What is going on guys it's rob here from steps to success
So I hope you're all having a terrific day and that you're ready for a complete step by step
guide to Amazon FBA in 2018 so I'm gonna be going over a full breakdown of
Every single step that is required for one person to be successful selling on Amazon FBA and
At the same time everything you need to know before you even get started
of how everything surrounds Amazon FBA what is required to be successful and
Every single to a method that you need to follow to ensure your success
selling on this platform so the very first question that you guys want to know is what is
Amazon FBA and how can you make money from it so Amazon FBA stands for
Fulfillment by Amazon and what that basically means is you find you can source products that are already
selling on Amazon's platform and
In this video we're gonna be focusing on private labeling so what a private label basically means is you find?
Products that are selling and are making good profit on Amazon you source these products
From countries such as China or anywhere overseas where you can source these products for cheap you can private label
So you can put your own label of company on these products and ship it to Amazon from there?
Amazon stores your products
Amazon deals with any customer returns Amazon deals with box in your packages and
The whole shebang so basically they take care of everything for you
And your only job is to source good selling products with good profit margins send them to Amazon FBA
warehouse and amazon has
distribution centers all over the US or if you deciding on selling in Canada in UK in Germany or wherever
Amazon offers their services all you have to do is basically ship your products from your supplier
Straight to Amazon's warehouse and everything else
Amazon covers for you
So you don't have to do any of the packaging any of you don't have to talk with any of your customer
So it's very very straightforward
So the again the second step wants are now you guys understand what Amazon FBA is is
Setting up your seller account
So what I usually?
tell all my students is you have two choices either you can set up an
Individual account just so you can submit all the information that's required again some of the information might be your company name
If you are deciding to you know open up as a sole proprietorship
Which means that you still have not created a company, or if you have a slightly higher budget?
I recommend you guys opening a what's called an LLC or a corporation and
an LLC stands for a limited liability company and a corporation works in a similar manner where
You create a company that
Counts as a separate entity from you so if world-war ever reason one of your products ended up hurting someone or something went wrong
The customer can sue you personal and go after your personal assets, so a company that's in either a Corp
It could be a C Corp and S Corp or an LLC
Protects that account as an individual entity so that you that way you are
Protected and once you sign up for the seller central you have two options as I mentioned an individual account which is
Absolutely free you don't pay for anything
only once you sell your products Amazon takes their fees or our second option is for you to open a
professional account
Now with an individual account you're limited to how many units you can sell every single day
Or in general with a professional account. That's where we go into private labeling which is what?
We are talking about in this video, and that's where the big money is for Amazon FBA and there is a fee associated with
Opening up a professional account which is $39.99. So it's 40 dollars a month if you are selling in u.s.. Again
If you're interested in selling in Canadian
FBA the fee is the same it's just $40 Canadian instead of $40 u.s.. I
I recommend that everyone starts selling in the US market
Just because the demand is so so so large and at the same time you can you can dissect and find really?
Profitable products and the best ways to always try it out in the US market
and if you can get success and see those profits rolling it and
By knowing how the product works by knowing the target market your customers
It's very easy for you to emulate that success and bring the same product over to a different you know different
Amazon FBA warehouse, so it could be again you can move from the u.s.
Into Canada or into UK into Germany or whatever you are interested in selling
So once you open up your professional or individual account you want to have everything set up
So once you move into actually finding the products. You know everything is already set up, and you're ready to go and
The third step which I already touched based upon is how to get a business
License so if you're interested in opening whether it's a corporation an LLC a limited liability company
You can do that on LegalZoom. It's a really good website that I recommend to all of my students and
They do everything for you, so you just put in all your information
They send you a book they straight to your house
And you're you're good to go and everything is covered in it
And they ask you all the questions that you need to do, so you don't need to do any guesswork
You don't need to go online look up information, so everything is there for you
I'm gonna be including a link guys for every single step that I'm covering in this video for you down in the description
So it's easy for you guys
to go back and in case you want to you know go to a websites get set up on Amazon FBA or guru ligo's and
Everything is gonna be included in the description box so now that you have actually set up your business entity the next step is
product research guides product research is the most
important and fundamental
aspects of Amazon FBA
Reason being you can have the best product
That's best packaging best price
But if that product doesn't have the demand or it doesn't have the necessary margit
You can kiss your product. Goodbye no matter how much money you spend in it. No matter how much advertising you put into it
It's just not gonna make you money
So you have to ensure that you spend enough an ample amount of time on product research
This is one step that you don't wanna forego guys. I know a lot of people you know sometimes
They get lucky and find a product on their first day
But for most people that are getting started on Amazon FBA it might take you a couple weeks
To find that first product, and I always tell all my students guys
Spend a couple hours a day
Preferably in the morning or when you have some time without any distraction and just keep looking at products looking at products
And it ensures that once you find that first product
And you bring it into Amazon FBA all the time that you spent finding that product is gonna be absolutely
Worth it especially
When you start seeing that money coming the profits start to roll in and you you go back, and you tell yourself hey
I'm glad that I put enough time and I found a good product because I've seen so many people try to
jump over the Amazon FBA product research method
And they just want to get a product going and it ends up costing them not only money
But time as well so make sure that you use a good product research tool as well
Especially since you want to find that golden product guys. You don't want it as I mentioned
You don't want to find random products that are not gonna be generating the profit that you want so the two tools that I use
And I've been using them for
jungle Scout is the first tool I've been using it since I started selling on Amazon FBA which is just under two years now and
Jungle Scout to this day. I still use it
It's one of the best product research tools with jungle scout you can actually find products that are selling so you can put specific
Criteria and some of the criterias that I use on jungle Scout is
the price point uh per product
You want to ensure that the price point of a product is not too low at the same time it's not too high so I?
Like to stick within the 15 to $50 range
You want to make sure that the weight of the product again is not too heavy the whole go
on fps for you to
find
Products that are about under one and a half to two pounds that you can ship very inexpensively
Via air straight to Amazon FBA warehouse once your product starts going over that two-pound weight
range
You'll start to see that the shipping will become extremely extremely expensive guys
And this is something that you want to stay away from so another thing. That's very important for Amazon FBA
Especially if you've used Amazon's platform is the number of reviews that you have for a product
So when you're putting in the criteria on your Amazon FBA product research tool you want to ensure that you don't go and compete with
Anyone over five to six hundred review range again
I kind of like when it's usually between 100 to 300 but even for people who have 500 to 600
It's easy for you to be able to compete so don't go anything over that I know some people say hey go and compete with
people you know that have less than 50 reviews, but that's unrealistic a
Lot of the products that have under 50 reviews there, are they're either too new
That's hard for you to get any information out of or they might be a you know trending product that again
You don't know where it's gonna. Go so it's very important that you find existing products that are gonna sell well on Amazon FBA
another product research tool that also does a similar task and
Completes the same job as jungle scout is viral launch a viral launch is again
Both of these product research tools have a monthly fee associated with them for jungle scouts
You can get the basic plan which is $40 a month, and as well there is an extension
I recommend the white extension, which all you need to basically do is it will show you each seller how much revenue. They're making
What kind of quantity they're selling a month, and that's all you guys need for the extension?
And they have the jungle Scout web app which is a $40 a month fee
And this is the the product research tool that you use to finding your profitable products
Now the $40 a month guys you don't have to pay for it for a whole year
I recommend to all my students sign up for a one-month find your first product once you've tracked
It make sure everything is good. You can pause it again once you're ready to find your second third or fourth product you can again
Resume it. I personally use it throughout the month because every month
I'm looking for new products to add to my inventory so I'm different, but if you are new to Amazon FBA
This is a one-time fee
If you want it to be just use it for that month and again keep it going for the extension however
there is a one-time fee, but then you get it for life so again if you get the
Jungle Scout extension pour it's 250
And if you get just the regular it's about it's about $100 cheaper so again it depends on what you guys actually want
To get out of it the difference between the pro, and the light is that you get an opportunity score
Which is a rating between one to ten the higher? It is the better?
Once again, I don't think that it's necessary
But again if you are new to Amazon FBA it can be a good indicator that will you know?
Give you a little bit of support that how good are the product that you found is on Amazon so you'll get to see
If the product has a high demand if it has a low demand and how well is the competition so you might have a product
as a high demand high competition
Where you know the opportunity score?
Which is how good the product is might be a six out of ten or you might find a product that has a high demand
And low competition and it might give you a nine or ten out of ten so that will also help
You know this product that you found is a good product to sell on Amazon FBA
So now I'm gonna be going over some of the best
Categories for you to be able to sell under so some of the categories are is baby
Products you have home and kitchen I tend to like electronics
But I'm gonna be making a list right here on the side
so also make sure that you follow these categories just these are some of the categories that have performed really well for me and
Once you download and pay for the product research tool just make sure that these
categories that I have on the side is
Enabled so you can make sure that you're looking under the right categories and these categories
tend to have one of the best profit margins and
Good demands throughout the year for most products, but I'm gonna be going over later in this video
What kind of things you guys want to watch out for in terms of?
You know the stats on a product knowing that it's not a seasonal product so on and so forth so the next
step guys are once you have found the product is to tracking the product jungle scout viral launch give you an
estimate of
Monthly revenue with an estimate amount of units that you can expect to sell per month
But these are all estimate numbers
So we want to make sure that each product that you know before we even go negotiated with suppliers to order it is
gonna be selling for us and the way we do that is through the i99 method if
You don't know what the i99 method is basically we go to each individual sellers account
Change the car to $9.99 and we want to be able to know how many units of inventory each seller has
for their product
and we track that through a seven-day period and we that way we can compare these numbers with the
estimate number jungle Scout and water launch gives us to be able to support those numbers and know that
Exactly what we can expect to sell when we introduced the same product to our Amazon account
This is a must guy so you want to be able to track every single one of your products you have no idea how many?
People that I've seen skip this step again
It will come to haunt you later on so make sure that you track your products for at least
five to seven days very important guys
Again a couple other things you want to do at the same time as you're tracking
It is to check for patents if your product is patented. You are not able to sell it on Amazon FBA check for
Trademarks you cannot include trademark names symbols on your Amazon FBA listing
amazon finds out someone reports you will get taken off and
three you want to check the trends for your product make sure it's not a
Seasonal product or if it is you can make sure that you get your product before the season starts
and
Hopefully sell it before the end of the season again if you're new to Amazon FBA don't do a seasonal product for your first product
Guys very very very important, and we also have keepa which is a jungle scout which is sorry and extend that you can
Enable on your Chrome and what this does is it goes back?
Sometimes you'll see that products. You can only order say. There is a southern limit of 10 units per
Product keep out what it does is it goes and checks the buyer sales ranking and you can help
Compare the sales rank with other people that don't have the say southern
Restriction on this so you can get a good idea of how many units a day they're still
Selling so you can do the i99 through that method as well so once
We've done all this know that the product has you know good potential
It is selling we want to go and ship our products to Amazon
When you're shipping your products to Amazon guys there are two methods that you can do either sea shipping, which I highly?
Recommend that you do not do especially if you're new
versus air shipping air shipping is one of the best and also make sure when you are asking for an air shipping code that you
Ask for a DDP which is delivery duty paid which includes the product
Sent straight from your suppliers website all the way to Amazon FBA
So you don't pay for any duties tax as nothing everything is included and in the price
This is very important guys if you don't do this
Amazon will not pay for the duties of taxes of your product
And if it arrives in the US distribution center warehouse for Amazon Amazon will send it directly back to your supplier
So now you have to repay for the same shipping again, so be careful that you ask for a DDP price
Once you have found that product now next step is for us to calculate our profit margin
Again guys if you're new to Amazon FBA I do have a course
Which comes with my one-on-one mentoring where I help you find those products. I go over your products with you
Help you with negotiating and sending your products to Amazon FBA and at the same time help
You make sales of those products so you get me as a mentor
throughout the whole period so if you're interested in taking that I will include a link below in the description
Box where you can purchase the course and have me as your mentor
And I also have a ton of great content within the course that has all kinds of tips tricks and hacks that I use to
Be successful on Amazon FBA, but what we want to do with our Amazon FBA
profit margin
There is a website called an Amazon FBA calculator, which is actually ran through Amazon's platform so in this scenario
You can actually find the essence which is basically a competitor who is selling the same product as you plug it in there
You know your product cost because it's so far
I gave it to you know your ship costs again because the supplier gave your ship price to Amazon appease warehouse and you know your
selling price
because that's how much your competitors are selling you'll forth so you want to make sure that you have a minimum of thirty five to
forty percent net profit margin
I tend to look for forty to fifty percent
Just because once you get your product into Amazon warehouse you still have some fees such as advertising which will be
Reduced from that so it's very important that you guys target that as a bare minimum net profit margin
So you can make sure that at the end of the day your time you can make it not only a ton of money off
it but your time is well spent for the products that you're searching and
This is very very important guys make sure that you have these necessary margins as well
next step is
Once you're negotiating with supplier what you want to do is you want to go ahead and create a logo and branding for your product
I highly recommend you either if you know someone who is good at you know creating design
I reach out to your friends or hire someone on Fiverr. It's very inexpensive
you can make get a logo made anywhere from five to ten dollars and
It's and make sure that the logo that you get may actually
Stands behind the same seller account that you're selling so if you're selling baby products make sure that the logo goes
Along you know not only the name, but the logo matches
this kind of products that you'll be selling which is very very important and
now that you know which product you're gonna be selling now is the time before you even pay for it to create that listing and
On Amazon seller central making sure that the product is not restricted guys when you have a restricted product
You will not be able to sell it on Amazon again
You don't want to be in this situation so always add your product before usually you pay your supplier to make sure that the seller
Listing for you is active and you have no issue selling the product
Make sure guys supplies will usually give you pictures for you to use as your product page
But I highly recommend to all my students
It's a well worth investment for you to hire someone again on Fiverr to do professional product photography
So I usually like to put two white background pictures
I like to have
show pictures of the product being used on the benefits of the product the packaging of the products so try to include this in your
Pictures under your pictures for your product page and not only does will it help you stand apart from all your competitors
but if you do a good enough job of
Proving that value and showcasing that value to your customers you can actually charge the premium price for your product even though
It's a similar product to other competitors
So product photography is one of the best ways for you to differentiate guys one of the least expensive
But but I cannot stress this enough. It's so powerful when you do a good job with your
product photography
Now you've hopefully
Ordered the product listing is active product arrives Amazon FBA is warehouse now
It's time for us to launch our product
So the goal with launching our product is we want to be doing a couple of different things so we can get our
Product listing onto the first page so when people search for our product again
Let's say we're selling a security
camera bulb when someone searches for that keyword we want to make sure that we're on the first page and the way we do that
Is through sales velocity so Amazon tracks?
How well you do based on how many units you sell a day?
So we can achieve this by doing giveaways which is we can do through online platforms, so we have jump Sun which
Basically does a certain amount of giveaways to people at a discount so Amazon still tracks. This as increasing your sales velocity
again the second step is PPC so you can do PPC and
PPC is very important, which stands for pay-per-click, so these are all the different
Advertising tools that you have at your fingertips that you can use to increase that sales velocity
So if someone is selling 10 units a day on first page you want to also ensure that
Through this separate method you're giving away. You're spending money on advertising to
Reach the same number of 10 units a day so you're listening I get onto that first page that way
The whole Google guys with Amazon appears to start yet
Rid of all the unnecessary expenses wanting to get on the first page and finding other keywords that you can get ranked for
Because organic sales means that you will maximize your profit margin, so if you have a 40% profit margin
And you're not spending any money on advertising
Most of that money is going back into your profit back into your pocket which is very very important guys
From this step all we want to do is just maintain our products so you want to maintain your product
I just make sure that if your inventory level inventory level falls below a certain amount reach out to your
supplier say hey
I need another 500 units when can you send it so you can always?
Ensure that you have enough lead time for your next product to arrive at Amazon FBA
Warehouses so this is very important guys
you don't want to run out of inventory especially if you're making profits day over day and making sales and
From this point on guys you want to always have a long term goal in whatever it is that you're doing so
Hopefully with this account that you've made you can slowly start to add other
complementary products and
Create a brand around the products that you're selling and once you do this
It's very easy to scale on Amazon because then people start to know you
By your brand name selling a specific type of products and that's how you can scale and grow your Amazon FBA business
