It's crazy to think how much has happened

since we went on one of our first dates back in 2016.

That's a place where I almost died.

Since then we moved in together. And not only is he there for me

but he's there for my brother Julius

my big brother Julius lives with us.

He's a diabetic. He lost his vision and he's paralyzed.

That paired with my PTSD from the shooting

is a lot to deal with.

But Maino makes it look easy even though I know

it can probably take a toll on him.

Where's your napkin? I don't need one I just lick my fingers

Alright lick mine too

Come in! Who that?

to meet the woman in his life and it was Maggie.

And since then we have been inseparable.

I love her she's like a little sister to me.

I don't know something about the crowds.

I just feel so vulenrable. I think that. We've got to get past it

It can't keep holding you back. It's been hard for me.

I got to start small.

It's sad to say that shootings are so common nowadays.

I try my best every day to move forward but it's not easy.

I keep thinking about the what ifs

and what could possibly happen

and to be honest it's kind of holding me back.

Listen..

I was thinking about putting together a girls day.

I'm thinking maybe we go to the beach

you meet some of my girlfriends

I don't know girl. But I'll. think about it.

S. Korea's arms procurement agency revises offset trade guidelines to facilitate SME's.. - Duration: 0:45.

The South Korean government has changed the way it makes deals with overseas defense companies...

to help smaller defense firms here.

The Defense Acquisition Program Administration, as of Monday, has revised what are called

its offset trade guidelines so that when South Korea agrees to buy arms from another country,

the foreign firm will provide benefits to small and medium Korean companies in return,

like buying parts from them.

Offset trade terms are standard in the defense industry.

In exchange for signing major deals in the past, South Korea has accepted technology

in return, but these days its tech is increasingly on par with that of advanced countries, so

the goal has shifted more towards increasing these smaller firms' exports.

U.S. State Department confident N. Korea will denuclearize despite protests: VOA - Duration: 0:37.

The U.S. State Department insisted the denuclearization agreements signed by President Donald Trump

and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at the Singapore summit will be carried out.

Responding to North Korea's statement that the path to denuclearization could be blocked

if America keeps increasing sanctions on the regime,... Washington remains confident the

commitments made by the two leaders will be fulfilled.

According to Voice of America, the State Department said it is Kim's promise to denuclearization

the world is focused on.

It added the goal is still to achieve the final and fully verified denuclearization

of the regime as committed to by the North Korean leader.

S. Korean economy had 23,160,000 jobs in 2017, up 1.4% y/y: Data - Duration: 0:36.

The number of jobs in Korea in 2017 increased by more than 1 percent from a year earlier...

mainly at small and medium sized companies.

According to Statistics Korea, the number of jobs rose by 310-thousand.

At large firms the number fell slightly, by 2-thousand, but at small and mid-sized firms

rose by 160 thousand.

The biggest employer by sector was still manufacturing -- accounting for 20 percent of all the jobs

in the country.

But in 2017 it shed 70 thousand jobs compared to the year before, the most of any industry,

mainly because of the slump in shipbuilding.

S. Korea's Nat'l Assembly to vote on key bills next Thursday in plenary session - Duration: 1:02.

At the national assembly.

A plenary session to vote on pending bills is set for next Thursday.

The agreement was reached between the floor leaders of the three main parties.

They met to discuss the specific agenda for the December extraordinary session that kicked

off today.

The parties agreed to review bills related to raising transparency and rooting out accounting

fraud at private kindergartens.

Form a special committee to hold a parliamentary probe into hiring irregularities in the public

sector.

And consider measures to cushion the side effects of a minimum wage hike coming up next

month.

Another big issue: how to reform the country's electoral system.

The smaller parties want to expand proportional representation -- where the number of seats

they get is in proportion to the percentage of the vote they get nationwide.

Right now, South Koreans get one vote for a representative for their district... and

another vote for a party.

In the 300-member parliament,... 253 seats are single-member districts and 47 members

are chosen by proportional representation.

Seoul named world's top city for conventions, exhibitions for 4th straight year - Duration: 2:00.

High-flying business travellers selected Seoul... as the best place for international gatherings.

The choice was made easy thanks to the city's increased efforts to host global conventions

and exhibitions over the past decade.

Oh Soo-young explains further.

Seoul has been named the best city in the world to hold meetings, conferences and exhibitions

for the fourth consecutive year.

Seoul Metropolitan Government said Monday that the city topped travel magazine Global

Traveler's annual rankings which are based on a survey of 105-thousand frequent business

travelers and high-income subscribers.

Dubai came in second place, followed by Singapore, London and Hong Kong.

Seoul first claimed the top spot in 2013,... before losing out to Singapore the following

year.

But since 2015,...

South Korea's capital city has remained the most attractive destination for business gatherings

and exhibitions.

"International visitors have noted Seoul's unique harmony of traditional and modern qualities,

as well as convenient accommodation, transportation and conference facilities.

We plan to continue growing the MICE sector in scale and quality,... as well as supporting

workers in the industry."

The MICE industry has been one of South Korea's key growth sectors since 2009 when the central

government officially identified the sector as one of its 17 "New Growth Engine Industries."

Among the scores of large-scale global conferences held in the Korean capital,... major milestones

include the G20 Seoul Summit in 2010,... and two nuclear security summits.

Based on a report last year by the Union of International Associations, South Korea has

been the world's top destination for international meetings for two straight years,... with nearly

13-hundred meetings hosted in the country in 2017.

That accounts for some thirteen percent of the total number of international meetings

that year.

In terms of cities,...

Seoul ranked third with 688 meetings, following Singapore and Brussels.

Pres. Moon hints at slowing minimum wage hikes amid backlash - Duration: 2:17.

President Moon Jae-in hinted the government may need to slow down some of its enacted

policies, like higher minimum wage, in order to boost economic growth.

He's also called for patience from the people... until these policies bear fruit.

Shin Se-min has our top story.

President Moon Jae-in, for the first time, has mentioned coming up with measures to complement

some of the economic policies the government has introduced this year.

Chairing the extended ministerial meeting on the economy, in another first, it was a

show of determination that his administration will be zeroing in on the economy next year.

And to spur on the slowing economy, he said the government might slow down the pace at

which it's raising the minimum wage given the backlash from small businesses and the

self-employed.

"New economic policies like the minimum wage hike and the cut in weekly working hours should

take into account the receptiveness of the economy and society as well as the circumstances

of the people concerned.

If necessary, we must also devise complementary measures."

He said the same goes for other key economic policies, ordering his officials to be cautious

when it comes to the policies' possible adverse repercussions.

The idea of slowing down the wage hikes is in tune with what finance minister Hong Nam-ki

said when he told lawmakers that in the new year he will take into account the acceptability

of a wage hike to the market.

Employers have complained that they can't afford the new wages, which have gone up some

11-percent this year alone.

They say they've had to lay people off to make ends meet.

President Moon also said the government should aggressively get rid of obstacles to corporate

investment... because weak investment has added downward pressure on the economy already

grappling with slowing exports.

"But when it comes to his adminsitration's core economic initiative of "inclusive growth,"

President Moon stood firm -- he called for patience and trust until the policies show

results,... and he ordered officials to prove to the public with achievements that the policy

is heading in the right direction.

Shin Se-min, Arirang News."

Finance minister stresses 'inclusive growth' to shift economic paradigm - Duration: 2:13.

Seoul's finance chief, meanwhile said he believes economic growth next year will be similar

to this year at 2-point-6 to 2-point-7 percent.

Hong Nam-ki stressed the importance of making growth inclusive.

Highlighting that the global economy is at a turning point as wealth polarization worsens.

Kim Ji-yeon shares with us his remarks.

In a briefing held on Monday concerning the government's economic plans for next year...

the Minister of Economy and Finance, Hong Nam-ki, said the government's emphasis on

inclusive growth is vital... as the local economy faces growing external risks including

the trade protectionism... which are expected to further affect Korea's exports.

Even though household income and domestic consumption have risen... he said there's

still work to be done when it comes to economic indicators in employment and income distribution...

and he said the government's plans are focused on these issues.

"Venture capital investments reached a record-high of nearly 2-point-7-billion U.S. dollars this

year... and new startups particularly among the youth are rising.

However, investment from the private sector,... the main source of jobs,... is still sluggish."

While the government strengthens its drive to deregulate... it'll also come up with ways

for both traditional and new, innovative industries to prosper together.

The Minister also said the government will come up with measures by the end of this year

to spur innovation in the languid manufacturing sector... as well as measures to revitalize

promising areas of the services sector and to help the self-employed.

Hong also vowed by February to reform the process that determines the country's minimum

wage increases... in a way that'll improve its predictability and fairness so that all

parties in the labor market can accommodate the changes... starting with the wage increases

for 2020.

He pledged to work on expanding the flexible work system from the current three months,...

also by February,... indicating that the government will continue to support the 52-hour weekly

cap on working hours.

Through these efforts, Hong says the government aims to achieve an annual growth rate of 2-point-6-percent

or 2-point-7-percent for next year... downgraded from the previous 2-point-8 percent forecasted

earlier this year.

#53 LA GRANDE ANNONCE : LE PROJET "DULAN" /Sur la Terre de Kalaweit... - Duration: 8:09.

Hello everyone then today 17 December I wanted to I promised you

announces the launch of the most ambitious in the history of Kalaweit

a project as important as it is extremely urgent. So everything starts there is

several months when I receive information regarding a very beautiful

forest around a lake. We had heard about this lake because

twice we had received crocodiles that had been caught

in nets there, so curious I performed aerial spotting

in paramotor is there from the sky I discovered a very very beautiful forest

unfortunately surrounded by companies of palm oil and coal

but this forest roughly represents 1500 hectares and 1500 hectares

It's not nothing.

So in late October I decided to go do the first ground tracking and in

penetrating the forest... A huge surprise ... Traces of animals everywhere ...

Sunbears ... Sambar deers ... Clouded leopards ... Gibbons in the trees

langurs ...

and after ten minutes of walking the first nest of orangutan ... I was going

to find many of them, before my first meeting...

It's been just ten minutes in the forest, and I already found

what I was looking for, there is an orangutan nest.

So it's an old nest but it proves already the existence of orangutans in the

area.

So obviously you can follow the details of these survey in the

next episodes of the series "in the World of Kalaweit"

but today it's time to save these animals and this forest.

Indeed this forest became the sanctuary for maybe a hundred

of orangutans who have fled the deforestation caused by companies

of palm oil and coal

And the other observation while going on the spot is that the economy of the villagers is

focused on fishing, fishing in this lake, during all these years they have

protected the forest to protect the water quality but like all the

forest belongs to private landowners, it may well be that

people are selling to companies, the forest is being destroyed and the erosion

at the end destroys the lake, and therefore the resources of the villagers. All

villagers including the village chief want to work with Kalaweit to

save this forest. We have signed a memorandum of understanding with the chief

village on December 3rd, they want to see Kalaweit buy the

land before companies to protect this forest but you have to do

quick. Some companies have already measured

some lands and if we want to save these animals, save these orangutans the

only way is to buy before them and many hectares. The hectare costs

about 15 million of Rupiah, or 900 euros. Kalaweit already knows

how to create and protect conservation areas, then at first I

do not give you the exact name of the area. It is located in the province of

central Kalimantan, that's all that I can tell you for the moment, it's

very important since we are still in a critical situation.

Create private reserves by buying land is the only way to save

these orangs outans like this female that I present to you. I baptized her

Dulan, she fled deforestation caused by

the palm oil companies and she has found refuge in this forest

No big and long utopian and idyllic speech about conservation

will save her, hope is only in concrete actions, the reality of the ground

is this: the companies and the private landowners, the

private planters, buy now to destroy the forest and we need

to buy the land before them. In areas where Kalaweit has already bought

the forest, the villagers thank us already since obviously they can

always practice their ancestral and traditional activities

such as gathering, collecting rattan, only things that Kalaweit forbids

it is obviously logging and hunting. To save this forest, its

inhabitants, we must freeze the land with the support of the villagers

what we already have, I need your support, to relay

Information, we will buy 30 hectares

now and then we will have to buy 100, 200, 300 hectares, the problem is

that when Kalaweit will start to buy land, companies

may accelerate their own purchases...

In short, there is urgency you have understood ... So I know it's a big project

and that you are very solicited, but there is no more concrete and then enough

all these reports that draw a portrait alarming of the planet

time is up for action and we must act now to save what we can.

Those who talk to you about specific cases, issues

easily identifiable, are those who are really fighting on the ground

to make a difference, I'm not talking about studies, reports,

census, I'm talking to you about protection, safeguarding,

roll up the sleeves, to silence Chainsaws and guns ...

Join us and help us to buy land as much as we can, to save these

men of the forest, so ideally let's look at the 1500 hectares, obviously, but

everything that will be bought by Kalaweit, will not be destroyed, the fate of these

animals, of these orangs utans, of Dulan, is in our hands

I promise you, I will not disappoint you no, I will continue to fight again

and always, to save these animals ... Help me,

talk around you, join us, send an e-mail for more

information to the address that appears at the bottom of the screen

if you also want to be part of this adventure send an e-mail

imagine actions, fundraising actions, we can do it together

And I also propose you to send me all your questions regarding this

new project through the comments of the various posts

about this video on Youtube, Facebook,

instagram, twitter, and I will answer to all your questions in the first

video of January.. That's it...

The challenge : save almost a hundred Orangutans, save Dulan, and 1500

hectares of forest became a refuge for exceptional biodiversity, the situation

is simple, we buy the land, we buy this forest, we save Dulan and

its congeners.

we do nothing...

They die...
