Youtube daily Jan 15 2019

If you weren't already convinced that corporations control the federal government, look at the

administration's efforts to roll back fuel economy standards for cars.

This entire initiative was created, it was drafted, and it was executed by fossil fuel

industry types and the administration, Trump, gave them a rubber stamp for that kind of

approval.

This is, this is a disgusting story.

Okay.

Now you've heard me beat on, I try, as you know, I try to call balls and strikes.

I beat on Republicans, I beat on Democrats.

I beat on Obama quite a bit, but to his credit, he did have a plan to do something about oil

consumption in the United States.

His goal was to have it have oil consumption cut in half by saying that we want cars that

by 2025 can accomplish that.

Right?

Had it underway.

It was, you know, obviously working.

The oil industry then gets together secretly, very secretive, run by the Koch brothers by

the way.

We think, you know, if you look at the media now, it kind of looks like the Koch brothers

have become liberals because they want, they want people to be able to come across the

border and you go, what?

And you know what that's about.

They're just looking for cheap labor.

So here we have the Koch brothers that have secretly have this, this underway, and what

they're secretly trying to do is they're trying to say we can't, that we can double the amount

of oil, of fuel that an SUV uses.

And if we do that, we can do it by, by taking away these laws that Obama tried to push through.

And if we do that, we're going to make an extra 350 to 400,000 barrels of oil be sold

in the United States.

They've done, they've done the computation.

They say, if we roll this back, we're going to sell an extra 400, 400 million barrels

of oil.

Heck, with the fact, oh they say we can do this because why?

Because we're writing the laws, we're paying everybody and see that's, just so people understand,

that's 400,000 extra barrels of oil per day.

Per day, yeah.

Per day, not per year, per day, and when this new rule was announced and this administration

came out and said, listen, we're going to roll back fuel economy standards.

My first thought was I should slam my head into the desk, but second was obviously this

is going to benefit fossil fuel companies, but other than that, why in the hell would

they even?

What's the motivation there?

Because he's not going to make money off it.

You know Scott Pruitt who did it, he wasn't going to make money off of it, but it turns

out they weren't even the ones who wrote it and that's what, you know, New York Times

to their credit, did a phenomenal expose on this and it really was.

It was drafted by the Koch brothers groups and by ALEC working together.

But let's be clear about that.

The industry drafted the legislation and handed it to the to the people who had to make some

change.

Right.

They're the ones, the industry actually drafted every word of it, hand it to the bureau, to

the bureaucrats, hand it to the, you know, to the folks that should be doing what they're

supposed to do and looking over everybody's shoulder.

They hand it to them and those are the, and then it becomes the talking points.

I mean, that's exactly what happened here.

Drafted by the industry.

We see it in Congress all the time.

We want to see legislation change the industry drafts it themselves, word for word.

Gives it to some creep Congress person, that Congress person then puts it on the floor

and makes it into the discussion, but it's all drafted by the industry.

Interesting thing about this.

Their rationale for why they should do this is because we no longer have a fuel crisis.

That's the rationale.

We have a ton of oil out there.

We don't have to worry about anything.

So now's the time to change that law since we have so much out there.

Heck, with the future.

Right.

Yeah, we don't need to worry about the air pollution or the reduced asthma attacks and

heart attacks from increasing fuel efficiency, so instead, while the president is out there

on twitter every day talking about how low gas prices are, which yeah they're coming

down, which is great, but it's not going to be great when you suddenly have to buy twice

as much gas because your car's fuel efficiency just went from if it's an SUV from 15 miles

per gallon back down to the 8 miles a gallon that we saw with suv was built during the

Bush administration.

Alright, let's beat the hell out of Facebook right now.

Okay.

Let's, let's you and I beat the ever living hell out of Facebook.

I got to tell you somehting.

I, I've got facebook accounts, I'm closing them.

I mean I'm literally closing them down.

Okay, so facebook understands exactly what's going on.

They're participating in this campaign and they're actually allowing advertising that

they know is completely false.

Facebook understands that this is completely a sham, but the major campaigns that these,

the oil industry is running is through Facebook and they're telling people, here's their talking

point.

Gee whiz, Joe, you ought to have the right to choose whatever car you want to drive,

and there's some bureaucrat in Washington and Obama and matter of fact that they actually

have Obama's picture where they say, would you buy a car from this man?

In other words, they're attacking Obama for doing what he was supposed to do.

They're attacking the bureaucrats for doing what they're supposed to do.

In saying on this Facebook, get rid of Facebook.

I swear to God, get rid of it is become an absolute disaster, but at any rate, Facebook

is now saying, well, yeah, we kind of understand what we're doing and yeah, we're removing

this person because we don't like their political attitude.

We're removing this person because they're too progressive too liberal and too fringe.

We're removing this person because they're too much to the right, but we're going allow

industry to lie to the American public and we're going to participate in it.

What is your take?

Am I overreacting to this?

No.

Tell me if I am.

Because what happened is, you know, the Koch groups, ALEC, they funded these ads on Facebook

and more than a quarter of the public comments, because this was an EPA rule, you had to get

the public comments before you could kill it.

More than a quarter of them, more than 25 percent came directly from those Facebook

ads and those were all people saying, hell yeah, we want five miles per gallon.

We want two miles per gallon.

I want the freedom.

I want to buy the car I want, the freedom.

Yeah, bring the Hummers back to our streets.

You remember when I handled the tobacco, well you were a kid.

You'd started with me kinda I think when we started the tobacco litigation, but part of

this talking point back then was, damn it, don't let them take your freedom away.

If you want to smoke and kill yourself, you should be able to do that.

This is America.

This is the same kind of ad.

You know?

Nobody should be able to tell you what kind of car you want to drive.

Don't let them do that.

Vote to do away with these, with these limitations.

Facebook participating like you know, oh yeah, this sounds like, this sounds right, but we're

going to, we're going to take this person off of Facebook because what they said was

offensive to some nerd head working up in Portland, Oregon or wherever they are, and

that nerd had says, oh, we can't allow this to happen.

Isn't that how it works?

Yeah, and at the same time also leaking the data of tens of millions of their users and

illegally spying on them and letting other companies spy on them.

Facebook is Satan incarnate.

It is and I don't know why people aren't buying, I don't know why.

You know what you go there, it is, oh, here's Susie's birthday.

Here's the new truck Susie got for, I mean, come on man.

It's a vehicle that is a powerful vehicle.

Could be if the, I've lost confidence in, I don't know about you.

This story, when I saw this story, there were no surprises, but I was outraged.

I was outraged because of the juxtaposition of what Facebook is determining they're gonna

print, or they're not going to print versus you pay us enough money by God will print

anything.

Yeah.

That's what this is about.

Boxing Gym Serves As Community Hub - Duration: 5:28.

(upbeat hip hop music)

- [Deonte] Like I just remember how I was.

I was hot-headed, I had a bad temper.

I didn't wanna hear anything anybody had to say.

Dalton was making sure that I stayed in the gym,

making sure I got up in the morning, did my runs,

making sure I was just in the gym even if I didn't work out.

He just didn't want me on the streets.

Boxing showed me to really cherish life and cherish rewards

when you earn them and you work hard for them.

And that feeling that you get, that thrill, that excitement,

you wanna continue to have those types of highlights

and moments in your life where you're happy.

And boxing, it makes me happy.

- [Dalton] I started the business in 2011.

I graduated from college in 2009.

So in between that window, I was working various jobs

that I just didn't find any fulfillment with.

I decided to open my own gym and open an organization

that not only was just a boxing gym,

but also more to the community.

Element Gym is a co-working and

collaborative benefit corporation.

Boxing and fitness, and arts hub in the Midway, St. Paul.

The values that we started with consisted of community.

We wanted to develop community and bring people together

through the sport of boxing.

Whether you wanted to become a world champion

or you just wanted to learn the fundamentals

and use it for exercise.

Collaboration was another one of those values

that were very important to us.

Working with other organizations,

partnering with the county, partnering with the city,

partnering with other micro-organizations,

and our non-profits, we actually serve more than 500 youth

on a monthly basis through our programs

that we offer here in our space

and/or programs that we do off-site.

Left, left - can we do it fast

- A little slower, come on. Look you're open.

How you gonna do it fast if you're open?Come on,hands up.Go.

We do have a lot of minority youth.

At risk, underserved population of youth that come from

like the Frogtown area. The same community that I grew up in.

And they come here and we offer them scholarships.

Especially for the low income families that can't

afford our gym prices. We don't turn anyone away.

So we have a kids boxing class where our youth are

able to come in and learn fundamental boxing from myself

and or our other coaches.

Not only helps them learn a craft or a skill,

but it also helps them with their discipline.

It helps them bring confidence in themselves and build it

up to where they can use that crossing over into school

or crossing over into the work place.

So it challenges you.

It pushes you beyond what your expectations are.

And or what you think you can do.

And that's that drive and that's that

dedication that it takes.

When you really want something you gotta

put forth that effort no matter what obstacles are

in your way and boxing can teach you that.

I've seen a lot of changes with a lot of our youth,

who some are now adults.

They come back to me on a daily basis and they say how much

our gym has done for them.

Go hard guys! Push yourself, push yourself.

You should be tired when you get done.

If you're not tired when you get done you didn't push

yourself hard enough.

Ready?Go!

Come on. Give me that twist, good twist.

Three, two, one. Time, time, time. Good job guys.

Becoming a social benefit corporation was very attractive

because it allowed us the opportunity to showcase

our brand and showcase our mission.

All within a structured entity.

Being able to put that benefit corporation tag

on our name showed that we are bought in.

We are really about what we are trying to do.

And it helps hold us accountable to say that we are gonna

do what we say we're gonna do.

So when we say that we wanna create long term sustainable

programs, we make sure we create those.

And make sure that their showcased inside of the

work that we do.

There is a lot of misconception about, I think,

benefit corporations and or social enterprises, that

you can't focus on bottom line

in sense of social impact and profits.

I think that you can do both.

And I think that one compliments the other.

When customers or people see what you're trying to do

and they feel what you're feeling and their socially

conscious and they understand the impact that you're trying

to create, they feel a sense of belonging.

They actually want to contribute more.

They want to be a part.

They want to help out in any capacity,

beyond even being a customer.

I would say that social enterprise is the future of our

economy because the world depends on it.

I'm passionate about the work that I do because I came

from these same streets. I came from the same neighborhood.

I came from this community.

The same community that I'm serving.

The same youth that I'm serving.

I look at those guys and I see myself and I know that I

personally wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for

those same leaders, those same organizations

that existed to impact.

So I feel obligated to continue to do the work that I do.

And I feel that pursuing and continuing to drive my

purpose as a human being on this earth by trying to create

more and more impact. More and more programs.

More and more opportunities for our youth

of our future generation.

La Sultana | Recap (01/11/2019) | Telemundo - Duration: 15:15.

I wasn't expecting this.

I thought our father would rule for many years.

Such a cruel fate.

He ascended the throne when he was my age.

I wish you a long life, son.

I know my duty, Mother.

I'll ascend the throne tomorrow.

And you must know I'll never let you down.

I swear by Allah.

Someday you'll ascend the throne you deserve, Osman.

But not tomorrow.

What did you just say?

The tradition says I have to ascend the throne.

Even if you're my mother, you can't change that.

The sultan's eldest son must assume power.

Listen to me, Osman.

Mehmed, right?

He'll ascend the throne.

No, he won't.

Your uncle Mustafa will.

My uncle?

Majesty.

Majesty, return to the throne.

Open it.

-Majesty... -Open it.

Open it. Open it.

Allah, please,

help my son calm down.

Open it!

Majesty, sit on the throne.

Majesty, sit down, please. Majesty!

Ahmed...

Mustafa.

Majesty, return to the throne.

Now you're Mother Sultan.

I hope you realize the importance of your position

and act accordingly.

I'm aware of it, Kosem,

don't worry.

I'll do what's needed.

That's why, Kosem...

that you'll leave this palace at once

and go to Old Palace.

That's what tradition dictates.

What do you mean, Halime? We had a deal.

That's over now.

It's empty.

Humasah...

Where did they take him?

What did they do to my Prince?

Is it possible...?

Is it possible that Iskender is alive?

Allah, I hope so.

Allah, protect him.

Iskender, I won't kill you.

Hold your breath.

I made arrangements to get you out of here.

Don't return until you hear from me, okay?

Pasha.

Where is my son?

Tell me now!

Sultana, we must let Iskender

live a safe life far away from this palace.

Sultan Ahmed is dead.

The rules have changed.

The eldest and most mature must take the throne.

He deserves it.

You never change.

You're already thinking about taking the throne

instead of being happy about the news.

You dDon't leave us again.ikar.

Don't worry, Sultana.

As you can see, I'm fine.

Praise Allah.

Zulfikar spared your life.

I hope he won't find out.

I won't make that mistake again.

I'll let him think you're gone.

What are you going to do now?

Sultana,

I served this dynasty and Sultan Ahmed for years.

I never betrayed him.

Even so, despite the fact I've never acted against him,

he ordered my execution.

Kosem manipulated him.

Otherwise, the sultan would've forgiven you.

Now she's paying for her actions.

Kosem Sultan.

She thought I was a threat for her sons.

I've been loyal to her all my life.

I've always protected her.

My sultan has made a decision.

My innocence's over.

I'll take what's mine, Sultana.

It will be hard, but I've made a decision.

I'll take the throne.

I have a simple question.

Are you with me and my mother,

or are you against me?

Of course I'm with you.

You can always count on my support.

during the meeting.

You, your mother and your husband Davud Pasha

will accept it.

In return, I'll spare your life.

Are you listening to yourself, Kosem?

I don't want to shed any more blood.

Convince your mother and your husband.

Kosem.

Kosem!

Who do you think you are?

How dare you?

Dilruba will stay with us as our hostage for a while.

You don't need to worry.

What did you just say?

Are you holding my wife hostage?

The dignitaries and the royal guards are of the opinion

that Sultan Mustafa isn't fit for ruling.

Therefore...

Prince Osman will claim the throne tomorrow.

If you don't resist

and choose our side,

Allah willing, you'll see your wife

after the enthronement tomorrow.

Or else?

Or else...

you'll never see her again.

That's not going to happen.

If we back down, they'll destroy us

and everything we got so far.

That's why we must get rid of the princes tonight.

-At Dilruba's expense? -No.

We have no choice.

I wish we did.

Sultana... we can't do that.

We can't let her die.

Dilruba is your daughter.

And Mustafa is my son.

What's wrong with you?

You think they'll spare our lives

when we accept their terms?

They won't.

They'll kill us given half a chance.

He saved my princes.

He values Dilruba Sultan more than he values you, Halime.

What is she saying?

Agas.

Take Halime Sultan to the dungeon

and lock Sultan Mustafa up.

No! Stop!

-Mother. -Stop!

What's this? Mother.

Mustafa. Don't!

Mustafa, Mustafa!

-Mother! -Let him go!

That it was you who wrote the decree

that recommends that the oldest of the dynasty

takes the throne.

Is that true?

Answer me.

Where did you hear that? Who told you?

That's not important now.

Just answer my question.

Did you write it?

I had to do what was best for us.

For my siblings, but not for me.

You thought I'd kill them.

-We already discussed this... -Three months, Mother.

We were incarcerated like animals for three months.

And they also tried to murder us.

My siblings and I paid the price for your mistake.

Now it's your turn.

I don't understand. What price?

I won't let you return to this palace, Mother.

You will stay in the Old Palace where you used to be.

I never imagined you'd feel this way, Iskender.

that they didn't betray me, that they were innocent.

It's necessary to consult the assembly.

Don't forget we can never trust what people say.

That's why...

We need to take precautions, Your Majesty.

What else can I do, Lala?

You have a prince now, Your Majesty.

But if the dynasty's eldest becomes the next sultan,

he'll never be able to claim the throne.

That's why we need to amend the current law.

So that your son becomes heir to the throne.

But you didn't.

No.

No!

Get off me!

Let me go!

Osman!

No!

Let me go!

No!

Your Majesty!

No!

All I ask of Allah

is that he sinks your sultanate into ruins!

I hope it only brings you misery,

because you're a traitor and a murderer!

Mehmed!

Mehmed!

Everything I've gone through is because of you.

You ordered me to be executed knowing I was innocent.

You saw me as a threat for you and your children.

And now what?

One by one you're losing everything

you fought so hard for.

And as long as I live,

I'm going to make sure you keep suffering, Kosem.

That's why I ordered for you to be executed.

Sooner or later I'll take the throne, Kosem.

When that happens,

I'll kill all your children.

And you'll be left completely alone.

Who knows.

Maybe someday you'll have everything you want.

The throne and the empire may be yours,

but you'll never have me, Iskender.

How to Use Captions on YouTube ft. Jessica Kellgren-Fozard - Duration: 6:41.

Captioning and subtitling your videos

opens it up to a much larger

audience increasing both your

reach and engagement.

When your video is easy to understand,

it's also easy to share.

In this second video I'll be taking you

through exactly how you can

reach that wider audience.

Hi, I'm Jessica Kellgren-Fozard

and I'm a deaf YouTuber. On my channel

I make fun and chatty and

educational videos all about

deaf awareness, disabilities,

gayness, travel, fashion.

It's a whole load of things.

I also have cute dogs

who like to steal the show.

I went deaf in my teens, so I know

just how important captions are.

But, it isn't only deaf and hard

of hearing people who benefit

from captions.

As I explained in the previous

video, a huge amount of the

YouTube audience uses captions from

those in noisy environments,

sound sensitive environments,

people who've got processing disorders,

people who are learning English as

a second language, and of course

it's useful to you as a creator.

YouTube's own automatic

captioning has increased

dramatically since it was first

rolled out.

They're currently also available in English language livestreams

for channels that have over 10,000 subscribers.

The technology has now come so

far, that it's apparently just short of the human

transcription error rate.

If automatic captions are

available in your video, you can

review and edit them at anytime to make

them more accurate.

Just go to your Video Manager

and click on Edit, Subtitles/CC

next to the video that you want to edit.

And then click on the automatic

captions track.

Every time you

submit a correction or

suggestion to the track that YouTube has

created for you,

you're actually helping the

machine to learn.

If you find it faster though

making captions all by yourself, or you

know that you use a lot of technical words

the machines have great trouble

picking up on,

There are other options.

Here are the three ways you can

create your own captions tracks

Start from your Video Manager.

In the drop down menu next

the video you'd like to add a

captions track to, click

Subtitles/CC.

Select your language,

and you will have one of three options.

The first is "Upload a file".

This is for when you've already created a closed

captions file off site.

There are a variety of websites where you can do this

and there are some companies

that you can pay,

and they'll caption a video for you.

This type of file would contain

both the text and the time codes

for exactly when each line of

text should be displayed.

Some files also include position

and style information which is

particularly important for deaf or hard of

hearing viewers. The next is

"Transcribe and auto-sync".

This is a really great option

for videos that already have a script

or a voice over. Simply copy and

paste your script into the box.

Then just click "Set timings" and you're done.

This will take a few minutes as

YouTube's voice recognition

software automatically connects

the written word to the spoken.

Once they're ready your

new closed captions will be

automatically published.

You can then go in and edit them

if the time is a little off.

This option is a great time saver.

And finally "Create new subtitles or CC".

OK, this option is a little more

labor intensive, but it's a

really good option for free

flowing formats like vlogs and so on.

YouTube will give you automated timing blocks

where it recognizes that there is speech,

but you can turn this option off

if you don't like it.

Type your content into each box and if you

need to change when it starts

and ends, you can do so by

dragging the borders.

A great thing about this option

is that if you don't have time to finish

the whole video, you can save it

as a draft, and come back, finish

and publish later.

No matter which option you choose, please do remember to

include not just the spoken word,

but also audio sound cues such as:

Anything to help your deaf

or hard of hearing viewers, or just

those who've got the sound off.

If you only make videos as a

hobby, or you release them daily,

captioning them or can seem like quite a task.

You might also not be able to pay for

a service to do them for you and

that is where YouTube's amazing

feature community captions comes in handy.

Community contributions allow one or more of your viewers

to create not only a captions file,

but also transcriptions into

different languages for your

video. These are then submitted to

you to be checked, or your community

can review them for you.

That's actually the way I caption

most of my videos.

Before your community can submit closed caption files,

of subtitles, or even translated

titles and descriptions,

you need to turn the option on,

either for one video or for all of them.

To turn community contributions on with just one click,

go to your Creator Studio.

Select "Translations and Transcriptions"

in the side bar. Click that settings

wheel and then "Turn on for all videos".

There's also the ability to turn them on

just specific videos.

Go to your Video Manager.

Next to "Edit", click the drop down menu

next to your video and select "Info & Settings".

Under the video

click "Advanced settings" and then scroll down to where

you can select "Allow viewers to contribute translated titles, descriptions, and subtitles/CC".

Click "Save changes" and you're done!

After a viewer has submitted their translation or transcriptions,

YouTube will moderate it for spam or

inappropriate content. You can manage it

by reviewing, editing, publishing, flagging

or just rejecting it.

You can also allow your Community just to

review the content for you

and it will automatically be

published once enough people

have said it's ok.

Currently, people watch videos with automatic captions

more than 15 million times a day

and the number of videos with

them on YouTube is an

astonishing 1 billion.

Don't let your channel get left

behind.

Make sure these videos are

captioned and you're reaching

the widest audience possible.

I hope these two videos have showed you just how

important captions are.

They're an invaluable tool for audience expansion,

viewer engagement, content retention,

improved video discovery and of course improved SEO.

If you'd like to know more about captioning YouTube videos,

I have a dedicated playlist on my channel.

If you'd like to learn about other areas

of making YouTube videos,

then stay on the YouTube Creator's channel

to find out more.

⚡Cell Differentiation & Specialisation - GCSE IGCSE 9-1 Biology - Science - Succeed Lightning Video⚡ - Duration: 1:29.

SucceedSchool.com. Learn to Succeed. Cell Differentiation and Specialization.

You were once just a single fertilised egg cell; a zygote. This single cell began

to divide by mitosis, making identical copies of itself, forming the ball of a

few identical cells called an embryo. These cells eventually became the huge

variety of cells present in your body today, but they all started out the same.

We say they were undifferentiated. Eventually these cells began to

specialise for different functions. We say they became differentiated,

controlled by genes turning on and off. Most of the cells in your body are

differentiated and specialised, though even as adults most animals continue to

produce a very small number of undifferentiated stem cells which can

divide into other types of cells. These may lead to medical breakthroughs in the

future. Specialisation make cells better suited

to specific jobs, with unique sub- cellular features. Muscle cells can

contract, making them good for moving things. Nerve cells are very long, making

them good at transmitting signals. Sperm cells have a tail, allowing them to

propel themselves. Ciliated epithelial cells have tiny hairlike structures to

sweep dust, bacteria, and mucus back out of the lungs. Unlike animals, many plant

cells, found in the meristems, are able to differentiate throughout the life of the

plant. Plants also have specialised cells, including root hair cells with large

surface area for absorbing water, and no chloroplasts because they get no

light. Xylem cells, which lose their end walls to form a lignin-strengthened tube

for transporting water and minerals. And phloem cells, which form sieve tubes and

companion cells for transporting food. For a more detailed explanation of cell

differentiation and specialisation please click this video. To see the whole

Powerful Panel Discussion Tip #182 with Patricia Fripp: How to Answer a Poor Question - Duration: 1:19.

What is your strategy to answering or avoiding poor questions?

Okay, well you can say, "Kristin, what I believe you might be saying is" and you

rephrase it with some clarity, or "Kristin, I expected you would have asked me a tougher

question such as this."

And again, this is part of your preparation in your back pocket.

And very often, of course people don't ask questions, they say "well I think bah bah,

bah, bah, what do you think?" and then I would say "I can understand your point of

view Kristin, however, there is a much bigger question that we don't ask because it's

tough" and then you lead it that way.

So you acknowledge it but you really don't respond to it.
