Hi! In this video I will show how to do a very tall long strip and I will
focus especially on the top and bottom border
Before we get started I will show you something, I made a mistake here.
so if you thought I would never make a mistake, so you see now, I made a mistake.
But okay, it was just for practicing and see how things worked, I didn't bother much
about it, but why this video? I was working on two
panels and here I show a bit, I will put a link down with the description where
you can purchase this pattern, and it's 2 panels and
you can use it for a pillow cover but I must say
I do have enough pillows, so I thought, well, I would rather like to make a bag of it
and then I needed a large handle and I also wanted it to go
around these panels, so I would need a very long strip, and well, of course

Okay, before we start with the setup, I also want to
show you something that I'm working on. This is a very large

stitches that I had to set up, but to my surprise it worked very nice

this base for 5 repeats of the pattern,

12t stitches per the number of repeats, I choosed to do 5 repeats
here I've worked out some examples
so you see here I have to do 12 times 5 plus 3 is 63 stitches for color 1
and 5 repeats, 12 times 5 plus 1
is 61 stitches for color 2, and I have done this here
and well I marked..
here I already removed the stitchmarkers because I also used it for my
Dutch video, but I marked my stitches 20, 40 and 60,
and well, that was just for counting, and here for color 2 I also marked stitch 20 , 40
and I also added a marker here in the back of stitch
59, but it's 61 stitches
in total. So let's get started and then the
directions say color 2 to the back, and then make a
side stitch, and do back 6 times the number of repeats
so it's 30 times to the back and then again a side stitch
but first I will show you, I don't know if you have seen the video of the
christmas table runners, and there I show you how to do the side stitch by making
2 single crochets onn top of each other so I will do that here too,
so you don't make a turning chain, you start working right away in that
first stitch and you make a single crochet and then you will make your second
single crochet into that side loop here,
and then I mark these 2
legs of the V-shape, and I also explain in that video
why I do that, and then I make my chain stitch and then
this is the spot where I have to do my next double crochet. You know that I
like to mark that because the first one is important that you do that correctly and then
further on it will just come automatically, so well,
the directions say that we have to put color 2 on the back,
so we will put this chain on the back
and then we... so we did our side stitch, and then we have to do our next double
crochet at the back of the work
and it's back all of the time so we have to work like this and
insert here, well, I will take that out
so this is the place where we make our first double crochet
and now we can put this chain, well, just leave it hanging there.
and well, we can continue like this till the end, and I will show you
you see, because when you lay this here
you can see that all these double crochets will get on the
back of that color 2 chain so I will continue till the end of the row,
and then I will get back to you.
I've come to the end of my row and
what I also did, I marked the middle square of this entire row and
you can see here in the pattern that it is mirrored in the middle
and well marking it now will just help you with the other
rows and now we will get to color 2.
We will do now color a and this time we will work into the back of our chain.
In the balnket with the startup we just worked into these loops here
but now we will work in these bumps here on the back which
