Fatima Robinson and Adrian Wiltshire Brought All the 70s Soul Dancing Spirit | American Soul - Duration: 3:28.

Stand there while they're figuring themselves out,

and you count it: five, six, seven, eight.

Bobby Reed, when she texted me about this and she was like,

"I think this will be perfect. Can you dance?"

I'm like, "Girl, can I dance?

Like, have you seen me at a party?"

I went in, I meet Ms. Fatima, and she was just fabulous.

She definitely has that '70s soul

and she's just really challenging us to dig into that.

Those men and women back then,

they had a different kind of vibe going on.

They just let it go.

Obviously, her name rings bells and reigns on high.

She is amazing.

Her spirit is so calming and assuring at the same time.

Knowing that her and Adrian are behind the camera

just makes me feel that much better

about sharing my art like solo-wise with the world.

They're great. I love them.

Hi, I'm Fatima Robinson.

I'm Adrian Wiltshire.

And we are the choreographers for American Soul.

It made a big impact because, one, it was about black culture.

Two, we didn't have any shows

that brought out the exclusive dancers that you see today.

A lot of the dancers grew from being on that show.

You had to be one of the top performers

in all aspects of the show,

so it became something that people wanted to be a part of.

Even the singers at the time, they knew that was the show

to be on as a platform to grow higher.

Oh, and then have fun, like really dance like,

this is the line that made this train legendary.

We choreographed The Temptations.

We choreographed ...

The Chi-Lites.

We have performances from our actors as well,

which are amazing.

We're going to have Rufus Thomas doing the Funky Chicken.

The Honeycombs.

Gladys Knight and the Pips. Then we add our little flair

because we want it to feel modern

but also in the day and time where things are moving faster

than what it did back then.

We want to kind of cram in all of our best stuff

inside of that minute so that it's very entertaining.

Working with Fatima, she really pushed us to be performers

and get something different than what we were giving,

and it resulted in something amazing.

Both her and Adrian Wiltshire

did such a fantastic job of capturing the era,

but at the same time nothing feels dated.

I did not dance on Soul Train

except when I danced for artists,

so there's a clip of me dancing for Bobby on Soul Train.

I did the New School artists.

I came in when Soul Train hit the '90s.

Crazy to just know that the show was still running by then,

by the time I got out of high school

and got into the industry.

I always wanted to come down the line

but then the platform was set for me

to perform with the artists on the show.

I didn't go down the line then, but I will while we're here.

Carbon Emissions Back On The Rise In US As The Planet Burns Down - Duration: 3:33.

Well, bad news for those of us who like drinking clean water or breathing clean air or just

having an environment in general and that bad news is that in 2018 carbon emissions

here in the United States rose in the second largest gain that they have had in two decades.

In the last 20 years.

There's only been one other year when our emissions as a country rose to a greater level

than they did last year.

This comes at a time when we have scientists.

We have world leaders.

We have experts who are telling us we're roughly 12 years away from the most catastrophic climate

change events that we will no longer be able to mitigate.

We're not going to be able to reduce our emissions enough or clean up the atmosphere enough to

prevent these horrid effects from coming to our shores.

Twelve years and here we have a government run by Donald Trump and the Republicans who

are enacting policies that are causing our emissions to rise.

We are the second largest global emitter of carbon on this planet and we weren't going

down a hill.

We had a couple of years when they were higher than the previous year, but last year being

the second largest increase in 20 years, that tells us something.

It's because of the policies of this administration.

There rollback of all of these regulations.

You know, they tell us that, oh, we're rolling back regulations to free up businesses to

do better.

You know, they don't have to comply.

We're going to create jobs with this.

No jobs have been created from a single regulation that has been repealed.

Jobs have been lost because guess what?

When you have a regulation, you have to have regular tours and those regulators go out

and they inspect and they run tests and they do assessments.

Those people are out of work now, so we've lost jobs.

We're destroying our environment.

We're hastening climate change, all because we want to give a handout to these industries

who are causing the problem, but they're also funding some of the most powerful people in

Washington DC and that's why this happened.

Our emissions are increasing at a time when we have a decade to fix the problem.

If you don't see the issue with that, if you don't understand why this is important, then

we are doomed because this isn't just the United States.

This is the entire planet.

We have already seen the studies, the government studies, the independent studies.

Part of the reason we've got a lot of immigrants coming Central America right now is because

their areas are being adversely affected by climate change.

The instability in the Middle East.

Part of that is because of climate change.

Look at the Pentagon's own report on this.

They've been telling us that for 13 years and we've ignored it and we're doing worse

than ever now, and it's partly because of the horrid policies coming out of this Republican

controlled government.

✅ Stefano De Martino, intervista fiume sulle 'sue' donne: Belen, Gilda, Emma - Duration: 4:31.

Ho messo a posto qual cosina, tipo i denti"

hi I'm Citlali

Thanks so much for waiting

and understaning that I was sick

I'm still not 100% ok

But I really miss doing this

I promised a seinen and I brought them a classic one.

We are talking about Berserk

Spoilers of manga, anime and Berserk movies

I will omit some details but I will give a summary of the sagas

and that's hard

Berserk is a seinen and a dark fantasy

when we say fantasy we picture worlds like Tolkien's

The lord of the rings , the hobbit

those are fantasy worlds

when i say dark fantasy

I mean worlds like Game of thrones

it takes place in a fantastic world

But it doesn't have equally fantastic human beings

we human beings obviously have

defects and what a fantasy does

showcase the best of the human being

menawhile a dark fantasy showcases the worst of humanity

We follow the life of Guts his name translates to entrails

fun

he hunts demons called Apostles

with the hope that this demons will take him to the god hand

Now Guts is without a doubt the most tragic protagonist I've seen

Basically everything that could have gone wrong went wrong

Nut still Guts is one of the most interesting characters I've ever seen

specially because of that

Guts Doesn't give up

like a dark fantasy Berserk has very strong themes

war, violence, gore rape

violence, sex,

etc

first I want to talk to you about the Author

it's not something I do much

Kentaro Miura born in Chiba prefecture in 1966 is a genius

He started making manga at 10 or even before that

Published in his school, he reached 40 volumes

that's a lot!

titled Miuranger

In 1985 he published for the first time in shonen Jump with Noa

In 1997 berserk prototype was born

In 1988 Berserk was born

berserk is still being published to this day

this year there are gonna be chapters of berserk

In 2002 he received the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize

His style of illustration is completely monstrous

I don't mean just the monsters

sure they are complex and scary

they have all kinds of detail

what i mean is

the backrounds

the landscapes in the manga

the evolution from the start of berserk

up until now

it's completly different

it's surprising to see how much the artwork has improved

because that is art!

the award he got was for the cultural contributions of berserk

if you guys are fans of seinen

you know seinen heroes are mostly anti-heroes

Guts isn't an antihero

he is a protagonist that suffers

he is designed not to give up

designed to carry on

there are people waaay smarter than I

a lot more well versed in all this

that have made videos on this

i'll put some links down below

it really is a big change

That brings me to the Manga

Berserk is a manga published from 1988 until now.

It has 39 volumes so far,

taking into account that its publication is irregular.

I mean it's not out every week

The manga is divided into sagas starting with

The black swordsman who is Guts

this works as the introduction to the world

it's where you start setting the foundation

We follow Guts while he looks for information about the apostles

so they'll take him to the god hand

Who are responsible

for the day of the eclipse

Guts meets Puck (???)

the name varies deppending on translation

a faerie or elf deppending again in the translation

who saves his life in this part

puck saves guts

guts is as much a demon as the ones he is hunting

the reason why the show is called berderk

a berserk means

a frenziedly violent or destructive person

this could be a self destructive rage

that's what guts is

guts has nothing right now

when we enter the dark swordsman

is when guts has just lost everything

horrible things have happened and guts is hunting demons again

and he doesn't know what to do

Then comes the golden age

this tells us Guts' past

from the moment he is born

until he meets Griffith

Leader of a mercenary gang called the band of hawks

In this band Guts

who has always been a lonely mercenary

who has always been betrayed violated

or attacked by those closest to him

finds his best friends

people he cares about

people that are his equals

he meets the person he loves romanticly Casca

and someone who he admires deeply and conciders his equal in Griffith

This band transforms into the Guts family

the golden age ends

with the day of the eclipse

and massacre of the entire band of hawks

on that day all of the band was sacrificed by the god hand

the 2 survivors of this massacre are

guts who goes mad with rage

and casca

the romantic interest

but also a kick ass female character

casca was a strong woman

she was considered griffiths right hand before guts got there

she is strong smart and was powerful

not at all a damsel in distress

due to the events of the day of the eclipse

casca loses her mind abd herself

in this abrupt way we enter to Punishment

we return to the present

Where Guts continues his hunt for the apostles

and the God hand

they are directly responsible for

all that has happened in the day of the eclipse

the sole reason why guts lost all of his family

and closest friends

Guts Meets the Knights of the Holy Chain

that are equivalent to the Holy Inquisition and the Crusades

This is also when we return to see Casca and continue her story

casca is lost within herself and can't tell what is going on around her

her mins is that of a childs

besides puck who has followed guts since the beggining

Guts meets Isidro

a boy who sees in him a role model

obviously guts isn't one in any way

guts is only someone strong

somethins that isidro really admires

and looking at the world of berserk

you can see the apeal

and follows him from then on

We continue with the saga of the millennial hawk

weird right?

here we meet Farnese and Serpico

Who were the former Knights of the Holy Chain

due to some without a doubt horrible sircumstances

they join up

Guts who was alone

until he meets puck

has friends once again

And they decide to travel as a group to find Elfhelm

home of the elfs

it's complicated depending in the translations

it can be faeries or elfs

benign magical creature

elfhaim is

a proper fantasy world as we know it

Guts meets the wizard Flora

and her young apprentice that i can't pronunce

Schierke?????

and receives the Berserk armor from them

it's counter productive at best

it's a double-edged sword

the armor allows guts' inner demons to take form

everything that takes him to savagery

his rage all suround his body and make him stronger

and of course he is inmensly stronger

but he can't control himself

and enters a frensy

and destroys everything around him

menawhile Femto

one of the "fingers" of the God hand

makes a new band of hawks

obviously guts isn't happy with this

all this time guts has been looking for them

specially femto

so he can have his revenge

femto is directly responsible for what happened

to the first band of hawks

in that moment

this turns into a turning point

where guts makes a choice

if he is gonna follow femto

and get his revenge or

go to elfheim and help casca

casca has the opportunity to heal in elfheim

but guts wants to destroy femto

we have

this momento of choice

and that is what changes guts

if you see guts walking down the street

you walk another way you crooss the street

you get away as soon as you can

he has an impousing figure

but we havve moments in teh story

where miura the author

gives us a quiet moment

so we can see guts

that air of contemplation

and sadness over all

there are times where you can see

what his intentions are

but really the anger that he has in him

takes the shape of a demon

when he puts on the berserk armor

there are this silent moments

and you can tell that guts is

completely destroyed

and that's because of his ambitions

he has no one to blame

but he does have his revenge

if he didnt't have that he would be dead by now

and then we have casca

she just broke down

her mind is broken

casca hasn't been able to face what has happened

it's a solid difference

guts has always had the strength of his anger

and that's enough for him to face what happened

and to hunt and destroy demons

casca on the other hand has a type of regresion

and even ifher childhood wasn't great

she acts like a child

she is completly innocent

but still very sensitive

to everything that has to do with demons

casca is afraid of

facing and going back to the day of the eclipse

We arrive at fantasia

elfheim is a proper fantasy world

a world of elfs,

a world where magic is good

a world that isn't contaminated

by people like guts

Guts group arrives in Elfheim

They begin the process to cure Casca

And Femto creates a damn kingdom

along side the new band of hawks

one of the last chapters we saw

we see casca reborn

and what will happen when she sees guts again?

that is still unknown

there is a change in characters

miura's characters aren't supperficial

i mean they have growth

and change

i suggest reading the manga or watching the movies

the anime

let's talk about the anime

The first anime came out in 1997 and has 25 episodes,

It was supervised by the creator of the manga

Because of the nature of manga, the anime was censored

The anime ends where the first episode begins,

After the conclusion of the day of the eclipse

An anime attempt came out in 2016

Animation is hard to enjoy

there are parts that are really raw

it's hard to follow the story

because there are parts of it that are just

riddiculus and hard to take

but the story is solid

let's talk about the films

There are three films

all under the title berserk the golden age

came out in 2012 and 2013 are

The egg of the conquering king

The battle of doldrey

And the advent

They are really good and detailed good

the animation is solid

if you wanna start watching start with the films

if you wanna see what happens next then

go for the manga

Berserk is difficult to summarize without going into everything that is gore and details

specially the characters

have in mind that the art of berserk is gorgeous

and the characters of berserk are made very realistic

griffiths ambition

the naturallity and sweetness of casca

the tranquility and violence of guts

they are oppisite

but they exist as the same person and thats okay

the dicotomy of a character

guts as a main character is great

you have time

you can calmly watch the movies

and reading the manga

in 2018 we had about

4 chapters of berserk

it is a heavy reading its not a very optimistic read

it's interesting and hard to put down

i have no doubt that berserk will not end like i want it to end

that's it for this week thanks for watching

the next videos

i've shot them with help

tom's right there

he's out

i'll put a picture of him later

because talking about bersek can be depressing

speaking of depression

i love both berserk and a series of unfortunate events

this year is the last season of asoue

on netflix, so i'll make a video about it

thanks for watching

i hope you wanna watch berserk now

give it a like subscribe

thats it

Visit London: Top Things To Do (One Day Itinerary London) - Duration: 5:26.

Visiting London, only have one day in London and want to see a lot, then a great one-day

itinerary would be the Lower Queens walk and some of the top attractions in

London. All that information coming up in this episode.

Welcome to Budget Smart Travel Tips. We're your hosts. I'm Stephanie Masoner and I'm Randy Masoner We are here

to be your personal travel guides so you can have the best experience. I was born

and raised here in London and we love running around the capital being

tourist. So, we are going to share with you what we like to do around London. We

put together this day plan with everything in close proximity to each

other, to help maximize your time. We have a free pdf takeaway to download

that has more information, maps, directions and the listed itinerary

from this episode in the link below, so you don't have to take notes. Also, please

subscribe to our channel, and use that bell icon to get notifications, so you

don't miss out on any budget smart travel tips.

With so many options, a great One-day Itinerary to get the most out of your day in London will be centered,

around the Lower Queen's Walk. We recommend starting your sightseeing with

Shakespeare's Globe Theatre Tour, a "must see" when visiting London. A replica

of the original Elizabethan playhouse built in 1599 with tours starting at 9:30.

The theatre serves breakfast at the Swan Restaurant. So, if you want to have breakfast here, you'll be

right there when the tours begin.

After the Globe Theatre and just a short walk away is Sir Francis Drake's 16th century Golden Hinde sailing ship.

Explore this hidden gem of history which is a quick self guided tour and you won't believe the story it has to tell.

On our list of things to do, are the views from the Shard in the tallest

building in the UK. Get a bird's eye view of London from the open-air sky deck

on the 72nd floor. You can choose to do this in the day or view the city lights by night.

Next, just stroll and enjoy sights

of the Queen's Walk promenade down to Tower Bridge. Then we recommend

partaking in the English tradition of Afternoon Tea at the Tower Hotel. With

this you do need to make reservations. To mind your budget, follow the link below and

look for Tower Hotel to get up to 50% off.

After a relaxing break you have a couple of options. So, option A and the other must see of the city is the

Tower of London. Housing the priceless Crown Jewels, it is the Queen of England's

official palace. Besides that, who doesn't want to see where Anne Bolyne lost her head to King Henry VIII.

The other half of option A is to take the tour inside

Tower Bridge, one of the most Iconic symbols of London and the most

recognized bridge in the world.

After sightseeing and right next door you can plan your evening to include English dinner at one of the local pub. Our most

favorite pub, in all of London, is Wetherspoon's Liberty Bounds or

there is the Dickens Inn pub located in St Katherine Dock Marina.

The 2nd option or option B is bypassing the Towers after your Afternoon Tea, and

taking the tour through the HMS Belfast, a 1938 battleship that was part of the

British naval blockade against Nazi Germany.

Next visit The London Bridge Experience and London Tombs

which is crowned the scariest attraction in the UK, if you want to get you scare on.

Ending your day here in the middle of the Queen's Walk, a couple of ideas

for dinner are the Anchor Bankside, a Shakespearean era pub built in 1615 or

there are some very chic restaurants and bars located right next door in the Shard.

If you only have a brief time to explore London, all this will definitely

fill your day with a whole lot of fun. Again, you can find more details about

everything in our free pdf takeaway and we have other videos with more details on

each individual attraction. Also, just to point out that admission prices to all

of these attractions are all offered on the London Pass, which is a complete

sightseeing package all in one ticket and for one low price. It can also include unlimited

public transportation around London. Too purchase your London Pass and

take advantage of this great money saving option, you can find that

in our link below. We also have a video and link for our other City Tour Passes.

There is one more option though, if you like art, there is the Tate Modern art

gallery, located next to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and that is free to get into.

We hope we gave you some good options to plan your day

and we hope you found this episode helpful. You can combine this itinerary

with our other one-day plans to fill up and maximize your time in London. So check out our

other videos and we do have new videos every Wednesday. If you haven't already

subscribed, please hit that button now and don't forget to download your free pdf
