CINDY: I'M NOT ALL THAT
OPTIMISTIC THAT WE'RE GOING TO
SEE MUCH IN THE WAY OF SUN.
A LOT OF CLOUDS HERE.
THE SUN UP OVER BOSTON.
AND THESE CLOUDS MAY BE A LITTLE
STUBBORN TO BREAK TODAY, BUT IT
IS GOING TO BE DRY AS YOU HEAD
BACK TO WORK AND SCHOOL AND NOT
AS CHILLY AS YESTERDAY.
54 DEGREES ON MEMORIAL DAY.
WE ARE TRENDING A LITTLE BIT
WARMER.
WE'RE GOING TO BE WATCHING
TOMORROW LATE IN THE AFTERNOON
AND THE EVENING HOURS FOR THE
THREAT OF SOME THUNDERSTORMS,
AND THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER
EYEING A GOOD PORTION OF NEW
ENGLAND HERE WITH A MARGINAL
RISK OF SEEING SEVERE STORMS,
THE TIMING DURING THE LATE
AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS.
WE'RE MAKING TOMORROW AN IMPACT
WEATHER DAY FOR THAT REASON.
IT WILL BE MORE TOWARD EVENING.
THE PRIMARY CONCERN WILL BE
STRONGER WINDS AND THE POTENTIAL
FOR SOME HAIL WITH SOME OF THESE
STORMS TOMORROW.
TODAY'S FAIRLY QUIET.
JUST STARTING OUT A LITTLE
DREARY.
WE HAVE FOG REDUCING VISIBILITY
DOWN TO 1/4 MILE NOW IN THE
WORCESTER AREA.
1/2 MILE IN THE NORTH SHORE IN
BEVERLY.
YOU MAY ENCOUNTER A LITTLE BIT
OF THIS FOG AS YOU'RE HEADING
OUT.
YOU SEE A FRONT TO OUR SOUTH.
ANOTHER ONE TO OUR WEST.
THERE'S A LITTLE AREA OF HIGH
PRESSURE TO OUR NORTH THAT'S
TRYING TO BRING IN THE DRY AIR
AND EAT AWAY AT THE CLOUD COVER.
I THINK IT'S GOING TO HAVE A
TOUGH TIME DOING IT TODAY.
YOU CAN SEE HOW LOCKED IN WE ARE
WITH THE CLOUDS THIS MORNING.
AND WITH MORE OF AN
EAST-SOUTHEASTERLY WIND THIS
MORNING, IT'S GOING TO BE TOUGH
TO BREAK THESE CLOUDS APART.
49 DEGREES IN BOSTON, TO THE
NORTH IN BEVERLY, SOUTH IN
PLYMOUTH.
46 AS YOU'RE STEPPING OUT IN
WORCESTER THIS MORNING.
YOU CAN SEE THROUGHOUT THE DAY,
WE DO HANG ON TO A LOT OF CLOUD
COVER.
WITH THIS EAST-SOUTHEASTERLY
WIND, THAT'S WHY IT'S GOING TO
BE TOUGH TO BREAK THE CLOUDS.
ALONG THE COASTLINE, THAT WILL
KEEP YOU IN THE LOW 60'S DURING
THE AFTERNOON, BUT OVER THE
INTERIOR, MID 60'S.
IF WE CAN GET A FEW BREAKS OF
SUNSHINE, WE COULD TACK ON A
COUPLE OF DEGREES TO THESE
TEMPERATURES.
BUT I'M NOT OVERLY OPTIMISTIC.
YOU CAN SEE HOW THE CLOUDS HANG
ON THROUGH LATE MORNING.
WE GET INTO THE AFTERNOON, ONE
OR TWO BREAKS OF SUNSHINE MAY
DEVELOP, BUT ALL THE WHILE,
THERE ARE GOING TO BE STORMS
FIRING UP TO OUR WEST, AND AS WE
GET CLOSER TO MIDNIGHT AND
THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS,
THESE WEAKENING SHOWERS MAY COME
THROUGH.
CAN'T RULE OUT A BRIEF PASSING
SHOWER.
OTHERWISE WE'RE DRY.
ABOUT 50 TO 55 OVERNIGHT.
AND TOMORROW WE GET A LITTLE
BUMP UP IN THE TEMPERATURES.
A LOT OF US SNEAKING UP OVER
THAT 70-DEGREE MARK TOMORROW
WITH MORE OF A SOUTHERLY WIND.
BUT WE'RE GOING TO BE WATCHING
THIS NEXT FRONT JUMP IN HERE
DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON AND
EVENING HOURS AND THAT WILL BE A
TRIGGER FOR THOSE STORMS.
BEHIND IT, THOUGH, DRY WEATHER
AND LOADS OF SUNSHINE.
THURSDAY LOOKS LIKE THE PICK OF
THE WEEK.
WE SHOULD JUMP UP INTO THE MID
70'S.
A CLOSER LOOK AT TOMORROW WITH
THE TIMING OF THOSE STORMS.
CLOUDS IN THE MORNING.
THEN WE BREAK FOR SOME SUNSHINE.
THAT WILL REDUCE -- INCREASE,
RATHER, THE THREAT OF STORMS
POPPING UP LATE IN THE DAY.
