I'm Brendan at the Big4 MacDonnell Range Holiday Park.
When we started off in '84, we had about 12 cabins and then we had about 150 sites.
Now we have about 47 cabins, at this stage, and then we have about 350 sites.
Well, probably being my age (laughs) I'm not as up with all that online stuff
but my daughter, Fiona she's an accountant here as well so, she's the one who instigated all of that,
so very lucky to have someone, you know, in the family that can do that.
The caravanning industry has changed a lot over the years,
people used to set out with their map and paper guide, nowadays it's all social media
and WikiCamps and Facebook and TripAdvisor, and people rely on that really heavily.
And so, they read your review's and they want to look at your website and make sure it's current
and you have your availability up there, and your rates and what facilities you have
and it's all just a click away if they can find about you nowadays.
We've had out Google Business Listing for a few years now.
I found it very easy, I set it up before I even had a digital marketing consultant.
You just follow the prompts, add some photos, put your business information in.
It's quite simple for anyone to do.
Being on Google and having a business listing is really important
because Google is such a big search engine everyone uses it, it brings us up higher on our page listings
it shows all our rates available from all the different OTA's.
So, Google also has it's own reviews and ratings so it's very easy to go in there and see your average rating,
you can see all the reviews and you get a chance to reply to people as well.
It doesn't take a lot of time or effort to do that and keep on top.
People like to see that you care and that you're replying to those reviews
if there's a problem or thanking people for their time to review you.
The best tip I can give is just get in there and have a go and set up your business listing,
it's not hard, it doesn't take a lot of time, it's very easy to snap some photos and put
them up there and you know everyone has a mobile phone, snap a little video put that up there as well.
It's very easy, just have a go at it.
If you don't have the time and the knowledge the best thing is to engage a consultant.

We decided to engage a consultant, which was the best thing we did.
We don't have the time or the knowledge really to do a cohesive strategy ourselves
So our best option was to employ someone to do that.
Which has been great - she's given us a fantastic strategy and she's on top of it all the time,
checks our SEO, uses Google Analytics all the time to check how our website is going
and where people are visiting us from and what pages they like to visit.
Where they're coming from to find our site - they organically search for us which is really good
because that comes back to the Google Business Listing, that we're very prominent on the social media
So we have plenty of content out there in the online world.
