Moore's Law Is Ending... So, What's Next? - Duration: 4:21.
Remember when cellphones looked like this?
You could call, text, maybe play snake on it … and it had about 6 megabytes of memory,
which was a small miracle at the time.
Then, phones got faster and around every two years, you probably upgraded your phone from
8 gigs to 16 to 32 and so on and so forth.
This incremental technological progress we've all been participating in for years hinges
on one key trend, called Moore's Law.
Co-founder of Intel, Gordon Moore made a prediction in 1965 that integrated circuits, or chips,
were the path to cheaper electronics.
Moore's law states that the number of transistors, the tiny switches that control the flow of
an electrical current that can fit in an integrated circuit, will double every two years, while
the cost will halve.
Chip power goes up as cost goes down.
That exponential growth has brought massive advances in computing power… hence tiny
computers in our pockets!
A single chip today can contain billions of transistors, and each transistor is about
14 nanometres across!
That's smaller than most human viruses!
Now, Moore's law isn't a law of physics, it's just a good hunch that's driven companies
to make better chips.
But experts are claiming that this trend is slowing down.
Granddaddy chip maker Intel recently disclosed that it's becoming more difficult to roll
out smaller transistors in a two year timeframe while also being affordable.
So, to power the next wave of electronics, there are a few promising options in the works.
One is quantum computing.
Another currently in the lab stage is neuromorphic computing, which are computer chips that are
modeled after our own brains!
They're basically capable of learning and remembering all at the same time at an incredibly
fast clip.
Let's break that down and start with the human brain.
So, your brain has billions of neurons, each of which forms synapses or connections with
other neurons.
Synaptic activity relies on ion channels, which control the flow of charged atoms like
sodium and calcium that make your brain function and process properly.
So, a neuromorphic chip copies that model by relying on a densely connected web of transistors
that mimic the activity of ion channels.
Each chip has a network of cores, with inputs and outputs that are wired to additional cores,
which all operate in conjunction with each other.
Because of this connectivity, neuromorphic chips are able to integrate memory, computation,
and communication all together.
These chips are an entirely new computational design.
Standard chips today are built based on von Neumann architecture... where the processor
and memory are separate and the data moves between them.
A central processing unit runs commands that are fetched from memory to execute tasks.
This is what's made computers very good at computing, but not as efficiently as they
could be.
Neuromorphic chips however completely change that model by having both storage and processing
connected within these "neurons" that are all communicating and learning together.
The hope is that these neuromorphic chips could transform computers from general purpose
calculators into machines that can learn from experience and make decisions.
We'd leap to a future where computers wouldn't just be able to crunch data at break neck
speeds but could do that AND process sensory data in real time.
Some future applications of neuromorphic chips might include combat robots that could decide
how to act in the field, drones that could detect changes in the environment, and your
car taking you to a drive through for ice cream after being dumped… basically these
chips could power our future robot overlords.
We don't have machines with sophisticated, brain-like chips yet but they're on the
horizon.
So get ready for a whole new meaning for the term "brain power."
But we have something less frightening than AI to share with you... did you know we have
a sister channel called Seeker VR?
It's everything you love about Seeker, but in 360 degrees!
SeekerVR will take you on some incredible journeys that you probably wouldn't get
to experience otherwise.
Like in a recent episode, we took a ride on one of the most deadly trains in the world.
Check it out here.

Weekend House Call: Male Nutrition - Duration: 2:28.
US WHAT WE NEED
TO EAT DIFFERENTLY AS WELL.
DR. HEBERT: IT DOESN'T TAKE A
SCIENTIFIC STUDY TO PROVE THAT
MEN AND WOMEN ARE DIFFERENT IN A
LOT OF WAYS, BUT IT MAY REQUIRE
A LITTLE RESEARCH TO KNOW
EXACTLY WHAT THOSE DIFFERENCES
MEAN IN TERMS OF WHAT YOU NEED
TO BE EATING.
MEN ARE GENERALLY LARGER AND
HAVE MORE MUSCLE MASS THAN
WOMEN, SO THEIR DAILY NUTRITION
REQUIREMENTS ARE GREATER.
IT REALLY -- IT'S REALLY THAT
SIMPLE.
MEN NEED TO EAT MORE CALORIES
THAN WOMEN.
THE EXACT NUMBER THAT'S BEST FOR
YOU DEPENDS ON YOUR LEAN BODY
MASS AND DAILY ACTIVITIES.
IN ONE DAY, MEN NEED ABOUT 14
CALORIES FOR EVERY POUND OF LEAN
BODY MASS.
LEAN BODY MASS REFERS TO
EVERYTHING IN YOUR BODY THAT'S
NOT FAT.
THE TYPICAL 180-POUND MAN WHO
HAS 17% BODY FAT WOULD HAVE 150
POUNDS OF LEAN MUSCLE AND NEED
2,100 CALORIES PER DAY AT REST.
ON DAYS THAT YOU EXERCISE, YOU
MIGHT ADD 300 TO 500 CALORIES,
BRINGING THE TOTAL UP TO ABOUT
2,500.
SECOND, A MAN'S PROTEIN NEEDS
MAY BE GREATER THAN A WOMAN'S,
ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE ACTIVE AND
TRYING TO BUILD MUSCLE MASS.
ROUGHLY, MEN SHOULD EAT ONE GRAM
OF PROTEIN PER 2.2 POUNDS OF
BODY WEIGHT.
SO, THAT SAME 180-POUND GUY
EATING 2,100 CALORIES PER DAY
SHOULD GET ABOUT 82 GRAMS OF
PROTEIN IN HIS DIET EACH DAY,
WHICH ISN'T ALWAYS EASY.
HIGH-PROTEIN SNACKS SUCH AS
HALF-CUP COTTAGE CHEESE AND
FRUIT, A CAN OF TUNA, ONE
TABLESPOON OF PEANUT BUTTER, OR
EVEN BEEF JERKY CAN HELP YOU
MEET YOUR DAILY NEEDS WHEN YOU
DON'T HAVE TIME TO COOK.
BUT IF YOU'RE GOING TO SNACK ON
BEEF JERKY, TRY TO STICK TO
VERSIONS FROM THE HEALTH FOOD
STORE, BECAUSE CONVENIENCE-STORE
BRANDS ARE OFTEN HIGH IN SALT.
FINALLY, MEN NEED TO REINTRODUCE
THEMSELVES TO CALCIUM, AND STOP
THINKING OF OSTEOPOROSIS AS A
WOMAN'S DISEASE.
RESEARCH SHOWS THAT
APPROXIMATELY 20% OF
OSTEOPOROSIS-RELATED FRACTURES
OCCUR IN MEN.
BUT BE CAREFUL NOT TO TAKE IN
TOO MUCH CALCIUM. STUDIES HAVE
LINKED HIGH LEVELS OF CALCIUM IN
MEN TO INCREASED RISK OF
PROSTATE CANCER.
IT NEVER ENDS.
THE RECOMMENDED AMOUNT IS 800 MG
OF CALCIUM PER DAY, WHICH YOU
CAN EASILY GET FROM THREE
SERVINGS OF LOW-FAT OR FAT-FREE
DAIRY, SUCH AS MILK, YOGURT, AND
CHEESE, OR FROM NON-DAIRY
SOURCES INCLUDING, KALE,
BROCCOLI, SALMON, SPINACH, OR
WHOLE-WHEAT BREAD.
SO GUYS, NOW THAT YOU KNOW
BETTER, YOU GOT TO DO BETTER.

10.
Karni Mata Temple, Bikaner, India
In stark contrast with this temple's ornate marble floors and shrines decorated with gold
and silver, there are over 20,000 scabby brown rats which leapfrog over one another on the
ground, run along ledges and cram themselves into holes in the walls.
Caretakers put out food for them, believing they are reincarnations of followers of Karni
Mata, the rat goddess.
Rare white rodents are considered to be manifestations of the goddess herself.
The sweet vegetarian food and proximity to each other make the rats prone to diseases
such as diabetes and stomach disorders, although they have never infected a human being in
the temple.
Barefooted tourists walk gingerly, trying to avoid the excrement and urine, although
regularly cleaned up.
Local pilgrims share their food with the rodents, hoping they will run over their feet, a sign
of good luck.
Devotees prostrate themselves before statues of deities, next to rats sipping milk from
a large bowl.
9.
Port Arthur, Tasmania, Australia
In the nineteenth century, Port Arthur, now a historic site, was a harsh penal colony
where convicts sentenced for non-violent crimes such as "stealing five pigs," were flogged
for even the smallest misdemeanours.
Separate Prison, built in 1848, housed prisoners who severely infringed regulations.
They were kept in cells on their own in darkness and forbidden to speak.
Guards wore slippers so prisoners could not hear their footsteps.
In 1864, an on-site asylum was constructed next to the prison to house the many inmates
who became mentally ill.
Spree killer Martin Bryant murdered 35 tourists and staff in the Broad Arrow Café with a
semi-automatic rifle in 1996.
The cafe is now a memorial to victims of the massacre.
The prison, asylum, and café are open to tourists as well as the ruins of other buildings:
an informative museum and extensive grounds containing gardens, lawns and staff quarters.
Visitors who have been on the evening ghost tour have found it unsettling, which is not
surprising in a place with such a turbulent history.
8.
Ilha de Queimada Grande, Brazil
One problem with using this site as a horror movie location is access.
The Brazilian government has forbidden visitors as the island is home to between 2,000 and
4,000 of the world's most venomous and endangered snakes, golden lancehead vipers.
Only scientists are permitted to visit the island if they take a doctor with them, and
have found the snake's venom could help cure heart disease.
With no major predators and a plentiful diet of migratory birds, the viper, which grows
to over half a metre long, lives in densities of roughly one snake per square metre.
However, it is listed as critically endangered in the International Union for the Conservation
of Nature's Red List, as the Brazilian Navy burns its habitat when maintaining the island's
lighthouse.
The viper's venom melts the flesh around the bite and causes death in seven percent
of cases.
People who do not die can suffer from kidney failure, muscular necrosis or brain injuries.
7.
Temple of Hathor, Dendera, Egypt
Covering an area of around 40,000 square metres , this ancient temple dedicated to Hathor,
goddess of healing, music and dance, is full of mysteries.
There are underground crypts, a Hippostyle Hall with pillars topped with Hathor's head
and an astrological calendar comprising the ceiling of a room on the roof.
Painted blue, the zodiac was used in occult rites glorifying the resurrection of Osiris,
god of the underworld.
The original is now in the Louvre in Paris, France, and has been replaced by a replica.
Visitors may recognise some astrological signs such as those for Aries and Taurus, but not
a hippopotamus goddess representing the constellation of the dragon or a bull's foreleg indicating
the presence of Ursa Major, the Great Bear.
The temple was probably used as a healing center – an inscription on one statue implies
that after water had been poured on sacred texts, it became a miracle cure.
It was visited by Cleopatra – there is a carving of her on an outer wall.
6.
Chauchilla Cemetery, Nazca, Peru
Chauchilla Cemetery covers a vast area of Peruvian desert strewn with smashed skulls,
human bones and pottery shards that were left behind by grave robbers who stole valuable
textiles and jewellery.
People from the Nazca culture were buried here between 200 and 900 AD.
Twelve excavated graves contain mummies with remains of their skin and hair.
They are propped upright, clutching their knees in the fetal position, and wrapped in
their original funerary robes.
The bodies are well preserved due to the desert's dry climate and the mummification process
used – corpses were painted with resin to protect them from deterioration, then placed
in mud brick tombs.
Facing east, in conformity with Nazca burial rites, the mummies are surrounded by ceramic
pots, braided hair bands and fragments of jewellery.
There are also mummified heads with holes in their skulls, some with remains of rope
in them, indicating they were worn as a ceremonial ornament.
5.
Beelitz Military Hospital, Berlin, Germany
Built as a luxury sanitorium for the wealthy in 1898 and standing in 200 acres of woodland,
Beelitz became a military hospital during the First World War.
Hitler was a patient here in 1916 after being hit by shrapnel during the Battle of the Somme.
The 60-building complex continued as a hospital until its owners went bankrupt in 2001.
The war criminal Honecker was treated here in 1990 for liver cancer before escaping to
Chile, where he died in 1993.
Serial killer Wolfgang Schmidt, known as the Beast of Beelitz or the Pink Giant because
of his size and fascination for pink underwear, roamed the complex between 1989 and 1991 until
his arrest.
He stabbed or strangled five female sanitorium workers and killed a three-month-old child.
This unsettling place is popular with ghost hunters and thrill seekers.
4.
Alcatraz, San Francisco, USA
Many people know that the island of Alcatraz, surrounded by freezing shark-infested seas,
was the site of a harsh maximum security prison from 1934 to 1963.
Less well-known is that there was a military prison there from the 1850s to 1933, which
housed deserters, murderers and those convicted of larceny or assault.
Inmates were soldiers from the American Civil War (1861–65) and Spanish American War (1898),
American Indians contesting land rights (1895), and civilian prisoners (1906) after the San
Francisco earthquake.
Prisoners were separated into classes based on their crimes, with those in the lowest
class not allowed to speak, read books, receive letters or have visitors.
In 1971, American Indian representatives who wanted Alcatraz returned to the American Indian
people were forcibly removed from the island by the Nixon government after a 19-month occupation.
The government had cut off supplies of fresh water and electricity, and the representatives
had very little food.
3.
Volcano of Erta Ale, Afar region, Ethiopia
Erta Ale is one of the world's most active basaltic shield volcanoes.
Unimpeded by barriers or other safety features, visitors can go as near the edge of the caldera
as the heat will permit, and gaze at molten lava heaving, bubbling and exploding 20 metres
below.
It is like looking at the surface of Mars, and the lava show beats any fireworks display.
Only 613 metres high, the caldera is accessed by a rocky trail across a hot desert and is
best visited at night when temperatures fall to around 34 degrees celsius or 93.2 fahrenheit.
There is no vehicle access: people must walk for three hours or ride a camel, and are accompanied
by several armed guards as the region is vulnerable to terrorist attacks.
In January 2012, five visitors were killed and four were kidnapped in a pre-dawn attack.
The Afar Revolutionary Democratic Unity Front, who claimed responsibility for the raid, released
two German abductees in March 2012.
2.
Gulliver's Travels Theme Park site, Japan
Gulliver's Travels Theme Park opened in 1997, its bizarre features including a 45-metre-long
statue of a reclining Gulliver being tied down by miniature Lilliputians, and a bobsleigh
run.
Located on the site of Aum Shinrikyo, where a terrorist organisation flooded Tokyo's
subway system with sarin gas in 1995 and killed 12 people, it was hoped the theme park could
dispel the area's negative image and attract tourists.
Visitors, however, were few, maybe because people feared contamination from the residues
of Aum Shinrikyo's nerve gas production facility, which was decommissioned by police
in 1995.
The site is also near Aokigahara Forest, the world's second most popular suicide spot,
a vast area extending over 35 square metres (14 square miles).
In 2010, 54 people committed suicide in the forest, with hanging the most popular method.
The theme park closed in 2001, and was demolished in 2007.
All that remains is a slab of concrete being slowly covered by sand and dust.
1.
Choueung Ek, Cambodia
The "killing fields" of Cambodia, 15 kilometres from Phnom Penh, were where the Kmer Rouge
tortured and killed thousands of their fellow Cambodians in the 1970s.
Between a few dozen and 300 people were murdered here daily.
Victims were clubbed to death with farming implements or wooden clubs, or stabbed with
knives as bullets were considered too expensive.
Babies were battered against trees.
Bodies were then thrown into mass graves.
Between 1979 and 1980, 86 mass graves were excavated, one containing 450 corpses.
In all, 8,985 corpses were disinterred.
A memorial building stands in the centre of the former slaughter site, and contains 8,000
skulls and bones from the excavated graves.
The fields, on which cattle now graze, are still riddled with mass burial sites.
The ground around them is littered wtih fragments of bone and cloth.
In wet weather, human bones can poke up from beneath the soil.
Now a major attraction, over 30 percent of tourists to Cambodia visit this tragic place.

25th anniversary edition The Chase , rip off - Duration: 6:22.
HEY TRIPPSTERS, apparently Garth pulled
the fast one on us or wait maybe I
should say he slipped one in on us and
he's trying to pull a fast one on it
okay let me explain what I'm talking
about
there is a 25th anniversary edition of
the chase
yes his fourth studio album the chase
the one that contains the song we shall
be free okay now the reason I worded it
the way I did about him trying to pull a
fast one on us is this
I have researched this and I have found
that there's nothing special about this
CD okay the only difference between the
25th anniversary special edition and the
original release edition is there's a
big 25 on the front cover that's it
there's no extra cuts there's no extra
anything but it does cost more money
okay
now let me show you what I'm talking
about okay this is the 25th anniversary
edition on Amazon I know that doesn't
focus in good guys I'm really sorry
about that but I can tell you everything
that you need to know okay there is
right here a big 25 okay now if you
scroll down the page you will see right
there I know you can't see that but it
says audio CD released May 19 2017
number of discs 125th anniversary
edition edition okay and the price for
the audio CD is $12.99 now here's the
thing guys if you scroll down the page
you will notice there is no track
listing okay no track listing at all but
if you click on the mp3 version you get
a track listing and it is the same track
listing that was on the original CD 10
songs the same 10 songs okay now here is
the big major difference you have a 25
on the front and the cost is $12.99 plus
tax and shipping okay so if you look at
his other CDs like physical CDs you will
see they are 650 655 658 647 so
basically his his physical CDs are 6
bucks and change so basically if you buy
the 25th anniversary edition of the
chase all you're getting is the original
read the original release with a big 25
on the front cover that's pretty much it
so basically let's see since most of its
physical CDs are 6 bucks and some odd
change this one is 13 bucks so you're
paying an extra $78 for a big 25 on the
front cover that's it no extra tight
North Street rats no extra CDs no extra
anything you're just paying an extra 70
bucks for a big 25 on the front of the
cover that's it now he released this
without making an announcement he's not
said anything about it on the inside
Studio G he didn't do a press conference
there was no press release there was no
nothing okay the word of this is getting
around by word of mouth the fans have
found it and they are sharing the news
with other fans that's basically how the
word is getting out there but I wanted
to do this video to let you guys know
before you jump on this and buy it
you're not getting anything extra and
what you're doing is paying an extra say
8 bucks just to have that number 25 on
the front cover now if that changes if
he releases a track listing and it has
extra songs on it I will let you guys
know but at this point the way it looks
from amazon.com there is nothing extra
on this CD there's nothing special about
it except the 25 on the front cover
that's it so you're paying all that
extra money just to have the number 25
on the front cover of your CD so you
know is it really worth an extra 8 bucks
just to have a number on the front of
your CD cover because to me it's really
not but you know that's just my opinion
what do you guys think is it worth the
extra money just to have that number 25
on the front cover and if you missed any
details the details are on my door
thrips message boards links in the
description and also partially on my
northbrook's website the link is also in
the description so you know you guys
check it out you can go directly to
Amazon I will post the direct link to
the page that that CD is on so that you
guys can see it for yourself and just
check it out look at the details and
tell me if you think it's worth the
extra money
just to have the number 25 on the front
cover but that's that's what we have for
now those are the details that we have
for now okay but I just wanted to give
you guys a heads up and let you know
that this CD is out there and that
honestly there is nothing special about
it
that is going to do it for now this is
ICEPETS QUEEN and I am tripping out

NO PRIVACY OFFLINE! Google will spy on you in physical stores – Can businesses really do anything? - Duration: 4:58.
Google is proud to introduce a new tool for their advertisers.
Following people's credit or debit card purchases, Google will be able to track someone's
interest in an online ad with them shopping the item in a physical store.
This way they will be able to squeeze more money from the advertisements that didn't
result in online purchases but lead the buyers into the stores on the streets.
"Google says it has access to roughly 70 percent of U.S. credit and debit card transactions
through partnerships with other companies that track that data.
By scanning this data, Google says it can automatically inform merchants when their
digital ads translate into sales at a brick-and-mortar store."
Google wouldn't be able to do this if there weren't enough people who said it's okay
because they are a private company and can do whatever they wish.
I disagree.
Let's visualize what this really is.
This is stalking.
If you walked into a store to buy groceries, would you be okay if the owner of the shop
would take your ID, and recorded all of your purchases, things you looked at and for how
long, how much money you had in your wallet, and kept your spending history?
Maybe yes?
This was happening online more than a decade ago.
We've progressed very far since then.
The reality of today goes like this:
If you visit your favorite store, the owner sends agenst to follow for the rest of your day.
The moment you step outside of that building.
The agents would carefully record all of your purchases at other stores.
And also watch you in the gym, see your friends, walked into to your home, and checked what
TV programs you like to watch, what music you like to listen to, what clothes you wear
and have in your closet, they could check your correspondence, your acquaintances…
only to report back to the owner to do with it as they please.
Maybe to design more personlised ads, or perhaps sell it all to the "third parties".
Would you still be okay with this?
You could say that you would then stop shopping at that store and went somewhere else.
Only to realize that they are all connected through chain of advertisers all of them interested
in one thing – the data.
Every store you visit, cinema you go to, work you do, whatever there is would send their
own agents to track you at 100% of your time.
Just because in real life these agents are cookies and advertising IDs doesn't change
the fact that this is seriously disturbing.
This is no longer an attack on your privacy.
This is aiming at your human nature as a free individual.
The law is falling behind on the pace of the progress.
No one except for those making the biggest profit from this situation are able to devote
enough time to track the dramatic changes of the technological innovation.
Average citizen is after all left to express their choice once every four years.
Most people will never be aware that such technology that can connect their online activity
with physical purchases even exists.
And the marketers benefit from this hugely.
What's in the biggest interest in the advertisers isn't the biggest good for the everybody.
This has huge effects on our democracy.
By tracking our physical and online activities, it's creating an unprecedented environment
of constant surveillance.
The eye that never blinks, if you will.
Google crossed the line many years ago but this is pushing things to a next level.
It normalizes profiling of entire physical and virtual human activity.
The only way to avoid this would be to stay off the grid, which is completely inconsistence
with sustainable life in modern society.
Combined with the effects of income inequality, lives of everybody are being decided on through
the lenses of profit hunting algorithms by the smallest number of elites in history of
human civilization.
The data collection is so vast that everything can be predicted based on your previous activity
and interests.
The offer is then cut down to the product that you are most likely to spend the biggest
pile of cash on.
Or in other words: it eliminates your freedom of choice.
Advertisers have become so powerful they are reshaping the society from its free fundamentals
back to the elitist order where the privileged few hold onto power and resources and decide
on other people's lives.
The comfortable argument is that it's great to be given what you want without looking
for it.
But that's inconsistent with human nature to answer incentives to seek the biggest profit.
The personalized experience is narrowed down to the most expensive product you are willing
to pay for, while eliminating potentially cheaper options you might favor instead.
It is more reasonable to believe that
Self-learning machines are programmed on this basis.
Just like in another authoritarian era of human history when the success was measured
in the number slaves or serves someone owned, today it's those who own the data accumulate
most of the wealth.
The new economy isn't based on diversity of production, but around the self-sustaining
circle of targeted advertising with data mining and artificial intelligence.
The vast majority of people are excluded from entering this market.
And there goes one more reason to stop using card payments.
