Youtube daily Mar 14 2018

It's been nearly 7 years since a mainline Kirby game has appeared on a Nintendo console.

Return to Dream Land marked something of a turnaround for the pink puffball, showing

the potential of Kirby's gameplay formula that could not only celebrate the past but

mix things up enough that they felt fresh.

And with Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot taking the series to new heights on the 3DS,

it feels like it's all come full circle now that Kirby Star Allies is releasing on

the Switch.

The question is, does this Kirby adventure change things enough to keep fans coming back

or has this formula become a bit stale?

The story of Star Allies is about what you'd expect.

A new enemy threatens Popstar by showering it with dark hearts which corrupt any who

encounter them.

Kirby sleeps through the whole event and wakes up to find Dedede stealing all the food in

Dream Land.

Setting out to stop him, Kirby eventually discovers the greater crisis and attempts

to set things right.

Now while there are some fun surprises to be seen, it never quite matches the ideas

in Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot.

This time around, the big new gimmick is that Kirby can toss Friend Hearts at certain enemies

and they will join his team, helping to solve puzzles and fight anything that comes your

way.

It leads to a lot of variety and choices as there are plenty of these friends to interact

with, and they possess the full set of moves that Kirby does when using their power.

In fact, some specific allies have even more moves than Kirby with that Ability, such as

Chef Kawasaki.

The concept is taken a step further thanks to the idea of combining powers such as Fire

and Sword or Lightning and the new Staff or even Fighting being able to toss friends around

the stage.

Experimenting with the different possibilities is naturally fun.

By all accounts, this should have led to a complete homerun.

One of the things I loved about Planet Robobot was how the Armor was integrated into the

levels.

It felt like an extension of Kirby's abilities rather than just a bonus for a portion of

the gameplay.

It always introduced something new.

Combining abilities had the potential to do just that.

And for a large portion of the game, it does.

But eventually, I felt like I had seen all the game's tricks.

I knew that elemental powers would combine with weapon abilities to slightly change up

the properties of attacks, that certain abilities only had a few choices to merge with, and

some were only modestly powered-up.

Even the four person Friend Abilities didn't mix it up that much.

Friend Circle and Friend Train both have you barreling through enemies, but Friend Circle

focuses more on platforming while Friend Train messes with your head somewhat with how it

can climb walls.

Friend Bridge is mostly used for puzzles, and Friend Star turns the game into a kind

of shooter and is probably the best of this set.

I knew what to expect from all of them very quickly.

And that in itself is not bad.

The familiarity ensured that I knew what to do at all times.

The problem was that the game felt like it ran out of ideas for what do with these powers.

I was still having fun.

It just wasn't exciting me in same way that past Kirby games had.

And part of that is because there's just less to explore in levels this time around.

Throughout Star Allies' 40 levels, there's only one or two items to actually discover.

It's either a large puzzle piece or a secret switch that immediately grants access to an

extra stage.

And a lot of times, they're extremely simple to find or the solution to reaching them doesn't

take any real thought at all.

There are exceptions, but the exploration just felt weak this time around.

A major highlight, however, was the bosses.

There are so many in this game, ranging from original ideas to returning favorites to variations

on ones you've already fought.

Each one was lot of fun to fight although admittedly some went down pretty quickly.

But that kind of tied in to an idea of the combinations that I really enjoyed.

Enemies were affected by different elements.

If one's on fire, then water or ice will quickly defeat it.

It one's in water, then electricity or ice could be the key.

It's a basic idea, but it's implemented really well, especially in boss fights where

working together with this idea could make them especially satisfying.

And working together is key.

The game is perfectly playable in single player.

The AI is really smart and can help you out in pinches.

They even pick up on contexts when puzzles need to be solved.

But the problem with that is it makes an already easy game, even easier.

Star Allies is one of the least challenging games in the series with only one extra mode

really offering anything in terms of real difficulty.

Now this isn't a bad thing to me.

Kirby games are meant to be simple, but the addition of CPUs during single player makes

an easy series even less difficult.

Now you don't need to keep them around for a good portion of the game, but if you didn't,

you would be missing out on what makes it unique and fun in the first place.

That's why the multiplayer is where I had the most fun.

It's great couch co-op where you tear through levels with friends and figure out the best

way to take down bosses.

The game is still pretty easy, but rather than the CPU knowing exactly what to do, you

have to talk it out with friends.

Even the extra modes are just a little more enjoyable when you have people with you.

It's not essential, but you can tell that this is how it was meant to be played.

The mini-games Chop Champs and Star Slam Heroes are fine when you try to beat your own score,

but even just that small additional competitive element with friends made them stand out that

much more.

Two more modes are unlocked once you complete the five to six hour campaign, and they should

be familiar to anyone who's played the 3DS games.

One has you take control of any ally as you play through a truncated version of the game

with its own unique final boss.

There's less health items, but it's not that much more difficult than the main campaign.

There is some replayability though as it keeps track of your time beating it with each Friend,

including the Dream Friends that you can unlock.

The other mode is where you'll find the greatest challenge as this new take on the

Arena allows you to adjust the difficulty.

And though it starts out simple, the final difficulty is where I was absolutely challenged

the most as I've yet to actually beat it.

I got close in multiplayer, but alone, it felt especially rough.

Star Allies looks incredible.

There are levels in this game that pop with color and style.

While none of the themes are especially unique, they are good takes on classic concepts.

And naturally, it still looks great in handheld mode.

But my favorite part of the style was actually the World Maps.

Each World had its own style and really showed the progression in just how much of a threat

this new enemy was, starting with Dream Land then all of Popstar and eventually the galaxy.

It was a more understated style of storytelling through gameplay that I enjoyed.

Now some have taken issue with the fact that Star Allies only runs at 30fps.

And while that is disappointing, I never felt like it took away from the experience.

Granted, I'm a person who has trouble telling the difference between 30 and 60 unless it's

side-by-side so your attunement to this may affect your enjoyment.

The music is also outstanding.

There are great new tunes, new remixes, callbacks, and just a style that Kirby absolutely nails.

It's a little more atmospheric than past Kirby games, but it works and still knows

when to pump up the excitement.

Star Allies also has a wonderful moment involving the HD Rumble, but I'll let you discover

that for yourself.

Kirby Star Allies is a solid entry in the Kirby franchise, but it's also the first

real sign that this formula that began with Return to Dream Land is starting to show its

age.

The ideas presented here are a lot of fun, especially in the beginning, and the game

itself will charm the heck out of you.

Newcomers with an interest are very likely to enjoy it, but those of us who have been

with Kirby for a while have seen most of these tricks before, and done better.

I really do like the game, and if you're like me, you'll get a kick out of what's

here.

But it's probably time for the next game to introduce a new formula to build off of.

Is There A Difference Between MEAT & ANIMALS? | American in Germany - Duration: 6:42.

Cows versus beef. Pigs versus pork. Deer versus venison.

Hey everyone, Dana here!

From my experience growing up in the U.S. and now living the past 8 years in Germany

I've gotten the feeling that the relationship toward meat and animals can be a little different

in the two places.

I would really love to hear other people's experience with this down in the comments,

but for me growing up in the U.S. it was a little bit like: animals were animals and

meat was meat, and the two things were kind of separate.

As I mentioned in the intro, the English language often has two different names for the animal

and the food, and I feel like this might have played a role in the process of separating

the two things from each other.

I could never imagine saying in English, like, let's eat some pig for dinner or I am really

craving some cow tonight.

No, we say pork and beef and veal and mutton and venison.

Although poultry is the same for both, you've got chicken, duck and goose, which are both

the animals and the food.

The animal is chicken and the food is chicken.

So for those ones it is the same.

As a kid pigs and cows and sheep were the things that talked in cartoons and the stuffed

animals that I had laying, really, all around the house, not the food that I ate.

Pigs and cows and sheep were animals, pork and beef and mutton was meat.

So really, from a very young age there was that separation there between animals and meat.

But German does not seem to do that.

In German Schwein is pig and Schwein is pork.

Rind is beef and Rind is a male cow.

The same words are used for the animal and the meat from that animal.

The French language influence in England led to this linguistic split over time.

English ended up with the words beef and pork and mutton coming from that French influence

in addition to the words cow and pig and sheep.

Perhaps that has led to people -- or at least it looks like me -- growing up with this kind

of separation between the animal and the meat.

But I would say that it's not just the language that has played a role in this separation.

But also some differences in the way that things are done in the two countries.

As I mentioned in this video here, in the U.S. the eggs in the supermarket are kept

in the refrigerated section of the store, while in Germany they are usually just out

in the aisle not kept cold.

And that was pretty shocking for me when I first saw that, but not as shocking as the

first time that I brought a carton of German eggs home, opened it up and found a feather

on one of the eggs.

What is this feather doing here? I can remember asking Stefan.

It really, really caught me off guard to see a feather on the egg.

I had never seen that before because in the U.S. the eggs are washed off when they're

processed, which is why in the U.S. they need to be refrigerated.

Of course, of course in the U.S. I knew where eggs came from and I knew that feathers were

involved in the whole process but I had just never experienced confronting it like that

when getting out some eggs to make an omelette; discovering something on the egg, transferred

from the hen to the egg, a feather.

I had just never seen that in the U.S.

Now I'm not saying that this is a good thing.

I'm just saying that this seems to be a thing.

Actually it would probably be a lot better if I had a healthy relationship with the fact that

meat -- pork and beef -- is the animal.

Not thinking of those two things as separate things.

Because they're not, and we really shouldn't forget that. Yeah.

That seems like a really dangerous thing to forget that pork and beef are pigs and cows.

I definitely think that it is important for me to work to change this way of thinking in myself.

Although I'm not really sure how to go about doing that since I feel like this is a concept

that has been ingrained in my mind over many, many years.

But I do think that this is an important thing for me to keep thinking about.

So my question for you is: Do you think that language has influenced your relationship

to animals versus meat?

And what has been your experience with all of this?

Please let me know in the comments below.

Blazed Book Reviews: Kate Spencer Is In The Dead Moms Club - Duration: 5:26.

- [Voice] Ga deesh!

- Mahalo, book nerds.

My name is Jon Gabrus,

but please call me Gabrus.

And this is Blazed Book Reviews.

(classical music and bong rip)

Joining me today on BBR is author Kate Spencer.

She wrote a book called Dead Moms Club.

Now Kate, as someone who has a dead dad,

should I not have read this book?

'Cause I got sad at times.

- I think the concept of grief is universal.

So if you have a dead anybody or even if you've just

experienced any sort of sadness, you can read it.

- Cause I laughed at times too.

- Good - And then I felt like a sicko.

Laughin's at dead people.

- It's not making fun of dead people.

It's kind of finding the humor in our most sad moments.

Which I'm sure you probably

- Whoa, sorry this one's laced.

Someone's trying to kill me like Walter White.

It's ricin.

- That sounds like you might just be high

and feeling paranoid.

- You're filming this.

(Guitar rock)

So Kate, I'm sure you had to tap into some

not so happy memories while writing this book.

My question for you is what was the hardest part

personally about writing the book?

- You know it was a really emotional experience

- Hey, sorry about that, I just have a Postmates order

for Jon - You can keep going, Kate.

Yeah that's me - [Kate] Okay, um

- You got that fire sauce in here

- [Delivery Guy] Yeah I got all the sauces

- [Kate] It was a really emotional experience

- [Delivery Guy] Mild, hot, spicy

- [Jon] Oh awesome - [Kate] I definitely cried

while writing the book a lot.

- [Delivery Guy] What's this whole

- [Jon] Oh, it's a show called Blazed Book Reviews

- [Kate] Pulling from watching my mom on her deathbed.

- I interview people who, this is Kate.

- [Delivery Guy] Oh no way - Hi

- [Delivery Guy] Hey, how's it going?

- Nice to meet you.

- Awesome, this is a book review right?

- Yeah, more or less.

So you're saying, what was it, the hardest part?

(loud crunch)

- Writing about my mom on her death bed

was particularly hard, she died very quickly of cancer.

- Mmm

- I'm sorry a crumb of meat just fell

off your beard back into the taco.

- Can we do her answer again?

She kinda stumbled on a couple of words.

- Okay

(bell rings) (two crunches)

- So according to Tom Hanks, there's no crying in baseball.

Did you ever consider trying baseball for grief?

Now, it's time for weed pairings.

You know how some people pair wine with food?

Well, I pair weed strains with books.

(trap music)

Kate Spencer's The Dead Moms Club.

I highly recommend pairing it with

a mind heavy upper sativa.

For example, my little vape pen is chock full of Jack Herer.

One of my favorite strains for getting things done.

- It's like you just vaped on a very light tampon.

- Yes, it's a low flow day for Uncle Jon over here.

Now, I'm ready to read.

- Are you actually - Oh!

- Are you actually reading it?

- Oh, uh-huh!

Spoiler alert, the mom dies.

That's so fucked up, I'm sorry.

Spoiler alert, the mom dies. It happens pretty early.

(both laugh)

- Are you just reading a blank page?

- No, I'm reading the last paragraph of your book.

Honestly,

I was just trying to read it

cause I was gonna make a joke about it.

But I started getting choked up reading the last paragraph.

- That's really nice.

- When I'm stoned, I'm pretty close to just

fucking cracking up laughterwise.

I'm also pretty close to just bawling

my fucking eyes out at any moment.

- I think it's really important that we all emote,

and if something moves us we should let it.

- Hit me with the close-up, watch this.

(somber piano music)

- [Kate] Are you crying?

Looks like you're holding it.

- It's coming, it's fine, it's fine.

- Don't hurt yourself, honestly.

Please don't hurt yourself.

- Yeah, it's just not happening.

- It's okay, you don't - I'm sorry.

- Not everyone's gonna cry.

- Is there anything that you do now that makes you cry?

And you're not allowed to say think of your dead mom.

- Okay - That's an obvious answer.

So Kate, where can we buy your book?

- You can buy it at Amazon

- I'm sorry actually we're out of time.

BBR will BRB,

until then

Mahalo.

- Are we done? - I gotta blast a shit.

- Are we done?

- I didn't make it.

- Did you?

- Dead Mom's Club by Kate Spencer.

I give it one living thumbs up.

- Did you poop your pants?

- Yes.

Forgotten Realms Pantheon - Myrkul and Mystra - Duration: 7:24.

Hello everybody Jorphdan here the Ph is silent.

Oh man another long awaited fan favorite.

We're covering Myrkul the god of death today and Mystra the goddess of magic.

I've done a lot on Mystra in my Forgotten Realms Explained series, but let's see if

we can find anything new about her.

Myrkul, the Lord of Bones, Old Lord Skull, and also known as the Reaper.

Myrkul is the deity of death, decay, old age, exhaustion, dusk, and autumn.

Which Mielikki is also the goddess of Autumn, so not sure if they share that portfolio or

if it was a mistake.

I didn't think two deities could share a portfolio, but maybe I'm wrong!

Or perhaps people just associate Myrkul with Autumn because of death and decay.

He is in contrast to Lathander.

Lathander being the god of beginnings, and hope.

Myrkul is the opposite.

Being the deity of ends and hopelessness.

Myrkul was one of the dead three along with Bane and Bhaal.

They played a game of knucklebones to determine who would inherit which portfolios of the

former god of death Jergal.

Myrkul won and chose "the dead" taking up residence in Bone Castle with Jergal as

his servant, or advisor.

Jergal was hanging around with Myrkul in some capacity.

People don't pray to Myrkul often because they are scared of him.

Death is a frightening aspect.

So he is blamed for exhaustion, or aching bones, or other malities related to old age.

His influence in Faerun is one of fear.

His cowled skull head was known to be in nightmares all over Faerun, and he was the one deity

that almost all human mortals could picture clearly.

His visage is that of death, with a scythe in hand, a white skull face, and a black robe.

It is because of this image he is also commonly known as the reaper.

It was during the Time of Troubles that Myrkul was killed by Midnight (now Mystra) on top

of Blackstaff tower in Waterdeep.

He was attempting to forcefully seize the Tablets of Fate.

But Midnight who was infused with the power of the now dead Mystra slayed Myrkul in a

duel.

Being the god of the dead it makes sense that Myrkul would return to the Faerun Pantheon.

However he lost his portfolio to Cyric and then Kelemvor and no longer takes up residence

in Bone Castle.

Before Myrkul was destroyed some of his essence went into an artifact known as the Crown of

Horns.

It's unclear in my research of Myrkul has come back due to the Sundering or if he just

endures in this artifact.

But either way Myrkul has remained on Faerun and is still worshiped.

Myrkul's followers are evil and the faith of Myrkul is not popular.

Just like Beshaba or certain other deities many worship Myrkul out of fear, making offerings

to avoid his gaze.

Attention from the Lord of Bones is never good, but through worship one hopes that they

are looked over and others will be the target of the Reaper's thoughts.

Actual priests of Myrkul tend to be morbid loners who enjoy scaring others.

Followers are few, and to be a priest of Myrkul is an oddity.

Temples to Myrkul are also quite rare, but when they pop up they are impressive.

Massive mausoleums built above ghastly subterranean necropolises.

Leering gargoyles adorn the outside, and stone statues of men, women, and children in various

stages of death and decay line the walls.

Numerous undead creatures, particularly skeletal undead stalk the halls and dungeons of this

place.

It is worth noting that undeath is a major part of Mykrul.

He is the god of the dead, not necessarily in their final resting place.

Necromancers might worship Myrkul to gain more control over the dead.

This makes the population even more scared, the thought of returning as an animated corpse

after death is not a pleasant one.

The dogma of the church is to make folk fear and respect death and the power of almighty

Myrkul.

They want this fear to permeate the populace so no one will stand against the church or

try to thwart their activities.

Next is Mystra the goddess of magic.

A personal favorite of mine.

I mean who doesn't like magic and thus the goddess of magic.

Unless you count all the times she's died, that kind of sucks.

But Mystra's cool!

Also known as the Lady of Mysteries, the Mother of all Magic, and our Lady of Spells Mystra

is the goddess of possibilities.

She is arguably the most powerful deity in Faerun and possibly throughout Realmspace.

She personally came down and taught the first races how to use magic, and it is rumored

she weighs and judges each new spell or magical item to determine whether it should be permitted

in the realms.

Not to be confused with Azuth who is the god of wizards.

Mystra is the goddess over the weave, that force allowing all spellcasters to pull from

for magical effects.

The Weave is like raw magic, and through the act of spellcasting one can manipulate it

for a desired effect.

This is commonly referred to as the Art.

If you want, you can think of the Weave as the Force in Star Wars, it's always there

you just have to know how to use it.

With training, or natural talent one can tap into this power.

This is where we get the difference between Wizards and Sorcerers.

Mystra was created at the beginning of time as the daughter of Selune.

Selune and Shar were fighting over the future of Faerun and Realmspace in general.

Selune tor a piece of magical essence from herself and hurled it at Shar.

When hit Shar lost parts of her essence and from that Mystra was born.

Or I should say Mystryl because the goddess of magic has changed in throughout history.

Originally Mystryl this form, or point of view, she perished in -339 DR during Karsus's

Folly.

Karsus channeled a 12th level spell that stole the godly powers of Mystryl.

When this happened all magic ceased to function destroying Karsus and numerous Netherese people.

More information in my History of the Netherese videos.

Links in the Doobly Do.

Mystrl was the reborn as Mystra.

Flash forward to the Time of Troubles and Mystra perished at the hands of Helm who destroyed

her to prevent her from going back to the Astral Plane.

Her remaining power infused into a woman named Midnight who became the new goddess of magic,

adopting Mystra's name so there wouldn't be much confusion going forward.

The faith in Mystra is pervasive in Faerun, which is to be expected for such a magical

place.

Her worshipers include anybody who works closely with magic.

Wizards, Sorcerers, and the occasional bard.

Their goal is to preserve magic and promote its use.

Anyone of any alignment can worship Mystra, however the goddess herself is Neutral Good.

Most worshipers of the Lady of Mysteries are human, but all wielders of magic and seekers

of arcane lore of any race are welcome in the service of Mystra.

The priests of Mystra are known as Servants of Mystery, but titles within the faith vary

from temple to temple and follow no standard form across the whole church.

Temples to Mystra can be structures of almost any size or style.

Priests of Mystra can cause their own flesh to glow with a soft blue-white radiance.

This is known as the weaveglow and allows the priest to see his or her surroundings

out to 5 feet.

The dogma of Mystra is choice, decision and knowledge.

Magic is a great power and it brings with it a great responsibility.

"Love magic for itself, not just as a ready weapon."

"Learn when not to use magic and you will have learned true wisdom."

And above all "remember that magic is an Art, the Gift of the Lady, and that those

who can wield it are privileged in the extreme."

Mystran clergy work to preserve magical lore in secret libraries or private safeholds.

The church sponsors a knightly order of paladins and a small order of rangers.

The Paladins are known as the Knights of the Mystic Fire and are granted spells by Mystra.

Really great stuff.

That's it for today, a bit of a longer video but probably not by much. There was so much to cover.

I love the idea of a Cleric or Paladin of Mystra.

Maybe you could play an Eldritch Knight who follows the path of Mystra.

The Arcana domain might be perfect for a cleric of Mystra.

Or how about a necromancer wizard that serves Myrkul, perhaps looking for the Crown of Thorns

as his life's calling.

8 consequences of loneliness for health | Natural Health - Duration: 5:35.

8 consequences of loneliness for health.

The feeling of loneliness, which is when the person is or feels lonely, brings bad consequences

to health, because it causes sadness, interferes with well-being and facilitates the development

of diseases such as stress, anxiety or depression.

These situations can also cause physical illnesses, as they are closely linked to the deregulation

of hormones, such as serotonin, adrenaline and cortisol, that affect the person's endocrine

and immune system, that is, the person starts to perform activities less efficiently and

are more likely to have diseases.

The consequences of loneliness are even greater in the third age, as these people have a greater

difficulty maintaining social life, either by the loss of close relatives or by the physical

limitation of leaving home and doing activities.

In addition, various organs such as the stomach, intestines, lungs and heart can be affected

due to negative and persistent emotions, turning into physical diseases, called psychosomatic

diseases.

1.

High pressure.

People who feel lonely often look for the feeling of happiness in things, especially

in food.

Thus, the feeling of loneliness can stimulate the consumption of foods rich in fat and salt,

which can increase the pressure and favor the occurrence of heart attacks, stroke or

kidney problems.

2.

Change in blood sugar.

Emotional diabetes does not exist, but some emotional issues can cause the disease indirectly,

either by the increase in the consumption of foods with high sugar or by the deregulation

of the production of hormones, such as insulin and cortisol, which are hormones related to

control of blood sugar levels.

3.

Predisposition to the development of cancer.

Loneliness tends to develop more cancer because the body finds itself in constant stress,

increasing the chances of mutations and proliferation of cancer cells.

In addition, they have lower chances of surviving cancer.

4.

Stress and anxiety.

The feeling of loneliness signals to the brain that the body is under stress by raising the

level of the hormone cortisol, which is known as the stress hormone.

High cortisol concentration can lead to loss of muscle mass, learning disability and memory

lapses.

5.

Depression.

People who feel lonely are more likely to have depression, because they feel that the

feeling of emptiness can not be filled by anything or anyone.

Thus, people start to have constant sadness, loss of energy and desire to do day-to-day

activities, irritability, lack of appetite or excessive appetite, insomnia or the urge

to sleep all the time, usually to escape from reality.

6.

Insomnia or difficulty sleeping.

The lonely person is always on alert because he feels vulnerable to everything, so the

body remains in a state of constant stress, unable to relax, which means that the person

can not get a deep sleep, wake up several times at night or just have trouble sleeping.

7.

Pain in muscles and joints.

Muscle and joint pain may be a result of lack of physical exercise or even posture, since

normally those who feel alone do not feel like doing ordinary activities simply because

they are alone.

8.

Increased chance of drug, alcohol and cigarette addiction.

Sometimes loneliness can not be solved by living with other people.

Because of this, the company is often provided through things that provide a sense of pleasure

or immediate relief, such as medicines, alcohol and cigarettes, which can lead to addiction.

How to combat the consequences of loneliness.

To prevent loneliness from persisting and can cause or worsen many diseases, it is important

to have attitudes that move away from this situation, such as practicing a hobby, enrolling

in a course or adopting an animal, for example.

The support of the family, if possible, is very important to help the person, especially

when elderly, to overcome this feeling.

When loneliness causes physical symptoms, or when it is associated with other symptoms

such as sadness, loss of appetite, altered appetite or altered sleep, it is important

to seek the support of a psychologist and psychiatrist, as it may be associated with

other conditions of health, such as depression.

How to Save photos from iCloud to Mac - Duration: 8:29.

Hello lovely people of YouTube and welcome to the computer labs YouTube

channel and today we are looking at how to get the photos from the Apple iCloud

and then store them onto your Mac if you are looking for the how-to for a Windows

machine - Windows 10 then please do look at one of my other videos this will

purely show you how to get the photos from your Apple iCloud account to your

Apple Mac it is a bit easier on the Mac bit straightforward compared to the

Windows but if that's what you have to please do carry on watching ok so the

first thing that we need to do is open our Photos app up so photos I have mine

down on my taskbar at the bottom here as you can see if you don't have yours

there just push f4 on the keyboard so you can do a quick search for it and

have a look for photos this is the same one, so click on photos that will open

up the photos app or program on your Apple machine ok so you see that in my photo

library at the moment on the left hand side I have 5060 items in this

particular photos collection it now this particular machine I actually they do download

them onto my Mac and you might do the same therefore they are stored in a

photo album that has a very strange final configuration really hard to find

all the photos in so we are obviously just downloading them out of the cloud

and onto this machine so first thing once we're in the app is to go up to the

option at the top click on photos and then down into preferences in photos so

here we have the options that I was talking about so you need to make sure

you might start in the general will click on the iCloud and yours if you

are paying for anything this item will be ticked so if you're paying for photo

storage you'll see it open a box up now and same to me ok sees how many photos

I've got I need to pay this per month if I want to store them in the icloud

I don't want to do that I'm actually storing mine on that machine but the box

that you need to take is this one that is currently greyed out on mine but download

originals to this Mac that's the one that you want to make sure that is

selected. So once that's selected and ticked come back out of the preferences

and now we need to select all the photographs in our library so obviously

if it's the first time you go open the app it might just take it a minute just

to download the items from the cloud onto the Mac so then it put some all in

the photos app, so then we need to select all so there's couple ways of

doing this we can go up to the top, make sure we store are still in the Photos app click on

edit and with a of the select all command you'll see next to it you can

see the CMD key and A selects all so if I pick there you'll see them all blue

box appears so it's now selected all the photographs it's got 5,000 and 60 items

selected in my Photos app like I said you can use the shortcuts or use command

and "a" and it selects them all as well. okay so now we have all the photos are selected

make sure it tells you that in the top right hand corner we now want to export

these into a folder we can recognize on the Mac so we can then move that across

maybe onto a storage device a USB stick or whatever whenever we want but they

won't be in the cloud that's the aim so I want to get these out of the cloud

onto this machine so then we need to go to file in the top menu down to export

2 options: if you want to keep the area modified so you know yourself you can

modify items in the cloud you can put writing on them change the colors and

the stuff which the top one will do there or you can do the "export

unmodified originals" so basically you tick the top option it will give you

different options just pick for the video quality 4k 1080p and stuff like

that but we have to do unmodified I want off, all as they were, so we have the

perfect quality on each different photo and movie because it does also store

movies and MP4 in the icloud okay so export unmodified original items for

obviously how many you have selected. Mine is 5060 this then that brings up

this export box and it's saying okay do you want to use a file name your choose a title

I'll leave this file name and the bottom option here I usually select this as a

moment name because what that will do it will name it with the different moment

names that you have in your photos apps so that mean it labels it with an area that you've

been to or a date which puts most important for me it puts dates on them

now see you then can just drag them into a different folder and organize them

from there okay so I'll click export.

It asks us where I want to save these to, obviously you can save them to pictures or

documents wherever you want them, for this particular video I'll just create a new

folder so I'm gonna name it I'm gonna save them into documents you might want to

save into pictures and I'm going to name it something so I will name it how to

save photos from Apple iCloud to your Mac. So obviously yours will be named

something totally different to that place just so we've got an idea where

they go so click create it'll then create that folder and now I want to

export the originals to that folder so click on export originals and then what it

does now it starts to download all the photos from the iCloud account on to

your Apple machine into the folder we have just created it doesn't look like

it's do anything but the way to tell is just go up to the top left hand corner

see little circle if you click on that it will show you a moving bar of it

exporting the items from your iCloud account into the folder that you have

just created on your Mac machine so just to keep this how-to video moving along

quickly I shall a speed up the export process

and just so you are not sat watching a blue bar going across the screen is so I'll just

speed this section up when it's finished we're good to go

okay so we're just getting to the end of the exports and when it's finished the

final one you get a box in the top right hand corner it says export completes a

you have saved photos from the Apple iCloud to your Mac so that is where they

have gone to so let's have a look at that file so does minimize photos down

now and we'll go to the folder where they have just been exported to when I

go to documents and the folder that I just created which was how to save

photos from Apple iCloud to your Mac so I will open that folder up

and then you can see in this folder because the way I selected the different

options it has now put them into different dates which is brilliant so

you can then and it's also put them into areas which again is great you can

select the two different option if you wanna try which one you want to go for

make you see all the different files or folders that it was created with all the

dates on at the end and different things in them so a really nice little tool and

there's all the pictures within the folders and also movies you can see

there's all the photographs just top one up to tiberias there well that's it now

all the photos are now saved onto my Mac in a folder structure I can it now on

the stand and possibly move them onto google photos or a storage device of my

liking okay so thank you very much for watching the computer labs YouTube

channel please do hit the subscribe button give us a big thumbs up if the

video has helped and leave us any comments below and thank you very much

again for watching the computer lab vids YouTube channel
