hello everyone and welcome to my look through the largest lego collectible
minifigures series to date with 22 figures this one covers the harry potter
and fantastic beast series these are a blind bag two figures that come in
single packs like this I'm going to take you through each one by one so I'm gonna
look at these in the order they're presented on the collection sheet that's
included with every figure and it does start us out with Harry Potter with the
new medium sized legs this is good I wanted to show you this early on it's
something that a lot of people are really looking forward to it's a shorter
than normal set of legs that is still able to bend so you can still put the
figure into a walking pose you can still sit it down and it gives you something
in between also the shortest kid-sized legs and the adult leg so that's
something that a lot of people are gonna be looking forward to seeing just used
in in all of Lego's themes hopefully eventually and it just introduces some
additional diversity that we can have with our figures with their height this
has the full Gryffindor robes on and there is no alternate face for this
figure you just get that one single face and he comes with Hedwig obviously next
up Hermione in full school robes with again medium sized lakes not the same
prints used for the torsos here this is just for her looks pretty good and she
does come with Cruikshank just an existing mold of cat that we've gotten
previously but the standing pose that's a little bit more a little bit more
present than the old one that was kind of down on the ground most of the time
once again no alternate face for this figure just that one next up here's Ron
add again the same general Ager at the same rough time with the medium-sized
legs and he comes with Scabbers who has what I believe will be an exclusive
print on the head for a little tough to have hair there I think
just remain exclusive to this specific figure it's a relatively new mold for
the rat and again we get a very similar view from around the back on this figure
these all have very similar looks which is appropriate of course and once again
just a single face now we move back in time and look at Draco Malfoy as a
youngster younger than the last three figures we saw he has the short legs and
this is set up in his full Quidditch outfit as a seeker he's got his Nimbus
2000 one broom there which is a dark green collar believe that's a new color
for that piece he has the cloak on or the the cape piece there comes with a
golden snitch so this is the cheapest and easiest way well net not necessarily
easiest but certainly cheapest way to get a golden snitch it's a nice new
piece for this year and this cape piece is nice and soft so you can easily turn
it up like that to see the print on the back of the torso and there's only one
face for this figure as well Luna Lovegood is a well-set-up figure in this
series he comes with the exclusive print for that 2x3 tile to show the issue of
the Quibbler there she has a very nice torso print as the exclusive print for
the cloth skirt piece that goes all the way around the legs underneath there are
the new medium length legs as well and those are just in a plain blue with no
print that's a new hairpiece for 2018 introduced with the Harry Potter series
of The Wizarding World Series in general of sets she comes with the purple
colored bag on the side her purse and she also is the first figure for me to
show you to have a second face and this is very good because it shows the
Specter specs here's Neville with a Mandrake and a pot
you can put the Mandrake in the pot and you can pull it out and you had better
be wearing the ear protection which he has built in to his hairpiece here
that's an existing part for the hair with the earmuffs but it's a new color
combination with the dark tan color for the Year
earmuffs section of it it's got a little bit print on the back of the torso
that's just appropriate and he does have an alternate face so you get those two
in total and man Drake has two new pieces with the bottom piece having a
hollow stud connection on the top of it and the top piece is a nice little bit
of foliage Cho Chang brings in some ravenclaw representation to the series
she also has medium length legs and they included an owl here which is supposed
to represent a barn owl and that is not her owl that is an owl that she would
use to send off a package this figure has more print to be seen on the back of
that torso but no alternate face but some of the one face that is there was
obscured so let's take another look at that yeah it's pretty straightforward
one thing I really appreciate here though is the use of a gender-neutral
torso so if people want to get multiple of this figure to create custom
ravenclaw students including males they can here's Dean Thomas with yet another
variation of Gryffindor robes you get different prints here for the torso hip
piece and legs all so it's nice that they gave us so much variation in just
this one series that is a print for the flag that he's waving there that looks
pretty good and he gets some print again a little bit different around the back
this one has to include the details of the scarf just one face here as well boo
hiss it's you know who Lord Voldemort here gets the white colored wand the
only figure that gets that that color for that mold he comes with Nagini who
is a brand new mold rather long and awkwardly that snake does not fit onto a
studded baseplate the design of it is not really it's not really synced up
with the shape and size of Lego studs so it kind of just needs to be sat on top
of things I personally feel like the nostrils for Voldemort here are too
pronounced because it's just so so strange and so
shocking to see any sort of representation of anything knows like on
a Lego minifigure that those really stand out I think more than they ought
to I think they should have gone with dark grey or maybe even a light gray
just to tone that down a bit notice that he does have the printed
exclusive printed form of the relatively new I guess you could call a skirt piece
can also be used just for robes but that's the exact same height as standard
adult length legs I've used them on a handful of figures to date and just
allows that to fit more consistently compared to the old regular slope pieces
here's Dobby with very grateful eyes which is very appropriate to go with the
accessories or vice versa it's Tom Riddle's diary a very beautiful
printed new style book piece and or pair of pieces and the sock there and sock is
presented as being on a page in the ideas that you would put that page in
the book and Dobby would find it there very good good choices of things all
around Dobby has dual molded legs although the transition from the tan to
the light flesh color is very subtle here's divination professor Trelawney
who has very ornate prints and a dual molded hairpiece with the medium nougat
color and the dark orange actually being separate plastics plus there's print on
top of that with a couple different colors her teacup piece is actually two
pieces the cup itself is one thing and then the saucer is another just has a
stud on the top of it so if I separate those out the saucer just has a
partially or at least an open stud I was gonna say yeah partially a whole host
I'm an open stud and also an anti stead on the other side so that's a very nice
pair of pieces hopefully those will be made available and more sets in the
future there's no alternate face on this one and there's no print on the back of
the torso but the hairpiece gives it a lot
of presents from behind as well here's Cedric Diggory with the Triwizard cup
it's just an existing piece that they've reused for the trophy they're in a light
gray color and they printed it up with this exclusive print that's an important
piece to include in the series strangely for me my favorite part of this figure
is actually the printing down the side of the trousers there it's just very
very striking just looks very well done and they had that on both sides and once
again no alternate face for this one just the main one pretty good print
around the back and you noticed that the trophy is also printed all the way
around the lip of it on the front and the back the megaphone was one of the
first ever pieces to be used as a minifigure accessory decades and decades
ago so for Professor Flitwick here to get a
brand new more realistic mold of megaphone is somewhat historic in a way
I don't know why I'm so drawn to that piece but it's just interesting to me it
has an open stud at the top wanly Hollow and there is no real normal connection
point for the end of it it's an irregular sized bar on the side but yeah
there's a Professor Flitwick figure here it has well with the bowtie
he's got the short legs new hairpiece that's cool that looks pretty good
and it looks generic enough I can see that being used for many different
characters in the future including unnamed ones and just regular city
themes and such and he has the little tails done as a fairly short cloth piece
in the older style of cloth to represent the tails of his suit mad-eye moody is
one very well-done figure here this has very good prints including dual molded
legs one of them being half dark tan and half dark blue the other being half dark
tan in half metallic silver to represent his his full metal prosthesis there and
the dark blue color that's used for the print for the upper part of the
leg it just matches almost perfectly the color of the plastic so it's very very
sleek it's very slick the way that the transition occurs from from the print to
the plastic very good hairpiece there that is absolutely appropriate and works
really well with that face there you can see the distinction distinction between
two colors of plastic on each of legs and they do allow you to do the
transformation to Barty Crouch they include the extra hairpiece forum like
so so you have both forms and this little thing here is a vial of Polyjuice
potion it's a maraca piece that is fully molded
in gold and then just the entire lower section of it well lower as viewed this
way is painted with a very very shiny Brown so this is fabulous this is Harry
Potter in his cloak of invisibility and that is just a wonderful huge iridescent
piece there it's actually double sided you're not even seeing the true magic of
this piece just yet I mean that looks really really cool and you know there
are no camera tricks here this is how it actually looks in real life and as a
matter of fact paint depend upon your lighting situation you may see even
cooler patterns than this really nice looking part really huge it does come up
fold it up a little bit in the package but underneath there area is wearing
pajamas good print for the torso there and a nice print for the short legs with
the light flesh color painted on to the feet to make them look just bare footed
and that's that's really well done because it's printed evenly all the way
across on all three sides for each which is very much appreciated you know I
don't print down the center but that's perfectly reasonable this is a figure
that has only one face but that's fine as well and check out the other side of
the okapis it's it's the same part this is
the one that has the iridescent on one side but it has this wonderful print
here with multiple colors and it just it just looks really really cool this is
just fantastic and I I love this I love that part and I think the whole figure
is just well done nothing here is bad in my opinion
here's Dumbledore mark 2 if you will in his blues very beautiful prints for this
one also uses the relatively new skirt or slower robes piece for the proper
height you know to give the same height as a regular adult minifigure he comes
with the pensive which is just a deep-dish piece with the metallic blue
print in the base of it that actually looks pretty good you know I probably
want to build that up a little bit to give it more of a pedestal but it's a
nice part this has a new hairpiece which is even above and beyond the already new
hairpiece they introduced in the sets for a Dumbledore this one has the cap on
it which has the sand blue color on the top and also the little golden tassel
which is a nice color and beneath that hair no alternate face but there is just
one single face which is complete and I suppose you could use that to represent
perhaps a younger Dumbledore and without the beard you get to see the rest of the
print on the front of that torso that was it for the Harry Potter figures and
now we move into the fantastic beasts figures starting of course with newt
scamander not bad-looking has a little bow truckle they're just
peeking out on the torso there has the NIF fleur which is an absolutely
adorable little accessory small animal with the dual molding with the flesh
color and black in the printed eyes he also has the special new suitcase or
briefcase piece or pair of pieces actually I can be opened up you can put
just very small items inside but it looks very good it's nice they
can actually be opened of course he has his his wand and those legs are dual
molded with the dark blue and dark brown and that's just that
Tina Goldstein is another one of the most well produced figures in this
series in my opinion with just incredibly crisp printing dual molded
legs there and again well matched prints to go between the printed portion and
just the difference in plastics they're pretty well registered not perfectly but
pretty close good opacity with the prints I believe
this is the first time we've gotten that color for the hot dog buns in the medium
nougat there we've gotten the dark red colored Frank before the hair and hat is
actually not dual malted even though it looks like it it's just really well done
with the the hair color actually printed on there or painted on there there you
see the dual molded legs again and this one does have an alternate facial
expression here's Jacob Kowalski with another excellent print for the torso
though nothing for the hip piece nothing for the legs I think they could have
brought just a little something down into the hips would have been a good
idea no print around the back of the torso either but for special stuff
this one has another of that same briefcase piece or suitcase it's kind of
large for Lego parts but now for Lego many things that has two exclusive new
prints for the one by one round tiles a couple of his sweets there Queeny
Goldstein is an example of a figure with dual molded legs which is a good thing
with prints not done quite so well which is not such a good thing you can see how
the flesh color that's printed over there to try to continue the skin tone
is a different hue on the lower part than the actual skin tone the light
flesh skin tone plastic and it's not opaque enough to fully cover up the dark
blue above so it kind of just looks very awkward there but everything else on the
figure I think is done pretty well she has I believe
that's a brand-new mold for the strudel and that's also printed nicely on it and
I think that's a color that I haven't seen before for the hairpiece that's
Legos regular flesh just flesh color the skin tone for this character is called
light flesh and then that almost orangish looking color is just
considered just flesh regular flesh greetin's bear bone is one of the few
figures in this entire series to not include a wand his only accessory is a
exclusive printed 1 by 2 tile piece a little bit of propaganda to hand out
there well done torso for this one I think the shape of
the hair is absolutely perfect although maybe it's scale is just a little bit
enlarged side for for that character but I think it's the best match in Lego for
sure he's a little peak of an alternate face here and he does have that
secondary face for when he's manifesting the full obscure you'll power and it's
interesting that they actually went with a metallic ring around the edges of the
white there that's nice here is the final figure at the last and it is one
that I feel compelled to rant about significantly
this is Percival graves and this figure looks fantastic the face is is just a
perfect Lego if ocation of the actor from the movie the prints on the torso
and the hip and the leg pieces line up well and just look excellent to me
he gets the two colors for the hair there that looks very good print for the
arm print for the arm again very crisp very well done and that print on the
back of the torso is you know it's fine it could have been a little bit more
detailed but I don't know what else they would have done there and this does oops
include the second hairpiece to go with the second face for the great
Grindelwald reveal so it is really two figures in one technically if you want
to display all of the characters you know you want to get a second one of
these in which case are IPU by which I mean and be very difficult to get this
figure because it's rarity has been artificially inflated dramatically
they include only one of this figure in each case of sixty it's the exact same
thing that Lego did for the classic police officer figure in the last
regular collectable minifigures series and I absolutely despise that practice
because what it does to the Lego community is deprive most people who
want this figure of this figure and it drives resellers and scalpers to either
go to every single case of these that can be found on any store shelf and just
feel through all of the bags pick out this particular one and put it straight
on eBay or it drives them to buy entire cases before they even go out to where
other fans even have a chance to randomly get them or to feel for them
for that matter and I really hate that they do that and I think that Lego
deserves significant hate for doing that it's a very bad practice the idea is
that by putting in something that's extra rare it makes people want to buy
more of these you know people actually want them to buy more of the mystery
bags hopefully hoping for that chance to get
the special one that's the idea the practice does not work out that way in
practice scalpers buy boxes and boxes and boxes
and boxes of these things and then they turn around they find the one of this
figure they put it on eBay for you know ten times the price or they hold on to
it for a year and they put it up for 20 times appraised or something like that
that's what happens it just takes toys out of the hands of people who want to
get them and as their prices to be artificially
inflated does that make more money for Lego since they are ultimately selling
the entire cases probably ultimately I don't it just seems like a better
business practice practice to me especially for a company that prides
itself on on very high morals and ethical standards to just let people who
want to figure or want any product just go ahead and buy it and whatever
quantities they like that would have been my preference that's the exact
opposite of what they've done here and I hate it I also have one far less
interesting issue with this series and it has to do with the stands the stands
seem to be poorly moulded all of them with the figures that I've gotten where
the figures feet just don't quite connect the way they're supposed to
either the studs are a little bit too far apart or they're just slightly too
large and they push the feet away this is something brand new to me I've gotten
all the series up to now never had this issue before overall though this is
still a fantastic beast of a minifigure series with a lot of new colors new
prints really really good work some new molds as well so I'm very happy that
this series exists I think it's going to make a lot of fans happy some of the
figures could have benefitted from an additional face print or an additional
print somewhere else on the body where it's missing where there's none but I do
feel that is fully offset by some other wonderful inclusions here and levels of
quality and detail that are above and beyond what's expected I hope you've
enjoyed this look at this series thank you very much for watching and I will
talk to you again as soon as I can in my next video
bye for now
