Engine Troubles Turn Popular Ford & GM Vehicles Into Ticking Time Bombs - Duration: 6:05.
A series of new class actions are alleging that GM vehicles and vehicles produced by
Ford Motor Company are defective because of a fuel injection pump that both brands of
vehicles are using in some of their diesel vehicles that they knew was incompatible with
United States diesel fuel standards.
Joining me for more on this, to give us a little bit of clarification here is Scott
Hardy from top class actions.
So Scott, right now what we're looking at is we've got certain GM diesel vehicles, certain
Ford diesel vehicles, they all use this, it is a CP4 fuel injection pump that was made
by Bosch.
They used it in Europe.
It was doing great in Europe, and so Ford and GM said, let's bring that to our United
States vehicles, and then all hell broke loose, didn't it?
Right.
It sure did, and it's simply because, as you mentioned, the fuel, the diesel fuel they
use in Europe is not the same due to environmental regulations as they use here in the United
States.
And so the fuel, the diesel fuel they use in Europe is more viscous.
It's more lubricating and so then you have this CP4 pump which is pushing that fuel into
the engine and it doesn't have that same lubrication that we, in the United States as it has in
Europe, which can cause metal shavings to go into the engine.
So we're seeing not only the fuel pump failing, but we're also seeing catastrophic failures
within the engines themselves and so you have people that are having problems in their trucks
that could cost upwards of 50, 60, $75,000, if you go ahead and load up a fully diesel
truck.
Then these trucks are failing and it could cost $5,000, $10,000, even $20,000 to get
that vehicle back on the road and working.
And so you also have owners that are complaining about this fact that can't even sell their
trucks even though they're still working because people know as the class action states that
GM and Ford put what could be caused and alleged ticking time bomb within these trucks themselves
rather than actually fix the problem.
Right, a lot of these people who are trying to sell their vehicles, even if they still
work, they don't know if there's been the corrosion that you talked about, the metal
shavings from the parts rubbing together.
That could be just lurking in the engine.
It could be building up in any nook or cranny inside of the internal components there, so
without a way to really just take the entire engine apart and clean out what's in there
or even at least see if it's there, these people have no clue whether or not their vehicle
is going to just completely shut down or you know, turn off or go out of control while
going down the interstate or even going down the street with children playing on side of
the road.
They don't know, but the thing here is that Ford knew.
GM knew.
They knew exactly what would happen with the CP4 fuel injector pumps but still said, you
know what, let's give it a shot here in the United States.
I mean, that's pretty much what's happened here, isn't it?
Exactly.
I mean, Ford is selling more than a thousand trucks a day.
More than a thousand trucks a day, just, you know, pushing these cars out there and you've
got these, these models going back to 2011.
So this has been ongoing for years and years and Ford and GM have still not addressed it,
still not swapped out the pump.
You know, if we look at the cars that are included, the trucks that are included and
the Ford, it actually goes up to 2018.
And so we're thinking that we know from 2011, 2018, they're still using the same problematic
fuel pump in the US for these diesel trucks.
People are still buying them right now.
That is a huge problem and it's an expensive problem because you can't, as you said, you
can't just go ahead and take apart your engine and see if you're experiencing it.
You can't just peek into your fuel injector pump to see if there's a problem.
You're not going to know until your engine quits, until you have problems, and then all
of a sudden you're stuck with a huge mechanical bill and diesel engines are supposed to be
super reliable.
You're supposed to be able to truck through those diesel engines for hundreds of thousands
of miles.
But according to these class actions, these diesel engines won't last that long and will
be very expensive to fix.
When as you, exactly as you said, GM and Ford were both aware that there would be problems
using that fuel pump in America.
And as usual, you know, these automobile companies, they typically will put profits over safety,
profits over reliability, but every time, and I mean that every single time it comes
back to bite them because lawyers in this country will stand up for the victims every
time and they're always going to make sure that these companies pay up and take care
of the people whose products have been destroyed, whose lives have been destroyed.
And that is what is so important about the trial lawyers here in the United States.
And it's what's so important about what you guys do over at top class actions.

it's time for round five of the bank battle of the boxes for nickels
Hey everybody its Rob with Rob finds treasure we have another Bank box battle
series this is round five for the nickel battle I'm pretty excited about this
I've checked them for Enders we do have an ender and it's right here inside the
Wells Fargo it's a confirmed I'll pull it out real
quick so you guys can see it but it's most definitely definitely a war nickel
you can't see the date just yet but I believe the bottom and it looks like
it's gonna be a 1943 I kind of took a peek see it could be a 45 but I think
that's a 43 so hopefully it's a 40 3d well save that box for last though
because it's got guaranteed silver in it we're gonna kick it off a chase move to
B of A and go to Wells Fargo last now Wells Fargo needs some help because it
is third place with 26 points a box chase is actually leaving the way @ 31.4
the Bank of America had such a nice box last time and made up some ground and
it's at 28 three like I said I checked for Enders all I can do on this one is
just kind of just peek in I don't see anything we're gonna get right into this
hunt and as always I'll loop you in when I find something worth showing well
number five we've already found in 1954 D and check this guy out right here
that's a 1938 can it have a D or an S MIT mark let's take a look it's a 1938 D
wow that's a great coin it's one of the key dates right there it's not in the
greatest condition obviously but I'm not picky I'll take key dates in any
condition 1938 D in the fifth roll the Box roll 10 to the chase bank box we're
gonna have our first 40s nickel 18:41 Denver as well roll 13 we've got a
1946 Philadelphia rule 14 got a 1941 out he saw the front Denver rule 18 another
forties nickel a 46 Denver roll 22 we have got ourselves a 1949 does it emit
mark it does it's a 49 d so that's kind of a semi key date let's see if it has
the era variety that's the 49 d / s
no I don't think so we'll get a closer look at it and see if we see anything up
really close hmm interesting for sure I've looked at it under the loop it's
just some damage at the deep it's not the 40 90 over s but still not a bad
find roll 31 gonna have another 40s nickel here 1947 Denver won over 41 and
we're gonna have another 40s nickel this one's in 1940 Philadelphia we're on a
roll 42 guys and I just uncovered something that could be ridiculous
that's a 1950 not only is it a key date I've only ever found one 1950 D and a
handful of 1950 Peas I'm hoping this has a mint mark on it and I'm hoping it's
from Denver wow it looks pretty good too oh my goodness look at this 1950 D 1950
D
it's got some pretty good scratches but you know what yeah see the gouges right
there above the word sense that's gonna keep it from being mint state from in my
opinion but other than that it's pretty clean on the back Wow
let me get my red book out and show you how special in nineteen fifty D really
is so in nineteen fifty D they only made two point six three million ms sixty is
14 bucks sixty three is 1625 for MS sixty five again I'm gonna go out on a
limb and say this is more like a you fifty-five but either way it's at least
worth ten or so bucks it's pretty clean besides a few gouges yeah that's gonna
go either in my book if it upgrades the one in there or it's going in a two by
two holy cow a 1950 denver in the box roll number 47 got another 40s nickel
here 1941 philadelphia roll number 49 and we've got another 40s nickel a 1941
1941 philadelphia I'm only showing this guys cuz it's a 2009 and it's my first
of the Box rule 49 I thought I was gonna have actually a nickel box where I
didn't find one but we did where he finished that chase nickel box guys and
even though it doesn't have a ton of fines we got two key dates we got a 38
Denver we got a 1950 Denver and look at the
coins it's the best-looking coin out there unbelievable
we also got a 52 s and I just pulled in the last roll of 52 DS which is one of
the semi keys so we got two key dates two semi key dates nine from the 50s
nine from the 40s a 38 and a 2009 Wow
alright first box is down thanks very much chase you did me proud
now let's move on to Bank of America and see if they get have another great box
like last time these nickel boxes might be great guys
very first of all the fake America box and I've got another semi key here a
1951 D only 20 million made wow that's a bangin start as well and we've already
put that bad boy in the 2x2 hole number for gonna have a 40s nickel
here 1946 Philadelphia roll number 8 a 1948 roll 17
check it out didn't get it by the edges but we've got a 44 war nickel what mint
philadelphia can't believe it found some silver first on the box we're early on
could be more we roll 27 guys and look what I just found that is an a you or
even ms 1939 this thing is nice will it have a mint
mark can it be another key date it's not but wow there's no full steps but it's a
beautiful coin nonetheless same role 1948 d roll 32 it's got a warrant slick
1940 SL the date when it film roll 34 and check out this for and cent or four
in coin I should say is it old no not really
1991 have Etica we're really cool though for and find world number 38 now we've
got another four coin here unbelievable this was from
Bermuda and it's got the fish on the back I found that before as well to
foreigns in one nickel box crazy hole number 40 guys in this think of America
box just keeps producing just grab the first coin pulled it down as a second
one fell look what I see behind it we've got a buffalo is there a mint mark under
the five cents there is not is there date there is 1936 Buffalo Wow we've got
a silver and a Buffalo anti-semite key date if we got a proof we would have the
trifecta here same roll got a 1949 is it a deep it is not well take it though
rule 48 guys and we're gonna have our second 1913 out of the box
can this one have a mint mark on it it doesn't and compared to the other 39
it's a far cry although it's still a pretty nice 39 well the boxes keep
getting better because this Bank of America box definitely beat that chase
box guys we got 11 from the 50s including pretty semi key 51 D we got
six from the 40s including a 44 Philadelphia mint for nickel we got two
in the 30s both 39 Peas but one is absolutely stunning we got a 36 p
buffalo nickel 2 4 inch and 6 mm 9s holy cow that's a lot of fines don't get me
wrong I love finding a 50 be my second ever but this box on the point scale
will probably edge it out or or beat it since I got so many finds that being
said can Bank of America win its second round of the bank battle box series
or as Wells Fargo look at silver war nickels ender have something to say
about it well number five at the Wells Fargo box
can look at this another 39 we've got a lot of possible good old Jeffersons
today is there a mint mark on this 39 there is not it is tough to find a 39 d
or a 39 s for sure but a 30 s nickel on the board and a no.9 rule number 17
gonna have a 40s nickel here and it's a 1949 again
is there a D there is a D so I need to check it for the D over s it's not that
the over S but it's still 40s nickel roll number 19 gonna have a 40s nickel
here 1941 the dollfie hit we're on rule 26 of the box and this is
that silver wartime nickel ender believe it's a 43 let me get it out of the roll
and see what it is it's definitely a 43 and you would have noticed this by the
edge all day hopefully it's a 43 d 15 million minted
let's see nope it's just a 43s had it been the 43 P we could have checked for
the three over the two over date we could have checked for the doubled III
but it's the one that has no varieties known so we'll still take it it is
silver it was in the box roll number 28 I'm gonna have a 1948
Philadelphia just laid out rule 47 and I think I spy a Canadian nickel 1982 first
four nickel of the box well we finished hunting the Wells Fargo nickel box and
it was definitely the lightest of all the boxes we found in 1939 Philadelphia
which is good we got one two three four nickels in total one is a 1943 s silver
nickel I'll take that for sure we did find one
three four five from the 50s ones a fifty one but it's not the D it's just
the Philadelphia Mint on top of that we did find four more Oh nines and a porn
and I've got three pretty nice coins I want to check against my album just to
make sure I don't know if they upgrade but I always check on one time before I
discard them I have a feeling that the Bank of America box won it with Chase
coming in second and Wells Fargo coming in third of course to be official we got
to plug it into the statute all right everyone we've got the final scores into
the sheet and it kind of fell an order here
Wells Fargo held up the tail with 22 points better than its last box but just
not enough of the 50s and 40s to score big did get a war nickel though so I
can't get too mad at it Chase Bank did pretty good as well ty this last box and
31 points so not too bad and it didn't find us that 1950 d bo Bay has now won
back-to-back boxes with another solid 42 and a half point box ridiculous so now
it is actually on the heels of chase halfway through the hunt of the 10 box
hon I'm doing on this series out of the five boxes it's at 31 3 for chase 31 1
for B of A and Wells Fargo's got its work cut out for it at 25 - hopefully

6 Fluency Recording - Duration: 11:22.
Mom said there are three things I should always remember. Fluency is the ability
to read with appropriate speed, accuracy, phrasing, and expression. Good readers
read of the same speed at which they speak. They correctly identify and
pronounce the words they read. Good readers chunk words into meaningful
phrases and use intonation and expression when they read out loud.
Fluent reading is necessary for comprehension. Guided, repeated, oral
reading helps improve fluency. You'll see a learner and a tutor practice the
strategy in five different ways. Reading to the tutor. Duet reading. Echo reading.
Cross-generational reading. Recorded reading.
You'll now watch a learner and a tutor using the guided, repeated, oral reading
strategies of duet reading in which the tutor and the learner read the text
together out loud, and recorded reading in which a passage is recorded by the
tutor and learner to demonstrate how direct explicit fluency instruction can
approve a learner's reading speed accuracy phrasing and expression. They
talk about each strategy's specific purpose and evaluate which is the most
effective in helping the learner reach her goal to read fluently and with
confidence in front of a group. T hey also demonstrate how recorded reading can
document a learners progress in becoming a more fluent reader in a relatively
short time. So remember when we were practicing the guided oral repeated
reading where the repeating helps you with your speed, your accuracy, and your
expression and phrasing. Super important when you have to read in public right.
For that particular purpose I really want to show you a technique where we
can use the recording to show you how much it works. So I found this app on my
phone and it's free. So I downloaded it and we thought we'd try it so I could
record you reading it through the first time. Then we'll practice the duet
reading for speed and it'll help with accuracy and phrasing too. But it's
primarily gonna show you how much your fluency increases in speed. And then we'll
when you're practicing a few times with me then we'll have you read it again and
I'll record it the last time so you can really listen to the difference. Okay
that sound good? So show me the passages you have picked out so for practicing
with the recorder. Is it okay if we just go to the first this paragraph here? Is
that about the about that you're gonna read the amount that you gonna read? I was gonna read the
whole thing but okay. Okay. Okay well this is perfect because we'll I'll show you
how this works and then we'll find the app a similar recording app for your
phone okay and you can do it at home. I'll show you how to use the technique
at home. Okay so we're gonna start by reading it
together up here right. And the title is How it Works.

too who suffer from grave emotional disorders. But many of them do recover if they have the capacity to be honest. Okay that's not an easy passage.
No. There's hard words in there. You're doing great.
So do you feel like you're ready to try it again and see if we picked up any
speed or if your fluency sounds better overall? Okay. Okay so this time you just
tell me when you're ready to start so I can start the recording. - Okay. Ready. How
it Works. Rarely have we seen a person fail who

or will not completely give themselves to this self approach program. There are
those too who suffer from a grave emotional and mental disorder. But many
of them do recover if they have the capacity to be honest honest. How did
that feel the last time? Better. Better than the first time and better than the
times with me? Yeah. Okay so do you think this is a worthwhile practice? Yeah Okay.
This was one of my goals when I came here when I first started it was to
be able to read this because I wouldn't read it. I have to be ugly when they asked
me to read. Yeah so how proud are you of yourself are you that you can... yeah
Very, very. Yeah. Yeah. So these techniques though could take to the whole nother
level. So you just increased your speed. Your
first recording was one minute and three seconds. Yeah it was a minute and four
seconds the first one. So let's play that one see how that sounds. With
themselves there are such unfortunate they are not at fault. They seem to have
been born that way. They have the capacity to be honest. You did a great job. Okay so now I want to listen to the last
one you did that was fifty seven.
Thoroughly followed our path. Those who do not recover are people who cannot or will
not completely give themselves to this simple program. But many of them do recover if they have the capacity to be honest. Wow. More confident seem
like. Yeah yeah and faster just smooth you know the fluency is the the fluid
smooth transition from one word to the next, one sentence to the next, one phrase
to the next. So that particular technique was really focusing on speed and we saw
that that works and the recording thing would be a great tool for you to use
when you want to practice independently. And you know you have something specific
that you want to use. Now different passages might even require a couple of
different techniques so for instance we could practice like we just did, doing the
the duet for speed. Or you could practice re-listening to yourself recording it,
practicing it three times, recording it again if you were doing it alone. But
then you could come in and do reading to me to work on accuracy it's on the same
passage. So we could hit it from a couple different angles depending on what you
want to achieve. You know so if it's something you want to read to your
granddaughter maybe we just work on phrasing and expression and then you
read it to me for accuracy. Or you know there's different ways we can use these
combinations of techniques together. Okay. All right. So you feel good that you
could really hear the difference? Very much did you can hear yourself. Yeah. Yeah. Were you surprised how you sounded? I did.
Do you think if we found an app for your phone that you would use it at home? Yes Yes okay let's do that next time. Okay. All
right. All right. It's important for you and your learner to know that you're
making progress towards her reading goals. Recorded reading is an excellent
way to demonstrate improvement and document progress in your learners
reading fluency. Seeing progress can motivate you both by showing you that
your time together is making a difference. You've seen a tutor do quite
a bit of talking when explaining a new strategy. During most lessons you and
your learner would be equally talkative.

SNICKERDOODLE COOKIE RECIPE! A REALLY RETRO HOLIDAY - Duration: 8:52.
Hi everyone, welcome back to the kitchen and returning to a really retro holiday. We are going to mix up some
old-fashioned goodness
snickerdoodle cookies
Christmas and snickerdoodles go together like you know what and I can't wait to share with you how these all come together
All right, we're gonna go over the ingredients for our really delicious snickerdoodle cookies
I mean Christmas and snickerdoodles, they go together like Forrest and Jenny am I wrong? I don't think so
So what you're gonna need to start off is two and a half cups of all-purpose flour one and a half cups of granulated sugar
and you're gonna need one stick or half a cup of butter softened 1/2 a cup of
Vegetable shortening solid vegetable shortening, but don't use lard and don't double the butter and leave out the shortening
The shortening is key here to getting a crispy crackly outside and a soft chewy inside on your snickerdoodle
You're gonna need 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar. This is non-negotiable
This also contributes to the texture of the cookie as well as the flavor
You're also going to need a teaspoon of baking soda and a half a teaspoon of salt
I've used kosher salt here
If you use fine salt, you're gonna want to use even less a tablespoon of vanilla. Extract 2 eggs
And then we're gonna roll this in a combination of cinnamon sugar
So I have a quarter of a cup of granulated sugar and a tablespoon of ground cinnamon
We're gonna mix that up and we're gonna set it aside
The first thing that has to happen is we're just gonna go ahead and dump those right in there and we'll just mix those up
Okay today. I'm gonna be using a hand mixer and just a regular Bowl
Because I know a lot of you might not have a big
Mixer and you don't need a big mixer. So the first thing you want to do is
Beat your shortening and your butter together until they are light and fluffy
Our butter and our shortening are nice and fluffy and well blended
But I want to get my dry ingredients mixed together first
so I'm just gonna go ahead and combine my flour my baking soda salt and cream of tartar and
since I already have it in a mason jar, I'm just gonna go ahead and give this a good shake and
That should be good. And then I'm gonna go ahead and add my sugar in with my butter and shortening mixture and we're going to
Cream this together until it's light and fluffy and a pale yellow color
All right now our sugar and butter and shortening is well cream we're going to go ahead and add the eggs one at a time
And we're going to stop and wait until each one is well incorporated before adding the second
Now add your vanilla extract and blend well and
Now just take a rubber spatula and give this a good turn now
You're gonna go ahead and add your dry ingredients all at one time
You're gonna blend this on low until you have a nice thick batter
After you get done with the mixer go ahead and come in here with your spatula and just dig deep
Make sure there are no pockets of dry ingredients and kind of give everything one little mush together now you're ready to scoop
I'm gonna go ahead and scoop all of my dough at one time and put it on a baking sheet
Then we're gonna move on to rolling and baking so I'll be back after these are all scooped up
All right, I went ahead and I got all of my dough scooped at one time
I find this to be really helpful because if you're busy
Especially when it's Christmas cookie baking time. Go ahead and scoop all your dough at one time. You can see I've gotten
35 approximately 42
cookies out of this batch of dough
now I have used a scoop that is approximately two tablespoons large and I do like to have a
Just a container of warm water to swirl my scoop in
While I scoop you don't have to do it every single time
You don't have to like dip it and scoop and dip it in scoop every few times. Go ahead
It's gonna help you release that dough a lot more easily and then all you have to do
before you bake these oh, I was gonna say
at this point
You can either just have these
resting on the side
Waiting to be baked
Or you can freeze them. But today I'm gonna be baking these off if you want to just freeze these
Until they're solid then you can pop them in a ziploc bag and then you can bake them off as desired
Because there's nothing better than a fresh cookie
I'm gonna bake these eight to a tray because they do spread quite a bit
Lay them on your baking sheet
I have my oven preheated to
350 degrees and these cookies are going to bake in my oven for exactly 12 minutes in your oven
It might be different. So I'm gonna suggest you do what I did the first time I made these
Was I set my timer for eight minutes and I checked him at eight minutes
They were still too blonde and they were too soft in the center and they were not brown at all around the edges now
It's a little trickier because these have cinnamon on them
So checking to see if they're done perfectly can be a little bit confusing. So
Check them at eight minutes. And then if your oven is not exactly perfect like mine check them at ten minutes and
Then if they need an extra couple minutes to leave them on in there
All right. These are ready to go in the oven 350 degrees for 12 minutes in my oven
Make sure that you monitor yours the first time you make them so they come out perfect
I'll show you what these look like when they're all ready to be eaten
We baked our snickerdoodles for 12 minutes
And then I remove the pan from the oven and allow the cookies to remain on the pan until the next pan was done
So 10 12 minutes leave them on the pan
Then you take them and put them on a cooling rack and let them cool completely and you're gonna put them in an airtight
Container and they're going to keep well for up to two weeks if they last that long now
I went ahead and only baked off three pans. I put the rest of the cookie dough balls in the freezer and
These will be ready for me to bake off whenever
I want to

How to Add a Test Program to a Computrac MAX 4000XL or MAX 4000 - Duration: 9:40.
After calibrating and running the weight test on your Computrac MAX 4000XL or MAX 4000,
you're now ready to add programs and run a test.
The MAX 4000XL can hold up to 250 test programs,
5 of which are factory programs,
and the MAX 4000 can hold up to 10,
4 of which are factory programs.
Factory programs cannot be edited or removed.
There are 3 ways in which test programs can be added to the instrument:
they can be manually programmed on the instrument,
they can be uploaded via USB flashdrive,
or they can be uploaded through the optional web server.
Please note that the web server is only available on the MAX 4000XL, not the MAX 4000.
When inputting a program, you will need to know what settings to use.
Settings can be obtained by contacting your AMETEK Arizona Instrument or your local representative.
AMETEK Arizona Instrument has an extensive database of parameters
that cover a wide variety of samples.
If parameters do not already exist for your material, samples can be sent to our test
lab in order to facilitate the development of a custom test program.
Sample testing and parameter development are
offered as free services for all Computrac owners.
To manually add a test program, press the MENU button.
The first item on the MAIN MENU u is TEST PROGRAMS.
Press ENTER (ENT) to enter the TEST PROGRAM EDIT screen.
Use the directional keypad to navigate through the program list.
The up and down arrows will move the cursor one line at a time.
The right and left arrows will move the cursor
one page, or 10 lines, at a time.
Move the cursor over a current test program and click either the
INSERT ABOVE or the INSERT BELOW button.
Note that rather than starting from scratch, you can copy an existing program by selecting
it and pressing the COPY button, then pressing the insert above or below button
to paste the copy into the list.
Use the directional keys to highlight the new or copied program and press enter (ENT)
to begin editing the program.
There are 8 sets of test parameters for each test program.
To edit the sample name, press enter when SAMPLE NAME is highlighted.
Use the arrow keys to navigate to the SAMPLE NAME field and press enter to begin editing.
Type in the sample name by using the number keys.
To insert a space, press the number ONE twice.
You can use a product name or number
-- anything that will help you identify the test in the program list.
Press enter to save the PROGRAM NAME, then press ESCAPE (ESC) to return to the previous menu.
The next parameter is TEMPERATURES.
Select TEMPERATURES and press enter to begin
editing the temperature settings of your new test program.
The most common fields that you may need to edit are TEST TEMPERATURE, HISTART TEST TEMP
and IDLE TEMPERATURE.
Use the arrow keys to select the field, or fields, you wish to edit
and the number keys to enter information.
Press enter to save each field.
Unless otherwise instructed, leave TEMP RATE and START TEMPERATURE CONTROL at 0*C and OFF.
When you are done editing, press ESCAPE to return to the previous menu.
Next, select ENDING CRITERIA and press enter to begin editing.
Options for ending criteria on the MAX 4000XL include: prediction, rate, time, time or rate,
temperature then prediction, temperature then rate, temperature then time or rate,
and time then rate.
The MAX 4000 only allows for ending criteria of prediction or rate.
Select the appropriate option and enter the parameter information in the second field.
Next up are the SAMPLE SIZE OPTIONS.
Enter the SAMPLE SIZE and SAMPLE WINDOW parameters.
Select sound options for the INSIDE and OUTSIDE LIMITS to allow the instrument to notify users
when the correct amount of a sample has been added to the pan.
When you are done saving any changes, press escape to return to the previous screen.
Next on the list is TARE OPTIONS.
Unless otherwise instructed, leave PAN TARE and SAMPLE TARE set to Standard
and SPECIAL TARE set to Normal.
Save any changes and return to the previous screen.
The next parameter to edit is the RESULT DISPLAY OPTIONS.
For most tests, the PRIMARY RESULT will be set to % Moisture.
Other options are % Solids and % Dry Weight.
Set DECIMAL DIGITS to the number of decimal places you want the instrument to display
after the decimal point.
The MAX 4000XL can be set from one to five, while the MAX 4000 is fixed at two decimal places.
The MAX 4000XL can also use a custom equation for the PRIMARY RESULT
and has an option to add a SECONDARY RESULT.

The final field on the result display options screen is the PASS/FAIL option.
When enabled, the PRIMARY RESULT is compared to the HIGH and LOW LIMITS.
If the result is within the limits, the screen will turn green.
If it falls outside those limits, it will turn red.
The TEST RESULTS list also indicates PASS or FAIL
by using Green or Red text for the result.
To use the PASS/FAIL feature, toggle it ON by using the arrow keys
and pressing enter to save it in the ON position.
Enter HIGH and LOW LIMITS, making sure to enter the HIGH LIMIT first.
If you do not wish to use this feature, simply leave the PASS/FAIL option marked OFF
and press escape to return to the previous menu.
Next is LIFT COMPENSATION.
Leave the LIFT COMPENSATION at 100% unless otherwise instructed.
The CURRENT LIFT field is not editable and adjusts itself automatically.
When finished editing, press escape to return to the main menu.
The final parameter is LINKED TEST OPTIONS.
Since this is only available on MAX 4000XLs, MAX 4000 users can skip this step.
Linked test options are used when testing certain materials, such as gypsum, which contain
moisture in more than one molecular state.
By linking tests with different parameters, all of the moisture can be released and measured
in its various forms without separate tests.
Leave this set to NO unless otherwise instructed.
If you have a sample that you would like to test using the linked test feature, contact
AMETEK Arizona Instrument or your local representative for assistance.
Now that all of your parameters are set and saved,
press escape until you return to the home screen.
You have now added a new program to your Computrac MAX 4000XL or MAX 4000
and can find it in the program list by pressing PROGRAM.
With your program in place, you are ready to run a test.
