How to Make Yourself Study When You Have ZERO Motivation - Duration: 9:00.
Let's be honest with each other here.
You're not actually supposed to be on YouTube right now.
Right?
No you probably have some huge assignment
that's staring at you from your desk right now,
but the thought of doing any work
on that assignment right now
is the last thing on your mind
because you have literally no motivation to do it.
And if you're feeling that way,
well you're not alone.
I feel that way all the time.
And despite all the years I have put
into productivity research
and all the videos you see on this channel,
at least once a week
I run into a situation where I have to do something
and I have basically no motivation to do it.
So this is a pretty common problem.
And despite those immortal words from Shia LaBeouf
constantly ringing in our heads ...
- Just do it!
- A lot of us continually deal with it.
Now within the realm of productivity,
there are both long term fixes and short term fixes.
And for a problem like this,
a problem of motivation,
long term fixes would be things like
building better self discipline
or building strong habits
or creating a better study space.
But today I wanna focus on the short term fixes.
If you have something that you need to get done today,
but you're feeling completely unmotivated,
what can you do?
Well today I'm gonna go through a four step process
that I go through every single time
that I'm feeling this way.
And through personal experience over several years,
I have learned that doing these things really does help,
even if my brain tells me that,
this time I really am having an off day.
This time it's not going to work.
When I actually take the time
and put in the effort to put these things into practice,
they really do help.
And the first one on the list is to simply
go outside and go for a walk.
This is probably the simplest practice on the list.
But it's also the one that my brain
always tries to convince itself that it doesn't need to do.
Because when I have a lot of work to do,
the thought of getting up from my desk
and going outside,
seems like a huge waste of time.
But every single time that I do it,
when I'm feeling unmotivated
or I'm dealing with brain fog,
it always helps to raise my motivation levels
and clear my head.
Now I could send you all sorts of scientific evidence
about why this is true.
For instance,
Dr. John Ratey's book, "Spark,"
goes into all sorts of detail about how exercise
raises your cognitive abilities after you do it.
And there are also studies that show that Vitamin D,
which you get primarily through sunlight exposure,
can help with symptoms of fatigue.
And there's also the Japanese concept of Shinrin-Yoku,
or forest bathing,
which asserts that exposure to nature,
you know forests and trees like this,
can have all sorts of health benefits.
But the main thing I want to share here
is my personal experience with this practice.
Because my ability to focus is always
100% of the time improved when I choose to go for a walk.
Or to be more accurate,
whenever I choose to go outside and do any kind of exercise.
Could be playing basketball or skateboarding.
The reason I chose to focus on walking here
is that it's easy.
You don't need any equipment.
You don't need a basketball.
You don't need a bike.
And you can even do it if it's cold.
As they say in Norway,
there is no such thing as bad weather,
only bad clothes.
Now let's go back to the studio.
So once you've gone out and finished that walk
and you brought your mental energy up just a little bit,
the next thing on the list to do
is to decide on one specific task to work on.
If you have a to do list with multiple items on it,
put it away.
You need to commit to a single task
and you don't want that to do list
to be a temptation to jump to something else
once it gets difficult.
It's all about committing.
Imagine a hamster ball with three different hamsters in it.
If all those hamsters
are trying to go their own little separate direction,
then that hamster ball is going to go nowhere.
But if they all decide to go in one direction,
well they're probably going to trip all over each other
because hamster balls
were not designed for multiple hamsters,
but luckily your brain is not a hamster ball.
And when you decide on one specific direction to go in
and you commit to it,
you make progress.
Now you can make this commitment purely mental.
But I also find that it sometimes works
to pull out a scrap of paper
and write down the task that you decide to work on,
so that way it can be sitting next to you on your desk
and constantly reminding you if you start to forget.
And if you want an electronic solution,
there's also a chrome extension called momentum,
which basically replaces your new tab screen
with a cool wallpaper
and it lets you decide on one singular focus
that you can type in and then set.
Alright onto step three in the process.
Once you've decided on that one task
you're going to work on,
the next step is to clear to neutral.
This means to clear up your work space,
your desk,
and your desktop on your computer,
and setting that space back to a state
where it's prepped for that single task
you decided to work on and nothing else.
Anthony Bourdain talks about a similar concept
in his book, "Kitchen Confidential."
He talks about how a chef that he used to work with
went up to one of his line cooks
and ran his hands across the cooks really dirty,
crumb-filled cutting board,
put it up to his face and said,
this is what your brain looks like.
Work clean.
Every chef knows the value of mise en place.
Did I get that right this time?
- [Offscreen Male] Yep. - Yes!
Which is a French term that essentially means,
everything in its place.
When your work area is organized
and set up for the task that you have decided on,
you are going to work on that task a lot more effectively.
Again remember that hamster ball.
Finally,
to actually get yourself into the process of doing the task,
utilize what I like to call,
the low effort hack.
This is a useful little mental hack that I use,
on pretty much,
a daily basis.
Because usually when I feel mental resistance to a task,
like researching for a video
or writing a video script,
that mental resistance is usually because
of how difficult it is to do the task well.
If I'm writing a video script,
usually I feel resistance writing the next paragraph
because I feel like it needs to have a word play
or a funny reference.
And when I'm researching,
I know that it's gonna be difficult
to actually find the scientific studies
that will back up what I'm trying to say.
But,
and this is where the whole low effort thing comes in,
what isn't difficult
is just writing what's on the top of my mind right now.
If I can't come up with a joke or a reference
that will make the segment I'm writing funnier,
that's fine.
I'll just write what's in my head right now
and I'll come back and make it funnier later.
And it's the exact same story when I'm referencing research.
If I really don't want to go find the exact source
or that one fact that I'm trying to reference,
then I won't.
In the script I'll put in brackets and all caps,
reference that one study and figure out where it came from,
and then I'll do that later.
Now doing this means that you're creating something
that you're gonna have to come back and fix later on.
But that's okay.
Remember the blank page is the enemy.
It's far easier
to come back and fix an imperfect mess later on,
then it is to create something perfect
from scratch on the first try.
That imperfect mess
gives you hand holds that you can grab onto.
Additionally,
another huge benefit of starting from a place of low effort,
is that sometimes
you just need a little bit of a warm up
to get yourself into a place
where you're really creative and in the zone.
Back when I was a teenager,
my dad had a weight training schedule for me and my brother.
We had to work out at least three times a week.
And sometimes I'd come down into the gym with him
and I'd say,
dad today is an off day,
I really just want to go light.
I'm not feeling it.
And I will never forget what he told me
on one of those occasions.
He said that sometimes you hit your PRs,
your personal records,
on off days.
And I'm actually not making this up,
this really did happen.
One of those days I came down to the basement,
I said dad,
it's an off day.
So he had me go through a longer than normal warm-up period
and on that day,
I actually hit a PR.
In fact I think it was actually 225,
which if you're a weightlifter
you know is two plates on each side of the bar,
and that was one of the mentally,
most difficult PRs for me to hit.
It took me a really long time to get.
So that should serve as an illustration.
Even if you feel like today is an off day,
just use that low effort hack
and put some time in.
There is a big difference
between your state of mind before you start working
and your state of mind once you're in the flow state.
Once you're emersed in your project.
The trick is just getting yourself there.
So one of the things I've been working on for a while now,
kind of behind the scenes,
is a brand new design for my website,
College Info Geek,
which is where you may have seen
some of the articles that go along with the videos I make.
Though,
I should probably say,
we've been working on a new design
because I'm just doing the visual design component of it.
All the actual code that's gonna run the site
is being written by my friend Martin,
whose also the co-host on my podcast.
And lately he's been working on ...
Well actually ...
Martin what are you working on?
- Do you want the one hour version
or the five hour version?
I guarantee you will not understand either one.
- Fair enough.
Though to be fair to myself,
I did do some of the code
that is live on the site right now.
And back when I was in college,
and couldn't afford to have anybody on my team,
I had to do all of the coding on my website.
It turns out
that learning to code
was actually a pretty good skill to pick up.
And luckily,
it's not something that's actually that difficult to learn.
And if you're interested in picking it up yourself,
you might want to check out
some of the basic web development courses
over on Skillshare.
If you're just starting out in this,
there's one called,
'Hand Coding Your First Website'

which goes in depth on the basics of HTML and CSS.
And there's another course by the same teacher
that's all about web layout,
which is also very important to learn.
And even if you're interested in something
besides web development,
Skillshare's library probably has something for you
because they've got over 19,000 courses

digital animation,
photography,
programming,

War Thunder. Crash Course: French Tanks - Duration: 3:59.
You can make the same mistakes time and time again, hoping that one day
quantity will finally turn into quality.
But why waste your time if you can just watch this video?
That's right, today we're returning with a new Crash Course
this time with the French flavour.
Just keep in mind that we will be speaking mostly about the most interesting (which means postwar) French vehicles.
Mistake number one:
you don't keep count of shells.
We suggest that you shouldn't engage an enemy if you have less than two rounds in the autoloader.
Why two?
First, hitting a target doesn't always mean that you'll be able to penetrate its armour.
Second, a lot of French vehicles depend pretty heavily on solid ammo that doesn't have much of an after-penetration effect.
Even if you penetrate enemy's defences, that doesn't necessarily mean that you will knock him out of the fight.
That's why you should have at least one extra shell.
As for charging an enemy tank without ammunition...well, you know what will happen.
Mistake number two: you rush into battle.
Most French vehicles are glass cannons.
A great rate of fire, decent mobility...and next to no armour.
The fact that you often have a good turret traverse speed and a powerful enough engine
doesn't mean that you should be in any hurry to to be a part of the advance guard.
In fact, you shouldn't — in many cases you won't even be able to take a single hit.
Keep your distance.
Mistake number three: you don't look for alternative routes.
The shortest way is often the most dangerous one.
which makes it almost completely unsuitable for the French.
They are some exceptions, of course: if you're into having more protection,
take a look at machines like the ARL-44 or the Jumbo.
These beauties can take some punishment, that's true.
But even the better-protected vehicles benefit from caution.
Don't get too cocky. If you can flank an enemy, do it.
If you can surprise your enemies with a sudden attack from the rear — even better.
Mistake number four.
You don't use the landscape to your advantage.
Peeking is one of the easiest ways to radically improve your chances of survival.
Just don't expose your turret for too long.
Ideally you should peek out of cover, land a shot, get behind cover
peek out, land ashot and hide again
All the while showing only the top of your turret.
The French ground vehicles, especially the ones belonging to the post-war era, are fairly demanding.
If you like to tank enemy shots and engage in CQC,
they probably won't make much sense to you.
But if you are fond of ambushes and cunning maneuvers these beauties can provide you with countless hours of fun.
See for yourself!
One last thing: it's okay to make mistakes.
The important part is to learn from them!

Jeep Wrangler Rugged Ridge 304 Stainless Exhaust Headers (1991-1998 4.0L YJ, TJ) Review & Install - Duration: 5:41.
This Rugged Ridge 304 stainless steel exhaust header is for those of you that have a 1991
to 1998 YJ or TJ with the 4.0 six-liter engine that are looking to change out your factory
exhaust manifold for a header that's made out of a very high-quality 304 stainless steel
that you're not going to have to worry about rusting out again.
Now, this is going to be a two-out-of-three wrench installation, probably going to take
you a couple of hours to get done.
It is a little bit involved.
If you're not comfortable doing this type of installation, you're definitely okay to
take your Jeep to a shop and have them do the install for you.
But, we'll talk more about the installation in just a second.
So, the big thing to note about this header is right in the title.
It is 304 stainless, which is the higher quality of stainless that you'll find in automotive
exhaust systems.
So, you're not going to have to worry about even any surface rust on this, let alone any
sort of oxidation or any rusting through that would happen if you had a mild steel or aluminized
steel system.
Even a 409 stainless system can get a little bit of oxidation on the surface.
This 304 is going to hold up very, very well in comparison to some of those other options.
Now, that does mean that this is going to be a little bit more expensive than some of
those other options.
This is going to be a kit that does not include your intake and exhaust gaskets, so you are
going to have to purchase that separately, and it's still going to be pricier than some
of those other kits out there that do include your gasket because of the materials that
this is made out of.
Now, this does also boast additional performance being that it will flow a little bit better,
but this isn't going to be something that's going to turn your Jeep into a race car all
of a sudden.
I wouldn't expect to get a ton of additional sound out of the exhaust with this either.
This is really going to be, in my opinion, a replacement to a rotted or cracked exhaust
manifold, and it's going to be a replacement that is a very high-quality material, so you
don't have to worry about it cracking or rusting anymore.
In addition to that, this is going to be mostly for those of you that are having a rusting
issue.
If you're having a cracking issue, chances are it's because of the vibration and the
heat that are underneath the engine bay of your Wrangler.
And in order to solve that problem, a lot of companies have gone to a header that has
a couple of pieces of flex built into it.
You'll have a couple of these runners here that are a flex material that helps to absorb
some of that vibration so you don't end up with cracking over and over again in the same
place.
I, myself, on my '98 TJ, with a 4.0, have replaced the manifold three or four times
now.
I don't even remember.
And that's not because they're rusting out, it is because they're cracking.
So, I've definitely gone with one that has a flex piping, and I would recommend that
for those of you that are having cracking issues, as well.
This is going to be for those of you that don't want to have to worry about any sort
of rusting issues.
So, the biggest thing to note is that this is 304 stainless, the highest grade of stainless
steel that you're going to find in automotive exhaust systems, and it's going to be a polished
system.
So, this is going to be, for a lot of us, is going to be the shiniest part that you're
going to have on your Wrangler.
It's a very nice-looking piece.
The most important thing about that 304 stainless is that it's not going to rust, so you're
going to have this header for a good long time.
As for the installation, again, two out of three wrenches, probably two, three hours
to get this installed.
If this isn't your first time installing these, you'll know what a pain they can be.
It's not something that requires any sort of major modification, it's just that it's
a little bit tight.
There's a couple of things you have to move in order to get your old manifold out of the
way and your new one installed.
On top of that, this gasket that is your exhaust manifold gasket is also shared by your intake
manifold gasket because those intake runners actually go right in between the exhaust here
on your straight six.
So, you're going to have to remove that intake, which requires removing a couple of sensors,
also removing the fuel line.
You can do it with the fuel line attached, but it's easier to remove it.
So, a couple of other things that you have to disassemble.
Once you have everything removed, so you have your intake manifold out of the way, you have
the old exhaust manifold out of the way, you have to get in there and scrape your old gasket
material out of the way, put in your new gasket, that is sold separately, in place, and then
go ahead and get everything bolted back up.
Now, that's the process assuming that you don't have any issues with any rusted-in bolts
or break any bolts off in the head because, of course, that is a whole other story.
So, when you're working on these older vehicles, especially working on exhaust systems, they
can be a little bit of a challenge.
If this isn't something you want to tackle yourself, it's completely okay to take your
Jeep to a shop and have them do it.
But if you want to do it in your driveway, just make sure you bring your patience, have
the proper tools handy, which is really just a socket set and some hand tools, and take
your time with the install.
This header's going to come in at right around $335.
This is going to be more expensive than a lot of the other headers that you'll find
on the market.
Like I said before, you can find a steel header that has those flex pieces of pipe built into
it to eliminate cracking due to vibration.
Also, will come with additional hardware and your gaskets for half of what this costs or
even less.
This is definitely going to be more expensive because it is this polished 304 stainless.
If that's what you're looking for, I think it's a great piece.
If you're just looking for something to replace your cracked manifold that is not going to
crack due to vibration and heat, you can get a very complete kit for less than this.
So, if you're looking for an exhaust header made of a very high-quality 304 stainless
to replace a rusted one on your YJ or TJ, I would definitely recommend taking a look
at this option here from Rugged Ridge, and you can find it right here at extremeterrain.com.

Donald Finds All The Border Wall Money, Leaving Mexico In .......... - Duration: 3:20.
Donald Finds All The Border Wall Money, Leaving Mexico In Shambles.
President Donald Trump has been in office for a little more than a year, and we are
all still patiently waiting for substantive progress to be made on a border wall between
the United States and Mexico.
It hasn't been for lack of trying on the part of the commander-in-chief.
His office remains open for business, but the obstructionists on the Left simply refuse
to play ball and focus on the actual needs of our nation as a whole.
That being the case, it can make it seem like a wall is never going to happen.
However, there is a way that it could easily happen – and be paid for to boot.
A simple Trump maneuver could quickly pay for the entire $18 billion border wall and
send Mexico into the meltdown of all time!
The New York Post explains.
Mexico won't have to pay for the wall, after all.
US taxpayers won't have to pick up the tab, either.
The controversial barrier, rather, will cover its own cost just by closing the border to
illegal immigrants who tend to go on the federal dole.
That's the finding of recent immigration studies showing the $18 billion wall President
Trump plans to build along the southern border will pay for itself by curbing the importation
of not only crime and drugs, but poverty.
"The wall could pay for itself even if it only modestly reduced illegal crossings and
drug smuggling," Steven A. Camarota, director of research at the Center for Immigration
Studies, told The Post.
This isn't a mere pie in the sky dream from Camarota either.
He comes to the table fully equipped with facts that outline his case, and he exposes
the outright absurdity of not having a wall in place while doing so.
Absent a wall, the Homeland Security Department forecasts an additional 1.7 million illegal
crossings at the US-Mexico border over the next decade.
If a wall stopped just 200,000 of those future crossings, Camarota says, it would pay for
itself in fiscal savings from welfare, public education, refundable tax credits and other
benefits currently given to low-income, illegal immigrants from Mexico and Central America.
If a wall stopped 50 percent of those expected crossings, he says, it would save American
taxpayers a whopping $64 billion — almost four times the wall's cost — to say nothing
of the additional billions in federal savings from reduced federal drug interdiction and
border-security enforcement.
Is a border wall going to magically solve all of our nation's problems?
Of course not, and it would be foolish to think that it would.
That said, it would cut down on a whole lot of the more serious ones our nation faces
as a whole, and that would result in even more savings for American taxpayers.
Camarota has outlined an excellent case for why it needs to happen and how we can get
there.
Good luck to the spin-meisters in the liberal echo chamber as they continue to attempt to
portray it as if it would somehow be a bad thing.

homemade hair oil for hair growth#hair fall#shiny hair#damaged#long hair - Duration: 3:44.
guys this hair mask is for the solution of every hair problem you have
and I promise this will actually help all the hair problems you have for this
hair mask you would need only two ingredients which are very easily available and one
is desi ghee which is called clarified butter
those who are from Asia they might know what is desi ghee but those who are
from I think Western countries they might not have an idea of desi ghee but
it's a clarified butter in which the water of butter has been
evaporated by giving it heat so it is converted into a sort of clarified
butter with no water in it and the second ingredients are almods but for
this hair oil what you have to do you would need almost 1 liter of desi ghee
or clarified butter and you would need almost two handful of almonds for this
hair oil what you have to do you have to first put the desighee or clarified
butter in a small pan and you have to heat it once it is heated you have to
add all the almonds in it and let them cook till they turn into black
once it becomes hot all you have to do if you have to lower the temperature to
the slow slow heat and put it from the stove and make
it cool down if you let it cool down for a long time
on room temperature it will become solidify so you have to wait for just
wait for some time that it should not be that hot that you cannot handle and
transfer into some jar any jar which is available and whenever you
want to apply this hair oil on your hair what you have to do we have to take
either two or three TSP butter a tablespoon depends on the length of your
hair make it warm in a microwave or either on a stove
apply gently on all over your head and then wrap your hair with a hot towel let
it set at this hair oil almost for two hours or overnight it depends upon you
and then wash it with your regular shampoo and conditioner but always
remember wash your hair with a warm water because desi ghee or purified
butter will not go off from your hair how this masks work on your hair actually desi ghee
is a great source of antioxidants and it has omega-3 fatty acids so it works as
an excellent natural conditioner for dry and frizzy hair it also treats your
split ends and because of its properties it works it prevents dandruff and
because it has lots of vitamins and minerals and because of that it also
gives you a silky and shiny hair desighee is also prevents
hair from premature greying use this treatment twice a week and you will see
the result and tell me in a comment down below if you have any problem or if you
have tried and what was the result on your hair when you have tried so if you

The Loneliness of Your Late 20s - Duration: 6:05.
- Hello hello hello my friends, Kaitlyn here.
And let's talk about loneliness.
Uh, Kaitlyn, that sounds like
quite a bummer of a video topic.
Uh well, it's truth.
What do you want me to give you?
Lies about happiness and fulfillment?
(upbeat electronic music)
All right, all right, all right, for reals,
I am not trying to be all super negative or anything.
There is power to positive thought, you know.
But I have some observations about late 20s life
as acquired by my time here on this earth.
So I've always been a pretty lonely person.
I've had a hard time making friends
for as long as I can remember.
I had a bad spell through grade school
where I would connect with a person
and feel like I'd finally found a best friend,
but after a period of time they'd eventually disengage.
They'd find a new friend or friend group
and we'd still be friends, but essentially
I'd end up with a whole bunch of acquaintances.
I was a staple person in several friend groups.
People cared about me, but just not quite enough
for me to feel like we truly connected in a meaningful way.
And from my perspective, being an introvert
who was especially shy as a child and teen,
and who has dealt with sometimes
debilitating social anxiety,
I didn't know how to come at it from my side
to foster deeper friendships and relationships.
If someone showed interest in me
and I began to trust them, then I would pour myself
into the friendship, but there was a very distinct line
that had to be crossed before I would be able to
go into that kind of friendship level with anyone.
Unfortunately, these experiences made me pretty
distrustful of people, and kind of assumed that no one
really wanted to hang out with me or be my friend.
I'm too weird or independent.
And in high school, I definitely felt like
I was too much of a goody-two shoes.
Now in college, between finally coming out of my shell a bit
but also making some concentrated efforts at friendship,
I finally made some friends, yay! (laughing)
People who I had meaningful experiences
and conversations with, people who I'm
still friends with today.
But, the last couple of years as I've been transitioning
into the late 20s, almost 30s era of my life,
I find myself kind of lonely again.
Like I still have all these friends I made in college,
and some even from high school,
but as you get older, your lives start to diverge.
Most of them are married now.
Many of them have kids or kids on the way.
We just have vastly different careers and lives now.
It's like we were all kind of on the same train for a while,
but one day I looked up, and realized
that we were on different trains, on different tracks
going at different speeds in different directions.
So your late 20s can end up being lonely
even when you're surrounded by friends.
It's a lot harder to truly connect
with people you've been friends with,
because your lives are so different now.
It takes a lot of time and effort,
and sometimes one or both of you don't have it to spare.
It's also a lot harder to make new friends
because well, at this point, let's be honest,
most of us are kind of set in our ways.
So it's difficult to figure out
who's on a similar life train,
and would make for a more effortless friendship.
But I should point out that friendship,
like any relationship, is never going to be effortless
if it's going to be successful,
and you're lying to yourself if you think that.
So basically this is the kind of stuff
I've been thinking about recently.
Having my romantic relationship end,
has really made me take a closer look
at how all the relationships in my life are faring.
When you're dating someone, it can be so all-encompassing
that it's easy to not realize how you
and your friends' lives are diverging with time and age.
That's kind of been the tough part
for me with this break-up.
Like waking up and suddenly realizing;
Oh almost all my friends are married.
And you know before, when I was in a relationship,
then we would hang out together as couples
and that made sense, but as a single person,
you kind of end up feeling like leper or a third wheel,
or something like that, they don't make you feel that way,
they're not saying that at all.
But you're uncoupled life, doesn't really fit
quite as easily with your married friends anymore.
Don't get me wrong, I love all of my married friends,
and I so enjoy spending time with them,
and just like, great time of community.
But I will say that there's a special kind of friendship
that people who are married or couples have.
Or people who have kids, or even people who have dogs.
And to be totally, totally honest,
sometimes I feel like I was on that same train with them,
like the train that was working towards marriage,
and then I got ejected and so I
nor any of my married friends really know how to like,
how do we deal with this?
How do I integrate back into their lives
without a boyfriend, when they've always known me with one?
So yeah, moral of the story is that adulthood is lonely.
But not to be a Debby-Downer,
I don't think that all of adulthood is lonely.
I just think we just have to be more creative
and invested in our relationships.
And you know, kind of understand
that our trains do diverge and that's okay.
We can have long distance train relationships
friendships with people too.
And it's okay if we're in different parts of our lives.
For the question today, I want to know how you make friends.
Are you hopelessly bad at it like me?
Or are you like super go-getter,
like everyone is your friend?
I love people like that, I want to be like you.
I don't know how, but you're great.
Tell me some of your friend-making stories
down in the comments.
Plus remember to check me out
on these other social media sites.

do me a favor and subscribe and hit that notification bell
so that you know the moment that there is a new video.
And I will see you guys next Thursday, bye.
