Kensington Palace Started Hunts to Stop Leaks About Rift Between Kate and Meghan.
Kensington Palace has started a "mole hunt" to find whoever is responsible for a number of unfavourable leaks about a rift between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.
A number of potentially damaging stories have appeared in the UK press that have focused on a growing hostility between the Duchess of Sussex, 37, and the Duchess of Cambridge, 36.
Kensington Palace is said to have launched the hunt for the source of the leaks, according to the Mail on Sunday.
Among the rumours, none of which have been confirmed, include Meghan causing Kate Middleton to cry after a bridesmaid fitting for her daughter Charlotte.
Meghan Markle has also reportedly been sharp with her staff, including reducing her PA, Melissa Toubati, 39, to tears and ultimately leading to her handing in her resignation.
Prince Harry, 34, has also been throwing his weight around, angered that neither his brother, Prince William, or courtiers have been "rolling out the red carpet" for his bride.
There has also been speculation The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are moving out of Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage in the grounds of Windsor Castle due to tensions between the two households.
Prince Harry and his pregnant wife Meghan Markle will move into the historic cottage on the royal family's Windsor Estate early next year, Kensington Palace recently confirmed.
The couple, given the titles the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after marrying in Windsor in May, will live in Frogmore Cottage, a two-storey stucco-faced house in Windsor Home Park close to the castle.
They will relocate to their new home, around 32 kilometres southwest of London, "as they prepare for the arrival of their first child," the palace said in a statement.
"Windsor is a very special place for their royal highnesses and they are grateful that their official residence will be on the estate," it added.
Prince Harry and Meghan, who returned earlier this month from a 16-day tour Pacific tour, currently live in Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace in west London.
Described as cosy and "modest", it consists of two reception rooms and two bedrooms.
The Palace said the couple's office would remain there.. Tensions may have also started as early as last Christmas when Meghan is said to have suggested she did not feel entirely welcome with all members of the Royal Family.
Prince Charles is said to have tried to smooth things over with an invite to Anmer Hall — William and Kate's country home — but it backfired and the couples reportedly had a "ghastly row".
A royal aide told the paper Meghan was "downright rude".. The source said: "Kate had a quiet word with Meghan.
"It escalated rapidly after Meghan complained to Harry that she had been 'told off'.
"He took her side, while William defended Kate, who was five months pregnant with Louis and certainly didn't want this sort of confrontation".
Royal biographer Robert Jobson also claims the Queen had to speak to Harry about Meghan's attitude after a disagreement about which tiara she would wear at their wedding in May this year.
Kensington Palace declined to comment when approached by The Sun Online.. Kensington Palace issues rare statement about Kate, Meghan 'feud'.
Kensington Palace has issued a rare statement about a recent alleged argument between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.
Following The Sun's report on Saturday that the Duchess of Cambridge got upset with the former actor over how she spoke to Middleton's staff, a Kensington Palace spokesman denied the claim to the British paper.
"This never happened," the spokesman said.. As reported in People, the palace does not usually respond to rumours and did not issue a statement regarding any other reports, including one that claimed Kate, 36, was "left in tears" following a fitting for her daughter, Princess Charlotte's dress for Meghan's nuptials to Prince Harry.
"Kate had only just given birth to Prince Louis and was feeling quite emotional — though just what upset her is unclear," a source explained to veteran royals reporter Camilla Tominey of The Telegraph, according to People, which confirmed separately that the pre-wedding incident did happen.
The outlet also cited several insiders saying that at the time of Meghan and Harry's wedding in May there was a considerable amount of "stress" for people who were involved.
Last month, Kensington Palace announced that Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, are moving from Kensington Palace in central London to Frogmore Cottage, a house on the grounds of Windsor Estate, early next year, ahead of the anticipated birth of their first child.
"Windsor is a very special place for their royal highnesses and they are grateful that their official residence will be on the estate," the palace said in a statement.
The move means that brothers Prince William, 36, and Prince Harry will no longer be living near each other, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will still keep their office at Kensington Palace, which is also home to the Cambridges.
Huge clue about Kate and Meghan's royal rift we all missed.. Reports of a growing rift between the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex have reached fever pitch in recent days.
There have been countless articles quoting sources who claim Kate Middleton was "in tears" after a tense bridesmaid fitting with her daughter Princess Charlotte, 3, and Meghan Markle earlier this year
Kate was left furious over the way Meghan was talking to her staff, and that Prince Harry had been unhappy with his brother, Prince William, last Christmas for refusing to "roll out the red carpet" for his new fiancee.
Adding weight to the reports was the sudden announcement last week that Harry and Meghan — who are expecting their first child next year — wouldn't be taking up the offer to live in a luxurious apartment next door to William and Kate in Kensington Palace, and would instead move more than 20 miles up the road to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor Castle.
It's a lot to take in — and it's been kind of devastating for royal fans who had been leaning into the idea of this close-knit "Fab Four".
But those clamouring to get to the bottom of this royal feud may have missed the big clue that's been right under our noses all year.
Cast your mind back to the highly-praised first official foursome engagement in February, where the newly-engaged Harry and Meghan joined William and Kate on stage at the Royal Foundation Forum to discuss their ongoing mental health initiative.
Inevitably, questions to the four high-profile royals turned somewhat personal during the chat, with the interviewer asking the group: "Working together as family, do you ever have disagreements about things?"
Here's their reaction:. The women both turn away from each other — Meghan looks at the floor with a sheepish smile, Kate looks at her husband for support, and William takes the reigns and laughs, saying "Ooooh, yeah".
Back then, it seemed to be just a lighthearted family joke. But given that the stories of tension recently leaked from Kensington Palace actually date back to about that time — the moment suddenly seems much more significant.
Although Harry was quick to clarify that they're "healthy" disagreements, he also made a quip about the high volume of clashes, claiming that "they come so thick and fast".
"Is it resolved? We don't know," William joked back.. "Well you're putting on a great show, if not," the interviewer responded (which, if the reports are true, was actually scarily accurate).
Harry then shed further light on his pragmatic attitude toward tensions in the family, admitting that spending so much time together could be challenging.
"I think it's really good that we've got four different personalities, and we've all got that same passion to want to make a difference, but you know … different opinions," he said.
" … Working with family, of course it has its challenges … But look, we're stuck together for the rest of our lives".
As speculation about the growing rift between the Cambridges and Sussexes gained traction this week, Kensington Palace took the extraordinary step of issuing a statement addressing the drama.
Following The Sun's report over the weekend that the Duchess of Cambridge got upset with the former actor over how she spoke to a member of Kate's staff, a Kensington Palace spokesman denied the claim to the British paper.
"This never happened," the spokesman said.. As reported in People, the palace does not usually respond to rumours and did not issue a statement regarding any other reports, including the one that claimed Kate was "left in tears" after Charlotte's bridesmaid dress fitting for Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry.
Thomas Markle Senior is 'seething' over negative reports about Meghan.. Meghan Markle's dad has reportedly blamed "snobs" for a spate of personal attacks on his daughter.
Thomas Markle is said to be "seething with anger" at what he claimed was "relentless criticism every time she says or does anything", reports The Sun.
The Daily Express reports how the protective dad is appalled at the negativity around Meghan who is beginning her married life, official royal duties and becoming a mum for the first time.
A friend of the 74-year-old Mr Markle, who has been estranged from his daughter since her wedding to Prince Harry, said he told him: "How could they be so cruel and heartless?
"It hurts me deeply that one of the sweetest young women anyone could hope to meet is being trashed and bashed at every turn by a British establishment hell-bent on belittling her.
"All this is happening when she's expecting her first child".. As reported, sources claimed the Duchess of Cambridge told Meghan not to berate members of her team at Kensington Palace.
Rumours of a rift between the duchesses swirled after royal sources revealed emotional Kate, 36, ended up weeping over her demands for Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress, it emerged.
Royal aides did not deny the incident had taken place, amid claims that the duchesses are "very different people".
