The storm caused the longest electricity black-out in U.S. history

A new NASA study mapped Puerto Rico's slow recovery using night lights satellite data

Lights before the storm

This high-resolution imagery was created with three powerful

data sets that monitored the absence of electricity

41 percent of the long-duration power outages

that occurred post-Maria happened in rural areas

29 percent of the long-duration power outages occurred in urban areas

Puerto Rico's energy grid directs all power to prioritized locations, like urban centers,

rather than by proximity to the nearest power plant

Imaging the absence of electricity from space offers a new way to visualize

impacts to Puerto Rico's most vulnerable communities

The next step will be to sync-up Black Marble night lights data

with updated information on community lifelines

Which can help local governments and first responders

identify at-risk areas and allocate resources

dishes here you have to try while in solo

which is nasi liwet a popular

choice for breakfast lunch or supper

hi I'm Marissa Iskandar and today I'm gonna trynasi liwet

and nasi liwet

what from what I know is very famous here in solo

and basically it is a famous coconut rice here

and I'm really excited to try

it smells so good

and it looks so good

and it looks very

interesting I've never eaten anything like this before

I see there's rice

there's egg there's shredded bits of chicken

and I believe they're some vegetable in here and I'm

not sure what's on top right here this white stuff

it looks like almost like

yogurt

you see that or like cottage cheese the mix

yeah I'm not sure

exactly how to eat it

I didn't know who those people were over there :~)

mmmmm......

it's actually really good

when I first taste I can taste a strong coconut

flavor which I'm pretty sure is the main ingredient as I know and I taste a

little bit of lemongrass

mmmm.......

mmm.... its good

and I love the mixture with the rice and then the vegetables and it has shredded

chicken that's really flavorful and then it comes with the egg it's SO GOOD

I can see

why many people love nasi liwet especially the solo version of nasi

liwet

slurp... mmmm......

okay so I went to so many places here in Solo and

I was searching for nasi liwet and there's one particular place that I

wanted to try in Solo but they already sold out and it was only nine o'clock

and they sold out usually street foods open till late at night

man and it is so good...... :)

mmmmm.....

okay so here they have the chicken head its kinda freaking me out

you can see the whole face of this chicken head

only in Indonesia will you see the face of every single animal here chicken

head fish head and shrimp head

that is out of this world

mmmmm.....

and the nasi liwet is SO GOOD

I just came from a party

and I was so hungry

and this is the perfect dish to enjoy

it kind of tastes like soto betawi

okay so I'm going to be brave and try chili

the chili is so spicy... ooo yes the chili is that spicy

woaaa... woaaahhhh.....

I love the nasi liwet went from Solo and is so good very delicious and I love all

of the Indonesian seasonings that is season with it

mmmmm.....
