Tip To Rank Your YouTube Videos - Duration: 1:41.

So how do you get more people to watch your YouTube videos?

Now, asides from making really good videos that people want to engage with, from the

start to the end.

What are other ways you can do to get more people to watch your videos?

Remember that YouTube is in fact a search engine and you want to use every opportunity

to rank your videos on YouTube and on Google search engine.

So today, my tip for you is to use subtitles.

To upload subtitles in your YouTube videos.

YouTube in fact has an auto-captions function, whereby all you have to do is to upload your

video, and it would auto generate subtitles for your video.

But with an accent like mine, or a speech like mine, normally the results are quite

terrible and funny.

And that is why you want to upload your own subtitles into your videos.

So let me show you how to do this.

To do this, simply edit your video, go into transcriptions, click on add language, choose

a language and then click on add subtitles.

Here, choose to upload a text file.

Now YouTube is so powerful, that all you really need is to add a text file and it will auto-sync

your subtitles to the timeline.

And that is it.

Give your video a refresh and check to see that the subtitles are properly placed in.

Now doing this, would immensely help the user experience of your video and more importantly,

it will help YouTube and Google understand what your video is about because of your subtitles.

So, let me know if you have tried this.

I'd love to hear from you and your results.

Review of Read & Write for iPad - Duration: 9:09.

Hey everyone it's Jeff and I am here to review something called Read & Write for iPad. It's a digital tool that provides

support for individuals who benefit from having written text read out loud.

It also has a spell check feature, a dictionary with words and pictures, and word prediction feature for when you are typing something out.

It's free for a 30-day trial on the App Store. After 30 days you have to pay for a subscription of $20 a month or else you lose all of the premium features.

When you download it, it installs an extra keyboard on your iPad and you can see that if you go into Settings, under General,

if you look at Keyboard, um at the top there you can see I have 3 keyboards actually on this iPad. The first 2 listed there are standard keyboards

that are part of the operating system of the iPad. The third one is the Read & Write keyboard, which is the one that we want and we just installed by

downloading the program. Uh, you have to allow Full Access in order to enjoy all of the features and you'll get this kind of a warning message

when you initiate that, to tell you that Full Access actually means that you're giving the developer of Read & Write full access to every bit of information

you type on the keyboard and everything that you've ever typed on the keyboard. If you have kids that use it, all of your kids' information will also get sent to the developer.

Which is a little disturbing to me in terms of privacy, but I'm going to go ahead and allow it for now.

Now on your iPad home screen you will get the Read & Write icon; if you click on that, you get a control panel that allows you to customize the keyboard

that we will take a look at in just a second. Now I'll go through these, these items that you can customize.. Highlight Vowels just makes the vowel letters

a different color on the keyboard to help you distinguish between them and the consonants. OpenDyslexic Font puts all of the letters of the keyboard into a

special font that is supposed to help people with dyslexia distinguish letters and type with greater ease.

Actually I have that turned off for the moment. I'll turn that on in a couple seconds here. Theme is you can just change the colors

of your keyboard. Keyboard Clicks allows the keys to click as you type them. Speak As I Type allows the program to read out loud each word as you type it.

Continuous Reading allows the program to read through an entire paragraph without stopping after each sentence.

Speak Suggestion is part of the word prediction feature, it allows the program to speak out loud each word that shows up as a predicted or suggested word

when you're typing. Swipe To Insert is also part of that word prediction feature, and it allows you to swipe one of the predicted words and have that word

inserted into the sentence you are writing. Predict Ahead is just the basic word prediction feature and then that stuff at the bottom is a way to, um,

link up your account with a Google ID or a product number. So let's take a look at the keyboard and put it to use.

You can use it, um, on any application that requires a keyboard like text messaging, um Google searches, writing in documents.

I find that it works really well under Notes, so I am going to write myself a note here... as I start to type a keyboard pops up.

This keyboard is actually the standard keyboard that comes with iPad. We want to switch to the Read & Write keyboard

and the way that you switch between keyboards is you push that little globe symbol down at the bottom on the left hand side

if you push it you get a pop up menu that lets you choose which keyboard you want. I am going to choose the Read & Write keyboard.

And there it is. You can see the vowels are highlighted, um, and as I start to type a note to myself, you can see that the word prediction feature

has kicked in and is offering me all of these suggestions, from Donald to Dow to Don't. The word I want is Don't (computer says, "Don't")

but I can touch any of these words (computer says "Donald" and "Dominican) and it will read them to me.

So I can figure out which word it is that I want if I'm not sure, you know, how to spell it or what it looks like.

So I'm gonna say (computer says, "Don't) and I have to swipe that to get it to put into the text (computer says, "Don't)

and the next word I want is (computer says "forget") and I'll have to swipe that (computer says "forget") and it puts it into the text

so it saves me some key strikes, key strokes (computer says, "to.. feed.. the..") and if I put a period at the end of the sentence it will read

the entire sentence to me (computer says, "Don't forget to feed the cat.") I can also get it to read the sentence if I push that white triangle that's on

the purple suggestion banner, (Computer says, "Don't forget to feed the cat.") which is a really nice way, um , to see the sentence itself

highlighted and the words highlighted as they're being read, (Computer says, "Don't forget to feed the cat.") so that the reader can follow along and

and know that the word being spoken looks the way that it does in, in, uh, in the text. Something else that you can do is you have Edit Settings here

which allows you to increase or decrease the speed of the voice. You can also change the sound of the voice so that it's male or female,

or, um, you can have an accent if you want. There's a neat feature that's the Spell Check.

And I'm gonna intentionally misspell "cat," I'll put an extra "T" there. You get to the Spell Check

um, in those 3 dots just to the right of the white triangle on the, on the banner.. if you do the check ABC, uh, it highlights that "cat" was misspelled.

I'll change that back. (Computer says, "Don't forget to feed the cat.") And you can also look up in the dictionary the word "cat."

Wherever the cursor is, whatever word it's next to, that's the word that will be looked up in the dictionary.

So it's next to "cat" and that's the word that's looked up, um, it gives you written definitions and a couple pictures.

Unfortunately, there's no way to get the program to read out loud any of these written definitions which is kind of a flaw, to me, um in a program that's

focused on text to speech. Something else that you can do, if you go to a website and there's a lot of text

in the website, and you want that text read to you, um, the program won't read it within the website, but you can highlight the text that you want read

and you can copy it back to your Notes, as I've already done, and if you put the cursor at the beginning of the paragraph, and hit the white triangle...

(computer says, "The cat or domestic cat is a small carnivorous mammal. It is the only domesticated species in the family Felidae.")

So there is a way to get it to read text from a website, you just have to go through some steps to cut and paste it into your, into your notepad.

Um, I wanted to show you, we're going to look up the definition of "carnivorous" in the dictionary and there's the written definitions and then it shows you

this funny little picture that, um, it's a quirky program, some of the pictures are a bit goofy, I think. I'm not sure a child would understand

"carnivorous" based on that picture, but maybe. Um, the other thing I wanted to show you... if you take a look: that's the keyboard without the dyslexic

font. Now I'm gonna turn that feature on, so now we'll see it with the dyslexic font. And what it does is it increases the thickness of some of the lines in

the letters, and it's supposed to, um, enhance the ability of a person with dyslexia to distinguish between the letters.

So overall, I guess I would give it a B+, I like the text to speech features and the word prediction with spell check and dictionary. It would be better

if the dictionary allowed for the user to hear a definition read out loud, uh, it would also be nice if it could read text within a website instead of

having to copy the text into Notes. What I dislike the most is the privacy issue, and the idea that when I or my children use the keyboard

all of our information gets sent to the developer. I would prefer a text to speech program that is not so nosey.

But again, it is free for a 30 day trial on the App Store, so maybe you wanna give it a try for yourself and see what you think.
