-The holidays are here, and one of my writers
wanted to come out and sing a festive song.
And since we had some time to fill in the show,
we said, "What the hell?" And let him do it.
So, please welcome Ian, everybody.
[ Cheers and applause ]
-Thanks for having me, Seth.
-You got it, buddy.
-Well, I don't know about you,
but nothing puts me in the holiday spirit like curling up
on my couch and watching "Great British Baking Show" on Netflix.
It's just so cozy.
-Okay. [ Laughter ]
-So in honor of this cherished holiday pastime,
I thought I'd sing a little song in tribute
to my favorite person on the show.
-Who's that?
-Beloved baker, author,
and "Great British Baking Show" judge Mary Berry.
There she is. [ Cheers and applause ]
All right. Hit it, gang.

-What? This is going amazing.
-Yeah, I know, it definitely is,
but Mary Berry is not on that show anymore.
-What do you mean she's not on the show anymore?
Mary Berry is the show.
-Yeah, she hasn't been on the show in, like, two seasons.
Don't you watch it?
-I'm only on season 4.
I'm slowly savoring it.
This doesn't make any sense.
How could she not be on it? Did she retire?
-No.
-Oh, my God. Is she dead?
-No!
No, she's not d-- She just didn't renew her contract.
-Well, what does Paul Hollywood have to say about that?
I mean, he must be livid.
-No, he's fine with it. He's still on the show.

He always wanted all the glory for himself.
-No, actually they just placed her with another old lady.
-Another old lady?
Please don't tell me it's Prue Leith.
-It's Prue Leith.

-Wow, wow.
This is a lot.
How am I supposed to finish the song now?
-Oh, I think you should not finish the song.
[ Laughter ]
-No, Mary would want me to finish the song.
-I don't think Mary Berry would want any of this.
[ Laughter ]
-You're wrong, Seth.
You're dead wrong.
And even though my heart is broken,
I have to finish this song.
