Youtube daily Oct 3 2018

Sometimes, just because we can, doesn't mean we should.

In 1993, a breakthrough new technology gave scientists that path to experiment with genetic

editing.

The company's advancement in genetic research moves humans beings to the middle of the food

chain.

Years after discovery, an explorer is hired to collect the remaining research, but this

job comes with a price.

A life.

The research is collected, but the explorer dies during the mission.

After a multibillionaire company's stock plunges, the founding member of the company

salvages the remainder of the genetic research and invests their remaining resources into

the science to earn a buck.

In these movies, corporate tycoons are always the bad guys and move in secret.

The bad guys try to keep their dirty dealings under the radar, but it always ends up blowing

up in their faces.

The good guy in this movie trains wild animals.

He even becomes friends with one of the most dangerous ones.

Everything is going great until disaster strikes.

Fire and brimstone fall from the skies and it looks like a Roland Emmerich movie.

After this, the monsters show you their true colors and it's obvious they have to be

put down because they're way too dangerous to become domestic animals, but it doesn't

matter.

The idiot woman in the movie loves animals to a fault and thinks she could save them.

I'm not sure what she thought would happen, but it's obvious humans won't be able

to live with the creatures in peace.

We have a hard enough time living with each other.

I couldn't picture trying to reason with a monster that wants to eat me 24/7.

We later learn that humans exploit the scientific breakthroughs because they want to play God.

One of the former employees of the billion dollar company had selfish intents on using

the genetic research on their sick family member.

The bad guys send hunters after the wild animals.

At first the evil gunman hold their own.

They start shooting tranquilizer darts on their prey like ba da da da dat ba da da da

dat ba da da da dat dat dat, but later on, the hunters become the hunted and all of the

gunman die to death when the animals get the last laugh.

The worst fatality belongs to the leader.

The hunter doesn't notice the animal sneaking up behind him.

He relaxes and then ahhh!

He gets chewed up like a sunflower seed.

Human beings have always had a control problem since the dawn of mankind.

They try to control and monsters and that's where they mess up.

Scientists create a signal that they feel can command the savages (audio).

The bad guys also try to keep the beasts in cages, but that doesn't even work and they

break out way too easily.

The wild animals are on the loose and scale the tall building.

Meanwhile, the humans visit the lab and witness what's left of the research.

Shortly after, they're met by the evil rich character.

The bad guy starts monologuing like a Pixar villain.

Not only does the monologue cause the good guys to live longer, but unfortunately, it

causes the bad guy to die quicker.

The beasts chops up the bad guy and just when you think that's the end of the movie, it's

not.

The bad monster is after the good guys and the good monster jumps in the fight to save

the humans.

They fight to the death and the underdog wins after the favorite gets stabbed and dies to

death right after that.

When the battle is over, humans still haven't learned their lesson.

Instead of killing the animals that caused on the casualties, they let the survivors

off the hook which is stupid, but leaves the door open for a sequel which I'm pretty

sure that's what they were trying to do.

Those are 24 reasons these movies are the same.

You agree?

Yes, no, maybe so?

Your Daily Writing Schedule (Writer Wednesdays) [CC] - Duration: 4:39.

Hello Writer, and welcome back to my life.

It's Writer Wednesday, where I give you my tips and advice on the art and the business

of writing, and tell you how I do what I do as an indie author.

Today we're answering a question from one of my five dollar patrons on Patreon, who

are able to request show topics and who get these videos two weeks before anyone else.

Today's question comes to us from patron Gerald Hornsby, who asks: how do you handle

your daily writing schedule?

Do you do it at a specific time, or when you can?

Thanks for the question, Gerald.

A daily writing schedule has been the bane of many a writer's existence, and none more

so than me.

The first part of the answer is that you don't necessarily HAVE to have a daily writing schedule.

Plenty of authors don't.

My opinion on this has varied wildly over the years.

I used to think that if you weren't writing every day, at the same time every day, then

you just weren't "serious" about being an author.

I also used to think that waiting for "inspiration" before you started writing was pretentious

and something no serious author would do.

And on THAT point...well, I guess I'm still a little bit on the fence about it.

But here's the thing.

Some people say they have to be "inspired" to write, as an excuse for why they don't.

If you've been trying to write for years and you haven't even finished a single novel

because you only write when you're "inspired," that's one thing.

But if someone sits down on Wednesday, looks at the manuscript, and says, "Nope, I'm

not feeling it today," but they DID write on Monday, and Tuesday, and they write again

on Thursday, that's something else.

There's a difference between waiting for some sort of divine influence to sweep down

upon you and move YOU into the chair to start typing, and occasionally realizing that, you

know what?

It's just not happening today.

To some degree, it's a mindset thing.

Because of the nature of my work and the nature of the entire indie publishing industry, I

have to have a pretty results-focused mindset.

Either I'm writing, or I'm not.

The pudding's proof isn't to be found in how I FEEL, but whether I'm finishing

books and how good they are at the end of the process.

What it comes down to is control.

Now, control can have some bad connotations, but that's not what we're talking about

here.

What we're talking about is whether or not YOU are in control of your writing schedule,

whether or not YOU are able to exert some causative influence over it.

My previous hardline attitude that you had to write every single day, at the same time

every day, was extremely unhealthy for me.

Because if I missed my "start time" because of circumstances I couldn't control, I felt

like crap, and I was more likely not to write at ALL that day.

And it also didn't allow me to do anything else.

Like, doing the live shows at the Farmers Market we've been doing recently?

Exhibiting at a convention?

That's not possible with a daily writing schedule.

And so, in trying to control myself so rigidly, I actually reduced my ability to control my

own schedule and do other things that are also beneficial to me, both as an author and

as a person.

Okay, so all that being said: a daily writing schedule that starts at the same time every

day and goes for the same length of time every day, is EXTREMELY beneficial to me, and has

been extremely beneficial to other authors as well.

The most words I ever wrote in a period of time was a three-day period in 2015 where

I wrote 50,000 words.

And on those three days, I got up at the exact same time, absolutely refused to look at my

phone before starting work, started writing on schedule, and did not leave my chair until

I was done writing for the day.

I am always striving for that level of consistency and that level of production.

I know that a regular schedule benefits me, which in turn benefits the company and everyone

who works for us.

But I also know that I cannot sustain THAT level of production forever, or even for a

very lengthy period of time.

And so I've had to learn not to feel badly or punish myself when I don't hit those

numbers every time.

I find that it helps to take a higher-altitude view of your productivity and your schedule.

The day-to-day is less important than the trend.

I mostly view my writing productivity on a monthly basis now.

Did I put my butt in the chair for more hours this month than last month, and more importantly,

did I write as many words in those hours?

If the answer is yes, I tend not to sweat my daily schedule quite as hard.

If the answer is no, I try to course-correct back to basics.

More priority on butt in the chair and work being done, less priority on the millions

of other things that come with running a small publishing company.

And that comes back to being focused on results.

Figure out what result you're going for.

For me, it's number of words per month.

But when you're just starting out, you might care about number of words per week.

Track your production.

And if you're not seeing the number of words you write each week trend upward over time,

change something.

Go for a daily writing schedule that starts at the same time every day.

Or if you've already been doing that, try changing what time of day you DO write.

Or try writing for longer periods.

Or try writing for shorter periods, but multiple times a day.

Different things work for different people.

Remember that you are trying to find the solution that works for you, and which you can CONTROL.

It's useless to worry about the fact that you're not starting every day at 5:00am

just like that one successful indie author you've heard about, if you CAN'T start

writing at that time because of work, or family, or whatever circumstances in your life.

Solicit as much advice as you can from as many sources as you can.

Try all of it.

And keep doing whatever you can use in your writing schedule, daily or not, that improves

your results.

That's all I've got for you today, writer.

Thanks so much to Gerald for today's question!

I hope you and others found the answer helpful.

A reminder once again to the rest of you that Gerald and my other five dollar patrons are

the ONLY ones who can ask me question to cover in these videos, AND they get to see them

two weeks before anybody else!

Exclusive Interview

안녕, 안녕

Olá! (Hello in portuguese)

Hi everyone, I'm Naira from KoreaIN and we are here with SF9!

Hello

Let's introduce ourselves! 2, 3

Feeling Sensation. Hello, we are SF9! (in portuguese)

Wow! In portuguese!

So you had 2 fanmeetings in Brazil and it's your first time here, in a country so far away.

How are you feeling, being in such a distant country?

We are very happy to be here in Brazil. It's really a passion country, we like it a lot.

What did you think about brazilians and latin fans, who are known for being very loud and passionate

It was very exciting receiving all that love on stage. We wanna come back again for sure.

So please come back again. We will wait for you all

Thank you (in portuguese)

What was the biggest memory you will bring to Korea from Brazil?

Our meeting with fans was the most memorable for us

It was very warm!

Warm (in portuguese)

So we will have a little game so you can get to know more about brazilian music

The name is "What's this song?"

You will work on teams with 3 members each.

Each team will listen to a brazilian song and will try to make me guess which song is it

Start!

Silence please

It hasn't started yet

You have to sing so she can guess it

This is cool!

Really?

You can't only keep listening to it

That's because we can't hear

You can feel the passion

I really like this song

You can try singing it

Can I copy him?

Yes

There's only this

Really?

There's only "tan, tan"?

Wait a minute

I don't think it's it

Do you know it?

I think I know it

So easy

I must do it

No one can guess it right

Why can't I understand?

What's with the americano?

I know this song!

I don't know it

This isn't easy to sing along

That's it

You did it right

Zuho will do it

Let's check how fun he is

I don't know it too

Show us how much chorus it has

Our hard working composer

Photographer, writer, composer!

And everything else...

This one looks easy too!

Ok, let's go!

You have to repeat it now!

Is it that funny?

Let's put the titles in our songs like that from now on

It's easy!

I had an inspiration right now

You have to insert some characteristic words in the lyrics of the songs

I guessed it all right

I wanna know what do they think about those songs

There is always some key point in the song. A word that keeps repeating and it's catchy

And the rhythm makes you wanna dance

We will have to write a lot that kind of lyrics

We would like them to leave a message for the fans that went to their concert and also for those who couldn't see them this time

This time we had 2 fanmeetings in Brazil and we are very happy to go back to Korea with such a good memory

We will work hard so we can come back again. Also, we are very thankful for everyone who went to see us

For those who couldn't go, we will see each other next time, and we will be even cooler

So that's it! If you like this video, please give your thumbs up, subscribe and also keep watching SF9 forever

Bye ~

7 Health Myths that Dietitians Hate|HFE♪ - Duration: 8:51.

7 Health Myths that Dietitians Hate

To be healthy, you have to follow a balanced diet that includes all of the food groups in order to avoid nutritional deficiencies.

There are plenty of theories on how to live a healthy life.

Most of these "health myths" aren't backed up or they've even been proven to not work.

Below, we'll show expose some of those incorrect beliefs about being healthy and offer some recommendations on how to really live healthier.

Popular Healthy Myths that Really Aren't True 1.

Eggs have a lot of cholesterol Eggs are a source of cholesterol, which is why one of the myths about being healthy states that we should avoid eggs in order to reduce the risk of cardiac diseases.

However, eggs have an impressive list of vitamins and minerals.

They provide a large amount of health benefits, from weight loss to a healthy vision and strong muscles.

Recommendation You can include eggs as a part of a balanced diet.

The key lies in moderation.

Most healthy people can eat an egg a day with no problem.

Following a gluten-free diet means healthier eating Gluten is a protein that we can find in wheat, barley, and rye.

Gluten-free diets are normally directed for people who have celiac disease or are sensitive to gluten.

If you don't have these kinds of health problems but still avoid gluten, you might miss out on the vitamins, fiber and minerals that you need for a balanced diet.

One of the myths about being healthy that you should toss is that gluten-free diets are a weight-loss diet. They're not.

Recommendation For people who don't have celiac disease, a balanced diet should contain gluten foods that have whole grains.

What you should avoid are processed flours and commercial breads, because they have high amounts of sugar.

Diet foods are good for weight loss Foods that are labelled as "diet" products are often low in both fat and carbohydrates in addition to being sweetened artificially, which presumably makes them good for weight loss.

However, just because they're low in fat and carbohydrates doesn't always mean that they're also low in calories.

So, if you're trying to lose weight, eating these diet products could actually be counterproductive.

Recommendation Always check the labels on "diet" or "light" products. Pay especially close attention to their calorie content and compare it to the calorie content of its non-diet counterpart.

Red meat is bad for your health It's true that red meat is associated with a higher risk of heart disease.

However, one of the myths about being healthy is that all meats lead to this problem.

In reality, you'll only suffer the health consequences if you eat lard, meats that have a high fat content or fried meat.

Remember that red meat is a good source of proteins, vitamin B12, collagen, iron and zinc.

Recommendation Instead of completely cutting out red meat from your diet, chose leaner cuts that have the least amount of fat possible.

Supply your meat intake with other varieties of protein sources such as poultry, eggs, legumes, fish and seafood.

Granola is a healthy breakfast Despite its reputation of being a healthy breakfast food, we should think of granola more as a dessert.

Even though it contains a mix of whole grains, it also normally includes honey and fruit.

A high sugar diet is linked to a greater risk for a variety of serious diseases that range from diabetes and cardiac diseases to even cancer.

Recommendation Replace granola for cups of cooked oats.

Try adding walnuts and other nuts to the oats for some crunch.

You can also make your own granola with a small amount of sugar and fruits to keep the calories under control.

You only have to worry about portions if you want to lose weight Eating healthy and losing weight doesn't mean denying yourself of eating healthy and delicious meals.

Another myth about being healthy is that portions are the only things you have to think about when cooking and portioning your meals.

Instead of focusing on the size and calories of your portions, you should carefully chose foods that are nutritionally rounded.

Following a a diet that doesn't leave you hungry, guilty or lacking in nutrients will ensure sound nutrition and weight loss that's easier to maintain over the long-term.

Recommendation Don't go hungry.

If you want to lose weight and keep it off, keep track of the carbohydrates that you're eating.

Eating high-fat foods makes you fat Yes, it's true that foods that are rich in healthy fats contain more calories.

However, we also need them to stay fuller for longer as well as to help us control our junk food cravings.

Fat contains more calories per gram than carbohydrates and protein do.

However, we still need fats, especially essential fats, in our diet.

Healthy fats make you feel fuller even with smaller portions.

They also reduce cravings and boost metabolism.

Recommendation Opt for high-quality vegetable fats, seeds and nuts.  Avoid fried foods or foods with trans fats at all costs.

Forget about these health myths As you can see, there are plenty of myths that revolve around our diets and lifestyles.

Remember that the secret to being healthy is staying away from miracle diets and not eliminating essential food groups from your diet.

If you have any personal questions related to health problems or lifestyle, make an appointment with your nutritionist.
