hi this is Jennifer from Tarle speech with your pronunciation question today's
question is how do I pronounce the word dwell and dwell is a word that we
typically use with the word on so we would say dwell on which means to ponder
or to really think about so to say this word correctly let's look at two parts
in the word this is actually a one syllable word but we're going to break
it down into two parts to make it a little bit easier we're going to start
with the DW this is really confusing to a lot of people so I have a tip think
about saying the W sound (w) which you do by puckering your lips before you start
saying the D so your lips are going to be ready for the W when you say the D
sound by touching the tip of your tongue to the back of your top front teeth dwell
dw dw so it's kind of hard to do without saying the whole word then we're
going to end with the L which is a short e with an L but just think about saying
the letter name L and don't forget touch the tip of your tongue to the back of
your top front teeth at the end of the word for L so that you make that L long
enough and distinct so let's put this all together dwell dwell dwell don't dwell
