Vanlife as a pre-retirement: Mike and Jess live in their Sprinter - Duration: 3:44.

We did all of the steps that you are supposed to take, to build this career,

to build this retirement fund and we decided,

we would do pre-retirement instead.

So we are here in Northern Pennsylvania in Tioga County right now.

This area is really good for deer hunting and trout fishing, turkey hunting.

It's basically just a hunting cabin up here.

I do science communication, which means that I have clients in the biopharma

and biotech space and I help them to tell a story to the public that is understandable.

I was doing this project where I draw every day.

I took that passion and decided to make a business out of it

and hopefully bring that art to more people and sell it through the website and the Etsy shop.

Doesn't feel like work, but I call it my job.

Ok, what goes after camping? Let's get the skis in!

We took this idea of Burning Man and this counterculture lifestyle and we were seeking that out.

And we saw a van and we said that could be our solution

to find this happiness in our everyday life.

On our way to Idaho for ski season we ran into a herd of elk at night and totaled the van.

Several people have asked about the accident.

I don't really know what the story is. Sure like we overcame a herd.

But it's just something that happened. We bounced back and now we are back into the van.

This van is named "Hailey" after the town of Hailey, Idaho which is where the old van was totaled.

So she is affectionately called "Van Hailey".

Vanlife is something that we really want. So even after the accident,

we knew that we were going to get back on the road as fast as possible, so we built it in 30 days.

When we first started designing the van,

one of the very first thing we knew, we wanted to bring our bikes.

You put the bikes in and that determines the height of the bed

and the width of the van and you kind of move on from there.

It was hard to fit it all into a 144 package, but we did it!

It's great to just be able to wake up wherever you are and you have everything you need.

It's just like home. This is home.

One of the best parts is just the freedom to go where we want,

when we want, how we want to do it.

Anywhere in North America is within reach and we get to do it, if we want to do it.

I think we really just want to show that you can get out of a lifestyle,

that you don't like if you work hard enough.

Hi, I'm Mike and I'm Jess, this is our happy place and we'll see you on the road!

Tyhoon keeps up the powerful storm _ 082318 - Duration: 1:31.

Time to turn to our Michelle Park at the weather center for more details on the incoming typhoon.

Michelle, Jeju and the southernwest coastal regions are being pounded by typhoon Soulik.

When will the storm hit Seoul?

Daniel, not much of the storm is being felt in Seoul right now but, the gusty storm that

hit Jeju is expected to hit the central region tonight.

The typhoon slightly changed its course and is now likely to pass through Jeollanam-do

Province.

This evening, the typhoon gained back its speed, at 23 kilometers per hour.

This also has altered the course and the time when it's expected to make landfall on the

peninsula.

Soulik is now expected to be the closest to Seoul before noon tomorrow and leave the peninsula

through Gangnung, Gangwon-do Province in late afternoon.

At this point, Jeolla-do and Gyeongsangnam-do provinces... have been issued typhoon warnings.

And through the night, the remaining regions of the country are expected to be under a

typhoon alert as well.

Typhoon Soulik is accompanied by strong winds and heavy rain.

From tonight until tomorrow afternoon, most of the nation is expecting between 50 and

100 millimeters of precipitation.

But... the east coast of Gangwon-do Province and the southwestern coasts are in for a waterbomb

of up to 300 or 400 millimeters or rain.

The amount of precipitation may change depending on how the typhoon moves across land.

Back to you Daniel.

Wabi-sabi interior. Japanese minimalist design ideas - Duration: 5:22.

Wabi-sabi interior. Japanese minimalist design ideas

Wabi-Sabi is a philosophy originally from Japan of the XV century, formed under the influence of Zen Buddhism. True beauty lies in imperfection, natural asymmetry, modesty, simple things. Wabi Sabi is not only an interior style, it is a character and a way of life. "Wabi" - "simplicity", "modesty", "unpretentiousness." "Sabi" - "a touch of antiquity," "patina," "change in time."

Wabi-Sabi will be appreciated by those who want to create a cozy and simple home for the soul, not for the show. Give up the thought of perfect design. Accept that the interior is imperfect, and the furnishings "grow old" with time. Avoid symmetry & even numbers: put 3 chairs instead of 2; put it on the sofa 5 pillows, not 4.

Learn to love what you have! Wabi-Sabi adherents do not throw away old memorabilia, they enjoy them. The Japanese believe that objects from the past, especially handmade, have a positive energy. However, the dear little things should not be much.Wabi-Sabi - minimalistic, even ascetic style, leaving free space, not tolerate clutter.

Wabi-Sabi is a natural and slightly worn brown, gray, terracotta, beige shades. The style loves natural materials and strict textures: unpainted wood, marble, concrete, ceramics. The surfaces are coarse, aged, rough and dull. Cracks, scratches, irregularities are acceptable. Polishing, gloss and synthetic materials are rejected.

The decor combines functionality, simplicity and nostalgia. Pottery, unpainted clay products. Often preserve the chipped vases and plates, repair interior items that have become damaged with time. These are memorabilia with a history. The lighting in the rooms is soft and diffuse.

Furniture assorted, most often made of wood, simple in shape. The purpose of furniture is to serve as intended, and not to decorate space. Textiles of natural gray or beige color. Use flax and cotton. Fabrics do not iron. The interior is appropriate curtains, furniture covers, pillows, tablecloths. In a modern room appliances hide, it should not catch the eye.

Ulysses: Best Mac/iOS Writing App?! 🦋 - Duration: 5:40.

Hello everyone and welcome back to another video it is Francesco here and welcome to Keep Productive YouTube channel if you're brand new

But if you're regular welcome back

So in today's video we are doing a brief overview of the application you disease

Now Ulysses has been knocking around for quite a while now and it is one of the most popular

writing tools out there

Now the application is available on Mac and iOS as well as through the set apps

Description so you can check all of that out below now just before we dive into this one

I wanted to thank the sponsor for this week here on the Keep Productive YouTube channel

and that is... Setapp. Now Setapp, for those who don't know, is a service allowing you to rent Mac

applications for a set monthly fee. You get access to 120+ Mac apps

Including the likes of Ulysses. So definitely check that one out. It's really accessible

You can download it

And once you have it you have accessible in your menu bar to download any apps you need at any time

So just before we dive into this one, too, you can also check out my for writing tools roundup video

which does include Ulysses so if you're looking to compare it to so that other

Writing tools are specifically 10 or 15 others, then that's the best bet for you

So let's start with what is Ulysses now uses claims to be the ultimate

Writing app for Mac iPad and iPhone now the pricing is pretty simple its price monthly and yearly

the monthly price in the u.s. Is 4 dollars 99 and the yearly price is

$39.99

Now the application is available as I mentioned on Mac and iOS devices

It uses iCloud

Synchronization so that all of you obviously all of your writing is matched up to both devices at any given time

now you can access it with a

14-day free trial or you can get it through the set up subscription and set up subscription is nine dollars 99

accesed to 120 plus either

Now the features are pretty prolific inside of Ulysses

A lot of people sort of Fame it for its attractive UI and interface

It's also got a distraction-free experience which makes it all the easier

To type up all of your different notes and even all of your sort of long-form pieces now

It's got a markup based editor, which means that of course when you're editing. It's really simple

It's basic to get started with they've got a real keyboard focused experience

So you can pretty much navigate the entirety of Ulysses without leaving your keyboard, which I know a lot of writers love

It's also got text plaintext abilities as well as well as a host of custom themes as well

Now there is a mode available called the typewriter mode, which makes it a bit more

streamlined when you're trying to get words out and

sort of like get through a lot of pieces and you can organize all of your pieces into

Folders as well as grouping them based on project and subject using the hierarchical

organization structure now you can also view attachments as well as going to filtering search and

All of the pieces as you write them are automatically saved and backed up on iCloud

Now you can access additional

Storage via the external folders on Dropbox which is helpful and for each PC

Right, you can have something called a writing goal

Which basically allows you to set a goal and aim towards it as you write and you get a notification when you've completed that goal

Now you can export in a host of different file formats including markdown HTML PDF Word and ebook and they all look great

there's also export to

WordPress as well as medium as well as a live preview mode so that you can see exactly what it looked like

Now I'm going to include in the description

a four outline of the feature table break down main reason I want to do that is because some features are available on iOS and

Others aren't as you can imagine. The Mac is more of the sort of home experience for Ulysses writing

Now as you can see here, this is my account. I started writing a bit of a book a couple of weeks ago

I've actually been running it in notion

But in this case I've transferred to Ulysses and as you can see you can break it down at different chapters

And of course all of that writing experience does look fantastic

Now in my opinion Ulysses is a well-priced solution for tool writing

Obviously if you're a full-time writer, it might be much better for you, especially because it is a premium experience

Or even a hobbyist that is looking to find a distraction-free tool. This could be a great solution for you

So guys remember you can get this one through the Setapp subscription set up other sponsors today

So it's pretty convenient and useful way to check them out below

So when I further ado guys, I wanted to thank you

Obviously, we'll be doing more features of on writing apps too, but we're gonna be diving in over the next couple of weeks

So do stay tuned and I'll see you guys very very soon cheers!

Schools to close, workers granted leave on Friday amid Typhoon - Duration: 0:42.

Over in Jeju Island the rare typhoon swept a woman into the sea on Wednesday evening.

She still remains unaccounted for.

The strong gusts of wind and rain knocked over trees, battered facilities,... and caused

power outages across 12-thousand households.

To minimize further damage, regional governments and related ministries are on duty around

the clock, as of this afternoon.

Education authorities ordered kindergartens, elementary and middle schools to close tomorrow,...

and have recommended the same measure for high schools.

While Friday isn't declared a holiday,... the goverment instructed all firms to allow

employees with children to take a day off.

Some major companies like Naver Lab, already decided to let their workers stay home or

take early leave.
