Mouse infestation, can you hire a house cleaner to come clean up your mouse infestation?

That's a great question, and we're going to talk about that today.

All right, on to today's show, which is from a homeowner who has this question.

Speaker 2: Is it acceptable to hire a cleaning lady if you have a mouse infestation to clean

up the poop, and you just want her to kind of deep clean, you know?

Angela Brown: All right, so the answer to your question is yes you can hire a house

cleaner to come in and clean up all the mice poo and the mice infestation, but my concern,

and I hear people in the background of your conversation there, and so my concern is not

just that we come in and clean up the mice poo and the mice infestation, but that we

actually terminate the mice infestation and we put an end to those mice.

There are a couple of things that I would encourage you to do first before you hire

somebody to come in and clean up, because if we don't fix the mouse problem, in just

a minute there's going to be a whole bunch more mice poop.

Now, here's what we know about mice.

Mice breed at a prolific level, okay?

They just keep having babies over, and over, and over again, and so if you have a mouse

in your house, or maybe a couple of mice, they can just keep duplicating themselves,

and now you got bunches of mice.

As soon as you see one, you want to eradicate that immediately.

You want to get rid of all the mice.

What you do, first and foremost, is you want to put out some mice traps to catch the mice

that are already in your house.

There are very inexpensive mice traps that you can buy at The Home Depot or the Lowe's.

Any hardware store has them, and Walmart has them, and maybe the Dollar Tree has them,

but you want to put out mice traps, and my suggestion is don't poison them, but use peanut

butter or cheese, because it smells really nice, and it will attract them, and then they

will eat it, and then you can catch them.

Okay, so having said that, my next thing that I would recommend is don't give access to

mice to your food, right?

Eliminate all the possibilities where mice can find food in your house.

If you have potato chip bags open, and you have bread that's left out on the counter,

they're going to smell that.

They have an amazing sense of smell, and as they come into your house, they're going to

find whatever food they can chew through.

They will chew through potato chip bags.

They will chew through bread bags.

They can chew through this stuff, and they will eat the food and the bread itself, so

what you want to do is you want to get airtight containers.

Now, in my pantry, for example, we have airtight containers for everything.

Everything is in airtight containers, and so if you have like bags of rice, or bags

of beans, or you have chips, crackers, cereal, cookies, bread, whatever you might have, all

of that needs to be in a container.

Now, we have some great big container tubs that are just big plastic bins, and so things

that are big, like bags of chips, or maybe a big loaf of bread, that could go inside

a big container, and you can fit multiple things in a big container.

Or you can have smaller individual containers.

They make little individual containers that are just for a loaf of bread, but it's airtight

so mice cannot get in.

Then they have containers where you have cereal, and you empty your cereal bag into the container,

and it has a little pour spout, and then when you use your cereal you just pour out what

you need and snap the airtight lid back on.

I would encourage you to start thinking along the lines of how can I protect the food that

I have so that it doesn't give off a smell and attract mice and rodents in your house?

Okay, now as the weather changes and it becomes really hot in the summertime, mice don't like

to be outside either.

They're little, and they're tiny, and their skins are small, and so they have heat just

like everyone else, so if they can climb underneath your house and go kind of cozy up to those

cool water, air conditioning pipes, they will do that, right?

Because they will like to be cool as well, and in your house, underneath the crawlspace

of your house, if it's dark, and it's cool, they'll hang out there, so they will chew

their way through anything they can get through, so if you will do a parameter walk of your

house and make sure that there are no grates.

A lot of houses that have crawlspaces have grates.

They're little square grates that have a little knob that opens and closes, and there's usually

some kind of a mesh that goes behind that grate, and that way it lets air in and out

so that there's not dampness and stuff underneath your house, but what you may want to consider

is getting some zip ties and some more mesh if they've chewed through those holes.

You can cut a little square, and you can add that right behind the vent.

It's called hardware cloth, and I will leave links in the show notes so you can see what

I'm talking about.

Once you zip tie that on the inside of your vents, the mice can no longer get through.

Now, we also know that snakes eat mice.

If you have mice, snakes are probably right behind, right?

You don't want snakes and mice in your house, so after you've set the mouse traps in your

house, and you've eliminated all of the possibilities of them finding food, then there are a couple

of things that I would also recommend.

If you don't want to do the parameter walk around your house and you don't know how to

do it, you can either watch YouTube videos on how to do it, or you can hire a handyman,

because a handyman knows exactly what they're looking for.

All right, then the next thing that I would recommend is that you clean up after you eat.

Lots and lots of people eat in their living rooms in front of the television, and so then

there are food trays that have bread, and crumbs, and stuff on them, and then when they

eat the crumbs spill down in the cushions of the couch, and that also attracts mice,

so you want to make sure that there are no crumbs and there's nothing that you dropped

and eaten because you were not eating at the kitchen table and you were eating somewhere

else in the house.

Being tidy, and eliminating the mice, and preventing the mice from finding your food,

and preventing the mice from coming in your house are all ways that you can eliminate

the mouse infestation.

All right, having said that, now yes, you can hire a house cleaning company to come

clean up what you already have, but not everybody does it, and you used the word infestation,

which suggests there's a lot of mice poo, or a lot to be cleaned up.

If it's a hazardous situation, it's not going to be a regular house cleaning company that's

going to come in.

It's going to be a remediation company that's going to come in, and they charge a lot more

money, and the reason they do is because they don't just clean your house like a quick maintenance

clean like a house cleaner.

They come in and they do top to bottom scouring of everything, and sometimes it's two, and

three, and four scourings of everything to make sure that everything is repaired, and

sanitized, and removed, and reset to its original condition, so it's not cheap at all.

But if you have people that live there in the house, they deserve a clean home, and

you can take measures yourself by doing the things that we talked about today.

A mouse infestation, it's nobody's fault, because it happens, but you can eliminate

it right now, and you can stop it from continuing, because you don't want mice to come in your

house, and live in your house, and then keep making babies and all that stuff, because

soon the mice live in your house and it's not sanitary for you.

Mice carry a lot of diseases, and it's not healthy to humans to have mice in your house.

Backup and Restore Viber and WhatsApp on Android, iOS and Windows PC ⚕️💬💻 - Duration: 9:09.

Hello everybody!

In this video, I'm going to tell you about backup options for Viber and WhatsApp on Android,

iOS and Windows devices.

Many chats have certain value for their users.

That is why application developers provided the opportunity to create a backup copy of

Viber and WhatsApp chats.

Keep on watching to see how to create and configure backup.

Backup Viber messages In Viber, messages are not saved or restored

automatically.

But if necessary, you can create a backup and then restore it on another device.

If you want to save a copy of all messages on another device, you can save it to a file.

However, such backup copy has certain limitations: a chat backup copy can be created and read

as text, but it cannot be restored in the application itself; copies of sent files (photos,

videos etc) are not saved to such text files.

Yet let's talk about backup with recovery options first.

In this case, you can only save the messages available on your device at the time when

you are creating the backup.

When a new backup is created, all the old ones will be removed.

Such backup takes some time and Internet traffic so it's recommended to use a Wi-Fi connection.

As a result, you'll be able to restore only text messages and list of subscriptions, while

all photos and videos have to be copied from the memory of your device.

Android backup To create a backup in Viber tap on More (the

button with three horizontal lines), then go to Settings / Account / Viber Backup and

then Back up.

Now you'll have to wait until Viber backs up your data, and this process can take some

time.

Before creating a Viber backup, make sure Viber has free access to your Google Drive

from this device.

If there is no such connection, click on the link under the message about Google Drive

and select the account to which the data will be saved.

In backup settings, you can decide how often chat history is saved automatically.

Creating a backup file You can also save a chat backup as a file

that could be emailed as a text document, but as I said before, you can't use such

backup to restore Viber chat history, and photos or videos from your chats will not

be saved, either.

For sending, go to Settings, open "Calls and messages" and choose "Email message

history", then choose where to send it and then, depending on your choice, specify the

address or the name of the document (if you are saving it to Google Drive), then click

Save.

As a result, the file will be sent to the specified email address or saved to the Google

Drive with the name you have given to it.

iPhone backup With an iPhone, the backup process is the

same, the only exception being that you will use iCloud instead of Google Drive.

In the same backup settings, choose Backup now and wait until Viber copies its data to

iCloud storage.

For automatic backup, choose auto backup and decide how often it takes place.

Before creating a backup, check your connection to iCloud.

To do it, open iPhone settings, select iCloud, sign in, choose iCloud Drive and enable it,

then find Viber in the list of apps and enable access.

Restoring chats can take some time and eat up considerable amounts of Internet traffic.

That's why it's better to use a Wi-Fi connection.

When restoring chats, you can't restore chat history in secret chats, as well as sent

and received photos and videos, chat settings and messages sent to additional devices which

are also connected to your account.

Viber backup for PC If you're using Viber on a desktop computer

and wondering how its chats could be backed up, I'll show it in a moment, and if you're

not using Viber for PC yet and would like to know how to install it, you can watch a

video in our channel.

In case with a computer, you can only create a text copy of the chat or replace the file

containing chat history.

All chat history is kept in the file viber.db in this folder on disk С:

C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\ViberPC\Phone Number

That's why to restore Viber chat history, you need to restore that file.

If you reinstalled the operating system on your computer and need to restore chat history

or media files, use Hetman Partition Recovery.

Visit our channel to watch a video on restoring Viber data.

After that, you'll have to find the file following the given path and restore it, then

replace it.

If you need to restore media data, here's the path to where they are stored: C:\Users\UserName\Documents\ViberDownloads.

With this program, you can scan and recover them from that folder.

Restoring WhatsApp chat history In WhatsApp, backup is automatic and you don't

have to change any settings.

However, it means that backups are saved to the phone's internal memory, and any copies

older than 7 days will be erased.

Such backups are stored here: WhatsApp/ Databases/ You can watch one of our videos to learn more

about restoring data from such backups.

But if you want to save data to Google Drive, you'll have to go to settings.

Go to Settings / Chat / Chat backup.

Choose the Google Drive account, how often backups should be created, how they will be

uploaded to the server - with Wi-Fi or with any other available network.

Check the box if you want to add videos to your backup.

The first complete backup can take some time.

Every time you create a backup in the same Google Drive account the previous backup will

be replaced.

You won't be able to restore any previous backups from Google Drive.

Backup to iCloud Backing up WhatsApp messages on Apple devices

is the same as on Android, but using cloud backup options requires you to be signed in

to iCloud with AppleID.

In the settings, you can select backup frequency, account and so on.

To use iCloud for backup, you should meet certain requirements like having iOS 7 or

newer version, and for iOS 8 and higher versions, iCloud Drive should be enabled.

You can check it by going to iPhone settings, tapping on your name, then iCloud to see if

it's enabled.

Before creating a backup, make sure you have enough free space on your iCloud and iPhone.

If you're worried about using mobile Internet connection, you can configure iCloud so that

backups are only created when working with Wi-Fi networks.

To disable iCloud using mobile Internet connection for iOS 8 and higher versions: Go to iPhone

settings > Cellular data > disable iCloud Drive.

Restoring chat history from iCloud To restore chat history from a backup in iCloud,

check if the chat backup really exists by going to WhatsApp > Settings > Chats> Chat

backup.

If you see the date of the last backup, remove and install again the WhatsApp application

from App Store.

After you check the phone number, follow the wizard directions to restore your chat history.

Emailing chats As well as in Viber, with WhatsApp you have

the option of emailing chat history.

To do it, use the app to open the chat you need to send by email, tap to export it, choose

if you want any extra files, specify the email address, and tap More for extra options.

Backup to Window 10 Mobile phone memory In Windows 10 Mobile, backing up WhatsApp

is done in exactly the same way; the only exception is that when saving chat copies

to the phone's memory, you will find the backup in the path WhatsApp\WinPhoneBackup.
