Advertisers Flee As Tucker Carlson Triples Down On Hateful Comments - Duration: 4:43.

Tucker carlson has decided that rather than apologizing for his hateful remarks about

immigrants coming into the United States and making it dirtier and poorer and more divided,

that he is just going to continue to double down, triple down, quadruple down on them,

whatever he has to do on his program. Last night, he said that he is not going to be

intimidated by these people calling for advertisers to boycott his show and he's not going to

change. He's going to keep doing what he always does, which is being a vial hate filled a

a liar. That's what Tucker Carlson is and that's what he does best. So rather than coming

out and apologizing, tucking tail and understand that the network's losing money on him at

this point, he's just going to keep on going. At this point, he is now last at least 20

advertisers for a show, and here's the list.

Sandisk, Pfizer, Takita Pharmaceuticals, CareerBuilder, TD Ameritrade, Scotty vest, united explorer,

just for men voices, any optical IHOC, Jaguar Pacific life, indeed bowflex smile, direct

club, nerdwallet, minted into ancestry and Soda Stream. That's a lot of advertisers and

there's some big names in there with big advertising dollars, but Tucker Carlson, rather than admit

he was wrong, rather than apologizing to millions upon millions of people on this planet, instead

wants to say, I'm not going to be intimidated and I'm not going to change. I'm going to

keep doing what I do. Wow, that's, that's gutsy. I'll give you that. Uh, but this isn't

about that. What this is actually about are the people out there trying to defend Tucker

in shaming those who are allegedly trying to deep platform him. Nate silver happens

to be the biggest culprit here. Came out yesterday, uh, with a lot of tweets on it, trying to

defend it, warning us that, oh my God, you do this to Tucker.

It's going to get done to the rest of us. Ah, we have to stop. Literally has never happened.

Uh, throughout all of these boycotts. Whenever conservatives go on there and say something

insanely racist up, it's never been like, retaliated against. Right? I mean, we do have

a few instances. Obviously, you know, Sam Sedar was the victim of this. They go back,

they try to find an old tweet, take it out of context and and, and have something bad

happen to you. James Gunn with guardians of the galaxy is another example, but in terms

of d platforming, you know, really getting out there and starving the left of money.

That hasn't necessarily happened. But here's the thing. There is nothing wrong with calling

for an advertising boycott of Tucker Carlson. I support that 100 percent. I haven't seen

anybody out there saying we have to get Tucker Carlson off the air.

I'm sure they exist and I'm sure they existed long before these racist comments and they're

going to continue to exist until Tucker Carlson is no longer the host of a show because people

don't like him because he spreads hate and division and encourages his followers to go

out there and spread that same hate and division in their daily lives. It is dangerous. His

words do have consequences and that's what I don't understand why people like Nate Silver

can't see that. What's wrong with us saying, hey Pfizer, you shouldn't advertise on them.

And Pfizer looking at what he's saying. Finally and saying, Oh crap, you're right, I shouldn't.

That's not d platforming. That's actually the free market at work. I don't understand

this defensive Carlson. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever if he goes out there and

makes racist comments and suddenly corporations, thanks to the activists realized that he said

these things, they have every right to come out and say, I don't want my brand associated

with that.

I don't want to be a part of this. I don't want him to say that immigrants are dirty

and then cut to a commercial for my company that makes me look bad. They have every right

to do it and that is what is happening here. Me Personally, I mentioned the other day,

the Tucker Carlson's in no danger of losing his job and he's still not in danger of losing

his job. He is going to remain on that platform and hell, even if he doesn't, he still has

a. was it the daily caller? I think his, his, uh, there's a lot of the daily conservatives

because they're not very creative with names, but whatever. So he's going to be fine. He's

not losing any platform. He's going to be just fine. So can we please stop trying to

say that advertiser boycotts don't work or that they're going to backfire on us because

so far hasn't actually happened. All we've done is helped to quiet down some of the racism

coming from these idiots on Fox.

Antibiotics, Antivirals, and Vaccines - Duration: 9:29.

Captions are on! Click CC at bottom right to turn off.

Antibiotics.

Antivirals.

Vaccines.

Have you ever wondered what they do or how they work?

One thing to understand is that they can greatly help the work of your immune system.

Your immune system is fascinating.

We're being very general here because this is not a video about the immune system specifically,

but it's important to understand a few basics of the immune system to comprehend the amazing

work of antibiotics, antivirals, and vaccines.

Your immune system is designed to protect you against pathogens.

Pathogens can be all kinds of things.

Certain kinds of bacteria.

Viruses.

Infectious protists, yes, unfortunately there are some dangerous types of protists.

Certain types of fungi.

Parasitic worms.

These can all be pathogens.

Your skin is actually part of your first line of defense in protecting invasion of pathogens.

Not just as a barrier, but also, there are helpful microbes that colonize your skin and

can keep bad microbe numbers down.

Mucous membranes are also part of the first line of defense.

But pathogens do get in, and when they do, you have more lines of defense to protect

you.

For example, your second line of defense includes non-specific white blood cells such as macrophages.

These cells are incredible; they actually engulf pathogens.

These are involved in a fascinating response called the inflammatory response which we

could have an entire video on.

Then, you have a third line of defense.

Unlike the first two lines of defense, the third line of defense is considered more of

a specific defense as it can target specific pathogens.

Examples of immune cells involved in this specific response include white blood cells

known as lymphocytes.

T lymphocytes, or T cells, and B lymphocytes, or B cells.

B and T cells are very specific for reacting to antigens.

Antigens are molecules that can be found on the pathogens.

Although we should point out that antigens can be anything foreign in your body ---for

example, someone who has an allergy to pollen may react to pollen antigens.

An antigen can activate a response from a T cell and/or a B cell.

And, while again, this video doesn't get into the fascinating types of immune responses

with these cells which we encourage you to explore, we do want to mention one very important

fact before we move on.

There are memory B and T cells.

This is very significant because these cells can "remember" a pathogen.

These memory B and T cells remain in the body.

If the pathogen returns, these cells can multiply and combat the pathogen quickly and effectively.

We'll explain why that's especially important when we get to vaccines.

So back to antibiotics, antivirals, and vaccines.

How are they involved with all of this…what do they do…how do they work?

Let's start with antibiotics.

Antibiotics target one type of pathogen: bacteria.

Now while not all bacteria are bad---in fact, many bacteria play many helpful roles in both

our bodies and the environment---the infectious types of bacteria can be a problem.

It is bacteria that cause strep throat, staph infections, some types of pneumonia, UTIs.

And while your immune system will go after these bacteria, sometimes it could use a little

help.

That's where antibiotics come in.

Antibiotics can destroy bacteria in many ways…they can damage bacterial cell walls or block the

production of critical proteins the bacteria may need.

Antibiotics can be prescribed by a doctor in a pill form, but they can also be injected

or delivered in an IV.

Now the word antibiotic can be taken apart where you see "anti" which can mean against

and "bio" which can mean life.

And that's really helpful because you don't want to get it mixed up with two other words

that, unfortunately, sound quite similar.

One of those words is antigen, as we had mentioned earlier, which is a molecule that can be found

on a pathogen.

Antibodies are proteins made by some of your immune cells, such as B cells, that can be

used to help fight pathogens.

They often have this fascinating Y like shape.

Some antibodies bind to a pathogen making the pathogen unable to function correctly.

But antibodies also can be used to mark pathogens so they can get "eaten" by a macrophage.

Now, we had mentioned that immune cells can contain a type of memory when they encounter

a pathogen.

This can include the ability to produce antibodies against pathogens that your immune cells have

already encountered.

And this is where vaccines come in.

Vaccines are a way of exposing your body to an inactive form of a pathogen or a weakened

form of a pathogen---since it's inactive or weakened, it prevents you from actually

developing the disease from the vaccination itself.

However, your body still launches an immune response.

By launching an immune response, which includes the production of antibodies against the pathogen,

the immune system will retain "memory" against the pathogen.

That way if your body ever encounters the real, active pathogen---your body will be

familiar with it already and therefore we say that your body already has immunity against

the pathogen.

This can result in allowing your body to launch an attack against the real thing more quickly

and efficiently.

Vaccines can be effective against many different types of bacteria and viruses.

We take for granted the amazing work of vaccines in keeping people from developing devastating

bacterial and viral diseases.

But thanks to vaccines, some horrible bacterial and viral diseases are considered eradicated

in some areas, but it is important for them to be continued to prevent some of these diseases

from re-emerging.

There's also another really important thing you should know about vaccines.

Some people may not be able to receive certain vaccinations---from someone whose immune system

is severely compromised because they perhaps have an illness of some type---to a newborn

baby not yet old enough to receive many vaccines---to a pregnant mother.

These vulnerable populations rely on something known as "herd immunity" - that is, if

others around them are vaccinated against a certain pathogen, that may offer them a

degree of protection against that pathogen because it cannot easily spread to them.

So vaccinations not only offer protection for the person receiving them, but also, they

can offer protection for others around them.

For an example of this, let's consider the contagious viral disease Rubella.

A vaccine for Rubella is given typically in early childhood.

Rubella generally results in a rash with some mild symptoms such as a low grade fever or

sore throat.

But, if a pregnant woman contracts this virus, her unborn child can suffer severe birth defects.

But women who are pregnant are advised not to get the Rubella vaccine while they're pregnant

so they can be considered a vulnerable population during that timeframe if they do not already

have immunity from this virus.

Herd immunity can be protective in an example such as this.

Learn more about "herd immunity" in some of our further reading suggestions.

And, because there is a lot of misinformation about vaccines out there especially as of

recent years, we have also included some further reading suggestions about vaccines in general

that you may want to check out.

So as we discussed, vaccines can help our immune system be ready for all kinds of pathogens,

including bacteria and viruses.

Recall that antibiotics are specific against bacteria only.

But antivirals are designed to help target viruses.

Antivirals can come in many forms such as a pill, liquid, or given as an IV form.

They can make a virus infection less severe, although many of them have to be given in

a specific time frame after contracting the virus in order to be effective.

Many antivirals work by affecting virus replication, which is difficult, because if you recall

from our virus video, viruses reproduce by using your own cell's machinery.

So an antiviral needs to be able to stop the virus without negatively affecting your own

cells.

For example, if the virus has a critical protein that it uses the host cell to make---an antiviral

can be designed to stop that protein from being made---but it would be important to

verify that the protein is not one that is used by your own cells.

One last thing.

Pathogens can change.

Mutate.

Evolve.

In our natural selection video, we talk about how antibiotics may not be as effective against

certain types of bacteria due to antibiotic resistance that can occur.

In our virus video, we mention how viruses can mutate.

An example is the virus that causes influenza, aka the flu.

That virus changes frequently so a flu shot vaccine that works this year likely won't

be as effective against the influenza virus that is the most common next year.

There are actually scientists that work hard to predict which influenza virus type will

be the most common each year, and the flu vaccine is designed to launch an immune response

against that specific type so that, if you encounter it, you can have protection.

That's why there is a different flu shot each year and sometimes the effectiveness

can vary each year.

With mutations occurring, this is also a challenge in developing antivirals.

An antiviral that was designed to target a specific virus may not work on a mutated form.

Scientists continue to look for solutions to counter the ever-changing pathogen world.

Well that's it for the Amoeba Sisters, and we remind you to stay curious.

Top 10 BEST Hit Rap Songs of 2018 - Duration: 14:02.

It's the most wonderful time of the year, of course

I'm not talking about Christmas, I'm talking about end of year lists time.

These videos are always my favourite to make (not to mention they perform kinda nicely)

so I am hyped to finally be here telling you what my 10 favourite hit rap songs of 2018

were.

Keep in mind for songs to be eligible they have to have charted on the Hot 100 at some

point, and that's pretty much the only requirement.

So yeh, make sure to click that subscribe button and notification bell (even though

you haven't seen the content I'm asking you to sub for yet) to make sure you don't

miss out on any of my end of year lists.

So with all that being said, this is CDTVProductions, and let's look at the 10 best hit rap songs

of 2018.

10 - Lil Baby & Gunna "Drip Too Hard"

I'm not exactly the biggest fan of Baby or Gunna, Drip Harder was relatively enjoyable,

but they do kinda strike me as 2 guys who stumbled across a Slime Season album one day

and went "YES... that could be me".

But it's hard to deny that they made a really fun track with this one.

The flows are so slick from both of them, they just easily breeze over the smooth guitar

and skittering drums on the instrumental, and they work really well with this more lively

sound.

I can give these guys props where it's due, there's not many tracks I love Gunna on

so I really appreciate it when I like what he does, and Baby is alright but a little

repetitive most times, but yeah they both do a really nice job on this.

9 - Logic "Warm It Up" (feat.

Young Sinatra)

It went like this.

Logic announced Bobby Tarantino 2.

I looked at the tracklist for Bobby Tarantino.

I see a track featuring Logic's alter ego Young Sinatra.

I proceed to get very.

VERY. excited.

And did this track deliver?

Absolutely, making for one of the strongest tracks on the project it came from.

It's a track that perfectly fuses the trap sounds found on the Bobby Tarantino tracks

with the boom bap sound of the Young Sinatra tracks, and massive props have to be given

to Logic and the producers 6ix and Tee-WaTT for that.

The way the drums alter so quickly between the boom bap sound to a trap one between the

verses and the hook happens so abruptly, but they make it sound so natural, and Logic rides

over the percussion in both segments effortlessly.

Mixing the nostalgia of the Young Sinatra sound with the hype of a Bobby Tarantino track

is a cool concept, and it's executed perfectly here.

8 - SOB X RBE "Paramedic!"

This was the song that put me on to SOB's music, and I'm very thankful that it did

that.

To this day, I'd still probably say this is their best track, allowing each of the

4 members to showcase what they can offer within the group and display their chemistry

at the same time.

Slimmy B has the most intriguing voice, Lul G pulls of some nice melody rapping, Yhung

T.O. does the same just a bit smoother as he's the best singer in the group, and then

we have Daboii who is my personal favourite on here.

His bold, aggressive delivery has a contagious energy to it, and he easily has the most entertaining

line on the whole track.

I'd say it has a slightly different vibe to the rest of their music, but I think this

type of sound is really fitting for them.

Hearing Kendrick team up with these guys to make a west coast banger was amazing, they

made something special with this one.

7 - ScHoolboy Q, Saudi & 2 Chainz "X"

And straight away we have yet another track from the Black Panther soundtrack, honestly

that soundtrack just blew me away and I think this was the best track from it.

Everyone provides exactly what they need to, Saudi gives a bit of a lowkey autotune verse,

ScHoolboy Q comes through with some wild sounding cadences and his distinctive voice, then finally

we get a beat switch as soon as the 2 Chainz verse starts and he wastes no time giving

us a great verse, impressing with his flow from the first bars.

Seriously, 2 Chainz has had an amazing track record for guest verses in 2018, a fact that

I hope doesn't go under-appreciated.

And of course Kendrick has a great contribution with the hook which is sure to get you amped

up.

That Black Panther soundtrack was something else, and we got some extraordinary material

from it.

6 - Metro Boomin "No More" (feat.

Travis Scott, 21 Savage & Kodak Black)

Before I heard this track, when I saw Kodak Black, Travis Scott & 21 Savage listed as

features on a Metro Boomin produced track, I assumed we'd be getting a dark, gritty

banger track, something in a Without Warning style, and to an extent we do get that...

but I didn't expect it to be a track that covers the pitfalls of addiction and how it

can make you feel like a failure.

Like this has a way more depressing mood to it than I pictured it would, and it makes

for something pretty special.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked Kodak on here.

Something about his slurred rap singing sound a little more pained than usual, very fitting

for the subject matter, and he's got some bleak lyrics.

The high point is easily 21 Savage though, who comes through with one of his career highlights

in terms of verses.

Him talking about wanting to quit drugs but being unable to and feeling weak because of

that, it makes for pretty heavy stuff.

Then the song closes out with all 3 features performing their own versions of the hook

over the intoxicating production from Metro, bringing the track to a really satisfying

end.

This was dark, gloomy, and realistic, definitely the highlight from Metro's album for me.

5 - Joyner Lucas & Chris Brown "Stranger Things

So I'm assuming the Angels & Demons album is just chilling along with The Harverd Dropout,

Eternal Atake, Yandhi, and 2Pac in Cuba, but at least we got this gem out of it so far.

I really wasn't sure how a Chris Brown and Joyner Lucas collab would work going into

this, I knew Chris could rap as well as sing, but I wasn't convinced it would be a good

mix until I actually heard it.

Joyner and Chris have a surprising amount of chemistry, taking turns rapping their respective

verses before they eventually merge their vocals together, delivering this amazing harmonised

rapping segment towards the tail end of the song.

It's basically a track with more of a focus on brag rap and being a flow clinic, and I

have no problems with that, it works as that.

After this I am completely sold on the idea of a whole Joyner & Chris Brown collab album,

now we just have to hope we actually get one from them.

Hell of a track though.

4 - J. Cole "ATM"

Listening to this song with no context, it may be kind of easy to mistake it for a materialistic

track about wanting money and not much else, but then if you take a deeper dive into the

lyrics and look at where it came from, it actually serves as a commentary on what can

happen if you get addicted to money, which is what the "ATM" in the title stands

for.

Of course the message isn't super subtle or anything, but I always really enjoy songs

that can serve as a mainstream hit as well as having at least a bit of substance under

the surface, and that's what ATM provides, analysing the deluded thoughts of someone

who thinks money will be the solution to all the pain in their life.

This is rapped with Cole's words hitting all the right beats over the bouncy rhythm

of the drums, which was apparently the hardest part of the track to get right.

He definitely perfected them with this being the final result though.

Due to this, plus the easy to remember hook, Cole made a very addictive track about an

addiction here.

3 - Travis Scott "No Bystanders" (feat.

Sheck Wes & Juice WRLD)

First off, I may have a deep, searing hate for Mo Bamba, but I'll never deny that Sheck

Wes ad libs can make literally anything more hype.

So yeah, suitable choice for the hook on this one.

The thing I love the most about this one though is the Days Before Rodeo style rapping Travis

comes through with on the first and second verses in particular, maybe I'm not remembering

correctly but I think it's been a long time since we've heard him really spit a verse

like that.

His lyrics mainly focus on a reckless party lifestyle, before a beat switch occurs and

brings out a more introspective verse from Travis, and while they're both good sections,

I do have to say I prefer the first part of the track.

And while Juice WRLD comparatively has a very small contribution to the track, it does help

to add a depressing undertone to it, kind of representing the aftermath of a night out

partying.

This song is incredibly solid, and the chorus almost makes me forgive big Shecky boy for

Mo Bamba.

Almost.

2 - Lil Wayne "Mona Lisa" (feat.

Kendrick Lamar)

If there's one thing you can say for Kendrick and Wayne, it's that they know how to tell

a story and keep every second of it captivating with their breathtaking flows and their frantic,

varying vocals.

On Wayne's verses, he spins a narrative of him setting up people to be robbed with

the help of a woman named Liz, who seduces the targeted men so they're sitting ducks

when Wayne comes in to rob them.

The whole time while he's telling this story, despite his intensity, it's hard to not

have a smile on your face the whole time due to Wayne's great comedic timing and sense

of humour in his lyrics.

Mona Lisa in these verses refers to the girl tricking the men she sets up, being deceptive

just like Mona Lisa's smile.

Then Kendrick comes in with some dizzying flows and spins a story where he switches

perspectives halfway through, telling the tale of a woman who cheats on a man with rappers

such as Kendrick and Wayne.

This eventually leads down the path of the man feeling so heartbroken and devastated

that he takes his own life, and Kendrick's voice conveys this distress exceptionally

well.

This story Kendrick tells also ties into the Mona Lisa theme, with deception playing a

large role in it again.

I honestly love everything about this song, the story, the flows, the intensity of the

vocals, all the layers to it, it's just such a fun listen and easily one of the songs

with the highest replay value in 2018.

Thank god Tha Carter V finally dropped and we got to be blessed with this masterpiece.

1 - Eminem "Lucky You" (feat.

Joyner Lucas)

As someone who has an entire series based around counting the fastest verses from particular

rappers, a series in which I've covered Joyner twice and Eminem three times, this

song made me absolutely MOIST.

Ok, ok, obviously that isn't the only reason that I like it, it would be doing it a dis-service

to call it purely a fast rapping track with not much else, because it definitely is more

than that.

I like the idea of the track, with Joyner representing the underdog who's always working

hard, but never seems to fully break through into that upper echelon of hip hop acknowledgment,

then Eminem mirrors some of the flows and lyrics from Joyner's verse and flips them,

giving his perspective from that upper echelon, as a man who made it to the pinnacle.

It's a really cool dynamic and it was great to see them work off of each other like that.

Of course it's almost a guarantee I would love this track as Eminem introduced me to

rap and Joyner is one of my favourites out right now, so seeing them come together was

a beautiful moment.

Not to mention, I just think Em sounds great over banger-style beats like this one.

The fact that they have another track together coming on Joyner's upcoming album has me

even more excited, especially as it seems it's going to be more storytelling focused.

Either way it'll have to be something good, because Eminem & Joyner set the bar for their

collabs very, very high with this one.
