This Omix-ADA Brake Drum Service Kit is for those of you that have a 1990 to 2006 Wrangler
that are looking to refresh the brakes on your Dana 35 rear axle.
If you have a '90 to 2006 Wrangler that doesn't have a Dana 35 rear axle, this kit is not
for you.
This is just for those of you with that Dana 35 in the back.
This kit is going to be a pretty easy install replacing a lotta factory components.
I'm going to give it a one out of three wrench installation, and you can probably get this
done in about two hours or less, but that does depend on how many times you've done
drum brakes.
Disc brakes are a lot easier to swap out.
These, while they're not, per se, a technically difficult installation, they do have a lot
of springs and pins and different pieces that all have to get taken apart and go back together
in exactly the same way.
So, again, if you're not comfortable, if you haven't had a lot of experience, do one side
at a time so you have another side to reference.
Take some pictures, take your time, and you're gonna be fine getting this install done.
And, we'll talk a little bit more about the installation in just a second.
Now, this kit overall is going to be very, very complete.
Of course, you have your brand new brake drums, you have your brand new shoes, and you're
also going to have all of your hardware, which I don't have on the table here.
And, the hardware kit that is included in this setup here is going to be more comprehensive
than even a lot of the hardware kits that you would get at your local auto parts store.
This is going to come with emergency brake cables.
This is going to come with new adjusters, new automatic tension adjusters on the inside
of the brakes, so, really, everything that you need, including all of your springs and
pins.
So, a very complete kit.
At the price that this kit is, it's gonna be a pretty good deal.
It's not going to be a steal, but, for something that is a one-stop shop, includes everything,
including a very comprehensive hardware kit and everything else that you need to completely
refresh your brakes and make sure they're working 100%, I do think that this is gonna
be a pretty fairly priced kit.
As far as construction goes, there's not too much to say about this kit.
It is designed to completely and directly replace those factory components.
So, again, everything from the drums, to the shoes, to the hardware is gonna be included.
It's all going to bolt right into that Dana 35 for a nice, easy install.
So, as for that installation, one outta three wrenches again.
Maybe two hours or less, depending on how many times you've done drum brakes.
The first step is, of course, removing the tire, remove the factory drum.
Then, you're gonna go ahead and remove all the clips and springs that hold the shoes
into place, basically stripping everything out except for that brake cylinder itself.
From there, you'll go ahead and install your new shoes with all of the new springs and
other components, put your drums back on.
Go ahead and put the tire back on as well, and then make your adjustments through the
back of the brake plate to make sure that these are set up exactly how they need to
be before you take them down the road.
Like I said, I do think this kit's gonna be a pretty fair price.
It is very comprehensive.
It's very complete, and it's a nice, easy, one-stop shop, instead of having to piece
something together, here's my hardware, here are my drums, here are my shoes.
This is just one very easy-to-purchase kit that comes in at just under $200.
So, for what you're getting, pretty good deal.
It's definitely going to get the job done replacing and refreshing those brakes.
So, if you're looking to refresh the rear drum brakes on your Dana 35 axle on your 1990
to '06 Wrangler, I definitely recommend taking a look at this kit from Omix-ADA, and you
can find it right here at extremeterrain.com.
