Hey everyone!
Dana here with a hashtag...um...what did I say I was going to call it today?
Ask Dana Fragen.
With a hashtag Ask Dana Fragen video.
Formerly known as #FragDana, formerly known before that as #AskDana.
Let's see how long I can keep this game up for.
I'm so excited about this series.
So let's jump right into it then.
Himbiii asks: Hey Dana. Hey Himbiii. Do you speak Czech?
Ah, so your question is: Mluvíte česky?
Ah that's one of the only things I know how to say in Czech.
And my answer is...and my answer is: mluvím česky není dobře.
I hope that's right.
It's been a while since I lived in Prague.
When I did live in Prague I did study Czech and I did learn enough to be able to sort
of get around the city.
But now it's been like 8 years since I lived there and my Czech is so bad.
But when Stefan and I went to Prague a few months ago I did really feel the Czech, like, coming
back to me quite quickly.
So nemluvím česky, but I do know a little bit.
Is there actually some reason why you draw this or that on your danke drawings or is
it just random?
So the danke drawings are the little drawings that I have at the end of a lot of the more
recent videos.
And those are to thank our patrons on Patreon.
What I draw for those...yeah, sometimes it's random.
But sometimes I do try to tailor it to the video.
In the video talking about the supermarket I think I had a fish carrying a shopping bag.
But sometimes it's just, I sit down and I just draw something weird.
Whatever comes into my head.
Dana Osgood...I'm guessing that it's "Dana" and not "Dana."
I'm guessing that it's "Dana." Dana Osgood asks: Can you please talk about
catcalling and what walking down the street in German cities, versus American cities is like?
I know catcalling and harassment is a huge problem in the states, in the point of view
of a New Yorker.
Thank you so much.
Growing up in South Florida, I definitely experienced catcalling.
I would say from the time that I was like 14 or 15 when I would go with my friends for
a walk down the street we experienced catcalling and it was definitely something that we noticed
and that we talked about.
But then I moved to Europe, first to Prague and now here in Germany, and after you asked
this question I really thought about it and, yeah, I don't think that I have ever been
catcalled while living in Prague or living here in Munich.
I don't think I've ever been catcalled in Germany.
And I would love to hear from other people, though: how have you experienced it; catcalling
in Germany, the USA or anywhere else around the world?
Yeah, please let me know in the comments.
But in Germany so far I haven't experienced catcalling.
Connie Mack asks: my question is about doing laundry in Germany.
It seems when I've seen images or videos of apartments there, there is a washing machine
only, in the kitchen or even bathroom, and sometimes not even that.
Or do they have building laundromats as in the U.S.?
Do you have to hang your clothes to dry them? Okay, so, yes, we only have a washing machine.
We don't have a dryer.
And in this apartment our washing machine is in the bathroom, but in another apartment
that we had in Germany, our washing machine was not in the apartment.
It was downstairs in the basement.
There was an area there where people could put their washing machine.
It was still our washing machine.
But we could put it down there in this one particular area of the basement of the apartment
building. And, yeah, sometimes it is also in the kitchen.
I've seen that at someone of my friend's houses, at some of my friend's apartments.
And do you hang your clothes to dry them? Yes, we do.
Zoë T asks: why did you change it to Frag?
Very good question Zoë.
Yes, why did I change it to...from Frag Dana...from Ask Dana to Frag Dana.
Um, yeah, I thought maybe it would be cool to have it in German.
And then after I changed it once I was like, hey this would be fun.
Let's see how long I can keep it up, changing it every time.
So yeah, let's see how long I can keep it up. I don't know.
Maybe eventually I'll just pick one.
Vanilla ice cream or chocolate ice cream? That seems like it would be an easy question.
But it's not.
I like vanilla ice cream, unless the chocolate ice cream is really, really good.
Then I like chocolate ice cream.
Keith Duncan asks... Hi Keith! Hi! You've been watching the videos for so long!
I think since the very being, right? I've been seeing your comments. Thank you so much! Hi Keith!
Ah, his question is: Have you been to...
Oh my gosh, I have so much trouble saying the name of this place.
Have you been to...this place -- Berchtesgaden -- yet?
I have not.
I have not, but Stefan... - That is such a lie! - I have been! I have been. I'm sorry. Yeah.
Well, but, Keith goes on to say that we should go into the salt mines, which we have not done.
So I have been to this place that I cannot pronounce, but we did not going into the...
did you just sneeze? Gesundheit.
So: yes, Stefan and I have been to this place that I cannot say.
We did not go into the salt mine, though.
So thank you very much for the tip.
And we haven't been to Bamberg yet.
And I don't know when we're going to go, but thank you so much for the tip.
I will put that on my list of places that we need to go in Germany.
Luca, The Channel asks: What place in Germany is your favorite, and what is a place in Germany
that you haven't gone to that you want to go to?
I don't think I have a favorite place.
Like, I like a lot of the places that I've gone to. I don't think I can pick a favorite. Oh!
What's that town that we went to?
That we stopped at and we made the video for Patreon? - No idea.
I liked that one a lot.
Although I can't remember the name so I guess it's...must not be a favorite. But I really liked it.
Didn't it begin with an L?
But as far as a place in Germany that I haven't been to that I really want to go to, that
would be Trier.
I really, really, really, really want to go to Trier.
Alright! That's it for today. Thank you so much for watching.
I hope that you enjoyed this #AskDanaFragen video.

And yeah...oh!
So my question for you is...oh, I didn't prepare a question.
What are your answers to some of these questions?
I guess that's going to be my question for every one of these videos.
I'm not sure. Please let me know in the comments below. Thanks so much for watching.

Until next time, auf Wiedersehen!
I like that dogs seem to be welcome in a lot of different places.
Like I see dogs sometimes in stores, and it just seems to be quite a dog friendly place,
at least here in Munich.
Yeah, I would say not so much...I don't know.
