Youtube daily Nov 2 2018

Each year American citizens spend billions of dollars combined to try to make their lawns

look a little better.

It's estimated that each American citizen on average is spending a little over $90 per

year on lawn maintenance, lawn care products.

Unfortunately, a lot of those lawn care products that we're buying at our local hardware store

each week they may be completely useless, or at least that's what a new class action

lawsuit claims.

Joining me now to talk about this is Scott Hardy from topclassactions.com.

Scott, we've got a big issue right now with actually Scotts Turf Builder.

If you've ever watched any kind of sports game I'm sure you've seen a commercial for

Scotts Turf Builder.

It's kind of their target audience right there.

They tell us that this product works, 50% less water.

Basically, you can put it in your lawn, put it in a dead spot, a spot where you're having

trouble growing things; you can barely pay attention to it and it's gonna fill in your

lawn.

But, tests are showing us that that's not happening at all is it?

No, not at all.

In fact, I actually bought this product, saw it at a local hardware store.

I had a little brown patch in my lawn and I said, "Man, this is ideal.

It's got the fertilizer, it's got the mulch, it's got the seed.

It looks like I just got to pour it on this brown spot, water it, and we should be in

good shape, and boom I've got awesome grass again."

I can tell you from experience it didn't work for me, and as you mentioned from these scientific

studies that have now been utilized to test before they filed this class action, they

found out when you said, "Oh, well I can just put this seed down there and it actually only

takes half as much water to make it work."

Well, if you use half as much water you're guaranteed it won't work at all, and so these

claims are completely unfounded, but they're making people like me, and a whole lot of

other people around the country spend money on it thinking that it's gonna be some magic

cure all for our lawn.

Right.

See, that's the issue here is that these companies like Scotts, from Miracle Grow, that puts

this out there, basically it's false advertising.

It's deceiving the consumer, the person buying this product, saying "You can put this down

and if you use it as directed it's going to do this," but the studies have been conducted

saying that if you use it as directed you're basically buying garbage that's going to do

nothing for you.

That's where the problem comes in.

It's not that, "Oh, I bought this turf builder and my grass still isn't growing."

No, it's, "I bought the Turf Builder, I followed your instructions to the T, and I got nothing

out of it."

That's where we're always gonna run into issues when these companies are out there telling

us to do a certain thing knowing that that's not going to work, and probably what it does

most of the time is it encourages people, "Well, maybe I didn't have enough out there.

Maybe I need to go buy a second bag of this stuff.

Maybe I need to go buy more fertilizer."

It results in more spending on behalf of the consumer here.

Exactly.

You know, I bought this stuff ... When you see these false advertising class actions

filed all the time for these misleading claims that are put out there, and I followed the

instructions to a T. I got out there with the rake and I was sitting there raking out

this brown spot in my lawn, made sure it was watered, put out the seed, the mulch, everything

was in there, put in there perfectly, watered it again.

I actually watered it extra, because I thought, "Oh, the half water thing, no way, that's

probably not gonna work," and it still didn't work.

We want to make sure that these class actions that are being filed against these companies

that are making these misleading claims that we're holding them accountable.

There was a similar class action settlement for similar claims regarding the seeds that

actually netted people up to $70 or $90 back per claim.

We're hoping we're gonna see some good returns back for people that were impacted by this

specific class action settlement to get them some of that money back when they're buying

a product like I did that just didn't work, even though we used it as we were told to

on the actual package.

I know there's probably some people out there who may think, "Well, this is a frivolous

lawsuit.

Yeah, you bought some grass seeds and they didn't germinate."

But, no, the problem is that companies continuously think they can get away with making these

lofty promises, with telling us a product's going to do X, Y, or Z and then it won't deliver,

but they knew it wouldn't deliver.

They had their test telling us it wasn't gonna do the right thing, it wasn't gonna give us

what we expected no matter what we did, if we followed their instructions or if we went

the extra mile, nothing we did would make this product work.

That's what these class actions are about.

It's not just about getting people back the money and the compensation for the time that

they lost, it's about holding corporations accountable and, hopefully, preventing this

kind of behavior in the future, isn't it?

Exactly.

We want to make sure that companies are held accountable for making claims that simply

aren't true.

So, if I buy your product and you're promising me that this product does something, I want

it to actually do it.

If it doesn't then these class actions are filed to make these companies change the way

they are marketing these products.

This is going to change.

Any settlement we see from this product will not only put some money back in consumer's

pockets but it will also make Scotts Miracle Grow change how they're marketing their product

and change how they're selling it so that way we aren't duped into buying a product

that just doesn't work.

Right.

We could have spent our time, and our money, on something different, maybe something better,

but either way spent it on something that wasn't going to just cost us time and money,

maybe something next time that would actually work.

Scott Hardy, thank you for telling us this story.

We've got more information available on it on Top Class Actions, a link to which is in

the description of this video.

Thanks for talking to us today, Scott.

Thank you, Farron.

I appreciate it.

Harvest Pizza ~ Perfect Fall Flavor ~ Noreen's Kitchen - Duration: 6:07.

Hi everyone, welcome back to the kitchen today

We're gonna use some of that pumpkin pizza sauce and we're gonna make this amazing skillet harvest pizza

I think you're just gonna fall in love with this. There are so many rich fall flavors in here

I can't wait to share with you how this all comes together

Today we're gonna be making a harvest style pizza and we're gonna be using our pumpkin pizza sauce that we made in a previous

Video you guys this stuff is amazing and we ate it on top of some spaghetti squash with some mozzarella cheese

Melted on top for lunch the other day

when we made the sauce and it was just incredible super delicious and flavorful and we thought we are gonna make a really

Amazing harvest style pizza, that's perfect for fall and we're gonna use this pumpkin pizza sauce as our base

I have some chicken tenders that I pan seared and cut up. I have some sauteed mushrooms that I just did today

Some roasted red pepper strips that I did from scratch and I made a video on how you can do that

I'll leave a link down below. I did some caramelized onions

I also have a video on how I do this. I did some bacon in the oven

Again, I also have a video on how I do that and on my pizza dough

I have one pound of my pizza dough right here

And we're going to cheese this up with a little Italian blend and some ricotta

So what I'm gonna do now is I have we're gonna make this as a skillet pizza

So I have my skillet heating on the stove

And we're going to roll out the dough and bring over the skillet and get everything put together

Alright, I made I went ahead and I rolled out my dough

I patted my dough out by hand to fit inside my skillet

Which I had heating up on the stove and I had just over medium-high heat and I after the skillet was

Ready to go and hot enough. I went ahead. I just

Brushed the bottom of the skillet with a little olive oil now, I'm gonna add some of our pumpkin pizza sauce

You don't want it to be too wet remember that and then we're gonna go ahead and hit this

With a little bit of cheese just to set our base

You can use whatever kind of cheese you like cheddar might be really good here. I think smoked gouda would be incredible here

I have some of these

Chicken tenders that I cooked up. I just pan-seared those

Some mushrooms that I sautee just with a little garlic and butter some caramelized onions some red pepper strips

And these are just in some olive oil the secret to a good pizza is not to put too much of any one thing

And I'm just gonna top this off with a little sprinkle

bacon

Then we'll hit this again

with a light sprinkle of Italian blend cheese

This is mozzarella

Asiago pecorino and provolone have you guys ever put ricotta cheese on a pizza?

It adds just a little bit of creaminess and it's so lovely

Give it a try. Oh this smells so good already. All right. I've been preheating my oven at 450 degrees

I'm going to pop this in on top of my pizza stone and

Then we're gonna bake this for about 12 to 15 minutes and then we'll be back and we'll show you what it looks like

Our pizza is ready. It's been sitting out for about five minutes just to cool a pan cuz my oven smoking hot now

We're just gonna take this pizza

Out of the pan put it on

The board I wanted to cut it for you. I just want you to hear it's nice and crispy

I did I sprinkled it with a little bit of dried rosemary and I drizzled it with a little bit of olive oil just to

Make it look pretty so we're gonna go ahead and cut this up

You can hear it how beautiful and

Crunchy it is on the bottom. And that is the benefit you get from doing it in a skillet like that. Oh

So incredible there you have it all sliced up and ready to go and I can't wait to taste this now

I do recommend that you let this cool down long enough that you're not gonna burn your mouth

right

You want to taste it?

you have to

Here we go. Oh

Wow

You guys oh man that's incredible

You can leave off or add any ingredients that you so choose but I'm telling you what this combination is

Killer and perfect for the autumn

GIVEAWAY: DONE BOOK! Stone Heart is Complete [CC] - Duration: 4:45.

Hello Rebel, and welcome back to my life.

We're vlogging from the bed, which means we must have finished another book of Underrealm.

And indeed, the novel Stone Heart, A Book of Underrealm, is done, and is releasing in

one week.

Yaaay!

In all honesty, this book has left me far more exhausted than Blood Lust did two months

ago.

Quick point about that, you might very well be thinking, "But Garrett, we had one of these

videos two months ago, wow, that book really came together fast."

But did it?

The answer is honestly that no, Stone Heart did not come together super fast.

I had already been working on it pretty extensively before Blood Lust released, so the actual

time that I've been working on it has been more extensive than it would appear.

And also, for Stone Heart, I knew so much about the story.

I knew how it was going to play out, I knew what the ending was gonna be, I knew what

the major twist was.

This story was very, very solid in my mind before I started working on it.

Unlike Blood Lust, which was so all over the place that it, you know, took a year.

Which is not to say that Stone Heart did not go through its own trials and tribulations.

It's maybe the book of Underrealm that, so far, has dealt the most with its queer main

character's queerness.

In case you haven't read Blood Lust—and if you haven't, then why wouldn't you?—the

story is about Mag, but it is narrated by Albern, who is really the focus of this second

book in the story.

It's more of an Albern story than a Mag story.

And Albern is a trans man, and as with all of the books of Underrealm, his trans-ness

is not the focus of his story, but it does play a much larger role in this narrative

than it did previously.

And so I solicited quite a lot of help and advice from readers in our community.

Particular thanks must go to Oliver, who is a member of the Discord server and just the

general Underrealm online spaces.

He has been so incredibly, incredibly helpful in the crafting of this book.

Okay, so do you know what the sophomore curse is?

I've talked about it a little bit on the channel, but let's have a quick refresher.

Generally the first work in a series, or, you know, the first work of an artist, or

let's say a band or something, is considered superior to the second work.

Partially because the first one usually takes so much longer and it has so much more of

the artist's raw passion in it, and some people see that as making it, like, have a greater

integrity or whatever.

I don't think that's necessarily true, although I do think there's something to be said for

the fact that if you work on something for a long period of time, you just tend to have

more experiences to put into it.

And so the second one can fall flat.

But there are, of course, exceptions to the rule.

Most people acknowledge that the Empire Strikes Back, for example, is a vastly superior film

to Star Wars: A New Hope.

And if you go with the theory of, like, the longer you work on something, the better it's

going to be, it should be the opposite.

Lucas was working on A New Hope for much longer than he worked on The Empire Strikes Back,

which was of course mostly produced because the studio was like, "Oh, people really seem

to like that Star Wars thing!

Let's have another one!"

Anyway, I get nervous saying this, and ultimately it's up to you, the reader, to decide, but

I really think we broke the sophomore curse with Stone Heart.

I think that it's better than Blood Lust.

And I really liked Blood Lust, so yeah.

I think that means something.

It is available for sale on all major ebook platforms, as well as in print.

You can order print copies through the link in the description.

You can also order ebook copies through the link in the description.

But I really hope you'll consider buying print books directly from me.

As always, that is a huge help in my author career.

But I do have to give you a warning.

This book did go a little bit longer than anticipated, and we're having some issues

with our printer, so if you do buy a print book, it is going to be ever so slightly delayed.

Sorry about that.

We'll try not to have that happen again in the future.

And speaking of which, I'm gonna give myself a little bit longer to work on the third book

in the series, Hell Skin.

I'm not sure when that's going to release, but it's not going to be before the end of

the year.

It's going to be early 2018.

2019.

Oh god, it's almost 2019.

Because as much as I mentioned earlier that I knew what Stone Heart was going to be before

I started writing it, it is not the same case with Hell Skin.

I really know one or two major things about that book, and the rest is all—I gotta start

making it up right now.

But Stone Heart is here, it is available for sale, it will be releasing next week.

My patrons have already been sent the final copy of the book and they've been reading

it, and some of them have really been liking it.

So I think you might, too.

So let us all join in on this wonderful day of celebration of another book release.

Yaaay!

And that is all I've got for you today, Rebel.

I'm going to rest today—that's a lie.

I'm gonna keep working.

And I'm gonna start cracking on the next book.

But in the meanwhile, I have greatly enjoyed talking to you today, and I will talk to you

again next Friday.

Byyy—*snore.*

How to Solve a 4x4 Rubik's Cube - Part 1: Centers (2018) - Duration: 13:46.

In this video I'm going to show you how to solve a 4x4 Rubik's Cube

Check out my other videos showing you how to solve a 2x2 Rubik's cube, a 3x3, a 4x4 and even a 5x5

So in this video, I'm going to show you how to solve this 4x4 Rubik's cube. For the purpose of this video

It would be better if you already knew how to solve a 3x3 Rubik's cube as many of the movements are the same

If you don't already know how to solve a 3x3 Rubik's cube

then I suggest you check out my 3x3 Rubik's cube tutorial video

as all the movements and algorithms in that video will also be used to solve the 4x4

I won't be going over in great detail the movements and algorithms that we learned on the 3x3

But we will get a quick refresher

But if you want to learn exactly what we're doing in detail and the movements then you need to know the 3x3 ideally

I'm going to try to teach you how to solve this 4x4 cube using the least amount of extra algorithms that I know how

In addition to the algorithms that I showed you in the 3x3 tutorial

Once we arrange the 4x4 into what looks like a scrambled 3x3

then we can finish the cube the same way as a 3x3

except for a few exceptions when you run into a parity

and I'll explain what parity is when we come across them

So in this video, I'll teach you a method

so they'll only be three extra algorithms that you need to learn in addition to the ones that you learnt on the 3x3

So now I've just scramble the cube

The first step in to solving a 4x4 Rubik's cube is lining up these middle pieces

These four middle pieces here are equivalent to one centerpiece on a 3x3 Rubik's cube

If you remember what I said about a 3x3 these center pieces are fixed in relation to each other

This blue will always be opposite is green.

This white will always be opposite yellow

and the red will always be opposite orange

And we have to arrange them in the same orientation on the 4x4

because on the 4x4 they're not set they can actually move

And I'll show you how to get them in the right orientation as we solve them

But what you do need to memorize first is you need to memorize what colour is opposite which other colour

For example I started with green on my other Rubik's cube videos

and I'm going to start with green on this one for some consistency

And to start arranging these all the same colours

What we need to do we need to make pairs

We need to pair two greens and another two greens in the same row and join them together

So the first thing to do is to find two greens and join them together

Now you'll be pleased to know there's no algorithms that you need to remember when we're doing the centers

It's just basically using logic

It's intuitive

I'm basically gonna show you the idea of

of putting them in the right place, how to do it

And then you just go around your cube and sort of figure it out using the technique that I'm going to show you

So you see how we've got two greens here

Well first they're on the same plane so we can join them anyway, cuz you move this you move them both

So we need one on the left and one on the right

so

Now I've got one on the right one on the left, so they can move

And then to join them, you see how one's the top, one's on the bottom

Well we're needing either both on the top or both on the bottom

So when I move them they will pair

So I'll turn this one to the top. So now this one's on the top

This one's the top

Top right, top left

and when I twist the cube, I join them together

And then look around for the other greens I've got another green here and another green here

And this time, we're going to twist it that way

So one wants to be on the top, one wants to be on the bottom, which they are

This one is on the right, this one is on the left

So when I turn it you see they're going to end up like this, in a crisscross

So turn it back so, we either want both on the left or both on the right

I'll just put this one on the right, remember still on the top, so this one's top right

This one's bottom right and when I twist it

I've got another piece [pair]

and this one, we want it vertical, we want to bring that up to match the top one

As you can see they're both on the same side.

So we want one on the left one on the right, it doesn't matter which

I'll put this one on the left and then

When I twist the cube, I bring them together

Okay, so that's our first centerpiece done

If you remember when I did the 3x3 I started on the green and then the final face that we did was blue

So we know what blue is opposite green

So I'm going to put blue on this face

So look around you cube for two pieces

I've already got two in position here

So I'll move them up

If I move them up..

well I've separate my green

so I need to bring them down to repair my green

But what I can do, if I move them up when I've separated my green

If I twist them onto the other plane

I want to bring my green back down

And leave it on the top

Find the other two blues, I've got one and here one here and they're both on the bottom

so one wants to be on the top

Now when I twist the cube, I'm bringing them to each other. This one is on the right

This one is on the left. So if I bring them together

They'll be in opposite corners, so that's no good

So if I turn this one. Now this one's in the right and so is this one

So when I twist them together

They're now joined

and you want them vertical like this

and you see how they're in the same plane

Now they're not, and I can twist it up

However, I've joined these but I've broken my green again

so if I put my green back in place

I split my blue. So how do I get the blue up here with leaving the green down there?

Well, this wants to be the blue

so I rather then pushing my blue up, I'll bring these down

If I turn this back to this side

I can bring these down to the blue

and when I'm bringing these down I'm separating the greens

So I'm bringing these down to the blue remember, this is the top, this is opposite the green

Replace them with the blue

And put them back up and that has brought the other green back

So now I've got blue and green, two opposite centerpieces completed

So now what I do, I turn the cube so the blue is on the right-hand side

And now we also need to work out the orientation of the colours as well, we know blue is opposite green

Hopefully, you know white is opposite yellow and red is opposite orange

But if I take my 3x3 here

Put blue on the right, see I've got yellow on top here

So white should be underneath. It is.

and this is orange. But we know orange is opposite red

But when you're arranging it in a 4x4 even though we know this is yellow, this is white.

This is orange, this is red

We don't know, even if we put yellow here

Whether this is orange or this is red

So we could get these a flip-flopped and the opposites will still be correct

Now the way I do it, I just think of the colours red, white and blue

If I turn the cube

And I look in a clockwise direction

I've got red, white and blue

And that's how I remember it. Red, white, blue

If you get these three in the correct orientation, then the opposites also will be

So I've got my blue on the right, think red white and blue

and I like to make my layer on the top

My centerpiece on the top

So when I'm making the next one I can see what I'm doing

So, I'm going to make this one white

So find two white pieces. I've got one here, one here. Both on the same plane in the top, in the top

We want one on the left one on the right. So I'll turn this

Now I've got one on the left one on the right, both in the top

Twist them together

Now, I've got a pair. And I want to turn them verticle

And now when I twist it, I won't break them

Remember because we've made these ones opposites

These won't get pulled apart now when we do all this movement

These are safe so we're only working on one axis

So look for the other white pieces, I've got one here, got one here

This one's on the bottom left Top right

So we need them either both on the bottom or both on the top

Put this one on the bottom. It's on the right, this one's on the bottom on the left

Make sure this one's vertical so we don't split them apart

And twist them around

And then I want to stand it vertical

Now I've stood this vertical I can look for my other pair

And I can just twist them together

So now

From the little rhyme red, white and blue Red, white, blue

This one we know needs to be red

Red, white, blue

We've only got one red piece here

We've got a red piece here. So I'm going to join these together

This one's in the bottom right, this one's in the top right

As I said, first they need to be in opposites

So now this one's right, this one's left

This one's bottom, this one's top, so they both need to be on the same level

So I'll bring this down to the bottom

So bottom left, bottom right

So now when I bring this down

They will meet

This is my white so red, white, blue

So this wants to be next to the white, so if I turn this up

When I repair my white

I've now got the first half of my red

Red, white, blue

And for the other two reds

They're already in a pair

Now how do I get them to here?

Well, we can put them on the same side as the red already because we know that they want to go here

And to get them here, we do the same as what we was doing the with the blue

We just bring these to the red

Remember these were next to the other red, with the white there

And then turn them on to it

And then replace them back

Now I've got the red and the white and the blue

And this is what I mean by it's just logic. You sort of work it out as you go

Once you get the basic idea of how to, of where to put these pieces to join them

It's just working it out

For me doing the centers is the most enjoyable part because you're not working on a memorized algorithm

You're just figuring it out

So we've got white, now I'll turn it and do the next one. So opposite white is yellow.

We've already got a pair

Turn this vertical so we don't break it

See what we've got on this side, oh we've already got another pair

So to get this here

What we do, as before we can just bring this to it

Turn it

And replace

And now we've completed this one, then the last one has to be complete as well

So we've got red, white, blue

Opposite red is orange

Opposite white is yellow

So now all the center's are complete and in the correct orientation

On the last two you might get in a position where you're like this

Where you've got one corner here, one corner here

And you need to figure out well, how do I get these?

Well think this is a row that we want to keep

This is our yellow row

And we want to join this one and this one

So this one is in the bottom right

And what I said, first they want to be on the opposite then the same layer

So we want this one on the bottom left

Now this one is on the bottom left

Remember this is the pair we're keeping here

We bring this down so we've matched them

Then replace them

And bring them back up

You might also get this where you've got criss-cross, criss-cross

You basically just choose which one you want to work on first

So let's work on the top

With the top

Yellow and yellow is both on the same side, so remember they want to be opposite

So now we've got opposite but they're both on the top

Bring it down, and you've lined them up

And how do you get them on the top? Well the red's here so you know this one wants to be next to the red

Bring it up

And the same for this one
