A popular phone app is facing questions about whether it does enough to protect children

from predators.

The app's called musical.ly.

It allows users to create short video clips of themselves dancing and lip-syncing to songs,

and it's used by many young children, but some parents have warned that this app, it

can put children in danger by allowing anyone to follow and message them.

Last year, a father in the United Kingdom detailed in a series of Facebook posts that

a stranger had been sending sexually explicit messages to his eight-year-old daughter.

Other parents have reported similar stories.

Here to talk about that and the company's responsibility, their legal responsibility

to protect its younger users, is Mollye Barrows, a legal journalist with The Trial Lawyer Magazine.

Mollye, what is this app?

You're seeing bits and pieces in the media finally.

Yes, it's interesting.

There are a lot of apps like it.

You've got musical.ly, which is essentially, it started out as an education app, but when

it wasn't a financial success as an online education tool, the organizers, creators of

this app turned it into basically an online entertainment tool where they partner with

various music companies to get their music out, so kids can choose from a list of songs

and create 15-second short little music videos.

Well, some of these songs are pretty risqué, so these kids are in essence making adult

content.

They're dancing provocatively.

They're singing along to lots of lyrics that have foul language, and maybe support a gangster

lifestyle, if you will.

A lot of parents don't like it for that reason, because it's easy for kids to access and behave

poorly.

The way it's set up with these likes, it almost becomes addictive for these kids to interact

and like each other's videos, so that ups the ante.

They perform more and more outrageous things to get the attention, and then it's easy to

go down the rabbit hole.

There's also some extremely adult-made and adult-created content that includes pornography

and other acts of violence that these kids don't have a hard time finding, even when

they're on there.

Now, the company says kids under 13 aren't allowed to use the app-

But what does that mean?

I mean, you see that all the time.

Not much.

I mean, the company understands.

Of course.

There's no question, this company clearly understands that this note about well gee,

if you're under 13 you can't use it.

Company's part of this anyway.

What are major concerns about how children are using this app?

What are the big concerns?

So many concerns.

Again, who's monitoring them?

These companies want to put it back in the parents' laps, but going back to musical.ly,

when they say no kids under 13, they don't even require you to put your age in there,

so how are they really going to know?

Then you have other apps like Kik, K-I-K, which don't even require you to put a number

in there, so you can register as an anonymous user.

40% of the kids who use that app are teenagers, so a lot of these entertainment apps are geared

towards kids.

The concerns are that they're going to be exposed to predators, that they're going to

embarrass themselves at the least when they get old enough.

Maybe they're making some content that shows up when a future employer is trying to research

them and see what comes up when they Google their name, so when you're 13 and you made

this inappropriate little video, that could come back to haunt you.

Then on the other worse end of the scale, you're opening them up to being targeted by

predators.

These companies are essentially, there's not a lot of regulation.

The strongest rule that we've got right now in the United States is something called the

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act- Which means nothing.

No.

I mean, it's just absolutely nothing.

Well, because again, it's saying if you're deliberately marketing to kids under the age

of 13 then you need to abide by these rules.

Well, all it does is encourage these companies to avoid creating apps that actually create

good content.

Kids that are required to go and put their age in are going to lie.

Some of them have to get parental consent, and these companies, and you talk to them,

even the president of musical.ly, he did an interview with another media source about

a year ago and he said, 'Hey, we're trying to work with parents.

We get feedback from parents all the time.

We want to make this safe,' but the bottom line is money.

Yeah.

Got about 30 seconds.

What are the legal challenges against ... that should be put forward on this, or what have

we seen so far?

Not a lot, because it's where do you find the hook to file the lawsuit?

Where do you prove the damage?

These companies, again, are trying to put it back in the laps of parents.

Oh well, you know we've made it so that they have to get parental permission, and even

this rule says we're trying to give parents the control that they need to monitor their

kids, and they all put it back into well, parents should be paying attention, but the

bottom line is it's almost like the old thing when Camel was marketing cigarettes to kids

with cartoons.

You know kids are going to use it.

What steps are you taking to help even when parents aren't watching?

Corporate mentality at work again.

Get More Clients by Growing Your YoutTube Channel - How to Build Your Small Business - Duration: 7:08.

By now, as a small business owner, you know the benefits of using video on your website

for your business.

But have you thought of the benefits of also running a full-fledged YouTube business channel?

Let's go ahead and look at those benefits and I'll also give you two great resources

to help you with your YouTube channel growth.

I'm Naomi Skarzinski with the Top Shelf VA channel, your place for creativity and

inspiration for business and life.

Now, if you're new to the channel, please take one second and click on that subscribe

button, click on the bell icon, and check notifications for Top Shelf VA.

You'll be the first to receive a quick notice when I load a highly informative or fun video

for your viewing pleasure.

Okay, a year ago, I discussed the four types of videos you could start adding to your website.

Those four videos were explainer, testimonial, product or services, and tutorial videos.

I've provided the link to that video in the description below.

So, let's now talk about YouTube.

Google is the largest search engine in the world and they own YouTube, which is the second

largest search engine in the world.

Since we know video is necessary for growing our business

and YouTube is the second largest search engine, it makes sense it would be beneficial to have

a YouTube channel.

Now, you might be thinking there's so much work that goes into a YouTube channel.

That can be very true.

It takes so long to build up a subscriber base.

That can also be very true.

You may also think it's not worth the time and investment needed to build a YouTube channel.

Well, that would be false!

Let's think about that for a second and look at some of the benefits of having a YouTube

channel.

You establish a portfolio of your business' services or products.

You establish yourself as having the knowledge and expertise about your products or services.

You have a central location to answer your clients' or potential client's questions.

Your videos will have a higher likelihood of being found on YouTube than if they were

only on your website's servers.

You can use your videos on YouTube to direct people back to your website.

And the biggest benefit is your YouTube channel has the potential to bring in more revenue

to your business than your website alone.

Did you get that?

Your YouTube channel has the potential to bring in more revenue to your business.

I'm not talking about the dribble of passive income from YouTube ads.

That would require a massive number of subscribers and views.

What I am referring to is the number of people who come through your business' doors because

they saw your videos.

That can easily happen if you have 10 subscribers or if you have 500 subscribers.

Let me give you an example.

When I had only 14 YouTube subscribers, one small business owner saw my videos, and decided

to become my client.

That client stayed with my business for two and half years and paid for a total of 295

hours of services.

By the time I had 478 subscribers, I had brought in three more clients from my YouTube channel

for a total of nearly 500 hours of revenue.

Two of those clients are still with my company and I'm still earning revenue from them.

In addition, my current clients have seen the growth of my YouTube channel and are starting

to work on their own videos using my services.

The moral of the story is, you don't need a large YouTube channel to start seeing additional

revenue coming into your business.

Now, if you don't have a channel yet, or you have one and need to make it better, then

I have those two resources for you.

The first resource of course is my services.

I can help you get your channel set up and ready to go,

handle video editing, search engine optimization, transcriptions, tags, descriptions,

titles, cards, and end cards, everything you would need assistance on.

Now, if you're not ready to have someone do the work for you and

you want to set up your channel and grow it on your own

until you can afford to hire someone, then I have another tremendous resource for

you.

This book, "Tube Ritual Volume 1: Jumpstart Your Journey to 5,000 YouTube Subscribers"

by Brian G. Johnson, is an absolute must have.

Now don't let that title fool you.

Yes, the book definitely focuses on building a channel fast; however, not all channels

are equal in their niche and some will grow faster than others.

As a small business owner, what to really focus on in this book is the extremely sound

advice Brian gives on building a solid foundation for your channel.

That's the true key.

By incorporating most of his advice here, you will be able to build a strong channel

from scratch.

If your channel grows quickly, fantastic.

If it grows slowly and you are consistently bringing in new clients for your small business

that is brilliant.

To me that should be the main key of your, main key performance indicator.

Brian will take you through understanding why creating engaging content will keep your

viewers coming back repeatedly.

Being able to determine your goals and your plan of action for your YouTube channel.

The nuts and bolts of a playlists and having great thumbnails to get more viewers' eyes

on your videos.

And also learning how to answer the "why" of your channel.

How to convert those viewers into subscribers and so much more.

Now, if you are a kinetic learner like I am, then I would also suggest two additional places

to be while reading the book.

The first is to subscribe to Brian's YouTube channel.

He's a little quirky but in a positive uplifting way.

I would also suggest joining his TubeRitual Facebook group and those links I've provided

in the description below.

Now, as one small business owner to another, I highly encourage you to build and grow a

YouTube channel to help build your business.

It definitely is what is needed today and will be integral, an integral part of business

for many years to come.

Have you thought about starting a YouTube channel for your business?

And, do you have one and if so, what benefits has your business gained from having one?

I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

As usual, the full edition of this report can be found on TopShelfVA.com.

Thank you so much for watching.

As always, this is Naomi with Top Shelf VA.com.

Until we meet again, have a wonderful day!

Firefighter FD 18 - 14 - Uchu HIKESHI - Duration: 25:52.

Concentrate on extinguishing the fire... so, no more survivor rescues?

Well... good thing he didn't bring that gun that he shot his computer with.

Holy crap *turning down speakers*

I'm going to fight this guy with my weapon...

... the impulse gun.

Just as Jason Hunt didn't bring his gun...

Dean McGregor didn't bring his axe.

Where did the axe go? Did he give it to Craig for safekeeping?

Anyway, Jason here is deathly afraid of human contact.

Opting to run if I get too close to him.

I can just bother him throughout this entire fight by staying close.

Then blast him with my impulse gun.

Water traveling at about 200mph coming out of my gun.

My socks would be rocked.

Of course, I don't have infinite ammo and will need to reload.

How do I reload this weapon, you might ask?

There we go... they just appear spontaneously once I run out.

Like... how does this look?

Two grown men playing chase with high-power technology on top of a large tank.

EXORCISED?

Rather than shooting, Senator decides that I should fight his bodyguard...

Who, interestingly enough, is also unarmed.

And despite being unarmed is somehow even stronger than Hunt.

Who sends an unarmed bodyguard to kill an impulse-gun-wielding firefighter?

I mean, basically, this guy is just asking for a bath.

However, he still holds his own...

Locking his arms in front to minimize damage taken by my impulse gun...

... and only takes damage once after making an attack.

Basically, he only takes damage when he feels like it.

Sounds a bit familiar, doesn't it? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The roles are reversed when I'm looking for impulse gun ammo, though.

Ironic symmetry in nature.

I have to wait for him to attack before I can damage him again.

I gotta play by his rules.

You don't get to be a bodyguard by following someone else's rules.

I'm sure that's how Whitney Houston's bodyguard used to do it.

Punching a firefighter in the stomach for 50% damage.

With... delayed grunts of pain?

We should be thankful he doesn't have Thundaga or demonic whirligigs.

Push his behind off the edge!

How does this look?

Two grown men playing chase on top of tank.

The one with high-powered technology is running away from the unarmed one.

He's walking.

I'm running.

Take a bath.

EXORCISED

The spear of karma is primed.

The blade of karma is strong... haven't you learned?

OK, so I've got my axe back.

(⊙‿⊙) Where was my axe during that entire section?

I don't have my hose, so this juggling flame is gonna be a real pain in the bum.

You can stop throwing embers anytime now plskthx.

Would you believe that there's a lost item here in 4-6A?

The lost item is over here, on the south catwalk.

Surrounded by unquenchable flames

I gotta go up here and walk past these juggling flames again?

Time to make our gallant escape!

Throughout this level, a slow-moving wall of flame will place unquenchable fire throughout the level.

Oil... I can't deal with this...

Combo lockers.

There are two lost items in this level...

... the first one in this corner.

The second one is to the left here...

... but where's that flame wall going to go?

Oh dear!

How did I survive that?

Deceptively enough, the damage taken here is set to the Easy damage rate.

But I can still die, hence the health packs.

... and just walk in between those boxes.

I thought I had to break them for the longest and couldn't stop dying because of it.

It was fine. More of an excuse to listen to this great music track.

Is this last survivor metaphorically me?

Victory strut. Just finished Firefighter FD 18 on hard.

Death Montage.

Oh no. I'm sorry for this lol.

Let's talk about this guy.

His plan to kill a firefighter was to cause a large fire.

When he could have concealed a gun in numerous places.

Obviously, the gun would be effective, as our hero takes 25% damage from a single punch.

This would be like trying to kill a clinician with household chemicals.

Tighter timing is necessary to get past that first incinerator and not have to wait.

When to not cross the street: when an emergency vehicle is approaching.

Post-game discussion in the description below the video.

Let's look at all of the lost items to confirm that I got them all.

Uh...

I didn't actually get that item in 4-4C.

How to Become Rich - Duration: 3:51.

Hi! I'm Sharon Jurd and welcome to my Biz Blitz video.

I want to talk to you about how to become rich.

Now I'm not here to talk about what rich means; whatever rich means to you,

that could be monetary, that could be health, that could be wealth,

that could be in time but you need to become rich in whatever you are striving for in your life.

And the three things I want to share with you today is how people become rich.

Firstly, it is how you use your time.

Everyone has twenty-four hours in a day but if you want to become rich you have to utilise your time in the areas that you need to succeed.

They say that everyone has time but it's just your priorities.

When people say to you, "I don't have time." No, no, no they do have time it's just that they've prioritised other things.

. So get your priorities right in your time to become rich.

Secondly, the other saying that I hear a lot is "the more you learn, the more you earn", and I truly believe this.

don't mean a certificate on the wall from doing a Ph.D.

They have their place and they are required but sometimes people put too much emphasis on a certificate on the wall.

And I've had this conversation with a number of people going,

"You don't need the certificates on the wall because there are other learnings that you can share

with people that don't have a certificate that are more powerful,

change people's lives moreso and make a bigger impact on the world at large.

Don't worry that you've learned something that doesn't have a certificate to it.

If you have learned something, go out and share that with people.

Keep learning and then you will earn more.

Thirdly, you must think like a rich person. You must think and behave that way.

People say to me, "I want to be a successful business person".

They look at successful businesspeople and see how are they behaving.

Some people have said to me, "I get up now and get dressed like I'm going to work",

I have cleaned up my office and made it tidy and workable. I'm not working in a load of crap

around me because a highly successful person wouldn't have that crap around them

in their own definition of success." You act like somebody who is rich.

If you want to get more time in your life, schedule that personal time for you in your ideal weeks,

if that's where you want to become rich. If you want to become rich around your family and friends,

schedule that time and make sure that it's allocated and it's a priority for you.

So there are my three things today. How do you become rich? They are, how you use your time.

Utilise your time, make it a priority for you and never say that you don't have enough time

because all of us do. It's just what's important to you at the time.

Secondly, learn, learn, learn. The more you learn, the more you earn.

You can share that out with everybody.

And thirdly, you must think like somebody who is rich and act that way and behave that way and then the universe will bring you more of that richness.

So that's my three points for you today. I'm Sharon Jurd.

Thank you so much for listening to my Biz Blitz video.

If you think this would be of value to your family, friends or colleagues, please share this out to them.

I want to reach as many people as I can and I hope that you'll help me do that.

Thank you and I'll talk soon.
