A Wrinkle in Time Movie Review - Duration: 7:42.
ava duvernay 'he's a wrinkle in time is so well-intentioned and has such
beautiful moments that i can totally understand why critics were to loss for
words when the social media embargo lifted last week basically they decided
if they didn't have something nice to say they weren't gonna say anything at
all although today as the actual embargo lifts you can see that the inevitable
was only avoidable for so long and I suspect audiences by the way will be
just as conflicted because what does one say about a film that clearly has such
love in its heart yet the harsh reality is that as a film it is an utter failure
and I actually would go that far even though it pains me to do so now I would
say the best way to describe I ever do Veronese a wrinkle in time is as a
Michael Jackson music video without any of the awesome music or dance numbers
and I think the film would have benefited from such additions now some
of you might be like that's horrible grace how could you say that a wrinkle
in time needs music and dance numbers well once you see the movie you'll
understand that it would have fit perfectly especially with some of the
clear Bollywood influences in the costume and hair and makeup design
because it needs something I'll tell you that and the reason I referenced Michael
Jackson's music videos in particular is because they had very high production
values they were famous for this ornate and ambitious setups were chock full of
important messages and sometimes had awesome cameos but as stories made
little sense and were a bit too obvious that's a big problem here yes this
wrinkle in time is so concerned with message and inclusiveness and tries to
check so many boxes so many boxes it's like pick your battles Ava Duvernay and
screenwriter Jennifer Lee but because of that none of the characters seem real
because there isn't enough time to really establish any of them and
speaking of time Duvernay and again frozen screenwriter jennifer leigh take
a 250 a 256 page book with minimal illustrations and make it seem like
they're adapting a glossy short children's big picture book in
instead I also found it ironic speaking of adapting the source material that
while a wrinkle in time is supposed to celebrate women in science right the two
women who made it basically stripped all the science out of the story it's only
there and face value and on that and on that note it does seem like large chunks
of the film have been edited out it runs under two hours with bits like Meg for
example explaining traveling via the fifth dimension which we saw in the
second trailer cut out of the movie also to keep things speeding along at
breakneck speed really you're like Snowdown I'd like to spend some time in
this scene please really important things like the dramatic first entrance
of mrs. whatsit happen off-camera and as a result when you couple that with the
impressive yet still television level production values it makes the film's
far-flung theories even harder to swallow basically I just didn't believe
that any of this was happening I know it's a movie and it was you know I know
that it's shot in front of a green screen and it's VFX and it's fictional
but you know you're supposed to be able to take the journey with the characters
but you were like really you know like you just wouldn't believe it
right it seemed like child's play like it just seemed like a flight of fancy
that you just couldn't go along on so what's left with the science and most of
this story stripped away well and this is great there's a lovely theme about
loving yourself through the lens of a mixed-race nerdy girl like Meg who
doesn't see herself as beautiful or of any worth and her journey of gaining
self-confidence is the best thing in the movie and clearly what interested Ava
Duvernay and Jennifer Lee helping the story line a storm read as Meg a very
likeable actress and later on the movie albeit briefly she gets the chance to
show a little range as an actress as well I was impressed I was I got you
know it's a small little thing but she sold it it was one of the few moments in
the movie where I was like I like that and then Oprah Winfrey is the one who
helps her on this journey and their heart-to-heart conversation about
halfway through the film is the best thing in the film in fact it reminded me
of that recent powerful photo of the little
girl looking at Michelle Obama's official portrait at the National
Portrait Gallery that went viral and I just I thought that that's what this
movie has to offer that's the gift that is wrapped under all of this noise right
beautiful noise well-intentioned noise but that's that's the heart here I also
thought the VFX with giant Oprah was pretty cool and also very one of the few
believable moments in the movie I believe that Oprah was a giant walking
through the story who is cool Oprah also has the best makeup and
costume design or maybe it's that Oprah can just rock the look whereas I think
Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling struggled a little bit in that
department and they as for those two they had their moments but really they
underscored here that they are small screen talents you know Reese
Witherspoon not always but certainly these days but as for Derek McCabe he
takes precocious to a whole new level and I do not mean that in a good way he
posts considerable focus in the film away from Meg often to the point of it
seeming like his movie and he just he's the least real element in the movie he
feels like a total Hollywood construct really misguided I think they're trying
to accomplish certain things with his character but I think the the fakeness
of it and that he has no let layers and never seems like an actual person
there's like kind of a reveal about his character so I can understand why they
chose to make him so precocious but you know if you're gonna try to you know I'm
basically I think they're you know I think he's supposed to be a gay
character but I think a movie like loves Simon his farm is far more effective and
accomplishing anything here whereas this seems like tokenism and like we should
have moved past this kind of depiction at this point I don't think you're doing
any favors for that kind of representation by not making it such a
character seem real to have actual emotions and ups and downs etc alright
so as for the other male characters in this story well their roles are all very
small and very thinly constructed it's worth noting that Chris Pine Andre Hall
and Zach Galifianakis and Michael Pena are all able to do quite a lot with very
little each hitting impressive emotional beats but as for Levi Miller ouch
0 for 2 everything about his character from the
way Calvin is written to the way Miller portrays him rings false so again well a
wrinkle in time is very well-intentioned it's hard to believe that two people
with such strong films on their resume although frozen was a little bit of a
happy accident as we know from the behind the scenes story there but it's
still but still with those two films on their resume it's shocking to see them
fail so utterly and adapting this book I can't recommend it for theaters unless
unless and this is important you feel the message about self-love is one that
you or someone you know needs to hear and if that is the case then despite its
rampant flaws I think that a wrinkle in time will still be a very special movie
for you so at least it's got that going for it
so that's my review of a wrinkle in time I'm curious to hear your thoughts down

Trey Gowdy (R-SC) just made a shocking discovery about Attorney General Jeff Session's secret
plan to use his power for corruption.
Now, Gowdy is going public with what he knows and the one huge demand that he sent to the
Department of Justice.
In a drastic turn of events, Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC), who is the current House Intelligence
Committee Chairman, has changed his mind on a key subject involving Attorney General Jeff
Sessions' controversial decision to have Inspector General Michael Horowitz investigate
the corrupt deep state operatives within the FBI and the Department of Justice.
Sessions may have thought that no one realized what he was up to when he announced on Tuesday,
February 27, 2018, that his own department's Inspector General would investigate crimes
committed by corrupt agents in our government.
He could not have been more wrong, and "the bulldog" from South Carolina just sent him
a letter to prove it.
Gowdy and his colleague Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) sent a bold letter to Sessions on Tuesday,
March 6, 2018, telling him that a second special counsel is absolutely necessary to investigate
the Department of Justice and the FBI for their part in the FISA abuse scandal.
This was a change of heart for Gowdy, and wait until you hear why.
The two GOP Congressmen realized that Sessions was using his authority as Attorney General
to have Inspector General Michael Horowitz investigate the FISA abuse even though he
has no power to subpoena key players involved in the scandal who have already left the Department
of Justice and the FBI in addition to witnesses who never worked for either of those agencies.
Sessions' secret plan to let the deep state operatives off the hook by appointing a powerless
Inspector General had finally been exposed.
If Sessions' plan had worked, Inspector General Michael Horowitz would have conducted
his entire investigation without the ability to force corrupt deep state hacks such as
former FBI Director James Comey and former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe to talk.
The bottom line is that the Inspector General has no prosecutorial power.
Jeff Sessions is not a stupid man, he's just a very dishonorable man.
It's naive to think that Sessions was not aware of the limitations of the Inspector
General and the extent to which those limitations would benefit the criminals who carried out
highly illegal political surveillance on Donald Trump.
Sessions knew exactly what he was doing and should resign immediately for trying to abuse
his power.
A copy of the letter penned by Gowdy and Goodlatte was posted to Twitter on the House Oversight
Committee's page.
Following the release of the letter, Gowdy appeared on Fox News where he explained why
he changed his mind and now demands that Sessions appoint a second special counsel to investigate
the FISA abuse scandal.
"What changed for me was the knowledge that there are two dozen witnesses that Michael
Horowitz, the DOJ Inspector General, would not have access to," Gowdy said.
"When I counted up 24 witnesses that he would not be able to access were he to investigate
it, yeah only one conclusion, that's special counsel."

After seeing how Gowdy and Goodlatte counteracted Sessions' plan to let the Inspector General
perform a fruitless investigation into the FISA abuse scandal, it's quite obvious that
our Attorney General has sold out to the deep state.
In my opinion, Sessions is compromised in some way that makes him nothing more than
a puppet.
He continues to betray millions of American patriots for the benefit of individuals who
broke the law in order to carry out political surveillance for former President Barack Obama
and failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
Sessions should meet the demands of more honorable men and appoint a second special counsel,
and then he should step down

the carnivores it's nerve of ores I do what is just necessary so here you've
got a one at level one and here Allosaurus every in either room for this
at level one and then we're gonna go ahead here I got another carnivore this
is a Utahraptor at level 40 I got one at level 30 and a whole bunch now I'm gonna
start with my pterosaurs this guy's a pretty low level one I've got three of
them I'm blowing those guys because I created a bunch of hybrids with so here
we got arrow Titan one at level 20 and three other ones and then Pterodactylus
this guy's awesome super strong creatures currently unavailable which
you can't buy this guy because he is a VIP creature so I got one at level 30
and one at level 10 this is the level 31
okay then we're gonna keep on moving on okay trophy of rapturous again can next
crop the egg natus level 40 so this guy is a hybrid very freaky and here quits
the Codel s1 at level 41 at level 30 and 3 at level 1

these and get a bunch of coins but then once you get to a certain level they
give you a power so I could collect coins from like six or eight dinosaurs
at a time with those towers so I go ahead

I like how they made it so if you saw stop clicking on it it'll show

rest of the park okay so I've got some pretty decent one good Tyranno Titan I
also got Diplodocus and myself max this out I've got angry sore ass
and one more you do have to pay when you get past one so you don't want to hatch
Oh looks like the rest are common so I don't really want to pay to hatch common
dinosaur so anyway I could buy a solid-gold pack but I prefer to keep to

But if you had capital in your company to grow more quickly you might be increasing your
Sales and the number of uses of your solution by anything up to 30% a month
Wouldn't that be a heck of a lot better than actually getting growth of two or three customers a month
so that's why you need to raise capital so that you can have a
faster path to growth
Now the other reason why you might need to raise capital is you might be in an industry or a sector
Where you have competition that is rapidly coming up from behind you
You don't want to be overtaken by your competition
Which means you need to grow quicker than your competition and to do that you need capital?
So organic growth is probably going to see you wiped out by your competition
You actually need capital to grow quickly so that is probably
The second most common reason why you need to do a capital race?

What are the different types of capital so the different types of capital, so let's look at the first type which is?
Bootstrapping, which is you
funding your own start
Which means you've probably put in
$10,000 and $20,000 of your own money it might be $50,000 or $100,000 of your own money
But that's what bootstrapping is the longer you can bootstrap your company the better off
you're going to be because you're going to be in a stronger position to
raise capital
So the next is the three F's
Family, Friends and Fools as we call it in the industry
So that's usually where after you've bootstrapped it yourself
You're probably going to go to these people and you might ask them for a bit of money to put into your business
the third is
Angel Investors
So you might need to raise fifty thousand might only be twenty thousand it might be up to
$200,000
but that's sort of range from about $20,000 to $150,000 is the angel investor range and
That is the third most common and the third in sequence usually that you're going to go for
to raise capital
So the fourth is
Private Equity, now private equity can come from
Primarily two different sources one is high net worth individuals. These are wealthy individuals
that have over two million dollars in assets and

Second out of the private equity basket
Basically family offices, so family offices are
Families usually that have made
hundreds of millions of dollars in their own sector or in their own industry and they run a
professional company under their family office that basically invests all of the wealth that they've made in
new ventures often startups
So the fifth source of capital racing for startups is
Venture capital now. I'm not going to talk too much about venture capital
But suffice to say it's it's it's not an approach that I like nor many people do like
because with venture capital it's more than likely
that you are not going to meet your targets at some point and that VC firm is
Going to take a considerable amount of equity away from your company for you. Not meeting those targets
Which is one of the reasons why we also call it Vulture Capital so I wouldn't recommend venture capital
and I would definitely stick to
private equity through either family offices or high net worths
