If you are looking for a nice, safe, calm FNaF fangame...
...the search continues, let's keep looking!
My Porkchop streams had its ups and downs and I've attempted to start them a few times, as in the first versions the jumping mechanic depended on my computer, my ram, etc.
so I could either focus on walking around the location or play the game without recording.
Similar problems were a thing in FFPS, but not on such a scale, you were able to play the minigames.
Before we get into Porkchop's Adventure, I've wanted to mention the ARG that I've mentioned last time.
We managed to solve it fairly quickly after the episode, basically the day after,
Reddit user /u/Mysaltisexposed suggested that our passwords don't necessarily refer to the Youtube as I was looking for, but maybe to something else, maybe it's an Imgur link.
And it turned out that it really was Imgur - we've got two photos, the first one suggested the "gameman" password
which… is cool, if not for the fact that we have already got them. The order in which we solved puzzles in this ARG is tragic.
The second picture, the one from the binary code, leads us to a cute, short story.
We could hear this story in the game, it is a part of the story in the Battery Ending, but the game version is shorter, without the beginning.
In short, it's a fairy tale for children, a story about a fairy who comes to people who sleep and whispers nice words to them, which makes them dream about nice things.
When you dream nice things, a jam is flowing through your ears, and the fairy is feeding on it. A small, funny story for children.
The problem is that something didn't work out. The fairy told the boy about the wonderful adventures of sweet animals. And everything was well, the child started to smile, the jam started to flow, but something happened later,
the kid became sad, and in the end, he looked completely terrified, he began to cry and moan, and nothing the fairy said could help.
So she used her fairy magic and created some powder that surrounded the child and helped him calm down and... she run away.
The kid has calmed down, but he still looked unhappy. The story ends with the information that the kid never dreamed anymore. It was the final Porkchop teaser.
The game itself is very nice in my opinion. We have three locations with opponents, and one hub-world, the place where the Porkchop house and all the stores are located.
The game is pretty cool, the platformer is fun to play, of course when you are able to jump normally.
Each level has its own specific trick, a gimmick that we learn throughout the level just to use it on the boss.
In the first level, we have to hit bombs with our belly and destroy the walls - we also have to throw bombs at the boss.
In the second one, we focus on pressing the buttons and this allows us to progress, enter new areas, and the boss relies on pressing buttons to create barriers that harm him.
In the third level, we have an ability to recolour ourselves into two different colours and that allows us to defeat enemies in the same colour, as well as pass through coloured blockades.
Similarly with the boss, if we are to attack him or defend ourselves, we must have the same colour as him. And remember that you have to hit him in the face - it's the only way to hurt him.
I personally liked the platformer part, but it is not the full game. Another part is "free-roam".
Typical 2D Clickteam free-roam, you go from point A to point B and you can look around this point and press on all objects around.
After the tutorial, a blackout happens so we have to fix the burnt fuse and later when Porkchop will knock on us, we have to turn off the game and look through the vision... and repair the burnt fuse yet again.
We have to repair it twice, and then we can walk around the location with no problems.
It took me way too long to figure out how to get to the door. You have to turn off the game first, and then you will be able to walk around. Clicking on the doors when turning back is not working.
When I was younger, I played a lot of games in this type, they were usually called "Escape the Room" games.
You have to go through every room, click everything, match items with each other, use objects in hand on other objects that are in different rooms and go forward by doing that, open boxes, solve puzzles etc.
to finally find the key to the doors and leave. Sometimes, there was another room you had to leave after the first one. I have quite good memories of it. I've played something similar lately.
Porkchop has some interesting puzzles. We have an ending which is called by fans as "Battery Ending".
We need to get a VFX Room card, open this room, and find three batteries that we can put into the device.
These batteries are hidden in an interesting way, one is easy, but the other four are almost inaccessible to the new players and they must find clues in the platformer for them.
Interestingly, we need only three batteries, and we can find as many as five of them.
We don't have to get all of them and from what we know at the moment, there is no other use for the other two.
We have four endings. At first - Neglect Ending that happens on 12AM, a basic ending when we won't achieve anything by the time ends.
Then - Happy Ending when we beat the platformer.
Thirdly, this so-called Battery Ending I've mentioned.
At last, there's the fourth ending, the "Steven Ending". For Neglect Ending, we unlock the first minigame, for Happy Ending the second, and beating them both in a special way gives us two smiling faces.
We get the third by clicking on the well on the farm multiple times, text slows down each time we click on the well, and finally - we gets the smiley.
Thanks to that, we have three smileys in the third minigame, which is unlocked by typing 2541 into the break room safe, the message that appeared in the ARG.
Getting all the smileys on time and delivering them to the right place gives us the prize - the "Wonderland" key. Knowing Steven, the key is the word itself and we will need it to decode any further messages.
That's also an interesting topic: the password 2541 appears in the game, supposedly even twice, but it's hard to find them and the third minigame is mainly directed to people who already knew about Steven before from the ARG.
If you weren't interested in it or if nobody told you this before, well, you may not even notice lack of the third minigame, this ending with Steven is extremely optional.
That's about it with the game content. I can say that I enjoyed it, the puzzles were great and the game fits well as a FNaF fangame, it is perfect for fans of puzzles and riddles.
To make it better, it's not over yet and Porkchop's Adventure, just like POPGOES Arcades - the base idea for Phisnom's game, is just a teaser of the bigger game - Porkchop's Horror Show, which Phisnom is working on already.
The name alone explains quite a lot of things. This is a location where horror movies are being made, it's based on a real restaurant, a scenario similar to FNaF3 and Fazbear's Fright.
It explains the monstrous drawings and why the protagonist who is a writer in the film is afraid to sit here. There are various strange things going on here.
With this information in mind, I believe that the story with the fairy and the story of Happy Ending about the bird eaten by a cat - these are stories used in the show, some super creepy stories for the beginning or the end of the show.
It is possible that they still have a hidden meaning, they may refer to real events, or maybe animatronics' behaviour will be affected by these stories, but in my opinion, the main vision is just that these are stories for the show.
They are quite interesting because they both refer to "happy animals", so both can have some connection with the whole Joe's restaurant.
In one, a fairy tells the boy about happy animals playing with each other, and in the other - the bird sang, with an intention to interest happy animals standing in the distance.
Looking at the context of this game, it looks like this Porkchop animatronic is watching us and somehow makes sure that we won't find out too much or something like that,
at the same time scaring us for fun, knocking on the door, peeking through the entrance, watching us in the corridor. He could kill us a thousand times, but he does it only when we turn on the device.
The second possibility, a bit more fitting to info from the paper in the VFX Room, is that he wants to kill us all the time but he is only able to do that when we turn on this device.
Looking at the messages from Steven, a lot of hints that this big piglet is the "Pale Face" he was talking about.
So far, it's only a teaser game and it just reveals the basic idea of the main game - Porkchop's Horror Show.
That's why we have a lot of unfinished or undeveloped plot points, a lot left to interpretation, as this is just an introduction, a prequel to this main, real game.
Steven's minigame shows us a much larger map than the one in the game, we can see the lower floors, a room with a stage and other.
Porkchop's Horror Show is also advertised with this picture here, where the "star doors" are opened in the background, and that's where the second piglet is locked so we can imagine it's going to be rather interesting.
I imagine that the main game may focus much more on this point'n'click gameplay, walking around the location while the enemies around will actually try to kill us,
not like in Porkchop's Adventure, where we have to ask Porky to kill us in a special ending.
This element has disappointed people a bit, the game is much more interesting until you realize that there is nothing to be afraid of,
you can go wherever you want, do whatever you want, ignore everything because no one can kill you, you are completely safe.
The game has a great atmosphere but the biggest threat here are the opponents in the platformer game, and not knocking on the doors behind you.
Which does not change the fact that the game is very well made, it was just advertised as something where you have to defend against the opponents.
And that's all for now, I'm sure I'll make more episodes from Porky, but probably only when the teasers for the main game will appear.
The teaser game is great and the main game promises to be something even better.
Thank you all for watching and remember to check Porkchop's Adventure, the link is in the description, the game is free, as every fangame has to be, and it's worth a try.
Also, don't forget to leave your own thoughts about Porkchop in the comments, if you find something in the game, or you have your own opinion on Porkchop's Horror Show, feel free to comment.
Thanks, and I will see you in the next episodes!
