Baywatch just hit theaters for Memorial Day weekend and so far the reviews have been...
let's just say mixed.
The Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson led film currently has an 18 percent rating form critics on Rotten
Tomatoes but it does have a 71 percent from the audience.
However more than a few movie critics have trashed it, with Vox calling it a limp, charmless
waste of talent.
Well despite that stellar review and the lower than expected box office numbers, Baywatch
2 plans are already in the works.
Producer Beau Flynn shared plans for a sequel at the New York City screening of the film
earlier this week.
"We have an amazing story already...I know Dwayne would be in, I know Zac and all the
girls would be.
We just have this really cool idea to put them in this whole new world.
We would take it overseas."
Variety reported that some of the other cast members would be on board for a sequel with
Alexandra Daddario saying that she's a fan of being a part of a franchise.
But then again why wouldn't she be, franchises rule at the box office despite audiences whining
about franchise overload.
Time will tell is the sequel will happen or not.
Based on the quotes that have been circling around, it seems to be just an idea that everyone
is considering, but if the film continues to under perform the sequel will likely be
scratched.
