Hello, Welcome to DigiKarma
If we ever call a customer care center,
we judge the entire organization on the basis of the service of that particular employee we are talk to.
Similarly, at any restaurant or hotel
we judge the place on the basis of the waiter's performance
So basically, every employee is a reflection of the organization's ideals & leadership
In Hindu mythology - business, management , leadership is represented by Vishnu
Personally , it is my belief , that if we study lord Vishnu & his avatars
then you wouldn't even need to do an MBA
Today , we will uncover one such story out of all the leadership stories of Lord Vishnu
In which he handled his favorite employees , his gatekeepers, in a very tough situation
As we know, Vishnu Lok ( his abode) , is called Vaikunth
Vaikunth has two gatekeepers - Jaya & Vijaya
One point in time, Sankadik Kumar(s) came to visit Vishnu
Sankadik Kumar(s) are Brahma's sons , one of his first creations
The four Sankadik Kumar(s) are called - Sanak, Sanand, Sanatan & Sanat
Even though these four Sankadik Rishis are fully grown and enlightened, their appearance is of 4-5 year old kids.
That is why they are also known as Sankadik Kumars
When these Sankadik Kumars asked Jaya- Vijaya that they want to meet Vishnu , they were stopped by them
Jaya Vijaya said that Vishnu is meditating and cannot meet anyone right now
To that Sankadik Rishis replied that Vishnu is alway available for his devotees and he should be told that they are here to meet him.
Jaya Vijaya did not pay heed to their request & in the process insulted them thinking they are kids
Sankadik Rishis got furious at their humiliation and cursed Jaya Vijaya.
They cursed Jaya Vijaya that the Vaikunth they are very proud of protecting , they will have to leave that.
And they will be born on earth with Demon mentality
They also said that they will never return to Vaikunth & will be stuck in life / death cycle on earth forever.
Hearing this curse, Jaya Vijaya dropped to the Rishis feet and pled for their forgiveness.
Listening to this noise , Vishnu appeared
Vishnu ji , without any delay welcomed the Sankadik Rishis & took them inside
Point to be noted , Vishnu's first action was to mitigate the situation instead of finding out the reason behind it.
Vishnu ji took care of the Rishis
And asked for forgiveness on behalf of his gatekeepers. Jaya Vijaya also asked for their forgiveness
In return , Sankadik rishi , got pleased and asked Vishnu Ji to make a wish
Vishnu Ji said that he respects their curse but would like to reduce the punishment
Sankadik Rishi left the decision of Jaya Vijaya's punishment on Vishnu Ji
Vishnu Ji gave Jaya Vijaya two options
First option being that they will have to take 7 births on earth as Vishnu Ji's devotees
Or they will need to take 3 births on earth as Vishnu Ji's enemy
Jaya Vijaya said that they will not be able to stay away from Vishnu Ji or Vaikunth for 7 births
That is why they chose 3 births as Vishnu Ji's enemy
During their punishment - In their first birth , they were born as Rishi Kashyap & Mother Diti's demon sons - Hiranyaksha & Hrinayakashyipu
In our Holi Video we had mentioned that
Hiranyaksha was killed by Vishnu Ji's Varaha ( boar) Avatar
& Hrinayakashyipu was killed by Vishnu Ji's Narsimha Avatar
In Treta yug, Jaya Vijaya were born as Rishi Vishrava & Kaikesi's Demon sons
Raavan & Kumbhakaran
Raavan & Kumbhakarana were killed by Vishnu Ji's Rama Avatar
In Dwapar yug, in Jaya & Vijaya's last birth , they were born as Dantvakra & Shishupal
They were both killed by Shri Krishna (again Vishnu's Avatar)
So we saw how our subordinate's or employee's behavior effects us too.
Some people question per how Vishnu Ji suffered based on Jaya Vijaya's punishment
Vishnu Ji suffered equally, if not more
According to Vishnu Puran & Garud Puran , Jaya Vijaya were Vishnu Ji's favorite gatekeepers
Even though Jaya Vijaya stayed away from Vishnu Ji , Vishnu ji too had suffer the pain of staying away from them
Where Jaya Vijaya had to take 3 births on earth
Vishnu Ji also had to take 3 births as part of their punishment
True meaning of leadership is not favorism of your favorite employees
, but instead , if required, you punish them and if they are good you reward them.
A good leader , manager or CEO always knows that the client comes first
& Client Satisfaction is the most important to any business
