Best Bank for Nickel Boxes - Bank Battle Round 7! - Duration: 12:24.

it's time for round seven of the bank box battle series with nickels

Hey everybody its Rob with Rob finds treasure and as you know we're now on

box number seven of this battle series we've got the B of a leading the way at

thirty three point eight points per box chases in second at 31 three and Wells

Fargo is holding up the rear twenty five point nine points I figured since that's

the order that they're in we kick it off at Wells Fargo in last place move on to

chase and second-to-last and then finish with the leader

BMA as you know I'll be using my nickel coin hunts Mac we looking for Buffalo's

obviously some over dates double dies any over mint marks as well and then

we're looking for the key dates in The Jeffersons and then any heirs of

varieties that we can find them as well still in the hunt for another V nickel

it's been a while hoping that one of these three boxes produces and leave

some silver at least some buffaloes and maybe if we're really lucky we could

find at least one V nickel but if not we'll keep hunting that's how it goes

I've checked them all they're all circling and nickels so that's a good

sign we have three boxes to hunt I didn't see any Enders on the top side of

any of the boxes so we'll be surprised if we find one during the hunt but as

you know I'll be checking the top and bottom before whenever you roll and if I

find something worth showing before open the rule or in the roll I'll be sure to

loop you in that being said I love hunting nickels and I'm excited to get

into this hunt let's do it roll number nine at the Wells Fargo box and we've

got three 50s including a no 9 bring in because you found our first 40s nickel

and it's a 1947 San Francisco which I will take every day rule number 13 and

we've got a pretty nice 1941 here but it's facing me so I saw it

41 P but you don't find him in this kind of luster was still on him yeah it's

dinged up pretty good for being a circulation but I don't see him too

often like that so I'm happy to found it well 21 and I think we have a couple of

oldies in here first ones in 1941 Denver and I think I see the top of an older

one right here 1946 Philadelphia all right

two in one roll maybe there's a third rule 23 another 40s nickel another 46

Philadelphia and while I got to here just in case there's another oldie

figured I'd bring it in fainting stood out and it doesn't

twenty-five just open it laid them out and I could see a 49 so I figured I'd

fulfillment anyway go ahead and bring you in forth indeed a 49 and it's a P so

it can't be the 49 deal brass but still gonna look let's get back to the hunt

roll 29 found the oldest nickel of the Box 1940 Philadelphia well number 33 and

we've got a nickel we haven't found in a while a 38 not a 39 38 hopefully it's

one of the key dates a DRN s but they're hard to find

it's a 38 P that's a bummer but you know what it's a 30 s nickel and that's a

cool find oldest of the box roll number 41 is gonna produce a 1941 Philadelphia

well 49 is gonna give us another 40s nickel and it is a 1940 Philadelphia we

finished in that box of Wells Fargo nickels and it did what it usually does

not find any silver no Buffalo's nothing really valuable we did get 18 in the 50s

and the find of the 50s is this 52 D we got nine in the 40s so that's pretty

good as well as the 1938 Philadelphia so I've got a lot of Jefferson's along with

309 s couple of damaged coins and then I kept a couple of these nickels now cos

had 64 then the ring of death was beautiful shame

and then in 1969 in good shape as well so pulled them out probably gonna toss

this 64 back because of the ring of death but I wanted to show you that it

was a couple of nice ones in the later rolls well plug it into the stat sheet

it's got a lot of points on the board but nothing really epic and see if chase

could find us some goodies more than just early Jeffersons rolled over nine

of the chaise box guys all we've got is a 50 so far so I was concerned but I

think we got a silver in this role I figured I'd get you guys caught up in

case it was looks like it from the front it's also got some gunk on it it's a

1944 I believe and it's a 44 P backs not too bad

fronts a little toasty but it's still 35% silver and we'll take it for sure on

the board with some silver roll number 12 got a 40s nickel here and it's a 1947

San Francisco roll 13 another nickel from the 40s 1941 Philadelphia

we're on roll 14 guys and I think we have a second silver already of the box

looks like it from the edge and we do it's another 1944 and it's another

Philadelphia so that makes to 1944 peas and the first 14 rolls well number 21

got another nickels from the 40s 1946 Philadelphia roll 22 and I think we have

another war nickel right here this could be our third of the box and it is and

it's a denver can it be a 43 d 45 d well there was a 45 P we could check for

reverse doubling but still a nice silver nickel and that's

the third one of the box and only our 22nd role rule 23 and look what we got

here 1939 is it possible to have a mint mark

it's not 39p though you know we'll be checking it for the double died on the

Monticello word and on the five cents words so we're gonna put that under the

microscope right now see if we can get lucky and find ourselves a variety I'm

not seeing it either way 39 nickel in the box can't get mad at that for all 26

and there's another 39 now the chance at a mint mark did we find one we did not

let's check it for the doubling

and no doubling as fate would have it on this one as well but it's another 39

nickel in the Box to go with three silvers the chase box is now done and

not a bad situation we got what three 59s couple of 57 56 55 to 54 is 53 then

we got a 52 P a 52 s and a 52 D so all three from the 52 year which is nice

we got a 47 a 46 a45 d war nickel 244 P war nickels a 41 to 39 Philadelphia's we

also got three 2009's a couple of nice coins to look at and I'm telling you I

know it's a 1916 but it just feels and sounds then looks like silver so I

pulled it out I know it's not but it just felt weird so I figured I'd pull it

out to look at it a little closer after this box on I'm pretty sure that this

Chase Bank box is gonna win the Battle of the boxes between it and Wells Fargo

but it's now to the leader to see who's boss all right let's get into this B of

a box next we're on roll 16 of the B of a box guys and it's been slow we've got

a handful of late 50s to start we finally got our first 40s nickel it's

got some of that album glue on it as well kind of odd but it's a 41 Denver

and it gets on the board with an early Jefferson time to get cooking roll 20

our second 40s nickel of the box 1941 Philadelphia roll 25 the B of a box and

looks like we've got a silver I think it's in 1945 they put this down and get

a better look at it yep 1945 San Francisco good to see

silver even if it's a little bit trashed it's still silver all right slow box so

far Silver's gonna help out let's find some more role 30 got another

40s nickel here in 1948 Philadelphia role 32 and we've got another 1939 MIT

Mork Jerry says still 39 P who's checking for some doubling and it

appears to have no doubling on the word Monticello or on the word five cents but

still an early Jefferson and we'll take it we're all 39 and we've got a 1942

non-silver Denver Mint though always fun to find one of those where he finished

on that box of B of a nickels and it was definitely light on the fines

we only got 56 57 58 and 59 nothing in the early 50s we didn't get a 48 of 42

non silver and a couple of 40 ones along with one silver war nickels 1945 s we

did also find in 1939 P nickel and three 2009's

it's not gonna score many points because the lack of fines but I always take

silver in a box and that makes me happy let me go ahead and plug in the

information to make it official to see if that Chase Bank ended up pulling this

out which I believe it did so he plugged the data into the spreadsheet and

actually was a lot closer than I thought Wells Fargo pulled out 37 points mainly

because of the sheer amount of early Jeffersons it had in the box

no really great finds but so many early Jeffersons is scored well Chase Bank

ended up taking the round barely at 37 and a half

not as many early Jeffersons but the three silver war nickels definitely

helped a lot and then B of a had one of its worst boxes at twenty point five

actually he did have its worst box so at the end of round seven now we have a new

leader Chase Bank at 32 to be of a now drops the second at 31 9 and Wells Fargo

to pick up some points at 27 5 3 rounds to go it's anyone's game technically so

we'll see who has the next big box around 8:00 hopefully enjoying the

Battle of the banks with the Nichols if you are I would appreciate a thumbs up

and as always everyone happy hunting and thanks for watching

Premiering TONIGHT: Carl Weber's The Family Business | Get To Know The Whole Family - Duration: 40:09.

Hi, I'm Christian Keyes.

I play Niles Monroe on Carl Weber's "The Family Business."

"The Family Business" was originally a "New York Times"

bestselling book by author Carl Weber.

It was originally shot as a film,

an amazing film, by Tri Destined Studios.

With help of BET, it is now an incredible hot new show,

your favorite new show, my favorite new show,

that you can binge watch,

you can fall in love with right here on BET.

All previous episodes are on On Demand BET,

and today we're gonna go behind the scenes.

Today we're gonna have some of your favorite characters,

almost all of your favorite characters, actually,

and then we're gonna have some new characters

that you haven't even met yet.

You don't even know how important

or how crucial they're gonna be

to the rest of the season and future seasons.

Put your seatbelt on. Today we're gonna have a ball.

We got questions, we got dirt, we gonna dig up all the bones.

We're gonna do it all. Get ready.

Carl Weber's "The Family Business."

This is Christian Keyes and this is Carl Weber's

"The Family Business." Now, without further ado,

I wanna introduce the mainstay, the foundation, of the family

and the show and "The Family Business,"

Ernie Hudson and Valarie Pettiford.

Hey.

Yay, woohoo!

Thank you guys for joining us today.

They pay LC Duncan and the infamous Chippy.

Chippy's in the house.

Yes, she's in the house. I love what you have on, too.

Thank you, it's very Chippy.

Yes. Now, for you, Ernie,

you've played a lot of very interesting

and incredible characters in your career.

Oh, thanks.

How does LC Duncan stack up against them.

I love LC Duncan.

I guess I love all the characters

that I've been fortunate enough to play.

[inaudible] amazing man who has sort of created this world

that he occupies and he's pulled this family into it.

To me, it's a bigger than life character

and that makes it very special.

I've reached an important decision.

It's finally time for me to turn over the reins of leadership

to a new generation,

and so today, I'm announcing, reluctantly, my retirement.

What about you, Chippy?

Yes, baby.

I mean Valarie. How does Chippy stack up for you?

Also, do you share any similarities?

How is she different from you?

Well, first of all, I am so honored

to play this particular role

because I've always wanted to play a mob wife.

This is a mob wife, bar none. This is what this is.

It is a dream come true. Thank you, Carl Weber,

for writing this incredible character.

I've always had an affinity for these types of films,

the gangster, the mafia, that type of stuff.

You know, legit by day and gangster by night.

They all think they're doing well

and doing right by their choices and stuff.

Chippy is the epitome of what I think a mob wife is

and it is just so freeing and so magical to play.

Gotcha.

Not sure it's safe here. There have been inquiries.

Okay. Alright. One second, babe.

Mrs. Brewer. Thank you.

No, thank you.

I'm back.

You were listed as one of the, I believe,

top 10 outfits at the Soul Train Awards.

Yeah.

Come on through [inaudible 00:04:25]

Come on through. Come through, [inaudible]

What do you think about the fashion on the show itself?

It's fantastic. I mean, you have something for everyone

and very specific style for each character.

It's top notch.

I mean, we're a top notch family with a lot of money

and we can dress any way we dag well please.

As veterans in this game, in this industry,

in this profession, what's different,

being on the "Family Business" set, for you guys?

Well, for me-

First off, I've got to say the writing is amazing

and just coming to work, but I'm really impressed with

in all these years I've been acting,

I've been looking for a role, an opportunity,

and I'm so thankful that Carl Weber,

Indy Brown, who is a show runner for this-

Amazing show runner who happens to be female,

who happens to be a black woman.

Well, that's-

Which is a rarity, you know what I mean?

That's the thing I'm saying.

It was that it came from people of color.

I'm not taking away from wherever it comes from,

but I'm very happy that this project

and just see the diversity among the crew.

I don't know if I can speak for everybody,

but I am gonna speak for everybody.

Everybody likes coming to work.

Yeah, yeah.

I mean, everyone really likes coming to work.

That's the vibe I get.

It's beautiful. There's smiles.

Everybody's respectful of each other.

There's a lot of love on the set.

I've worked with Tri Destined for quite some time

and what I love about them, from the first time I met them

until now, is their integrity, their heart, their love.

It really is like a family on this set.

The crew, there is loyalty,

and then casting these incredible actors

and having Carl Weber's incredible words to play

and have Trey at the helm directing his butt off.

I think Tri Destined, the casting,

which is pretty amazing to me,

but when I sit at the head of the table and I look out,

I believe this could be my family,

because I've been cast with some folks that I'm like,

"Ain't no way in the world I could ever"-

You know. Yeah.

But, yeah, no. It takes a little sensitivity

to be able to bring that element to play.

Yes.

Yeah, they look like my kids. They look like our kids.

It's easy to get into the believability.

Acting is believing.

If I can't believe it, then it doesn't play.

But I believe this is a family.

Yeah, I think there's an integrity to it

that is palatable, it's real, and it's very special.

We're at goddamn war!

Now, your character and the Nevada character,

you guys are really close.

My heart.

He's an up and coming actor, talented young man.

Yes, he is.

Now, is it Chippy's job to show him

or teach him the family business?

Abso-tutely, it's my job! Are you kidding me?

Yes, I've taken my boy under my wing.

That's what grandmothers think, but you know what?

I spend a lot of time with him.

I'm the one that schools the boy.

Grandmothers say-

Yeah, you know. Grandpa's there, too.

You think you do. You think you do.

You guys are bringing him up in the family way.

Yes, we're molding him. He's the future.

Yeah, he's the future.

Okay, okay.

I've been looking at this expedition

and it's only gonna be three weeks

and maybe I could go to the Hamptons afterwards?

Mexico. You wanna go camping in Mexico?

Yeah.

Well, look, first of all,

I hope that this show, not only for me

but for Carl Weber, BET, Tri Destined Studios,

has seven seasons, a couple spinoffs.

I wanna say, we really feel very blessed

to have you a part of "The Family Business,"

as well. Oh!

Thank you, I appreciate that.

We love him, yes, it's true, even though it's still weird

that you're not playing my son, but that's okay.

I know! You've been my mom in three movies.

Three movies, but yeah.

I bet y'all can't name them at home.

Tweet me and let me know.

Tweet him.

Welcome back to The Family Business,

Carl Weber's, The Family Business.

I am joined by Javicia Leslie and Arrington Foster.

They play Rio and Paris

and they are always starting some you know

what we're going to get into these characters.

Welcome.

Thank you. Thank you.

Oh, man that was such a good-

At the same time.

We're still twining.

I love it, I love it. You guys have a great synergy,

a collective energy, that's amazing.

It's on-camera and off.

It's great casting and clearly two great humans.

I'll tell you why, where you from Arrington?

I'm from Maryland, okay.

What part of Maryland are you from?

PG County.

Exactly, we're both from PG County.

Message, okay.

DMV, all day. DMV representing.

You can't even teach that.

It's just either you got it or you don't.

I like it, I like it. Now, your character Paris,

lots of ... hashtag hot ass mess.

Lots of adjectives can be used for Paris.

A lot of people love that character,

a lot of people love to hate that character

and a lot of people are in the middle.

Some of them would say love you,

some of them would say they wanted to choke you.

I don't think Paris would mind the choking.

She like that.

Niles is not going to comment and neither is Christian.

Tell us about Paris?

You know what, I've hear that.

I've heard that she's a love or hate kind of character,

however I feel like any hate that's there

it's because she does something

that you probably have been thinking of doing

and you're just too scared to do it.

That's Paris all together.

You see a man, you want to say something and I know this

because I am not Paris in capacity, whatsoever-

That was one of my questions.

I'm very fearful, as far as going after a man that I want.

I am almost like how School Days was, not the movie,

but just in general when you were a young child

where I'll hit you to tell you I like you.

You wouldn't shoot the shot though.

It's 2019 almost, you wouldn't put one up?

Not Javicia.

Paris would take the shot. Paris would shoot the shot.

She would shoot and it would land, you know what I mean.

Okay, yeah.

I think that I get why people

would first say they don't like her,

but it's really just because they don't have the guts

to shoot their shot like she does,

especially because she lands.

Every time.

She lands, every time. Every time.

Yes she does.

Every time.

Every time.

I heard you were looking for me.

Yeah, I was looking to cash in that rain check

of buying you that drink.

Hell with the drink, I'm starving.

How about you just buy me an expensive dinner?

Episode four, she landed.

Jeez Louise.

So, continuing with that, we've seen Paris with shopping bags.

We've seen Paris with machine guns.

What exactly is the definition of her role

in the Duncan family?

So, what I love so much about Paris

is finally we see a successful black female

that has the money, she grew up with the money,

so you get to see something that's not common,

as a reflection, in Black communities.

It doesn't mean that Black people don't have it,

they have it.

We come from an area of very successful Black people.

PG County was the richest

Black county in the United States.

So, it's just like, we come from that,

but it was never represented and I love that in this show

it's a representation of Black success.

Yeah, and Black excellence.

Black excellence, I was just about to say that.

Then you also see the other side,

which is the kids that some from that,

which is what Rio and Paris represent.

We're the babies.

We're the youngest and I think that what i love about it

is that we're spoiled,

but no matter what, LC instilled us with the skills

to be able to take care of ourself

and take care of our own.

I will fight and die for my brother.

I will fight and die for London,

which, you know, we have this beef.

I will fight and die for my father.

You know how I feel about him.

Daddy no, you got exactly what you paid for.

You gotta kill her.

You didn't send me to finishing school,

you sent me to mercenary school.

Daddy, you wanted something more than Junior and the boys.

You wanted something they'd never expect, Daddy.

You wanted a secret weapon.

That's exactly what you got. You gotta kill her Dad.

You're supposed to kill who I tell ya and when.

Now, God dammit, you just killed your brother.

No matter how it goes and what you can say about her,

you love her loyalty.

Now, on various episodes,

I've seen at least four or five different colors.

Probably the whole rainbow.

What's with the ... It's fresh.

What's behind that, because I like it, it's different?

Well, you know, Rio's that character that's just different.

He stands out, he's flashy, he's sassy,

he brings a little bit of comedy to the ...

'Cause we're a very heavy, dramatic family

and Rio has his dramatic moments,

but he's always going to do something different.

I wouldn't say the black sheep, but definitely-

The Reggie?

Yeah, we're red today,

so it's just kind of one of those things

where he just does his own thing.

So, that's kind of why the colors.

I don't think we've actually seen that on television.

A character that every look is just-

A moment.

A moment. It's a vibe.

Oh shit, this is LA, I need to get my hair done,

I need to change my whole outfit,

come on, let's go Ramon.

But Rio will shoot you too?

That just takes the hair and makeup as well,

Rashida Carbo, Ashland.

But Rio will shoot someone if need be?

Oh yeah, in one of the episodes I have her back.

That's what I love is that in the great writing of Carl

Weber, is that it's a full three dimensional character.

He ain't soft, by no means.

He'll ride or die just like his twin.

I may got one bullet left,

but I'm going to save my sister, you know.

I think as the episodes come on you

get to see more and more layers of Rio.

It's so fun to play.

When Rio saved Paris's life, it's a great moment.

It was great because the guy walked up

talking about you're out of ammo and Rio was like, pow-

Just a clean shot.

I was getting my James Bond moment on.

I was like oh, Rio, today.

Yeah, yeah, I think it was the unexpected.

That's a good look. It's a good look.

You know what I love about Carl, you'll read the script

not knowing if you're going to make it to the next episode.

What I love is that with the fans and social media,

people actually thought like, damn Paris,

you done messed up the chances of your brother ...

He may not come back and it was like,

well first of all, come on now, they can't get rid of me.

Come on, all this swag.

You're so humble.

Even the hashtags, like free Rio.

I love that I'm given that voice and something that ...

We have other shows that are showcasing the LGBT,

but I think that this is a good show that's shoeing that

in this Black family, that's black excellence.

All different facets of characters.

There's a level of strength to that character

and he will shoot you

if you get out of line and you gotta respect that.

Yeah, because LC taught us all.

Gangsta, a little bit.

Yeah.

So, Miss Paris, what is up next romantically,

for the Paris character?

You.

Oh boy.

Darrin Dewitt Henson who plays Orlando Duncan

and I have with Sean Ringgold who plays Junior.

Welcome, fellas. Thank you.

What's going on?

What's going on, man? I'm excited to have you guys.

I'm gonna jump straight to it cuz there's a lot of questions

they want to know the answer to.

I already know the answers but we want to get to

[inaudible]. Orlando, your character,

has just been given the keys to the kingdom.

You are now the new CEO of Duncan Motors

and the family business itself. You've had a lot of opportunity

to interact with a lot of characters.

Do you have a particular

one that you really love shooting scenes with?

Yeah, I love shooting with L.C.

Duncan played by Ernie Hudson, Pop.

How in the hell you expect to run this company

if no one can reach you in a crisis?

Crisis?

Did I stutter?

Look, Harris. Let's roll out. Let these two talk..

Harris. All right, let's go.

Look, Pop. I'm sorry. But what the hell is going on?

I mean not only is he just a OG in the industry

but I get to learn from him every time

I'm on camera with him. I get to learn something new.

There's a nuance that happens each and every time

so very similar to the character

Orlando, he's learning and growing

just from being around his father.

I like it. I like it.

Ernie's got 50 years in and I was floored ...

he doesn't ... Black really don't crack.

Like don't crack. Nope.

I love that. And beige don't age.

Sean Ringgold. Now, listen, you play Junior.

Junior Duncan, that's right now.

What is Junior's role in the Duncan family?

Junior is the protector, the enforcer.

You know I've had to really step up and I have watch everybody.

I have to watch my brother's back, Paris.

Make sure Mom and Dad, everybody's good so once

it's time to put in that work, it gets real.

Yeah, it's believable. I feel like you could hurt

a couple of guys and not break a sweat.

Watch your tone.

Yeah, see. I'm sorry. I apologize.

I come in peace, brother. I come in peace.

Gotcha and that's good. That's good.

We don't want no smoke. We don't want no smoke.

Quick question: Now this is clearly not your first rodeo.

You've been on major shows before.

How did that help you prepare for this type of role here?

I believe being on other shows afforded me the opportunity

to be aware of what's coming next, right?

So there's a popularity that grows.

People recognize you in the street.

There is a sense of responsibility

and that's one of the things that I learned to break down.

The word responsibility means responding to my ability,

which is endless.

And it's a state of come as you are.

You just can't stay as you are. The more responsibility

you have the more that you have to prepare.

There's no such thing as having that great deal

of responsibility and not preparing.

They say success wakes up at 4am in the morning and it does.

So it's about preparing what comes next

whether it's in Darrin's life

or whether it's in the life of Orlando, we have to prepare.

Gotcha. I like that. Good answer.

Yeah, you've done this before.

But speaking of what comes next though,

hold on while you're giggling I've got something for you

because word on the street is-

What happened?

That Junior has a love interest coming.

I believe her name is Sonya.

Is that the character's name? Sonya?

That is her name.

Sonya, yes, played by Braille Evans.

She's wonderful. Beautiful spirit.

Excuse me. Can I talk to you for a second?

Sure. Shouldn't you be in with the Duncans

but how can I help you?

You can start by telling me your name.

My name is Sonya.

Pretty name for a pretty lady.

Thank you.

Just gorgeous on screen.

Our chemistry is fantastic. I love working with her.

Just it feels right. It's a great match.

You're gonna see Big Sexy come on.

Oh. I like this.

I want to watch this show if I wasn't on it

and if I didn't know you,

didn't know you, this is must-see TV.

I think that's the dynamic of it.

Even with my brother, Vegas,

who's played by Michael Jai White.

He's still a part of everything that's going on,

is still somebody that we look up to and still somebody

that is very feared on the street as well.

And not only that, from a physical perspective

of what he can do

but because of his mind and how calculated he is.

And as we saw in one of the episodes

I go to him and explain a decision that Pop has made,

which upsets him a great deal.

You know what, brah? You're the head of the family.

Now you do whatever you got to do to bring my brother back.

You understand me?

But they want Miguel back.

It has to be a trade and Pop ain't gonna-

Hey, I don't give a ... I don't care what Pop wants.

You do whatever you've gotta do to bring my brother home.

I get that. But what about Pop's?

Pop's gonna have his own problems once I talk to Mom.

So there's a lot more coming so everybody's gotta stay tuned.

Exactly. And I don't ...

do you ever look around on set and say like, "Wow!"

Because of the cast, the amount of talent,

the group of names that are making up this cast?

Yeah, we're surrounded

by a great group of people to work with,

to help tell the story that's unfolding in front of the world.

Take a look at my wife. Is she worth it?

Because see I married her and I can tell you she ain't worth it.

Now, you need to ask your mind is she worth dying for?

Mmm, mmm, mmm. Look at you.

Still my knight and shining armor.

Yeah, whatever.

Boo, baby. I just want to have some fun.

C'mon.

I think one of the most amazing things about it

is we're getting incredible feedback rapidly

and that's exciting more than anything.

You know when you do a play, you get feedback immediately.

This is almost happening now whether it's on social media,

whether it's in the super market

or driving down the highway in the car.

People are honking going, "Yo, Orlando."

Is he alive? Is Rio alive, Orlando?

As far as I know he's fine, Ma.

[inaudible 00:06:56] I know that look.

It's Pop. He's been shot and it's not looking good.

38 years. He's always called me back.

38 years. He's always called me back.

I knew something was wrong. I knew it.

I knew it. Oh God.

Question. And I'd like both of you guys to weigh in on this.

Why do you think people are receiving the show so well

and falling in love with it so fast?

Well, to be honest I believe it's because

everybody loves chocolate.

Okay.

I think people love this show

because everybody loves chocolate.

No-

Keepin' it real.

Cuz everyone is represented on the show

and I think to see men that are strong, intelligent

and empowering and powerful and protective,

I think that's what we need in our society

that the men go out and get the work done.

And we have within Javicia's character a woman

who can be silent and deadly at the same time.

Danny watch out. Danny watch out.

Go go go.

[inaudible 00:08:41] Where are you? Go go go go back.

Okay, well you know? And then also-

And then we've got Big Sexy.

And the fashion, and the cars and we've got

Big Sexy over here.

So you know they gonna tune in for that as well as the writing

and Carl Weber showed out on this

as far as putting together circumstances

that you ... that end up being nail biters.

And you're like, "Wait, what's next?

I've gotta wait til next Tuesday?"

I'm offended at the end of every episode

that I've gotta wait another week.

Welcome back to Carl Weber's, The Family Business.

With me now are Miguel A. Nunez Jr, and Ms.Tami Roman,

who play London and Harris, welcome.

Thank you.

Welcome, welcome.

Thank you Christian.

How you guys doing?

I'm blessed man. Blessed and highly favored.

You guys look amazing. Thank you.

I see the green and the green. That's successful.

Well, you know that's how we do.

That's my beautiful wife.

Okay, okay. Real quick. I wanna talk about

one of your favorite lines of mine personally.

And I know a lot of people re-tweeted it

and was talking about it,

"Before there was a Paris there was a London."

Mommy. Paris [inaudible] gun.

Before there was a Paris, there was London. Let's go.

Hey, get into it now.

What is that? Process it.

Character where ... Oh yeah, I got it.

But I want you to elaborate on that for the folks at home

who might not have got it.

Well I think as I play London, Paris is my younger sister.

So, she doesn't understand that every road

that she's trying to travel,

I've already done it. You know what I mean?

And I was good at it, so you got big shoes to follow.

But, London is at a place in her life where she's trying to,

I don't know, run from her past and be something different.

But, she's constantly looking in the mirror

and the reflection is, "Hey, don't you remember me?"

So, she's being dragged in because she's a Duncan,

but she would like to let it go and move on.

Got you.

Now, in this dynamic between Harris and London in the show,

there's an element of domestic violence, physical abuse.

Is that something that we're continue to see?

Calm down, okay. Calm down.

Mommy? Yes?

Are you okay? I am.

Yeah, Momma okay.

So we weren't going to go all into this.

And now you all trying to ...

Listen Ike. First of all, this is almost ...

don't get all balled up on the show.

But no, is that something because

that's a very relevant topic.

Is that something the show's going to continue to address

and deal with? Speak on it.

Well, I think we'd be remiss if we didn't address it,

because it is happening in today's society.

A lot of women are going through this type of situation,

and trying to figure out how to deal with it.

Now, Miguel is luckily just playing a character.

Don't forget that, you all.

Yeah, don't hate him so much.

You know. Just a little.

And we have to bring to life

what Carl Weber did so fabulously,

which that was an element in the book,

so we have to make it [crosstalk 00:02:37].

The real issues of life basically.

And Andy Brown is one of the executive producers,

and tried studio only-

And show runner.

And show runner. She came up with ...

We're going to start visiting some domestic abuse shelters,

so we can come at it from a healing point,

and just not entertainment.

Because like you said, this is an issue that's out there.

All right now, Harris,

in regards to the Harris character,

because he has so much going on. The family attorney,

you tried to or thought abut killing L.C. Duncan,

and he eventually kills his own father Sal Dash.

When I came in here they told me I had to make a choice.

You know the funny thing is,

you made that for me a long time ago.

How does it feel to be the JR Ewing of the family?

Well, every successful TV show, our series has elements,

and they love, they hate, their whole, the this,

and this has all of those elements.

And, I just happen to be one part of that element.

And, that is a really fine line to play,

to be the attorney for a powerful family

and at the same time, he ...

I don't know if the people got that he was my father.

A lot people got that he was my father.

So, I was just in a really bad situation,

and I weighed the options.

First of all, if you saw how nervous I was in that car.

You were sweating bullets.

I thought I was going to die. And I've heard a lot of people,

they really loved that scene because they said, "I felt it."

And everybody's ...

Carl Weber's writing is so brilliant, everybody's just,

"I was just waiting for him to turn around and blow you away.

I thought the driver was going to turn around."

And everybody ... It's just the writing,

and intensity of the moment.

But, to play that kind of a ...

It's a really fine line, because I mean, I got my wife,

I got this one this side, and Sal Dash,

it was either my life or L.C.'s. So I had to make that choice,

and I think I chose the right ...

I think you did, because let's be clear, okay?

The Duncan's are an affluent, prominent,

African-American family

that mean business in a real way.

So, why wouldn't he want to be a part of that?

But, here again, you're analogy, the JR in the building.

You know, we're trying to live up to the shows,

the Dallas, and the Falcon Crest,

and the Knots Landing, where [crosstalk 00:04:48]

you're going to have people that you love,

people that you don't like,

but it all collectively works together,

and that's why the family business is-

And it's weird for me, because my entire life,

"Oh, we love the drama, man. We love you. There's love."

[crosstalk 00:04:59].

I will never in my life had them hating me like this.

And at first I had a problem with it, because my mom be like,

"Why you have to play that character?"

And I'm like, "Well, everybody is."

And then Carl talked to me, he was like,

"Man, listen to me. Every show got that."

So, I'm embracing it, and I'm having fun with it.

What was it like working with Armand Assante?

Absolutely amazing.

He's done so many amazing, wonderful projects.

I loved him in Gotti.

And to work with somebody as brilliant as he is,

it makes you better.

And just to be on the set with him,

I mean he's an incredible actor, and I really enjoyed it.

Yeah, he was really intense when I worked with him as well.

And it was incredible. I personally enjoyed it

when he cracked you upside your head with that glass.

I know you did. I saw that. Yeah.

It was just joy in my soul. But anyway.

I had to bring that part up though.

It was one of my favorite parts.

Okay.

You have to eliminate Orlando.

No.

Oh.

I'll settle for the payload when I cut the hood of snake.

And for the last time,

I'll see who's the king of this, not over on

[crosstalk 00:06:00]. But that shit hurts.

You took it like a champ.

It really hurt though. It really did.

But, you know, you're very method that way.

You probably wanted him to crack you in your head.

That's what I did.

If they ever show you a blooper reel,

you'll see how much I wanted it,

and then after the crack, how much I didn't want it.

Yeah I know.

Now, we have a husband and wife, super team, Emilio Rivera

and let me make sure I get this right, Yadi Valerio Rivera.

Right on brother. Perfect.

Yes, I get a raise or something.

You got it perfect.

This is amazing. What's it like, first of all this is for me,

forget them at home for a second.

Love you all, I mean it.

What's it like playing husband and wife on TV

and being husband and wife in real life

because your character Alejandro is married to Consuela.

You know it's good because at home

we get to study with each other. Give each other notes.

So when we get to work, we're ready to work, you dig?

And I just try to make it easy for everybody.

But this is good,

get to play something that we're not at home.

When we're at home I'm more like kick back kind of law

abiding citizens and over here we're not.

So it's cool man.

Without stepping on each other's toes.

Giving each other the freedom to just go to work.

You do you. I do me. Just get our job done.

And just be happy for each other.

Be happy for each other, yeah.

That's amazing. Now, your character, Consuela,

I feel like she's suspects that there's a little more going on

as far as your son's death. Is that correct?

Her mother instinct, yes.

It's time that we take our revenge.

[Spanish].

What are you asking me to do?

Send a man to their death because of a rumor?

I am asking you to be the man that my son looked up to.

I am asking you to be the man that I married.

Alejandro Zuniga, a man that fears no one.

In episode four she was leaning on Alejandro's

back a little bit about his lack of activity.

Well, that's a mother. I'm going to be a mother cub.

Yeah, I'm definitely suspicious

and I'm going to defend my son's honor

and my baby. [crosstalk].

You think there's going to be

some colliding of families in the future, you believe?

Well, I don't know.

But the Duncan's better watch out.

All I can say is just that was my baby

and I am going to make sure

I find out what happened to my son.

Mama bear don't mess around man, you know.

Wow. And me I'm more the vicious man

where I got to keep this organization

running by keeping a level head. You just can't jump into stuff

because then you can just mess everything up.

Right.

But, you know you got to listen to the wife too.

She's pushing me a little bit.

Are there any similarities in the dynamic

of the TV husband and wife couple

and the real life husband and wife couple?

You know man-

Without getting yourself in trouble.

You know what? I learned late in life

that a happy wife, happy life and you know what, it works man.

It really does. Oh, yeah. I'm cool.

In our house he's the king

and he'll get treated like the king

as long as the queen is always happy.

And she's always happy.

You all heard that at home?

We are glad to have you both as part of our family

on The Family Business.

Thank you.

I'm here with Carlos Sotelo

and Franky G, you play Juan and you play Miguel.

Welcome. Glad you guys are here.

Thank you.

Thank you for having us.

The Miguel character was your first major role.

What does that feel like, man?

It was a huge blessing

In disguise but it was a blessing

and the opportunity came up and I took it.

I said yes and I ran with it.

Now this is a car.

You sure have good taste.

Why don't you get inside, feel how to leather hug you.

You're kidding me right?

Get in. I promise you've never experienced anything like it.

All right.

She looks good on you.

How would you like to own this baby?

You're not serious right?

Good. And I'm happy for you.

Congratulations, you did a darn good job.

Franky, you play Juan.

Now your character hasn't been established yet.

No.

They gone get to know you in episode five.

Oh yeah. Which comes on January 8th.

Right.

9, 8 Central, only on BET.

But Juan is in an interesting place.

Your character has ties to and loyalties to the Duncan family

and the Zunega family, correct?

Yes.

Tell me about it.

Well, it's tough.

Because I'm loyal to both of them.

But when it comes down to business, business is business.

And when you step into my business, to our business,

then you have to deal with it, and deal with me.

500,000. Wholesale, or retail?

That's the wholesale price.

Your retail is in the neighborhood of two million.

Think of this as a gift from the Duncans.

To an old friend.

What's the catch? I've known L.C. for many years.

He's an honest and fair businessman,

but I've never known him to give away anything else for free.

No catch. Juan, it's changing times.

Now I will say this.

A lot of you guys, they were sad to see the Miguel character go.

I will vouch for Tri Destined and BET,

you show you and do your job,

they'll find something else for you.

So don't sweat it. You died like a champion.

Whoever Paris ends up with after you,

I'm pretty sure he's gonna be hell of a guy.

I sure went out with a bang, didn't I?

Yes, yes you did go out with a bang.

Welcome back to Carl Weber's The Family Business.

Now we've interviewed and introduced

lots of amazing characters,

we got a lot of surprises for you guys.

Starting with Ms. Kj Smith and Mr. Jaylen Moore.

Now Kj plays Sasha and you play Manny, correct?

Correct.

Okay. Now we don't know a whole lot about Sasha yet,

but can you give us anything? Can you let us in on something?

I can give you ... [crosstalk] talk about Sasha.

I can give you a little bit.

Okay. Like this much.

Okay, just ... Just ...

I can't.

I am an international hitwoman.

All right.

I've been away training for several years,

just getting better and better at what I do.

I come into the picture and I shake things up a little bit.

Assignment completed.

We're gonna need a clean-up crew.

Good, nothing wrong with a little shaking.

Shaking's good. A little shimmy.

Shake and a ... yeah.

Oh she shakes all right.

A little razzle dazzle. Excuse me?

Oh wait a second.

Sasha shakes. I didn't say Kj shakes.

Oh, okay.

Sasha. Sasha.

Do you know something I don't? Or ...

Maybe.

Message.

Tell us about ... Tell us about Manny!

Blame it on Carl Weber. Blame it on Carl.

Tell us about Manny. Give us a little.

Manny, aka Manuel Zunega.

Manny is, well let's see. Sasha and Manny

went to school together. Some may call it "Spy school".

Assassin academy?

Others may call it like Quantico, I don't know.

It all depends on how you want to perceive it.

Right.

So she's a bit of a badass. Manny's not too bad himself.

Thank you, Manny.

And we have a big history together,

that things will unfold in the season.

Sounds like some heat.

Manny likes to do things his way. His way or the highway,

which Sasha loves, I think.

And it leads us through a whole adventure that unfolds,

with a lot of crossing of families, we should say.

Okay. Okay, that's telling a lot without telling too much.

Exactly, man.

You did good right there. You've done this before.

That was really good. Well done.

All right. That's it, thanks for joining us.

What? We can't give y'all all the secrets,

we've got to save some for the upcoming episodes.

Y'all being stingy.

Before we go, I want to thank Maurine, Connie and Scott.

And Marisa, Courtney and John.

And remember.

Tuesday nights, 9, 8 Central, watch Carl Weber's ...

The Family Business. Only on BET.

Did we get it? Yes!

These Top Stocks Let You "Have it Both Ways" -- Are They Beating the Market? - Duration: 11:15.

David Gardner: A year ago in that podcast, I picked five stocks, each of which I created a false choice.

Then, the punchline for every one of these five stocks is, actually, you don't have to choose,

because it does both. It has both.

Let's go through them right now and talk about, of course, their performance.

The date was 11/22/17. I have my cost basis, my opening prices for them.

I should note that we're taping this podcast a few days ahead of time.

We're taping this on Friday afternoon, December 14th near market close.

Those are the prices I'm using.

But you're going to be hearing this Wednesday, December 19th or later, depending on when

you tune in and listen to Rule Breaker Investing.

The prices will have changed a little bit. The market has been volatile.

Who knows whether they'll be higher or lower.

Of course, we're taping right now, so those are the numbers we're using.

So, from 11/22/17 to 12/14/18, how are we doing? Stock No. 1: Amazon.

I asked you a year ago on this podcast, which would you rather have?

Would you rather have the world's No. 1 e-commerce company, the company that's No. 1 globally

at e-commerce, or would you want to have the stock that is No. 1 at cloud services? The cloud?

Which choice of those two would you opt for in the stock that you're going to buy?

And the answer, of course, is both.

amazon.com does both of those and is many other things beside.

A year ago, the stock was at $1,156 a share.

Today, I'm very happy to say, to kick it off with stock No. 1, it's gone from $1,156 to $1,604.

That's a gain of 39%.

It's been an outstanding year for that stock that will let you eat cake.

Now, we're always comparing every one of these stock picks to the market.

That's the boogie man. That's the bogey that we're pursuing at all times.

We're always trying to beat Jack Bogle and his index fund. Here's a funny stat.

The market from that podcast a year ago through today? The S&P 500 index is flat. It's at 0%.

So, this is an easy number to calculate. Amazon's up 39%, the market 0%.

Therefore, we put ourselves with a plus 39 in the win column for stock No. 1.

Now, I have to tell you, that's one of the better picks among these five.

We've got some light and some darkness. It'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

That's stock No. 1.

Stock No. 2 is CBOE, the Chicago Board Options Exchange is what that acronym is for.

About this company, a year ago on the podcast, I asked you what you would rather have?

Would you rather have a low-risk, low-reward stock, or a high-risk, high-reward stock?

And of course, the answer is, you'd like to have a low-risk, high-reward stock.

You'd like to have both of the good things. In my experience, you really can have that.

A lot of people assume that everything correlates directly the reward of something with the

risk that you're taking for it.

A lot of people think it's either got to be high-risk, high-reward, mediums, or lows,

but you couldn't seemingly have low-risk stocks that can grant high rewards.

And yet, I believe that our portfolios here at The Motley Fool, for anybody who has owned

stocks for a long time with us, I think you have a lot of low-risk companies that have

earned you high rewards. I think the world misperceives risk.

A lot of us just think of risk as volatility, the beta of a stock, how it goes up and down.

But they really should be looking at the business and asking, how truly risky has Alphabet been?

It sounded like a really risky stock back in the days when it used to be Google.

People thought of Google as very risky because it was a new thing.

It IPO-ed, it bounced up and down.

But really, this was a company that was becoming the dominant, No. 1 player of global search.

That's an incredibly robust and very profitable business, much lower risk, I thought at the time,

and I'm happy to say the reward has been high for those who've owned Alphabet for years.

The risk is pretty low. I feel the same way about CBOE.

It's a totally different business. It's not as big an idea as Google or Amazon.

In the parlance we use, our risk ratings here at The Motley Fool, which is a feature in

our services, CBOE is a low-risk company. But I believe it has high reward. How's it done?

Well, a year ago, it was at $119. Today, it's at $101. The stock is down 15% over the last year.

The market is at zero, so that's a -15.

By the way, it's hard for me not just to look back a few months at these companies and see where they were.

Because at one point earlier this year, this list of five companies was rocking.

In fact, for each of these, I'm going to highlight briefly where it was earlier in the year.

We've already covered Amazon. Amazon today is about $1,600.

In September, the much-vaunted announcementcof the $1 trillion market cap crossing

for Amazon, the stock was at $2,050. It's gone from $2,050 down to $1,600. That's a drop of 20%.

For CBOE, in January of this year, i.e. it had a great move from Thanksgiving last year

when I picked it into the new year, it was at $139. Today, it's down to $101.

That stock is down 40%. It was really a great pick initially.

Anyway, let's go on to stock No. 3 now.

About stock No. 3, I'd like to ask you this, as I did a year ago: if you were buying a

stock that was a leader in online dating, would you rather have a stock that was a leader

for people who are a little bit older and more mature, people who have a higher net

worth and can spend more, more of a premium dating service, maybe second marriage kind of thing?

Maybe, like match.com?

Or, would you want a company like Tinder, which is a really hot dating app for younger people?

And here's the good news -- I think you know the punchline by now -- Match Group has both.

They own match.com, they own Tinder, and dozens of other sites for many different tastes and demographics.

Match Group is the world leader for online dating. A year ago, the stock was at $30.

Today as we tape, it's at $43. That's a really nice move of 43%. $30 to $43, rocking.

And of the five, this has been the best performer. I love this company.

I was mentioning it a year ago, of course, on this podcast.

But throughout the year of 2018, it's become increasingly clear to me that this is a great

long-term player that you want to be invested in.

While the near-term performance is great, I think what really matters is the longer-term performance,

not just looking backwards, but we've had it for several years, so, yeah,

that's good, but how about going forwards?

I should mention, even though the stock is at $43, up 43%, in September, it was at $61.

You're catching Match Group right now down from $61 to $43.

I'm not going to complain too much because the whole market's down, and all of these stocks are down, too.

But, wow, it would have been more than a double just a few months ago reviewing this five-stock sampler.

Anyway, let's do the math. Plus 43, we had a -15, plus 39.

Right now, if you're scoring along with me at home, we're at plus 67 through those three stocks.

Let's go to stock No. 4. Stock No. 4 is Nvidia.

About this company, I asked a year ago, let's think about a CEO.

Would you rather have a CEO who is an extremely brilliant engineer -- this is, after all,

a technology company -- would you rather have an outstanding engineer running your company,

or an extremely capable executive?

In Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of Nvidia, you indeed have both.

It turns out, both of those attributes can exist in the same person.

We don't need the trade-off mentality that so much of the world seems to have about people and things.

Nvidia has been a spectacular long-term winner on the American markets, and he had recently

been named CEO of the year as I picked this stock a year ago.

I'm happy to say, I really picked this stock almost 15 years ago.

It's a long-term holding in Motley Fool Stock Advisor.

But a year ago when I picked it, with this group of Five Stocks Letting You Eat Cake, it was at $215.

I regret to inform us all that it's dropped from $215 to $147. That's down 46%.

It's been cut in half from where it was a year ago.

And yet, it's amazing to me that in October -- that's right, just two months ago -- Nvidia,

a worldwide leader at what it does and a mega-cap, was at $293.

It's dropped from $293 to $147 in two months.

As this podcast attempts to deal as much as possible with reality, we're scoring it where it is today, down 46.

We have to subtract 46 from our 67. We're down to a plus 21.

Still ahead of the market, with one final stock to review.

Let me ask you about stock No. 5: would you prefer a business that's a bricks and mortar company,

or an online company? That classic battle, bricks and mortar vs. online.

We're not even talking about retail sales right now.

How about a company that lives within the educational world of big, bricks and mortar,

expensive universities, but also cheaper, seemingly less-adopted so far, online learning?

Well, with 2U, ticker TWOU, you have the leader in bringing people through online learning

to some of the best bricks and mortar universities, earning,

often, graduate degrees, sometimes undergraduate degrees.

2U is the leader at uniting those two worlds. We didn't have to trade off.

We can have a company, once again, that has both. A year ago, 2U was at $67 a share.

Today, I'm sorry to say that it has dropped from $67 to $55. That is a drop of 18%.

In a weirdly happy way, I'm here to let you know that looking over these five, we ended

up with a plus three number.

A tiny amount of incremental outperformance of the market. We kept it positive.

It was pretty dramatic for me as I went down the numbers.

I lost my breath briefly as I looked, "How has 2U done over the last year? Oh, it's down!

Oh, but not so much that we're negative with this sampler of five stocks!"

Now, of course, it's worth mentioning, this is only one year later.

We always pick stocks for at least three years on this podcast and at The Motley Fool.

But it's fun to note that over a really tough year -- by the way, talk about tough.

2U's stock in May was at $99. I just gave you the closing price at $55.

This is another company down more than 40%.

In fact, looking over all five of these companies, they are down respectively 20%, 40%, 30%,

50%, and over 40% from where they were just months ago.

And yet, I'm still happy to say, we're beating the market.

Investing in Solar Energy? Don't Bank on a Green New Deal - Duration: 3:25.

Nick Sciple: We have another regulatory question from our listener Brendan, who send us an

e-mail at industryfocus@fool.com.

He's asking about House Bill 7173, it's the Energy Innovation & Carbon Dividend Act.

What the bill is going to do is put a price on carbon and distribute it to American households.

Similar legislation has been passed in Canada and would give a carbon dividend as a result

of the fees they're charging there.

He asked, "Now that we're seeing that a price on carbon appears to be getting closer,

are there any investing takeaways or things to take note of in the energy space as a result

of this bill and things like it?

And, are there any impacts from it with regards to the Green New Deal that has been discussed

over the past year?"

What are your thoughts on this piece of legislation, Jason, and what impact it may have on energy,

particularly solar energy?

Jason Hall: If you look out a decade from now, maybe it's more likely that we see some

of these carbon tax, carbon incentives happen in the U.S. that you're starting to see in

Europe and recently in Canada. But, to be as blunt as possible, this this a non-starter.

It's not going to happen under the current White House administration.

It's not going to happen with a split Congress.

A lot of this is about political points as we move towards 2020 and the next presidential election.

Just to be pragmatic and look at this as what it is, it's political posturing to a certain extent.

Whether or not it's good legislation, I don't think we should even get into that on the show.

For investors, it's just noise in the background.

It's not really worth thinking about in terms of the near-term, in terms of investing in solar.

If you think about the typical supply-side, demand-side parts of the business, think about

the companies that have the best balance sheets to ride out those cyclical shifts.

And take a grain of salt with any projections about solar demand any one given year,

because there are other material regulatory things, as we saw with China and with the U.S. over 2018,

that can change things in the blink of an eye.

But I don't think this is legislation that's even going to get to a vote in the next two years.

Sciple: I agree with you, Jason.

If this becomes a big sticking point for 2020 and a candidate gets elected on the backing

of this kind of program, maybe it'll have a significant impact.

But in the near-term, we're not going to see anything concrete come out of this legislation.

Hall: If it were to get to a point where it was actually codified, obviously it would

be a tailwind for any carbon-reducing, carbon-neutral, solar, wind,

any of those power sources, it would be good.

But I think we're far politically away from it even being considered, I'm not even considering

it as part of any thesis I have for any renewable or carbon investment at this point.
