Affiliate Marketing For Beginners 71 - Clickbank : Alternate Sources of Traffic for PPC - Duration: 9:06.

you're probably already using google adwords yahoo UK USA and australia and

msn to buy traffic to your site but did you know there are many other sources

for paid traffic that can be really profitable in this lesson we're going to

take a look at alternative sources of traffic 3 of our favorites include the

Google content Network we're listing this as an alternative because most

people using Google content network don't do it the way that we're going to

show you number 2 Facebook Facebook provides the ability to have highly

targeted ads and YouTube now that it's been absorbed by Google this has become

a pretty big player the good news is that most of these sources aren't being

heavily exploited by merchants and affiliates yet so you can still get..

clicks for pretty cheap here's the lowdown on these great alternative

sources for paid traffic it doesn't cost any more to have your AdWords ad display

as a banner graphic rather than text and it means that your ad takes up a lot

more space than it would if it was just text often these can be a lot more

profitable than your standard text ads as well and at the very least it's good

free branding for your site even if it doesn't get clicked on of course Google

displays ads pretty randomly so you never really guaranteed a space in the

ad slot that's why it's a good idea to hedge your bets and create both text ads

and banner ads we recommend you separate your ads for content match and your ads

first search match in two separate campaigns this is really important for a

number of reasons the results you get for your search match campaigns are

going to differ from the results for your content match campaigns and it's

vital that you can see the difference you can't do this if they're all lumped

into the same campaign you can write different ads for the

different campaigns what works for content match may not work for search

match and vice versa it's important that you have the flexibility to target your

ads accordingly you might find that search match is profitable in a bunch of

countries but content match is only profitable in the United States or you

might find that your content match works well in a whole bunch of countries while

you search match campaign fails in all markets but the UK in either case you

need to be able to work out your profit margins for each campaign and then you

can tweak your countries accordingly imagine you're creating a pay-per-click

campaign for a dog training product take the time to categorize your keywords and

note the major trends you might have a bunch of keywords focusing on German

shepherds and you might have another bunch of keywords related to stop dog

biting once you've categorized your words you

can create different add text for each group so that the ads are actually

relevant to what people are searching for for instance you could write

discover step-by-step how to stop your dog biting right now or discover how to

stop your German Shepherds behavior problems for good instead of the very

generic get expert dog advice and stop your dog problems for good when your ads

are more closely related to the search term you get better click-through rates

and better conversions a little bit of extra if it equates to a whole lot more

profit one tool we highly recommend for categorizing your AdWords is traffic

Travis what about creating different sized banners if you're creating banners

for your Google content match ads be sure to make them in every size that

Google supports that way you've got a better chance of having your ad appear

on someone's site create effective banners this is at least as important as

having your ads show up make sure your banner ad is effective remember to

target your banners to your keywords so if your keywords are poodle training

then create a banner focusing on poodle training remember that while images draw

attention it's the text in your ad that sells make text a big focus of your ad

and if you're using multiple in your ad bears an animated gif for a

flash movie then make sure your viewers have the time to read the text we

recommend that you allow about four seconds per frame you don't need to take

a long time or a lot of effort when designing your ad your initial design

might take you a little while to come up with but you can usually just use this

as a template and switch a few words around here and there to target your ad

to different search terms again a little extra effort does go a long way it's

important to know which keywords are actually resulting in sales so you can

prune away the unprofitable words and amp up your efforts on your profitable

ones for this purpose we recommend you use conversion tracking or tracking IDs

to see where your sales are coming from Google gives you a really effective way

to do this with their conversion tracking tool it places a little cookie

and the users browser when they click on your AdWords link and if they make it

through to the merchants after purchase page which means they've made a purchase

it triggers a little alert that records a conversion you can then look at your

ads and keywords to see which ones are resulting in the most conversions the

downside of this is that you need the cooperation of the merchants site to

make it work you need them to insert your conversion tracking code into their

after purchase page so that it can trigger the cookie when the user makes

it through some merchants have no problem with this but others can be

reluctant if you encounter a reluctant merchants there is another method you

can use if you are promoting a Clickbank product Clickbank allows you to add

tracking IDs to your affiliate links which means that you can set up a

different tracking ID for each of your landing pages and different landing

pages for each of your ad groups you might not get the same detail you'd get

from the googled conversion tracking code but at least you'll have some idea

which landing pages are converting the best facebook facebook is now the second

most popular website in the United States and in the top 10 and many other

countries Facebook claims to have 250 million of its users log in each

day so how does this help you well you can advertise on Facebook and that's

just the beginning because people pour so many personal details into their

facebook profiles it gives you unprecedented ability to target your ads

towards the people who will be really interested in them you could narrow it

down to single woman in the New York area between the ages of 45 and 60 if

you so wanted to a great market for promoting online dating sites or

relationship secrets products the other advantage with Facebook advertising is

that you still have less competition compared to AdWords because fewer people

are doing it YouTube is another monster on the Alexa

charts already it's almost up there with Google and Yahoo it's also another arena

where there's much less competition so it's not too hard to get your video

ranking highly even if you just create a screen capture video or a series of

PowerPoint style slides to teach people something you can get some good traffic

to your site the trick is to add some subtle branding to the video that

directs viewers to your website the people who are the most successful in

YouTube tend to be the ones who create a series of videos and develop a following

of viewers so consider that as well the other benefit to YouTube is that you'll

find your videos showing up in Google search results and your video result

listing has a nice picture from the video next to it this makes it much more

appealing to click on double-click you can choose which types of sites you'd

like to advertise on for instance you might advertise your dog training

products on dog training websites cost-per-acquisition networks like Azuga

lucam once you know how well your campaign converts and what your profit

margin is you can use these networks to pay affiliates for generating particular

actions for instance if you know that every newsletter signup you receive on

your opt-in page earns you 50 cents you could use a CPA network to pay

affiliates 20 cents for generating newsletter opt-ins you still in 30 cents

and it takes no effort in time for today's lesson summary and

this lesson we've looked at some alternative sources of traffic which

include using banner ads on the Google content network targeting specifically

with Facebook using YouTube with subtle branding or to create a following of

viewers additionally we also suggested you take a look at double-click and CPA

networks anyway thanks for watching that's all I've got time for we'll see

you again soon bye for now

Seed Funding for Startups: How to raise venture capital as an entrepreneur - Duration: 11:12.

Raising money is hard.

It's so hard most companies fail at it.

In this video, we'll look into traction requirements,

pitch decks, some alternative funding sources

and how to find investors.

This is seed funding for startups.

(INTRO VIDEO)

I'm the CEO of a company called Slidebean,

and thousands of startups have used our platform

for creating their pitch decks.

Their success is our success,

and this is why we get involved with them

and have learned a thing or to about what works,

and what doesn't.

I started my first company in 2011,

and we failed at raising capital.

I know the pain of shutting down this website

you worked on countless hours,

or having to email all your customers

to say it's game over.

The problem with that company

is that we wasted so much time trying to find investors,

that we failed to find some fundamental flaws

in our product.

For Slidebean, we raised a seed round of $800,000

which has allowed us to grow to a team of 25,

increase our revenue to seven digits

and become profitable in the process.

And yeah, it was hard.

I'm telling you this because I want you to trust my advice.

I tried and failed,

and now I can look back and see why I got a 'NO'

from most of the 142 investors that we pitched.

Yeah, 142 to raise $800,000.

So now, let's talk about traction, first.

I have this problem with startup press

(Except for Jordan Crook, we absolutely love her).

It gives new founders a false notion of how fundraising works.

You read the story of Yo,

an app that just sent notifications saying 'Yo'

and how they raised a $1,000,000 seed round,

and you assume that's something

that anybody with a couple of lines of code can do.

Most companies raise money AFTER getting traction.

Very few companies raise money with just a prototype and no users,

and certainly, NO company

raises money without a fully formed founding team.

The most extreme case here is

tech companies that are trying to raise money

to hire their CTO.

This makes no sense in the mind of an investor.

Tech talent is expensive,

and it's scarce,

and the first proof that your company

is worth something

is that you, the founder/CEO

managed to find a full stack developer

that would turn down this job

at Google to work on this idea.

As a CEO, you need to be able to find and convince that guy,

who joins your for the stock and not for the salary;

when he could be making $150,000/yr otherwise.

The reality of startup fundraising today,

at least in Silicon Valley and New York,

is that companies are pitching investors with traction,

with excellent traction.

Traction usually comes in the form of revenue:

Tens of thousands of dollars per month,

growing over +20% month-over-month.

I'm not making this up,

check this article by VC Elizabeth Yin.

Pure play, no-revenue traction counts

only when you are dealing with millions of users

and fantastic retention rates.

So how can you get to these numbers

if you don't have any money to start with?

Yeah well, the answer is bootstrapping.

We bought our domain in 2013

and started working on our product,

but it was only after 18 months

that we managed to get any decent money to

ramp up growth.

It was $100,000 from the 500 Startups program,

but we'll talk about accelerators in a minute.

From May 2013 through October 2014 we bootstrapped.

We did part-time consulting so we could pay our bills.

We had a $1,000 salary each,

and we shared an apartment.

It was barely enough,

but the backgrounds of the three founders

made up for all the talent we needed at that point.

No need to hire anybody.

Our company burn rate was probably $3,500

including our 'salaries' and the services we needed.

It sucked;

but if you can live on a budget

and put up with your co-founders

while having no idea what's going to happen,

you've passed a very tough,

initial test for your company.

I've been through too many startup accelerators,

more than I like to accept.

It was a program called Startup Chile that allowed us to drop consulting and finally

dedicate 100% of our time to the product.

We love Startup Chile!

They provide +200 startups a year with a $35,000 government grant,

no equity in exchange.

All you need to do is move down to Chile for six months,

and get involved with the local startup community.

It's insane if you think about it, free money!

It might as well be all the capital you need

to launch your product and start generating revenue.

And we did it.

We actually moved to Santiago,

and this is where we launched our first beta

and signed up our first few thousand customers.

Thanks to the traction we got here

we eventually got accepted by 500 Startups,

which then provided $100,000 in funding,

plus it allowed us to move to Silicon Valley

for a few months.

High end, top tier accelerators like

500, YCombinator, TechStars, and DreamIt Ventures,

they provide you with so much more than just cash:

They give you an office space, they give you advice,

a community of brilliant people to bounce ideas with

and more importantly, validation.

The process to get in is hard and extremely selective,

but again, it's a fantastic validation

of the potential of your business.

Check out this link for more info on how to get into an accelerator.

We wrote a good article about it a few months ago.

There are hundreds of lesser-known accelerators,

and they certainly provide less value or lessfunding,

but for many of us,

they are the crash courses we need to get to a fundable point.

Once you feel ready to raise money, and hopefully

you have the traction you need,

you need to come up with a pitch deck.

DO NOT try to reinvent the wheel.

There is the standard pitch deck template structure most investors expect.

You can just download a template for this deck on the links below.

We've also prepared an in-depth video,

breaking down every single slide

and giving you insights

on how to complete each one of them.

Check that out.

The key points are that,

- Simple is better, again, don't get creative

and don't make it longer than 15 slides.

Consider this a hard rule

- Don't overcrowd your slides.

If it doesn't fit,

then it probably shouldn't go on the deck.

- Your pitch deck is an intro to your company

and more importantly,

the story of your company and your founders.

Don't get into advanced tech details

or wild revenue projections;

save those for the follow-up meetings.

- Most investors take about 4 minutes

to review a deck they got over email,

and if it's longer than that,

chances are they will skip it,

so no point adding that information anyway!

Another common mistake

is treating your pitch deck like a state secret.

No investor on the planet will sign an NDA

for the chance to see a pitch deck.

It's a rookie move that will probably

burn that connection for you.

These guys look at hundreds of decks a year,

and the liability of signing NDAs for each

one of them is just not worth it.

Don't get upset with this,

but most ideas are worthless without execution:

it's your ability to execute

that matters.

If anyone seeing your pitch deck

can go on and start a clone company of their own

and beat you to market,

then it might not be a great idea to begin with.

I heard at 500 Startups that you need to pitch

100 investors for every $500K you want to raise.

At least in our case, the math held up.

Getting in touch with 100 investors is no easy task,

but the point here is don't expect

that you'll get funded by the first, second, third

or tenth investor you speak to.

You need to get in front of many, many more.

The first thing to know

is which type of investor you are targeting.

My experience and my advice relates to VCs and Angel Investors,

which are normally interested

in tech, high growth, high scale companies.

These guys look for companies that can raise

$1MM or so as a seed round;

and use that to get them to a

$4-$5MM Series A stage in 18 to 24 months.

This means 3x annual growth and a huge market opportunity.

If you are building a more traditional business

that can't sustain that sort of growth,

you should aim for a different kind of investor.

So first of all,

leverage your LinkedIn network.

Make sure you add everyone you know and

tirelessly browse their connections.

If you find a match,

- Check that the investor is actively investing.

You can use AngelList for that.

- Ask for a warm intro.

This will almost guarantee a chance to share your pitch deck.

Many investors just don't reply to cold emails.

- Share your deck with a link

(don't send a PDF file and NEVER send a PPT),

that way you can track activity,

or remove access if they say no,

then they can't check it again.

Once you've depleted your LinkedIn contacts,

start attending startup events and befriending people.

Just talk to them, add each other up,

and expand your network.

If you play your cards right,

you can eventually request introduction from them.

This is another point where accelerators are really, really useful.

If you absolutely don't have a network,

then that 5% or 7% that the program asks

in exchange for their help,

becomes much more valuable now

because they will unlock those contacts for you.

We recently launched a (free) product called FounderHub

as a branch of Slidebean.

We connect founders with potentially interested

angels and accelerators.

We also have the contact information of

thousands of investors that you can browse,

filter and target, but remember,

cold emails should be your last resort.

You'll want to keep a spreadsheet

and keep a log of every conversation

and the status of your relationship;

trust me, by the fifth you talk to

your brain will start mixing people up.

You can go to FounderHub to download the template

of the spreadsheet I used when we raised funding.

A typical investor flow goes like this:

-You do an email intro.

- They ask for the Deck, and you send it over.

- If there's interest, maybe some follow up questions.

If that works, then you get a meeting

These meetings usually are 1 hour long.

And they consist of a quick 10-15 minute pitch.

Make sure that you stay on time.

(Using a variation of the pitch deck you've already created)

followed by a Q&A session and discussion.

At this point they will either destroy you,

tell you that you are too early,

or show obvious interest in investing.

If you are destroyed,

take it and go find the solution to the problems

and the questions they asked.

You are probably not getting another chance with them,

so cross that out on your spreadsheet

and don't waste your time.

If you are too early, fine, take it.

Ask them if they'd like to stay posted on your traction,

they'll normally say yes.

If most investors are saying that you're too early,

then, it's probably right,

so stop wasting time with meetings

and get back to your product traction.

If they agreed to stay posted,

make sure that you email them

every other month or so.

It's valuable to keep the contact alive and active,

and then maybe, they can invest later

or maybe, you can request an introduction from them.

Make sure to track those emails too.

Use Slidebean to send a traceable deck,

and know if they actually read your updates.

If you are still watching

and your investor says yes,

first of all, congratulations!

you are part of the lucky 1% of startups

that is actually able to raise seed capital.

When you have a lead investor,

finding others becomes a lot easier.

When an investor is interested, they'll probably ask about your terms.

Seed rounds in the US

are usually handled as convertible notes or SAFEs,

stay away from equity rounds if you can.

We can prepare another video explaining the differences between

SAFEs, convertible notes and equity rounds,

so pleae let us know in the comments

if that's something you'll like to see.

Gmail-Calendar Migration Tip of the Day #6 (SPAM) - Duration: 1:47.

Happy Tuesday! What a great day to welcome back all of our students in 2019.

Today's tip is super quick. Check your Gmail spam folder. You will find the

Gmail spam filters work better at filtering than our previous Outlook

configuration. So I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend checking your spam filter more

frequently over the next few weeks to make sure there are no desired emails

going to spam. If you find a wanted email within spam, just select it not spam and

next time it will just be delivered to your inbox. As time goes on you can check

your spam filters less frequently. However if you ever think you're missing

an email check your spam folder first. Here's how to check your spam folder. So

over here on the left you're gonna locate your spam filter. If

you don't see it here, you may have to scroll down and click more. So I recommend

scanning these and here's one that I have from CAASPP. That's pretty important

that I know about. So you can open it and you'll see exactly why it may be marked

spam and if you confirm that this is something indeed that you want in your

inbox, you can just click report not spam and it will now appear in your inbox. And

any future emails should no longer go to your spam filter but your inbox. So just

remember check your spam filters a little bit more frequently here at first

and if you ever miss a new email be sure to check that spam filter.

W10508327 - Replacing Your Maytag Fridge's Left Drawer Slide - AP5672095, PS7783615 - Duration: 10:08.

Hi my name is Bill and today I will be showing you how to replace the left

drawer slide in your refrigerator. The reason we might have to do this is

because it's damaged or because the drawer isn't sliding in properly.

For this repair, we'll be using a quarter-inch nut driver and a Phillips head screwdriver.

Warning: Before doing any repairs, please disconnect your power source.

So this is the refrigerator we're going to be using for this demonstration.

It's a Maytag, and keep in mind yours at home might be a little bit different

than what we have here but the same technique should still apply. So what we're

going to do is open both of our doors up.

And now I want to take drawers out, and those just slide straight out.

And now we're going to take this shelf out carefully. This shelf is just a glass

shelf, so we don't want to drop it or damage it in any way. Now we'll take out

the middle shelf support.

And now we'll go to the bottom, we can take a pantry

drawer out here. Again, that just slides straight out. And now we'll take out this

piece of glass right here, another shelf, and you just want to be careful again

not to damage it. And now what we're going to do is we're going to take these trim pieces

out. So those just slide right back, and we'll push down on them and they pop

right off. And same thing on this side, just pops out pushing it down a little

bit and pulling it back, and it snaps out. And now we're going to remove the two

screws holding this support down.

And with those screws out, we can just lift up and pull this out. And there's a

support behind that which you can also pull out as well. Now I can pick up this

shelf support and take it out. So right here is our left drawer slide. It's this

piece of metal right here with the roller, so we're going to need to take

this screw off here. We're using our quarter-inch nut driver again.

So now once that screws off, you can lift up and pull slightly out on the

drawer support and that'll release it from the support that's behind it, and

then just pull straight out and it'll come right off. Now in order to get the

slide off, we're just going to take our phillips head screwdriver and unscrew

the screws. And when that screw comes off, just keep in mind there's also a bracket

behind it so you don't want to lose that, so you can also put that in a safe spot

with the screw, and same thing with the second screw. Just grab that and unscrew

it, and then you can take the screw out and the slide will come right off. Now you

can grab your new OEM replacement drawer slide, and if you don't have one already

you can find it on our online store. So now we'll put the slide onto the pantry

support. And you're just going to line up the two little pieces that stick out and

then get your bracket, put that behind it,

and then you can screw it into place.

Now to put the support back into place, we're

just going to line up the round supports that stick out of the fridge wall here.

And so for the first one we're just going to slide straight back, and once that's in

place, it'll kind of click back there. So then you're just going to raise this up, set

it down, and then that should be in place. And so once that's in place, you can

screw that support back in and secure it.

Now we'll put the support back in and

slide it all the way back, it'll drop into the slots there, like so. So now I'll put this metal

guard in first and lift up the support here, and set the guard in just like that.

Now we can put this in, and we're going to make sure that this lever here goes into

a slot right there. And you'll see the gray slide that moves back and forth, so

when you put that into the slide, you're just going to want to make sure it lines up.

And then just make sure that these two tabs go into the slots there, test out

your slide, and once you make sure that all works, you can screw it down.

Now I'll put the glass shelf back in place and then I'll set it right on that support.

Now we can put the bottom shelf back in, and you just want to make sure

that the door glide goes up and into its space. And everything should open and

close nice and easy, just like that. And now to put this back in place, all we

have to do is line up that long slot there, take the long piece there, and this

slot right here with these two tabs is where this longer part goes. That sits in

there and the other part on the bottom should slide straight in, and it'll snap

into place. Now we'll put our shelf back into place, and you're going to want to make

sure that the rounded end that has the cutout back here goes towards the back.

And once you've got it in place, it should sit on both the supports on

either end. And now we can put our glass shelf back into place,

dangling it because the doors are wide. And once you've got it in there gently,

set it on the shelf, just like that. Now we're going to put our crisper drawers

back in, and what you're going to want to do is just make sure the wheels on

either side line up with the track there, so it slides in nice and easy.

Same thing on this side, just lining up those wheels with the track. And you'll see right

there it wasn't lined up so it didn't go in, try it again, and there we go.

Now we close the refrigerator doors and your repair is complete.
