Does Super Smash Bros Ultimate REALLY Live Up to its Name? - Duration: 10:52.

Product Provided by Nintendo

Super Smash Bros Ultimate is FINALLY available for all to play and enjoy and I for one have

DEFINITELY had my fair share of enjoyment with the game.

I had to peel myself away from it just to make this video.

It definitely held true to the trend that I personally feel is a constant in the franchise.

It does SO MUCH to improve upon the previous entry.

& if sales are any indication, I'm not alone in that.

At the time of making this video, it's been revealed that Smash Ultimate has set sales

records for the franchise both in the UK & in Japan.

Critically, it's amongst the highest rated Smash games…

Although, to be fair, there isn't much of a gap between post-64 releases.

Now, in no way does that mean Ultimate is perfect.

There's a lot to love here, but, there's ALSO a fair amount that leaves me scratching

my head.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate's marketing campaign was ALL about the vast line up of characters

to choose from whether it be newbies like Ridley, Simon Belmont, or Inkling returning

veterans like Ice Climbers, Wolff, or Pichu OR if it's mainstays like Mario, Link & Pikachu

there's bound LOVE a fair amount of the cast.

Inkling & particular is a character that I've gravitated to & is actually the 1st character

that I could ever REALLY bestow with the title of "My main."

As far as returning characters go I've wanted Pokemon Trainer back in Smash 4.

Charizard is my favorite Pokemon, but, I gotta say other than Pikachu?

I don't think any other character could represent Pokemon as a franchise so well.

& as far as veterans go I've jumped around between boy Zelda & Fox McCloud since the

original Smash but like I said when I mentioned Inkling, I didn't really bother to "main"

anyone before this game so those characters never REALLY stuck for me but I'm veering

away from my point, the character selection in this game is phenomenal and we're not

even finished yet.

We still have Piranha Plant, Joker, & 4 other DLC fighters to look forward to.

MY PROBLEM, with how Smash Bros Ultimate in the realm of characters though is the grind

to unlock a lot of them.

It's not an arduous or even time consuming thing to do per se, it just feels, like a

chore for the sake of the dopamine hit some people get when they see those Challenger

Approaching & Join the Battle splash screens.

Before the game came out I was skeptical of the value of character unlocks and after having

unlocked every character I still feel that way.

Even THE GAME acknowledges the idea that you can't TRULY start playing the game until

you have the full roster.

Stages are fully unlocked from the start and I feel don't feel like I'm missing out

on the pseudo achievement of playing the game long enough for the game to deem that I earned

the right to experience more of it.

In the future, I'd love to be given the option to unlock the roster in an instant

rather than giving me a bunch of time tedious options to do so slowly.

Give me a cheat code or an option in the menu or something.

This way, the people that want to work for their characters can still have that, but,

I rather have access to all of the fighters so I can dive into the ones I plan to master

as well as pit them against the rest of the roster to see what my options are.

If you're playing locally, this is less of a problem as you get character unlocks

pretty frequently there but for players like myself that primarily play online, it's

a lot more of a deliberate grind to get who we want since online matches don't trigger

new challengers.

Of course, this is a nitpick.

The roster is a strong contributor to my love for this game.

That's only a piece of the puzzle though.

Another aspect of the Smash Brothers franchise that's core to the experience is the unique

mechanics.

Before the release of this game, well, actually before the full reveal I was unsure as to

whether or not the then upcoming Nintendo Switch Smash Bros would introduce enough NEW

to experience with given the very similar art style of that initial trailer.

Every Smash Bros before then had very distinct unique character models.

This CGI render looked very similar to the ones we got with Smash Wii U. Luckily, we

later got to see the game in action and were informed of the faster pace, the changes to

mechanics like dodging, shielding, & even final smashes.

In practice, it's very clear that the amount of work the Smash Ultimate dev team put into

it.

The game is more aggressive than Smash 4 but less so than Melee.

Which, in my opinion is a great mix.

Especially when considering the easy to learn difficult to master approach that Sakurai

is known for and has been since the early days of Kirby.

In my opinion perfect shielding feels more skill based than it did before.

Short hops are easier to pull off.

The nerf to rolling and air dodging is a great improvement as it makes a lot less people

likely to default to using them as their movement option of choice.

The reintroduction of directional air dodging gives a fair amount of Fighters a better chance

at recovering to the stage.

& so much more that I couldn't possibly explore in the 1st few days of Smash Bros

being widely available.

My first impression of Online Play on a practical level is that it is VERY smooth.

The actual act of getting online is night and day compared to Smash 4.

Rather than requiring a lengthy connecting process like the process game, Smash Ultimate

seems to be almost always online and in times where it does need to connect it takes little

to no time to do so.

As far as the matches themselves are concerned, I have only had a handful of laggy matches

in my time playing both with randoms and next to none when playing with friends.

It's also easy to find opponents, but, that's to be expected with a Holiday blockbuster

like this.

That said, that's not necessarily a good thing all of the time given the way that Ultimate

does matchmaking.

When I think of the experience of online play the much improved connectivity is honestly

the only GOOD thing about it.

Something that every Smash Bros fan should know is VERY important is the power of choice,

the game as a whole has so many ways to play and the community at large has a lot of different

preferences whether that be for casual play, competitive play or somewhere in between.

The local play options are very accommodating with that.

There's enough controllable variables to craft the experience you want to have.

Online on the other hand is VERY limited.

There are 4 different selectable modes but, you really only have 2 options like Quickly,

Background Matchmaking, & Elite Smash - options that can all be summed up as the modes that

let the game decide how you play with light suggestions on the player's side.

You're given the option to set preferred rules but in my experience it doesn't seem

like the game tries AT ALL to come to an agreeable happy medium.

I can't imagine a world where someone that set their preferred choices to 1on1 no items

on omega or battlefield stages would want to play an items on 4 player team match on

Rainbow Cruise or whatever.

It just doesn't add up.

& you're not even given the option to decline joining matches that don't match or even

closely match your preferred settings, you're automatically dumped into whatever they choose

to put you in.

The only way to get out of this without being penalized is to close the game before the

match starts.

That's not ok.

I really hope they change that.

But there is a mode that gives you MORE control, being Battle Arenas, that you can craft to

your liking but with a ton of concessions and weird restrictions.

You can't chose to have matches sans time limit, you can only let 6 people in a room

at a time, you have to create entirely new rooms when you want to change the rules & when

you do that you're always prompted to save that ruleset, something that can get annoying

because not every ruleset is something that you'd like to keep saved.

Giving the choice to opt in rather than forcing to opt out is always preferable in my opinion.

& I don't see any justifiable reason to not just have online play be a carbon copy

of the options available in single player mode.

Every other major multiplayer Nintendo release affords more choice than this.

Why can't I do Squad Strike, or tournaments online?

Mario Kart could do it even in the Wii U days, Mario Tennis Aces has the option to do the

same.

Why can't I do Team Matches against random players with a friend online?

That's been a confusing omission since Brawl.

A lot of players shrug this off as Nintendo just being bad at online play, but, in a world

where so many Nintendo games do this better, I hope Smash Bros Ultimate can strive to be

more through future updates.

To be fair, Mario Tennis Aces didn't have a lot of the online options it does now at

launch.

Even ARMS & Splatoon 2 have changed quite a bit since their respective launches so we

can be hopeful that Smash Bros Ultimate will follow suit.

Single player content has made a strong recovery in a lot of ways like an improved Classic

Mode with custom crafted campaigns that fit the individual fighter you're using or World

of Light with it's crazy expansive 20 hour long campaign with even more content stuffed

in to complete when you finish the main story.

Single player content has made some choices that are a bit of a bummer too like no break

the targets, Home run bat contest, or events but even with those missing modes I would

say that Smash Ultimate's single player content is amongst the best in the franchise.

I do wish World of Light allowed for a co-op option like Subspace Emissary but it is a

cool single player experience so I'm cool with it not being there.

I know it sounds like there's a lot I DON'T like about Smash Bros Ultimate but that's

only because it's a LOT easier to quantify those things.

The whole of the experience is just as good as it's always been better, even.

My only REAL big problem with the game they'll rectify is the lack of Online options.

& I have hope they'll rectify that Outside of that and those other nitpicks, I can comfortably

say this is my favorite Smash Bros game.

But, those are MY thoughts.

or a mechanic and what is your LEAST favorite?

Panicked Republicans Now Say That Trump's Crimes Are Totally OK - Duration: 5:39.

Here's a riddle for you.

When is a crime not a crime?

Well, it's actually not a riddle because a crime is always a crime.

Even when the president does it to contradict Nixon's old saying that it's not a crime when

the president does it.

Um, no, it 100 percent is a crime is always a crime, but apparently the Republicans in

Washington dc still don't quite understand that.

And in the last couple days they have been essentially tripping over themselves, trying

to come up with excuses for those damming a court documents filed by molar and the southern

district of New York last Friday.

First and foremost, we have Kevin McCarthy, the current House majority leader and the

incoming house minority leader who went on Fox News recently and he said, you know, we

have to understand that this is small potatoes, right?

I mean, if we're going to start investigating every campaign finance violation, than a lot

of members of my own caucus would have to go.

Fantastic.

That's the point.

That's exactly what we're getting at here.

Kevin McCarthy.

I think maybe you understand it, except you also have to understand that it is illegal

campaign finance is a problem, but not the laws.

It's the lack of the laws.

It's the lack of enforcement and it's the fact that corporations have all of the power.

What we're talking about here though, doesn't even involve corporations.

It's just the president authorizing an illegal payment to aid his campaign that is now and

always has been illegal.

So you can spin it however you want that.

Oh, we'd lose a lot of Republicans if we investigated stuff like this.

And I think from the public, both the left and the right would probably say, well then

that sounds like we need more investigations, doesn't it?

Senator Rand Paul, the alleged libertarian slash republican slash, he has no idea what

he believes or stands for.

Uh, went out there and basically said something similar on a Sunday.

He told Chuck Todd, he said, I don't know what's illegal about building a hotel in Russia.

We have to decide whether or not criminal penalties or the way we should approach criminal

finance.

So you say you don't know that it's illegal to build this thing, but we have to also look

the laws when we're talking with criminal finance.

Um, so are you saying that this is criminal finance?

Paul also went on to talk about campaign finance and you know, how we, we, you know, over criminalize

campaign finance.

That's what I said over criminalize campaign finance.

Again, we should be, we should be getting money out of politics and we should be taking

a closer look at every single one of you.

And as for the hotel in Russia, that, that's not even what any of this is about.

Like why are you bringing that up?

Rand Paul?

Nobody's worried about that at the moment.

We're talking about the president authorizing an illegal payment to a porn star.

So she didn't take his campaign.

And then finally we have Republican Senator Orrin Hatch, the guy who was adamant that

Bill Clinton be held accountable for his lying under oath.

Orrin Hatch says, Democrats will do anything to hurt this president is what he told a CNN

the other day.

Then when asked by the host, you know that the president have been implicated in the

crime on Friday, Orrin Hatch responded by saying, okay, but I don't care.

All I can say is he's doing a good job as president.

Okay, so at least Orrin hatch out of the three here is being a little honest.

He doesn't care.

Screw it.

Yeah.

He broke the law.

I don't care.

He's a Republican and he's doing all the Republican things that Republicans like to see.

Orrin Hatch has the biggest problem out of all three of these people because there's

too many republicans like him in the United States.

Okay, but I don't care.

Okay, but I don't care.

That is the Republican mentality right now.

Too many of them don't care.

They don't care that somebody is breaking the law and you know what?

Whether you think it's a stupid law or whether you think it's a good law.

If you break it, you break it and you pay the consequences.

That's what happens.

We are a nation of laws and if we don't respect that one, then we're going to see the president,

as I'm sure Mueller already has a. just push it further.

If I can break this one and get away with it, see if I can break this one and get away

with it.

Now let's see if I can break this one and if you don't believe that that's the way it

happens.

Why don't you look at the banking industry here in the United States.

They get away with so many crimes that would make your head spin.

I'm lucky enough to have been able to look at some of the internal documents in some

of the lawsuits against these banks.

They know what they're doing is illegal and they also talk about the fact that they'll

never really be held accountable for it, so they keep pushing it a little further each

time.

Go a little bit further with this crime a little bit further with that one because they

know at the end of the day they'll never be held accountable and they write little different

here though.

I would hope that we would hold our politicians to a little bit of a higher standard, and

if these Republicans are freaking out that, oh my God, all campaign finance violations

could be investigated, then I think those are probably the guys we need to start with

the investigations.

How to Buy International Stocks -- ADR's and Their Little Fees - Duration: 4:55.

David Gardner: Alright, Emily, now for something completely different: Christopher Olson writing in.

"I can't say enough good things about what you guys and gals do to fulfill your mission

at The Motley Fool, but I'll spare that for the time being and pose my question."

Christopher, by the way, is @lookfromdwnhere.

Thank you for writing in, Chris!

He says, "I've owned a few Chinese companies for over six months now.

Rule Breaker recs.

I had a few small charges to my brokerage, citing something about the ADR.

This has been for iQiyi and Baidu.

I also own Baozun and JD, but can't recall if I've had charges for those, as well.

Just curious if this is the broker charging me. Who's getting this money and why?

The charge comes out of my cash in the brokerage account. Thanks, and Fool on."

Well, Emily, it was natural for me to turn to you because you know China a lot better

than I do, having lived four years of your college in Shanghai?

Emily Flippen: Yes, four years.

Gardner: Yes. And while I don't think either of us purports to be a specialist on ADRs or charges,

I hope you've done a little bit of homework, or maybe you already knew this.

Do we have an answer for Chris?

Flippen: We do.

I definitely would not say I'm an expert, but I think I know more than the average investor

about investing in ADRs. I have a short answer and a long answer.

Gardner: Let's start with the acronym -- American depository receipt.

Flippen: ADR.

American depository receipts are essentially a slip of paper that you're going to buy from

your broker that says, "I own X number of shares of a foreign company."

This is where the fee comes into play.

By owning this piece of paper, you don't necessarily own the stocks at the company.

You own a piece of paper that says you own the stocks of a company.

For all intents and purposes, you own the shares of the company.

But what actually is happening is, whenever these foreign companies come to the U.S. and

list on the U.S. exchanges, they have to use a depository trust company.

This is the person who's going to be owning the shares and then issuing the ADRs,

or the global depository receipts if you're international.

They sell those to your broker, who then sells them to you.

Gardner: I'd never known how that worked.

I've owned ADRs in the past. OK. Flippen: It's a whole process.

Actually, what happened, the reason why you're seeing these fees -- and they're fees that

we don't typically talk about because they're very, very small fees.

They usually range between $0.01-0.03 per share of the stock.

But if you own 500 shares of a stock and it's $0.02 a share, you're paying $10 a year in

these fees, so it's definitely worth mentioning. Your broker is not getting this money.

This is getting paid to that DTC, the depository trust company that the ADR is using as the listing company.

They're called ADR pass through fees, which is coming to you from this system, which is

a complicated way of you owning the shares.

What's really interesting is that you can actually pull up the documents and see

how these are charged. They're not the same for every company.

You'll notice that you'll get a fee for each different company that you own.

It might be $0.01 on one company, $0.03 on another company.

In the case of Baozun, it's $0.05. A little more expensive there.

You can actually go into the SEC's website, they have a search process called EDGAR.

You can search for your company, pull up the F-6 agreement.

This is the listing agreement for the ADR.

If you search through a lot of legalese - it's no fun, I promise you, but I do promise that

it's there -- you can find the agreement that they made with the bank. I pulled up Baidu here.

I think a lot of people own Baidu, so it's a great example.

If you go through and search their F-6 form, you'll see that they actually have an agreement

with the Bank of New York, who is the person who's working as their custodian for this.

Their agreement is that they can charge $0.02 per ADR at the end of the year.

Baozun is $0.05 per ADR at any one point they choose throughout the year.

It's different for every company.

Long story short, it's a legal process that was recently changed in 2008.

It allows them to take a little bit percent shares of any ADR that you own.

Gardner: Very well researched. Thank you, Emily! Very thorough.

Flippen: Long, complicated story. Gardner: We liked the story!

It was very well done.

Baozun is trading at about $34 a share, so $0.05 is inconsequential for the most part.

But Christopher was, I wouldn't say he was troubled, but I would say he was curious.

He was wondering, "What is that money, and where's it going?"

And just helped him understand. You helped me understand, too!

Flippen: I hope so. If there's any other questions, Christopher, feel free to reach out.

Gardner: Awesome! Emily Flippen, thank you!

Flippen: Thank you!

Why RH (Restoration Hardware) Holdings Stock is Up Big in 2018 - Duration: 5:31.

Chris Hill: Let's move on to Restoration Hardware.

Technically, the company changed their name to RH Holdings, but come on.

Emily Flippen: It's not going to stick. Hill: It's Restoration Hardware.

They had a great third quarter. Flippen: They did.

Hill: The stock popped about 15% this morning.

To go back to Twitter, right before we started recording, I looked at Twitter and saw that

Restoration Hardware was halted for trading.

Then the news came out that the company is exploring a potential $300 million convertible note offering.

Where would you like to start? Do you want to start with the quarter?

Or do you want to start with the $300 million note? Flippen: Let's start with the quarter.

The $300 million note doesn't change much for me. Companies do it all the time.

I think their quoted reason was "to pursue favorable long-term allocations of capital."

For me, it doesn't change very much.

What's really interesting to me, that I really think is a perfect representation of the market

right now, is that you have wonderful earnings, a 66% rise in earnings per share, 8% revenue growth.

The stock is up a ton.

And it's operating in the same segment that we've seen for Toll Brothers in the sense

that they're not directly building houses, but this is a luxury product that they're

selling to people, presumably, who are living in luxury houses.

I don't think a person in an apartment is going to buy a $5,000 sofa.

You're looking at home owners, home buyers who are buying premium furniture.

So, while the company responded really well in terms of their wonderful earnings report,

ultimately, they sell premium furniture.

And while home building is one of the leading indicators of a change in economic cycle,

inventory to sales ratio is one of the lagging ones.

A lot of times, these companies are the butt end of that economic cycle, so they don't

start to see poor numbers until people start earning less and they stop spending a ton

of money on their furniture. It was a great quarter.

The stock is up a lot.

For me, I don't think it says anything about, like I said, the next few years of what earnings

are going to be for this company.

Hill: And it's down a little bit from where it was a couple of months ago.

But this is still a stock that's up about 60% year to date, which is astonishing to me.

Maybe I shouldn't be surprised, but it does surprise me a little bit.

Not that it was this down-and-out retailer, it had struggled a little bit in 2016 into 2017.

But they've really turned it around. Flippen: Yeah, they have.

Wonderful marketing efforts on their part.

What's really interesting to see is that people were very happy to see a comparable store

sales growth of about 6%, depending on how you define it, this quarter, which was great,

especially when you think about the retail market in general. I've only looked back to 2014.

That same number was like 22%, and it didn't see the same large pop that it has now.

It's definitely been a stock that has been on a tear, but it's definitely slowing down, as well.

Hill: I'm also a little surprised that it's only about a $3 billion company.

The market cap is like $3.3 billion.

In part because of the business that they are in and the general footprint that they

have, I would have guessed a little bit higher.

When I see something like that, particularly a retailer that is doing well, that doesn't

have a huge market cap, my mind automatically goes to them being a potential buyout candidate.

But they're not really struggling.

To go back to the $300 million note that they're offering up, it almost seems like they're

saying, "Yeah, we're raising money not because we have to.

We're doing it because things are going well, and we're looking to push things a little further."

Flippen: Exactly. Maybe part of that is the perspective that we may have right now as investors.

We're kind of accustomed to these very high-value stocks.

So, you're right, when we see a company that has a very small market cap that's doing

very well, a lot of times, people think, "What's going on there? What's wrong?"

When in reality, maybe it's just a small market.

The total addressable market for premium hardware, furniture, it's going to be very different

than your IKEAs of the world.

So, I think part of that is just keeping it in perspective about how many times their

average buyer buys one of these, and how large that average buyer base really is.

Hill: To go back to the $5,000 sofa, it's almost akin to the way local car dealerships,

the smart ones, think about their addressable market, in that they're looking to sell several

cars over a 15-year period to the same person.

It's like, I'm going to sell you a car, and hopefully five years from now, I'm going to sell you another one.

That sort of thing. If you have a good experience at Restoration Hardware buying a $5,000 sofa,

then presumably, you're going to go back, maybe not for more $5,000 sofas, but for more large-ticket items.

Flippen: I would imagine that assumption is correct.

Google Analytics Tutorial - New to Reports? These are the first ones you should check! - Duration: 3:21.

In this video let's talk about one of the first reports you

should be checking in Google Analytics.

We're going to pop into our own analytics here we're going to go

into behavior and then go to a site content and then all pages.

So this is one of those reports that you should check first and

you should spend some time in. This is one of those reports

you're gonna come back to over and over again. This all pages

report again on her site content site content then all pages.

This lists every single page is being tracked by your analytics.

So the first thing to check is making sure that all the pages

that you want to be recording and measuring are actually here.

Because if they're not there could be an implementation

problem.

Other things to check are checking your pageviews to

unique pageviews ratios.

Sometimes you might see that there's an implementation

problem. For example, if we saw consistently that there were two

page views for every one unique pageview you can see here, 27000

page views but only 11000 were unique.

What does that make sense in this case it does because it's

the basket people come back to the car over and over again in

the same session because they continue shopping and they come

back to the car and they go back and they shop from war and they

come back to the cart?

So that would be a reasonable explanation.

But in these other pages you wouldn't naturally see that.

So here we see 60000 13000 15000 11000 that's all well and good.

If there was a consistent 2 to 1 though if this said 26000 if

this 26000 if this said 34000 meaning it was double what these

numbers were then you might have a sign you've got to

implementation problem that you've got to fix before you

even try to analyze your numbers.

That's one of the first things to check out.

The other thing to take a look at is to start to break it down

by their content groups if you have those set out you can

actually check quality metrics in terms of engagement when you

look at the number of bounce rates that are coming through

and your average time on page.

Definitely buy traffic to see which pages are bringing you the

most traffic and then you can also take a look at the page

values.

This gives you an idea of how valuable your pages are.

So how many of those pages are actually leading to transactions

or are involved in a transaction of some sort. Now in this page

value report you can see how the number bounces around quite a

bit and it makes sense that not everybody who comes to the home

page is going to buy.

But most people who come to the cart are so the basket page in

this case is more valuable than the home page.

But of course the home page is also out there doing different

things.

So yes even the home page is not available in most transactions.

And the card obviously is in this case it makes sense.

So what you do is the way to look at this is not just from

all the different pages but group pages of similar purpose

together.

So in this case we might say well let's look at clothing by

gender as a content group.

And again this is something that was set up for Google Analytics

not necessarily... Actually there wasn't a ton of data.

So, let's go into another one here. We'll go to product

categories and we'll take a look at our page values and we can

see that product categories.

All of a sudden this Page vi report and we're still on the

site pages all page site content all pages reports the different

version a different section of it here with content grouping.

But if you set up content grouping you can start to see

really quickly like in this case Nest and electronics not as

valuable as something like office drinkware or even bags

are.

So that's just another thing that you can get from this all

pages report.

It's one of the reports you want to visit first and visit often.

All right.

Now it is your turn.

Let me know how you are actually using this video.

W10829281 - Replacing Your Maytag Fridge's Condenser Fan Screw - AP5988583, PS11726210 - Duration: 4:03.

Hi my name is Bill and today I'm going to be showing you how to replace the

condenser fan screw on your fridge. The reason why you might have to do this is

because the screw is broken, missing, or damaged.

For this repair, we'll be using a quarter-inch nut driver and a 5/16 inch nut driver.

Warning: Before doing any repairs, please disconnect your power source.

So this is the refrigerator we're going to

be using for this demonstration. It's a Maytag, and keep in mind yours at

home might be a little bit different than what we have here but the same

technique should still apply. So the first thing we have to do is we have to go

behind our refrigerator, and right here you see our power cord. It goes in behind

this cardboard guard right here. So we're going to have to take out all these screws

and we're going to use our quarter-inch nut driver to do that.

Now that all the screws are off, we can take off this foam guard here.

So right here is our condenser fan motor, and it's held on by two screws. One here, but

we've actually got one missing, which caused the fan motor to be a little bit

wobbly and it could cause a couple of strange noises when it's running.

So now grab your new OEM replacement screw. If you don't have one already, you can find

it on our online store. So you just want to make sure that the screw hole with the

condenser fan motor is lined up. You just have to adjust it a little bit do that.

Then we're going to use a 5/16 inch nut driver to screw it in place.

Now we'll put our

cardboard cover back into place and

slide that down underneath there. We'll line up our screw holes as best we can,

and now we can screw everything back into place.

As you can see here, I didn't screw these on super tight. You want them a little

bit loose, otherwise you're going to completely crush the insulation and the

cardboard and rip it. But after you've done that, we can spin our fridge back

around and your repair is complete.

Finally, don't forget to plug in your appliance.

If you need to replace any parts for your appliances, you can find

an OEM replacement part on our website

We are NOT biased against conservatives and we DO care about privacy, says Google's CEO - Duration: 12:27.

We are NOT biased against conservatives and we DO care about privacy, says Google's CEO

Google chief executive Sundar Pichai said Monday that the internet giant steers clear of 'political bias,' arguing that this is a core principle of its business to maintain trust of users.

Pichai also said privacy and security are essential parts of Google's mission, and that the company is committed to working with the US government 'to keep our country safe and secure.

The prepared remarks released Monday, a day ahead of Pichai's appearance at the House Judiciary Committee, come with Google under fire on several fronts, on issues around political bias, data security and its domination of internet search.

Pichai strongly denied claims made by by President Donald Trump and his backers earlier this year that Google operates with a political agenda that suppresses conservative voices. 'Users also look to us to provide accurate, trusted information,' he said.

'We work hard to ensure the integrity of our products, and we've put a number of checks and balances in place to ensure they continue to live up to our standards.'.

Pichai said Google strives to offer 'platforms for diverse perspectives and opinions' without promoting its own agenda.

'I lead this company without political bias and work to ensure that our products continue to operate that way. To do otherwise would go against our core principles and our business interests,' he said.

Pichai said that Google -- which earlier Monday speeded up the shutdown of its Google+ social network after a second data security bug was discovered -- supports federal privacy legislation, without offering specifics.

'Protecting the privacy and security of our users has long been an essential part of our mission,' he said.

The tech CEO also sought to allay concerns that Google was snubbing American values by its decision this year to drop out of the bidding for a major Pentagon cloud computing project.

'Even as we expand into new markets we never forget our American roots,' he said. 'It's no coincidence that a company dedicated to the free flow of information was founded right here in the US.

As an American company, we cherish the values and freedoms that have allowed us to grow and serve so many users.'.

Topics are expected to include Google's handling and protection of user data, privacy practices, disinformation campaigns, and its plans for China, including the development of a search engine that will comply with Beijing's censorship rules.

Republicans are expected to ask about concerns that conservative voices are being stifled online and in search results. And Pichai could get asked about the company's sexual harassment policy.

Last month, more than 20,000 Google employees around the world walked out in protest of the company's handling of sexual harassment and discrimination claims. But the appearance will also test Pichai's ability to be the public face of the search engine giant.

'It remains to be seen whether he can step up and be the kind of diplomat and statesman Google requires him to be,' Arun Sundararajan, a business professor at New York University, told The Wall Street Journal.

'He has, for most of his career, been a product guy.'. Pichai was the White House on Thursday for a meeting between White House officials and tech execs, including representatives from Microsoft, Oracle, IBM and Qualcomm.

President Donald Trump stopped by but it was Ivanka Trump who took the lead.
