Serena Williams opens up about Meghan Markle's pregnancy as giving some advises to Duchess.
With Princess Meghan Markle expecting her first child with Prince Harry, her good friend, tennis star Serena Williams, has some advice for her.
Williams opened up to People at the launch for her Serena clothing line launch in Miami, where she revealed that the Duchess is still the same despite being royalty now.
'I'm like, "How are you?" and she's like, "No, how are?" and I'm like, "You're so sweet, but I'm really asking – how are YOU?" said Serena
'I'm like, "Meghan, stop being so nice… you're the pregnant one, aren't you supposed to have hormones, why are you so sweet?" But that's always been her,' Williams said of her friend.
Williams had her first child in September 2017 with husband Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, and while the tennis legend still gives the mom-to-be plenty of advice, she, 'still gives me more advice'.
She did have a simple yet effective piece of advice for all first-time mothers, which she learned early on: 'It will come'.
'I don't know what's going to happen, I didn't know how I'm going to have a baby, and it all came,' she explained.
'It's so crazy, I totally changed, and it literally is like a switch. And so, I say that, "It will come"'.
Markle also praised her friend Williams in a 2017 interview, where she said that she knew Williams would make a great mom.
'She will be an amazing mom,' Markle told Vogue last September. 'The very best, because she is so attuned to balancing strength and sensitivity'
'Plus, given that she is pretty epic at karaoke, I think she'll put her signature Serena spin on singing lullabies for the baby
I can't wait for that!'. Serena attended the Royal Wedding in May with Ohanian, while Markle cheered on Williams at Wimbledon along with fellow Royal Kate Middleton.
Williams and Markle met at the Super Bowl in 2010 and became fast friends.. Just four years later, they appeared at the Super Bowl to compete in DIRECTV's Celebrity Beach Bowl.
A year after meeting Williams, Markle landed the role of Rachel Zane in USA Network's Suits, which she starred in for the show's first seven seasons.
Meghan's maternity leave masterplan: Pregnant Duchess wants 'natural home birth' in Windsor Cottage.
The Duchess of Sussex is said to be reading up on hypnobirthing techniques as she prepares to welcome her first child in the spring - and could even consider giving birth at home in Windsor
. Pregnant Meghan, 37, is preparing to leave Nottingham Cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace as she and Prince Harry make Frogmore Cottage their official residence, and there is 'some talk' of her having the baby at the couple's new home, according to Vanity Fair's royal correspondent Katie Nicholl
As it's the Duchess' first child doctors could recommend a hospital birth, but Meghan is not expected to check into the private £7,500 a night Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital in London, where the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to all three of her children, but rather in Windsor
. A source told the magazine Meghan is busy drawing up plans for a nursery at Frogmore Cottage as well as a 'mother-in-law suite' for Doria Ragland, who 'will be encouraging Meg to go for a natural birth'
. The pregnant Duchess is still attending engagements, and last night made a surprise solo visit to King's College London to discuss how higher education can help to tackle global issues like human trafficking with academics.
The source said: 'Doria plans to be around a lot when the baby arrives, and there are plans for her to have a dedicated space at their new home.
'She wants to be on hand to help Meghan and Harry with the baby. Doria will be involved and if she's involved she will be encouraging Meg to go for a natural birth'.
FEMAIL has contacted the palace for comment. Giving birth at home would be in contrast to the exclusive Lindo Wing, where Amal Clooney gave birth to her twins last year, and which even offers champagne on its menu for thrilled parents to toast new arrivals
Prices at the plush West London hospital ward start at an eye-watering £5,900 for a one-night stay, with a stay in one of the suites closer to £7,500
Kate and William's three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, were all born in the Lindo Wing, just like their father and their Uncle Harry before them
The news that Meghan and Harry will move away from Kensington Palace to make their home 25 miles away from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Windsor has seen rumours of a royal rift swirling in recent days.
The Duchess of Sussex has long been an advocate of natural lifestyle choices including meditation, yoga and a balanced diet.
During her recent tour of Australia, Meghan told royal fans how she was relying on yoga to boost her energy levels
The duchess' mother Doria Ragland is a yoga instructor, and fitness fan Meghan - who was frequently snapped out and about with her yoga mat in the days before she joined The Firm - has previously described the practice as being 'in her blood'
Although the exact date Meghan is expected to give birth is a closely guarded secret, she was thought to be around 15 weeks pregnant during the recent Commonwealth Tour, which could mean she gives birth as early as March 2019.
Meghan Markle's old headshot and résumé resurface online - revealing the actress-turned-royal's height and weight, as well as her 'special skills', including kickboxing, tap and ballet.
Meghan Markle's old headshot and résumé have resurfaced online, offering a candid insight into the Duchess of Sussex's life when she was working as a struggling actress
It is not known exactly when the résumé was first used, however it does not list her work as a suitcase model on Deal or No Deal
On which she first appeared in 2006 - with her final professional role listed as the part of 'Natalie "Hot Chick"' in Ashton Kutcher's 2005 movie A Lot Like Love
The résumé, which was posted on Facebook by an unnamed user alongside a stunning black-and-white headshot of the then-budding actress, also lists Meghan's height and weight
Revealing that she was 5'6" and 113lbs, with her hair and eyes both described simply as 'brown'.
At the time, Meghan's professional TV experience was limited to just two roles - her two-episode appearance on General Hospital in 2001
When she played a nurse named Jill, and her 2004 role on CBS's sci-fi legal drama Century City, on which she appeared as a party guest named Natasha
Prior to those roles, and her bit part in A Lot Like Love, Meghan's acting experience was limited to an appearance on Nick News at age 11
When she was interviewed about her thoughts on gender equality, and the two starring roles that she won while studying at Northwestern University.
There are also a number of theatre roles included on the résumé, from a part in the musical Annie, in which she featured as 'July/Star to Be', to a role in Stepping Out, the 1984 play that was written by British writer Richard Harris in 1984
A young Meghan, who would likely have been around the age of 24 when she wrote the résumé, also shared the various training that she had undergone
Revealing that she studied with a number of professionals in various disciplines from 'TV/Film' to 'Musical Comedy' to 'Voice for Performance'
Interestingly, although Meghan is now arguably one of the most well-known women in the world, the unnamed Facebook user who shared these intimate insights into her past
Revealed that the management group they were associated with at the time would not hire the then-actress because she had 'just a few credits'.
'I had the pleasure the meet the lovely Meghan Markle several times as an agent but funny enough I couldn't convince the agency to sign her with just a few credits'
The agent added that the initial refusal didn't stop a determined Meghan however, revealing that she 'kept calling' even after being told 'no'
. 'I wondered today if her cell still works?' the poster continued, before adding that they 'really had an instinct about her so much that I had her headshot/resume and cell on file'
. The unknown person then jokes that they are going to 'try calling her tomorrow', adding that the 'least they can do is let the owner of her old cell number know'
. After revealing the origins of the résumé and headshot, the poster then goes on to praise Mark Teschner
The casting director on General Hospital, for his decision to give Meghan 'her first network television credit', writing: 'You sure knew how to pick them'
Meghan went on to slowly build up her résumé with more roles. While it doesn't appear on this current iteration, in 2005 she also played the role of Cori in an episode of the Shannon Elizabeth series Cuts
Which was followed by an episode playing the character Teresa in an episode of the Busy Philipps show Love, Inc
that same year.. Come 2006, she booked more small parts, appearing in an episode of The War at Home (which starred Michael Rapaport), the TV movie Deceit (starring Emmanuelle Chriqui and Matt Long), and an episode of CSI: NY
She also scored a more steady gig as a briefcase girl on the game show Deal or No Deal, which last 34 episodes from 2006 to 2007.
Though she tried out briefcases number 11 and 12 in her first few stints, she found a match with number 24, which she carried for 31 shows.
Looking back on her time there, Meghan told Esquire in 2013 that the pretty-girl-with-a-briefcase job was a way to pay the bills.
'Definitely working on Deal or No Deal was a learning experience, and it helped me to understand what I would rather be doing,' she said
Adding that it was 'in the category of things I was doing while I was auditioning to try to make ends meet'
She left Deal or No Deal some time in 2007 and did more traditional acting in 2008, grabbing roles in the 90210 reboot
In which she played Wendy for two episodes — and a one-episode gig with 'Til Death.
She was also in two TV movies that year: The Apostles and Good Behavior, the latter of which also starred her suits co-star Patrick J
Adams.. In 2009, a 27-year-old Meghan nabbed a starring role in a Tostitos commercial that resurfaced soon
After she and Prince Harry announced their engagement, much to the delight of fans and royal-watchers.
Through the next three years while waiting for Suits to come calling. She kept busy with a bunch of minor TV roles, including on Knight Rider, Without a Trace, Fringe, The League, and CSI: Miami.
She started picking up more movie roles, too, appearing in Remember Me and Horrible Bosses
Finally, in 2011, came her big break: the role of Rachel Zane on Suits, on which she appeared for 108 episodes that ran through 2008.
During the run of the show, Meghan also starred in the movies Random Encounters and Anti-Social, started her blog The Tig
And used her growing fame to add some brand partnerships with Birchbox, Reitmans, and Bobbi Brown.
But in 2017 as she announced her engagement to Prince Harry, Meghan also announced that she was giving up acting to start her new life in the UK.
'What's been really exciting, as we talk about this as the transition out of my career'
She said in her joint BBC interview with her then-husband-to-be, 'is that the causes that have been very important to me, I can focus even more energy on.
'You realize that as you have access, or a voice that people are willing to listen to, [it comes with] a lot of responsibility, which I take seriously.
'I don't see it as giving anything up,' she went on. 'I just see it as a change. It's a new chapter
And keep in mind I've been working on my show for seven years. We were very fortunate to have that sort of longevity on a series
'For me, once we hit the 100 episode marker, I thought, I have ticked this box and I feel really proud of the work we've done there and now it's time to work as a team with [Harry]'.
