5 ITEM TRAPS to NOT SELL on Amazon (Products that Cost New Sellers Money) - Duration: 15:22.

Hey, guys.

In this video, I'm going to be warning you about five different items that are potential

traps for private labeling and selling on Amazon.

If you fall for one of these traps, it can cost you a lot of money especially if you

are a new seller.

To find out what these five items are and to watch some sweet Sarah dance moves, keep

watching this video.

So, like my video from last week, I'm going to be making this one a fun interactive game.

I'm going to be showing you an item and be giving you five seconds to figure out why

you should not private label and sell this item on Amazon and if you get it right, you

win points.

Yay!

Now, I'm actually going to start this video off with a bit of a challenging one so if

you don't get it right, don't worry.

But if you do get it right, you will win 20 points, so it is quite a big prize.

All right, so here is the first item that you should not private label and sell on Amazon.

You have five seconds to guess why you should avoid it.

Go.

Time is up.

Let's see if you got it right.

Before we do though, I just want to tell you a quick cautionary tale to show you just how

easy it is to fall for this trap.

Let's imagine George, a new and eager Amazon seller who is looking to private label and

sell his first item on Amazon.

He's searching through Amazon looking for ideas and he sees that people are selling

dog leashes designed for walking two dogs at a time.

He decides to go to Alibaba and do a search for dual dog leashes.

He goes through the listings.

Most of them look pretty standard and quite similar but as he's scrolling through the

options, he spots a unique and interesting design that is different from the others.

"This is amazing," George thinks.

Rather than sell those boring other dual dog leashes, he's going to sell this ingenious

design and make a ton of money.

He goes and he orders a bunch from the manufacturer.

But unfortunately, George made a big mistake, because this item has an active patent from

the company Wigzi.

When George puts his new dog leashes up on Amazon, not only will Wigzi get it taken down

when they spot it, but they could potentially sue George for patent infringement too and

it would be a really tough lesson for George to learn that there are many Chinese suppliers

out there manufacturing products that they do not have the right to do so.

Taking a look at the product listed on Alibaba, we can see that it has a reel separate from

the handle that rotates so that the leashes don't get tangled which is the first feature

specifically stated in Wigzi's patented design.

Looking at it again, we can see that it has two different triggers for each leash that

operates separately which is the second feature stated in Wigzi's patent and each of the triggers

is the same color as the leash they are attached to so that you don't forget which trigger

is connected to which leash, which surprise, surprise, is the third defining feature listed

in the Wigzi patent.

The moral of the story here is to not be a George.

If you see an item that looks really great to private label, stop and check to see if

there are any active patents protecting the design.

Luckily, it's really easy to do patent searches.

I like to use Google Patents.

It is simple to use and free.

Did you get that one right?

If you did, you won 20 points.

If you didn't, don't worry because there are plenty of chances to earn more.

The next item is going to be a little bit easier so for this one, if you get it right,

you will win 5 points.

Here is the next product that you should avoid as it is a potential trap.

Can you figure out why that is?

Go.

That is it.

Time is up.

Let's see if you got it right.

The reason why you should not private label and sell this item on Amazon is it is a seasonal

product.

Think about it.

When do you buy beach towels, when it's warm outside, not when it's freezing cold in the

middle of winter.

These blankets sell like crazy over the summer but during colder months, the sales massively

drop off.

Now, there is nothing wrong with seasonal products, don't get me wrong.

There is a ton of money to be made in them, but they are not consistent money.

You make a lot of money for one period of the year and then for the other times of the

year, it is super slow.

For beginners out there looking to sell their product and probably hoping to use it to make

enough money to quit their jobs, I recommend picking a product that has consistent ongoing

sales so that you could have reliable consistent income every month.

Did you get that right?

If so, congratulations, you won five points.

Let's play a game.

Now, this time, the item is well, you could say interesting and this one is also worth

20 points.

Here is our interesting item.

You have five seconds to figure out why this item is a trap and should be avoided being

private labeled and sold on Amazon.

Go.

Time is up.

Let's see if you won the 20 points.

The reason why I chose these penis enlargement pills is because I received a comment recently

from someone asking if it would be a good product to sell.

Honestly, I've never tried to sell these pills, so I didn't know.

I've decided then to put on my detective hat and figure out the answer to this question.

Now, I have my suspicions that this was not going to be a good product, but even I couldn't

predict the twist ending that this case was going to have.

My first course of action during this investigation was to go to Amazon and see if any of these

pills were listed and selling.

I went to Amazon and started to type in penis enlargement pills into the search bar but

interestingly, once I started typing in the word enlargement, Amazon stopped recommending

search phrases to me even though I was 100% certain that people probably type this in

a lot.

Very curious.

After I did the search, I found some interesting results.

Most of the items listed have very few reviews with only a handful having over a 100 and

funnily enough, the reviews were extremely mixed.

No five-star rated products here.

The fact that there were very few reviews for each listing was even more curious when

after checking it out on Jungle Scout, these pills were selling like crazy.

Very interesting.

After opening up the listings with very few reviews and taking a look at them, it became

apparent that they had already been on Amazon for about three months which was why they

didn't have many reviews.

Very suspicious.

Of course, I still had some lingering questions.

One of them being why are there a few listings that are breaking the trend and have been

up for a couple of years and have over a 1,000 reviews?

Well, upon further inspection, while these pills contained the exact same ingredients

as the other, they never ever mention the words penis or enlargement in the product

listing.

Instead these listings would say things like, "Use these pills to increase the performance,

size and stamina of your workouts."

Clearly the true purpose of these pills was being disguised.

My conclusion then was that most likely these pills were not allowed.

So, my investigation led me to look at Amazon's list of prohibited dietary supplements and

sure enough, sexual enhancement products are prohibited and banned no Amazon.

Case closed, right?

Well not quite.

I knew I had to dig deeper.

I had to go straight to the source.

I had to go to Amazon themselves.

I went to them and confronted them with the evidence.

I asked them, "Why is it that these pills have not been taken down?

Are they truly prohibited?

Do they not count as sexual enhancement pills?

If I wanted to sell them, would I be able to do so?"

And the answer I got was truly surprising even for a very experienced detective like

myself.

Basically, they told me that, "Yes, these products are not allowed and are prohibited."

So, you'd think that it ends there, right?

No.

Amazon gave me two choices.

Firstly, they told me that even though they are prohibited because some people got under

the radar and are selling them anyway, they would let me do it too because that's fair.

Alternatively, I could report all of the rouge listings and work directly with Amazon to

get them taken down.

There you go, case solved.

It turns out that yes you can often get away with selling prohibited items on Amazon.

Once some people start doing it, Amazon apparently begrudgingly lets other people do it too.

But you would be building your business on a base of sand because all it takes is for

one person to come along, report it to Amazon and make enough of a fuss for them to go and

remove your listing.

It's very clear that Amazon don't want these pills up on their site especially because

of the fact that when you go to the search bar and start typing them in, no search phrases

come up despite the fact that they are high sellers.

But Amazon is not motivated enough by themselves to go ahead and remove them.

That is until someone comes along and makes an official complaint, thus, then gives Amazon

the excuse to go out there and prioritize the issue and remove the items which clearly

does happen since most of the listings were only a few months old.

And while you could attempt to be sneaky like some of the pills were clearly trying to be,

if Amazon ever bothered to take a closer look at the comments, your true motivations would

become apparent.

No, even though you can get away with selling prohibited items for a while, I do not recommend

it because at any moment, Amazon could turn on you, remove your listing and potentially

even ban your account.

Did you guess it?

This item was prohibited by Amazon.

If so, you won 20 points.

Yay!

Let's move on to the next product.

This one is another easier one to figure out so if you get it right, you win five points.

And this time, I will be taking a dance request.

This here is the fourth product that is a potential money trap.

You have five seconds to figure out why you should avoid this.

Go.

Time is up.

Let's see if you won the five points.

The reason why you should not private label and sell this item on Amazon is because it

is built around a fad, the iPad.

Now when I say that iPads are fad, I'm not saying that they're going to suddenly go out

of fashion and nobody is going to want to buy them anymore.

Instead what I mean is that iPads are constantly year after year being updated and changed.

If you're making accessory for one generation of the iPad family, there is no guarantees

that it's going to fit the next generation when it is announced.

Something else to keep in mind is that cultural trends like fidget spinners are a lot less

appealing for private label sellers than they are for drop shippers and that is because

in the private label world, it only takes around two to three months to contact your

manufacturer, get your items produced, ship them into the Amazon warehouses and enlist

them for sale and by the time that the item has reached the shores of the USA, there is

a really strong chance that the fad will have died out by then.

While maybe a little bit least exciting, look to private label products that have historical

stable proven sales so that you can have consistent reliable income.

Did you get it right?

If so, add five points to your total.

Now, pay close attention because you've got one chance left to win points and the final

one is worth 10.

This is the final product that you should not private label and sell on Amazon especially

as a beginner.

You have five seconds to figure out why.

Go.

Time is up.

let's see if you won those final 10 points.

The reason why you should not sell this item on Amazon is because getting liability insurance

for something like essential oils is actually quite a lot more expensive than getting it

for a simpler item like, say, a soap dispenser.

And that is because that essential oil is designed to be applied to the body.

Now, anything that is either designed to be applied to the body or inserted into the body

like pills are going to attract higher insurance premiums.

If that was your guess for product three, then feel free to credit yourself these 10

points because that was a good guess.

In addition, anything that is an obvious accident risk like blenders as they contained blades

also have higher insurance premiums.

And products that are potential choking hazards for children also have this issue, which is

why this is one of the downsides of producing a product that is aimed at kids.

When you sign up for Amazon, you actually agree in their term service that once you

hit $10,000 in a single quarter, that you will have product liability insurance for

your items.

I do, however, want to say something.

If you are sitting there intimidated by the idea of starting your Amazon business because

of things like product liability insurance, don't be.

All these scary things that you've never done before like getting insurance or paying taxes

or importing products, trust me, it's not as hard as you probably think.

Most of these is solved by simply googling your questions and reading the answers.

There is so much information out there to help you.

The successful people are those that instead of coming and when they hit a hurdle that

they don't know how to get over, and so think, "Oh, I'm just going to stop here."

Think instead, "I don't know how to get over this.

Let's find out."

And it's those people that get to quit their draining, uninspiring day jobs and build the

dream life that they've always wanted.

Tally time.

How many points did you get?

Remember that product one was worth 20 points.

Product two was worth five points.

Product three was worth 20 points.

Product four was worth five points and product five was worth 10 points.

BREAKING: ANOTHER Corrupt Leader About To Get The BOOT – He Hid It ALL ALONG! - Duration: 8:24.

BREAKING: ANOTHER Corrupt Leader About To Get The BOOT – He Hid It ALL ALONG!

In a New York Post piece titled "How McConnell and Chao used political power, to make their

family rich" Larry Getlen outlines exactly how this powerful family made an incredible

amount of money off of the political favors, they claimed while serving in office.

According to Getlen, the information came from a book that was written by Peter Schweizer.

Schweizer's book "delved into the Clinton Foundation's dealings in 2016's 'Clinton

Cash.'"

He has now turned his sights to the money-making machinations of DC's political elite.

That book is titled "Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption

and Enriches Family and Friends."

It's due out Tuesday from Harper Collins and according to Getlen, it exposes how politicians

engage in "corruption by proxy" by exploiting family and business ties to enrich themselves

and their relatives.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, ex-Commerce

Secretary Penny Pritzker are just a few of the politicians that Schweizer exposes in

his book.

According to the details shared there, McConnell and his wife had a net worth of around $3.1

million in 2004.

Somehow, ten years later, that number was somewhere between $9.2 million and $36.5 million.

Here's why:

"One source of the windfall, according to a new book from Peter Schweizer, was a 2008

gift from Chao's father, James Chao, for somewhere between $5 million and $25 million.

But this gift could be seen as more than just a gift.

It may have been acquired, according to Schweizer, thanks to the couple's loyalty to China,

the source of the Chao family fortune.

And that loyalty may have occurred at the expense of the nation they had pledged to

serve.

Secret Empires, the new book from the 'Clinton Cash' and 'Throw Them All Out' author,

details myriad examples of corruption from members of both major political parties.

Rather than focusing on direct forms of corruption, such as bribes, Schweizer hones in on the

more indirect graft of the modern era.

While politicians and their spouses are often subject to rigid regulations on what gifts

they can accept and what sort of business they can conduct, others around them — like

their friends or children have no such obstacles.

So while a politician could theoretically wind up in prison for accepting $10,000 for

doling out favors, establishing overseas connections that could land your children multi-million-dollar

deals is harder to detect, and often legal.

As Schweizer tells it, the Chao family fortune derives from the Foremost Group, a shipping

company that Chinese native James Chao, a classmate of former Chinese president Jiang

Zemin at Jiao Tong University, founded in New York in 1964.

Chao remains Foremost's chairman today, and his daughters Angela and Christine are

the company's deputy chairwoman and general counsel, respectively.

Elaine Chao worked there in the 1970s, and has been quoted as saying, "Shipping is

our family tradition."

The success of Foremost is largely due to its close ties to the Chinese government,

in particular, the China State Shipbuilding Corp.

(CSSC), a corporation with which Foremost has done "large volumes of business."

The CSSC, Schweizer writes, is 'a state-owned defense conglomerate … at the heart of the

Chinese government's military-industrial complex.'

The main goal of the CSSC is to strengthen the Chinese military.

James and Angela Chao have both sat on the board of a CSSC offshoot.

While Foremost is an American company, 'their ships have been constructed by Chinese government

shipyards, and some of their construction financed by the Chinese government."

In addition, writes Schweizer, "their crews are largely Chinese,' despite US Transportation

Secretary and company founder's daughter Elaine Chao having once said that 'ships

crewed by Americans are 'a vital part of our national security.''

Given all this, it's worth noting how both McConnell and Chao, in their roles as high-ranking

US officials, have personally interacted with, and then gone considerably soft on, China

since their 1993 wedding.

When Senator McConnell — who took hardline positions against China prior to his marriage

— met with high-ranking Chinese officials in 1994, it was not in his capacity as a senator,

but via a personal invitation from the CSSC arranged by James Chao.

McConnell met with Zemin, then the country's president, and vice-premier Li Lanqing.

After this meeting, McConnell 'would increasingly avoid public criticism of China.'

More meetings like it would follow in the years to come.

'As the Chaos and the Chinese government went into business together, the Chaos-McConnells

tied their economic fate to the good fortunes of Beijing,' Schweizer writes.

'Were McConnell to critique Beijing aggressively or support policies damaging to Chinese interests,

Beijing could severely damage the family's economic fortunes.'

In the ensuing years, McConnell has loudly defended China in its actions against Hong

Kong and Taiwan, even claiming that 'the United States needed to be 'ambiguous'

as to whether we would come to the defense of Taiwan if attacked by China.'

When Sen. Jesse Helms introduced the Taiwan Security Enhancement Act, pledging support

for Taiwanese independence, in 1999, it had 'twenty-one co-sponsors and heavy Republican

support.

But McConnell was not on the list.'

When Congress required China to document annual progress on human rights in order to maintain

its trade status in the aftermath of the Tiananmen Square massacre, ditching the requirement

became a priority for the country.

In 2000, "McConnell cosponsored S.2277, which would do just that."

McConnell also fought attempts to punish China for vigorously undervaluing its currency,

a tactic that led Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to invoke the nuclear option, changing

Senate rules on voting.

The bill passed, 63-35, with McConnell voting against.

Chao has also done her part to support her ancestral home.

When she served as Secretary of Labor under George W. Bush, her department resisted efforts

to 'call out the Chinese government over its workers rights practices.'

When a petition was filed against China on the subject of worker's rights based on

the US Trade Act of 1974, Chao opposed it.

After a bipartisan congressional report citing Chinese espionage against the US circulated

in 2000, Chao 'was critical of the report,' making clear she 'in no way' agreed with

its findings, and, Schweizer writes, 'dismiss[ing] the idea that China could pose any threat

to the United States.'"

Republicans whose interests are somewhere other than their conservative constituency

have been given the name RINOs (Republican In Name Only).

This is what is being referred to; someone whose policies are Republican because it's

beneficial to them, their business or their family.

They don't believe in a conservative cause because of its intrinsic truth, just because

it's the best for them at the moment.

The McConnell's are far from the only family to have family members who had a big influence

on public policy.

Congressional children becoming lobbyists is a growing, disturbing tradition.

Former Senator Trent Lott's son Chet, who was "managing Domino's Pizza franchises

in Lexington, KY, when he decided to spin policy instead of pizza."

Senator Orrin Hatch, who, along with his son Scott — a lobbyist for the likes of Schering-Plough,

Bayer, Colgate-Palmolive, GlaxoSmithKline and more — have been the best friends the

diet supplement industry ever had, helping them avoid government oversight.

"And Hunter Biden and Chris Heinz — son and stepson, respectively, of Joe Biden and

John Kerry — created an international private equity firm that formed deals with foreign

governments, including an investment fund in a joint venture with the Bank of China,

at the same time their fathers were working with those governments on highly sensitive

political matters."

The President's job of draining the swamp might not end up being only on the left side

of the aisle.

Top Six Baking Spices ~ Sweet or Savory ~ Spice Rack Essentials ~ Top Six List ~ Noreen's Kitchen - Duration: 12:33.

Hi everyone welcome back to my kitchen and another installment of my top six list today

We're gonna concentrate on all those wonderful warm baking spices, so let's go see what my top six baking spices are

We're going to shoot right into another episode of my top six list

I know it sounds kind of weird but top six. I can't do five

That's not enough seven and eight is a little bit too many so six is just perfect

It's a nice round number, and I love it so

We're gonna do my top six favorite baking spices that I think everyone should have on their shelf one of them is definitely

optional

But I do find myself reaching for it more often than not

so

this is

A group of spices that you can create a lot of different blends from if you choose to do that you can make your own

Apple pie spice you can make your own pumpkin pie spice

And you can do a lot of other things these spices are also commonly found in

speculoos cookies which are Danish cookie that they also make cookie butter out of

so if you want to see me make

Speculoos cookies let me know and I'll put them on the list and maybe some point down the road

We'll make our own cookie butter because you can definitely make that at home too, so my number one tops baking spice would be cinnamon

Right there, and all of these jars. I did myself. I bought these jars off Amazon. I'll leave a link down below

they come with the lid they come with the little shaker top and the labels I did myself on the computer and

These are just regular mailing labels

These small address labels

and I printed them off the way I wanted to and then to make them kind of waterproof and

Wipe a bowl off a ball

I put piece of clear packing tape over that and that's gonna seal it off nice

And if I have to redo it they'll peel off easily and we can just move forward

So cinnamon definitely number one

I think if you can only have one baking spice on your spice rack

Cinnamon is definitely the one that I would choose because it's versatile and you can use it in a lot of things

If you can afford to have more than one clove would be my next one

Definitely you can go with whole clove, or ground clove, I took

typically use ground cloves more than whole cloves, but I do keep both on hand and

Anything you see here. I have whole versions of as well the you know me

I'm the spice queen and I have whole versions and ground versions of everything

cloves

to me are one of my favorite warm spices because they it smells like Christmas and

When you smell that you bring it out of the oven it's just it makes you feel good

Next up would be nutmeg I also keep whole nutmeg on hand and I do

Grate my own when I'm using it for certain recipes if I don't have to have a whole lot

Nutmeg is definitely very potent just like cloves

You don't want to use a whole lot of this at once because if you use too much nutmeg

It can lend a sope flavor to whatever you're making and some people are super sensitive to that

So nutmeg a little bit goes a long way. Just the same as cloves

So if I could only have three things

It would be these three right here cinnamon cloves and nutmeg because you get a lot of mileage out of these three spices

The next three are

Allspice and we're gonna come back and talk about this a little bit in a minute

Allspice is not a mixture of spices allspice is a spice all to itself and I'm gonna talk about that in just a minute

Definitely a spice I reach for a lot it lends a different flavor it has a citrusy lemony flavor to it

It's used a lot in

Island cooking like the people of

Jamaica the Bahama the Bahamas on those

Tropical islands that are off the coast of Florida

Allspice is the basis for a lot of their seasonings like for jerk seasoning or jerk barbecue

Allspice is definitely in there

Then there's ginger. I mean you can't make ginger bread without ginger

But ginger goes along a long way as the rest of these spices

Do they don't just lend themselves to sweet baking recipes they also lend themselves to a lot of savory applications like I said

most of these spices are used in East Indian a lot of Asian cooking a lot of

South American cooking

Cuban Jamaican

a lot of the island cooking

Recipes have all these spices blended together to make amazing savory dishes

Ginger is also a really awesome thing to have on hand for your health. It's great when you're sick

It's great to maintain healthfulness in general mixed with

Apple cider vinegar and honey as a daily tincture

And you won't get sick if you do that so ginger is definitely something

I like to keep and think that you should too, and then the last one

I'm gonna call this an optional one

But I do find myself reaching for it often which is cardamom now cardamom is used a lot in

Scandinavian cooking but

It tends to be very expensive

It's also found in Indian cooking and a lot of Middle Eastern cooking

so it's something that if you if you only need it for one cookie recipe I say don't do it I

Say use your warm spices cinnamon clove and nutmeg and then add a little bit of grated lemon zest

And I think that you'll be good to go

It's not going to taste exactly like cardamom, but karna mom has a very unique flavor and in it again

It is very citrusy smelling and has a nice citrusy bite to it

There is no substitute for it, but there is a way that you can get around it

if you don't want to spend you know I've seen this as

expensive as

$14 for like a little container that may have two tablespoons in it now all of these spices do tend to be expensive

with the exception of the cinnamon, I like to buy my spices in bulk and

In big containers, and I do that from a variety of places

like

Sam's Club, I have a local restaurant supply that sells

Spices in bulk and they have very good prices

There are a couple of places that I buy from online

You can buy in bulk from Columbia spice company you can buy in bulk from

The spice barn I buy some things from them as well and the beautiful part about that is

You can buy a variety of different sizes or a variety of different

Amounts you don't have to buy like 10 pounds of everything you can buy

8 ounces or you can buy a full pound depending on what it is a lot of these places have

spices at really really good prices

But why do I want to talk about is the allspice because a lot of people think allspice is just oh

That's just it's allspice. It's it's like all spices blend it together, and it's not now I know in the UK

They sell something called mixed spice and that is a blended spice

of cinnamon clove nutmeg ginger sometimes allspice it just depends, but

we have our apple pie spice and our pumpkin pie spice and

That would be something that all of you folks in the UK

When you see pumpkin pie spice or apple pie spice and an American recipe you can just use mix spice

And that's gonna give you the same effect, but allspice is actually

the berry of

a tree

It comes from a tree that is called

The Pimenta or the jamaica Pimenta or the myrtle pepper is the dried?

unripe fruit or berry of the pimento Daioh

Dioica a mid canopy tree native to the Greater Antilles southern Mexico and Central America

Now cultivated in many warm parts of the world it does grow in a subtropical

environment the name allspice was coined as early as

1621 by the English who thought it combined the flavor of cinnamon nutmeg and cloves

So that is a little bit about allspice if you didn't know it. Those are my top six

baking spices or warm spices

For whatever you use them for these are gonna get a spot on my on my spice rack which I'm gonna

I'm in the process of redoing my whole spice rack

As you can see with new bottles and new labels and all of that

And then I wanted to share a little something with you guys

This is a silicon spice funnel, and this is one of the best $7 estimates. I ever made in my kitchen. I'm not joking

this has made it so easy to fill the salt and pepper shakers to fill these spice bottles without making a giant mess because

sometimes you don't you know your funnel the hole isn't big enough for the spices or the dried herbs to go into the bottle and

The

sometimes the powder

Spices will go in through the smaller funnel, but this makes it so much easier. I'm not joking and

Like right when you have spice blends like Italian seasoning or things that are larger like maybe you've dried

Flaked garlic or dried flaked onion things like that you can't get that through a smaller funnel

So this is super awesome. I'm gonna leave a link down below for you guys if you want to look into getting yourself one

Definitely consider it. It's it's really good for small bottles if you're filling them, and I just love mine

so I thought maybe you would like to know about that so that is my

Top six list for this week

Warm spices for the spice rack and for baking and for all kinds of other savory cooking. I hope you enjoyed it

What are some of your favorite baking spices?

it's the only way you're going to get access to the group because there's a lot of stuff going on over there a

Place where you can post pictures

When you make one of my recipes a place where you can share recipes with others place where you could ask questions?

And a place where we can foster

An environment of community and friendship, so I hope you'll go over
