Boss, let us live please! [Hello Counselor / 2017.06.26] - Duration: 10:21.

Depending on a person,

this could be good or extremely bad.

My office is well-known for its family-like atmosphere.

It's thanks to my boss.

"For the team's unity and progress,"

"we'll have a get-together after work."

"The weather is gloomy."

"Let's have a get-together."

"What are you doing on your day off?"

"The weather is nice."

"Let's have a get-together."

"Let's have a get-together."

That's too often.

My co-workers and I are frustrated by his insistence.

"I can't join the get-together because I have a cold."

"A cold?"

"Alcohol will cure that. Come with me."

That day, I became sick with a cold and a hangover.

We have a get-together almost every day.

Please stop my boss.

(Please stop my boss.)

Do you like drinking?

- I like drinking, / - I see.

but my agency doesn't hold get-together often.

I wish we had more.

We had one get-together in the past two years.

- Everyone is busy. / - That's right.

(That doesn't suit me.)

How is your boss at a get-together?

He's really good at grilling meat.

(I saw him do it once, but he's really good.)

He'll keep grilling if you compliment him.

I complimented him a lot.

(He just ate while his boss grilled meat.)

Let's meet our guest and hear the story.

- Please come out. / - Please come out!

(Whose boss is addicted to get-togethers?)

(She's cute.)

(Kang Yoojin)

Be careful.

She slid down too fast.

(Is she hungover?)

It's quite steep.

Does he really drink with his employees so often?

I'm working at a used car dealership.

There are ten employees at the company.

The official work get-together is only once a month.

- Once a month? / - Yes.

However, we drink together 18 times a month.

- 18 out of 30 days? / - At least 18 days.

- 18 days at least? / - At least?

At first, he gathered us because we sold a car

or because it was our pay day.

- He had reasons at least. / - I see.

- Now... / - How about now?

"The weather is nice. Let's have a drink."

- "Today is Wednesday. Let's drink." / - Exactly.

- Like this? / - Yes.

Can't you just make an excuse to avoid it?

When I tell him that I have plans,

he asks me about thrice,

"Is that true? Do you really have plans?"

If I don't go, he holds grudge against me.

(He holds grudge if his employees miss a work drink.)

I see.

The next day, he keeps looking at my face and says...

(Next day, whenever he runs into her...)

"Were you that busy yesterday?"

(Were you so busy, you missed the get-together?)

- That would be uncomfortable. / - I see.

He says, "You look great. You must've had fun."

- "We had so much fun without you." / - Right.

- Like this? / - Yes.

Why does he drink with his employees so often?

He believes that drinking together is the only way

to improve team bond.

We drink about 20 bottles at the first bar.

- 20 bottles of soju? / - Soju?

That means each one drinks two bottles.

We drink another 20 bottles at the second bar.

- Oh, gosh. / - Does he let you come to work late?

He's always the first one to arrive.

- He has a healthy liver. / - He comes at 9 a.m. sharp.

- Healthy liver. / - That's why he can drink a lot.

He scolds us because we're late.

- He made you drink. / - Exactly.

Does he say, "We'll drink tonight since you're late."

- He says that sometimes. / - I see.

He says that we're weak-minded.

Who pays the bills when you drink together?

My boss pays most of the time.

- He doesn't pay sometimes? / - No.

- If someone sold a lot of cars, / - I see.

he makes that employee pay.

If it's my pay day he texts me,

"Thank you for paying for the next get-together."

- Is that true? / - Yes.

How many times out of ten does your boss pay?

- About six times. / - He pays just a little over half,

- and his employees pay the rest? / - That's unfair.

- He should pay every time. / - He should pay.

He should pay since he gathered them.

- If you gather people together, you pay. / - Exactly.

- Don't you agree? / - I don't get paid much.

I can't afford to pay 100 or 200 dollars at gatherings.

That's too much.

Exactly.

(How would you improve team bond like this?)

You're revealing the bad thing about your boss.

- Would you be all right after this? / - Right.

- He easily holds grudges. / - Will you be okay?

To be honest, I'm a little afraid,

but my health comes first.

(I should save my life first.)

- So I mustered up my courage. / - For your health.

It's for her health.

- You're here to maintain your health. / - Yes.

Let's meet her boss and hear him out.

Where are you?

- Hello. / - Hello.

She told us about her concern.

- Yes. / - Can you understand her?

Honestly, I can't fully understand her.

He's always like that.

All the time.

I don't think she can get any more than 50 votes.

Used car dealers change jobs frequently.

I started drinking with my employees

to help them bond with each other.

As they liked it, I came to drink with them more often.

- He's the only one who likes it. / - You think...

Did you just call him sweetie?

- Are you dating him? / - No, I said "he".

- The way I see it... / - She said "he".

It looks like

there's something going on between the two of them.

(Is there something going on between them?)

(She strongly denies it.)

- I'm offended. / - Our guest...

She just said,

- "I'm offended." / - Right.

Even though she doesn't feel that way for him,

it might be one of the reasons why he wants to

- Right. / - drink with his employees so often.

- Let's ask him... / - Are you married?

(Are you married by any chance?)

- Yes, I'm married. / - You are?

I apologize.

- I see. / - However...

Why did you jump to a conclusion?

(He's embarrassed.)

You drink with them three to four times a week.

- Don't you think it can be stressful? / - Right.

Mostly, when we drink together,

I go home after having a few drinks.

- It takes some time to do that already. / - Right.

Your employees drink more?

Yes, they drink more without me.

When we drink together,

we get excited as we get drunk.

- Of course. / - So we drink some more

after he goes home. That's true.

However, when he gets a little tipsy,

he tells us to go home, too.

- He can just leave. / - He wants you to leave, too?

- He wants to end the gathering? / - Yes.

When we say we're tired and want to go home,

- he says, "Gosh, you traitors." / - Oh, my.

- He's abusing his power. / - Exactly.

Why does he call you out on holidays?

Before I joined the company, my boss promised

he would never make me work on weekends.

So I joined the company.

We live in the same unit of an apartment complex.

Same unit?

- They're neighbors. / - That's too bad.

She can't refuse.

If I run, I can get there in four seconds.

- Four seconds. / - You two live very close.

He'd ask me on weekends

if I want to have a barbecue, so I have to go.

He'd ask me to grill meat so he can drink.

- I have a question. / - Go ahead.

- He's married. / - Right.

- He has a wife at home. / - That's right.

- I think she should be here, too. / - I think so, too.

Your wife must be worried.

Actually, I got divorced.

- You're divorced? / - Yes.

(Oh, my. I'm so sorry.)

- I'm sorry. / - Are you single now?

- Yes, I am. / - I see.

- He's single. / - See? I told you so.

What did I tell you?

(Dongyeop is so quick to catch on other people.)

No wonder.

- That's why... / - I had a feeling.

- It all adds up now. / - That's right.

- Please go on. / - That's why I can't refuse it.

- He's divorced. / - He keeps saying he has no friends,

- and no one to drink with. / - Maybe Dongyeop's right.

Don't you think he drinks with you

- because he has feelings for you? / - What is it?

As I said, that offends me.

- Please go ahead. / - She wouldn't know,

- but her boss / - He likes her?

might be hiding flowers and a ring behind him.

(He might be hiding flowers and a ring.)

- Sir. / - Sir, tell us the truth.

- Tell us the truth. / - It's not like that.

We don't drink alone together. Mr. Park drinks with us.

- When celebrities date someone, / - Right.

- they call their manager. / - Exactly.

(Oh, it's to fool other people.)

You joined them often, right?

I did. I thought Dongyeop had feelings for me.

(I thought I was the one Dongyeop liked.)

It turned out he liked my friend.

- Hang on. / - It was a long time ago.

(We all know that.)

Let's meet the other employees.

Welcome.

- Hello. / - Hello.

Are the three of you having a hard time, too?

Please tell us how you feel.

Okay.

- He sounds... / - He looks tired.

You drank last night, right?

Did you drink last night?

Yes, we did.

- Right. / - "Let's drink since we'll be on show."

He hates it when we don't drink shots in one go.

He always holds the bottle instead of his glass.

He holds it until we finish our glasses

to put pressure on us.

The real problem is that we sell cars,

but we reek of alcohol in front of our customers.

Our work is delayed, and we get complaints.

Likewise, drinking after work

- causes trouble. / - I see.

I'm 42 years old.

It takes me a long time to sober up.

That's so sad.

He must be worried the most.

I couldn't go to work once or twice.

My boss said I'm so weak when I drank so little.

He looks down on me.

While working for him for the past year,

I've gained 15kg.

(It's a serious problem.)

- Because of alcohol. / - Yes.

(The get-togethers damaged his health.)

- Drinking alcohol makes you fat. / - Goodness.

- It's a serious problem. / - You must've been skinny.

- Next... / - You look like you gained a lot of weight.

I gained over 10kg in the past 6 months.

- Really? / - As I gained over 10kg,

I have to buy new clothes every month.

(He buys new clothes every month.)

- Also... / - Every month.

- If I miss the gathering, he bullies me. / - My gosh.

- He excludes me during lunch. / - He holds grudges.

I think they gained weight because of

their lack of self-management skills.

- As for me, / - You don't give them free time.

- every morning, / - He has a muscular body.

I do some exercises such as squats

and push-ups for 20 minutes, and I sober up.

After I take a shower, I feel okay.

- So I tell them / - That's why he has thick arms.

to drink just as much as I am.

- That's because you're healthy. / - That's just you.

I used to work at a pharmaceutical company.

When I meet with my clients,

I drank until 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. and even 5 a.m.,

but I still came to work by 7:30 a.m.

- It's all a matter of attitude. / - But...

(Oh my gosh!)

Sister on extreme diet- skips meals for 3 days! [Hello Counselor / 2017.06.26] - Duration: 18:59.

She's struggling every single day

from a fight that seems to never end.

Hello.

The season to show off your body, summer has come.

My sister succeeded in losing 10kg

after making strenuous effort.

The problem is that her diet doesn't seem to end.

"Don't you think I've lost a bit of weight?"

"What about my waist?"

"I guess you did lose a bit of weight."

"Hey!"

(You!)

"Tell me the truth!"

"Tell me where and how much I lost weight!"

She's sensitive.

(The sensitive boss has come!)

"What's this smell?"

"Is that ramyeon? For goodness' sake!"

(Swearing violently)

"Are you eating again?"

"What did I tell you to do while I'm on a diet?"

"I told you not to eat anything at home!"

- Gosh, she's sensitive. / - She's sensitive.

(There's nobody more sensitive than her sister.)

I can no longer just watch my sister

who is becoming exhausted from her dramatic diet.

Please stop my sister's diet now.

(Sister! Stop going on a diet.)

- Women are always anxious about diet. / - Right.

- Many girl groups go on a diet. / - That's right.

- We lose 8kg to 9kg at once, / - It's true.

then we gain it back in three months.

- Isn't it bad for your health? / - It's bad.

That's why I developed atopic dermatitis.

My immune system got weak.

If you starve yourself,

take anorectic agents and use wrong methods to diet,

- your immune system becomes weak. / - Yes.

- That's right. / - Yes, my body type has changed.

(It's so tough.)

Please come on out!

(Who is suffering because of her sister's diet?)

(Kim Yoonjung)

(Hello!)

What is your sister's diet like?

It's quite extreme.

When she thinks she gained weight, she starves herself.

She only drinks water.

- Water for all three meals? / - Yes.

She eats five cherry tomatoes and two eggs for the day.

- In total? / - That's all she eats.

I was worried that she'd be malnourished,

so I fed her vitamins.

How nice of you. What happened then?

Since she took it on an empty stomach, she vomited.

- It's bad for your stomach. / - It's Vitamin C.

You mustn't take Vitamin C on an empty stomach.

(It's worth worrying about, right?)

Why is she on such a diet?

Is she very fat?

She lost 10kg from her diet in the past year.

- She weighs 53kg now. / - That's nice.

However, she wants to be skinny like me.

She wants to be skinny like female idol singers.

We're not that skinny.

(We're not that skinny.)

The two idol singers here are not skinny.

All the idol singers here are not skinny.

Is she planning on losing more weight?

She says she'll lose 5kg by next week.

- 5kg by next week? / - How is that possible?

- Exactly. / - What will she do? Eat nothing?

She works at a clothing shop in a department store.

- She mostly stands. / - She stands for nine hours.

She works while standing.

When she has free time, she does squats.

- She even exercises there? / - While standing?

After work, it takes about an hour

to walk home from the subway station.

She walks home after work?

- Yes, she walks home. / - She's incredible.

(Stop her.)

She's not asking you to go on a diet together.

Why are you unhappy with that?

I'm living with my sister in a studio flat.

- In a studio flat. / - I see.

That's why I bump into her every time.

- That's right. / - You keep seeing her.

When we have eye contact, she asks "Did I lose weight?"

"I think you really lost weight."

"Don't lie."

- "You say that soullessly." / - That's right.

"Why don't you get fat? You eat so much."

(She is blunt. It's like a torture.)

Her sister's constant remarks stress her out.

How do you eat?

You could end up starving yourself like your sister.

That's right. I can't eat at home.

- I go to convenience stores. / - Convenience stores.

- I eat there before coming home. / - On your way home,

- you eat what you want at convenience stores? / - Yes.

I tend to tell others to eat.

- "Please eat this." / - People have different styles.

Our road managers get fat when we're on a diet.

- I see. / - Yes.

(Apink likes their chubby managers a lot.)

Let's meet her sister. Hello.

(Who harasses her sister with the extreme diet?)

She's pretty.

Please stand up.

- You don't need to lose weight. / - Stand up.

- Show us. / - We'll give you an objective opinion.

Turn around like this

- just once. / - She looks healthy.

- You look pretty. / - You don't need to lose weight.

We don't think you need to lose weight.

No, I need to lose more. I want to be under 40kg.

(She's never been that light.)

- Gosh, that's bad for you. / - 40kg?

There must be a reason why you want to lose weight.

People say that one is prettiest in their 20s,

so I want to be prettiest at such age.

Like Hyuna or the actress Jung Hyesung,

I want to have a body that was born skinny.

Too bad you're already born.

Exactly. I weighed 98kg when I was 29 years old.

I want to be skinny.

- You're not convincing her. / - I was on a roll.

- You were on a roll. / - You were.

- She was... / - Why must you lose 5kg by next week?

- Is there a reason? / - What's happening next week?

Nothing like that.

I just think it's possible

- to lose 5kg in a week. / - It's summer.

You started so suddenly, though.

I danced for ten years.

- You danced. / - I did.

- I did street dance. / - Street dance.

- I did street dance. / - Strip dance...

- It's "street dance". / - I see.

(Is he lustful?)

It's "street dance".

Street dance.

- I knew I made a mistake. / - I did street dance.

I gained 10kg after I quit dancing.

When I worked at a mobile phone agency,

my boss and my co-worker called me a pig.

- They called me that way. / - Then...

I worked part-time as an extra for about six months.

The leaders asked if I was a track and field athlete.

"Your legs seem healthy."

At the department store, customers and co-workers say

that my legs look like elephant legs.

- Customers? / - "You have a hippo's hips."

"You must be born again to have skinny legs."

- They say these things. / - No way.

- They say those things? / - Customers say that?

I hear that stuff almost every single day.

- You get that even now? / - Yes, just few days ago.

It wasn't even a week ago when I heard it.

"My daughter is so skinny."

"It's so nice to see a fat person like you."

- Why would she do that? / - A customer said that?

No, the co-workers I work with.

They say those things.

- Do they only do that to you? / - It's worse to me.

I'm younger than them...

- It's because you're pretty. / - That's right.

Since the place is small,

I feel like I'm the target of the conversation.

When I was younger,

I was also stressed out about having a big face.

"Your face covers the whole sun. Step aside."

When I heard those things,

I didn't like it.

- I haven't seen Bomi's face once. / - Same here.

- You can't see Bomi's face. / - I can't see it.

What do you think after hearing your sister's story?

I think she's stressed out about her figure.

I knew it, but she relieves her stress

- by venting on me. / - I see.

- She takes it out on you. / - That's right.

- What does she do? / - She's hysterical.

When I'm eating something,

she'd ask if I'm eating again.

"Why don't you get fat? Why do I gain weight alone?"

She says things like that.

Do you relieve your stress on your sister?

First, she's the only one

I can talk to at ease.

- In fact, seeing her / - You're jealous?

frustrates me.

- She eats, but she doesn't get fat. / - She's skinny.

We have the same genes,

but she's tall and slim with a slender waist.

On the other hand, I think I'm fat,

so just seeing her makes me upset.

I get that, but she also finds

joy from eating at the end of the day.

You could get vicarious satisfaction from seeing

- her eat. / - I'd want to eat just by smelling food.

I have to starve myself,

so I hate situations that entice me to eat.

- Exactly. / - I'm afraid of eating.

(What's wrong with you?)

What do you do for a living?

I work for customer service at a credit card company.

- Gosh, that's tough, too. / - That's also

a very stressful job.

Some customers swear at me.

- They still do? / - Yes.

When I hesitate quietly out of fear,

some would say, "Hey, keep talking."

- People still do that? / - Yes.

- I don't get it. / - I can't believe

- there are people like that. / - There are a lot.

- There are a lot like that. / - How do you relieve

- your stress, then? / - I eat.

- You eat. / - By eating?

- She forbids you from eating. / - You can't eat.

You must relieve stress, but she doesn't let you eat.

How do you relieve it, then?

I can't de-stress because of her.

Gosh, what's wrong with her?

(She sounds really upset.)

Tell me what you eat when you're on a diet.

For lunch, I eat a banana, five cherry tomatoes

and two boiled eggs.

For dinner, if I'm seriously starving,

I drink low-fat milk.

That's all you eat for lunch?

Yes.

You've been doing this for a year now?

In case I eat fried chicken for get-togethers,

- I'd... / - Look behind you.

(Do you like fried chicken, too?)

What do you do, then?

In case I...

In case I eat fried chicken,

I starve myself

for about three days.

(She starves for three days.)

(My goodness.)

- Seriously... / - That's why

I always live within the rules I set myself.

That would be totally stressful.

- You won't lose any weight. / - What's happiness?

You'll store fat

since your body doesn't know when you'll get energy.

- Exactly. / - The faster you lose weight by starving,

the faster you'll gain it back.

Eventually, you'll keep starving again and again.

Do you mind telling me if you have a boyfriend or not?

- Yes, we just started dating. / - It's new.

How do you eat when you go on a date?

I don't want to show my sensitive side since

we just started dating recently.

I would eat,

but not more than half a bowl of rice.

Does he know you're on such diet?

- Yes, and since it's bad for my health, / - Exactly.

he tells me not to diet.

However, I told him that I'll continue.

(I don't understand.)

She's been on a diet for a year. How was she before?

She used to love eating as well,

but ever since we moved to Seoul,

she's been dieting non-stop.

Since you moved to Seoul?

Since there are many pretty women in Seoul...

You lose fat to look like a Seoulite.

(What a lame joke.)

I see.

- Let's meet her friend. / - What an old man.

Hello.

You're the sister's friend.

Yes, I'm the sister's friend.

(Nice to meet you.)

What do you think about her?

When we're on the phone,

she'd tell me she'll call back since her stomach hurts.

She hangs up like that.

It must be hard to meet her because

- she wouldn't want to eat out. / - That's right.

When we eat out, she refuses to eat.

"I'll just sit with you while you eat."

- Seriously... / - She'd say that.

When I tell her I'd treat her to an expensive meal,

she says she can't eat since the food looks like fat.

- What's the matter with her? / - She'd eat nothing

and drink coffee at a coffee shop.

(Sister, what's wrong with you?)

Your sister is mostly worried about your health.

- That's right. / - How can you work

after eating so little food? Are you okay?

Actually,

I feel that my brain would shut down for a while.

- What? / - There are moments like that.

- Isn't that serious? / - It feels

as though everything just stops.

Even when someone speaks,

my brain isn't able to take it in.

- That's not good. / - My eyelids tremble.

- You need magnesium. / - My hands and feet tremble.

The nutrition imbalance is serious.

However, I've never fainted.

- I never had / - Will you stop if you faint?

a serious accident yet...

You mustn't go on a diet that makes you faint.

- You mustn't. / - You'll ruin your health.

Why faint? Aren't you trying to be happy?

However, she almost fainted once.

- She had bloody discharge for ten days. / - Oh, my.

- My gosh. / - For ten days?

- Her body lost nutritional balance. / - Oh, dear.

- That's what happened. / - If you starve,

your immune system weakens and you contract diseases.

Eunji also suffered from middle ear infection.

Yes, I got sinusitis for the first time in my life.

I also got middle ear infection at the same time.

My tonsils were all swollen,

so I couldn't even sing for a while.

I get why your sister is worried,

but I'm more worried about your health

- since that's what I'm going through. / - Exactly.

- She never goes to hospitals. / - Why don't you?

Doctors will obviously say that starving is the cause.

In order to take medication, you need to eat.

I don't have the confidence to do that.

Aren't you worried about your health?

You'll run into huge problems

- all at once. / - Your body's protesting now.

- Of course. / - It keeps protesting,

but you're not accepting it.

If you don't negotiate and appease your body now,

- riots will break out. / - Tell me honestly.

Do you have pain elsewhere

that your sister is not aware of?

I have bad knees.

Once, my knees felt like it's been hit with a hammer.

I went to the hospital in the middle of work.

It was patellar ligament infection.

Since I exercised too much without eating,

- Exactly. / - the doctor said

I got an infection on my ligaments.

Did you not go back to the hospital after that?

- Not after the diagnoses. / - What was the reason?

- The doctor didn't let me exercise. / - Oh, dear.

You need to have ligaments to exercise.

It was tough back then.

Gaining or losing a bit of weight

- is not what matters. / - Of course not.

Building your self-esteem and confidence

is more important. You have a boyfriend, too.

What do you think?

I guess I developed a victim mentality.

When someone says that I'm pretty, I wonder what

- they mean. / - You don't accept a praise as is.

Yes, I often think that way.

An ex-boyfriend of mine whom I dated two years back

told me that I should lose fat on my legs.

"It'd be nice if your calves were a bit slimmer."

He told me these things directly.

If you want to lose fat on your legs only,

there are exercises that target your legs.

You shouldn't be doing what you're doing now.

They say that you'll lose fat on your legs in the end.

- That's not true. / - It's not like that.

I've been to concerts by

Beyonce and Britney Stewardess...

- It's "Spears". / - Spears.

- Is it an airplane? / - Yes...

- Hey. / - I'm sorry.

- He's American. / - You don't even speak English.

- There's no point living in the US. / - I'm sorry.

Their legs...

- When you look at them, / - There's really something.

- They're huge. / - their legs are this huge.

They're so cool. They're the best.

I was totally surprised when she danced like this.

What was that?

Was it "Single Ladies" by any chance?

- "Single Ladies". / - ♪ Single lady ♪

- Like this? / - You should stand up.

Here comes Kang Hodong.

(Beyonce, are you watching me?)

She danced like this.

She was totally gorgeous.

However, when I see your sister...

You picked the wrong role model.

You're like Beyonce.

Some people would envy you. Be satisfied with yourself

and have more self-esteem.

I'm not sure what others think, but I think I'm okay.

That's why I find every single day joyful.

That's happiness.

Do you have a wish for your sister?

Actually, after our mom and dad separated,

- I didn't see my sister for... / - They got divorced?

You must have lived apart from your sister for long.

How long were you two apart from each other?

(The sisters met after a long time.)

About seven to eight years.

You lived apart from your sister.

There are many things I'd like to do with her.

I want to come to Seoul

and hang out together with her

or just enjoy delicious food at home.

You want to eat together and chat.

We can't do anything because of her diet.

Did you know about this?

When my sister came to Seoul for the first time,

we went out together.

After talking with each other for a while,

I realized it was our first time going out on our own.

However, due to my diet,

- we couldn't go to a coffee shop. / - What is that?

We couldn't eat out either.

We walked all the way from Hongdae to Sangsu,

and back again to our neighborhood.

I didn't realize it then, but she would've been upset.

- I knew it. / - You're missing out

(You might be missing out every day.)

All right. Let's vote starting from Jaejung.

- Is it a worry or not? / - I don't think

- it's a worry. / - In her point of view?

I think there are many people who love your sister.

As long as you learn to love yourself,

it'll be resolved.

- I don't think it's a worry / - Heo Kyunghwan.

because you have a will to lose weight.

You can lose weight with a systematic workout.

You can build a beautiful body, so it's not a worry.

I think it's a worry.

It's really great that you're on a diet,

but you must care for those you love and love yourself.

I want you to live happily.

I also think it's a worry.

I want you to change little by little.

I also tell myself that I'm pretty in the mirror.

- That's right. / - I try to do that.

Even I think I look ugly sometimes.

- You can't acknowledge your looks. / - That's right.

Soar With a Golden Eagle | The Daily 360 | The New York Times - Duration: 1:30.

Widow the golden eagle. She's an extremely unique bird.

She circles over our head anywhere from 500 to

four or five 5,000 feet.

When you take a bird that you know from ground zero

and you train it, you watch it learn how to fly, and you see it

catch its first rabbit or whatever that is,

you can see the light go on in that bird.

And you can see it becoming an eagle right in front of your eyes.

So he's great, yes he's better.

And then as it gets closer and closer to release time,

you can see the light come on their eyes and they really tell

us it's time to be turned loose.

You know it becomes kind of bittersweet because you've

worried about this bird, you've taught it all these things but

yet now you have to turn it loose and hope that what you've

taught it or, or the experiences gained with you

is enough to have it survive.

Jeep Wrangler Synergy Front Track Bar (2007-2017 JK) Review & Instal - Duration: 4:03.

Today, we're going to talk through the installation of this track bar, which is a very simple

one out of three-wrench installation.

This is going to bolt directly in place of that factory track bar.

Then, you just have to get it adjusted to center the axle.

The whole process shouldn't take you more than an hour to complete, but we'll talk more

about that install in just a second.

We're also going to talk through the construction and a few of the features of this track bar.

An adjustable track bar will allow you to completely re-center your axle underneath

your Jeep after you've installed a lift.

A beefier and stronger track bar like this one will also help to eliminate any wobble

that you might get from running a much larger tire on your Jeep and having your factory

track bar flex.

This track bar, in particular, is a very well-built one.

However, it still has factory rubber-style bushings on both ends.

But it carries a price tag that's closer to some of the track bars that have a heim joint

on one end.

So you are still getting something that's very high-quality.

You are getting something that you can adjust while it's installed on the Jeep.

But you're not getting the additional flex that you would get out of a heim joint, and

you're still paying a little bit of a higher price.

I'm not saying that that's necessarily a negative.

Synergy does make a really high-quality product.

But if you are on a budget and you're looking for some less expensive track bars, there

are some options that have rubber ends like this one that are going to save you a few

dollars.

This track bar is made of inch-and-a-quarter, solid barstock, and you have a heavy-duty

rod end over here that is made of Chromoly, making it very, very strong.

This has a slightly different adjuster on the end of it than we see on a lot of the

other track bars on the market.

This will be able to be adjusted while it's installed on the Jeep, which is something

that it shares with a lot of the other track bars on the market, not all of them.

But most will have two clamps and an adjustment sleeve.

This has a threaded adjustment collar, and then a clamping bolt.

It's just a little bit of a different style.

I don't think one is necessarily better than the other one.

But it is something to point out that that is a slight difference.

So to get this installed on your Jeep, again, is a one out of three-wrench installation

that shouldn't take you more than an hour to complete with just some hand tools.

The first step is removing your factory track bar, which you can do by removing the bolt

on the frame side and the axle side, and pulling that track bar out of the way.

After that, you'll install one end of this track bar onto your Jeep using the factory

hardware.

Then, loosen up the adjustment nut, and lengthen or shorten the track bar so that the bolt

hole will line up on the other side.

Once you have both bolts installed, you can go ahead and take some measurements, look

down the side of the Jeep, and use that adjustment collar in order to get the axle completely

centered underneath your Jeep before you tighten down that clamping bolt.

Again, this is an easy install that anybody can do in their driveway.

This track bar is going to come in at right around $225, which is going to be a little

bit more expensive than some of the other track bars on the market that have rubber

ends on them.

Generally, some of the more expensive track bars are going to have a heim joint on one

end, giving you a little bit more articulation.

Now, you are getting a very strong track bar that is adjustable on the Jeep for your money,

and you are getting the Synergy name brand, which does hold some weight.

Synergy makes some very high-quality products.

So if you're interested in purchasing this track bar, if you have a slightly higher budget,

I would definitely recommend it.

However, if you're just looking for an adjustable track bar with solid rubber ends and you're

not as interested in the name brand on it, you can probably save a couple dollars by

going with one of the other ones available.

So if you're looking to install an adjustable front track bar on your Jeep to completely

center that front axle underneath the vehicle and have something that's much stronger than

factory, so you're not going to get any flex, I think this is going to be a nice option,

as long as you have a higher budget.

So that's my review of the Synergy Front Track Bar, fitting fall 2007 and up JKs, that you

can find right here, at extremeterrain.com.

Grow Your YouTube Channel 10X FASTER with TubeBuddy - Duration: 3:46.

in this video I'm going to talk about how you can grow your YouTube channels

10 times faster with TubeBuddy so be sure to watch till the end for all the

details what's going on in this video I'm going to talk about the Chrome

extension to buddy so what is two buddy well two buddy is a Google Chrome

extension that you can add to make your YouTube better and have tons and tons of

features for your YouTube channel so why is it so special well I'm going to talk

about some of the key features in this video about why two buddy is one of the

best features you could have for YouTube first off let's sort of talk about SEO

so I've talked about before how SEO on YouTube is extremely important for

ranking your videos and getting tons of views which you can find somewhere right

here and what I talked about in the video was most importantly tagging

titles description all that and to buddy really helps with that one of the key

things it does is help you explore tags to see if you want to use them as tags

for your videos so one thing like you could do is maybe you're making a video

about a shoe review and you don't know what would work and what's not going to

work well one thing you could do is go to the

explore button on to buddy and type in whatever the shoes name is and it's

going to give you feedback about how many people are searching that a month

if it's got tons of competition or a little competition and an overall score

of if you should use it or not and also it will give you other suggested tags

that you want to use or whatever Google my auto feel or what youtube my Auto

feel that you may want to use also as another tag to get even more searches

and find your video even more by other people it's also chock-full of cool

little things for your description like adding emojis and also there's a

promotion tab on to buddy that you could use to get shortened URLs for your

recent videos your most viewed videos or even just a link to subscribe to your

channel which you can stick in your description

and to buddy will track how many times that link gets click and you can look

how many times it's getting clicked and over time you can see how this is

actually working and how it's sort of building there's also amazing things

like a gift generator a thumbnail generator and templates for your cards

and your in screens and your annotations which is really really cool that

something like this would offer that to buddy will also help you filter through

comments easier and do other stuff of comments that you wouldn't be able to do

without - buddy - buddy will also give you other great things like best time to

upload your YouTube videos and also stuff like Brando alerts and your

channel evaluation so it will tell you actually how much your channel is worth

for sponsorships and other branding things like that also there's tons of

bulking stuff like you can bulk copy bulk delete and book publish about

anything you could think of so why are you still waiting here and watching this

video when you could be getting to buddy right now and using it right in one of

your videos and I'll go in more depth on another video talking about how you

should use to buddy so if you want to watch that video be sure to subscribe

and click that notification bill to get the video right when it comes out and I

hope you guys enjoyed this video if you did be sure to subscribe I do videos on

YouTube but also business and technology and I will see you guys in the next

video

WAY THAT I THOUGHT ABOUT MY OWN POSSIBILITIES, RIGHT?

I THOUGHT TO MYSELF, "YOU KNOW, I'VE BEEN SELLIN' MYSELF MAYBE A

LITTLE SHORT." >> WHEN J.D. WAS HERE, HE'S

PRETTY OPEN ABOUT THE FACT THAT HE STUCK OUT A LITTLE BIT.

>> HE REALLY DID -- ACTUALLY. >> AMY CHUA, AUTHOR OF THE

BEST-SELLING BOOK "BATTLE HYMN OF THE TIGER MOTHER," WAS ONE OF

HIS PROFESSORS, AND BECAME AN IMPORTANT MENTOR.

>> YOU WOULD THINK THERE'S NOTHING IN COMMON BETWEEN

CHINESE AMERICAN IMMIGRANT CHILD, AND A GUY FROM

APPALACHIA, BUT I SAW A LOT OF MYSELF IN HIM.

DISMISSES THE TONE OF THE BOOK, QUOTE, "ALL HILLBILLIES NEED TO

DO IS WORK HARD, MAYBE DO A STINT IN THE MILITARY, AND THEY

CAN END UP AT YALE LAW LIKE HE DID."

>> I JUST DON'T THINK THAT'S THE THESIS OF THE BOOK AT ALL.

THE TAKEAWAY OF THE BOOK IS NOT JUST WORK HARD, THE TAKEAWAY OF

THE BOOK IS THAT COMMUNITY AND FAMILY REALLY MATTER.

AND I THINK ANYBODY WHO IGNORES THAT IS FUNDAMENTALLY NOT

APPRECIATING THE ACTUAL REALITY THAT EXISTS ON THE GROUND, AND

THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEMS THESE KIDS FACE.

>> TWO MONTHS AGO, HE STARTED WORKING FOR AN INVESTMENT FIRM

>> EVERYONE WANTS TO KNOW WHETHER JD'S GONNA RUN FOR

OFFICE. >> WHO'S EVERYONE?

>> EVERYONE, IT'S EVERYONE. TRUST ME, I SPEAK TO THEM.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? SHOULD HE RUN FOR OFFICE?

>> I DON'T BELIEVE IT'S EVERYONE.

>> I THINK SOMEDAY, IF THE TIME IS RIGHT AND IF -- IF HE REALLY

FEELS THAT THAT'S THE BEST WAY THAT HE CAN CONTRIBUTE TO HIS

HOME, THEN, I THINK THAT WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA.

>> WHY DO YOU GET UNCOMFORTABLE WHEN THAT IDEA COMES UP?

>> WELL I THINK THAT, YOU KNOW, WHEN PEOPLE ASK ME IF I WANNA

RUN FOR OFFICE, PART OF ME WONDERS, LIKE, DO THEY THINK I

JUST GIVE OFF A USED CAR SALESMAN VIBE.

>> DON'T YOU THINK IT'S MORE BORNE OF HOPE THAT YOU COULD

BE -- YOU COULD BE A REAL CHANGE AGENT.

>> WELL, SURE. YEAH, NO.

I -- I THINK THAT'S THE OPTIMISTIC TAKE ON IT.

I'M VERY FLATTERED WHEN PEOPLE ASK ME.

AND YOU NEVER SAY NEVER, BUT IT'S JUST NOT SOMETHING THAT I

THINK ABOUT DOING RIGHT NOW. SO WE LEFT J.D. VANCE, 32, HOME

AGAIN ON THE CUSP OF FATHERHOOD, WHETHER HIS PAST WILL INTERFERE

WITH HIS PRESENT, WELL, THAT COULD BE ANOTHER BOOK.

>> DO YOU THINK HE'S DEALT WITH THIS STUFF?

>> I THINK THAT HE THINKS THAT HE HAS.

I THINK THAT -- I THINK THAT THIS BOOK, WRITING IT, WAS A

VERY GOOD STEP >> WHEN I FINISHED THE BOOK I

FELT A LITTLE WORRIED ABOUT YOU. I --

>> WHY? >> I WONDERED IF YOU HAD REALLY

DEALT WITH EVERYTHING. >> THAT'S INTERESTING.

>> AND WHEN I MET WITH LINDSAY SHE WONDERED, TOO.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? >> THAT'S A REALLY GOOD

QUESTION. I'VE -- I'VE NEVER BEEN ASKED

THIS. I -- I THINK THAT THE -- THE

HONEST ANSWER IS THAT I -- I PROBABLY HAVEN'T DEALT WITH

EVERYTHING, BUT THAT THAT'S PART OF GROWING UP AND LIVING YOUR

LIFE, IS YOU'RE CONSTANTLY DEALING WITH THIS STUFF AND

YOU'RE CONSTANTLY WORKING THROUGH IT.

TH -- THE BOOK IS NOT AN EFFORT TO SORT OF FINALLY WORK THROUGH

ALL OF THESE THINGS THAT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS A KID, IT'S

THE BEGINNING OF AN EFFORT THAT WILL PROBABLY TAKE ME FOR THE

REST OF MY LIFE. AND YOU KNOW, I'M -- I'M OKAY

WITH THAT. >> A HAPPY UPDATE FOR YOU NOW,

Designer: Using the SGCONVRG Instruction - Duration: 1:02.

This instruction is used to transition from multiple stages and enabling a single stage.

This instruction also doubles as a Stage marker instruction.

You will not need to use a separate stage instruction for the Stage you are converging

to.

How this works is when the Stages from this section are all enabled and then this condition

is true.

It will disable the stages in the Here and then enable this stage.

This parameter is satisfied when using a numeric variable and that value is a non-zero or in

the case of a Boolean the bit is ON.

Stages can only be entered in Program code blocks and this instruction can only target

or reference stages within the same Program code block.

This instruction is a 'power-rail' instruction.

That means that even though it is displayed on the left hand side of the logic, it is

actually entered in on the right-hand side of the logic and then collapses down to the

Power rail.

Using Far Infrared Heat for Pain Relief - Ask Doctor Jo - Duration: 12:05.

Hey everybody its Doctor Jo, and it's product review time again. The folks at

Thermotex partnered up with us and sent us their Thermotex Platinum. So let's

get started.

So the cool thing about Thermotex is they are a far infrared heating system. And

the reason that far infrared is so much better than a traditional heating pad is

because it penetrates further into the body. So it gets down different layers. A

traditional heating pad usually only goes about 0.25 centimeters. Far infrared goes

all the way up to about 6 centimeters or 2.36 inches, so it gets way down where

that inflammation, that irritation, that pain is without burning your skin. So

that's the best part, it goes nice and deep. It doesn't dry out and make you

dehydrated because it's not a heat it's a light system, so it's really really

cool. It works great it gets deep down into those achy joints, achy muscles,

and it really helps to temporary relieve pain. So let me show you it a little bit,

and I'll talk a little bit more about its awesome things that it does. So this

one is their platinum system, and it's really cool because it's super versatile. You

can put it almost anywhere on your body. So as you can see here, it's super soft

which is really really nice when you're putting it against your body and your

skin and stuff. The cord here is also really nice because you have the on/off

button, but let's say you have it on your body and you have to go to the bathroom

or something. Well instead of taking the whole thing off if you've got it on you

nicely, you can just unplug it right here and then take it with you and come back.

So I really like that component as well because if you have it on you for about

45 minutes, sometimes you have to get up and do something else, or if the doorbell

rings or something, you just unplug it instead of taking it all the way off and

then having to come back and put it all the way back on. It also comes with two

straps here, a shorter version and a longer version, and that's really nice

because since you can put it on so many different parts of your body, you might

want the shorter strap for something like a foot or wrist, and then if you're

doing your body like your back, or you know if you're having some

cramps in the front, you use the longer strap to put all the way around your

body. So that's really really nice as well. The back part here this is the part

that goes on the outer side is it's squishy. And the Platinum has three

heating plates which is really nice because then that again, you can wrap it

around the body part it gets a very big surface. So there's a lot of stuff going

on here for the Platinum. Where the logo is, that goes against your body and it's

a little bit firmer on this side so that's how you can tell the difference,

but then the plates go really close really nice to your body which makes it

good because it sits on there and it's very comfortable. And it doesn't have to

be tight that's the other great thing. Since it penetrates so far, that six

centimeters, or 2.36 inches, you don't have to wrap it tight

around your body, so it's hugging you so close, you can put it you know nice and

loose on the body, you don't have to wrap it so tight. So I like that too because

sometimes you can just drape it over something if you're laying down and

relaxing, you don't have to strap it on if you don't want to. And so that's what

makes it so cool being able to use it basically anywhere. So the far infrared

is really good for things like back pain, if you've got those muscle spasms in the

back, if you have some arthritis, things like that. What it does is it helps

increase the circulation to the area and this is really good because it not only

helps relax muscles, but it calms down that inflammation. That increase in

circulation helps move that stuff out of the area to help the healing process, so

it's really really nice in that fact. You can also use it for things like

tendonitis, bursitis, you can use it for strains and sprains, but make sure to

remember if it's something acute injury, like that just happened, those sprains or

those strains, the first 24 to 48 hours you really want to be icing it to calm

down that extreme inflammation, but once you get into that about 48 hour, you can

alternate between ice and heat or you can just do the heat. And the

far infrared is really really great for that. Another one that I really really

like this for is fibromyalgia. You know it's one of those diagnosis that people

get when sometimes the doctors might not know what's going

on, and unfortunately I think it's misdiagnosed a lot, so using something

like this is really helpful because maybe that's something else this will

help with it too, but if it's that true fibromyalgia, again it really helps with

that inflammation because that's a form of arthritis and it flares up those

nerves and it makes them go crazy, so having that far infrared heat is really

really comfortable. It helps calm everything down and a lot of times you

can put it on and then get going and feeling much better throughout the day,

so it's really nice I like it a lot. When you first start out with this, if you

have had an injury or something or just feeling achy all over, you really want to

do it about two times a day if you can and you want to do it for about 30 to 45

minutes. The way this system works is it's one setting which is nice because

then you don't have to worry about picking numbers of which one you want. It doesn't

get too hot, but you do sometimes want to let it warm up a little bit first. They

recommend about 10 minutes, but as I've been using it, I noticed that you really

can start feeling the benefits of it within just a first few minutes, but if

you want to turn it on for a little bit a couple minutes and then come put it on,

you can do that as well, they do recommend kind of warming it up first.

And then after you get you know maybe a week in doing it twice day you can take

it down a little bit, but it's still good to use it every day because that's what

helps really getting that warmth that increased circulation in there getting

that penetration down deep in there so it's great. And another great thing about

this is the cover is washable. You can do machine wash or hand wash and so you see

how it has velcro here where you can take it off, and there's instructions in

the instruction manual of how to wash it, so that's really nice too because you

can take it off and keep it clean and wash it occasionally. So let me show you

a couple ways to put it on all parts of the body because that's what makes it so

great you can use it anywhere. So the first one I like is just around the back,

and they also recommend where the cord comes out have it going downwards just

because then that doesn't tug and pull on it if it's this way it puts a little

more pressure on that area so it makes it nice or

to have it you know wherever it's plugged in you want it going downward, so

it just hangs down nicely. I'm going to use the big one the long strap to go all

the way around, and what I do is since it's kind of a universal strap for any

size I actually take mine just to get it nice and wrap all the way around so you

can see here, it went all the way around. If you don't need to go all the way around,

that's fine but again it's just nice and comfortable on the back there doesn't

have to be tight, it can be looser than this, I just kind of like mine if I'm

sitting up, but if you're lying down you can have it a little bit looser as well,

so that makes it super nice and easy and since it's velcro it comes off very

quickly and easily. As far as maybe your elbow wrist area what's great about it

is the plate in the middle, you can kind of put on either side, but remember it

penetrates so deeply it doesn't really matter even if you're hurting on this

side, that's enough where we'll go all the way

through. So if you're more comfortable putting it this way you can, but if you

want to put it directly on the area you can as well, but remember it penetrates

pretty deeply, so it doesn't have to go directly on where you're hurting.

So if you're hurting in the wrist area, you can just put it almost like a

c-shape, see how that is, or the C shape like that, and then you can just kind of

hold it like that and and wrap it around. So again it doesn't have to be super

tight unless you want it to, and so this one you probably want to use the smaller

straps or so you don't have to wrap it around so much, but you can see that I

was able to do that. Let me show you the smaller strap real quickly. So here and

then here, so that's nice. So see it doesn't have to be tight, but it's still

getting all those areas which is nice and beneficial. And so again with the

elbow, you can just move your arm up and then it goes directly onto your elbow.

Especially if you have you know something going on on either side, it

will get the the side panels will get those as well.

You can also come down to something like the knee. And so again you can either do

it if you want the top and the bottom that C kind of motion, you might want

to lay down or sit down so you can put your knee straight if you want to, and

then just put it on that way. Or if you want to get both sides, if it's something on

the inside or the outside, you can do it that way as well and have a little more

bend in your knee if you want to do it that way. Same thing for the foot. You can

put the bottom plate down on the bottom of your foot, and then just curl it up on

each end, and then just have it like that. So as you can see, you can do it almost

anywhere it's so cool, it's neat. You can go up to your shoulder or your neck.

Depending on how much looseness you want, you can do the short strap or the long

strap. Make sure you don't choke yourself, so you might want the longer

strap, so it's just kind of sitting there. You can do it a couple different ways

some they recommend putting the middle one kind of in the curve of the neck

having the top one up on your head and then the lower one kind of down. So with

that one, it would probably be more comfortable if you lie down on it which

you can certainly do that. And then you can also just kind of have it on your

shoulder area as well, so something like that, and again it doesn't have to be tight

it doesn't have to be super snug on there because the way this goes so deep

down and that light moves all the way through, it doesn't have to be super

tight because it's not heat it's light that's going through. So this is why I

like this so much, and the far-infrared is great. And they also have research

that proves that it really does work, and if you want to check out that research,

you can go on their website. They have internal and external studies to show

that it really goes in there, it really gets that inflammation calmed down,

increases the circulation to help with all those pains and aches and make you

feel better. So this is really really great for

almost any kind of injury, pains, aches, but there are some health conditions

where you probably shouldn't use it. A big one is if you're pregnant. Make

sure you're not using it when you're pregnant. Also

hemophilia. If you're hemophiliac, you you don't want to use this. Or even

severe adrenal suppression. Those are things that you probably shouldn't use

this on. Make sure you don't, but you should always ask your doctor first if

the far infrared is okay to use on your body. Also if you have something like

pins, screws, hardware's in your body, this is okay to use. It might feel a little

bit different, you might feel like a little vibration feeling, for example me.

I have pins in my hand. When I've use it on my hand, I don't really feel anything,

but I've had them for a long time. So it's okay to use you might just want to

start off with like five or ten minutes just to see how it feels

in case you are feeling something, but it's okay to use. So especially people

after a surgery or something have little flare-ups every once in a while and

that's okay to use this. So there you have it. If you have any questions, leave

them in the comments section. If you're interested in purchasing the product, you

Counting Penguins: What Penguins In Antarctica Might Be Telling Us About Climate Change | NBC News - Duration: 9:33.

EARTH. CLIMATE CHANGE.

YOU CAN ARGUE ABOUT ITS CAUSES ALL YOU WANT, BUT THERE ARE FEW

PLACES ON THE PLANET THAT HAVE FELT THE EFFECTS OF EARTH'S

WARMING MORE THAN HERE, THE ANTARCTIC PENINSULA.

WHERE THE AVERAGE WINTER TEMPERATURE HAS RISEN NINE

DEGREES. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

THE PENGUINS WILL TELL US. >> THE ANTARCTIC PENINSULA ISN'T

THE EASIEST PLACE TO GET TO. IT REQUIRES A TWO DAY SEA VOYAGE

FROM THE BOTTOM OF ARGENTINA ACROSS THE SOUTHERN OCEAN.

OUR DESTINATION, THE 800 MILE LONG LEG OF LAND THAT REACHES

NORTHWARD FROM THE CONTINENT. IT IS A PLACE OF JAW DROPPING

GRANDEUR, MOUNTAINS, GLACIERS, AND ICEBERGS THE SIZE OF CITY

BLOCKS. >> WE CAME HERE TO COUNT

PENGUINS, FOR THEM CLIMATE CHANGE IS ALREADY A CRITICAL

PROBELEM. AND THEIR PROBLEMS MAY SOON BE

OUR PROBLEMS. >> HOW TO YOU COUNT THEM?

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO? >> IT IS SUPER LOW TECH.

WE'VE GOT THESE CLICKERS. THERE YOU GO.

>> HANDHELD CLICKERS. WE GOT ONE FOR YOU TOO HARRY.

>> ONE CLICK FOR NEST AND THAT'S IT.

>> I MIGHT BE ABLE TO HANDLE THAT.

>> ALL RIGHT >> IT'S HARDER THAN YOU MIGHT

THINK THEY ALL LOOK ALIKE. BUT WE'LL GIVE IT A TRY.

>> ANTARCTICA IS HOME TO MILLIONS OF THESE DUMBFOUNDINGLY

CHARMING AND REMARKABLY RESILIENT ANIMALS.

A FLIGHTLESS BIRD THAT HAS BEEN CAVORTING AROUND THIS PART OF

THE WORLD FOR 60 MILLION YEARS OR SO.

RON NAVEEN IS THE "BIRDMAN OF ANTARCTICA."

A CITIZEN SCIENTIST, HE FOUNDED AN ORGANIZATION CALLED

OCEANITES. IT'S SOLE PURPOSE IS KEEPING

TRACK OF THE PENGUIN POPULATION. >> WELL, THERE'S FIVE HERE.

>> DR. HEATHER LYNCH, JOINED HIM ABOUT TEN YEARS AGO.

SHE'S A HARVARD TRAINED EVOLUTIONARY BIOLOGIST AND

TEACHES AT STONYBROOK UNIVERSITY.

>> WOULD IT BE TOO MUCH OF A STRETCH TO SAY THESE PENGUINS

ARE SORT OF THE CANARY IN THE COAL MINE OF CLIMATE CHANGE?

>> OH WE DO THINK THAT. AND IN FACT THAT'S ONE OF THE

REASONS WHY WE ARE SO FOCUSED ON THEM. BECAUSE THEY ARE THE THING

THAT WE CAN, WE CAN STUDY. AND WE HOPE THAT THEY -- THEY

CAN TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT OF WHAT WE MIGHT EXPECT

ELSEWHERE. YOU KNOW ALL THE SPECIES ON THE

PLANET NEED TO DEAL WITH CLIMATE CHANGE. IT'S NOT AN ANTARCTIC

ISSUE. BUT THESE PENGUINS ARE DEALING

WITH IT NOW. >> SPECIFICALLY THEY ARE HERE TO

COUNT THREE TYPES OF PENGUINS. CHINSTRAPS, ADELIES, AND

GENTOOS -- EASIER TO DO NOW BECAUSE IT'S DECEMBER, SUMMER IN

THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE. IN ORDER TO COUNT PENGUINS YOU

MUST OVERCOME AN OLFACTORY CHALLENGE.

THE EVER CONSTANT AROMA OF PENGUIN POOP.

>> THERE IS AN ODOR THAT ACCOMPANIES OUR TASKS HERE,

TODAY. >> IT'S THE SMELL, IT'S THE

ANTARCTIC PERFUME YOU MIGHT SAY. IT'S THE GUANO FROM THE

PENGUINS. >> RON CAN TELL FROM SMELL AND

SIGHT EXACTLY WHAT THE BIRDS ARE EATING.

>> SO THE PENGUIN POOP TELLS YOU A LOT.

>> OH MY GOD, PENGUIN POOP TELL-GUANO IS EVERYTHING.

YOU KNOW WE GOT TO COUNT BUT I LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY

ARE EATING IN THE ECOSYSTEM. AND THERE IS A LOT OF CONCERN

BECAUSE WITH THE WARMING DOWN HERE.

THE FOOD CHAIN'S BEEN REALLY DISRUPTIVE.

>> DISRUPTED, HE SAYS, EITHER BY RISING TEMPERATURES OR OVER

FISHING, MAYBE BOTH. THE BIRDS ARE EATING TINY SHRIMP

LIKE CREATURES CALLED KRILL INSTEAD OF FISH. AND RON'S NOT

HAPPY. >> YOU CAN YELL AT THEM EAT MORE

FISH, EAT MORE FISH, YOU KNOW AND THEY JUST DON'T GET IT.

>> AND IT'S NOT JUST THE FOOD SUPPLY, WARMER WINTERS MEAN RAIN

SOMETIMES INSTEAD OF SNOW. BIRDS BUILDING NESTS IN MUD INSTEAD OF

ICE. SOME THOUGH HAVE MOVED TO HIGHER

GROUND. >> LOOK AT THIS.

>> SOMETIMES THE ANTARCTIC ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO SWALLOW YOU

WHOLE AND THEN TODAY IT IS NOTHING BUT GIFTS.

>> I'M SO SURPRISED THAT THESE BIRDS DECIDE TO NEST A COUPLE

HUNDRED YARDS OFF THE WATER. THEY ARE WAY UP HERE.

>> THEY ARE BUT LOOK AT HOW DRY THESE PLACES ARE.

I MEAN, IF YOU ARE A PENGUIN, THIS IS AWESOME.

THIS IS THE BEST ZIP CODE AROUND.

EGGS ARE DRY AND THESE LITTLE BOULDERS PROVIDE A LITTLE

PROTECTION FROM THE PREDATORS. >> FOR SEVERAL DAYS WE SAILED

AND COUNTED, AND SAILED AND COUNTED.

BUT ABOUT HALFWAY THROUGH OUR 11 DAY JOURNEY WE CAME UPON A

PLACE CALLED BROWN BLUFF. THERE WE SAW A PENGUIN COLONY

RON DISCOVERED. HIS CONNECTION HERE IS VISCERAL. BECAUSE, IT IS

ALMOST UNRECOGNIZABLE FROM WHEN HE FIRST SET FOOT HERE.

>> WHAT'S THE BIGGEST CHANGE YOU'VE SEEN HERE SINCE YOU

STARTED COMING HERE 30-SOME YEARS AGO?

>> THERE'S NO SNOW. AND IT'S EARLY DECEMBER.

THIS IS CRAZY. THIS IS USUALLY COVERED IN SNOW,

SNOW THAT IS MAKING IT DIFFICULT FOR ME TO COUNT THESE GUYS.

IT'S NOT HERE THIS YEAR. THE SEA ICE WAS LOW THIS YEAR.

IN OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE ANTARCTIC PENINSULA, I CAN WALK

BEACHES THAT WERE COVERED BY GLACIERS WHEN I FIRST CAME SO

MANY DECADES AGO. THIS PLACE IS CHANGING.

>> AND CHANGING FAST. THIS YEAR ANTARCTICA HAD THE

LOWEST AMOUNT OF SEA ICE SINCE SATELLITES BEGAN KEEPING TRACK

IN 1979. AND NOT BY A LITTLE BIT.

SEA ICE WAS DOWN SOME 66 THOUSAND SQUARE MILES FROM

THE PREVIOUS RECORD LOW. THAT'S ABOUT THE SIZE OF WASHINGTON

STATE. >> HAVE THERE BEEN MOMENTS OF

FUTILITY FOR YOU HERE, TRYING TO SAY THAT THESE ANIMALS AND THIS

PLACE ARE TRYING TO SEND A MESSAGE BUT NO ONE'S LISTENING?

>> I HAVE THAT FEELING ALL THE TIME.

YOU TRULY HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF

PEOPLE -- AND I DO UNDERSTAND THIS, WHO JUST DON'T HAVE THE

BEST OF LIVES. THEY CAN'T PUT FOOD IN THEIR

MOUTHS. THEY DON'T HAVE A JOB.

I UNDERSTAND WHY THEY CAN'T FOCUS ON CLIMATE CHANGE RIGHT

NOW. BUT THERE'S A HECK OF A LOT OF

PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT JUST HAVEN'T GOTTEN THE MESSAGE YET

BECAUSE I DON'T THINK THEY'VE HEARD IT NECESSARILY THE RIGHT

WAY.

>> NOW GENTLEMEN JUST CALM DOWN. >> HEATHER LYNCH SAYS THE ADELIE

PENGUIN POPULATION HERE HAS DECLINED BY SEVENTY PERCENT

SINCE THE 1980S. AND THE CHINSTRAP POPULATION IS

DOWN FIFTY PERCENT IN SOME PLACES.

INCREDIBLY AT THE SAME TIME THE GENTOO PENGUIN POPULATION IS

ACTUALLY GROWING. >> SOME OF THESE BIRDS, SOME OF

THESE PENGUINS HAVE THRIVED THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS.

>> OH THEY HAVE, THESE GUYS RIGHT BEHIND US THE GENTOO

PENGUIN, THEIR POPULATION GROW THREE, FOUR, FIVE PERCENT A

YEAR. THE SECRET, ADAPTABILITY.

THE GENTOOS ARE ADJUSTING THEIR DIETS AND MOVING THEIR NESTS TO

MORE SUITABLE PLACES. >> THEY ROLL WITH THE PUNCHES.

IN A WAY THAT THESE OTHER SPECIES JUST CAN'T.

AND IN THAT THERE IS A BIG LESSON FOR US, YOU KNOW, THAT WE

HAVE TO ADAPT OR WE'RE NOT GOING TO MAKE IT.

>> AT STONY BROOK DR. LYNCH ANALYZES DRONE FOOTAGE AND EVEN

SATELLITE SHOTS. >> SO THE TECHNOLOGY THAT WE'RE

USING NOW ISN'T JUST TELLING US HOW MANY PENGUINS THERE ARE,

IT'S TELLING US ALL SORTS OF THINGS ABOUT PENGUIN BEHAVIOR.

>> IT'S THE WAY TO GET THE BIG PICTURE.

>> SO WHAT ARE THE PENGUINS TELLING US?

>> I THINK THEY'RE TELLING US THAT THINGS ARE CHANGING.

AND I CAN'T SAY WHY. WE HAVE SOME -- WE HAVE SOME

SUSPECTS HERE. YOU KNOW, CERTAINLY CLIMATE

CHANGE IS ONE OF OUR MAJOR SUSPECTS.

FISHING. WE HAVE A VERY ACTIVE FISHERY IN

THE ANTARCTIC. SO SOMETHING IS GOING ON NOW

THAT HASN'T BEEN GOING ON IN THE PAST.

WE KNOW THAT. AND THAT MAKES THE WORK THAT WE

DO NOT JUST IMPORTANT, BUT REALLY URGENT.

>> AND AS FOR CLIMATE CHANGE DOUBTERS?

REMEMBER THE ANTARCTIC PENNINSULA IS THE PLACE WHERE

THE AVERAGE WINTER TEMPERATURE HAS GONE UP NINE DEGREES.

AN UNPRECEDENTED INCREASE. HERE THE EARTH IS GETTING WARMER

FASTER THAN ANYWHERE ELSE, CHANGING THE ENVIRONMENT AND

FORCING THE PENGUINS TO ADAPT TO SURVIVE AND THE PENGUINS ARE

TELLING US SOONER THAN WE THINK WE WILL HAVE TO ADAPT TOO.

>> I THINK THAT PEOPLE WANT TO DENY THE REALITY OF CLIMATE

CHANGE, WHICH IS THAT, YOU KNOW, IF WE JUST DON'T -- I JUST CLOSE

OUR EARS TO IT, IF WE JUST CLOSE OUR EYES, THAT SOMEHOW IT'S NOT

GONNA HAPPEN. AND THEN BEFORE YOU KNOW IT,

YOU'RE LOOKING AT A FOOT OF WATER OUT YOUR FRONT DOOR, AND

YOU'RE THINKING, YOU KNOW, WE REALLY SHOULD HAVE INVESTED IN

SOME REAL ESTATE, YOU KNOW, FURTHER UPHILL, AND EVEN THE

PENGUINS ARE GOING TO HAVE TO DO THAT TOO.

>> RON HAS BEEN TO ANTARCTICA SO MANY TIMES, IN ALL HE'S SPENT

EIGHT YEARS OF HIS LIFE HERE. HIS HOPE, HIS WORK WILL MAKE A

DIFFERENCE, BUT IT PAINS HIM TO SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING TO THE

PLANET. >> WHEN DO YOU CRY?

>> I CRY WHEN I THINK ABOUT LEAVING THE ANTARCTIC.

I CRY WHEN I THINK ABOUT MY GRANDKIDS, MAX AND CHARLIE.

AND I THINK ABOUT WHAT THEY'RE GONNA BE FACING WHEN THEY'RE

10 OR 15 YEARS OLDER THAN THEY ARE RIGHT NOW.

THAT REALLY CHOKES ME UP A LOT. THEY REPRESENT TO ME WHAT THIS

IS ALL ABOUT. IT'S ALL OF US ON THIS PLANET

Designer: Using the SGSET Instruction - Duration: 0:35.

This instruction is used to Enable a stage.

How this differs from a jump instruction is that is does not disable the stage that contains

this instruction.

When the Enable Stage instruction is executed, it does NOT cause an immediate jump to that

target Stage, it only enables that Stage.

This means that any ladder logic instruction between the Enable Stage instruction and the

end of the Stage will still be executed.

Stages can only be entered in Program code blocks and this instruction can only target

or reference stages within the same code block.

How to Create a Filterable Portfolio in WordPress - Duration: 2:55.

Hello and welcome to WPBeginner. In this video you'll learn how to create

filterable portfolio on your WordPress website. For this video we'll be using

the Envira Gallery plugin which is a premium plugin and you'll want to have

the plus plan or higher to access the tags addon. So to get started head over

to Envira Gallery and purchase the plus or higher plugin. Then you'll go to your

account, go to downloads, and you can download the plugin from here. After

you've downloaded it let's head over to our WordPress dashboard we'll go over to

our plugins area, add new. After we Add New you actually want to upload the

plugin you can choose the file. Now let's click install and once it's

installed we'll also want to activate it. Next you'll see an indication that we

need to add the license key so let's click on here to take us to our envira licence

key area where we can paste the license key. You can find your license key

anywhere on your account area, under downloads it's right here, so I'll take

that, copy it and now let's paste it. Make sure we verify the key and now that

we've verified we are good to go you need to go down to our addons area

because we're looking for the tags addon to activate I'll scroll down until I

find my tags addon right here again we'll install it and activate it so that

then it's available for us. Now let's create a new gallery so I'm going to go

to add new, create a gallery, you can select the files from your computer or

find all the photos that you want to add. Once all the photos are uploaded we can

scroll down and see them these are all of the images that are currently in our

gallery and from here we can click on each of the little pencil icons to add

the tag that we want. So down here we'll add a tag for this video you can add

multiple tags if you want separating it by a comma. When we click Save and close

and I'm going to add a couple more tags, again this will be a landscape as well,

make sure you add all the tags that you want to show up for all of them. After

we've added all the tags to the images lets also make sure that we click on the tags

tab and enable filtering here. This is where the tags will show up when you're

viewing the gallery, lets do it below. Once we've enabled it and added the tags for

filtering we can click update on the gallery to see it in action and we see

our gallery here and here are the tags that we can filter on it's a great and

easy way to create a filterable portfolio for your WordPress website. Did
