Police Report Reveals Details About Tiger Woods' DUI Arrest - Duration: 3:03.
Tiger Woods was arrested early Monday morning in Jupiter, Florida and charged with driving
under the influence.
And in the hours following his arrest, reports seemed to indicate that Tiger had been drinking
before getting hit with a DUI.
According to the initial TMZ report about the incident, the police officer who pulled
Tiger over smelled alcohol on his breath while speaking with him.
Additionally, TMZ reported Tiger refused to take a breathalyzer test on the scene, which
further led police to suspect that he had been drinking before getting behind the wheel
of his 2015 Mercedes.
And the mugshot of Tiger that was released—which went viral soon after it hit social media
and turned into the saddest meme of 2017—certainly suggested that alcohol played a part in his
arrest.
But on Monday night, ESPN senior golf writer Jason Sobel shared a statement from Tiger,
and in that statement, Tiger claimed that alcohol was not involved in his DUI arrest.
He said that he experienced an adverse reaction to prescription drugs Monday morning and that
that was what led to him getting arrested.
"I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions.
I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved.
What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications.
I didn't realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly."
On Tuesday morning, TMZ released a police report about the incident that appeared to
back up the story Tiger told in his statement.
In the report, the police officers who arrested Tiger pointed out that he was sitting in his
vehicle asleep when they found him on a street about eight miles from his Florida home.
They woke Tiger up, but he was slow to react and slurred his speech.
He reportedly told the officers he was heading home after golfing in Los Angeles.
The officers administered a sobriety test to Tiger, and according to the report, he
failed it.
He struggled to balance himself on one leg and couldn't hold his arm out and touch
his nose.
But contrary to previous reports, Tiger agreed to take a breathalyzer test after he was transported
to a testing facility in the area, and he reportedly didn't have any alcohol in his
system at the time of his arrest.
However, police reported that he was "very droopy" and "extremely sleepy" and that
he had a hard time keeping his eyes open and walking.
In the police report, the officers listed four medications Tiger has reportedly been
prescribed in the past, including Solarex, Vicodin, Torix, and Vioxx, though it's unclear
if he had taken any of those drugs in the hours leading up to his arrest.
But Woods underwent back surgery back in late April—the fourth back surgery of his career—so
there's a chance he was still taking medications tied to that.
There are still plenty of unanswered questions swirling around Tiger's arrest.
Like, what was he doing driving around in the middle of the night in his condition?
And why doesn't he have someone driving for him in the first place, especially when
he's in the middle of recovering from a pretty serious surgery?
The answers to those questions should come to light in the coming weeks.
Tiger is scheduled to make an appearance in court to answer to his DUI charge in July.

Jeep Wrangler DV8 Off-Road Steel Rock Guard/Sliders Plated (2007-2017 JK 4-Door) Review & Install - Duration: 4:29.
I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com and this is my review and installation of the DV8 Off-Road
Steel Rock Guard/Slider Plated with Holes, fitting your four-door 2007 and up JK.
Today, we're gonna talk through the installation of this slider, which is going to be a simple
one-out-of-three-wrench install.
This is designed to bolt directly onto your Jeep without the need to drill or do any other
major modifications, and you should be able to get these bolted up in about an hour, but
we'll talk more about the install in just a second.
DV8 Off-Road offers these rock sliders with the plating with the holes in it to give you
a little bit more style.
It also offers the same slider without the plating for about $50 less, and that slider
in that same design, in that same look is available by a lot of different manufacturers
in a lot of different forms.
All of them are gonna be around the same price and all of them are going to mount the same,
so they'll offer roughly the same protection.
These are designed to mount on the body bushing bolts, which are the two smaller bolts that
are next to the main body bolt.
So, of course, you're not going to have as much strength as if you were to mount directly
onto those much larger and stronger body bolts.
These also, even with this four-door version, only have two mounting points.
Some of the stronger versions out there will have a third mounting point on the four-door,
giving you a little bit of a beefier protection.
These also aren't going to mount at all to the pinch seam, which is another area where
they're gonna give up a little bit of strength.
These rock sliders are for those of you that are gonna be doing some lighter wheeling,
that are looking to cover up that pinch seam with the plating and just need some light
protection.
If you are somebody who's doing more hardcore wheeling, you're gonna be dropping your Jeep
off of a ledge onto your rocker and you need some really solid protection, I would recommend
looking at a slider that mounts in a slightly different way.
This slider is made from 0.16-inch wall thickness steel that is covered in a textured black
powder coat finish.
As I said before, what makes this different from the DV8 Rock Slider that doesn't have
the plating is, of course, it doesn't have this steel plate on the outside that has the
holes punched in it with a dye.
Now, that plate is really there more for style than anything else.
It adds a little bit of cost, it adds a little bit of weight, but I personally do like the
way it looks versus just the bare tubular style of the version of this that doesn't
have that plating.
So I think it's worth it for that little bit of additional style.
As we said before, this is not going to offer you a ton of hardcore protection.
But if you want the look of a rock slider, you don't need a ton of protection, this is
gonna save you a little bit of money.
This is going to be a very simple one-out-of-three-wrench install that you should be able to get done
in right around an hour.
The first step is to get underneath the Jeep and remove the two body bushing bolts that
are on the front body mount and the rear body mount on your four-door.
Once you have those removed, you can put the step up into place, either having a friend
hold one side of it, propping it up on a tall jack stand or a jack, however you need to
get it held up into place so you can get those bolts started again.
Once you have them started, go ahead and torque the bolts down, and you're done.
As I said, a very simple process.
You can do this with hand tools, you can do this in your driveway, and it'll only take
about an hour.
These rocker guards come in at a little over $300, and for what they are, I honestly don't
think that that's a bad price.
There are some other versions of these rock sliders out there that are a similar design,
are gonna offer similar amounts of protection that are right around that same cost, and
I think that is pretty fair.
If you aren't interested in the plating with the holes in it, you can save yourself $50
and go with the DV8 version of these without the plating on them.
And for something that is mostly a visual mod, like I said before, it's gonna offer
some light protection on the trail, it's gonna offer some protection against door dings in
the parking lots, but it's not hardcore protection, I think this is appropriately priced.
So if you're looking for some light protection off-road and on-road as well as a visual mod
that's going to cover that otherwise unfinished-looking pinch seam on your four-door JK, I think this
is going to be an appropriately-priced option as long as you don't need more hardcore protection.
