"Yeah, let's do it" and "Well, we're good like we are."

- You know, I think about that. I think about

the divorce rates, the financial stability,

what are the main causes of divorce.

- Yeah, 'cause marriage changes things.

You know, the one thing I don't want in my life

right now is another divorce.

Another bad marriage.

And ever since I told Reggie

that we needed to put things on hold,

Reggie and I haven't spoken much.

I just hope he still loves me

and I hope he still wants to be with me

and I hope he understands where I'm coming from

at this point in my life

and I just want us to continue.

Samsung Electronics was the world's third largest spender in research and development

last year.

According to Ernst & Young,.... the tech titan spent more than 15 billion U.S. dollars on

R&D projects in 2017.

The figure is expected to increase this year.... because the Korean conglomerate revealed earlier

this month.... it has already spent more than seven-point-seven billion dollars on R&D in

H1.

Amazon stood atop the ranking at more than 23-point-two billion dollars last year.

Google's parent company, Alphabet... was runner up with....

17-point-one billion.

The global accounting firm added,.... many companies are expanding their expenditure

on R&D..... due to the ever-accelerating pace of tech development and to meet the changing

demands.

Pyongyang appears to have stopped dismantling a missile engine testing site.

According to 38 North, commercial satellite imagery from last week showed.... "no significant

dismantlement activity" at the Sohae...

Satellite Launching Station since August 3rd.

The U.S. website monitoring the regime added... work on the launch pad also appears to have

halted,... with the same parts, previously removed,... still piled on the ground.

Ruling party, government agree to largely increase next year's budget - Duration: 0:43.

South Korea's budget for next year will be greatly increased,... and drawn up in a manner

that aids job creation.

Meeting to hash out the details today,... the Democratic Party of Korea and the government

vowed to use active fiscal policies to improve people's lives.

For starters,... the funds allotted to solving the employment issue will be the highest ever...

so as to better implement the government's related policies with hopes of spurring job

growth.

There are also plans to hike the budget used to support the socially vulnerable.... and

those in the low-income bracket.

A bigger portion will be set aside for regional infrastructure projects related to people's

daily lives.

The ruling party and the government promised to work hand-in-hand.... so the budget doesn't

hurt the country's fiscal soundness.

Minimizing damage from Typhoon Soulik: Safety ministry - Duration: 1:47.

Let's shift our focus to what we should do when we are near the areas hit hard by the

storm.

South Korea's safety ministry gave out some instructions on how to be prepared for the

impact of that force of nature.

Yoon Jung-min outlines what they are.

Forecasters say the storm will be as strong as Typhoon Kompasu, which caused 5 deaths

in 2010.

Soulik is expected to put many lives and property in peril as it passes over the country, so

the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Korea Meteorological Administration are

each running a disaster safety website and a national typhoon center.

They're providing guidelines on how to prepare.

The safety ministry is also advising people to put tape in an X-shape across their windows

to prevent them from shattering in the strong wind.

In case of torrential rain, the websites advise families to decide ahead of time on a place

to meet if they lose each other.

Also, it recommends that residents stock up on things like medication, drinking water

and emergency food supplies.

Motorists should fill up with gas, and people should make sure outdoor drainage is clear

of debris so that it doesn't flood.

When the storm makes landfall, residents are advised to lock the doors and windows for

safety.

They should refrain from using electric appliances and shut off the power.

Drivers should slow down and avoid driving across flooded roads.

The ministry warns everyone to avoid places outdoors where there could be flash flooding,

landslides... or beaches where the waves could surge far onto the shore.

Household debt reaches new high in Q2 amid growing income gap - Duration: 1:48.

The income gap between the haves and have-not is steadily widening in Korea.

This comes amid rising household debt during the second quarter this year.

Kim Ji-yeon breaks down the digits for us.

Household debt in Korea rose to a new high during the April-to-June period this year...

while the income gap widened.

Provisional figures released by the Bank of Korea on Thursday show the combined amount

of household credit, composed of mortgage loans and credit card debt,... remained above

the one-point-three-trillion-U.S.-dollar mark in the second quarter... a near two-percent

increase from the previous quarter.

The central bank says... household loans from banks, including mortgage loans... rose by

more than eleven-point-four billion dollars.

Loans from non-banking institutions jumped by over two-point-three billion dollars.

Separate data released by Statistics Korea show the average monthly nominal income of

households in the bottom 20-percent income bracket... fell in Q2 to its lowest level

in 10 years -- to below 12-hundred dollars,... a nearly eight-percent drop from the same

period last year.

On the other hand, the monthly income of households in the top 20-percent income bracket rose

to around 81-hundred dollars in Q2,... marking a record-high on-year rate of increase of

more than 10-percent.

The monthly average income overall increased by more than four-percent in Q2 from the same

period last year to just over four-thousand dollars.

Inflation-adjusted real income also increased by nearly three-percent on-year.

An official from the statistics agency cited the main reasons for the growing gap... sluggish

domestic consumption amid restructuring in the manufacturing sector... as well as falling

income for small businesses... and slowing increases in employment.

An Italian Movie Song has been Inspired by Witch Doctor by Cartoons? - Duration: 1:32.

Hi guys, welcome back to THE SONGMATCHER.

This time I'm going to compare The Witch Doctor song By Cartoons (Uh Ih Uh Ah Ah),

with a song extracted from a famous Italian comedy.

The song has been originally made for the movie so it has no name.

The movie is the last one of a series which is very famous in Italy.

This series is called "Fantozzi".

In order to compare the two songs, I merged them.

Let's listen to the result.

It's just interesting to note The Witch Doctor song has been made in 1990 and the last movie

of Fantozzi has been made in 1999.

Well, in the 90s the Eurodance music was very popular and, in particular, the Bubblegum

Dance.

The Cartoons are an example of bands who produced Bubblegum Dance Music and Bubblegum Dance

was so popular it most probably inspired also music composers for movies of that time, so

maybe the music composer of the last movie of Fantozzi took inspiration from Bubblegum

Dance.

The Power of Music To Reduce Stress

The soothing power of music is well-established

It has a unique link to our emotions

so can be an extremely effective stress management tool.

Listening to music can have a tremendously relaxing effect

on our minds and bodies

especially slow, quiet classical music.

This type of music can have a beneficial effect on our physiological functions

slowing the pulse and heart rate

lowering blood pressure,

and decreasing the levels of stress hormones.

As music can absorb our attention

it acts as a distraction at the same time

it helps to explore emotions

This means it can be a great aid to meditation

helping to prevent the mind wandering.

Musical preference varies widely between individuals

so only you can decide what you like and what is suitable for each mood.

But even if you don't usually listen to classical music

it may be worth giving it a try

when selecting the most calming music.

When people are very stressed

there is a tendency to avoid actively listening to music

Perhaps it feels like a waste of time

not helping to achieve anything.

But as we know,

productivity increases when stress is reduced,

so this is another area where you can gain vast rewards

It just takes a small effort to begin with

To incorporate music into a busy life,

try playing CDs in the car,

or put the radio on when in the bath or shower.

Take portable music with you when walking the dog

or put the stereo on instead of the TV.
