, nothing.

Whatever though it's time to take a trip to some jungles, and to do that you whip out

your phone and opt to take a vacation.

This can be from one to seven days, or even longer if you

choose to extend your stay once you're there.

The land you'll be exploring is Selvadorada, a fictional mishmash of Central and South

American cultures that's blended together to make a new

world divided into two main sections.

There's the Puerto Llamante Marketplace and the Belomisia Jungle, the latter of which

contains several hidden lots that are only accessible if you go "adventuring!"

Your adventure commences by renting a place to stay and then

trekking out to visit the Belomisia Trailhead park.

Once you're there you'll see a sign that warns you some bad crap might happen and you

may want to take precautions, but this is The Sims so there's nothing stopping you

from clawing at thorny vines with your bare hands.

This is not advised however, so it's a good idea to wander into town and visit the marketplace.

This is a small collection of food and vendor stands that pop up every so often during certain

hours, much like the festivals in the City Living pack.

So you've got a food truck for trying out some local cuisine, and a few tables with

various items for sale that will be vital to surviving the jungle.

Be sure to check both the vendor items menu and the objects laid out on the tables, because

while the former stays the same the latter will change each time you visit.

With a machete in-hand you can start slicing into the overgrowth.

Oh and it might also help to use a sim with the new Jungle Explorer aspiration, because

why not get some extra reward points with your jungling.

After you've killed more vines than Twitter in 2016 you can pass through the newly-cleared

gateway, which provides you with one of those little "choose your own adventure" type

pop-ups that The Sims 4 likes to use in place of having

something awesome play out with your actual sims.

Depending on your choice and whether or not you have a specific item or skill, you'll

get a reward or a punishment like an item or a emotional buff, and you're teleported

to a new part of the map.

Welcome to the jungle!

We've got fun and games.

We've got everything you want, as long as what you want is to methodically whip the

camera around looking for something shiny to click on.

There are trees and plants with fruit and berries, including avocados, black beans,

and a tree that grows berries to instantly change your

sims' emotions because of course there is.

After all, what's a new Sims 4 pack without another slightly-different way to directly

make sims confident or angry or horny or whatever.

You'll also find some conspicuous piles of dirt.

These work exactly the same as collecting metals and crystals and all that kind of stuff

that's already in the game, but as you level up you'll glean an increasing number of

interactions for each dirt hole.

Like eventually you'll unlock the ability to start an excavation, which lets other sims

join in the fun and dig up everything from old statues, to ceremonial knives, to crystal

skulls, fossilized mustaches and more.

After this, your sims can ship them off to be cleaned and authenticated, or you can just

do it yourself if you've got the skills and an archaeologist's table.

It's a lot of busy work, but I actually kind of like it in this case since there's

something enjoyable about cleaning up old items and putting them on display.

Not only does it provide more art to place around your house, but it also gives you some

valuable artifacts that, surprise surprise, affect the emotions of nearby sims.

Or sometimes you'll uncover a fake that doesn't have any real value but is still

pretty amusing in and of itself.

Then there are relics, some of the most powerful new items in the pack.

These provide the ability to place blessings and curses on sims once you've assembled

the requisite components, and we'll get to what these can do in a bit.

But yeah, back to exploring the jungle, which really does look pretty nice.

There may only be one environment, but it's a decently varied one with waterfalls, bridges,

cliff sides, and all sorts of lush vegetation.

Still, its limitations are apparent pretty quickly since each jungle location is actually

quite small with only a handful of interactive items in it.

But you do get a choice of pathways from time to time, and you can't explore the entire

jungle in one vacation since it only allows a certain number of gates to be passed through

per trip, providing an artificial incentive to take multiple trips.

And you'll want to explore enough to find the Hidden Temple, a randomly generated building

that contains a variety of mazes, traps, treasures, and puzzles.

Well, I say puzzles, but what I really mean are things that you click on, let a sim examine

for a minute, then depending on your skills and random chance

you'll either find out the answer or you won't.

There's not much in the way of logic or challenge, it's a bunch of clicking on pillars,

totems, pressure plates and bowl offerings and seeing if your sims have the attributes

and luck needed to pass to the next section.

Yeah, sticking your hands into dark wall holes is never advised, unless you're in The Sims

4 and are looking for something fun to happen.

Sometimes it'll only be a spider or some creepy crawly, other times you'll be poisoned

and have to seek out an antidote in town, other times you'll

randomly do something right and you can move on.

And each new room of the temple will provide some treasures in the form of dig sites, simoleons,

relics, and even treasure chests full of, well, treasure.

There are also skeletons.

*air horn!* *skeleton laughter*

Hehe, ah I've missed skeletons being in The Sims, and the

fact that they're back was the single biggest reason I was curious to play this pack.

Unfortunately they're not a new life state exactly, so you can't go about making your

own skeletons in Create A Sim or being a skeleton full-time.

But you can at least find and interact with them when you come across them, and even become

one temporarily by way of blessings and curses.

Remember those relics I mentioned earlier?

Well one of them is a death relic that will turn your sims into a skeleton for a few days.

Another one will even summon a service skeleton to take care of chores in your household.

It's no Bonehilda, but it'll do in a pinch.

Yah, collecting and assembling all of the relics are one of the main things to accomplish

while adventuring, and again it's a lot of compulsive busy work

but the results can be enjoyable while it lasts.

Especially when using a relic results in an unexpected death like spontaneous combustion.

*groans of combusting agony*

The other big thing to do while you're in Selvadorada is to level up your culture skill.

As you increase your Selvadoradian Culture level you'll be able to partake in more

local activities, like doing a local dance and using local greetings

and playing local songs on the guitar.

And this is accomplished by just... doing things.

Everything from talking to locals to studying artifacts to drinking cocktails results in

an increase in the new Selvadoradian Culture skill.

Yeah that's right, there's a culture skill that you can max out

by drinking yourself into oblivion.

It's a slow way to level up, but hey, if you believe in yourself you can do it.

Now that is the look of a cultured sim.

While this is mostly only useful while visiting Selvadorada, there are of course the expected

new items that are useful everywhere, like the

four new chairs and a new stool that you get.

There are over 170 new items in build mode in general, with a little bit of everything

from surfaces to beds to pillars to plants and wallpapers and a whole bunch of knicknacks,

all fitting in with its stylized faux-Latin American aesthetic.

Good stuff if you're into building lots in tropical and desert environments,

which I admittedly am.

You even get a barrel grill which makes me happy for some reason.

I don't know I just like repurposed-looking items like this.

There's also a handy light-up display box for showing off all the historical artifacts

that you've stolen, er plundered, er COLLECTED from the land and people of Selvadorada.

Although, it does seem like sims are oddly attracted to using it

for putting down food they've prepared.

I'm not sure why but if they make some food and it goes missing, it's probably in the

display case next to the cursed skulls.

And yeah, that's The Sims Jungle Adventure game pack.

It's $20.

Is it worth picking up?

I mean, if you're looking for something different to do in a pretty environment in

The Sims 4, this certainly provides that.

But I wouldn't think of it as a long-lasting overhaul to the game.

I mean, I do appreciate all the new collectibles, the new latin radio stations, spicy foods

and drinks, and being able to woohoo in more bushes.

But I felt like I had my fill after only a few hours of playing, having raided all the

jungles I could find, befriended every skeleton, and maxed out my skills in drinking Selvadoradian

liquor and digging up all their priceless artifacts to

plop onto the ground next to my pool.

It's a fun time and it does some fun things, but whether or not the new stuff is what you

want in your game is obviously up to your own preferences.

For me it's a neat distraction and I'll always welcome more ways to make sims perish,

but I also don't think it's a vital expansion either.

What it is though is good for a bit of fun and I'm fine with that.

*upbeat outro music plays all upbeatedly*

And if you enjoyed this look at this Sims 4 pack then why not

check out some of my others, I've done a bunch of them!

And I do all kinds of videos every Monday and Friday right here on LGR.

And as always thank you very much for watching!

How To Ease Withdrawal Symptoms When You Quit Sugar? - Duration: 5:07.

How To Ease Withdrawal Symptoms When You Quit Sugar?

How to Ease Withdrawal Symptoms when you Quit Sugar?

An extra and regular sugar intake mostly cause diabetes (generally speaking) which may lead

to many other problems in the body like blood pressure, hunger and obesity.

While taking less sugar lowers the risks of many diseases according to significant research.

In order to avoid such risks, sugar has to be avoided but the sudden abandonment of sugar

is not easy for addicts who treat sugar like the drug.

A nutritionist and an author of well-established research Brooke Alpert observed that she has

not found even a single person who did not suffer any reaction to sugar quitting.

Though sugar is not that much strong ingredient of our daily routine diet apparently but in

fact, it really reacts like a drug to the body.

Dr Alpert further explains the elimination of sugar would have unpleasant side effects

and instant elimination might cause serious implications.

Some of the major side effects can be a headache, fatigue, cranky feeling, and irritation.

That is why, it is recommended that if you are really serious about reducing dependence

on sugar, you must have to take few appropriate measures beforehand to deal with possible

consequences.

Cut it all out at once Dr Alpert continues to say alcohol and sugar

are slightly same.

If you are intended to quit alcohol, you'll be advised to drink less similarly for sugar,

it would be suggested to reduce the frequency and quantity of sugar intake in routine meals.

By continuous reduction, you will be able to beat consequences and side effects and

eventually you'll achieve your desired end.

Along with reducing white sugar intake, Alper further suggests taking naturally found sugary

food articles like fruits to maintain the performance of metabolism.

In the end, quit the sugar for plain three days and depend on natural intake as she said

medically three days are enough to quit the old habit and to establish a new one.

Eat well to feel well After quitting sugar, one may find his body

messing with his moods and body functioning causing irritation and disturbed energy level

so Alpert instructs to take healthy diet to compensate and natural intakes to maintain

sugar level in body and blood.

The best way to live cool is to eat well to full satisfaction and rely on sugar found

in your diet comprising healthy fats.

Drinking more water can help in resisting fatigue and headache to keep you active throughout

the day.

Eating vegetables, fruits, organic proteins, nosh and snacks for fibre and vitamin-rich

food will make your appetite fill and boosts your energy level to resist any change in

the body.

Combat carving the right away When you cut out sugar, it must have physical

and emotional setbacks on your body and the body will play you a trick making craving

hard.

It is to be noted that if you are eliminating sugar from your routine diet, it would never

mean you will go totally blind about sugar.

Onion, garlic, lime and other compounds can help your body to sustain.

Cold brew or unsweetened iced tea can be another best strategy to intake required sugar quantity.

It means you just have to quit white sugar direct intake and use natural means because

sugar is necessary for smooth functioning of the body.

Add back natural sugar slowly When you quit sugar abruptly for three days,

it changes your body addiction to sugar.

Thus, to maintain blood sugar level normal, one should start taking natural sugary elements

like honey and maple syrup into the diet.

Sweets taking after reasonable hours would taste different for you because it alters

your ability to taste sugar while making tissues less sensory to sugar and you will find new

taste in natural elements of sugar.

Alpert recommends adding back sugar intake by adding two servings of fruit like apple

or banana and chose unsweetened dairy products like plain yoghurt.

In this way, withdrawal symptoms would see a demise and body will come back to routine

performance in the end.

Finally, it will be set to minimum levels of natural sugar intake and congrats to the

practitioner who has finally detoxed.

Brown sugar interestingly distinctive than white and have no worries regarding eating

but a little.

Alpert tells she intentionally let people take a certain amount of brownies weekly for

the sake of taste that a body used be.

Depriving oneself entirely from a certain food is not natural though but for the greater

good and healthy cause, bold actions have to be taken.

Megtanultam Snowboardozni // Learning to Snowboard - Duration: 4:53.

Hey Everyone! Last week I went skiing with my family

and I tried snowboarding for the first time

Since I had my phone and an action cam with me, I was able to capture some footage

I'd also like to thank my girlfriend and my mother who helped me with it.

I got the inspiration to make this video from a Youtuber named Mike Boyd,

who regularly makes videos about himself learning new things.

I think this is a very good idea, and I find it motivating.

If you still don't know him, make sure to check his channel.

Our first location was Mátraszentistván, Hungary.

I joined a learning group on the first day to learn the basics of snowboarding,

and I had to realize soon that it's not as simple as it seems.

During the classes, first we learned how to fall,

which is a very important part of snowboarding,

and then we learned how to control the board with your feet and knees.

Here you can see a footage of me trying to slide in one way

and then to the other with the help of my instructor.

By the way, this technique is called "fall leaves":

you go down the hill like the leaves fall from a tree, going from one side to the other.

This way you won't speed up.

Then, as the classes ended, everyone went his own way, and we started sliding.

A lot of people warned me that I should be prepared to fall a few times.

Well, yeah.

In the beginning I spent more time on the ground than on the board,

but already at the end of the first day I was able to slide down on the beginners track

without falling.

I know this might seem slow for you, but believe me,

I felt myself like this at that time.

Then, on the second day

I was still clumsy during my first slides, I had to get used to it again,

but after that, it went like a charm. I started to enjoy the whole thing,

went down a few times, and at the end of the second day

I was going like this

We also wanted to go out on the third day, but unfortunately

I wasn't able to start our car.

It was minus 16 degrees Celsius at that time, and our Diesel just couldn't start.

After the help has arrived and we finally managed to start the car, it was already too late

and we decided to go home,

but we agreed with my girlfriend that we will still continue.

Our next destination was Visegrád, Hungary.

At the end I was already able to pull off a "trick":

I was sliding down and made a 360 turn very slowly

you can see this on the footage.

It was filmed from quite a distance, I don't know how well you can see it,

but I hope it's still visible.

Thanks for watching this video. I hope you liked it,

and that it will inspire you to learn something completely new.

If you would like to see more videos about me learning new things,

then leave a comment and make sure to subscribe to my channel.

See you next time!

Your Life Now Vs. In The Past - ASAPScience Parody - Duration: 2:54.

Times feel rough with the high prices of the biobags, electoral elections,

the wrong subjunctions and those reality shows that .. is there really someone who watch them?

But as the memes roll in about it being a horrible time to be alive

no, no, no, wait .. but what meme are you watching to? With

(some funny facebook pages)

I think that is the best time to live and I wonder ..

how did our ancestors to live in the past without watching these wonders of the web.

But you might be surprised to see your life now vs what it would have been in the past.

Think about you were in the Ancient Egipt and your 5600hp Hammer

were left without LPG (Liquid Petrol Gas), what you would have done?

Or if I you were in the ancient Greece and you left the Gotto d'Oro? Or if you were been in the kingdom

of the Celts and the battery of your cellphone discharged! You should have ridden up to the Chinese empire

to find the necessary adapter. Of course, things aren't perfect today

The Albero Azzurro (italian tv show for kids) 30 years ago was definitely better than that junk of recent tv shows for kids.

Such as masha and the bear or the less recent Teletubbies, that generate mental disorders already in a tender age

After the discovery of America and coffee,

in Europe it was finally possible to build the first offices. First, without coffee, no one

would never know what to do in a closed place for all that time.

Between 476 and 1978 BC, people got sick of cough for millions of times.

But nobody ever died because it was played on the dirty ground.

Today with the vaccines, people get sick. But the MEDIA, that in the 1800s speak about these args

today they do not talk about them. But we must recognize human efforts

and above all the life that allows us to go forward despite certain phrases like

"Dogs are better than children".. we wonder how it is possible for humans to be not yet extinct.

Watch our videos of the ASAPScience parody
