Hey Guys it's Sagar from Tecworkz.
With this video I want share with you guys, my experience of using the Redmi Note 6 Pro,
for the past 48 hours.
This is not my full review of this phone, that will be coming a bit later.
As I said in the unboxing video, leaving the notch aside, this phone looks and feels exactly
like the Redmi Note 5 Pro.
Edges at the back, seem to be slightly more curved, so it is a bit more comfortable to
hold.
Its a tad bit shorter but thicker than the Note 5 pro, but you wont notice the difference
just by looking at it.

out on any of the amazing videos coming up on this channel.
The camera does stick out of the back, and the phone rattles or wobbles when placed on
a table.
But when you use it with the case that camera in the box, it sits perfectly still and doesn't
rattle at all.
The case also protects the chamfered edges of the camera module, so I will be using this
case till I find a better option.
I got the blue coloured phone since you guys voted for it on twitter.
And to be honest I wasn't fond of this colour at first, but as I am looking at it and using
it, it is growing on me and I've started to appreciate it.
Build quality is good on this phone, specially compared to the POCO F1, which costs more,
but feels cheaper than the Note 6 pro when held side by side.
And I also like how click and tactile these volume and power buttons are.
But I just don't feel a lot of love for this dated design that Xiaomi is pushing at
us for yet another generation of this phone.
Fingerprint sensor is very fast and accurate, and its conveniently placed at the back.
You also have face unlock feature, which you can set up from within the settings.
It is not very fast or secure, So I am not using it as the main way unlock this phone.
But it is always nice to have more features and options on your phone.
Fingerprint sensor is much faster and secured, and it works almost every time.
The 6.26inch display is very sharp, and it gets bright enough to be viewed in most outdoor
conditions.
Notch at the top doesn't bother me, on this or any other phones I use.
But if it bothers you, you can hide it from he full screen display setting.
While you are at the full screen display settings, you might also want to turn on the full screen
gestures, and give it a try.
This gives you a slightly more screen real-estate.
I know many of you are going to ask about this theme in the comments.
It is the Limitless theme, and you can either select it while you are setting up the phone,
or you can search and select it from the Themes app, which is pre installed on the phone.
Note 6 Pro being a successor to the Note 5 pro, we expect it to come with a next gen
processor, but Xiaomi decided to stick with the same Snapdragon 636 processor as the Note
5 Pro.
Overall performance of this phone has been fluid so far.
But there are some of the other competing smartphones coming with newer and more capable
processors in the same price range, while others with this same processor are priced
much lower, I really think Xiaomi should have at least given us the Snapdragon 660, just
to keep up with the competition.
Multitasking on this 4GB RAM variant has been good so far, but if you are planning to use
this phone for the next couple of years, you should get the 6GB RAM variant.
I am still in the process of testing out the camera in various lighting situations.
But looking at some of the image samples I took yesterday, I have very high hopes for
the camera on this phone.
You don't get Optical stabilisation at this pricer, but the 1080p videos that you take
are electronically stabilised.
You again cannot shoot 4k videos with this phone, which is really dissappointing.
I am not sure about the reason, since the processor and camera sensor, both support
4k video capture.
More about this, in the dedicated camera review, which should be coming in a few days.
MiUI 10 is still, MIUI.
It is snappy and everything runs smoothly, but I am more of a stock android person, so
I would have preferred if this phone came under the Android One program.
It is still running Android 8.1, and I am hoping that Xiaomi pushes out the Pie update
soon.
Sound from the single downward firing speaker can get loud but it sounds a bit hollow, and
there is not enough richness to it.
Audio from he headphone jack also is not as good some of the other budget smartphones
from Xiaomi.
I wanted to let you guys know about the battery life, but 48hours is not enough time to put
the battery through its paces.
I can tell you, that I have used a quick charger to charge this phone, and it does juice up
pretty fast with that charger.
I only had to charge it once in the past 48hours, so that is assuring, and I think you can expect
the same amazing battery life from this phone as the Redmi Note 5 Pro.
As of now, no USB type C port for charging, No android Pie out of the box, and no 4K video
capture, are the only things that I don't like about this phone.
2 of these things can be fixed with future software updates.
There are other small annoyances, like not being able to see the battery percentage in
numbers, until you swipe down on the quick toggles shade.
The bar behind the Notch is bigger than the notch itself.
Even when you hide the Notch, the black bar at the top actually extends below the notch
for some reason.
I took a lot of images yesterday, and observed that, after you have clicked an image, there
is a delay of a second or two before you can take another one, and it can get very frustrating
if you want to click back to back images.
But all these are software issues and I think they can be refined with a few updates in
the future.
Xiaomi did not have much competition when the Note 5 Pro came out.
But this time with Asus, Honour, and Realme all trying really hard to take as much marker
share from Xiaomi as possible, I really thought Xiaomi would have gone all in with a radical
new design and/or much beefier internals to differentiate the Note 6 pro from competition.
But they went with just a few modest updates, so now we have to wait and see how the competition
reacts to this move by Xiaomi.
Alright guys, so this has been about my experience with the Redmi Note 6 Pro in the first 48
hours.
