How We Make YouTube Videos with Our Phone - Duration: 10:54.

all right we are rolling. how do you make

these videos what equipment do you use

to make these videos those are questions

we get asked all the time we're gonna

walk through how we make videos using

our phones what equipment we use and how

we make a video from start to finish how

do we come up with an idea for our

videos well it varies sometimes we plan

them in advance and other times they

happen spur-of-the-moment so let us show

you a quick clip of something that we

actually planned out and walk you

through how we did it

now when I say planned we didn't go

through and plan every single thing we'd

be doing during this shot what we

decided is we wanted to have a cool kind

of day on the town in Barcelona going

around all these different restaurants

and trying at least one dish at every

place you really didn't plan it beyond

that we started walking around going

from place to place we found dishes that

we would like we tried to keep it to one

dish at every place but some like this

place there were so many different

dishes that we wanted to try that by the

time we left I was so stuffed it was

time to call it a day most of the time

we're not planning out our videos and

we're shooting run and gun style that's

the reason we love the iPhone it's

always in our pockets and I can pull it

out and have it going pretty quickly so

let's see we both use the iPhone 8 plus

and Joe has a screen protector on his

and we both have the Pelican case which

keeps it a little bit protective when we

drop it and we have dropped it

well imagine when you're out you're

trying to shoot you've got this you're

focused on the phone it's easy to trip

you lose your balance and this thing

comes flying out of your hand it's

always good to have a good case on it

the iPhone also takes great time-lapse

of video and it works very well for

slow-motion shots we also use it to take

photos whenever we have shots where the

two of us are just kind of standing and

talking at the camera

cater I will set up the tripod we have a

small iPhone adapter on the top of it

and that's how we get a lot of our shots

so first thing Kate will do is she kind

of you know frames up the shot usually

I'm standing over here somewhere so that

she knows where the camera needs to be

so the iPhone snaps right in that little

holder you can see her getting the shot

limed up get a good idea of where we're

gonna be standing and like I said

usually I'm in the shot so it makes

things a lot easier but can't do that

since I'm filming I would say move a

little bit that's good and then take

half a step to your right there you go

I'm gonna be on your right side so kind

of covering the front of the van nice

background looks good lighting is decent

alright so let me get us let me start

shooting and then I'll walk over there

and we also have a few tricks up our

sleeves when we want to get a driving

shot for this shot I got out of the van

and climbed up on some rocks to get Kate

driving by when we want to get a shot of

the two of us walking but we don't have

a tripod we'll set the phone down

someplace and then just simply walk past

it now we also use a mirrorless samsung

camera to take photos and a GoPro for

those action shots now this little thing

is nearly indestructible when you have

it in a little watertight case so we use

that for a lot of the adventure shots we

get for example we are going down the

Bay of Fundy little motorboat we also

use it in the van what we'll do is we'll

use this little suction cup put it on

the window and we get shots out of the

van as we're driving it works really

well for that one of the most important

elements of any video is audio we have

three different sources the first are

these little lapel mics that I'm wearing

it is the zoom f1 field recorder and we

use these any time we need to pick up

our voices in a crowded spot or we're

talking about something like this video

I'm recording off the zoom right

but if I weren't recording off the zoom

we'd be getting the audio directly from

the iPhone now this is what it sounds

like from the iPhone when I'm talking

there's a big difference between this

and then when I go back to the zoom mic

now we also used the zoom IQ 7 this is a

little plug in mic that goes into the

port on the iPhone now the issue here is

whenever we use this I have to take the

phone out of the case that back in my

pocket and then I can plug this directly

into the phone the zoom is a stereo mic

it captures all of the sound around you

does a good job of getting voices as

well as ambient sound so let me turn it

on and you can hear what it sounds like

since Kate is filming with her iPhone

I'm just gonna go into the zoom app and

hit the record button we're now

recording I can set the gain on the

microphone so it's louder or lower

depending on the surrounding sound we

also have a windsock that goes over top

in case of windy situations let me just

let this go for a second so you can hear

everything going on around us you hear

the different crickets and the sounds of

nature you don't get that with a

microphone like this this is what it

sounds like with the zoom f1 field

recorder lav mic this is what it sounds

like on Kate's iPhone 8 and this is what

it sounds like with the zoom IQ 7

microphone why don't you have a drone do

you use a stabilizer I'm gonna let Jo

answer those questions as much as I

would love a drone to have and fly

around it just doesn't make sense for us

again our style is very run-and-gun

and anything we're shooting with needs

to be right at our fingertips all the

time something like a drone takes time

to set up you have to be in the right

place to fly it and all sorts of other

variables yes it would be cool to get

some of those shots but they just don't

work for us we've also looked into

having a large camera we used to shoot

with a Canon a TD but every time we

would bring it out we'd have to get the

settings right just for the lighting

we'd have to attach a microphone and all

sorts of other things and it just took

too much time

what we were finding is we were losing

the shot and more often than not I just

reach into my pocket and grab the iPhone

because it's always there and it's

always ready to go we've looked at other

things like a stabilizer a little gimbal

to carry the phone around but my

stabilizer is standing right behind the

camera right now she is great at holding

that camera steady and following me

around on all of our different

adventures so anytime we're

contemplating getting new equipment we

always ask ourselves a question is it

easy to set up and fast to use does it

work with that run and gun style we have

also is it going to move the needle

meaning if we spend thousands of dollars

on new equipment is it really going to

make that big of a difference in our

videos I bet that a lot of you didn't

really notice the difference between

when we were using the Canon which was a

$1500 camera with all the attachments

compared to using our iPhone 6 at the

time by the time video gets uploaded

it's been compressed and down rezzed

so the iPhone video looked almost as

good as anything else filming is only a

very small part of what we actually do

once we're done the real work begins

first step is take all of the content

off of our devices and put it onto the

drives now first step is taking all the

video content off of the iPhone this

takes quite a bit of time it's tedious

but it has to be done and of course all

the other devices each one of these

devices has its own memory card pull

those out import all the media get it

organized and then we're ready to sit

down and edit we're both using MacBook

Pros and using Final Cut 10 for all of

the editing we don't really use any

other software and in terms of equipment

aside from the MacBook we have quite a

few of these Seagate 4 terabyte hard

drives this is where we keep all of our

video images audio etc for our editing

none of it really goes on to the

computer otherwise the computer would

fill up really quickly I have a pair of

Sony these are the MDR 7 506 headphones

these are professional quality they are

wired but they work great and it's

essential if you're checking audio and

level

and things like that to have a really

good high quality pair of headphones I

also like to use a mouse this is the

Apple Magic Mouse it works well and

aside from that that's really all of our

equipment we try to keep everything as

simple as possible because again we live

in a van we have very limited space so

the more simple we can keep our setup

the better in terms of what music we use

we get all of that from YouTube's

content library they have a library full

of royalty-free music so it's one of the

reasons that if you watch a lot of

YouTube videos you've probably heard the

same songs used in other videos because

we're all grabbing music from that

library on occasion will also grab music

from Final Cut it has its own library

but it's pretty limited once the Edit is

complete we render out the file as a 4k

video and this is the final video you

see up on places like YouTube or a

website where the Russos dot-com this

has been all about the gear that we use

and how we put our videos together this

is just how we do it and when you go out

and start shooting your videos you need

to find your own style and what works

best for the type of videos you want to

make because our style may not fit with

what you want to do and it's perfectly

fine to have all the drone the

stabilizer the 20 cameras and whatever

else you need just make sure it works

for you and this is how we do it with

our iPhone yes and the one piece of

advice we always like to give to people

starting out is use what you have most

of us have a smartphone with a fairly

decent camera on it start making videos

on that and if you find you need the

bigger camera the stabilizer the drone

absolutely go out and get it but first

figure out what your style is and then

get the equipment to support that if

Hello Kitchens, today we are going to prepare healthy chocolate muffins the

ingredients are 160 grams of flour oatmeal 200 grams of cane sugar cane

whole sugar 250 milliliters of milk Vegetable 55 grams of pure cocoa powder

half a tablet of chocolate the more pure healthier will be two bananas two

eggs a large spoonful of vanilla another small spoonful of baking

Sodium another spoonful of yeast chemistry or baking powder and a pinch

okay super exciting today today I opened the door when a package was delivered

and it was a huge package from Mattel containing all of these brand new

Jurassic world fallen Kingdom toys I am so excited it

includes the big alpha blue wow wow I just got this big huge package delivered

it was on my front porch it says Mattel oh oh

Mattel sent me a big huge box of stuff what could be in here it's full of

dinosaur toys and check this out this sent me a custom letter let's go

ahead and check it out it says here is some long-awaited drastic goodies for

your enjoyment and videos there's a few hard-to-find items included plus a few

that aren't on shelves yet and stores enjoy Dominic New Giant Box Jurassic World Alpha Training Blue Surprise Fallen Kingdom Mattel Dinosaur Toys

Wow Dominic is the guy I work with from Mattel oh this thing is packed awesome

let's check them out first oh and guys these toys I showed you I

just got today I made the video today and I'm releasing the video of today

that's how excited I am especially this one this is the Giant alpha trainer woo

this is like the most advanced robotic dinosaur Mattel has ever made says

lifelike realistic movement this guy is cool you have to actually

train it I believe it takes about two hours to train it from infancy to adult

which I will be showing you guys the training also and there is a look at the

back so there's not much to see here but I will be unboxing these guys next week

this is one of the ones I will definitely be doing I'm super excited

about that and I got some new ones here that are not even on jokes yet this one

is one that was exclusive to Toys R Us that destructs the source so you can't

even buy these anymore this is the trainer dong copter attack so you could

buy this one but you have to go off of ebay and is super expensive so this is a

Pteranodon destruct the swords and it also has a skin code there's a new set

there too which one is that I don't know awesome Wow then another

new one that's not on shelves yet is the lava search playset so this is a nuke

Baryonyx it says slime plasma and it includes all of this a really cool set

and a Baryonyx that custom his head part is custom painted orange Wow this says

breakaway wall insert slime boom we're gonna have fun to death slimy die

and the skin coat also and then they sent me some cool dinos which I don't

have yet because the stores in my area don't have these I know they've been out

mostly over in Europe so this is aa corridor this is a sign of cereth hops

so he sounds really cool let's check out the back okay just shows the other and

another one i don't have yet is the min me so these and this is an attack pack

one so here's the other ones which they sent me those also and this is the

Protoceratops attack pack so that's another new one for me a lot of these

what I'm showing you our phase 2 and phase 3 some of these are not even on

shelves and then a pro Stratis chorus oh wow this guy just in the package he

looks like an evil velociraptor cool and then they sent me a bunch of the new

character sets this is Claire and Stegosaurus you could buy this one but

it is pretty expensive and then they sent me Wheatley

that's cool we'll be make some awesome battles and the next one they sent me

was a mercenary and include Soros which is also another one and they sent me

Triceratops Ziya and Triceratops I haven't even seen

this one anywhere so I don't know if this one's on shelves yeah or just leave

it and then they sent me a couple of the Jurassic world Legacy Collection ones

this is Pteranodon and this is Della - I don't think I have this one yet

so no this one has like running legs I definitely do not have them so we'll be

adding quite a few of these to our app which I already have I believe 46 dinos

in that app so if you've been following my videos you have that many - ok so it

Today I'll teach you how to get the neighbor's dog to stop barking.

So let's get started.

First have a talk with your neighbor.

Give them a few tips about how to solve the problem of excessive barking.

Second, block the dog's eyesight.

The dog sometimes barks to protect territory and seeing you will alert the dog.

Use physical sight barriers to block dog's eyesight.

Third, become familiar with the dog.

Ask your neighbor if you can spend some time with a dog so you can play with it.

Tip: Bring dog's favorite food so that you can feed it during the play.

Hooked and Locked Crochet Along: Blanket part 1 - setup and row 1 alternative way of working - Duration: 14:08.

Hi! In this video we will start with the large

blanket, and we will do the setup a little bit different than what we did

with the practice piece, so I will show you that.

In the video of the practice piece, you saw

me do the long-tail setup for colour 1, and in this video

I will use this dark pink for color 1.

Please, if you haven't made the practice piece

please do so, and try that out, and watch the video also, or the video's,

because it has been split up in several video's,

because I will not repeat everything in detail here, because that's

already in that video, so watch that video where we do the setup with the long tail

method, and in the practice piece we marked

every 10th stitch, here I marked only

stitch 20, 40, and for this video I will do a

short version, but in your instructions from my website you can see how many

stitches to cast on, and here is the setup for color 2,

and here I did mark every 10th stitch, and I also used a kind of color coding,

because this is stitch 20 of color 1, and here is stitch 20 of color 2

and here is stitch 40 of color 1,

and here is also 40, so use that color code, it can help you,

and I will add a picture to this video (sorry, forgot that..)

of the full width of the blanket that I did, then you can see how many

stitchmarkers you have there, and that's why we will

do it differently this time, and I will also work from the written directions,

and for this version they are a little bit more important than

for the setup that we used for the practice piece.

For the border of the entire blanket I will use the stairs

that we did during the practice piece, so we will have a

very easy start, and then after a couple of rows

made my last double crochet in the stitch before the stitchmarker, so that's good,

and if you count now, you have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,

8, 9, 10 squares, so that's correct,

and of course you could continue with this setup right away,

but I prefer to do this in parts, so I will stop

with crocheting with color 1, and I will first do a part of

crocheting with color 2.

So, and this is exactly as we did with the practice piece,

we will first make these 4 chains,

1, 2, 3, 4,

and then we will work through the back of the second square and pick up

that loop, and that first one is, okay, this time it went quite easy,

so this is exactly what you did with the practice piece, and I also

made another video with some tips, to help you get through this

first part, and okay, then we will do our next stitch

on the front again, so you have to see where to make this stitch,

but you can watch that all in the video that I did

about the practice piece, so I will do 1 stitch more,

one more extra stitch, because I want to show you again

these stitchmarkers that can help you to

anchor the stitches, so,

so again, I always like to anchor the start, because it shifts a little bit,

like I told in the other video with the extra tips.

The double crochet of color 2 that gets in the back is before the post of the

double crochet here, and this one is after that, so

you can lock this down this way,

so just use your markers to make life easy and

well, you can do it every pair of two,

so here again,

so you see that helps prevent

the shifting a lot, and okay, I will work until I've come here, to this stitchmarker of

color 2, and then I will see you back.

I have the first part of color 2, and as

you can see here on the back, I've come to the stitch before the

stitchmarker, so that's correct, and now we can count,

so we have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 squares, that's 1 less than color 1,

but I also explained that in the practice piece video, that you should have

1 less than color 1. So now we can stop working with color 2,

and continue to work with color 1. I will remove the stitchmarker,

and then we start weaving through the chain again,

so,

my yarn,

and here is the setup chain,

so the last one is done in front, so - have I done my

chain? Yes I did - so we will start weaving,

first I will remove these stitchmarkers, because

they are in the way a bit,

we checked that already that we've come to the right place, so

they have done their job, so again,

the last one is done in front, and then the next one should be behind color 2,

and then again the next one in front of color 2,

and while you weave

please take care that your V-stitches keep facing you,

and well , you can do that again until you've

come to the next marker, and then again you will stop with

crocheting color 1, and then you continue to crochet with color 2 again,

and well, you continue this way until the end of the row, and

well, in this way you have your extra checks, and in counts, and vereything to help you make

this do right away in one try,

as I told, the first couple of rows are

the stairs that we did for the practice piece.

Continue until you've come to row 4b, because then we will have a change in the

Hi! We have done a couple of rows for the bottom border of the big blanket,

and now I will show you how to do a couple of more rows

where the pattern changes.

The last row I did was row 4a, and now we will do

row 4b. If you look here at the directions, you see this special

column here, with all these numbers, and these are

the double crochets, so that you can count.

So this row, we will start with back, front, 2 times, and that's double crochet

1 to 4, so we are already at the back, so we did well with the start of

4a, so 1, 2, 3, my first 4 chain stitches, and this is at the back,
