Everyone knows someone who's just negative all the time.
Everyone knows someone who's not fun to talk to because they're constantly whining
about their problems.
And everyone knows someone who's just miserable.
Wouldn't it be great to be a more positive, optimistic and happy person?
Well, you can.
Everything you need to be a more positive person is already inside you.
It'll take you a little bit of practice and time, but it's achievable.

Let's get started.
Change your broadcast.
Well, let's start by changing what you show to people.
And that starts with your exterior.
Wide eyes and smiles help, straighten that posture, shoulders wide, palms open, relax
and imagine that everything in your life is perfect.
Notice the difference?
Next, be very mindful what you say to people.
There's no point doing any of that if you're just going to say negative stuff.
"I hate your face, you fucking wanker" If you've got something negative, critical
or insulting to say … don't!
Always be complimentary, always try and see the good in people and in situations.
And above all, unless they're very close friends or family members, don't bother
people with your shit right now.
Start each conversation on in a positive manner.
You've only got a short window to make a good positive impression on them.
Open every conversation with something positive.
Compliments about the other person definitely helps here, but also say something good about
yourself!
"I've just won the lottery.
Oh it feels fantastic!"
Stop filling your head with negative garbage.
In a recent study, they found that people who watched the morning news were 27% more
likely to have a bad day.
"In this morning's news, a man with an assault rifle has just shot a puppy in the
face.
Actually, we're just receiving word that it's not actually a puppy … it's a disabled
child."
To increase your positivity, it helps to not fill your head with negative garbage in the
first place.
If you've got negative comments on social media, delete them, if you read negative newspapers,
or magazines articles, get rid of them.
And if you watch the morning news – don't.
Especially if you like puppies … or disabled children.
Get rid of negative people.
This is going to be a tough one.
Everyone knows someone who is a negative influence in their lives.
This includes friends and family members.
It's time to cut ties with them, or at least severely reduce the amount of time that you
spend with them.
These people are energy vampires that suck the energy out of you and just bring you down
– you don't want that in your life.
So stop spending so much time with them.
Don't focus on problems, focus on solutions.
Everyone's got problems.
But negative people fixate on these problems and it brings their mood down.
Whereas positive and optimistic people look for solutions.
If you've got some issue or crisis, start looking for answers and solutions, as opposed
to getting depressed about your problems.
If you're stuck …? A lot of people are stuck in negative ways
of thinking.
And if that describes you, try something that I call the 'now step'.
Do something right now, that moves you in a positive direction.
Once you've done that little first step, do another one.
Do another one.
Do another one.
And pretty soon you'll be a more positive person because you'll probably keep doing
these little positive steps.
Be grateful for things.
A lot of people complain about what they've not got and how bad their life is.
Rather than doing that, focus on what's good about your life.
Be grateful for your personality, your talents, abilities, the fact that you're alive.
Find a way to be grateful about life.
Certainly beats being depressed over the things that you haven't got.
