Youtube daily Jan 8 2019

Hello and welcome to Crash Course: Navigating Digital Information.

My name is John Green, and you may know me from my various channels on YouTube, all caps

tweets about Liverpool Football Club, Q&As about books on my website, or elsewhere on

the internet.

I spend a /lot/ of time online.

In fact, in some ways, I live here.

The average American spends 24 hours per week online, but one in four U.S. adults say that

they are online almost constantly.

And I am among them.

I love the Internet--it contains so much helpful information; it connects us to each other;

it allows more people to have a voice in public conversations.

But of course, the Internet is also littered with misleading, sensationalized, and downright

false information.

So, OK.

I only know two jokes.

I'll tell the other one at the end of the series, but here's the first one, which

was made famous by the American writer David Foster Wallace:

Two young fish are swimming along one day when an older fish swims past and says, "'Morning,

kids.

How's the water?'

The young fish just look at each other for a second and then swim on for a while, and

then one says to the other, 'What the heck is water?'"

Now I am not the wise old fish of this enterprise.

I am as susceptible to misleading information as anyone.

I tend to focus on information that reinforces my pre-existing worldview, and to passively

ingest all kinds of media while scrolling and swiping endlessly through my feeds.

But I also think we ought to be suspicious of anyone who claims to be the wise old fish

with some special understanding of what we're swimming in.

Believing that you're immune to the seductions of false and misleading information is, if

anything, a symptom of being influenced by false and misleading information.

I tell this joke for two reasons: First, because I need you to call me out if I start acting

like the wise old fish, and second, to point out that much of what we're swimming in

is new and strange--and we're still figuring it out together.

So, for this series, Crash Course has teamed up with MediaWise, a project out of the Poynter

Institute that was created with support from Google.

The Poynter Institute is a non-profit journalism school.

The goal of MediaWise is to teach students how to assess the accuracy of information

they encounter online.

The MediaWise curriculum was developed by the Stanford History Education Group based

on civic online reasoning research that they began in 2015.

Other MediaWise project partners include the Local Media Association and the National Association

for Media Literacy Education.

I'm saying all that, and I'll say it again, because I think it's important to understand

where this information about information came from.

Over the next ten episodes, we're going to dive deeply into the feed and share some

tools that are proven to work when it comes to evaluating the quality and accuracy of

information.

We may not figure out exactly what water is, but we're going to try to learn to improve

our swimming.

Stan, have we rolled the intro yet?

We're MULTIPLE minutes into the video.

Roll the intro!

INTRO When you want to see what your friends are

up to, you might head to Snapchat, WhatsApp, Instagram or maybe /Fin/stagram.

I don't get that joke but young people in the office said that it is funny.

And then when you want the news, you may wait to be startled by a push alert from a news

app, or you might go to twitter, or snapchat, or reddit.

And when you need to settle a feud over how to pronounce g-i-f, or possibly gee-i-f, you

just use a search engine.

These habits all feel quite natural to me, but in fact they are part of a huge shift

in how humans find, and produce, and share information.

Just a short time ago, the production of information was controlled by a much smaller group of

people.

Instead of Googling movie times, you had to buy a newspaper or call the movie theater

and risk talking to an actual human being.

To write a research paper, you had to hunker down in the library, not for the outlets and

the free Wifi but for the access to Encyclopedias and books.

Now I should note that there's a lot of information that's not available online,

and that is available at your library.

Libraries continue to be incredibly valuable resources.

But these days, anyone can hop online and produce information via their personal website,

social media, or YouTube channel.

Well, actually, no.

Access to digital devices and high-speed Internet is still a real barrier to entry for many

people, which means unequal access to information.

It also means that while it can feel like everyone is participating in facebook or instagram,

in fact billions of people are not part of those conversations.

Still, the barrier for creating and retrieving information is much lower than it was a generation

ago.

Like, when I was a kid, if you wanted to share an opinion with the public, you wrote a letter

to the newspaper and hoped they would publish it.

There was no other way for a stranger to hear your story or your perspective.

Furthermore, as you already know from the three DMs you've answered since you started

this video, the internet changed how we communicate.

We can talk across time and space.

We can connect across geographical and political boundaries, we can create organizations and

communities, find people with similar interests, or we can lift people up when they feel alone.

But, when information flows this freely, dangers are inevitable.

Misinformation -- unintentionally incorrect information -- and disinformation -- information

that's wrong on purpose -- spread quickly online.

As do hate speech and propaganda.

Plus, we can easily create online worlds where we only see information we already agree with,

or that lines up with our point of view.

For instance, if I only followed people on Twitter who were Team Blake, I would have

been pretty blindsided when Garrett won The Bachelorette.

The same could be said for, say, actual elections.

And because we use information for all kinds of decisions, misinformation and disinformation

are powerful.

This is true for small everyday decisions--restaurant reviews affect where we eat--and for much

larger issues, like choosing a college to attend or a place to work..

The quality of our information directly shapes the quality of our decisions.

And the quality of our decisions, of course, shapes the quality of our shared experience

as humans So, when we talk about [air quotes] "bad"

or questionable information, that includes fake news.

The kind of news reporting that is /totally/ false.

Which is a huge problem, especially on social media and during breaking news events.

And it's a problem across all political ideologies and perspectives.

But we're not just talking about fake news.

We're also talking about information that isn't credible because the author of that

content isn't an authority on the topic.

Take a blog of serious-sounding fitness tips from someone who loves gym selfies but isn't

qualified to give professional health advice.

We're also talking about information that comes from writers or organizations that have

something to lose from the whole truth.

Like a company that sells toasters creating BestToasters.com to publish lists of the "best"

toasters, with their brand at the top of every list.

Or friends who conveniently find videos that supposedly [air quotes] "prove" gif is

pronounced gif when you know that gif is pronounced gif.

But the thing is, quality of information lies on a spectrum.

It's not a duality, good information and bad information.

It is our job to evaluate the information that we receive, find out where it falls on

that spectrum, and decide how to use it going forward.

But as a species, we are not particularly good at judging the quality of information

on the internet.

In fact, we've always been bad at it.

In 2002, a study with over 2,000 participants[1] reported that a website's /design/ was the

most frequently mentioned factor in judging a website's credibility.

When asked to choose which of two sites was more credible, 46% of participants used the

look of the website in their evaluations.

Adults and young people alike still typically evaluate information based on factors unrelated

to its content: how it looks, whether they've used it before or who referred them to it.

In 2016, our friends at the Stanford History Education Group released a study of over 7,000

middle school, high school, and college students.

When asked to evaluate online information, they based their evaluations on a site's

look and feel.

They focused on things that a website creator could easily change, like the URL or the About

page.

Spoiler alert: that technique doesn't work well.

One of the things that participants had to do was judge minimumwage.com, a site about

-- you guessed it -- the minimum wage.

It claimed to bust myths behind the minimum wage, listing ways that raising it would hurt

the economy.

Many students never discovered that that site was by a public relations firm working for

a group that wants to keep minimum wages low.

The firm represents industries that stand to benefit from paying employees less.

In other words, the creator of this website has something to lose by telling both sides

of the minimum wage debate.

So we can't fully trust them to do so.

Let's go to the Thought Bubble.

During the study, some students also felt the presence of certain types of content on

a website meant that it was more reliable.

Like, when students found something they thought was evidence on a page --

a statistic or an anecdote, perhaps -- they assumed that meant the entire page was

more reliable.

And they often didn't check the sources, because, you know, it's the Internet.

People never check sources.

For example, participants also looked at an article that was actually an advertisement

for Shell Oil[2].

70% of high school students rated it as more reliable than a traditional news story.

Why?

Because of this pie chart at the top.

Statistics and infographics are often easy and effective ways to communicate facts and

evidence.

But that doesn't mean all charts are trustworthy.

Like, here's another chart.

It says that, 96% of the time, the sky is green.

The /existence/ of this chart is no more proof of its validity than, say, a spooky noise

is proof that your house is haunted.

But back to the Stanford History Education Group study.

Over 80% of middle school students didn't correctly identify that this was an ad, either,

even though it was labeled "Sponsored Content."

Sponsored content means a company paid the publication for a space on its site, hoping

to advertise with a post that /looks/ like a news article.

And as you may know, sponsored content shapes a lot of discourse on YouTube.

And it's effective advertising, because many of us can't help but believe that what

looks like a news article must in fact be one.

Thanks, Thought Bubble.

You might argue that the students in that study are still learning.

They'll probably be better at it when they get older.

Well, the Stanford History Education Group also tested historians with PhDs, first year

college students from a pretty fancy university, and professional fact checkers from major

news organizations.

Fact checkers are the people who go through each bit of copy in a news story to make sure

that all the facts are accurate.

There are far too few of them in this world.

But anyway, how effectively would you guess these three groups evaluated information quality?

Although both the professors and the students have achieved academic success and are smart,

thoughtful people, they also didn't do well with the experiment.

When evaluating online sources, they also focused on superficial things like the sites'

layout, how much content the site had, and whether it linked to other sites.

They focused largely on appearance and the /presence/ of things like evidence and links,

not their content or their value.

And those strategies might have worked in the early days of the internet, but things

are much more complicated, and there are many misleading or false stories cite sources that

either don't say what they're purported to say, or are themselves also false.

It's misinformation all the way down.

So, who /did/ sort out the misinformation from the good info?

The fact-checkers!

I mean, that is literally their jobs, but it's nice to know they were good at it.

The fact-checkers did well because they employed a variety of carefully honed skills to decipher

fact from fiction.

And we are going to learn those skills together from the fact-checkers in the next episode.

Also the one after that, and the one after that and the one after that.

We're going to fact checker school!

- What's more important?

The crush or the work?

So the guy or the work?

I would say focus on your work and the masses

will come honey!

Okay first of all she's your boss,

you can't tell her anything.

She doesn't have time to listen to you.

Maybe dress more like me.

More of a modest fashion.

And ask her, maybe take the time to write,

maybe write her a note,

or ask her personal assistant or first person next to her

what she would prefer you to dress like.

I don't know what you're dressing like,

but if your boss is saying that it might be bad.

Super expensive juices?

Okay, that's your first problem.

First of all you could have worse thieves in your life.

I would invest in working harder and getting a small fridge.

Next to your desk.

That you store everything is yours.

And label your stuff so it's your shit.

And nobody can touch it.

Simple.

Or buy less expensive juices.

Make your own.

I'm scared for you already.

I would write a strong apology.

I mean immediately.

That's mean.

And check your CC's.

(laughing)

This is funny, sorry.

Look at him in the eyes and tell him,

that's really gross.

First problem.

Go girl.

I mean you're kinda screwed.

Uh.Hmm.

Go to work really early the next day and the second everyone

puts their phone down for a second, they turn their head,

take all their phones,

make sure they haven't posted anything.

And then run.

(mouth snapping)

Maybe less encouragement and more listening and trusting

your boss 'cuz I am your boss, aren't I?

(laughing)

- [Man] Mic drop?

No mic drop.

Card drop.

I hope that my long journey in my life has helped you

a little bit.

(laughing)

I hope my time was worth your while.

'Grown-ish' Cast on Their College Party Playlist, Crazy Roommates & More! | Dive-In | MTV News - Duration: 4:45.

- What's the craziest thing your roommate has ever done?

- Halle and I are roommates, right?

- Yeah, you guys are roommates.

- Oh, that's true.

- The craziest thing, like not cleaning up.

- That's crazy.

- Get off the stage.

- Hey, y'all this is the cast of, Grown ish.

Francia is here in spirit and we're going to dive in,

with MTV news.

(urban music)

- Okay, okay, what songs would definitely be on your

college party playlist?

- The issue is, I'm always mediocre with the turn up,

like I always be like, James Blake when everyone's

trying to get excited.

- But she'll come up with artists, she'll be like,

his name is yellow chair.

I'm like, "what"?

Who's this new, who's this new artist?

" Oh, his name is yellow chair, he hales from the islands".

And it'll be a dope song, I'm like I've never

heard this guy, but yellow chair is good.

- I think what also really nice, is that we have

a very musical set, so we're usually pretty set.

- She'll play the whole discography of why be in the mirror.

(laughing)

- Do not expose me.

(laughing)

- Ladies and gentlemen, we got them.

(urban music)

- Alright guys name three must have items

for your dream college dorm?

- Ramen noodles, condoms.

Can I get one more thing, get one more thing

in the dorm room?

PlayStation 4.

- I feel like you'd have a guitar in there.

- Yeah

- That's automatic, that comes with the room.

(laughing)

I feel like a really soft blanket.

(urban music)

- What's the most embarrassing first day of

school story you're willing to admit?

- It's not embarrassing, but I snuck my Kobe Bryant

shoes that my mom wouldn't let me take.

Put them in my backpack, got there for the school

pictures, put them and held my foot up this high.

(laughing)

Just so you can see the shoes.

- First day of school in America, try to kiss

somebody on the cheek to say hello and they

try to fight me.

(laughing)

- If you had to trade places with any character on the show,

who would it be and why?

- Vivek, I would trade places, because he has

the most bread.

- Gucci wardrobe.

- Gucci wardrobe, he's set.

- And you'd be a drug dealer.

- I would be one of the Forrester's,

because I always wanted to be a college athlete.

- Oh, which one?

- Oh my Gosh, might be, Jazz.

She's got this bite, you know, that I just don't

think that I have in my usual personality.

- So nobody wants to be me, that's good.

- What's one thing you personally what to

accomplish in 2019?

- Oh, I got that one; hashtag year of the back flip.

- Yep

- I told you, I can teach you that in a day.

- You can teach me that, in a day?

- I can literally teach you how to back flip

in a day, I'll take you to my guy.

The guy, yes, my trainer.

- We normally always like, vision board on the

first of every year, but we where on the airplane,

so I still write mine down.

But in general, I just want to align myself

to my higher spiritual self this year, and be happier.

(laughing)

- What's in your breakup survival kit?

- If I'm really going through a breakup,

I think a dad call.

I'll call my dad for sure.

- That's nice.

- That's sweet.

And deleting social media.

- I don't know about that?

Because you can miss out on the next, by deleting that.

She can help you in your slumber and then,

in your slump and then you guys.

- I guess that's an invite.

- If I'm going through a breakup, just hit me up,

ask me about what happened and I'll tell you

and we can bond over that.

- What's your favorite sequel?

- Grown ish II.

(laughing

- Lion King 1 1/2, was incredible.

That was such a good movie.

- Yeah, very underrated.

- We're really thinking hard

- The Dark Knight, the Dark Knight.

That's the best sequel of all times.

- The Godfather, the second one.

- It wasn't the first one though.

- No

(laughing)

- Pass, pass.

(laughing)

- Last one, let's do one more.

- Who is your favorite fictional couple of all time?

- Mickey and Mallory, from "Natural Born Killers".

- I know, Nick Cannon and Christina Milan in,

"Love Don't Cost a Thing".

- What?

(laughing)

And Zoe Saldana and Nick Cannon in, "Drum line".

- My favorite fictional couple that never happened,

that should have happened; is Harry Potter

and Hermione Granger.

And they need to make a new movie where actually happens.

What about Zac Efron and Vanessa Hutchinson?

(laughing)

- Yes, yes, oh I love that, oh my God.

There we go, that's the win, that's the win.

Zahna "Red For War" / Behind The Lyrics, Episode 1: "Unshaken" - Duration: 4:24.

Hey you guys thank you so much for joining me today for behind the lyrics on my debut album "Red For War"

In total,

as a collective of all these different songs is

Basically a statement about believing in yourself, despite all odds it's about waging war

Against things that come against you

Against your purpose, your vision, your life.

It's about taking control and fighting back and having confidence to stand your ground

Even when things are coming at you, coming against you, and everything seems to be impossible.

So, I want to dig in a little bit. We're gonna start with number one "Unshaken."

So some of you guys may know my previous history. Writing "Unshaken" was such a

Turning point for me.

It was at a point in my life when I had just lost my previous band, a whole

Two years worth of work of recording a new album kind of went down the drain and at the same time,

In the beginning of 2017 when all of this was happening. I was actually diagnosed with a disease called Medullary Kidney Disease,

where your kidneys are basically starting to shut down

because of biological factors in your genetics

And so while I was in the midst of this time, I was debating on

this

this chance this opportunity to become a solo artist, you know,

It was a very difficult time because the band had just broken up. There was a lot of

Feelings. it wasn't exactly amicable. And so

there was a lot of

Emotional unrest in me, not to mention this all life-altering news that now I have this disease and

so when I was contacting my producer and I

was starting to create the plans to become Zahna, a solo artist, I

talked to Joshua Bertrand, my producer, and he gave me a song that had no vocals on it yet

but it was a killer song with crazy riffs and

Pounding drum elements and I told him I need this song. I want to write to this song. So give it to me

We'll put it on the new record and I started writing it and I remember

being in the hospital

On January 4th, my birthday, of 2017 all by myself

and I was going through some procedures that I had to stay overnight for and I remember feeling

just so

Angry at the devil. I was so angry and I was so on fire because all I wanted to do was just

Rip out these IVs and go and record this song

I was writing called "Unshaken" and so "Unshaken" is really about a

declaration of standing your ground

against all odds. And I knew that becoming a solo artist was a risky venture and I knew that

There was a lot of things against me at that point, but it was about standing my ground and you know

Declaring that I was gonna make it, that this disease is not gonna kill me,

I'm gonna still be able to tour. I'm going to live out my dream no matter what odds are against me right now.

So "Unshaken," like I said is a declaration of war

Against things that oppose you: against the enemy, against any opposition,

And it's meant to empower. It talks about Jesus,

having the blood of the Christ, and being able to to take on anything because of that because of what we have in our life.

So that's "Unshaken" for you guys. It is a war cry and a big theme of "Red For War."

Thanks for tuning in you guys, this has been "Behind The Lyrics," with Zahna, my debut album "Red For War." We'll see you next time.

How to Master Selling on the Phone (AND START MAKING MONEY) - Duration: 9:19.

service-based business owners listen up because no matter how far our businesses

go in the online space when people are making multi-thousand dollar investments

in a product service or program they want human touch they want customization

and they want to know that there's a real person behind them in the buying

process if you want to consistently close more prospects over the phone or

maybe have your team do it for you watch this entire video because by the end

you're gonna have multiple super strategies that you can use right away

to get higher conversion rates over the phone and make more sales

faster watch this video until the end because I'm gonna offer you the

opportunity to grab your copy of the do's and don'ts guide to selling on the

fly that you can print out keep next to your phone or on your desk and it's

gonna help you get a better result every time you get a prospect on the phone

my name is Kellie roach business growth coach and I have helped thousands of

entrepreneurs from around the world to make six and seven figure leaps in their

business with the strategies I teach including the one that you are about to

learn today okay so let's dive into the super strategies that I promise that are

gonna help you to get those conversions where after over the phone so number one

drop the pitch and make it about them that's right the biggest thing I hear

from entrepreneurs when they're about to get on the phone with the prospect is

what do I say how's my pitch can I practice exactly how I'm going to sell

my program and what I tell them over and over again is that it's not going to be

your pitch that determines whether or not this person buys from you it's

really gonna be how well do you listen acknowledge and explore them their

situation their concerns and are you able to translate your offer to be a

custom solution for them and that brings us to step number two which is if you

want someone to buy from you you cannot give them a canned offer that is an

across-the-board solution that you've put in front of twenty other people

before them even if they're coming to you for the same problem being solved as

the last fifteen people that you talk to don't put a template and offer in front

of someone that you just heard their custom situation their problems what

they need help with when you then go back and put an offer in front of them

that's either a blanket statement or a template a boilerplate of an offer all

it screams to them is you don't listen and you don't care I just had this

happen to me in the buying process for selecting a new website designer

forgiver courage my other company and I can tell you I was immediately turned

off and we went with a different service provider and this happens all the time

so number one drop the pitch because it's not about you anyway focus on

listening number two customize customize customize what does that mean it means

listen and explore where they are in their process and exactly where you need

to meet them in order to help them cross the bridge the solution that they want

when you reiterate back to them which is step number three there are hot buttons

there biggest ones and needs and their criteria for buying it should be

specific and if you don't close on the spot over the phone and you use a

proposal process in order to close clients this is even more important for

you so number three number three I want you to focus on reiterating back to them

the top three concerns that they have right now the top three things that are

stressing them out frustrating or overwhelming them that made them decided

to talk to you in the first place what are the problems that they want to solve

why is it urgent to them and what is it going to take to get them to buy you can

ask someone directly you know what exactly is going into your decision on

who you're gonna work with to solve this problem what is most important to you

when you make a selection on someone to work with on this and when you do that

you create a breakthrough in their mind because no one else is asking these

questions you automatically position yourself as caring more but also being

more knowledgeable and being able to provide a better more custom solution

that meets their needs not just a boilerplate or a overarching set of

processes that may or may not meet them where they are in the process so my

question for you now is which of these three are you gonna get started on right

away which one of you maybe been missing in your phone calls is it they're

dropping the pitch and focusing on listening is it reiterating back their

top three wants and needs and asking those tough questions about what they're

buying criteria is gonna be and what's gonna go into their process to buy you

know or is it customizing your proposal or your proposition to meet them where

they are and take what you offer and translating it to meet exactly where

they are in the process to help them take that next step

comment below and let me know a 1 2 or a 3 or maybe all three if you know these

are things you haven't been doing or your team hasn't been doing that you

want to get them started on right away alright so now you have strategies that

are going to help you move through the process and actually get the

person that's on the phone with you to really believe that you are the person

that they should choose to work with you are the person that can solve their

problems you are the person that cares so now let's bring it all full circle

you've connected with your customer on an emotional level they know that you

can help them and now the question of price comes in so now I want to give you

three rubber meets the road strategies to deal with pricing objections that are

gonna help you get this ball across the finish line for a touchdown okay here we

go number one before you give the price make sure you share multiple client

success stories of people that have been in their shoes have the same problem

that they've had and how you help them to get the result that this person is

after so you have to build up your reputation in their mind and make it

very forefront for them about how other people are getting these results and

other people are having success in these areas and that you're the person that

can help them to do the same thing okay that's number one number two remember

that you have to bring them back to their pain before you go into price P

before P pain before price so before you jump into a conversation about how much

it's gonna cost to solve this problem make sure you go back to well why is it

important for them to solve this problem anyway how long is this problem

persisted what has it cost them what does it prevented them from doing being

enjoying experiencing bring them back to the Y and then finally to hit the nail

on the head and get this prospect to become a paying customer you need to

sell the result and quantify the value y is what you're charging nothing in

comparison to the value that they're gonna get when they have that solution

in hand you have to make the connection between the price that they're paying

and the value that they're getting so that they are no longer focused on the

price but they are focused on the outcome so now my question for you is

which of these three rubber meets the road strategies are you gonna use

starting today to help you get better conversions over the phone are you going

to sell the value and show them quantifying

what the result is worth are you gonna bring them back to the pain before you

talk about the price or are you going to share those customer success stories and

testimonials so that they can start emotionally and visually beginning to

see themselves in the shoes of that person that's already getting the result

tell me below in the comments which of these three things you're gonna get

started with right away okay so let's wrap it all up with a bow

I've created a do's and don'ts guide for you to use while you're on the phone

with prospects so that you can get the results that you want and deserve and

increase the return on investment for the time you're spending on the phone

with customers click the link below to get your do's and don'ts guide right

Royal Kids - Prince Charles' official 70th birthday photo album: All of the never-before-seen pictu - Duration: 2:24.

There's cute, and then there's really cute. A candid new photo featuring Prince Charles and Prince Louis definitely falls into the latter category

As Prince Charles reached his milestone 70th birthday in November, royal fans were treated to an extravaganza of never-before-seen imagery of the Prince and his family, and the selection is enough to make us swoon

Last week, we were treated to two new professional images taken by royal photographer Chris Jackson of Getty Images, which features the growing family consisting Prince Charles, his wife Camilla, his two sons and their spouses and his three grandchildren

One of the images showed the royals in a slightly more candid light as seen above, where they are pictured smiling and laughing at an unknown feat

But now, it looks like that feat has been revealed as a new image from the royal photographer surfaced over the weekend

The new image, which is currently the cover of the Sunday Times magazine in the UK, shows Prince Louis and Prince Charles sharing a moment that is, quite frankly, adorable

In the image, Prince Louis is seen grabbing Prince Charles' face while the rest of the family look on smiling

As for Charles, the 70-year-old clearly finds the gesture hilarious and he can be seen having a good old chuckle

The sweet moment, most likely stemming from young Louis' curiosity and affection for his grandfather, is enough to make us swoon! Meanwhile, another new image, which featured alongside the above photo for an article in The Sunday Times shows Prince Charles and Louis sharing a loving cuddle

Little Louis' twinkling eyes and Charles' loving smile is a sure sign these two royals have a very close bond

Speaking to the Sunday Times, Jackson, who has been photographing the royal family for over 15 years said it was the "happiest" he'd ever seen Prince Charles

"It was lovely chaos with the children," he said. "He is a very hands-on grandfather

He was holding hands with George and Charlotte, and bouncing Louis up and down for a long time

"He said George was very happy to be sitting on his grandfather's knee for the photos, and that the shoot was remarkably informal

"[Charles] is someone with a sense of pride for his family," he added. "A sense of pride for what his children are achieving

"Over the weekend, royal snapper Jackson took to Instagram to share more behind-the-scenes moments he captured after shadowing Charles as he filmed the special documentary for his 70th birthday, Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70

From laughing with his sons to feeding his prize-winning chickens, Jackson shows a loving and relaxed side to Charles in his unprecedented photo album

The royals look dressed and ready for action in the beautiful image. In another stunning shot, Charles is pictured chatting to school children at the open-air swimming pool outside Dumfries house - given his adorable relationship with his young grandchildren, it's easy to see Charles is a natural with the kids! And in the below rare candid outtake - Charles, Harry and William are seen sharing a laugh together

A slightly more formal image was used from the same photo shoot for Charles' official 70th birthday stamp collection

With plenty of tributes, imagery and lavish events to celebrate the milestone, there's one thing for sure: 70 looks good on Prince Charles!WATCH: Princess Charlotte adorably farewell's Prince Charles

W10248798 - Replacing Your Maytag Fridge's Left Pantry Drawer Support - AP5670771, PS7320480 - Duration: 10:09.

Hi my name is Bill and today I will be showing you how to replace the left

pantry drawer support in your refrigerator. The reason why you might

have to do this is because the support is broken or damaged, or because the

drawer isn't sliding in very easily.

For this repair we'll be using a

quarter-inch nut driver and a Phillips head screwdriver.

Warning: Before doing any repairs, please disconnect your power source.

So this is a refrigerator we're

going to be using for this demonstration. It's a Maytag, and keep in mind yours at

home might be a little bit different than what we have here but the same

technique should still apply. So what we're going to do is open both of our doors up.

And now I'm going to take the drawers out and those just slide straight out.

And now we're going to take the shelf out carefully. This shelf is just a glass shelf, so we

don't want to drop it or damage it in any way. Now we'll take out the middle

shelf support, and now we'll go to the bottom. You take a pantry drawer out here.

Again that just slides straight out. And now we'll take out this piece of glass

right here, another shelf, and you just want to be careful again not to damage it.

And now what we're going to do is we're going to take these trim pieces out, so those just

slide right back, and we'll push down on them and they pop right off.

And same

thing on this side: just pops out, pushing it down a little

bit and pulling it back and it snaps out. And now we're going to remove two screws

holding this support down.

And with those screws out, you can just lift up and pull this out. And there's a

support behind that which you can also pull out as well. Now I can pick up this

shelf support and take it out. So this plastic piece right here, is our left

pantry drawer support. So we're going to need to take this screw off here,

using our quarter-inch nut driver again.

So now once that screws off, you can lift up and pull slightly out on the drawer

support, and that'll release it from the support that's behind it. And then just

pull straight out and it'll come right off. Now in order to get the slide off,

we're just going to take our phillips head screwdriver and unscrew the screws.

And when that screw comes off, just keep in mind there's also a bracket behind it so

you don't want to lose that. So you can also put that in the safe spot with the

screw. And same thing with the second screw, just grab that and unscrew it.

And then you can take the screw out and the slide will come right off.

Now you can grab your new OEM replacement pantry drawer support, and if you don't have one

already you can find it on our online store.

So now I'll put the slide onto the

pantry support. And you're just going to line up the two little pieces that stick

out, and then get your bracket, put that behind it, and

then you can screw it into place.

Now to put this part back into place, we're just

going to line up the round supports that stick out of the fridge wall here. And so

the first one we're just going to slide straight back and once that's in place,

it'll kind of click back there. So then you're just going to raise this up, set it

down, and then that should be in place. And so once that's in place, you can

screw that support back in and secure it. Now we'll put the support back in and

slide it all the way back, and it'll drop into the slots there like so.

So now I'll put this metal guard in first, and we'll lift up the support here and set the

guard in, just like that. Now we can put this in and we're going to

make sure that this lever here goes into a slot right there. And you'll see the

gray slide that moves back and forth, so when you put that into the slide. you're

just going to want to make sure it lines up.

And then just make sure that these two tabs go into the slots there. Test out

your slide, and once you made sure that it all works, you can screw it down.

Now I'll put the glass shelf back in place, and that'll set right on that support there.

Now we can put the bottom shelf back in.

And you just want to make sure that the door glide goes up and into its space,

and everything should open and close nice and even, just like that.

And now to put this back in place, all we have to do is line up that long slot there pick the

long piece there. And this slot right here with these two tabs is where this

longer part goes. That sits in there and the other part on the bottom should

slide straight in, and it'll snap into place. Now we'll put our shelf back into

place.

And you're going to want to make sure that the rounded end that has the cutout back

here goes towards the back.

And once you've got it in place, it should sit on both the supports on

either end. And now we can put our glass shelf back into place, dangling it

because the doors are wide. And once you've got it in there, gently set it on

the shelf just like that. Now we're going to put our crisper drawers back in.

And what you're going to want to do is just make sure the wheels on either side line up

with the track there, so it slides in nice and easy. Same thing on this side: just

lining up those wheels with the track.

And you'll see right there it wasn't lined up so it didn't go in, try it again.

And there we go, now we can close the refrigerator doors and your repair is complete.

Finally, don't forget to plug in your appliance.

MOLHO PESTO VEGANO DE SEMENTE DE ABÓBORA - Duration: 6:17.

Hi, people today, another recipe that enjoy another part of the pumpkin,

the seeds that are normally discarded but they are rich in omega 3 and this is very

good for us vegans and vegetarians because omega 3 is usually

found in cold water fish. The pesto sauce originates from italy and

the traditional recipe goes Parmesan cheese but it is totally dispensable. Indeed this recipe

of pumpkin seed pesto sauce owes nothing to the traditional and

It's a delight and it's very easy to do. So stay there and follow the recipe

moo

oinc

auu

to do the vegan pesto sauce We're using here half a cup of

already washed basil leaves, a third cup of olive oil or you might need

during the process, 1 tooth of garlic with a little salt to taste is and

here we are also using seed of a pumpkin that we cooked and

So we are taking advantage of the seeds

the first thing we'll do is washing the pumpkin seeds is

separating them from the fibers of the pumpkin, wash very well

then we'll put in a glass with more or less than 700 ml of water and

to soak about 12 hours

I'm putting in the glass because the material is cleaner than the

plastic that usually releases toxics substances you will cover and the seeds are important.

breathe, and leave in a dark place until tomorrow

moo

so after to soak the pumpkin seed from one day to another

You will put in a dishcloth to remove excess water and then

that we will spread on the tray and take to the fire at 180 degrees to dry

Now we're going to toast the seed of pumpkin

there are people who prefer to toast in the oven but here we prefer to toast in the

pan because the taste gets more accurate here we are using a frying pan

Nonstick just plug the oven, put the seeds and go stirring not to burn

to see if this toast is just to try one or the other. When it starts to brown

we hear clicks ,you can listen and not stop moving because otherwise you can

burn and you will stirring until all are golden brown

here are already gold here we already tried one and it's crunchy then you can

turn off the stove and after you put in the blender or mixer

if you first have the seed these will give a first crushed in the

seeds after grinding only one basic crusher

now just put other ingredients

the garlic the olive oil

you will hit and you will observe the texture that may need more oil

here as you can see it was still dry, then we'll put more

olive oil until become a sauce

and here we are our pesto sauce pumpkin seed ready

It can serve to accompany pasta as spaghetti but can also

to serve on toast and other breads

well yeah yep so you can't beat that we got it all covered for you yes and our

coverage is way better than some of the football coverage from this weekend some

of the coverage on the field anyway you talking about the the coverage of well

let's just get into it shall we so here's here's a good news uh

oh yeah let me get back here it's the last time we're going to use this

Darry the Capitals are still playing that's a sports ball that's real sports

is what we use that for but uh we are 90 some days from pitchers and catchers

reporting mhm which means that baseball is a long way

starting you know opening day is means off we're also 90 we in the next 90 days

we should really find some time to go to Vegas and put our World Series Orioles

bet or pennant a opener that's right it's gonna be the odds are gonna be

astronomical and I feel like the person's gonna look at it and be like

the the Baltimore Orioles okay I mean the one that was voted the worst I don't

even know if we have odds for this we had to make some cook yeah Baltimore

Orioles yes Jerry somebody wants to bet on the Orioles Yahweh the Ravens no or

else okay Orioles Orioles that's who do they want well just remember every

single time Buck has lost a job the team has gone to the World Series the

following year so not always won not always won but Nick go to the World

Series the AL pennant I feel like is safe in hand yeah it's gonna be the most

dramatic comeback in the history of sports

47 loss or 47 win season two in it yeah 47 win season two a forty seven lost

season here we go man so if that would be one 112 we lost so 162 altogether 47

means that there are 12

how many losses the Orioles 115 is how many we had if you'll believe that 115

losses no no let me go to the standings see if they still have this 157 I know

they won 115 has been beads no you didn't know there's a Yankee Cena won

won won won 19 I think I think 119 sold yeah but I mean listen

if we're gonna shoot for the shoot for the moon here let's just say the most

wins in history from 47 wins which might be near the loss in modern history to

119 wins and most wins in modern history I'm gonna have to I need to know now the

the desire to know was to - I won 16 yes one 16 was Yankees right

no one 16 was the 1906 Chicago Cubs the Seattle mayor 2001 Seattle Mariners

maybe that's why I was saying enough the Yankees in 1998 won 114 and 48 oh they

were on the way tip maybe they were on the way to breaking that Cubs won that

was ridiculous though because it's 154 yeah so they went 116 out of 150 for

only thirty six losses so I guess better please our bet thank you go to Vegas but

it plays a bet on the Ravens game now well I was a before I do think it's 47

losses the worst loss mmm that's the worst in the history of Major League

Baseball yeah 62 yeah at least amount of wins and 160

yeah we I think we crushed that record by quite a lot would be nice anyway uh

luckily we didn't go a place or a bet on the Ravens game last week because that

didn't work out so well yeah the Ravens were a six-point favorite by the way

plain playoff games I did not I would not have put money on by six there's no

there's not a way in the world I'd feel comfortable with that I wonder what the

the halftime change was like like what the we're up by uh charge they're up by

nine going into the half and you know how they do the like our live betting

yeah why if you're if you're in Vegas you can bet just the second half right

that this the sweeping change must have been huge I mean you don't think they

would view like charters by six at least Oh God

six point under six point underdogs to six point favorites in the at halftime I

don't know how it works when you do live betting I've never actually done that

part I just placed the bet before the game and then yeah that's that's all I

do I mean the odds change as the game goes

on yeah so you lock in you can bet during the game right I just don't know

exactly how it works I'm not I'm not like tight on sports game you're

supposed to be the expert here I know are we doing sorry been doing but

nonetheless uh it started out first of all we made it out and watch the game

yes sir that was nice I do feel like a playoff game was

worthwhile to get up at 9 o'clock complete number one you're playing in LA

team yeah why are we playing it the 10 o'clock Pacific game that made no sense

to me I mean like I really assume that the NFL's

logic was that nobody in LA is actually gonna come out and watch this game yeah

so why are we even bothering what time we could put it on to 6:00 in the

morning it doesn't even matter do be fair we were at a bar at 9:45 in the

morning and there was nobody there the people were there

we're Chargers fans for the most part there was like over the course of the

the morning I think there were like six or seven Chargers fans who were there

yes and they we and those Chargers fans were eventually outnumbered by Eagles

fans yeah yeah so like they're good seats for the Eagles game you know who

came in early but again the Eagles fans the late game fans outnumbered the

Chargers fans in the bar in downtown LA where you learn so that should tell you

and maybe that's it maybe they were just like one of these games has got to be

late what is gonna be the bigger draw for the late afternoon game who do we

want to stick in that church traffic yeah you know any yeah yeah I guess we

stick the charges Ravens and it was a church traffic kind of game I I we all

saw it so we don't need to discuss too much about like the what happened during

the game I will say this I am not at all happy with the NFL officiating idea of

why Melvin Gordon wasn't didn't have a fumble on the goal line there yeah did

you get a better explanation what was the explanation so I watched a video

from like whatever NFL Network's Morning Show is it's like the NFL this morning

or something like that and they had the president of the Rules Committee like on

there describing what exactly happened and he said there was the be hit by

Weddell on the foot of Melvin Gordon means that when he went down he was

immediately down the can that he hit but there was no

movement of the ball so therefore there was no fumble because as soon as he hit

the ground the play was dead because he was in in contact but you caused my

point and like really this is a when you see coaches like screaming on the

sidelines yeah most of the time what they're doing is they're arguing about

something that probably won't get overturned they're screaming about some

little thing that just to make the referee think about it yeah and what

Harbaugh's job at that point is supposed to be doing is running up to every

single referee and throwing his hat on the ground and going like that ball was

coming loose that ball was coming loose before he hit the ground not because he

has some meat there like some ability to like see the play and see how it how it

worked out but in an effort to try and get them to watch the replay and say

holy shit that ball yeah that's the thing he wants them to look at yeah

they're going under the hood because if they're going under the hood and they

see that the ball is moving a little bit then it's still a very highly unlikely

hood that they overturn the play and actually let the touchdown stand but I

to the best of my knowledge from what I saw all the replays I saw they didn't

blow the whistle no so I mean like at least they let that part play out but it

was it was so weird that I don't know that that was a 14-point swing because

they had touchdown the very next play it would have been a touchdown for us yeah

and that would have been a tremendously different game and you know you can't

predict how things would change from that point on but I'm saying that that

would have given the Ravens the lead by what like three points at that point

yeah 15 9 or something damnit forces yeah I mean but the bigger

thing though is it's about what is he looking at when he goes under the hood

right because the question is was he just looking at Oh was there a touch is

he down or was looking at the ball coming loose right and that's that

that's the big question and that's the thing if you it it's not about like and

again the the likelihood that the referee actually overturns it based off

of the video evidence that is there is very low but it doesn't change the fact

that you should be you know much like if you found out that quacking like a duck

makes police not give you tickets a imagine how many people are just gonna

be quacking all the time just because II if you just blew through a stop sign and

hit a nun and launched her into the side of a school for the blind or something

like bad yeah officer comes up to the window where the shot where our children

in it's just quacking the cop to their question just crack at him that'll get

you tased that that'll get you taste I love that video I sent you by the way of

the two lawyers are like smoking pot and it's just like police comes up to your

door what do you do shut the fuck up which is great advice I don't know how

the Bar Association would look at two layers on YouTube smoking pot and giving

legal advice over the Internet I mean California bar is probably a lot more

relaxed than the mainland I mean it's not against the law to smoke weed now in

California so you were as a an attorney not allowed to use alcohol in your

advertisements in Maryland at least I can't say for California so I feel like

is it the same logic that like you could have a drink in your hand but you just

can't drink it no because I mean like in advertisements or beer and stuff like

that they can't drink it okay TV but they can show people like holding up a

bunch of Coronas and like having a great time so the never see somebody actually

indulge in the beverage part of this thing is it's that you can't show

anything that would put the practice of law in a negative light so that means no

show not like not just not showing the or not just not drinking the alcohol but

not showing alcohol not like again why would you need to I mean maybe you can

make the the logic that the weed is medicinal and you could show the weed

yeah but you wouldn't want to and in fact I think as far as Maryland's

concern you can show an actor portrayal but you can't have the person claiming

to be a lawyer be the one who is holding or referencing or whatever

not actually

they get around it but then you got to worry about California and Florida are

both big on the like when you hold yourself out to be a lawyer but you're

not a lawyer so yeah watch out for that but it was you're funny and people

should check in the show notes back to the whole point which is we just

got into a huge tuft about the controversy surrounding the Ravens game

you know and what are your thoughts well the controversy which is what I saw a

random guy wearing a Ravens head in the building today not a country and I saw

him and I was like a Ravens fan and then I showed him my chéri which was or even

shirt and immediately lunch and do you think we should have brought Joe into

that game because they were talking about the halftime show apparently yes

they were like on the CBS halftime show or something they were talking about

should Joe coming to this game and like half the coaches and suffer like yeah

you should go man yeah well you don't remember that we I mean I wasn't

listening to it now do I listen to the halftime size and tell me what to think

but yeah I they they basically you know at the beginning of the game they take

the vote of who they think is gonna win yeah yeah and they kind of pulled

everybody and they were like I think this is on the border of getting out of

hand if it starts to get out of hand they gotta bring Joe in he's a guy with

experience he's a guy who's gonna know what to do but anyway I mean so

basically the controversy is should the Ravens have when when the game was out

of hand brought Joe in to try and stem the tide

and maybe get the Ravens back into it nah I I don't even you know I mean the

Ravens were close at the end they could have scored and won on the last Drive

that they wanted to but it was up until garbage time there was there was no

Ravens offense three quarters of negative passing yardage from Leo

Jackson was garbage time what when was garbage time like when it got up 22

three or whatever yeah that point that last Drive they had a chance to tie it

oh it didn't go for the win yes so there's no garbage time they the garbage

time is everything up until the point where they start where the charges

started playing a little bit more lacks okay and allowing the Reimann to get

back into the game and then like you know the the thought

process is that you know if you're beating a team by a lot you're not going

to go 100% full-bore and you're trying to like you know do doing all the same

things that you would do when you're in a tie game trying to make competitive

plays you give them a little bit more cushion so you don't give up the big

play but you're getting a lot of like 14-yard outs because the the cornerback

is giving you more coverage and it's also helping Lamar because he can't read

the corners the other thing is having a really hard time reading corners and he

has been the entire time he's been starting for the Ravens and he just

needed to like being able to actually have a little bit of cushion around his

wide receivers allowed him to actually throw the ball better downfield okay

so back to the back to the controversy yeah but everyone who thinks said that

Jo can't be brought into this game or that he's it's gonna rattle Lamar or

some shit like that just shut the fuck up forever I mean like really cuz I get

I get the players being upset because there were there were boos at Mt there

was a Marine there is a clamoring for Jo that's the part that is more likely to

rattle the young quarterback I mean there was even a video of Jo on the

sidelines saying like this is fucking ready yes they're booing him right now

yeah but a point had to be made that the Chargers came into this game with a game

plan that was we are not going to let them run all over us and for the most

part that was true they the Ravens while they were effective with the run were

not the same running team that they had been previously especially against the

Chargers three weeks ago sure yeah and they it was clear that if we were gonna

beat them we were gonna have to throw them all and conventional wisdom

probably would say that the best way to the Chargers would be to throw the ball

anyway as opposed to running the ball against like Bosa and Ingram and stuff

like that okay but we had success with it a few weeks ago we did but you know

that's not a just because you win a game running the ball a lot doesn't

necessarily mean it's it's the way to the formula to beat a team you know okay

that can be a one-off kind of

how did that last game go where we beat the chargers by like what - okay oh yeah

yeah yeah yeah I listen and this this is not my but I have no problems with Lamar

I'm really excited about the future of the Lamar Ravens elad Ravens but there

is a difference between almost any other example that you can give me and what

happened on Sunday which is Lamar just cannot read the defense yet and this is

not a detriment to him I'm not saying he's not gonna be able to get there or

that he won't be an exceptional passing quarterback at some point cuz he's got

the arm it's yeah or he's got a live arm the problem is that he just doesn't he

can't see where people are moving on the field so when he's throwing it up blind

and then anybody's TV just sneaks in out of nowhere that's something that we

can't afford I mean like the fumbles and everything like that

the Ravens just could not afford turnovers and they turned over the ball

a ton yesterday and there was a point where you just started needed to make

shots down the field cuz you had you know what we were discussing Joe coming

in with like seven minutes left in the fourth and stuff like that seven minutes

left in the fourth you need to you need to be able to like have some big the

comeback happen you know yes yeah I just think that the if if it was if it was

Ryan Tannehill who is the the starter for the Dolphins and has been for many

years and he goes out there in a playoff game and he throws four picks in the

first half what she did well I'm saying if he if he is out there doing something

truly terrible then there is a expectation that he might get benched

and another quarterback might be brought in to just at least stem the tide and

try and get them back into competitiveness and your argument is

that Lamar's performance was equal to that it was equal to four interceptions

no but I'm saying that Lamar's it there there were many problems with the the

Ravens yesterday one of them was that the coaching

was absolutely terrible there the play calling was abysmal and there didn't

seem to be any idea of how to fix the problem yeah the the other part though

is that Lamar just could not handle what they needed do what was needed to get

them back into this game and your argument is Joe Flacco had that uh Joe

Flacco is more in tune is more that at some point you know five years from now

or something like that there's going to be a team who does two quarterbacks and

they're gonna dedicate themselves to this idea oh yeah yeah there's a down

field quarterback they're just like what the there used to be thirty two running

backs every single team had a had a bell cow running back like Le'Veon Bell who

just seventy percent of the rushes went to levy on bail yeah and maybe there was

like some big huge idiot who you'd hand out the ball to on the one-yard line

like a fullback the bus yeah the bus who just runs in for the one-yard touchdown

or something like that maybe you have a speed guy who also does like punt

returns and stuff like that but he's also a change of pace back or like the

second-string guy already knows now they're running back to the NFL you have

to have like two or three of them all I can think is marques colston

is that wide receiver hashas quarterback now wide receiver I know he's New

Orleans wide receiver yeah but he was Hofstra quarterback he was hosters tight

end o who was our quarterback no are you talking about Giovanni Carr mozzie no I

thought that it's the only drafted quarterback object I thought mark you

know I thought marques colston was a quarterback that went to wide

receiver now he was a tight end that went to white or is he white so change

on that then yeah but a good my point is that it's sometimes that the white the

quarterbacks in college go to wide receiver yes I mean they can they can

they're there I mean terrelle pryor is probably the best known version of this

he was a quarterback for Ohio State but nobody thought of him as being able to

handle the quarterback position at the NFL level so he transitioned into wide

receiver to play in the NFL and so my thought is he's had ups and downs but

how does the value go up of a guy like that who is on the field every

single play but you can run an option with but he's a quarterback so you know

he's got the training and the mentality of a quarterback but I just think

they're gonna have they're gonna have people who come in in certain looks I

didn't you know you know like win when Lamar comes in

it's like alright run play here we go he's not throwing it downfield

well I mean he's live you can say the same thing about the Patriots on the

running backs James White comes in there's more likely they're gonna pass

it or Sonia Michelle's in there then that means they're gonna run it yeah

yeah I mean there's no there's no like question I mean like do do they pass the

ball when zoning Michelle is in there yes but do they pass it to sunny

Michelle no I don't think we know that you know if James White is in there poor

there's a higher likelihood that they're passing the Michelle's and there's a

highly like Oh hood that they're running it I'm gonna put her down I just want to

say Carly Cruz making an appearance on the podcast she's distracting me yes

so back to the controversy though here is my point at some point you've

discounted but I'm gonna make it nonetheless which is that next year

Lamar Jackson is gonna be a starter trade Joe somewhere and most likely his

backups gonna be RG three another experienced quarterback yeah where you

know somebody of kin - sure yeah but it's gonna be somebody who's got

more NFL experience probably more successful experience than Lamar does

yeah I mean like the the idea when you have a rookie quarterback as you want

somebody who's like able to help Shepherd their career along a little bit

was it Gregg Zaun who is the catcher when weeders came up yeah yeah why is he

here well because he's here for weeders yeah and weeders comes up he's gonna be

the guy who's like who changes weeders all those tricks yes yeah in with him

and teaching him ten years where the catching are got like 15 years song was

always help God isn't he's got to be horrible right but anyway now my point

is he had a little stool

yeah pads you actually shadows are the new savers yeah yeah that's how you do

the same thing he's got the actual stew like a cobbler stool every time you see

the two legs pop down I'm sure they can

anyway so here's my point Lamar's gonna have somebody with

experience behind him if they would at the vigil they would have put Buster

Posey out on them like no no you could sit for the rest of just throwing it and

getting up just uh just rolling it behind the pitch he just looks that he's

like it's like somebody um hey Pablo you want to get that one Lamar is gonna have

an experienced quarterback behind it most likely yeah

and if you pull him in a situation like that in this game that and I don't care

I know you say it's not true but there is no way that doesn't get in his head

nobody at game situations next year nobody was talking about whoa is me to

Joe Flacco in his fragile ego when Lamar Jackson was coming in running one off

run Platt run bass options he he was the quarterback he was Drew Bledsoe ya know

he was going into the season he was the starter there was no reason to imagine

that he wasn't going to be the starter unless he either got hurt which he did

or he was so horrendously terrible and the Ravens were so far out of it that

they said to themselves it's not even worth throwing Joe out there anymore

because he says if he gets hurt then we're fucked because we can't trade him

next year and we might as well get Lamar out there and get him some reps but

that's the part of the part of the the beauty of Lamar coming in when he did

was he came in at the point in the season where we were discussing like

well the reason you have to win out of Lee win every one of their games and

they would head on out to have a chance to get in the playoffs and then they did

that that was he did that he led the team to that so you led the team to that

there's a lot there's a lot of Ravens fans right now who were who are

suffering from some very short term memory and

number one Joe has led us on multiple fourth-quarter comebacks yes in the

playoffs especially where he is truly a different player than he has during the

regular season how many of those happened last year the year before well

none of them happen for the last four years because we haven't been in the

playoffs for four years who would be responsible for that

Joe Flacco leader of the team no the leader of the team crystal I

still maintain that Joe I mean like for all the people who were talking about

like Phillip Rivers being a Hall of Famer and Matt Ryan and all these other

quarterbacks who came out like roughly around the same time that Joe did yeah

Phillip Rivers obviously is probably like five or six more years than Joe

does under his belt mm-hmm but I mean these guys played with other players who

were incredible Joe's best wide receiver ever was either Anquan Boldin or Steve

Smith and both of them were way past what we would consider their prime at

the time Crabtree looks really good in his career Crabtree is not Julio Jones

Matt Ryan has had for his entire time yes a combination of Julio Jones and

Roddy White and you know all the sinew and all these people and Rivers has had

you know a Antonio Gates which is a wonderful piece to have who's looking

old as hell by the way well but I mean like you know all these all these Joe

has never had a supporting test around him that made him better and many of the

times where we were not making the playoffs here for the last four years we

were throwing out you know who's the the wide receiver who led the team in

receptions at one year and he's like fucking out of the NFL now it was only

like two or three years ago no idea he signed up eventually signed on with the

Colts I don't even know if he's not still on the team a chard Perryman no no

no but I mean like Perryman is another one and like you know the the number of

times that we've had nobody to fucking throw to and I think that that Joe has a

very complicated legacy because people have a hard time seen the things that he

did with hey less than than stellar supporting cast and

if anything I'm going to say this this is the point I'll leave you with and

it's not about you know whether or not Joe should have come in or not or any of

that it's about what we're doing going forward there's gonna be the state of

the Ravens press conference probably in like a week or something like that it's

usually they give him like a week to like think about things mm-hmm and it'll

be you know Ozzy and Steve bisciotti and Harbaugh up there and if they want Lamar

Jackson to take the next step and be the best version of himself that he can be

yeah they need to go up there and fire Marty more yes a million percent because

here's the thing i learning NFL defenses is something that most people probably

want to be able to do mmm you would think about like these stupid jocks and

you know the people who are quarterbacks and stuff like that and I don't

necessarily well I mean like the if you said to somebody how smart is an athlete

like on this chart where 10 is Nobel laureate and zero is guy who scrapes

dumb off of the ground at Disney yeah not to cast dispersions

yeah if you're making a scale right yeah yeah and you're saying NFL player where

are you ranking them on the list I imagine were sub 5 somewhere is where

most people would rank them but to be an NFL quarterback and to be able to see

how things are moving without without knowing exactly how they're gonna go is

a special skill yeah and it's something that's really hard to do and especially

hard to learn and the difference between a top-flight college and the NFL level

is like going from you know high school chemistry to NASA

Regis divided Philip Rivers really good at it yeah him reading the Ravens

defense and like coming up to the line seeing where everything was changing the

play at the line that's what you want well not only that I mean like and it's

the type of thing that like it may not necessarily allow you to write

dissertations on half the Roman Empire fell or anything like that but he's you

know if you talk to Philip Rivers at like half-time he'll say things like

you know well for the first quarter and a half there we were only converting

four of seven first downs and I we need to bring that number up I I need to be

over 75% if I'm going to feel confident about it come back in this like knowing

numbers and stuff like that and be able to like articulate them into a game plan

and things like that it's just that a rageous ly difficult thing to do and

that's why I don't get on the bars case mmm

so much when he doesn't you know look like a traditional quarterback throwing

the ball because I understand that he just can't see what is going on the same

way that Phillip Rivers can see I'm sorry in college it's less necessary to

do that and when you get a certain number of seasons in when you're drew

Brees or Phillip Rivers or Aaron Rodgers or something like that like it just

becomes easy the problem is that your body starts breaking down and it becomes

harder to be Tom Brady said that right those banning me and if I had two more

seasons or three more CSP Payton was saying like when he by the time he got

to Denver like he was playing mentally he was playing the game at a different

level yeah and nobody could nobody could touch him in terms of like what he was

seeing on the field yeah the problem was that his body wasn't

cooperating with him so he would try and make that same throw he used to make

because he knew that he had the the ground Ellie Ben yeah yeah but he just

couldn't make it and that's the I mean you know it regardless

Marty needs to go yes because there is a real chance that if you get a good

imaginative coach who who has some gravitas to him and like you know can

can speak to the to the offensive side of the ball and make this the team that

we want there you cannot convince me that next season wouldn't be Michael

Vick in his heyday okay with Lamar and didn't remember big used to run for 80

yards in a game but he used also throw for 300

he had an electric arm getting getting him out now is the important part though

so that we are getting free agency with the new OSI yeah getting the draft with

the new OSI and getting an ID winter meat and everything I do not trust Marty

mourning wig I just do not he's not capable of crafting a quarterback like

you know it you know we talked about Peyton Manning

the reason why a case was so in demand with Miami and why he's probably gonna

get another NFL head coaching career was because he took Peyton Manning from the

best college football quarterback in a long time and was able to craft him into

one of the five best quarterbacks of all time and it again the divide between

those two is so huge yeah and somebody who's able to bring you to that level is

a very special thing you know you need somebody who's gonna be able to get

Lamar started off right yeah and I'm fine with him you know like sort

of getting his reps of the season and doing everything that he needs to do and

preparing for the future but we really need a serious offense of mind to handle

what we're gonna be doing here and part of the reason why Marty was saved for so

many years here was because Joe kept saying I just don't want to change a new

system yeah because he ever systems in the first few years first nine seasons

he had seven offensive coordinators or something like that he's like please

just for the love God spring Marty back I got regrets that now oh I'm sure he

regrets that yeah I mean maybe because Marty has been resting on morals what I

mean like it and I'm not saying fire Harbaugh or fire a Martindale or anybody

else I'm just saying just fire fire Marty everyone else who's on the

offensive coaching staff can stay for now

and we'll say new offensive coordinator

is gone because I just can't I can't do it I can't I can't see the promise of

the next generation being thrown away under Marty's stupid ass watch yes and

you know if you just fireman week nine next season you're ruining that time in

the preseason where you could be like well I'm off season drills and

everything like that do you might ruin your quarterback -

yeah yeah it might get to the point where he's just saying I learned all

these things under my last OC and it's hard for me to relearn somebody else's

said no you know what I mean like I know it wouldn't happen because he's

perfectly fine at Michigan at the moment but I wouldn't mind bringing in Jim

Harbaugh as I see the whole horrible army I mean he's never gonna do it

because he likes being a college football level yeah he does and I'm sure

that he wouldn't want to be like an offensive coach per se but the

ability to mold I mean like he's just really good at quarter also would you go

from a pro a professional coaching job to a one of the best college jobs ever

to being a coach under your brother yeah I get the logic I'm just saying like I

said one of the the the the idea of it is just no it's good that's as far as

like a if you got fired tomorrow for something hmm then just water water in

the camp is good yeah so I think that does it for sports both yeah solid solid

so speaking of the stupid rocks in our Merc oh wait no that's Daisy is that you

yes see you Daisy we have a switch in the building now and there's been a lot

of switch playing yes Jose this Legend of Zelda breath of the wild is a amazing

game and he can speak for the experience cuz he has about 97 hours of play time

in the last hundred hours so I usually don't get tied up in video games the

only time we ever do it is Legend of Zelda it doesn't it it chants me and I

think so much of the problem was and I found myself doing this earlier I

finished writing and then I was gonna take a break for a while so I could be

like clear my head and then read it fresh right yeah I'm gonna play for an

hour here I'm like beating a boss and then I'm just saying to myself like

alright so what I should really do is get to my next the pot yes go to the

next place I need to go to and I'll save the game there and then when I can start

the game fresh I'll be already there ready to go ready to get into it and

then that turns into four and a half hours later just like of course I'll

help you find an owl ma'am yeah and this is how Red Dead Redemption gets here

yeah because it's the missions inside the missions that when you're going to

save and then like help me help me and you go over and do it

yeah and I'll say I'll say that Zelda probably owes a lot to open open-world

games like that a little bit more because old Zelda games were very much

they you would have some character come and tell you every couple seconds like

oh you should probably be heading to Death Mountain right about now and then

you were like alright well I'm just going to death Mountain yeah but then in

this game it's just sort of like alright let's see yeah I'll be there eventually

wandering around going like what do I do and it's actually more I find it more

invigorating not to being told what to do yes and just sort of in because again

so much of the old Zelda games were like you know you needed to have a hook shot

by the time you got to Zoras Kingdom and if you didn't have it then you were

fucked but it was guiding you to get that yeah on the way right

I mean honestly they got that's I like the open world because it's like you

don't necessarily need something certainly is a lot a lot easier if yeah

it's on the way if you if you have like a fully fully stocked gear list then

you're probably better off you can do that in your side missions first you go

out and do that stuff and then start the whole thing so anyway speaking of smart

men making really dumb pronouncements like Jim Harbaugh they had that coming

up soon but before we get into that the shut down an ant ant ant ant ant ant ant

ant ant ant the shutdown now in its third week yes bordering on one of the

are about to border on the longest shutdown ever the longest says it seems

right now I said in the pre-show meeting I believe is 22 days from 1996 which if

I remember right was also in the wintertime I want to say it wasn't

around Christmas cuz I feel like they pushed it into January or February but

then went three weeks in like February yeah I think that's right

it sounds right yeah because they were smart and said you know what we don't

want to do we don't want to alienate our base by shutting down a Christmas yeah

and this president doesn't doesn't believe that oh my god Trump too and not

like but I enjoy that Trump when asked about all the people who haven't gotten

a paycheck for three weeks now what they're doing like how he how he feels

about that situation he's this like well you know things like this happen and

people find a way to make it work yeah and I'm just like uh-huh bill you you

find a way to make it work yeah supposedly hey Dad I need some money

okay down okay Donald here you go so that's how he's had to make it work we

didn't really talk about this but just to mention it um White House staff got a

pay increase during the shutdown mmm or are the Trump staff got a pay increase

during the shutdown so tone-deaf does not begin does not begin to summarize me

you have TSA workers who are working for free working for

and you give your staff a raise I just it's beyond me yeah I mean hey we refer

to the show Roberto Arizona joining from Sonora Mexico where I was just a few

weeks ago welcome Roberto I hope you take the time to play for your parents

my greeting for them from last week's episode if you guys are wondering about

my adventures in Sonora you can check that out on last week's episode it's 247

247 can't believe rip that hi no but so the trunk the shutdown is in

full effect which means there's very little news except for people wondering

when is a shutdown gonna end the house actively tabi taking up the issue trying

to address the shutdown the Senate well not so much what is it Senate addressing

nothing oh no they have a bill oh damn I had this pretty talking about the 101

or 108

Senate bill 1 oh yeah the Senate not taking up the shutdown instead a bill

which would make the BDS or the what is this group called we're like you um you

don't buy things from Israel as a protest mm-hmm making that illegal so a

company who actively does not take bids in Israel cannot take a bid from the

United States government No so okay have you heard about this no yeah so we

should remember what the protest is called anyway the bill was written by a

IP AC which is the American Israeli partnership mm-hmm something committee

and it's now been bringing but um so it gives state and local governments

explicit legal authority to boycott any US companies which themselves are

participating in a boycott against Israel I mean they basically just have

to take an offer though right what do you mean I mean like you know the reason

why Apple is and has all its banking based out

Ireland is because Ireland has the best rate rates for corporations who are

trying to hide money overseas yeah I mean like you know if the thought

process is that you have to take some take some pitches from Israeli banks as

well and they take a pitch and then that they don't have enough to get the

business well it doesn't really matter at that point right I mean like so so

this is there isn't like basically a group that's signed up and I can't oh

yeah I wish I could remember memories aleni

boycott divestment and sanctions so there's a basically list and it says we

as a company will not support Israel okay so we are part of the boycott

divestment and sanction agreement and basically the companies who do that who

join this Agreement will then they couldn't be a local or state government

couldn't say we're not taking a bid from you because you're a part of the BDS

because that would be discrimination yeah and if they happen to be the lowest

bidder but does this happen in any I mean like if I don't take any any

pitches from you know Cameroon does that these are American companies pitching to

American local and state governments yeah so yes if you said I'm not taking

any bids from Cameroon because I don't like Cameroonians

yeah then that would be illegal under the federal statute but if it's like I'm

just not taking any bids because I know it's not worth it for me - oh no bids at

all yeah no we don't have to worry about it the problem though is that often

these companies are the cheapest bid yeah and the state and local governments

were not doing things because they were saying by law we have to take the

cheapest bid we don't want to work with this company that sent part of the BDS

movement right so what do we do well we're not gonna do the project so the

Senate again instead of fixing the shutdown or working on fixing the

shutdown said listen guys it's okay you can in fact discriminate against those

groups and not take their bid take the next lowest bid yeah it's wonderful that

they have all this time to do this yes way better than you know fixing the

government shutdown which is keeping people oh by the way if you're trying to

fly in the next few weeks don't ya TSA is doing a sick-out where

there they can't miss work because they're they're required but they can't

stop him from calling out sick although the FAA isn't checking to make sure that

planes are operational so yeah yeah yeah anyways a chance that your plane might

not be at full health it's over the next couple of weeks

yeah so I would probably avoid flying not a Garrett not a great time at all

another great adventure and we are you do you almost miss the flight because

the TSA line because there's one person who actually showed up I'm not sick

yeah uh we have bigger fish to fry they're also they're scanners aren't

working and they can't tell if like certain things are actually bombs or not

so they can't fix the scanners because that part of the government not funded

right so yeah they can't actually get a repairman in because those guys are not

government workers right and they can't have them come in and pay them and most

people don't work for free so funny how that works on the other side of it if

you ever wanted a cheaper flight in your life it's coming up and I mean maybe if

you're on a different airline New York for twenty dollars how can I turn that

down I'll roll the dice there was a plane that flew halfway to for Hawaii

we'd like the casing of your engine off and it was flaming and they made it

notice leave tell of you and you love him go to sleep on the flight wake up at

LaGuardia the the house is is actually taking on the the shutdown and the

Senate is taking on the BDS bill and the president is taking on the wall you guys

clearly this shutdown is not subtly about the wall yeah I mean like that

that's the only thing that that is keeping Trump from signing then I mean

he's said I'm not signing anything that doesn't have five point seven billion

dollars for the wall by the way to which he's also you know like it it I'm a

little bit tired of all the people I mean if you're a reporter and you want

to say what the fuck's up with the you said Mexico would pay for it part yeah

feel free to go on with that line of how about that but you know when Trump

said he wanted a concrete wall during the campaign and now he's saying metal

fencing they're slats or the steel slide whatever like it's all effectively the

same thing yeah can we not like you're just making yourself look like idiots

kept saying like you Sonny was gonna be a concrete wall and now it's a con

tonight a concrete wall and how about this you said when exit go was gonna pay

for plane yourself like that's the the what them wall is made of hypothetically

is the least concerning part to me I don't give a shit what the walls

pathetically made of I just care about

Mizzou bad wall I would love for Mexico to pay for it I mean like that would be

the best-case version of it I guess yes but anything short of that no I don't

think so by the way I use I don't wanna I don't want a you know we just did a

trade deal and it's gonna make you know that was Trump's logic is we pulled a

new NAFTA yeah and we're gonna make more than the five point seven billion

dollars sound works yeah it's not that my tax money goes to the wall yes

if sure rolls over and Pelosi rolls over which they well then my tax that money

goes to paying the wall and I'm not okay with that and I'm not okay with the idea

of that Ford is gonna make more money in a new trade deal with Mexico yeah as a

reason why I should be okay with it by the way illogical if the trade deal

is how we're paying for it do you know who pays for that tariff sorry I do

sorry who we do yes yeah Mexico so not paying for it you the

consumer or inevitably gonna pay for it yeah because although the Mexican

company yes will pay higher tariffs they're just gonna pass that right along

to you so prices go up so enjoy that dumbass that's not how it works I would

just as a as an exercise I think it would really be funny is to uh just by

like a introduction to business book or let's go to you know buy a college

textbook like take out a second mortgage on your house and buy a college textbook

chair yeah and just start asking Trump about different

like general principles just have a reporter stand up that if you like it

mr. president um what is this and is wait for him to respond what do most

economists think is the best way to handle a bear market when when we are 18

to 24 months off of a bull market and the the interest rates are currently

trading at ba-ba-ba-ba-ba yeah and just like stand there and like look at him

and just wait for him to like buy nobody stop bailing him out when you can ask

your follow-up because he doesn't answer your question yes sit and stare just sit

and stare at him and is everybody in the room just sit and stare or other report

like I get that you're all working for different companies so it's like a

little bit tough to like act like you're all in this together but you're all in

this together so I would love nothing more if like you know Jim Acosta asks a

question and then Trump doesn't answer it screw you next up Fox and you know

Tucker Carlson stands up whoever the Fox person is yeah till like eventually it's

just calling up Breitbart until he storms out that's what happens like

three or four times in all right right part Trump you're so amazing can you how

do you stay so amazing anyway so do you guys know that he's 70 years old

I'm 55 and I look like shit I'm 35 I feel like okay so uh well how

we got on this is that the president is going to be having an address generation

yeah and there was some debate today about whether or not the news network

should give him air time you know I'll let you start should they give the

president air time yeah yeah yeah he's this is the argument I didn't get to

make outside to you is you know that they denied Obama air time in 2014 and

you know what the topic of his talk was what immigration and you know why no

because both NBC and AV he said we believe that this topic will

be too partisan and we are not going to give you the time okay

so what is Trump speaking about tomorrow the the emergency that he's gonna cook

up for okay why using the military fund his wall

generally speaking yeah more specifically uh there's been some wild

wild speculation that may not be as so wild that he's going to declare state of

emergency which by the way is the reason openly talked about yes yes we search

scary easy to do yeah scary easy for the president just be like oh you know what

national emergency habeas corpus suspended martial law in effect but

basically what he's gonna do is he has the right to spend a certain amount of

the military budget as he sees fit so he's going to declare state of emergency

and then use the military budget and soldiers to like the Army Corps of

Engineers yeah to build the wall yeah which he won't be able to do because

they'll tie it up there'll be a lawsuit there will be a lawsuit before he the

ink is dry on but do you know what happens though that the important thing

is some judge in San Francisco staying up late to okay the thing is that he

will say well the courts the courts blocked me yeah and he'll end the

shutdown yeah he'll say I tried it this way the courts blocked me we're gonna

end the shutdown and he'll blame the courts or he or he'll say I won I'm

getting the money it's just a matter of getting through the courts yes most

people don't know I do business all the time I see this it's always an

impediment you know like before I actually build a building there's seven

years of lawsuits and eventually it gets built but you know we're there where

there's a terrorist attack you can blame Mexico for it because of what happened

right here yep up in the court system but but you're right and he can say

let's end the shutdown because I'm gonna get it eventually

yeah even if he knows he's never gonna get it never get it yeah and the ribs

and boobs in flyover country well believe it the amount of people I see

defending this nonsense here's ridiculous here's the here's the the

number one problem is that you're you're hoping that the

Republicans hold on long enough to to get some sort of victory out of this

which I don't think the Democrats are in the position to do yeah I mean Pelosi is

starting tomorrow just going to bring up individual items of things to fund so

like you know like the RS is tomorrow or something like that so they're just

gonna have a vote on like individual brief parts of the government yes yeah

you know what this is not bad let's fund this we probably should allow people to

get their tax returns yes we won't allow the our well how can you have the IRS

with the Department of Homeland Security insist like well you know this whole

thing is about the security of the country so we should probably should

have DHS PS by the way there's no meat inspector should we should we get the

the Food and Drug Administration alright fine the FDA can come to Alexandria

Ocasio Cortez yes I've been a supporter of yours I have been on board with you

you're about to lose me don't run on being different and don't run on never

never voting for funding for ice and then vote for DHS funding cuz you know

where Isis we're are gonna phone win security yes no and when you vote to

approve their budget you're approving a nice budget and then go on Twitter and

say oh I mean it should probably be reduced but the way they presented the

budget now actually Isis budget is going down and dho no no you voted yes you

didn't do straight party-line vote you could have voted no and it still

would have passed yeah by the way this is gonna be the best time to like

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez because it's before she starts disappointing you I

mean it's not it at some point she's gonna vote for something then is gonna

drive everyone fucking crazy and then they're gonna be like were was no see on

this nonsense you know I was at 100 and then this vote took me down to 25 and

then I saw a really cute video of her dancing that took me back up to 70 so

we're now we're flowed between 50 inside right now I love that video yeah

Republicans releasing that I I'm so thoroughly convinced that somebody in

her office basically just knows somebody who writes up like Republican think

tanks and was just like oh my god you got to see this video fuckin Alexandra

hates the shoes she she finds out that this internet this video that was on

YouTube for all these years is big again she is going to go crazy and then it

gets out there and everyone's just like oh look at 21 year old beautiful

Alexandria Cortez dancing on a rooftop yeah now there's nothing bad about that

video I've seen it trust me and uh what was I gonna say her bartending picture

came out of her bartending yeah as she was running a political campaign and

using yeah alcohol is legal and I needed to work

not all of us have silver spoon yeah just basically not work made me love her

more but uh her voguing is probably gonna break my heart and sell that's

unfortunate um and she's pitching the seventy percent tax on over ten million

yeah which is going to you know what I may not necessarily agree with all the

details even though there's not really many details other than seventy percent

over ten million to speak of right now and you know I'm fine with you know a

tax on the rich going to towards you know green policies because I think it's

humanly possible the one thing I do like about what she did is unlike Democrats

of well I think we talked about this before where like traditionally if

Pelosi was just like alright we want a fifty percent tax yeah on on ten million

dollars are over to pay for all the things that we want to do but we're not

gonna get fifty percent we're only gonna get forty percent maybe so we should

start at sixty because that'll give it you know that yeah we shouldn't go high

because they're just gonna laugh at us yeah we should start lower in a more

reasonable number so that we can work towards eventually getting forty five

yeah and okay Casio Cortez is just like hey

70% tax fuck everybody yeah okay playing games

says 70 and then any of you says you know we could go to 90 it was 90 for a

while most prosperous time in our history right it was 90

so 17 done son so bad does it guys how about that yeah I mean I'll give it to

my like her spunk I just don't think that I think she's gonna break my heart

just like every other woman yeah every other woman in my life has so but back

to the Trump back to Trump real quick mmm don't let him call you fake news

don't let him talk about how you are destroying democracy and then give him a

place to speak that's bullshit and you're all scared and we are a country

of a bunch of pussies and you need to bunk up a little bit for Christ's sake

I think that uh two ideas one that I saw in a tweet that I think you shared which

I really enjoyed was uh they should tape delay it yeah basically just run it five

minutes after he actually doesn't and then live live live like as it's running

right back checking yeah you know cuz he's gonna say something about 4000

terrorists who come across the Mexican border we have acted zero zero or a

thousand that 4,000 is terrorists who've tried to get into the country by all

means yes and they're just lumping terrorists very loose yeah it means

somebody who's on the list yeah Rob yeah Mexico that I mean 4001 I was about one

of the first ones of the year because I'm on those lists just so you know but

and don't give him a platform for this nonsense with the with the wall that's

all I'm saying is it's a we all know it's bullshit don't give him the

platform I don't care these present United States

you if there was no precedent I might be a little more like it's like Trump and I

don't want I mean basically how how I feel is that generally speaking as a

rule I feel like if the president says that he has an emergency that he needs

to get out to the American people which is how Trump is relaying

yes message right now even if we know that what he's gonna talk about is a

fake emergency at the border yeah he he he's he's saying - you know this is the

to a degree it's a boy who cried wolf situation and you have to let the boy

cry wolf once before the story takes effect no he's I get what you're saying

but I'm saying like as far as they as far as a normal course of action I say

that if the president says he has an emergency that he needs to get out to

the American people you have to just let it happen another idea that I just said

here is just have all your figurehead news anchors on standby just you know

like Trump starts at nine o'clock Eastern have Lester Holt sitting in a

chair yeah an NBC at nine o'clock and just waitin and then the second that

Trump says something that is outrageously unfaltering anything like

that kinda way I hide the feed go to Lester Holt he says we can't let the

stand yeah we the word if you want to see full coverage of what Trump is

saying you can go on to MSNBC right now but we on NBC the the one that is

reached by hundreds of millions of people and we will not allow this to

continue - honestly that probably sends a better message of my plan not doing it

at all is the - yanking it away from two and a half seconds in yeah - five

seconds in when he tells his first law you to say up we will not allow blatant

falsehoods to be put out on the airwaves yeah so we're taking away so we will not

we will not have news on the screen while Trump is saying nonsense yes not

says news in the corner and that used to mean something we want it to mean

self-right so I mean you know if they all want to they all want to do that and

get ready to pull and we can do a a check tomorrow of what what news

agencies polled first and stuff like that that's fine with me - I mean

honestly let's hope you the ends of like the election where everyone's trying to

be first to call they're just like oh wait do we go first do we go first

AM CNN my fellow Americans Russia oh yes yeah we left there hold needs

this like hey 30 seconds in two three seconds in note by the way just if

anybody's wondering the Mueller investigation

yeah Muller investigation now yeah Ramallah investigation outside of the

shutdown everyone they're still working still getting paid because it's a

special congressional yeah so basically how it worked is last year they cut them

a check for everything they were gonna need for all basically he said I asked

him eight it's gonna be this much budget by which they're working off of and that

budget is already in the bank and being used to if you listen to last week's

episode much like the Smithsonian who had their yearly budget and therefore

was open until the end of the year mmm-hmm Muller has a better budget yeah

better bunch of the Smithsonian yes

probably so I do want to talk about one more lawyers are expensive

lawyers are expensive I would talk about one more thing before we get out of here

and of course that's gonna require that we head on down to the Baltimore corner

where you get the straight dope right so we would be remiss if we didn't talk

about it it's been in a tweet storm not a non Trump please storm but something

we talked about maybe a few weeks ago Fitzgerald is out oh no yes wait when

did this happen just today just t-shirts made welcome

welcome to Baltimore and you know all the things are just on tape so I can

take the mob and replace it with a new name and right right yeah that's like I

feel like was a team that's gerald any honestly you might as well make

Barksdale cuz I feel like they were gonna set him here to take up anyway

maybe we just get him now get him as commissioner instead mmm-hmm I think

it'd be a big jump for him cuz he was just like a captain or something before

but I think he's a little too mouthy for for like it oh I know but I'm saying

like I don't think Pew likes that oh I don't think she wants somebody who's

gonna talk back but so uh and we shouldn't make light of this I don't

know how true it is it's true yeah son is having a second emergency brain

surgery it seems so convenient the timing just

seems very convenient I get it I I'm not listen I don't know they have

its Gerald other than the things that I read and I could say you know much like

Marty morning wag is not fit to be an offensive coordinator in the NFL yeah I

can call call things as I see them on these sort of things but it's not like

I'm you know like obviously I have a long history of saying marty morning

wake should be stabbed and bled up yes but that's really is the character of

Monday morning like not the actual person himself the the coach who I

despise no man that's like much like we've discussed like the logic behind

like a hatred of baseball players like I hate Derek Jeter yeah

like when he's on that field there's nobody I hate more when they when it's a

talking about like you know like the Yankees and everything like that see

Jeter stupid fucking face and I get angry but if I was at a party in New

York and then Jeter walked up and he's like hey how's it going I'd be like

you're a fake you are a fake motherfucker that's it it is peach this

motherfucker no I mean like you know if you're Michael Vick or something like

that there's there's obviously difference between Michael Vick now and

Michael Vick then wow I mean Michael Vick probably heat of dogfighting yeah

Michael Vick okay fair enough arrested Michael Vick nonetheless so apparently

the story according to Corey the story's accurate which I had not heard but

Fitzgerald's sign had emergency surgery and now he's going in for a second

emergency surgery there was a to put it put that into context just to make it so

it doesn't seem like we were downing the surgery yeah when when he Fitzgerald was

supposed to sit in from the council and they were gonna do the open open doors

where people say whether or not they approve or disapprove of Fitzgerald has

just got more Police Department yeah comment in comment period yeah and the

night before that was due to happen he left town and said he an emergency yeah

and there wasn't any information for the entire weekend about what the emergency

was just that he had an emergency and at

that point seemed like nobody when nobody knew anything it seemed like oh

he has an emergency right but it does in fact seem like he his son is having some

legitimate legitimate like yeah but you know possibly you know fatal surgery

they could be the question though is if things were going well for him in this

job interview would he have backed out or would he

have kept on I mean this again just based off of what little information I

have yeah I would I would tend to think that he probably doesn't want to make

any kind of moves of his son's health is in questions and he probably would have

even if everyone was like welcoming in with him I mean he broadly would be

Commissioner if people were like super happy to have him coming down it

wouldn't have taken so long because also here yeah and some of the best

children's hospitals in the world mm-hmm see what I'm saying like I would

understand why you wouldn't want to move if you're having a family emergency with

health implications especially like you know you probably don't want to lose or

have any kind of problem with your health insurance yeah

switching doctors are switching anything like that if your be far away from your

kid if it's just you going so be that as it may

he's now withdrawn his name which means we are back to square one where Kevin

Rubio is in a shady room right now looking at the options of for people who

everyone hates yes trying to decide which one to go with but he go and the

whole thing God knows she's not going to take any of the comments from the

comment period and use that as guidance to say you know maybe just maybe I

shouldn't do this secretively maybe I should listen to what the people said

and you know have an open in public conversation how about this how about

just like early on the presidential race yeah before you have all the people like

all the defined candidates and stuff like that a lot of polling places will

just say who do you intend to vote for if they decide to run yeah and that

opens it up to literally anyone who could possibly be present yeah

they would probably take votes like if somebody made that call right now they

would probably take votes for Alexandria cause they're Cortez even though she's

not legally able to run for it she's not old enough to be the United States but

I'm saying like by the way there would probably be people who say that they

want to vote for her yeah and they would put that as an

answer on the thing even though they aren't eligible to be President yeah

with Schwarzenegger a couple years ago after that yeah because they put it but

he's a foreign-born person so he's not right well or Ted Cruz I mean who yes

but the I think it would be interesting if you just had a basic nomination

period where anybody and everyone can nominate somebody to be Baltimore police

commissioner and you know obviously a lot of them are just gonna be stupid

like we can't make your uncle Rick yes yes two years on the force be police

commissioner I mean you might do a good really great guy sure he doesn't get in

any kind of trouble and he doesn't shoot anybody but just not enough experience

to be police commissioner what's the saying if you if you just take a take a

week and say we're we're accepting all nominations for people who would either

like to nominate themselves or nominate somebody else as somebody that we should

examine and then you have a list of thousand names yeah that are all

available in the Internet and people could look at them all they want well

and then just start working down the list and you know obviously you're

probably gonna do a system where you pair out people immediately like Oh

Rajee can be police commissioner good I could

yeah but they wouldn't allow you to the FOP would go on strike immediately they

wouldn't have to know because I'd fire everybody so but no I yeah okay we're

starting a new union Oakland did this though they said we are gonna put a Blue

Ribbon Commission together and they're gonna pick one and we're gonna let

public submission pick four and then we're gonna pair down I think they said

they got like 200 submissions and they pared it down to four mm-hm most of them

were like you know Huey Newton uh dead also

black panther so probably not yeah dead being the more important part of that

but probably wouldn't take a job on a police force even if you offered it to

yeah yeah yeah remember less so they paired it down a pair to down paired

down it so they had four who a guy who didn't make the shortlist is what's his

name foreign Baltimore cop who's wrong Rogan

occasionally oh god yeah although maybe ironically I'm not like a huge support

of his as much as I used to be but he might be a good name for the for the

Baltimore City badge I mean experience with the department

that's that's a benefit I don't know if you know part of the problem with being

a police commissioner and it it seems like I'm going back to this touch tone a

lot during this episode but there's almost a different skill set than being

a police officer yeah so you have to be a police officer

officer most of the time to end up being police commissioner because they want to

see you've done 20 years on the force yeah somewhere and that you've worked

your way up the ranks and you know even if you're not a commissioner at another

city you're you know like the second or third in command and they're you know

like commanding command right but the the skill set that it takes to be the

executive of the police department is different then yeah the skills it takes

to be a cop keep talking I'm trying I was I've been like pairing my brain for

a minute there though you're talking about a Anthony batts because I think he

was Oakland Police Commissioner for a while there - Michael Oh Michael what

Michael a boy Michael would yeah yeah so I don't know that he's uh he's a

horrible choice yes he is a cop I do feel like he's got he's better at the

executive stuff than he would have been at the policing but he's also like

police friendly cuz he's like hey it's not all your guy's fault

we need to prune the tree and get the bad apples out of it you know I was

thinking about it like this like why didn't the the I was thinking about a

good analogy for like the police department recently here and it was

imagine that we have a like a decorative plate with money on it okay that's just

like sitting on the and the table right by the door right

and we people come into our place all the time and we trust people that won't

take the money yes that's laying there yeah and of the

people that we trust the most like the cops who would expect to never take the

money because that there they took a job where they responses they're responsible

for that sort of thing yeah they would probably be one of the people who would

take the money the most yes and that basic violation of trust is the problem

and I the idea of they're not all bad or they're not all you know like my my

cousin is a police officer and he's not one of the problem please and it's like

the fact that so many cops have taken the money makes me skeptical of cops

taking the money yeah so it's not it's not about whether or not your cousin is

a good guy or anything like that it's about every cop who walks in here take

some money yep and I can trust if 90% of them do it I can't trust the other 10%

but again Michael a wood fired from the department and then branded a rat for

speaking out about the dirty shit that happened yeah may be a good choice and

turns out much worse than he ever talked about yes yeah yeah oh yeah good choice

that's for school after that so I think also Barksdale from what I've heard I

don't remember his time there I feel like I should have cuz we were living in

the city when he was working there but hmm everything I've heard from him

though seems like a good choice yeah yeah Barksdale seems like a positive

choice so I think I would worry though something something that I mean

Fitzgerald gonna do this we talked about the tweets from Ryan Dorsey last week

yeah or the week before I don't remember

which where he was basically saying that it all the answers that he got from

Fitzgerald when they went down to went down to Fort Worth were not what they

were hoping for in terms of the leader of the Baltimore Police Department going

forward and I I think we should worry about people who I mean the the concern

I have with Barksdale is that he might say things out in public that make the

public think that they're on he's on their side and then he's gonna say

things to the troops behind the like once the the door closes and were

it's just us boys here yeah just as boys so now that we've got no the media is

not here let's talk about all the things we're gonna do to black people yeah the

other black people yeah you know the undesirable ones yeah so I guess we'll

see and the next few weeks will be telling I have a feeling that he was

just gonna do the same thing she did last time like you said it in a meeting

our room and just pick somebody which I feel like she's gonna do it real quick -

yeah I feel like Monday we're gonna hear a name that we've never heard before

and she's gonna be like after a thorough investigation and vetting process this

is an entire weekend on LinkedIn yes why not an entire you know I had other

things to do I have my crochet I gotta get into but you know I'd looked on

LinkedIn I spent a sizable 45 minutes to an hour on LinkedIn looking for possible

police commissioner's this is the guy this is the guy who's gonna save this

city this guy Randy smiley is going to be the

new police commissioner Randolph not Randy doesn't go by Randy

the long list of police departments that he has said interactions with or it just

turns out to be a drug Camden he is a bit arrested by New York been arrested

by Miami been arrested by LAPD he's been expensive many many police departments

have good positive references for he has I'm not even gonna lie 15 different

agencies under his belt yeah it's an incredible number yeah oh yeah oh yeah

so we'll see and we'll keep you guys posted over the next few weeks

there's no gonna be new sports news out of Baltimore because again the Capitals

don't count so we'll keep you posted on the Baltimore corner and the develop you

don't counter yes well anyway you get the straight dude I thought that I

thought that that that to tell ya I lightning round things real quick I just

want thoughts yes the first major potential presidential

nominee has gangster kandacy don't do it Elizabeth Warren now do you have a do

you have a take on Elizabeth Warren as a potential Democratic nominee the

president don't do it I mean listen leg I don't know who is going to win it

ain't gonna be Elizabeth Warren not that I don't think she would be a good

president not that I don't think she'd be a good executive in general I like

her ideas I like honestly I wanted to stay in the Senate so we can get that a

student loan thing passed and done I mean less you could do that by executive

order but I also don't want to lose in 2020 because I want this national

nightmare to be over and Warren ain't the one I mean who is the one though

that's the problem we need to find like III I can understand your logic that

that Warren isn't the one that gets you energized and excited to go vote for

Democrats and twenty to one I don't care about that what I'm saying I don't know

you're getting confused because Democrats are gonna vote for Democrat no

matter what we are all all leftists are tired of that so the people who do vote

are gonna vote for it well we need though is a gilchrist we need a guy who

appear appeals not just to Democrats who are gonna vote for whatever Democrat we

put up there God knows we showed that so big I know it can't be beta what can it

be baby it just can't be beta I don't I don't think he has appeal amongst

Republicans but we need somebody like baito

I in saying I enjoy that a martin o'malley decided to get out ahead of it

by the way and say he's not running in 2020 and that he's endorsing bado before

beta even enough here's the ironic thing you need a Martin O'Malley

we don't need martin O'Malley you need a Martin O'Malley

we need somebody who look who has a pedigree standing up on that stage to be

mopped up by other people yes yeah a guy who was walking through West Baltimore

and Montgomery County and was comfortable in both places mm-hmm

we need a guy who can go to South Mississippi I've been so Freddie gray oh

yeah walk in this came home early from his trip to Ireland walking the streets

I'm not good Guinea's press coverage cut out every 30 seconds next to the catch

me on my Twitter feed some of the best videos you see where he can't even talk

just cuz people she's cursing in the background of his video

I was watching the video of Garcetti - at some speaking to the public offense

and people just started like screaming at him and he's just like you know I

can't if you don't give me an opportunity to speak then I'm not gonna

be able to speak to these issues and just people are doing so we need a

martin O'Malley type we need a baito type and not baito I mean Garcetti seems

like a Martin O'Malley guy he is but I just don't like just not enough not

enough credentials like here's where uh here's where I stand I have started

following the mayor of South Bend Indiana oh god I know who that is - God

what is his name her name puga lead on down or something yeah it's I don't

can't remember and did the last names gonna be a hindrance to him because he's

actually just like when the roof is your vintage I can't even do it you read new

yes to read that's gonna be a problem when you can't pronounce the name of the

care the candidate is usually a bad but start he is a moderate Blue Dog Democrat

who is liberal in all the ways I like to see I mean I'm not gonna vote either way

so it doesn't matter but liberal and all the ways I like to see but like

conservative in the ways that will attract moderate Republicans not even

modern Republic's Republicans who are like no more none of this you're not

doing this anymore I'm not voting for another Trump and he'll get those guys

that's who we need and you could follow just check out my tweets I've retweeted

him a couple times and I read I tweeted earlier this week with a thinking emoji

mm-hmm after I reviewed his timeline I was like this guy is uh he's alright

he's alright but again the last name that I can't

remember nor pronounce if I could remember it yeah is gonna be a detriment

and the fact that he's the mayor of South Bend and in two years is expected

for the White House a pretty big jump probably be he too big of a jump maybe

you want to spend a couple years building up your social media team and

oh no he's got a really he's got like a fire team Oh does it yeah it's worth for

what it's worth like he's apparently more

popular and well-known didn't like the mayor of Chicago hmm rom immanuel

immanuel yes yeah maybe not more well known because Rahm was with the Obama

White House but mother of Ari Emanuel we Co can you is that true yeah you really

didn't know I didn't know that how would you think we've talked about that how

would you like to be another another sibling in the Emanuel family by the way

yeah here's my son Rahm he's mayor of Chicago here's my son Ari he's the

biggest agent Hollywood has ever seen and here's Jerry he works at the DGI

Fridays at TGA from I count the money they trust me

um this is the general manager thank you very much

I feel like this what we should do how about this let's go let's set ourselves

a goal for two weeks from now okay let's come back with some options on 250 250

episode 250 yes on episode 250 yes I was there two fifty which will be the first

one did you think I was asking for 250 ah yeah it's way too fucking deep of a

Benjamin hey there's one guy running I don't know why we need 198 Carl Douglas

he was on the oj defense be enough I'm really really trying here now ok so

absolute 250 let's come back with options ok hopefully the shutdown will

well I hope for the sake of the people who are involved yeah a shutdown will be

over yeah I hope for the Trump administration the shutdown is still

going strong does this is gonna be an abomination

second history it's gonna be it's gonna be a race to the finish

you know you know when it's gonna end right before people start blaming Mitch

McConnell Mitch McConnell yeah oh yeah cuz he's gonna be let's wrap this shit

Oh Donald as soon as people are just going like you know whose fault it

really is Mitch McConnell for not calling a vote I mean they had a hundred

and hundred and nothing vote the other day they could override his veto yeah

it's not like you can want to be able to find Republicans in the house to be able

to give you the two thirds all the Democrats will be involved it's just

like as soon as that message starts getting out more than

whatever Trump says about the wall and its 24-hour coverage of people going

like I know whose fault this really is as McConnell's that's when Mitch picks

up the phone he's is like I were doing a vote right now yeah now anything that I

am not having this should happen on on MSNBC on my watch so uh by the way I did

the research and about what happened and I was trying to figure out what happened

so the house sent the Senate a bill right the Senate voted on that bill 100

to 1 and sent it back to the house yeah because it wasn't quite the same bill

that the house sent them there were several amendments which is what happens

and right before they went in conference about that bill the Republicans in the

House passed a second bill that was similar to the first one but included

the wall and the Senate Democrat said this is a non-starter if you're bringing

that to our conference we're not even going to talk about it yeah so we know

that something got passed it never got vetoed by Trump and this is the CR that

was the yes yeah but the important thing is it never

got vetoed because if they do vote and they do send it to trump any vetoes it

then they can override the veto with 66 and it becomes law anyway McConnell is

Trump is to blame but McConnell is deeply involved in that blame as well

yeah because all he's got to do is send them a bill all I'm saying is people the

way these things work is somebody gets blamed up front yeah and then the longer

goes on ancillary people get inflamed and then I get shift yeah and at the

moment that it seems like the wind is blowing from Trump to McConnell is as

soon as the second you're gonna hear a vote yeah well then there's a CR to

continue the government for three months while we discuss possibilities for very

effectively and I think it's shorter weeks something tells me that they want

to take this can like they don't want to have like a three week or one month

because if they do that then there's still gonna be coverage of people if

it's three months then you get the three days story of here's the thing of

shutdowns over who's who's to blame and then people forget that three months

from now we have to do this all over yeah they'll do short period to be three

weeks because you know what happens at the end of those three weeks they will

send him another bill or they'll bring it up and he'll say no I told you where

I stand no wall no sign and then McConnell can push it back over

to him and get what he really wants which is a government doesn't work yeah

McConnell's goal is to spend the next two years with the Democratic House just

not doing anything yeah that would be the best-case scenario from McConnell as

long as it doesn't involve it look bad on him hurt him politically at all then

he'll do whatever he can to keep the government that he's a gonna shit yeah I

don't care if your kids eat beans because or don't eat at all yeah who's

their house women like the beans on the toothpicks like oh yeah over top of a

fire in an oil can you know he does not give a shit at all

his millions are still safe anyway morning in America it's morning in

America God why is there so much fire if you want to go to other places where

it's morning in America you can go to the other comic or do the anthem calm or
