Youtube daily Oct 3 2018

Hey there, Alex here.

I know that most of you are probably more interested in the Pixel 3 at this point, but

today I want to talk about the Pixel 2.

If you've seen my review of the phone last year, you probably know that this was one

of my favourite phones.

So before the Pixel 3 gets announced, I want to do a quick revisit of the phone.

The design of the phone was never great to begin with, and at this point, the large front

bezels makes it look older than it really is.

But in day to day use, the bezels actually makes it a lot easier to reach all parts of

the screen.

So meaning, it's nicer to use one-handed, even if it's not the best looking.

The other thing I'm not a huge fan of are the materials used.

Despite being a metal phone, the Pixel 2 has a sort of plastic coating.

It does feels quite nice, but comparing it to the older Pixel, I actually prefer the

metal finishing.

Anyway, you probably notice that I've covered mine up with a dbrand skin to protect the

phone from wear and tear, so it's not a big deal.

I also have a popsocket as well that makes using the phone one-handed even easier.

Not sponsored by the way, I just happen to really like these accessories.

Pixel devices has always been about software, and it's the same for the Pixel 2.

When you look at the specifications of the phone, there isn't really any stand out features.

No insane amount of RAM, no bezel-less QHD screen, no dual camera setup, no variable

aperture, you get the idea.

It's all still really good, but just not great.

There is no wireless charging as well, it's only rated at IP67 instead of IP68, and even

though it has stereo speakers, it doesn't really sound that amazing.

However, because of the software, this is still my favourite phone to use, even today.

It runs Google's vision of Android, which is almost like stock Android but with some

extra features.

Things like telling you what song is playing in the background, and the ability to squeeze

the phone to launch Google Assistant.

I don't actually use any of those features, but what I do like though, is the clean Android

experience, and being first in line for the latest software updates and security patches.

It still feels extremely snappy even today, and battery life is actually still decent,

easily lasting me a day of use with around 4-5 hours of screen on time.

There is another unique feature of the Pixel lineup, the unlimited Google Photos uploads

in original resolution.

I take a lot of photos, so having the ability to upload all of them without taking up any

of my Google Drive storage, is a godsend for me.

The only downside is that unlike the first Pixel which seems to provide this feature

for the entire lifespan of the phone, the Pixel 2 will only have this feature till the

beginning of 2021, which is just slightly over 2 year from now.

So for folks who are planning to use the phone for as long as possible, just take note.

Anyway, you'll still get the unlimited high resolution option after that, which is slightly

compressed, but still excellent looking.

Phonearena did an excellent comparison a few years back, I'll put a link in the description

below so you guys can check it out if you want to.

This photos backup feature is perfect for the Pixel 2, simply because of how good this

camera is.

Over the past year, I've tested newer and more expensive phones, and I still like the

images taken by the Pixel 2 more.

The way it processes details, colours, and dynamic range, just looks more appealing to

me, and I'm not the only one who thinks that.

Here are just some photos I took with the phone, and I have a link below to more of

them in the description below.

1 year later, this is still one of my favourite phones around, and if your needs are like

mine, I think it's still a great option, especially if you're not looking to spend

too much on a brand new phone.

It's not perfect for sure, but the user experience is good enough that I can overlook

some of its shortcomings.

I'm pretty excited to see what the Pixel 3 has to offer, but I'm still so contented

with the Pixel 2 that it's going to take a lot more from Google to convince me to upgrade.

Thanks for watching this quick revisit of the Pixel 2.

If you've enjoyed it, be sure to leave a like, and subscribe to the channel for more

content in the future.

Thanks again, and see you guys on the next one.

Sean Casey Explains How He Ended Up with Ken Griffey Jr.'s Clippers - Duration: 4:54.

-Welcome back, fellas. -Great to be back.

-You said favorite, but this is like our sixth time,

and Martha Stewart, I think it's her ninth.

-Yeah. You guys, early on,

you were our most recurring guest,

and then Martha Stewart has just blasted by you guys.

-Blasted by us.

-Well, the problem is, you guys are just baseball season guys,

whereas Martha Stewart is all 12 months out of the year.

[ Laughter ] -Great point.

We're just gonna start popping in once in a while.

-Okay, good. -Playoff time, get us on.

-You did not go to Italy this summer.

-No, I did not.

-But you were sighted at a Pearl Jam concert in Italy.

-I was. -Here's the Pearl Jam concert.

And there's Sean's head in the crowd.

[ Laughter ]

Sean, how did this come to happen?

-Well, my friend Shannon, who's a big Pearl Jam fan

I work with at the network, is like,

"Hey, I'm going to Padua, Italy.

And I know you and Ed are friends,

and I'm bringing a big fathead of you,

like a flat Casey with me."

I guess she must've like --

She had to, like, check her bags.

She couldn't bring it on. It was humongous, right?

-Yeah. -She brought it with her.

And I guess she was just in the stands, like,

holding it up for every song.

-Now, and Eddie Vedder saw it. -Yeah, he saw it.

-Now, I first thought,

"Wow. How would you actually see it if you were on stage?"

But we have video, and I think if you were on stage,

you would see this.

♪♪

[ Laughter ]

-And it's interesting that Eddie Vedder got it backstage.

There's Pearl Jam drinking a beer.

[ Laughter ]

-That's the greatest.

I mean, it's the first thing I'd pack, too.

And Eddie Vedder's like, "To Italy,

I bring my Sean Casey head.

I keep thinking, too, that it was so big, it must --

You know when you go to baggage claim

and you have to go to the irregular size one?

-Yeah. -And so, it's, like,

baby strollers and golf clubs and your big old head.

[ Laughter ] -Oversize.

-I got a text from Ed, like, right at the encore.

He's like, "You're not gonna believe this, man."

He's like, "I'm in Padua, Italy, and I'm jamming out,

and I look over, and I just see this huge head

bobbing up and down."

He's like, "I think something's going on.

I look closer," he's like, "And it's your head

with a big smile just jamming to every Pearl Jam song."

I was like, "Hey, I came to Italy with you."

-Post-season's coming.

This is a time where guys have their superstitions.

Facial hair -- we've talked about that in the past.

You have one of the most unique superstitious facial-hair days.

-Yeah. -Not a month.

But explain this one day.

-I can grow a neck beard in hours, as you see.

[ Laughter ] Honest to God.

So, I'm a big facial-hair connoisseur

when on plate, right? -Yep.

-Shaved head, whatever it was.

And I had a beard to start the game.

I wasn't swinging the bat great. Let's be honest.

And then I ground it short.

So, I went upstairs. I was mad.

And I went goatee, shaved during the game.

There's one out. I'm like, "Oh, my God.

Oh, my God." [ Laughter ]

So then I've got a goatee.

So I get up to the plate, you know, and then ground out short.

I'm like, "What do I do now?"

Ha! Back upstairs.

Now I got the handlebars.

I went here, I got the handlebars,

and now I'm back up.

Ground ball to short.

So, bottom line -- the announcer in the third at-bat was like,

"I could've sworn, didn't Kevin Millar

have a beard at the start of this game?"

And then, they bring it up like, "Yeah.

And then, he had a goatee." [ Laughter ]

"And now he's got that."

And I was 0-3 with three ground balls.

-0-3. It never worked. -Never worked.

So, I started shaving the head, as you remember.

-Yes, I do. And that ended up being successful-ish?

-Yeah, it did. -Yeah, okay.

-Not with the family life.

'Cause wife came home and goes, "What happened to your hair?"

But, yeah.

-You take self-grooming seriously.

-Yes, I do. -Yeah.

-I do. -And, I mean, anyone can tell.

-Look at -- Look at the neck beard!

-Who doesn't take self-grooming seriously?

[ Laughter ]

-You actually got to borrow some grooming devices from a legend.

-From one of the greatest players ever.

-Yeah. -Right? I'm in St. Louis.

You know, it was time to groom it up.

I was, like, in the showers.

"I got to start grooming this up real nice."

And so Ken Griffey Jr., obviously one of

the greatest players ever, had these clippers.

They were like the Mercedes of clippers.

They must have been like 5,000 bucks, right?

So I was like, "I got to ask him one time.

I can't be shy.

I got to ask if I can borrow his clippers."

So I go over one day, I'm like,

"Hey, Grif, man, I'm going back to the hotel.

Any chance I can borrow those clippers?"

'Cause I'm using the Wahl clippers I get,

you know, at the drugstore.

He's like, "Yeah, go ahead and take them."

So I go back to my room, I turn them on, it was like --

[ Imitating loud revving ]

It was like a steel weed whacker.

I was like -- Zzh zzh zzh!

Like 38 seconds later, I'm fully groomed.

Like, it's unbelievable.

Like, this thing, no wonder they're 5,000 bucks, right?

So, I put them back in the thing.

Next day, I'm coming to the yard,

you know, right before the game.

Grif's sitting there, he's getting ready.

I go, "Hey, dude, man, thanks a lot.

You know, I appreciate you

letting me use these unbelievable clippers."

He goes, "Hey, no problem." So, I go sit at my locker.

He's like, "Hey, Case,

did you shave your whole body with these?"

And I go, "Yeah, I think I did."

He goes, "You can have 'em."

[ Laughter ]

And I still have them!

When I groom up -- This is 17 years later.

I'll send him a picture, say,

"Dude, thanks for these clippers.

They're Still working."

-You went neck all the way down to the toes.

[ Laughter ]

-They're gonna ask for those in Cooperstown one day.

-I know! They're gonna want them.

-That would be a special exhibit.

How to Lose Weight Without Diet or Exercise - Duration: 3:39.

Ahhh! My weight went up AGAIN?! This scale MUST be broken.

Ever since I started working, the cute little university girl

has now transformed into the chubby office cookie monster!

How did this happen to me?!

I really try to watch what I eat by not eating so much for dinner

though I do instead eat a lot for breakfast and lunch.

Or is it too much?

Sometimes in the office, we have cookies and cakes and all sorts of snacks and I only grab one or two every once in a while!

I mean I really try not to but I always cave in.

They look so delicious and it's free.

I usually only eat it in the afternoon, by the evening, it's already digested and gone.

I set a goal for myself to lose half a kilo per week.

It's a weight loss goal that professionals say are very effective.

When I calculate the numbers, I should lose about 24 kg after a year.

But no, not only did I only lose half a kilo A MONTH,

in some months, I didn't even lose anything and instead gained 2-3 kilos.

But then somehow, I could do it. I lost the weight without even dieting or exercising.

It all happened when I signed a contract to be a writer.

When that happened, I quit my job and only worked from home.

I no longer had to face the parade of sweets in the office or internally battle the chocolates placed on my colleagues table.

It really helped to not be tempted.

Hedy Kober, director of Yale's Clinical and Affective Neuroscience Lab

who also co-authored a 2016 research review on how we respond to food says

"Food cues. They make you eat more."

Food cues are like seeing food, smelling food, or even just images of food that will tempt you.

It's like ringing a bell to call a dog for dinner and he's just drooling non-stop.

If Pavlov himself were to rise up from his grave to check our

salivary glands when we walk pass some grilled chicken,

he would feel like his research has yet again been proven true.

In 2016 a researcher replicated Pavlov's experiment in Google's workspace

which has a constant availability of food and drinks.

Before the experiment, the researchers noticed that most Google employees that enter the break room

would often get a drink first after entering the room.

Taking this into account the researchers decided to place snacks next to the drinks at one end of the room

while leaving the drink area empty at the other end of the room.

The experiment showed that the employees who went for a drink where the snacks were available

ate twice much than those who grabbed drinks from where there was no snacks in sight.

So, what have we learned from this?

It actually comes down to getting better control of your surroundings.

For example not putting food near your place of work to avoid tempting yourself.

As the saying goes "Out of sight out of mind"

I myself have taken complete control of my own surroundings.

Now if you were to step into my kitchen right now, you won't see any snacks laying around.

Not only do I avoid buying any junk food or snacks,

if I did buy any, I would keep it away in a cupboard.

That way, I'm not tempted.

But I admit, when you're stuck in a surrounding that you have no control over

it's much harder to resist the temptation.

It's no coincidence that the pork roast from the roadside grill shop always smells so good

or that little dessert shops likes to offer free samples

I mean there are actual jobs for people to decorate food and make it appear appetizing on screen.

This is what we must overcome.

It's been 20 years now since I left my job at the office and became a writer from home.

And trust me when I tell you my weight-loss journey hasn't been easy.

But just by making these small changes in your surrounding

I believe you'll be able to live a happier and healthier life.

Chelsea Clinton Has a New Approach to Responding to Trolls: Radical Kindness - Duration: 5:37.

-Chelsea, welcome back to the show.

And thank you for coming on, 'cause the last time --

I don't know if you remember the last time I saw you.

It was in the street in New York City here.

-It was. -We were --

-We were in the rain together.

-We were in the rain together. Yeah.

And I was -- It was weird for me.

I just want to explain myself

'cause I didn't mean to be weird.

-It's okay.

So I think we had just dropped our kids off at preschool,

'cause our kids go to the same preschool.

And it was raining, and I was walking back home,

and you were just standing on the corner being rained on.

-Yeah. -With a bag.

-I had a bag, yeah.

And you came up to me and you go, "Do you want my umbrella?"

-Yeah, 'cause I had a hood and you had no hood and no umbrella.

-But I was -- No, but I was nervous

because I actually was going into --

You know Bedford Cheese Shop right there?

And I was going into the cheese shop, and I'm a bad liar.

So I was telling you the truth.

And I said I'm just --

And I was stuttering, and I said,

"I'm actually going into the cheese shop

because I am going to sell..."

-Cheese. -"...cheese to them."

-And I was like, "You're going into the cheese shop

to sell cheese."

-It's the weirdest thing.

But I wasn't selling it, but I was.

-And then you were talking about goats.

-Yes, I started talking about goats

because this is a true story. -And there were blueberries?

-Well, no, so Lorne Michaels has a blueberry farm in Maine,

and he actually has these goats, and I played with the goats.

They're really cute, and I know the family, the Beals.

They make their own goat cheese, and it's really delicious.

And so I got some of the cheese, and I was trying to tell the --

or ask the cheese place to se--

I know, as I am saying it now, it sounds like --

it sounds like the biggest lie.

And I'm like, "Dude, I'm trying,"

and I'm getting rained on.

You're like, "You are weird, dude."

Like, what is going on?

Anyway, I just want to apologize.

-And were you successful? -I don't know yet.

It's still up for grabs, but it's the best cheese.

Josh Pond cheese, it's really good.

And I love -- And the goats work really hard.

They're really good. And I love them.

Anyways, I wanted to apologize for being so weird.

And thank you for offering me your umbrella.

-Any time. -You're very nice.

Let's talk about the book, pal.

"Start Now! You Can Make a Difference."

I love it. -Thank you.

-Now, this is -- What is this, your fourth?

-It is my fourth book for young readers.

-You are crushing it. And they're great.

My kids have all your other books.

And they read them all the time and they love it.

"She Persisted," fantastic.

What made you want to do this one?

-So the first book that I wrote for young readers

was for pre-teens and teenagers called "It's Your World."

And when I was on that tour,

I had teachers and parents, older siblings say,

"Are you going to write a book

for even younger would-be activists?"

And I said, "Oh, maybe, maybe."

But that was rattling around in my brain.

And so after a few years, I decided I had to.

I had to kind of tell stories about 6-, 7-, 8-year-olds

who are making a difference

and kind of tackle some of the questions

that I was concerned about at that age,

and so this is "Start Now," and it came out today.

-It is out today, and it's about...

[ Cheers and applause ]

...health.

You talk about everything in here.

The first chapter is "Water, Weather,

and Why We Don't Drink Our Poop."

[ Laughs ]

-I'm sure you've had that conversation

with your kids, too. -Yes. Yes.

Well, kind of, yes. Exactly, but yeah.

I just love it. It's definitely for kids.

But I actually learned stuff, too, as I was reading it.

I mean, I didn't have a problem with that in particular.

Anyway, now I sound like just a weird guy selling cheese.

-I knew you were talking about the giant panda story.

-Yes. Oh, yeah.

But there's a thing in here where you actually have examples

from actual children

of how they're already making a difference.

Is there any one that sticks out for you?

-Well, something I didn't know about

until I started writing this book are buddy benches,

and I learned about this --

-Buddy benches? -Buddy benches.

I learned about this kid Christian

whose family was moving to Germany

and then decided to stay in the United States.

But when they'd gone to visit schools in Germany,

he saw these buddy benches

that if kids were feeling lonely they could sit on.

And other kids at the school had a responsibility

but really the opportunity to go and sit down

and say, "You're not alone.

Like, what do you want to talk about?" and just be a buddy.

And so when he came back to the U.S.,

he asked his school if they could have a buddy bench.

They said yes, and then he started an effort.

Now there are buddy benches

in hundreds of schools in every single state.

-Wow. [ Cheers and applause ]

How cool is that? -Isn't that great?

-Sit on the bench.

Somebody goes, "Hey, tell me about yourself."

You also talk in here about bullying, which is really --

It's just an awful thing.

I mean, especially with social media and stuff today,

I just go like, "Ugh."

And I'm sure you've been a victim of bullying.

-For as long as I can remember.

-But you fight back.

-Well, I respond with kindness, which is, I think, standing up

but hopefully not aggressive,

because I used to ignore the trolls.

I used to kind of follow the, like,

"don't give them oxygen, don't feed them" approach.

But I think that that could have been interpreted

as being kind of complicit in that ugliness.

And I can't respond to all of it

because that would consume every minute of every day

and maybe part of my soul,

but I do think it's important to respond to some of it

and to show that this is not okay.

And I feel that way particularly now as a parent.

I don't want my children to see me ignoring it.

I want them to see me engaging

with radical kindness and empathy.

-And that works?

-I hope so. -Yeah.

-I hope so. -It's cool. I love it.

Chelsea Clinton, everybody.

"Start Now! You Can Make a Difference" is available now.

Please come back, and I'll bring an umbrella for you.

-Next time. -Next time for you.

Kevin Millar Thinks Fortnite Is Terrible - Duration: 3:38.

-I want to show a video.

Giancarlo Stanton hit a very impressive home run in Boston,

and yet what happened after was even more impressive.

What the fan did with the home-run ball.

Let's take a look.

-Watch the fan chuck it back.

He throws it back, and he actually

hit Stanton with the ball.

[ Laughter ]

-So, home run. Can you believe that a fan

could, from that left field wall, throw a ball in one hop

and hit the guy who just hit the home run?

-I mean, if you and I are in the bleachers,

rarely do you want to throw a big league ball back.

You think, like --

Now you see the big swifty guys. They change it.

They keep the real ball,

and then they kind of throw them back.

This was unbelievable, if you think about it.

It's a fan's dream.

Here's the Yankees, they hit a home run,

and I chuck it, and it one-hops perfectly as he rounds second,

boom off the head! You know?

And I love Stanton's reaction like, $325 million later,

like, "Hey! Hey! Hey, hey, hey, hey!"

-Yeah. It's amazing how $325 million

can make you a good sport. [ Laughter ]

-Also, he's good-looking. -Yeah!

-He's tall, his body's really hot.

Could you imagine having his body one summer?

-Oh, my God. For one day, I'd take it.

-It's amazing!

-Has that ever happened to you at Fenway?

You played there.

-You know what? Never did.

Because I've never hit a home run at Fenway Park.

[ Laughter ]

I played there for a whole season.

I was just at a fundraiser with Terry Francona

who was my manager at the time, in '08.

It's like, me, him, and Jim Thome are up on the stage,

and he's like -- This whole crowd's out there,

and he goes, "Hey, we signed Sean Casey to come out,"

and he turns to me, he's like,

"Case, we signed you for some pop off the bench.

When we signed you, we didn't mean no pop."

I said, "Yeah, you're right. No home runs -- my bad.

Next time."

-You guys both have children, and I want to ask about this.

Because obviously, we grew up around the same time,

we watched a lot of sports.

Nowadays, my kids are too young to watch anything yet,

but kids are watching people play video games.

They're watching online.

"Fortnite" is very popular. Has this happened?

As children of ex Major Leaguers, are your kids --

Do they care about video games,

or are they all about watching baseball?

-All right, Seth, let me just tell you right now.

I'm gonna teach you right. I got four --

Two 13-year-olds, a 12-year-old, and an 8-year-old, okay?

This "Fortnite" thing, I'm sorry.

"Son, go get good at golf. Spieth makes a lot of money.

Eric McCormack Wants Justin Trudeau to Be Will Truman's Secret Lover - Duration: 6:10.

-Our first guest tonight is an Emmy Award-winning actor

you know best as Will Truman from NBC's "Will & Grace,"

which returns for its second revival season

this Thursday at 9:00 p.m.

Let's take a look.

-Grace, is Will here?

-I'll get him.

Hey. What's up?

-You are not going to believe this.

I just saw my boobs walking down Madison Avenue.

-That's why the little label on the pill bottle says

do not mix with alcohol.

-Please welcome back to the show Eric McCormack, everyone.

[ Cheers and applause ]

♪♪

♪♪

Welcome back. -Nice to be back.

-I have to say, that really speaks to the fact

that you work on a classic show.

With very little context, that was an extremely funny clip.

-Thank you. Well, yeah.

All you have to do is talk about Karen's boobs.

-Yeah, exactly.

-And everybody is paying attention.

-Well, last time you were here

you had just done a mini reunion.

Sort of small special "Will & Grace."

This is before the revival season.

-It was the only thing we were going to do.

We were going to do this 10-minute video

to encourage people to vote for Hillary.

Clearly that worked a treat. -Yeah.

[ Laughter ]

You struck out hard.

People still blame you guys for it. Yeah.

[ Laughter ]

-I know. She's not speaking to us.

-Yeah.

-That's why she did Murphy's -- the Murphy show.

But then NBC saw it and said, "We've got to have this."

Полный обзор велосипедной портативной влагозащищенной беспроводной аудио-колонки "Venstar S404" - Duration: 25:26.

Hello!

I hope that with the purchase of this product, finally, the issue of equipping my bike

with portable bluetooth acoustics will be solved.

Have urged to unpack!

It took 15 days to get to Minsk this goods through Azerbaijan.

And thank you to the seller for having understated the estimate to almost $ 18,

provided that this product costs $ 37.44.

And today at us on unpacking and a review here such

bluetooth-speaker from company "Venstar", model S404.

The Bluetooth speaker for the bike comes in such a dense cardboard box.

All in film, brand new from the store. We open it.

Elegant packaging. Even to give it is not a pity to itself.

And remove the film.

Wow! How huge it is! And so, in the kit ...

Warranty card from the manufacturer,

the instruction in English, and what is surprising, in German,

is pretty detailed, in the setup, with illustrations.

Of course, I will certainly study it in great detail, because

there are hidden functions here, some buttons have

a dual purpose. Plastic fastening.

This is the part that is attached to the steering wheel, also plastic.

Key and 2 screws for attaching the mount.

A metal carbine.

Minijack-microUSB cable for AUX-input.

Also USB-microUSB charging cable.

2 clamps, console, or as it is called, a controller.

It is attached with Velcro to the steering wheel closer to the flu.

Here is a cord in a fabric braid and a minijack.

And of course the speaker himself. It's gigantic and looks gorgeous!

That's it, not a poor kit.

All cables from the kit: this one, this one, and even a cord to the control panel about 1 m in length.

The speaker is overall, 93 mm long, and 70x65 mm in cross section.

Loudspeaker grilles with perforation. They are made of plastic. They are modeled S404 and the designation that it is

a bluetooth bike speaker.

The speaker is covered with gray rubber.

And here, the model of dynamics, the charge voltage of 5V, 1A,

the fact that it is produced in China, as well as the official site of the manufacturer are engraved with embossing.

This speaker combines several functions.

In addition to being a bluetooth speaker, it also has a built-in radio with a built-in antenna, that is,

an external antenna is not required here.

There is also an mp3 player, that is, playback from an external storage device, more precisely from a microSD card

and a Handsfree function, there is a button for answering a call,

and also a bicycle call for signaling when driving.

On the left side of the controls in the front there is a metal nut for attaching

the complete carbine.

It is used when wearing, for example, a column in a hike on a belt or a backpack.

On the right side under the rubber protective cover there are connectors:

microUSB for AUX-input and for charging the built-in battery,

indication LED,

microSD card slot

and minijack input for connecting the control panel.

The case of the bluetooth-speaker is rubberized, it is waterproof, it can be used of course in the rain,

but it is recommended after wiping off the rain zone,

wipe dry with a napkin.

Unscrewing the 3 screws with a thin hexagonal key,

removing this plastic strap,

found that under the rubber bicycle speaker is plastic.

By the way, here, you will see, here is this radio antenna, an ordinary copper wire.

Lattices on the speakers are also made of plastic and fixed with the help of latches.

2 screws on each side. Plastic grid on the speakers,

or rather, the side faces of the body.

I shoot and here I find small speakers.

It's like a coaxial one, here's one rubber suspension and here's the second one.

The inner diameter is 25 mm, and the outer diameter is 40 mm.

On the reverse side of the same speaker.

Well, here are the control buttons under the rubber.

I will not disassemble further, because there is a management board and that's it.

I watched one of the videos, there is a complete disassembly. Installed 2 mounting boards

of amplifiers, but the truth here is not a stereo amplifier, it's mono, they are paralleled.

Indeed, it is completely plastic, two-tone plastic.

The only metal part is this hook for the carbine.

To fix the speaker on the steering wheel, we use a complete fixing on the steering wheel.

This is a standard plastic bottle mount.

It is fixed on the handlebar with complete screws with nuts and with the help of this hex key.

Dimensions of the speaker are not very modest, so when mounted on the steering wheel it looks very cumbersome,

but in this case, all playback control buttons,

as well as a bicycle call are available.

Using plastic complete ties

allows you to mount the speaker anywhere in the bicycle frame, but the mount is unreliable,

the speaker hangs.

Optimal for a solution I chose to mount the speaker in place of the bicycle bottle,

although in this case it is somewhat difficult to control the volume,

but all the main functions of the speaker can be controlled from an external complete remote.

This rubber protective cover, covering the interface,

has a separate section, which can be bent and used by

the connector from the external control panel.

The remote is mounted on the steering wheel near the grips.

Right-handed is generally convenient, as the bicycle control button is located just under your thumb.

And the remote is attached with a sticky tape.

You can easily change its position.

It still looks so tolerably, if you swap the DVR and bicycle speaker.

The inclusion of a bicycle speaker is carried out by the combined button "Power / Mode".

Long press includes.

To control the bike speaker on its top there are 6 buttons.

The first button is a bicycle call.

A short or long press is a signal.

Double click to switch signal type.

The bell signal is triggered in any mode of operation of this speaker.

The purpose of the next two arrow buttons is to adjust the volume and switch tracks.

Very multifunctional button "Play / Pause".

Its main purpose is to enable playback, pause and enable / disable voice prompts.

In the mode of Bluetooth connection or playback from a microSD card,

this button is responsible for pause and further playback.

A long press on this button switches the folders on the microSD card.

In the FM radio mode or connecting an external source via * microUSB,

this button is responsible for muting sound and further restore volume.

A long press on this button provides an automatic search for radio stations.

At the same time, the LED starts flashing like this.

The voice prompts are controlled

at the first moment, when the bicycle loudspeaker is turned on, when another bluetooth device is not connected.

If the bluetooth device is automatically connected, you need to break this connection.

Next, we hold down the "Play / Pause" button,

the voice prompts are turned off. Now, when switching modes,

we hear only a sound signal.

To restore the voice prompts, you need to hold down this button again.

I check.

A short press on the "Mode" button switches the source.

If this button is held for longer than 8 s, then the speaker is reset to the factory settings.

The latter, also a multifunctional button

with a handset, is the answer or the end of a telephone call.

It works if the smartphone via bluetooth is connected to this speaker.

To answer an incoming call in any mode, you need to press this button once.

To stop the negotiations, at the end of the conversation also press this button.

To end a call in any mode, you must long press this button.

Double click on this button will dial the last called party.

In bluetooth mode, a long press on this button

ensures that the bluetooth connection is disconnected.

Here, on the top, there is also a single LED indicator

of such a blue glow.

For conducting telephone conversations there is a built-in microphone in this hole.

Similar to the control buttons on the speaker itself,

the control buttons on the remote control also have dual functions.

A single click on the bike bell button will cycle the bike.

Long hold is a long cycle signal.

Double short-click on this button allows you to change the signal itself.

The "Play / Pause / Lift the Tube" button in different modes behaves differently.

In playback mode, this button is responsible for the pause / play modes.

In playback mode from a microSD card,

a long press on this button changes the folder, or more precisely, the directory on this microSD card.

Double-click to select the playback source:

microSD card,

FM radio,

bluetooth device.

The leftmost third button is the rewind of tracks forwards or backwards.

Pressing once is the next track.

Long hold is the previous track.

Also, this remote has a microphone, that is, when using it,

your voice will come to the subscriber from this microphone.

The attached instruction mistakenly states that when a remote control panel is connected,

all control is exercised only from the control panel.

That is, these buttons should not work, but it is not.

Here you can switch tracks and modes of operation.

Also here you can do the same.

The only moment, the volume of playback, we can only control the buttons from the top of the speaker.

There are no such buttons on the remote.

This is a multifunctional device, and to get

acquainted with all the features of this bluetooth speaker, I recommend

reading this instruction.

For example, if you connect bluetooth, then in some devices you may have to enter

the password 0000, as indicated here.

The speaker has 3 modes - 3 signal sources.

When held - the inclusion of this speaker turns on the first mode - this is the bluetooth mode.

The speaker pronounces all modes in English.

The speaker goes into pairing mode, the blue LED flashes.

The Bluetooth speaker "Venstar S404" is equipped with a 4.0 + EDR bluetooth module,

that is, it is a protocol that speeds up a bluetooth connection somewhat.

Among bluetooth devices, we detect "VENSTAR S404", connect to it.

Such a special sound signal - the speaker is connected.

The second mode, when you click on this button, is playback from a TF card.

When a microSD card is connected in this way,

the formats mp3, wma, wav, ape, flac are supported,

this mode is automatically turned on,

and playback starts from the memory card.

Only music files and FAT32 and exFAT file systems are supported. NTFS is not supported.

Some users will be important.

There is such a moment that when playing from a memory card of a track,

when you turn off

and then turn on the speaker, again we select the TF card mode,

playback starts from the stop, not from the beginning of the track.

I understand that this moment is important to those who listen through the speaker of an audiobook.

And the third mode is FM radio.

To tune the FM radio, you need to hold down the "Play / Pause" button for a while.

It will automatically scan the entire FM band

and remember the tuned stations. After passing through the entire FM band,

the speaker will turn on the last tuned radio station.

Switching tuned radio stations using the arrow buttons.

The bundled cable is not just a charging cable, but also a data cable.

When connected to a computer, the bike goes into the data exchange mode,

and we see the files, that is, we can write directly to the microSD card from the laptop

without removing it from the speaker.

When connected via USB, no external device will be detected by the dispatcher, that is,

no sound card is built into the cycle speaker.

The laptop will detect the external connection, that is, the USB CARDREADER controller is called it.

When you connect the AUX cable, here minijack, then the microUSB

speaker automatically switches to AUX mode,

and you can play music from your computer through the speaker.

This is a bicycle speaker and its main purpose is to play music in open space,

where the high-frequency spectrum is absorbed.

High frequencies are also, but they are not so bright.

Let's now connect via bluetooth and evaluate the acoustic capabilities of this speaker.

Well, we will certainly be evaluated on various musical genres.

And so, drove!

Normally, it "knocks" at maximum volume.

You can compare the sound with the speaker "Gaciron" I have,

the review on which I will also place somewhere on the screen.

I will add the volume.

Here high frequencies will be brighter.

And this is the maximum volume.

Yes, the maximum.

Here is how this soundtrack sounds on «Venstar».

And again the speaker "Gaciron".

This speaker sounds quieter, its maximum volume level is lower,

but somehow it sounds cleaner,

other speakers are worth it.

And in this dynamics, as you have seen, loudspeakers on two rubber suspensions.

Also, this speaker is equipped, as it says here, with an intelligent power saving mode.

Well what does this mean?

If you do not play music for 10 minutes, there is no bluetooth connection,

the speaker will automatically turn off.

This is all done to save battery power.

If the battery is discharged, a beep sounds every half-minute, and after the third time,

the speaker automatically turns off the third signal.

And another such moment. Fully planted battery. Connect the charger. And the column works while charging.

The average charge current is 300 mA.

And somewhere around 9 hours, which is very long, I managed to charge up to 2551 mAh

with the declared 2600 mAh.

And at the end of charging, the LED went out.

After the first charge of the battery, this speaker worked at the optimum volume for playback in the room

for 15 hours in various modes. It is in bluetooth playback mode, with TF card,

radio and line input.

And we still believe the speakerphone mode, call the subscriber.

Looks like busy. Call back later.

Incoming call arrives. I answer.

- Hello.

- Hello.

- Hello. Where have you been?

- Why are you so poorly heard?

- Very bad?

- Generally sucks heard.

- Bicycle speaker check.

- Through a bicycle speaker or something? ..

- Yes.

- Sucks heard at all.

- I understand everything. Till.

- Come on.

As they say, no comment.

The main requirements for the operation of this speaker are

not to expose to high temperatures, strong magnets,

not to be lowered into the water, that is, the cycling station can work only under splashes, in the rain,

after which it is necessary to wipe it thoroughly with dry cloth.

Its features are an external wired control panel, called iFree,

also BAS technology, which will provide a better circular

balanced distribution of sound power

around the loudspeaker, which is equipped with two speakers on both sides.

As a result, this is probably one of the best speakers by the criterion of price-quality-functionality.

This column is provided by the Gearbest store, but it is quite possible to buy it on AliExpress,

it is also on eBay. Links will all be in the description.

And I thank you for watching. I'll see you soon. Till.
