Hello. So, it is the end of January
and therefore we're gonna do a favorites video.
I actually don't have too many favorites this month
compared to the previous month.
January was pretty much just mostly
catching up on everything work-related at the news station
and on my own website, which I will have a link
for down below, because it's new and it's awesome
and just other stuff, really.
First, we have this little Pokéball necklace
that I got as a Christmas present
from a subscriber-turned-friend.
We met each other in person
at the accessibility summit at YouTube Space Los Angeles.
She knows how much I love Pokémon,
I am completely Pokémon'd out right now,
Pikachu, Pokémon trainer t-shirt, this,
I'm a walking Pokémon billboard.
But it's really cute and small and I like it.
I have two Pokéball earrings
so I may as well have this to go with it.
And now that I have found my library card, again,
I went to the library a couple days ago
and checked out a lot of books.
And out of that, I decided to first read
"Full Frontal Feminism" by Jessica Valenti.
Val-en-TI? Val-EN-ti?
I don't know how you pronounce this last name.
I've been wanting to read more social issue material.
The library doesn't have that much.
I think I actually picked this up
the last time I went to the library,
which was about a year ago,
but I never finished it.
I'm not that far into it,
I'm actually on page 81.
I'm on chapter five, which is called
"If These Uterine Walls Could Talk".
So that sounds very interesting.
If you're already a feminist,
this is one of those books that's not gonna be totally,
"Oh my gosh, I never knew this".
It's probably gonna be a lot of agreement.
And it seems to be a little bit completely intersectional
but maybe not completely,
but like I said I haven't gotten that far into it
so who knows.
What I really like about this book so far
is that I found out a lot of things that I didn't know.
It didn't occur to me until I started reading this book
that in 22 states, at least when this was written,
it was still legal, in 22 states, if you are a rapist,
you get parental rights should the thing result in a child.
And this one wasn't completely news,
but you still are not allowed by to
buy vibrators in some states.
Virginia does not allow this, apparently.
At least at the time that this was written.
Virginia's my neighbor, so that was news to me.
So, a lot of it I already knew,
but so far there's been a few things
that I haven't learned yet and I'm very interested
in what the rest of this book is gonna bring.
By the way, if you have any more feminist material
that talks about history and whatnot,
leave them down in the comments.
And I'm gonna add them to my Goodreads account.
My bookshelf, whatever.
And then my biggest favorite has been
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer".
A lot of people I know grew up with it,
I remember watching it,
but I don't think I've ever seen the entire series as a kid.
But do not quote me on that,
I just remember seeing a couple of episodes on TV.
So I've been watching it
from beginning to finish on Netflix.
I am only about halfway into season three,
so there's some stuff that I remember that's going to happen
and then a lot I don't know, I think.
Anything past season four, I really don't remember at all.
A couple of things that have been bothering me
about this show this far:
I don't understand the Xander and Cordelia thing
and I really, really don't understand
the Xander and Willow thing
while the Xander and Cordelia
and the Willow and the Oz thing is happening.
That just grinds my gears.
Like, Xander, you had no romantic interest in Willow
whatsoever, and then all of a sudden like that...
(snaps)
Oh, okay, you have sudden interest
and now you're cheating on your partners with each other.
Ugh, gosh.
I'm also very interested in seeing exactly how Willow
likes Anya considering Anya was a big old demon
but I know I'm not there yet, I will,
but I'm not there yet, so, okay.
And I remember that Buffy gets together with Spike,
I'm pretty sure.
And let's add in a fourth one just because.
My new website, deafpoynters.com.
It's an article, like an online magazine kinda website,
if you will, very plain looking compared to other ones
because I have no website creativity
and talent whatsoever so it looks fairly plain, but um.
So far, three posts are up, three, yes.
The introduction,
information on Lights, Camera, Caption!,
and a captioning template.
A how-to ask YouTubers to caption their videos
email template.
So for those of you who have been asking me tips
on how to ask people, Template. Go find it.
And that's it, it's been a very chill month, I guess.
If you ignore some of the things
that have been happening this month.
Let me know in the comments down below anything
that you've liked this month.
We can talk about Buffy, let's talk about Buffy,
let's talk about Buffy.
At least the first three seasons of Buffy.
If you wanna follow me on all my social media,
links to that will be down below.
If you wanna help support my content,
you can do so by being a patron on Patreon
and you get monthly perks,
or you can leave a one time tip on ko-fi.
Both links will be down below.
I upload every Monday and Thursday unless otherwise stated,
and I will see you later, bye.
